Abstract:
The article examines the methodology of scientific research as a general approach and perspective of the research process. Methodology in research is defined as a systematic method of solving a research problem by collecting data using various methods, providing an interpretation of the collected data, and drawing conclusions about the research data. Essentially, research methodology is a scheme of research or study. A research method is usually seen as a means of collecting or generating data. Traditionally, research methods are divided into quantitative methods (ie, surveys, questionnaires), qualitative methods (ie, interviews, focus groups), or some combination of both in mixed methods research. Research methods vary widely and may include written, visual, verbal, observational, artistic, and active strategies. Scientific research refers to research that collects data using systematic methods and strategies. Data collection, data interpretation and evaluation have a scientific and systematic basis. When conducting scientific research, the researcher must plan the research and determine the methodology. According to the methods used to collect data, scientific research can be classified into different categories such as observation and experiment. The process of scientific research requires a person to devote a lot of time and effort to the process of planning and experimenting in order to find accurate and verified results. Scientific research cannot be conducted in limited time because it will only lead to false conclusions that are of no value to the organization.Conducting research has been a necessary step in human and scientific discovery and evolution. Through research, mankind has been able to solve and successfully find solutions to enormous problems through thinking and reasoning. Conducting research is a time-consuming and exhausting process, as one constantly faces obstacles in trying to get accurate results to discover a solution. However, many great minds have constantly strived for perfection and have helped solve many of the world’s troubling problems and issues through this tedious process. Hence, it has been argued time and time again that research is necessary for progress, improvement and evolution. Understanding the different research methods available, their applicability, advantages, and disadvantages is essential to making an informed decision about the best methodology.

Abstract:
Introduction. Some methodological provisions need to be modified according to the realities of existing practice and be verified according to the possibilities of their application in economic phenomena and processes study. Theoretical analysis of methodological principles, their comparison and generalization were used during investigation. The purpose of the paper is to study basic methodological prerequisites and principles in economic research. Results. Analyzing and summarizing the achievements of Nobel laureates, the methodological problems of limited rationality, information asymmetry and opportunistic behavior of economic agents are considered. Modern mainstream in economic research corresponds to binary paradigm of neoclassicism and neoinstitutionalism, which are based on two common elements of the “core”: methodological individualism and “economic man” conception (homo economicus). The focus of the enterprises on maximizing profitability, and households – on benefits, is an axiom of neoclassicism, which implies significant requirements for information quantity and quality. At the same time, rational choice is accompanied by situations of uncertainty and varying degrees of risk regarding such activities consequences. The advantages of the institutional direction as the closest to the real conditions of economic entities market activity are substantiated. A specific feature of neoinstitutional approach is modification of neoclassical paradigm due to preserving basic preconditions of its “core” and partial transformation of “protective shell” into more perfect, realistic principles. In economics, the most significant is methodological combination of “semi-strong” limited rationality with a “strong” form of opportunistic behavior. Conclusions. Thanks to introducing modified preconditions and methodological principles into neo-institutionalism, it became possible to improve the analysis of economics and to apply interdisciplinary research in combination with the approaches of other branches of science.

Abstract:
This paper aims at revealing the genuine and core challenges facing scholars working in the research field of Maqasid Al-Shari’a Al-Islamiyah. The paper depended on the mixed methodology of surveys and interviews to collect raw data from scholars working in the field. The collected raw data considered the differences in cultural, geographical and language backgrounds of the participants. It has also included the scholars with various specialties in Maqasid Al-Shari’a. The paper has also segmented the challenges faced by the Maqasid scholars into theoretical, methodological, institutional, environmental and technical challenges. The paper concluded that a great part of the challenges faced by the Maqasid scholars is that the approach does not provide a wholistic theoretical and methodological framework; most of the interviewed scholars criticized the theoretical and the methodological framework of the approach, claiming that they are not complete. The paper’s recommendations will be presented to the institutions working on the Maqasid Al-Shari’ah Al-Islamiyah approach to improve the circumstances of Maqasid Al-Shari’a scholars working in their own institutions, which is one of the basic challenges faced by them.
