Abstract:
The textbook describes the methods of graphical representation of the results of the calculation of physical and engineering problems, represented by specialized programs and operating system tools. The graphic capabilities of the MATLAB package, which, along with powerful calculation tools, has excellent computer graphics, are studied in detail. A number of visualization tasks are solved by computer graphics programming methods in C++. The GDI GUI functions are used from the set of system API functions that the Windows operating system provides to the user. All examples in C++ are tested in the Visual Studio 2008 project development environment. The issues of interaction between the MATLAB package and programs written in C++ in the Visual Studio environment are considered. Meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation. For students studying in the field of training "Software Engineering".

Abstract:
The purpose of the textbook is to help students to master basic concepts and research methods used in mathematical analysis. In part 1 of the proposed cycle of workshops on the following topics: theory of sets, theory of limits, theory of continuous functions; differential calculus of functions of one variable, its application to the study of the properties of functions and graph; integral calculus of functions of one variable: indefinite, definite, improper integrals; hyperbolic functions; applications of integral calculus to the analysis and solution of practical problems. For the development of each topic the necessary theoretical and background material, reviewed a large number of examples with detailed analysis and solutions, the options for independent work. For self-training and quality control of the obtained knowledge provides exercises and problems with answers and guidance. For teachers, students and postgraduate students studying advanced mathematics.

In part 2 of the proposed cycle of workshops on the following topics: analytic geometry in space; differential calculus of functions of several variables; local, conditional, global extrema of functions of several variables; multiple, curvilinear and surface integrals; elements of field theory; numerical, power series, Fourier series; applications to the analysis and solution of applied problems. These topics are studied in universities, usually in the second semester in the discipline "Mathematical analysis" or the course "Higher mathematics", "Mathematics". For the development of each topic the necessary theoretical and background material, reviewed a large number of examples with detailed analysis and solutions, the options for independent work. For self-training and quality control of the acquired knowledge in each section designed exercises and tasks with answers and guidance. Abstract:
The questions of studying the amplitude and phase characteristics of communication channels of radio engineering systems are considered. As part of the research, a homodyne method for converting microwave signals is proposed, which makes it possible to measure amplitude and phase fluctuations with high accuracy and with the utmost simplicity of measuring equipment. The development of the homodyne method of signal transformation for the purposes and tasks of determining the amplitude and phase fluctuations of signals during the propagation of radio waves on open lines of sight is presented. The features of homodyne signal transformation in the presence of various destabilizing factors are considered. The issues of synchronization of reference generators on different parts of the measuring route are considered. The results of theoretical and experimental studies of amplitude and phase fluctuations on land and sea lines of sight are presented. For students and teachers, as well as anyone interested in radio engineering.

Full text
Abstract:
The workshop is a set of educational and methodological materials intended for the development of the course "Tactical and forensic support of investigative activities". For each topic of the course, there is a list of studied and control questions, a list of recommended literature, as well as a set of control and measuring materials-test tasks, situational tasks. As elements of the methodological support of the course, the workshop contains samples of scenarios of business games and other interactive forms of conducting practical classes (discussions on problematic issues of the course), materials for performing creative tasks. Practical tasks are compiled on the basis of materials of investigative and judicial practice. Samples of tasks for correspondence students and methodological recommendations for their implementation, as well as sample topics of abstracts and other research papers of students are presented. Meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation. For students and undergraduates of law schools and faculties studying under the programs of specialized training of investigative workers. It may also be of interest to the teaching staff of universities as a methodological support for training programs for specialists in various fields of law enforcement activity.

Abstract:
The overall process of cross-cultural instrument development and assessment are discussed in this chapter. Research instrument is defined as a systematic and standardized tool for data collection. It includes all types of research questionnaires and standardized scales. There are three methods of cross-cultural research instrument development: adopting an existing instrument, adapting or modifying an existing instrument, and developing a new instrument. In order to develop a cross-culturally valid questionnaire or instrument, the concepts or constructs selected for the investigation must be clearly defined and bear the same meanings across the selected cultural groups. No good questionnaire can be developed without clear definitions. This is a matter of utmost importance for all levels of cultural comparative research and evaluation whether it is a gender or racial/ethnic comparison within one society or across nations.

Abstract:
The chapter starts by telling a narrative to explain how and why the author came to reject the mistaken assumptions with which the research began, and how these initial assumptions had assumed false dichotomies familiar from existing work in the field. The chapter thereby explains why the results presented in Chapters 1–12 might seem unexpected. It draws together the chief philosophical lessons of those chapters, highlighting the fact that Plato is right about (i) how conceptual knowledge differs from both propositional knowledge and recognition of tokens, (ii) the different sense of ‘being’ involved in knowing ‘what it is’, about a type, (iii) the value of images and icons in the philosophical method, and (iv) the irrelevance of Socratic definitions and other bogus criteria for knowledge. Finally, it sketches some possible ways in which a further volume might apply the results to other dialogues.
