Abstract:
AbstractThe articles by N. Levene (writing on St. Anselm's Proslogion) and C. Furey (on Thomas More's Utopia) in this volume offer a nuanced critical perspective on historicist tendencies in the study of religion. While insisting on the importance of seeing primary texts as embedded in their historical context, both propose that scholars simultaneously seek to maintain an element of openness and vulnerability to the voices of the past. This can serve as a counterweight to the typical historicist strategy of debunking and unmasking the past's pretensions to authoritative discourse.

Abstract:
Diversity from the beginning: A comparison of Mack and Crossan’s constructs of earliest Christianities (ca 30-70 CE) According to recent propositions by Burton Mack and Dominic Crossan, earliest Christianity was a diverse phenomenon right from its inception. In this article their constructs of this early phase of 'church ’ history (ca 30-70 CE) are compared, so as to identify similarities and differences, advantages and shortcomings. The essay concludes with a proposal on methodological procedure to be followed in the search for earliest forms of Christianities (ca 30-70 CE), as well as some remarks on the meaning of the comparative analysis undertaken by Mack and Crossan.

Abstract:
There is limited literature on anti-sexual violence programming on college campuses for historically underrepresented groups in the United States, including, and especially, for Muslim students. This study will explore the following questions: (a) What is Muslim students’ awareness of sexual violence on college campuses? (b) What are Muslim students’ attitudes towards sexual violence?, and (c) What challenges do Muslim survivors and allies of sexual violence face on college campuses? A mixed methods analysis of quantitative (n = 91) and qualitative data (n = 8) was utilized to understand the impact of anti-sexual violence advocacy programming on college campuses. Results demonstrate that Muslim women reported knowing more survivors of sexual assault than Muslim men. Women also reported significantly higher levels of disagreement with victim-blaming statements compared to men. Qualitative interviews with eight student leaders demonstrated challenges to sexual assault programming on campus, include Islamophobia, power struggles between student groups, denial that sexual violence is a problem, and a lack of engagement from men. Results from this study highlight several key findings including (1) rape culture attitudes vary significantly between Muslim men and Muslim women, (2) barriers to facilitating sexual violence programming include several systems of oppression, and (3) the urgent need to provide nuanced programming to support minoritized youth communities on college campuses.

Abstract:
HbA1c is assayed in the biochemistry laboratory using a high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) technique in ion exchange, and given the correlation between its value and the risk of complication, it is crucial to know it, advantages and it limits. This work highlights the contribution of HPLC in the detection of qualitative abnormalities of hemoglobin during the determination of HbA1c using the ADAMS HA-8180V ARKRAY® device. This descriptive prospective study, carried out at the Biochemistry-Toxicology department of the Mohammed V Military Hospital in Rabat, focused on all samples for which routine HbA1c testing is prescribed during the past year, external samples and from all departments. For each abnormality noted on the chromatogram, a complete study of hemoglobin was performed using other electrophoretic technique at alkaline and acid pH on the Capillarys 2 Flex Piercing® Sebia® and the Hydrasys 2 Scan Focusing® Sebia®. Almost 0.6% of the variants were detected during the HbA1c assay out of 12,944 blood samples.Only 0.04% were not identified by the machine. After confirmation, variant C was predominantly present (n = 30), followed by S (n = 28) then O-Arab (n = 8) and l 'Hb D (n =2). The HPLC technique, for measurement of HbA1c, represents a reliable screening tool for the most common variants of Hb, with however limitations that encourage vigilance in the analysis and interpretation of the results.

Abstract:
Zusammenfassung MSS Laud. Or. 243 (= A2) und Laud.

Abstract:
Participants were grouped on the basis of theological beliefs about divine-human and female-male dynamics using cluster analysis. We then explored whether these subgroups might differ on (a) hierarchical social expectations, (b) commitments to social justice and intercultural competence, (c) religious exploration, (d) existential defensiveness, (e) views of psychology – theology integration, and (f) perspectives on women's leadership. The sample consisted of graduate students (N = 227) at an Evangelical seminary in the Midwestern United States. Results yielded a four-cluster solution. Individuals scoring high on both Calvinist theological beliefs and complementarian gender role beliefs scored significantly higher on hierarchical relationship expectations and existential defensiveness, and preferred a Christian psychology view of integration and a male headship perspective of leadership, compared to those scoring low on Calvinism and complementarianism. In contrast, individuals scoring low on both theological dimensions scored higher on Arminianism, gender egalitarianism, social justice commitment, intercultural competence commitment, religious exploration, and they preferred an integration view of psychology and theology and a “no restrictions” perspective on women's roles. Findings highlight implications for theological training and spiritual formation.

Abstract:
This was a study of marital adjustment among clergy who had attended a Presbyterian seminary and their spouses (N= 247). The proposed explanatory model that was tested was composed of earner status (dual or single earner families), role orientation, perceived stress related to work, perceived stress from family, perceived stress from the combination of work and family, and gender. Hierarchical regression procedures revealed that the model explained 15% of the total variance in marital adjustment (control variables explained 2% of this variance). In order of predictiveness, the relevant factors were: (a) perceived stress from work and family, (b) number of children age 5 and younger, (c) perceived stress from family, and (d) earner status. Implications of these findings are discussed.

Abstract:
Plastics have been heavily used in industries like automobile, manufacturing, electrical and electronics industry all over the world. Injection molding is one of the ways to process plastics polymers. However, one of the difficulties they have to face is to set the optimal parameter for the injection molding process. Incorrect parameter selection can lead to parts defects such as warpage, shrinkage, sink marks, weld marks and so on. In this study, the optimal process parameter of injection molding for manufacturing of plastic pallets which is used for warehousing was determined by the orthogonal array of Taguchi’s L9 which has 3 factors and 3 levels for each factor, experimental design, and Regression Analysis. The three main parameters such as Mold temperature, holding pressure and charging speed were choosen to study their effect on the Compressive strength. S/N ratios were utilized for determining the optimal set of parameters. According to the results, 230 °C of mold temperature, 98 RPM of charging speed, 25 MPa of Holding pressure make the products in the shape and proportion of the product satisfactory. Statically the most significant parameters were found to be as mold temperature and Charging speed for the Polypropylene moldings, respectively. Holding pressure had the least effect on the compressive strength of PP material. After the degree of significance of the studied process parameters was determined, the linear Regression model was generated and was shown to be an effective predictive tool for Compressive strength.

Abstract:
Investigating lay investment in the sacred sphere means first of all to clarifying historiography on laity, religion and money within Ancien Régime societies and their transposition to America, taking into account the multiple motivations of secular actors. The example of restitutions, donations and legacies inthe Andes enables us to explore the role of the Spanish laity and indigenous populations in the establishment of the dense network of Catholic institutions that was established during this period. The proposal postulates the role of lay actors in the construction of a Christian space in the Peruvian Andes in the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, when economic investment contributed to the transition from a society of war and conquest to a pacified, corporate society.KEY WORDS: Hispanic America-Andes, religion, economics, encomienda, 16th and 17th centuries.
