Abstract:
As augmented reality (AR) technology offers enhanced capabilities for medical simulation training, research is required to understand how to best leverage the strengths of AR. We describe a literature review that will provide the foundation for articulating and testing candidate principles for AR adaptive training design. Our goal is to articulate and test design principles for designing recognition skills training as described in the recognition-primed decision model (Klein, 1997). We identified seminal articles from the the Naturalistic Decision Making literature, and used those to seed a systematic review of the medical education and combat medic training literatures. Findings from the literature review suggest three categories of candidate design principles: 1) fidelity and realism, 2) engagement, and 3) scaffolding. Next steps will include articulating specific design principles and designing a series of studies to test them using the VPIT AR training platform.

Abstract:
This paper is intended as a brief critical review of three interrelated, fairly similar critical theories, born out the necessity of looking into cultural forms and products with a view to finding the politics at work therein. While American New Historicism is more historically oriented, British Cultural Materialism, with its more obvious influence from Marxism, Postcolonialism and other theories which place the margin at their centre, seems to be more in tune with contemporaneity, and so is the area of Cultural Studies, with its emphasis on cultural representations. It is advocated here that contemporary fiction cannot be fully separated from other textual forms, which are considered here historiographic (not historical) because of their nature of texts produced subjectively, within a certain political, social and cultural context, irrespective of their assumed scientific objectivity. Literature, it is further argued, has become a discourse-oriented endeavour with an active participation, an idea supported in the present study by making reference to several critical and polemic writings by Salman Rushdie, which, in a topsyturvy, postmodernist manner, are foregrounded before, and not after the literature review proper.

Abstract:
Choi Hyun pursued practical studies. In his official life, he pointed out the shortcomings of politics at the time through letters to the king, and during the war, he sent letters to his superiors to directly discuss the pros and cons of military administration. Through the Imjin War and the Byeongjaeran, he created many works related to practical public works such as people's livelihood, national defense, military law, astronomy, geography, history, and mathematics. It is noteworthy that he did not leave behind any works related to Neo-Confucianism, despite being taught and associated with Neo-Confucian scholars. Choi Hyun had a very difficult political life, including exile and false accusations, because he spoke the truth and had no reservations with a strong and spirited attitude. He also lived an unfortunate life personally, with his wife and children dying early due to illness. He diagnosed the reality of the time as an era of concern and emphasized that the only way to overcome it was to “strive for practicality and preserve sincerity.” In order to restore the era of upheaval, he discussed the successes and failures and gains and losses of the past and present, always presenting fundamental solutions. The claims that “both the fundamental and the branches should be considered” and “the end and the beginning should be consistent” are examples of this. Choi Hyun used sincere content, logical composition, and simple and ordinary sentences. He rejected flashy writing and sought writing that contained the ideas of a gentleman. He also sought sentences that conveyed the content and meaning of the text. Choi Hyun wrote novels, Hangul songs, and travel diaries. He created 141 poems in Chinese. The contents include object recognition and self-cultivation, the horrors of war, bureaucratic anxiety, family hardships, and the exploits of heroes. In his letters, he mentioned the fundamental methods of preparing for war and argued for establishing discipline and fairly administering military law. In his letters to the king, he requested the king to innovate the shortcomings and save the politics of the time based on his critical awareness of real problems. Choi Hyun is a unique literary figure who created literary works in various ways. He used Hangul and Chinese characters simultaneously to create his works, and his methods were diverse, including novels, songs, poems, diaries, and practical writings. Based on in-depth research on In-jae's life and scholarship, we look forward to a comprehensive study of his role and status in the political and academic world at the time, and his influence on future generations.

Abstract:
Throughout the entire history of mankind, literature has been a fact of the time of its creation. When we look at the issue both in a universal context and in a local one, we see approximately the same picture. Just as Homer is a fact of ancient Greece, the work of the genius Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi of the 12th century is considered to be the fact of the mighty Seljuk Empire, the state of the Atabays of Azerbaijan. Khagani Shirvani's literary heritage, dominated by rebellious and grievous motives, was a literary phenomenon caused by the state of the Shirvanshahs, the Akhsitan dynasty. The invasion of the Mongols, the invasion of Emir Timur, the period-specific manifestations of discontent against oppression and slavery, the spread of philanthropy and the phenomenon of Imadaddin Nasimi.. The work of Alishir Navai, the Uzbek-Chagatai poet and statesman of the 15th century, the author of the first “Khamsa” in Turkic, and the great Turkic culture, which was called the Timurid renaissance, were echoes of Huseyn Baygara's rule which lasted 37 years, in culture, science and literature. The establishment of the Safavid state of Azerbaijan in the XVI century and the fact that Azerbaijan remained the “metropolis and central province of the state” (Efendiyev, 2007: 11) throughout the century, the domestic and foreign policy has had a direct impact on the change of the direction of literature. The biggest event was the stabilization of the tradition of writing in the Azerbaijani language, the preference for the folk language, and the rapid development of ashug poetry. If in the literature of three centuries ago there was a palace splendor, then in the poetry of this period there is already a roar of battlefields, heroic motives surpass love poems, ashug poetry, which is closer to the people, and therefore has a lot of influence and propaganda power. The 18th century Azerbaijani literature is also a “mirror that shows the straight and the crooked” of its time. The article examines the most important events in the history of Azerbaijan of the XVIII century, their influence on the development of literature and features of their reflection in artistic works.

Abstract:
In England, realism was formed very quickly, because it appeared immediately after the Enlightenment, and its formation occurred almost simultaneously with the development of Romanticism, which did not hinder the success of the new literary movement. The peculiarity of English literature is that in it romanticism and realism coexisted and enriched each other. Examples include the works of two writers, Elizabeth Gaskell and Charlotte Bronte. However, the discovery and confirmation of realism in English literature is primarily associated with the legacy of Charles Dickens (1812-1870) and William Makepeace Thackeray (1811-1863). The works of Charles Dickens differ not only in the strengthening of the real social moment, but also in the previous realist literature. Dickens has a profoundly negative effect on bourgeois reality. Key words: England, realism, literary trend, bourgeois society, utopia, unjust life, artistic description

Abstract:
The debate, whether literature (art) can represent reality and life well has not been concluded, coming to no universal validity, since the time of Plato. The critics and the connoisseurs of art vary in their arguments for and against, some argue that literature represents reality and life and others deny it. They value and judge literature according to their own taste and subjective impression, it is claimed not only to be realistic but also fantastic, the frenzy of human imagination. Despite all the assertions against it, most of the literary critics have accepted that literature is a representation of life, though Plato has expelled the poets from his well run republic. Modern criticism of English literature takes its major impetus from Henry James for he is the first critic who speaks about representation of reality and life in literature, in novel. He has given prominent status to novel with an argument that it represents life better and more faithfully than any other genre of literature. For the discussion of the representation of realty in literature, Henry James’ Art of Fiction has been taken into account and MLA VIII has been used for citing the works.

Abstract:
In this article, we provide the nontechnical reader with a fundamental understanding of the components of virtual reality (VR) and a thorough discussion of the role VR has played in social science. First, we provide a brief overview of the hardware and equipment used to create VR and review common elements found within the virtual environment that may be of interest to social scientists, such as virtual humans and interactive, multisensory feedback. Then, we discuss the role of VR in existing social scientific research. Specifically, we review the literature on the study of VR as an object, wherein we discuss the effects of the technology on human users; VR as an application, wherein we consider real-world applications in areas such as medicine and education; and VR as a method, wherein we provide a comprehensive outline of studies in which VR technologies are used to study phenomena that have traditionally been studied in physical settings, such as nonverbal behavior and social interaction. We then present a content analysis of the literature, tracking the trends for this research over the last two decades. Finally, we present some possibilities for future research for interested social scientists.

Abstract:
In its interpretation of the opposition ‘national literature – world literature’ as defined by Goethe in 1827 the article relies on the dialectic of the hermeneutic circle, related to Goethe’s idea in the general context of the Classical-Romantic utopia of aesthetic humanism. Analyzing Goethe’s statements about world literature, one finds that his tentative concept did not suggest universal surrender of national-specific differences, but rather integration of national literatures (with all of their unique features) as relatively autonomous but mutually conditioned elements of a single literary communication supersystem. According to Goethe, each national literature established itself by involvement in the developing existence of a whole, without losing its identity to an amorphous composite of literatures. By fully preserving its individuality, it in fact joined in a special polyphonic order: a unity of diversity and interpenetration. Goethe, therefore, laid the foundations of a new philological discourse, which gave rise to comparative literary studies as a new scholarly discipline.

Virtual Reality (VR) is becoming more popular as a treatment option for many phobias. We present a method that uses virtual reality in treatment to cure acrophobia in this research. Acrophobia is an anxiety condition that occurs when a person is exposed to heights. The goal of our study is to see whether Virtual Reality technology can be used to treat acrophobia. We conducted a comprehensive literature evaluation on publications relevant to acrophobia and virtual reality that were located on Google Scholar using a keyword-based search strategy. We noticed that the majority of papers involve more than two persons as a sample and use virtual reality exposure treatment. The participants' anxiety levels decrease with each exposure, suggesting that VR-based exposure might be employed as an acrophobic alternative treatment.

Abstract:
In recent years, there has been a notable rise in the utilization of augmented reality within educational settings. However, there is still room for improvement in early childhood education. This study aims to investigate how current augmented reality works in early childhood education between 2017 and 2022 using library research methodology. The study's content was analyzed based on the case studies on integrating augmented reality in early school education between 2017 and 2022. 26 studies were found when the keyword "Augmented Reality in early school" was used to start the study (in primary school). With a sample size of fewer than 21 kids, early literacy discovered that Science (Animals, Newton) was the most frequently used subject. Regarding data collection techniques, testing has emerged as the dominant technique in research of "marker-based" augmented reality on mobile devices. These findings help to clarify the best ways to use this technology in early learning settings. Over the past five years, the number of schools using augmented reality in early childhood education has steadily increased.

Abstract:
In Augmented Reality systems, virtual objects are combined with real objects, both three dimensional, interactively and at run-time. In an ideal scenario, the user has the feeling that real and virtual objects coexist in the same space and is unable to differentiate the types of objects from each other. To achieve this goal, research on rendering techniques have been conducted in recent years. In this paper, we present a Systematic Literature Review aiming to identify the main characteristics concerning photorealism in Mixed and Augmented Reality systems to find research opportunities that can be further exploited or optimized. The objective is to verify if exists a definition of photorealism in Mixed and Augmented Reality. We present a theoreticalfundamental over the most used methods concerning realism in Computer Graphics. Also, we want to identify the most used methods and tools to enable photorealism in Mixed and Augmented Reality systems.

Abstract:
Since half of the century, technology has dominated the modern era. The rapid advancement of technology has reached generating artificial intelligence and artificial realities. So, virtual reality is an emerging technology and is applicable in education as well. Virtual reality is a computer-generated simulation, where people can interact within an artificial environment. Moreover, in an educational setting, such an environment provides students with a chance to get experiential learning. This paper has a systematic literature review on emerging technologies, such as virtual reality as a pedagogical tool for enhancing students’ experiential learning. This review aims to explore and understand the effect of virtual reality on students’ experiential learning by reviewing twenty-six selected articles. The selected studies have followed various methodologies and are from different contexts. This review study aims to present a systematic literature review for understanding and exploring the effect of virtual reality as a pedagogical tool for enhancing students’ experiential learning. Nine themes were identified, which are (a) virtual reality as pedagogical tool, (b) virtual reality as emerging educational technology tool, (c) virtual reality as digital transformation, (d) virtual reality as teaching-learning model, (e) virtual reality as architectural pedagogy, (f) virtual reality for communication skills, (g) virtual reality for reading and writing skills, (h) virtual reality for social learning, and (i) virtual reality for experiential learning. Thus, it is found that virtual reality is used as a pedagogical tool for various subject areas for encouraging involvement. It is helpful in medical, engineering, language, and social learning, as it provides a chance to get first-hand experience of the environment. Also, it helps learners to engage in a presented virtual environment and experience the sense of presence in it and enhances students’ experiential learning. Therefore, this review found virtual reality as an essential pedagogical tool for strengthening students’ experiential learning.

Abstract:
This study represents a systematic literature review in which we explored the locomotion techniques in virtual reality between 2012 and 2019. We analysed and compared 22 locomotion methods that we have identified in 26 papers included in our review. The objective is to better understand relevant locomotion techniques and their impact on the user experience. The review of the literature has shown a wide range of different locomotion techniques which each technique is characterized by different advantages and drawbacks, but classic locomotion techniques such as joystick outperformed all the proposed technique in the reviewed studies. We also proposed a taxonomy and two types of evaluation for locomotion techniques in virtual environment. These elements provide guidelines that may help researchers to choose the most adapted locomotion technique according to the aim of their study.

Abstract:
The utilization of extended reality (ER) has been increasingly explored in the medical field over the past ten years. A comprehensive analysis of scientific publications was conducted to assess the applications of ER in the field of diagnostic imaging, including ultrasound, interventional radiology, and computed tomography. The study also evaluated the use of ER in patient positioning and medical education. Additionally, we explored the potential of ER as a replacement for anesthesia and sedation during examinations. The use of ER technologies in medical education has received increased attention in recent years. This technology allows for a more interactive and engaging educational experience, particularly in anatomy and patient positioning, although the question may be asked: is the technology and maintenance cost worth the investment? The results of the analyzed studies suggest that implementing augmented reality in clinical practice is a positive phenomenon that expands the diagnostic capabilities of imaging studies, education, and positioning. The results suggest that ER has significant potential to improve diagnostic imaging procedures’ accuracy and efficiency and enhance the patient experience through increased visualization and understanding of medical conditions. Despite these promising advancements, further research is needed to fully realize the potential of ER in the medical field and to address the challenges and limitations associated with its integration into clinical practice.
