Abstract:
This study focuses on how the implementation of DL in teaching report writing for junior high school students based on 2013 curriculum. It has three research questions: (1)how is the implementation of DL in teaching report writing, (2) how are the students’ responses towards DL during the teaching learning of report writing, (3) how is the students’ writing report after taught by implementation of DL.This study used qualitative research. It focuses on natural setting, has an interest in meaning, the perspective emphasizes on a process, concern with an inductive analysis and grounded theory. The data collection techniques are observation and interview to anstablewer the first and second research questions, and documentation to answer first and third research questions. The result of this study reveals when teaching report writing, the teacher implements DL which is relevant and appropriate with the theories. He uses six steps, (1) stimulation (2) problem statement (3) data collection (4) data processing (5) verification (6) generalization. The students’ responses are positive in five steps, except data processing, the students’ response is negative, because of limited time. In all of the writing, the teacher gives his comments. It makes students pay attention to their result, and know their mistakes as motivational correction for them. All of students’ score isstill high of the standard score.

Abstract: This project aims to develop a writing assistant. It has been designed to check for spelling and grammatical errors, analyze sentiment, detect plagiarism, and translate text from one language to another. This tool, using Natural Language Processing (NLP), analyzes text and provides appropriate error-free recommendations. Working as a writing assistant, this project assists users with their day-to-day activities, whether an informal letter to a friend, an important project report, or an online blog post. Social networks and community forums have become one of the most used platforms to communicate with people who may be from a different region speaking a foreign language. It consists of a massive amount of data where positive content from one’s point of view may not be the same for others. In such situations, a writing assistant may act as an extra set of eyes to catch common errors and improve writing. Abstract:
Free-form radiology reports associated with coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) include nuanced and complicated linguistics to report cardiovascular disease. Standardization and interpretation of such reports is crucial for clinical use of CCTA. Coronary Artery Disease Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS) has been proposed to achieve such standardization by implementing a strict template-based report writing and assignment of a score between 0 and 5 indicating the severity of coronary artery lesions. Even after its introduction, free-form unstructured report writing remains popular among radiologists. In this work, we present our attempts at bridging the gap between structured and unstructured reporting by natural language processing. We present machine learning models that while being trained only on structured reports, can predict CAD-RADS scores by analysis of free-text of unstructured radiology reports. The best model achieves 98% accuracy on structured reports and 92% 1-margin accuracy (difference of \le 1 in the predicted and the actual scores) for free-form unstructured reports. Our model also performs well under very difficult circumstances including nuanced and widely varying terminology used for reporting cardiovascular functions and diseases, scarcity of labeled data for training our model, and uneven class label distribution.

Abstract:
Data warehouses have demonstrated their applicability in numerous application fields such as agriculture, the environment and health. This paper proposes a general framework for defining a data warehouse and its aggregations using logic programming. The objective is to show that data managers can easily express, in Prolog, traditional data warehouse queries and combine data aggregation operations with other advanced Prolog features. It is shown that this language provides advanced features to aggregate information in an in-memory database. This paper targets data managers; it shows them the direct writing of data warehouse queries in Prolog using an easily understandable syntax. The queries are not necessarily in an optimal form from a processing point of view, but a data manager can easily use or write them.

Abstract:
Prediction for requirements for the LHC computing for Run 3 and for Run 4 (HL-LHC) over the course of the next 10 year, show a considerable gap between required and available resources, assuming budgets will globally remain flat at best. This will require some radical changes to the computing models for the data processing of the LHC experiments. The use of large scale computational resources at HPC centres worldwide is expected to increase substantially the cost-efficiency of the processing. In order to pave the path towards the HL-LHC data processing, the Swiss Institute of Particle Physics (CHIPP) has taken the strategic decision to migrate the processing of all the Tier-2 workloads for ATLAS and other LHC experiments from a dedicated x86 ̲ 64 cluster that has been in continuous operation and evolution since 2007, to Piz Daint, the current European flagship HPC, which ranks third in the TOP500 at the time of writing. We report on the technical challenges and solutions adopted to migrate to Piz Daint, and on the experience and measured performance for ATLAS in over one year of running in production.

Samson, Brian R. "A system for writing interactive engineering programs in APL." Thesis, University of British Columbia, 1985. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/25108.

Full text
Abstract:
As the use of computers in engineering becomes more significant and widespread, there is a growing need for interactive computer programs which can be used with a minimum of user preparation. This thesis presents and demonstrates a system for writing interactive engineering programs in APL, a programming language. A good interactive program is sensitive to the needs of the user, and generally includes help features, default options, escape features and check features. To include all of these features in a conventionally organized program is complicated and tedious, especially for longer programs with many interaction events between the program and the user. The system presented here makes it fairly simple to include all of the above features, and provides two additional benefits: 1. The logic of the program becomes more prominent, hence easier to follow and check. 2. The program tends to be highly modular in form, making it more readable and easier to test and debug.

Frank, Mario. "Axiom relevance decision engine : technical report." Universität Potsdam, 2012. http://opus.kobv.de/ubp/volltexte/2014/7212/.

Full text
Abstract:
This document presents an axiom selection technique for classic first order theorem proving based on the relevance of axioms for the proof of a conjecture. It is based on unifiability of predicates and does not need statistical information like symbol frequency. The scope of the technique is the reduction of the set of axioms and the increase of the amount of provable conjectures in a given time. Since the technique generates a subset of the axiom set, it can be used as a preprocessor for automated theorem proving. This technical report describes the conception, implementation and evaluation of ARDE. The selection method, which is based on a breadth-first graph search by unifiability of predicates, is a weakened form of the connection calculus and uses specialised variants or unifiability to speed up the selection. The implementation of the concept is evaluated with comparison to the results of the world championship of theorem provers of the year 2012 (CASC J6). It is shown that both the theorem prover leanCoP which uses the connection calculus and E which uses equality reasoning, can benefit from the selection approach. Also, the evaluation shows that the concept is applyable for theorem proving problems with thousands of formulae and that the selection is independent from the calculus used by the theorem prover.

Abstract:
Cluster analysis has for long been an effective tool for analysing data. Thus, several disciplines, such as marketing, psychology and computer sciences, just to mention a few, did take advantage from its contribution over time. Traditionally, this kind of algorithm concentrates only on numerical or categorical data at a time. In this work, instead, we analyse a dataset composed of mixed data, namely both numerical than categorical ones. More precisely, we focus on profiling visitors of the National Park of Majella in the Abruzzo region of Italy, which observations are characterized by variables such as gender, age, profession, expectations and satisfaction rate on park services. Applying a standard clustering procedure would be wholly inappropriate in this case. Therefore, we hereby propose an unsupervised classification of mixed data, a specific procedure capable of processing both numerical than categorical variables simultaneously, releasing truly precious information. In conclusion, our application therefore emphasizes how cluster analysis for mixed data can lead to discover particularly informative patterns, allowing to lay the groundwork for an accurate customers profiling, starting point for a detailed marketing analysis.

Relevant studies on this topic may be found primarily at primary or secondary school level. These studies demonstrate among other things that written work can have great significance for learning, retentiveness, and cognitive development. However, particularly because of the process of digitalization in schools, the amount of written work or writing tasks has dropped. The study at hand will examine the benefit of writing as a teaching method. Using learning-psychology-based findings on the processing of learning incentives by information models, the study focuses on the impact of writing by hand on the retention processes of the learners in economics lessons. To this end, two groups of learners are formed who will learn and repeat the material of a standardized lesson via different methods. One group writes the learned material down; the other group receives a handout containing the material. By means of short-term and long-term written learning outcome tests in the form of multiple choice, we obtain information about the knowledge retention effectiveness of written work in classroom teaching. We show that writing down, as a teaching method, does not lead to better absolute results in the learning outcome tests. However, in the long term, writing down does lead to fewer variances in the results of the learning outcome tests and thus to a more stable anchoring of knowledge in the learners’ longterm memory

Abstract:
Abstract In the world of failure analysis and material characterization, compiling a final report may not be on our priority project list yet we will discover that the layout, syntax, and format of our reports can have as large an impact on the reader as the data we have collected. In an industry where the transmission of valid and understandable information from the lab floor to the requestor is vital, it becomes necessary for each of us to search for resolution to this quandary. In answering the question of how can we write better research documents and reports, this paper will present research to discuss 1) the needs of each group involved with research documents and reports; 2) the difference in expectations between readers and writers; 3) the techniques used to teach report writing; and 4) what makes an effective report. The conclusion of this paper will form a generalized statement of the factors that lead to better-written research documents and reports and will point out areas of consideration for future research.

Abstract:
Data storage related with writing and retrieving requires high storage capacity, fast transfer rate and less access time. Today any data storage system cannot satisfy all of these conditions, however holographic data storage system can perform faster data transfer rate because it is a page oriented memory system using volume hologram in writing and retrieving data. System can be constructed without mechanically actuating part therefore fast data transfer rate and high storage capacity about 1Tb/cm3 can be realized. In this paper, storage capacity increased and stable data retrieving are realized in holographic data storage system. Thereby, we propose data pattern recognition by wavelet transform and fuzzy system in holographic data storage system.[1]
