Abstract:
Researchs on Abrahamic religions found three religious attitudes which generate the theory of exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism. Those sort of religious attitudes are constructed by normative doctrines and historical experience of each religion’s adherents in interacting with adherents of other religions. Pluralism as a philosophycal system of thinking emerges as a response toward inappropriateness of monism and dualism theories. Besides, socio-theological response also emerges as various thruth phenomena. Therefore, the phenomena should be responded wisely.

Abstract:
Tripolar typology is one of the approaches to theology of religions that was popularized by Alan Race. This typology is used as a standard in theological studies of religions, and is still widely used in the theological discourse of religions. Tripolar typology used to map various approaches theologians and theologians non-Christian on the relation of Christianity with religions. other This mapping is based on the similarities and differences in their perspective on other religions outside Christianity. The three typologies are exclusivism, inclusivism and pluralism.Komarudin Hidayat stated that there are five typologies of religious attitudes, namely "exclusivism, inclusivism, pluralism, eclecivism, and universalism". These five typologies do not mean that each is separated and disconnected from the other nor permanent, but rather it is said to be a prominent trend, considering that every religion or religious attitude always has the potential to produce the five attitudes above. Even though there are differences in theological types of religion with other religious scholars, such as Panikkar, who mentions three typologies: exclusive, inclusive, and parallelism, essentially the typological mentions contain the same meaning and meaning. Therefore, we will discuss the typologies of religion.

Abstract:
The idea of human rights is based on the premise that all people are free, have inherent dignity and value, and attitude towards them requires justice and equality. This is important for promoting peaceful coexistence between people and societies. An integral and important part of modern human rights is the concept of religious freedom. Since everything in the world is becoming more and more interconnected, and meetings of various religions and worldviews are becoming more and more important, the principles of religious freedom are challenged. In my report, I will: 1) consider the principle of religious freedom: what it means, where it came from and what some of the most important modern documents on religious freedom and 2) agree with a few thoughts and comments. My starting point is that modern human rights include many religions and state neutrality in relation to religious and non-religious attitudes. I contend that these two elements, along with the right to change religion, are the most challenging.

Abstract:

Religious education has to give contribution to form pluralistic attitude that appreciates the truth of other religions. The claim of being the only true religion by various religious followers may result in horrific conflicts. It is dangerous when religion is used to justify sadistic act in many conflicts. Therefore, religious education is very important to develop religiosity and to improve religious tolerance. As a social process, education is a mean of transferring religious values and knowledge to the religious followers that, in turn, form their religious attitudes. Consequently, if religion is learned exclusively, the output will be exclusive. Conversely, if religion is learned openly or inclusively, the output will be open-minded, it means they can understand the others.

Abstract:
Religious pluralism is a central issue in the debates on the place of religion in Western societies. Religious institutions may cope with pluralism in different ways. The author focuses on one of these attitudes, which she calls “protest-attestation” and which is halfway between the opposite poles of “insulation” and “radicalisation”. First she observes that, whatever their attitude, religious players are not seen by society as holding a specific religious worldview. Her main hypothesis is therefore that religious normativity and its basis have lost much of their value in contemporary societies. If that is the case, then we should ask—as Jim Beckford did—if Western societies are experiencing only religious diversity, tolerating the presence of minority religions, or if they are actually reflecting on viable approaches and strategies for managing this pluralism.

Abstract:
Purpose Although religiosity and advertising messages have been extensively examined in the existing literature separately, studies which correlatively examine both these aspects are very limited. This paper aims to reveal the influence of the widely used religious messages on consumer attitudes and of purchase intentions on subjects with different levels of religiosity. Design/methodology/approach In this study, four different printed advertising messages with and without religious messages were developed for two different products. In this respect, the consumer attitudes toward advertisements and the degree to which purchase intention changed were measured. Findings The attitude and purchase intention toward the advertisements with religious messages was found to have a higher mean value compared to the advertisements without religious messages, and a statistically significant difference was found between the two. The highly religious participants’ attitudes and purchasing intention toward the advertisements with religious messages differed as compared to the participants with low levels of religiosity. Research limitations/implications Indeed, it was observed that the attitude toward different advertising messages and purchase intention differed regarding the level of religiosity. In the last section of the study, the influence of the level of religiosity on purchasing intention and consumer attitudes has been discussed with academic and practical results. Practical implications This study has also extended the practical implications of social judgment theory, which suggests that the further the consumers’ initial position to the new message the less is the acceptance of that message, and it contributes to its methodological and theoretical development. Whether a religious advertisement message is considered more or less acceptable depends on the level of religiosity and the positioning strategy adopted in the advertisement. In the present study, it is observed that as the level of religiosity increases, purchase intention and the attitude towards the advertisement with religious message increase in permissible(halal) goods. However, when prohibited (haram) services are considered, an increase in the subjects' level of religiosity brings about a decrease in the purchase intention and the attitude towards the advertisement with religious message. Therefore, this study validates social judgment theory. Social implications A significant implication for the marketing practitioners is that religiosity could be one of the criteria in segmenting market. A religiously prohibited product might gradually feel more irritating as the intensity of religious message increases in an advertisement. Thus, it is an important consideration for an organization offering faith-based products in mono-religious societies. Clearly, marketers need to be very careful when they use religious symbols in the secular marketplace, which raises the question – What factors underlie a positive response to religious message use in advertisement? Originality/value Religion was a taboo subject in society in the recent past; it has not been comprehensively investigated in marketing literature; moreover, it is evident that this situation continues to exist at present. It can, therefore, be said that the efforts to conceptualize religion’s influence on marketing and consumer behavior have been scarce.

Abstract:
The study aimed to translate the Religious Attitude Scale (RAS; Onay, 2000) into Urdu language and established its construct validity in Pakistani culture. Moreover, the relationship of different demographic variables (i.e., age, income, gender, family system) with religious attitude of parents was also explored. The study comprised of two phases: Phase I of the study constituted translation of the original English version of RAS into Urdu language using forward and back translation method. In phase II, the construct validity of RAS was established through Exploratory Factor Analysis and psychometric properties of RAS were determined. A sample (N = 264) of parents comprising mothers (n = 133) and fathers (n = 131) with age range of 26 to 52 years (M = 34.74, SD = 6.0) participated in the study. Results showed that RAS has two factors namely Positive Religious Attitudes and Negative Religious Attitudes. Psychometric properties of the scale were satisfactory. Findings showed that religious attitudes had positive relationship with age; while, were negatively associated with income. Findings revealed nonsignificant differences across gender of the parents on religious attitudes; whereas, individuals belonging to nuclear families had significantly lower religious attitudes than those from joint family system. Future implications were also discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract In order that religions in a multicultural modern democratic society like Indonesia do not become a source of conflict, the adherents of religions must develop a certain rationality of faith. That rationality is related to the attitude towards other religions and beliefs, to the autonomy of science, and to the procedures inherent in the democratic system. Hopefully, religious communities can develop a positive attitude towards those three things, without denying their religious identity. The learning process associated with them cannot be imposed from outside, but must be born of the dynamics within the community of the faith/ religious community itself. If the learning process is successfully pursued, the adherents of the religions can give an important contribution to the development of democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract:
This study assesses the effect that private religious schools have on gender attitudes in students. Using data collected from twenty-one private schools in Guatemala, gender attitudes are assessed using latent class analysis. The results indicate that students’ gender attitudes can be categorized into three distinct profiles. These are non-egalitarian, publicly egalitarian, and generally egalitarian. Subsequent analysis reveals that religious schools and specific religious beliefs are correlated with different gender attitude profiles. For instance, Catholic school students are more likely to be generally egalitarian than students in evangelical or secular schools, and biblical literalists are most likely to be publicly egalitarian. Overall, this research highlights the need to develop new conceptual models to provide more accurate and nuanced descriptions of gender attitudes. It also provides new insight into correlations between religious schools and religious beliefs and gender attitudes formation.

Abstract:
Impact of the Northern Wars of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries on Attitudes and Relations Between Various Religious Denominations Among Poznań Burghers Wars often result in changes of peoples’ attitudes and approach towards others and social, economic and religious reality around them. This is especially true among those who have personally experienced atrocities of military conflicts. The aim of this paper is to reveal the impact of the Northern Wars (i.e. the 1655-1660 and 1700-1712 conflicts) on attitudes and relations between burghers of the city of Poznań representing various religious denominations. Examination of evidence shows that citizens of Poznań displayed usually toleration for other religions groups. This circumstance, of course, did not exclude occasional religious upheaval.

Abstract:
An excellent religious attitude can direct students to think and act following the religious values they adhere to in their personal and social lives. This study aimed to analyze the environmental factors in the formation of students' attitudes toward diversity. This study used a qualitative method. The data had been obtained from all informants at SDIT Muhammadiyah, SD Trihasil, and MI Nahdlatul Ulama that met the specified requirements. The data had been collected through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques to be analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the factors forming students' attitudes toward diversity were the family environment, school environment, and community environment. For example, factors that formed the religious attitude of SD Trihasil students were religious education and the family environment. The parents provided religious education through daily habituation and invited their children to daily and monthly recitation. On the other hand, factors that formed students' attitudes toward diversity at SDIT Muhammadiyah were the family through habituation and the Muhammadiyah organization. Furthermore, students’ attitudes toward diversity MI Nahdatul Ulama were influenced by family factors and their community. Thus, internal and external environmental factors influence the students’ attitudes toward diversity.

Abstract:
Religious people are expected to believe in their religious creeds faithfully and firmly. How can one acquire such a belief? In order to answer that question, I propose a model for all belief-like propositional attitudes. The model differentiates, firstly, between voluntary and involuntary, and, secondly, between categorical and quantitative belief-like attitudes. The whole variety of belief-like attitudes is then reduced into two main groups. The first group combines all voluntary and categorical attitudes, and the second group combines all involuntary and quantitative attitudes. The resultant first-group attitude is called “judgment,” and the second-group attitude — “confidence.” Thus, judgment is the generic voluntary categorical propositional attitude, which can have only two values: “true” or “false.” Confidence is the generic involuntary quantitative attitude, which can have any value between “certainly false” and “certainly true.” A religious person can form the creedal judgment simply by her act of will, while her confidence depends upon the actual content of her doxastic system. However, a person can indirectly increase her confidence in the creedal statement via relevant factors that control her doxastic system. Such factors include corroboration, desirability, and ethicality of the proposition, and also its centrality and entrenchment in the doxastic system. I suggest several practical guidelines for increasing the relevant factors. I claim that the suggested model and the practical guidelines for acquiring the “faithful and firm belief” can be used not only within the religious context but can also be applied to any propositional beliefs.

Abstract:
There is no gainsaying that in a globalized world, economic and technological development greatly determine human wellbeing. In the Indian context, the dialectics between socialist and capitalist economy, while giving way to the latter since 1991, has progressively led to the enlargement of the middle class, yet widened the gap between the rich and the poor. Such a situation points to the importance of socioeconomic rights for guaranteeing human flourishing. The question that we pose is whether religions can play a significant role in favoring these human rights, given their own specific vision of human life and of its socioeconomic facets, such as work, wealth, leisure, health, and education. In other words, can personal and contextual religious attitudes and religious socialization contribute to socioeconomic wellbeing? The empirical research undertaken in the pluralistic and democratic context of Tamil Nadu, India, seeks to verify among 1215 Christian, Muslim, and Hindu students, the impact of religion on their attitude towards socioeconomic rights. The emerging results reveal that some aspects of religious attitudes and socialization have a significant impact on students’ agreement with socioeconomic rights, particularly in the case of Christians and Muslims. We conclude with a discussion on the salient findings and their implications.

Abstract:
Religious tolerance is one of the competencies listed in Indonesia higher education curriculum. There is a need to design learning model that can increase students’ religious tolerance in higher education. This study aims to produce a learning model for religious education which is based on the Quran to nurture students’ religious tolerance. To answer the problem of this study, a quasi-R&D model was chosen. This research is multi-years. In the first year (2019) a learning model was tested. The research findings showed that the lecture model was carried out in six stages: describing the Qur'anic view of the faith of adherents of non-Islamic religions; reminding students of the dangers of takfir; describing students’ common mistakes in assessing other religions; describing the main teachings of other religions correctly; searching for common denominator between Islam and other religions; and developing inclusive attitudes and religious tolerance. After being tested, this learning model has proven to be effective in increasing students' understanding of the basic teachings of other religions, in understanding of the basic teachings of Islam, in developing more robust understanding in their Islamic aqeedah, and being more inclusive and tolerant to adherents of other religions.

After giving a brief overview of different patterns in the Christian attitudes toward other religions, the author focuses upon three main responses to religious plurality: exclusivism, inclusivism, and pluralism. Some tentative lines for a trinitarian-oriented theology of religions are developed. This approach opens up the possibility of a pluriform and contextual response without compromising the Christian faith. Such a theology has different points of entry: there is the Christ-centered approach and a pneumatological perspective on religious pluralism. Both are related in a theocentric framework. Though distinct, these three perspectives on religious plurality should not be detached from each other.

Abstract:
Faith-based programs have been long regarded as influential social approaches to form positive attitudes to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) within the last few decades. However, recent scholars argue that religions serve a double role in supporting HIV-infected people. Moreover, relevant evidence is mainly collected from studies among participants of the Western religious traditions, such as Christianity. This study applies the theory of the attitude formation model to examine Buddhist factors impacting discriminatory attitudes towards HIV/AIDS and the causal path to positive behavior intention. To investigate its underlying mechanism, Buddhist elements, as an important antecedent, were introduced in the advertisement against HIV/AIDS-related discrimination to influence people’s attitudinal reaction. Results show that Buddhist advertising could significantly increase perceived religiosity and compassion. Then, both perceived religiosity and compassion jointly increase anti-prejudical attitudes towards HIV-infected people and have a positive impact on interaction intention at the end.

Humans were influenced by perceptions, attitudes, cooperation, and the government roles to portray indicators of religious tolerance. Therefore, this study was carried out between January and March 2020 to deeply analyze the dimensions of perception, attitude, cooperation, and the roles of the government, using a case study technique with a descriptive approach. The population of this study were 53 people representing religious figures, community leaders, government, and levels of society. A questionnaire was used containing statements based on Likert scale measurements. Data analysis was carried out in a narrative manner. The results showed that the portrait of the dimensions of perception, attitude, cooperation, and the role of the government supports religious tolerance in the City of Kupang. However, it found that a neutral attitude was shown when it was related to the attendance to the worship of other religions. Based on the dimension of cooperation, there were also people who showed a neutral attitude on the donations or social action for the followers of other religions, and a willingness to maintain a normative business that does not conflict with adherents of other religions.

Abstract:
Abstract Due to their tradition, religious objects (as “witnesses” of a tradition) are related to specific attitudes through the way they are created and used (e. g. connected with believing). In the context of pedagogical presentation and reflection, religious themes and objects are embedded in differing attitudes - e.g. the ones towards believing. Thus, teachers do not only teach methods and religious objects, but also convey a hierarchy between both levels of attitudes by their activities. Regarding the process of pedagogical reflection, this implies that an attitude arising from the witness and its religious context needs to be considered in relation to those particularly intended for teaching. Otherwise, unintended mistakes may occur even in minor wordings. Consequently, this procedure requires separate pedagogical reflections on “the attitudes towards particular attitudes”, so to speak. The intentions and applied priorities concerning those attitudes hence need to be revealed.

The presented analysis also focuses on other aspects of banking activities, such as saving, investing and the institutional development of the banking sector. The author underlines the far-reaching convergence between the religions in this area, in spite of the considerable variation in historical and geographical conditions of their formation. The importance of cultural (religious) differences, including some fundamental nuances that affect the banking management in different regions. Abstract:
AbstractThe precise influence that religious outlooks have on environmental attitudes and behaviors is a matter of debate among scholars of religion and ecology. While some studies suggest that emergent ecofriendly interpretations of traditional religions offer a promising path for addressing the world’s ecological crisis, others advance more skeptical evaluations about institutional religions’ efficacy in advancing sustainability efforts. In this article I seek to shift the terms of this debate. Whether scholars suggest there is a correlation or insist there is not, these arguments envision environmentalism based on the model of the mainstream, white American environmental movement, assuming that religious environmentalism must entail explicit, concerted efforts to protect the earth. This assumption has led scholars to overlook embedded environmental expressions that are conveyed theologically rather than politically, especially among communities that do not identify with mainstream American environmentalism. By interrogating the assumption that religious environmentalism must involve concerted, political efforts, scholars of religion and ecology can better account for the ways religion influences environmental attitudes and behaviors among religious communities who are not affluent and white.

Abstract:
Variation in the extent an attitude is imbued with moral conviction is a strong predictor of a variety of consequential social judgments; however, the extant literature has not explained variation in moral conviction. The authors predict that some attitudes may be experienced as moral because they are heritable, promoting group survival and firmly rooting people in these attitudes. To test this hypothesis, the authors surveyed two community samples and a student sample (total N = 456) regarding the extent participants perceived 20 attitudes as moral attitudes, and compared these ratings to established estimates of attitude heritability. Across all three studies, attitudes with greater previously established heritability estimates were more likely to be experienced as moral, even when controlling for a variety of measures of attitude strength and the extent to which an attitude is associated with one’s religious beliefs.

Abstract:
AbstractHistorians have often described early-twentieth-century Japanese Buddhists as ignorant of the importance of religious freedom, myopically focused on their parochial agendas, and sycophantically aligned with the state. Such depictions assume that the attitudes of a minority of elite Buddhist clerics represent majority Buddhist opinion; they also problematically treat religious freedom as a universal principle rather than a historically contingent concept subject to the conflicting claims of competing interest groups. This article highlights the contingency of religious freedom law and the diversity of its interpretation by introducing three discrete attitudes that surfaced in Buddhist responses to a controversial Bill advanced by the Japanese government in December 1899. Tracing differences between statist, corporatist, and latitudinarian interpretations of religious freedom, it shows that religious freedom is never unitary or uniform in any time or place.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Introduction: Socioeconomic and demographic diversity in the educational environment and the development of professional attitudes enhance the quality of health care delivery. Despite the importance of diversity for equity and accessibility to health care, its repercussions for students’ attitudinal learning have not been adequately evaluated. Purpose: Evaluate the influence of academic sociodemographic diversity and curricular organization in the development of professional attitudes in different phases of the undergraduate medical curriculum. Method: In 2012, the attitudinal performance of 310 socioeconomically diverse medical students was evaluated by the administration of a five-point professional attitudes scale. The participants were at different points in their education at a Brazilian public school of medicine in Brasília, Federal District. The scale comprised 6 factors: communication, ethics, professional excellence, self-assessment, beliefs, social determinants; and a general factor called medical professionalism and was validated for the purpose of this research. The reliability coefficients (aCronbach) ranged from 0.65 to 0.87, according to different scale dimensions. Student diversity was analyzed according to differences in gender, age, religious affiliation, system of student selection and socioeconomic background. Results: The authors observed a decline in the mean attitude scores during the clinical phase compared to the preclinical phase of the curriculum. Female students displayed more positive attitudes than male students, and the students who declared a religious affiliation recorded higher attitude scores compared to those who declared themselves atheist, agnostic or non-religious. There was no correlation between family income or the system of student selection and the students’ attitude scores. The students who had attended public schools expressed a greater interest in working in the public health system compared to the other students. Age and marital status had no relevant effect on attitude scores. Conclusions: The attitude scores of medical students declined as the curriculum progressed. Female students had more positive attitudes than male students. Religious affiliation appeared to positively influence the observed attitude scores.

Abstract:
Using Meditation as a medium in Counseling makes the counseling process fresher and more interesting. Because one of the challenges a counselor must face in the interfaith Guidance and Counseling process is how to respond to religious differences. Religious differences should not be an obstacle in the counseling process. Understanding religious pluralism is a need for a counselor in the counseling process in a pluralistic society. Religious pluralism is based on the assumption that all existing religions are equally valid paths to God. The practice of meditation at Vihara Karangdjati is a clear example of the attitude of pluralism. There, people from different religious backgrounds gather and socialize in a peaceful and understanding manner between religions. Counseling and religious pluralism in meditation at Vihara Karangdjati is the provision of counseling services to meditation participants of different beliefs or religions with a meditation guide as a counselor. The awareness of the guides and meditation participants on religious pluralism makes the process of meditation as interfaith counseling run well

Abstract:
Abstract: Commodus’ religious policy shows two phases that correspond to two different attitudes both towards traditional religion and, more generally, to external cults, and towards Christianity. The breakthrough matured above all in the last years of his reign when Commodus made a break both with the imperial cult through assimilation to Hercules, which is however ephemeral, and with the anti-Christian policy of Marcus which is more fruitful and lasting in relation to the fate of subsequent Christianity.Parole chiave: Commodo, Ercole, Culti tradizionali, Cristiani.Key words: Commodus, Hercules, Traditional Cults, Christians.

Abstract:
Over the past 30 years, independent lines of research in the fields of classroom environment and student attitudes to Christianity have been conducted. This research brought these two fields together by hypothesizing a model for the relationship among age, gender, students’ perceptions of religion classroom environment, students’ religious behavior and attitudes to Christianity. Responses from 815 Australian Catholic secondary school students on four attitude to Christianity scales, four classroom environment scales and the religious behavior of students and their parents were analyzed. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the structure of the classroom environment and attitude to Christianity measures. Goodness of fit indices obtained from structural equation modeling revealed that the hypothesized model was a satisfactory fit to the data. Statistically significant path coefficients for the influence of students’ religious behavior and students’ perceptions of the religion classroom environment on students’ attitude to Christianity were found.
