Abstract:
Nach der nationalsozialistischen Machtübernahme im Jahre 1933 wurde schon bald klar, dass es an der 1810 gegründeten Friedrich – Wilhelm – Universität zu Berlin, der größten deutschen Universität, zu einem Umbruch in der finanziellen und materiellen Ausstattung kommen würde. Bereits für das Rechnungsjahr 1934 wurde der Universität durch Erlass des Preußischen Ministers für Wissenschaft das Recht zur Aufstellung des jährlichen Haushaltsplanes entzogen. Damit war die Übernahme ihrer Einnahmen auf den Preußischen Staatshaushalt verbunden. Die Ausgabemittel für die Universität wurden nun im Staatshaushalt bereitgestellt. An die Stelle des Universitätshaushaltsplanes traten Kassenanschläge der Wissenschaftsverwaltung, in welchen den Fakultäten und Instituten die jährlichen Etatmittel zugewiesen wurden. Der staatliche Verwaltungsdirektor/Kurator überwachte deren Ausführung; denn ihm oblag die Aufsicht über das Haushalts- und Kassenwesen der Universität. Die Gründung der fünften und sechsten Fakultät sowie die Errichtung neuer (NS-) Institute wurde allein durch das Wissenschaftsministerium – weitgehend ohne Beteiligung der Universitätsleitung - entschieden. In der Folge stiegen die Etatmittel für das wissenschaftliche Personal exorbitant. - Die Betriebsmittel- und Geschäftsbedürfnisfonds der wissenschaftlichen Anstalten stagnierten auf dem Niveau der Jahre 1933/34. Investitionen in das Universitätsvermögen mussten hinter anderen für kriegswichtig erachteten Ausgaben des Deutschen Reiches zurückstehen. Selbst für die Behebung der Luftkriegsschäden an den Universitätsgebäuden standen Geldmittel nur in eingeschränktem Umfang zur Verfügung. Zudem verhinderte der eklatante Rohstoffmangel den Wiederaufbau. Bei Kriegsende 1945 war die Friedrich – Wilhelm – Universität zu Berlin in Trümmer gefallen.
After the national socialists came into power in 1933 it soon became clear, that financial and material changes were supposed to happen to the 1810 founded Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Berlin, Germany´s largest university by that time. Already for the financial year of 1934 the Prussian Ministry of Science revoked the right of the university, to put together the annual financial budget. Thus, its earnings were now being taken over by the Prussian state budget and its expenses allocated by the state budget. Instead of a university budget the state administration allocates a certain amount of money for the faculties and institutions. The State Director of Administration / Curator supervised their execution; because he was the one responsible for overseeing the budget and cash management of the university. The foundation of the fifth and sixth faculty as well as the construction of new National Socialists („NS“) Institutes was decided solely by the Ministry of Science – largely without the participation of the management of the university. As a consequence, the budget funds for scientific personnel increased exorbitantly. Operating funds and funds for business needs of the scientific institutions stagnated at the level of 1933 / 1934. Investments into the assets of the university had to stay back behind war expenditures that were deemed essential of the German Reich. Even for the elimination of the air warfare damages at the buildungs of the university funds were allocated only to a very limited extent. In addition, the glaring lack of raw materials made the reconstruction almost impossible. When the war ended in 1945 only ruins were left of the Friedrich – Wilhelms – University of Berlin.

Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), psicanalista dissidente austríaco, e Benedictus de Espinosa (1632- 1677), filósofo holandês, são autores cujas obras convergem na luta por um ser humano livre e ativo, contribuindo à composição de perspectivas educacionais voltadas ao desenvolvimento da potência humana. Este estudo teórico focaliza, no âmbito da educação, as ideias deixadas por esses dois pensadores. Para tanto, realizou-se, em especial, a leitura da Ética e do Tratado Teológico-Político, de Espinosa, e de Os pais como educadores I: a compulsão a educar e suas causas, Sobre o onanismo, A função do orgasmo e Psicologia de massa do fascismo, de Reich. Realizou-se, também, a tradução do artigo The parental attitude toward infantile masturbation, de Reich, assim como o acompanhamento de comentadores de ambos os autores. Reich e Espinosa denunciam uma vida tomada pelo medo irracional, que, todavia, persevera em existir no abandono de sua potência. O medo, portanto, não seria apenas um afeto útil à preservação da vida frente aos perigos, como também estaria envolvido na produção do desejo de submissão e da tendência à obediência, de modo que diferenciamos, acompanhando os autores, o medo de um mais-medo. Com relação à origem do estímulo, o medo corresponde a um perigo externo e real que ameaça a vida, e o mais-medo a um perigo interior e imaginário, relativo à satisfação do desejo. Quanto à determinação dessas reações, o medo constitui uma reação ativa, pois decorre da natureza mesma do sujeito. O mais-medo, por sua vez, é uma reação passiva, determinada por um processo de produção social e contraditório à sua natureza. O medo, portanto, não deve ser considerado uma fraqueza, mas expressão da potência natural do ser humano, ao passo que o mais-medo escraviza essa força promovendo impotência. Uma perspectiva educacional vinculada à moral autoritária e ao imaginário do sistema do medo só pode, portanto, contribuir à formação de indivíduos fragilmente constituídos, expropriados de sua potência de vida e desejosos de servir a qualquer um que se apresente como portador de uma força capaz de lhes garantir a própria existência. Nesse horizonte, uma educação para a potência não consiste em uma educação contra o medo, tarefa que abrigaria a abdicação a uma capacidade essencial humana. Pelo contrário, trata-se de uma formação pautada pela experiência e conhecimento de si, descoberta dos medos reais e combate ao mais-medo
Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957), Austrian dissentient psychoanalyst, and Benedictus de Spinoza (1632-1677), Dutch philosopher, are authors which works converge at the struggle for a free and active man, leading to the composition of educational perspectives heading human power. This theoretical study focus on the contributions, by both these thinkers, at the educational ambit. Thus, we have read Spinozas Theological-Political Treatise and Ethics and Reichs Parents as educators I: the compulsion to educate and its causes, About masturbation, The function of orgasm and Mass Psychology of fascism, as well as commentators of both authors. We have also translated Reichs article The parental attitude toward infantile masturbation. Reich and Spinoza denounce a life taken by fear, that strains yet in existing through the abandon of its power. Fear, therefore, is not only an useful affect in life preservation against dangers, but is also involved in the production of submission desire and the trend to obey, by which we differ, following the authors, the fear of a plus-fear. In relation to the stimulus origin, fear matches a real and external danger that threatens life, while plus-fear addresses an imaginary and internal fear, related to the satisfaction of desire. As to the determination of these reactions, fear constitutes an active reaction, as it follows the nature of the individual. Plus-fear, on the other hand, is a passive reaction determined by a process of social production, and contradictious to its nature. Fear, therefore, must not be considered a weakness but an expression of human being natural power, whilst plus-fear enslaves this power bringing about impotency. An educational perspective linked to the authoritarian moral and the images of the fear system can only, thus, contribute to the formation of fragile individuals expropriated of their life power and wishful of serving anyone that presents himself as conveying a transcendental power liable to guarantee his existence. In this horizon, an education to the power does not consist in an education against fear, assignment that would shelter the abdication of a essential human ability. On the contrary, it refers to a formation driven by experience and self knowledge, discovery of the real fears, and the struggle against plus-fear

Abstract:
Jürgen Habermas is a preeminent European intellectual who was a German teenager during World War II. He was profoundly impacted by the devastation wrought by the Nazi regime and the social regression that it embodied. He dedicated his intellectual efforts to studying philosophy and developing a theoretical framework that demonstrates how collaboration and unimpeded dialogue are consistent with the promotion of human interest and how there exist quasi-transcendent protections against threats to modern social progress. This thesis explicates how the Third Reich, from Habermas's perspective, exemplifies violence to Habermas's model of communicative action and how we can learn to better protect it, thereby stimulating more healthy social development.

This research is dedicated to withdraw the proceeds of the legal work developed by psychiatrist Wilhelm Reich. In this way, we start from a study between Marxism and psychoanalysis to explain how reichian psychoanalysis was used for a better understanding of our society. From the Reich´s social understanding, we did an analysis of his legal formulations, showing its limitations and the elements which can be used for a better understanding of law.
Esta pesquisa dedica-se a retirar os proveitos jurídicos do trabalho desenvolvido pelo psiquiatra Wilhelm Reich. Neste percurso, partimos de um estudo situado no campo do marxismo e da psicanálise para, posteriormente, explicar como a psicanálise reichiana foi utilizada para uma compreensão crítica de nossa sociedade. A partir das análises sociais de Reich, partimos para uma análise das suas formulações jurídicas, evidenciando suas limitações e os elementos que podem ser utilizados para uma melhor compreensão do direito.

Steve Reich est un compositeur d'apparence simple. Derrière cette évidence de la forme et des éléments qui la composent se cache la complexité: l'ambiguïté est érigée en système. Ainsi, le processus qui est, a priori, implacable, inexorable, réserve toujours une part de surprises. Par le déphasage graduel, on perd quelque peu pied. Les motifs résultants montrent la virtualité de la musique reichienne. Et que dire de cette attraction/répulsion pour l'électronique. Un trait essentiel de la création de Reich à partir de 1976 est la notion de cycles d'accords: ceux-ci exposés dès le début sont supposés revenir dans l'ordre. Bien souvent, les oeuvres issues de ce procédé sont comme des jeux de pistes. Le rapport au texte a évolué chez le compositeur. Dans les premières pièces, le sens est atomisé. Puis il y a une sémantisation qui aboutit à des oeuvres ethiques aprés 1990. Par exemple, Three Tales (2002) est une oeuvre de réflexion sur les dangers de la technologie au XXème siècle. Mais c'est aussi une oeuvre postmoderne et on sait combien cette notion est équivoque
Steve Reich seems to be a simple composer. But behind this obviousness of the form and of the elements wich make it up, hides a true complexity: ambiguity is set up as a system. Thus, the process which is at first relentless and inexorable always reserves a share of surprises. By phasing, one is slighty lost. The resulting patterns show the virtuality of the reichienne music. And what is there to think of Reich's attraction and repulsion as regards electronics. An essential feature of the creation of Reich since 1976 is the concept of chord cycles:: those exposed from the very start are supposed to return in the same order. Very often, the works resulting from this process turn out to be mazes. The connection with the text evolved with the composer. In the first pieces, the meaning is atomised. Then, there is an evolution towards a semantisation which leads to ethical works after 1990. For example, Three Tales (2002) is a work of reflexion on the dangers of technology in the twentieth century. But it is also a post-modern work and one knows how much this concept is questionable

Dal 1938 partono dalla provincia di Rovigo diversi scaglioni di lavoratori volontari per aziende agricole e ditte private della Germania centro settentrionale. Queste partenze sono regolate da accordi economici che sanciscono l'invio di manodopera in cambio di materie prime tra Italia e Germania. Le partenze vedono un afflusso di massa fino alla capitolazione del 1943. I motivi che spingono i polesani a partire sono le buone condizioni remunerative e un adeguato trattamento, questo riservato a tutto gli italiani. La situazione muterà drammaticamente a partire dall'estate '43, con un netto peggioramento nell'autunno, in quanto i lavoratori rimasti in Germania verranno trattati al pari dei prigionieri e in tutto il Veneto, compresa la provincia di Rovigo, avverranno rastrellamenti e si utilizzeranno metodi coercitivi per inviare forza lavoro in Germania.

L’historiographie du nazisme a bien mis en évidence l’importance accordée aux fêtes collectives entre 1933 et 1945. Rares sont toutefois les études à avoir signalé que ces fêtes étaient retransmises en direct sur les ondes. Le présent travail reprend donc l’analyse en la centrant sur le rôle de la radio. Les retransmissions étaient relayées par l’ensemble des stations et suivies dans le cadre d’écoutes collectives. De ces deux aspects, on peut déduire que les fêtes publiques étaient non seulement destinées aux spectateurs sur place, mais aussi et surtout au plus grand nombre possible d’auditeurs. D. Dayan et E. Katz désignent du terme de « cérémonies télévisées » les grands événements diffusés en direct à la télévision. Sur ce modèle, on peut qualifier les fêtes du IIIe Reich de cérémonies radiophoniques. I. Kershaw a montré en quoi Hitler avait exercé un pouvoir de nature charismatique. Ce type de pouvoir suppose que le chef et ses partisans entretiennent des rapports personnels. Cela n’était pas le cas dans la réalité. Les cérémonies radiophoniques contribuèrent cependant à créer l’illusion qu’il pouvait en être ainsi. Le pouvoir charismatique oblige le chef à apporter régulièrement la preuve de sa légitimité. En ce qu’elles rendaient visible le soutien populaire dont jouissait Hitler, les cérémonies radiophoniques furent un moyen de parvenir à ce but. Pour ces deux raisons, le dispositif peut être considéré comme une composante essentielle de la structure du pouvoir sous le IIIe Reich. Les cérémonies radiophoniques conduisirent enfin les Allemands à faire l’expérience de la « communauté du peuple » et à s’engager ainsi en faveur d’un projet fondamental du nazisme
Several studies since 1945 have elaborated the constitutive character of ceremonial acts for Hitler’s state. However the fact that the most important of these were live radio broadcasts has so far received little consideration. The aim of the present work is to remedy this omission and to analyze National Socialist celebrations regarding their relation to radio. The broadcasts were accepted by all stations and heard during community listening sessions. Thus one may conclude that the celebrations were not only to be experienced by the spectators present but by the population as a whole. From the beginning they were conceived as media celebrations. D. Dayan and E. Katz have coined the term “media events” for important, national or even worldwide events broadcasted live. Following this usage the National Socialist celebrations are called radio events in this work. I. Kershaw has shown to which extent Hitler’s role has been charismatic. This kind of domination presumes a personal relationship between the leader and the led. Although this was not actually practical during the Third Reich, the radio arrangement made it possible for the Germans to feel the “Führer” was speaking to them directly. Further radio events allowed those in power to display the unity of the people and the “Führer” and thereby to prove Hitler’s legitimacy. For both reasons one can claim that radio events were an important instrument to secure power. Radio events offered more than just an occasion to make the Volksgemeinschaft tangible. They contributed to the fact that the Volksgemeinschaft was experienced and understood not as an empty propaganda term, but rather as a political project worth supporting

Abstract:
The thesis is a study of Nazi family ideology and policy, and of the impact of the Nazi regime upon different types of family within German society. As such, it tackles an aspect of life in the Third Reich that has until now remained inadequately researched. This thesis advances the study of the subject by adding to existing knowledge, rather than by challenging the literature. It does not claim to answer every remaining question, but rather focuses in more detail on a number of specific areas. It considers the nature of Nazi family ideology, giving an overview of the eugenics movement and of Nazi policies towards the family. This is followed by a consideration of the dissemination of Nazi family ideals, by means of education and socialisation. Beyond these areas, the thesis does not deal with the 'average' or 'ordinary' German family, but focuses on areas that are less well-trodden in the secondary literature. It considers the families at different ends of the spectrum in the Third Reich - the Nazi 'ideal' or 'model' family, the kinderreich family, and the 'undesirable' family that did not fit into the Volksgemeinschaft. For the latter, 'asocial' and Jewish families are the categories selected for discussion, the former representing the 'socially unfit', and the latter, the 'racially inferior' or 'alien'. The concluding chapter presents an overview of the regime's ultimate legacy for the family in post-1945 Germany, not least the effects of the Second World War. It also gives an overall assessment of the regime's family policy and a discussion of how the Nazi period fits into the framework of the history of the German family.
