Bensalem, Said. "Construction du rapport au risque professionnel et santé psychique au travail : une question de genre ? Le cas de conducteurs et conductrices de bus." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Toulouse 2, 2023. http://www.theses.fr/2023TOU20057.
In the field of the social and occupational psychology, it is at the crossroads of two research themes - health at work and occupational risk - that our research is situated, with the aim of analysing, the as yet little-documented, issue of inequalities in health at work between men and women. Our thesis looks at a counter-stereotypical occupational integration for women - in this case, female bus drivers - to examine, firstly, whether it is possible to establish differences in psychological health between these female bus drivers and their male counterparts, and secondly, whether these differences can be linked to gendered relationships to occupational risk, which is omnipresent in this profession. This analysis is being conducted from the angle of a psychosocial approach to relationships between spheres of life, based on the model of plural socialisation developed in the LPS-DT Laboratory: the aim is to look beyond the subjects' professional sphere alone (by taking into account experiences of risk in other spheres of life) in order to understand both the construction of health at work and the construction of the relationship to occupational risk and their interrelationships. The clinical approach adopted for this research mobilizes several methodologies: observation of the activity in situation, on board the buses; a task of verbal association around the notions of risk and occupational risk; individual interviews (three per subject). This in-depth approach was applied to a sample of six bus drivers employed by the same transport company.Analysis of the data collected showed that the differences identified between men and women do not so much concern the level of psychological health at work as the processes by which it is constructed. We were also able to establish the existence of differences in the relationship to occupational risk, characterised on the basis of singular articulations between several of its dimensions (representation of risk; coping strategies with risk; risk-taking behaviour): we also identified a 'male consonance' and a 'female dissonance' within these relationships. The study of intersignification processes to account for the construction of such gendered relationships to occupational risk showed that the extension of the field of intersignification also differs between female and male bus drivers; an extended field for women, a field 'limited' to professional experience for most of the men, which can have an impact on attitudes towards occupational risk and mental health at work. However, beyond these gendered differences, it is also the singular positions towards risk, presented by this or that subject within each sub-group - men/women - that the processes of intersignification of risk experiences in different areas of life can shed light on; personalisation opens up perspectives here which – without denying the effect of gendered acculturation – make it possible to go beyond them. The results of this thesis invite us to reconsider the place of occupational risk in the bus driver's job, with the aim to developing preventive practices. As well as being an objective variable linked to the work situation, risk must also be considered in its subjective dimension - the relationship to risk -, constructed at individual level, as we have shown, but also at the level of the work group, where it could be the subject of specific work as part of a prevention approach

The legislation devoted to the occupational. Hazard (health and safety at work, industrial accidents) currently passes through. A crisis of effectiveness and identity, which invites to, draw up a positive and critical, state of this legislation. The aim of this thesis is to, draw up this state, in a spirit of objectivity and on the bases of a distinction between the problems of acknowledgment (how to improve the acknowledgment of the risks related to the working conditions) and attribution (what justifies that certain risks are attributed to, the employers of the people concerned). It tends to define the conditions favourable to the development of a rational policy of prevention and compensation concerning the occupational hazards : first, the creation of a unified legal category of "occupational hazard", with which would be associated a mode of acknowledgment characterized by a coherent distribution of powers and, duties between the authorities, experts and the concerned people ; secondly, the identification of the main functions assigned to the legal status of the occupational hazard (prevention of risks, sharing of the compensation charges), in order to draw limits of this status in a more precise way, as well for the potential victims ("workers") as for the designated persons in charge ("employers")
Maizières, Frédéric. "Le rapport à la musique des enseignants du premier degré : rapport personnel, rapport professionnel." Thesis, Nancy 2, 2009. http://www.theses.fr/2009NAN21019/document.
This thesis aims at describling, explaining and understanding the diversity of teaching pratices as far as music in primary schools is concerned, according to a large number of variables, like primary teachers relation with music for instance. Music, ever since it has become a proper school subject, has seemed to be suffering from a lack of teaching for social, instutional but also personal reasons. Indeed, musical activities at primary schools seem to be more closely related to the teacher who is in charge of this subject than to the curriculum. It’s a quite common to consider that the musical knowledge acquired thanks to personal experiences and practices, should justify the music teacher’s role. However exploraty studies show that even if teaching practices depend on the teacher’s relation with music, the link between personal and professional relation with music is not simple. It may not be that different on that particular point from other subjects, music in primary schools seems to be more a question of values that call out teacher in their teaching ride rather than in their subject knowledge. A link between ethical and esthetic values could help us to understand the reasons why teachers teach music to pupils

The notion of occupational risk appears at the end of the 19th century. It is intended as a remedy for the inadequacy of the principles of civil liability as applied to workplace victims. A person injured while working for the benefit of industry must obtain reparation. The concept of the workplace accident is born, although its applicability is strictly limited. The evolution of labor organizations reveals other shortcomings and leads to the expansion of the principle. Starting from a notion of liability applied to the occurrence of a pre-determined hazard, occupational risk becomes the expression of a right to workplace safety. Labor acquires a decision-making power in this regard. At the intersection of french social security law, labor law and public health law, the designated objectives evolve in the light of related human and financial issues. New concepts stimulate labor relations. The right to employee safety can no longer be dissociated from a basic right to health. Beyond that, the principle of workplace well-being makes its appearance. It is still necessary to resolve the uncertainties that influence the concept of occupational risk. As a notion with fluctuating boundaries, it is essential to define it. The stakes are high
Barège, Dominique. "Le rapport au savoir professionnel des enseignants du premier degré : le cas du rapport au référentiel de compétences en début de parcours professionnel." Toulouse 2, 2005. http://www.theses.fr/2005TOU20024.
This research deals with the evolution of the link to professional knowledge of primary school teachers and in particular the link that students, trainne teachers and graduates have with the frame of reference of skills. The issue leads to two hypotheses connecting the evolution of the link to the frame of reference with the "in-order-to motives" of the staff, that is to say the projected situation of the actors in the perspective of the CRPE (competitive exam to recruit primary school teachers), of starting on the job and during the career. This study is based on the results of a survey done with a questionnaire and auditions. The analysis of the data has shown three distinctive phases of professionalisation. In each of these phases, the role of the frame of reference as a support and an orientation of the professionalisation applies only secondarily and always via the mediation of "in-order-to motives"
Euriat, Nicolas. "Transformation de l'enseignement professionnel et rapport au savoir des enseignants : enjeux autour des projets pluridisciplinaires à Caractère Professionnel." Thesis, Nancy 2, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007NAN21024/document.
This thesis is an attempt to shed light on the stakes revealed by the introduction of a specific innovative teaching method, which has played a key role in the evolution of the teaching practices in French technical schools (vocational education in secondary schools). Since the 2000 school year, within the framework of the reform specific to the Integrated Vocational Educational programme, multi-disciplinary projects based upon professional objectives have been introduced as a nationwide practice in vocational education. It seems to be obvious that this research work goes beyond the simple study of these projects and deal with further questioning. Thus, the objective of the present work is to mobilise an approach in terms of knowledge-based relation within the study of the transformations specific to educational system by considering a particular public, that of teachers. More precisely this thesis will examine to which extent the teachers’ knowledge-based relation is a crucial element into the implementation of a particular reform aimed at transforming educational programmes in technical schools. The theoretical and disciplinary framework of this thesis is mainly based on that of the Sociology of Education, but it will naturally use some elements from that of the Sociology as well as that of the Sciences of Education

In professional football, injuries have a negative influence on performance, economy and health. Despite an increased focus on prevention of injury in football, it is of concern that injuries have not reduced in this cohort over the past 11 seasons. Due to the significant and negative impact of injuries in professional football it is of interest to prevent such injuries from occurring. It is important to determine new methods and processes to detect and prevent injuries in professional footballers. Additionally, within the scientific research literature there are conflicting results and ongoing debates in regards to risk factors, testing and preventative exercises for non-contact injury in professional football. Scientific research should aim to influence practice by either validating or refuting certain processes and procedures, however, there is currently a gap between science and practice (Bishop, 2008). Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to (a) investigate new and innovative methods to detect and prevent non-contact injuries at the highest level of professional male football and (b) (b) to reduce the gap between science and practice. Studies: The specific research studies conducted in this thesis were (1) Risk factors, testing and preventative strategies for non-contact injuries in professional football: Current perceptions and practices of teams from 44 premier leagues. (2) Risk factors, testing and preventative strategies for non-contact injuries in professional football: A systematic review, (3) Reliability and sensibility of a simple isometric posterior lower limb muscle test in professional soccer players, (4) Effect of an injury prevention program on injury rate in a professional football team participating in European competition. Conclusion: The present thesis successfully reduced the gap between science and practice by revealing the top 3 perceptions and practices of top-level football teams concerning risk factors (previous injury, fatigue, muscle imbalance), testing (functional movement screen, questionnaire, isokinetic) and preventative exercises (eccentric, balance/proprioception and hamstring eccentric). A systematic review of the research literature provided a scientific level of evidence for the top 3 risk factors, while both a scientific level of evidence and overall graded recommendation was provided for the top 3 tests and preventative exercises. A simple and practical test to assess the isometric force of the posterior lower limb muscles was verified and implemented successfully in the professional football setting. The test was found to be both reliable and sensitive enough to detect changes in force following a competitive soccer match. Finally, an injury prevention program with high compliance was successfully and effectively implemented in a top-level team competing in European competition and significantly reduced injury rates even when playing during a congested match period i.e. 2 matches per week. The present thesis can help to guide practitioners in using the current best evidence based practice. Additionally, from a research perspective, the findings provides researchers with avenues of where to concentrate future research concerning injury prevention in professional football

There are two hypotheses in this research: 1/ The drug addicts subjective relation to risk-taking (ordalique) differs from the anorexic subjects one (sacrificial). 2/ The relation to risk taking depends on the psychic organization and its level of archaism (borderline / psychosis). The population (n=150) is composed of 60 drug addicts, 30 women with restrictive anorexia nervosa, 60 subjects of a group control. The Barrat Impulsivity Scale (BIS), the Sensation Seeking Scale (SSS), the Ordalique Behaviour Scale (QFO), The Apter Metamotivational Style Scale (ESMA) The Karolinska Psychodynamic Profil (KAPP), the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) and its Psychodynamic Profil (PPTAT) are used to evaluate risk taking and personality organization. The results confirm our both hypotheses in regard to the population and the statistical tests

The metamorphosis of occupational hazard has its sources in the mutation of the representation of factual occupational hazard that led to the consecration of the notion of occupational disease. Substituted for the occupational accident as the centre of gravity of the occupational hazards law, it becomes the impetus for a new reflection about the legal concept of occupational hazard causing the mutation of occupational hazard taken charge of. This metamorphosis in the Social Security law, allows the reactivation of the employer's duty to ensure security that radiates labour law and causes the assertion of the workers’ right to health and safety. Therefore, the compensation of damages to workers’ health is considerably extended. However, this construction is fraught with obstacles, and is accompanied by inconsistencies that must be overcome

The profession of anesthesiologist is considered as stressful profession, frequently associated with health problems. The objective of this study was to specify the risk and vulnerability factors of burnout in anesthesia physicians. For this, our doctoral work included two empirical studies. The first concerned the psychometric validation of three questionnaires, the Brief-Cope (coping), the DERS (emotional regulation) and the MBl (burnout). The second concerned the risk factors for burnout among Syrian anesthetists.Study 1 - we carried out a classic work of translation, retro-translation, then study of the validity and the reliability of the three tools (Brief-Cope, the DERS, MB I) among 960 Syrian students. The results show that the validity of Arabic versions of the 3 tools is good.Study 2: We conducted a study with 60 anesthesiologists. The sociodemographic characteristics and levels of burnout, depression, coping strategies and emotional regulation were measured. The results show a link between burnout, depression, anxiety, coping strategies and emotional regulation. We note significant differences of burnout with the type, family status, age and number of working hours that are discussed. Our validated questionnaires will enable research in Arabic-speaking countries. Thus, the health risks of professionals, especially women, can be better understood

This thesis deals with scientists facing occupational risks due to radioactivity in France, from 1901 to 1967. Scientists are indeed at the same time victims of the dangers of radiations, experts on the hazardous substances and in charge of the organisation of protection. My study explores their role in the process of risks management and regulation and confronts it to the daily scientific practices in laboratories, through the examples of several laboratories in distinct scientific disciplines: the Laboratoire Curie, at the Radium Institute of Paris during the interwar period and the Laboratory of Nuclear Chemistry, the Laboratory of Nuclear Physics and the Laboratory of Biophysics of Strasbourg, after 1945. This history is thus part of an History of Sciences and Medicine, but is also closed to central topics of an History of Environmental Hazards, especially when it comes to risks in the workplace due to toxic substances. It also takes into account gender issue in the setting of regulation and protection against radiations

This PHD research , about teaching of writing in vocational school, takes place in a ICE project leaded by the social purpose of reducing school inequities. The main purpose of this research-action project was to create an educational tool which helps improving writing skills for pupils in vocational school, especially pupils in GA ‘s classrooms. The first part of my work was to make a diagnosis by trying to identify difficulties which can be specific to this pupils (and more specifically academic difficulties linked to the “scholar capital”). We collected and analyzed pupils written pieces and we proceeded to a survey trying to identify “des compétences ignorées”(Penloup, 2007) and difficulties of the pupils. During this period of the PHD research, we also observed classroom situations trying to identify breaks and levers in teaching practices. We gave a particular attention to practices which can participate, without the knowledge of teachers, to social inequities in class, practices that can obstruct learning for some pupils (Bautier & Rayou, 2014).The second step of this work consisted in creating a new educational tool especially for the classrooms involved in this project and to offer this tool to the teachers. Starting from the premise that the difficulties in writing of these pupils were linked to their representations of writing, we decided to offer an integrative approach of writing skill which associate some linguistics and reflexives activities to written production. The main idea was that, if we wanted to help the writing skills progress of this pupils, we must work on writing abilities and relation to writing in a transversal approach of literacy skills.Data’s collected allowed us to identify pupil’s difficulties not fully investigated yet : punctuation marks, paragraphs, tacit marks in written conversation…We also discovered some interesting facts about this pupils and their teachers’ representations about writing and their consequences in teaching and learning writing at vocational school context. These data allowed to find some original perspective to get a new reflexion about teaching writing. The results of the experimentation leaded to prove that we can act positively on writing skills and writing representations in a same way. The results show that we can have a positive action on the discursive abilities of pupils considered like the “weakest” by using high degree and very reflexive writing activities. We can also see a positive effect on pupils and teachers’ representations of writing. Finally, this collaboration with the teachers of two GA classroom shows that research-action coud be a way to support professional development of teachers

“Sir, we must close the borders, and quickly! ", These are the words of one of my students following the attacks of November 13, 2015 which left many victims. Borders crystallize tensions and are frequently at the center of the news, which is confirmed by the example of the health crisis linked to COVID-19. A polysemous term, the "border" covers various realities for a multitude of actors. It is, moreover, very difficult to resolve the ambiguities around its definition. In fact, borders divide within society: their management, their uses, their very existence are subject to debate. These boundaries are present in the news but also at school through the school curricula and the questions offered in the recruitment competitions for history-geography and literature-history teachers. The peculiarities of borders and their existence in school make it a socially lively issue, the specificities of which should be taken into account to ensure adequate didactic treatment. In this doctoral research, we approach the controversial issue of borders in a didactic framework: consequently the analysis is situated in relation to knowledge. This knowledge is multiple, of varied natures, and their interactions are numerous. By situating our work in geography, the analysis of the relationship to knowledge is first and foremost related to the students' relationship to the world, in other words their geography. This geography is likely to evolve due to the themes addressed at school; yet borders are the creators of geography. In addition, this research takes place in a particular place: the vocational school. Training places for most of the workers and employees of tomorrow, vocational high schools welcome students with special profiles since they are part of a specific professional project as soon as they enter high school. School is not the only place of learning for these students who are for 22 weeks in a company training period during their vocational baccalaureate course. More or less educationally dominated, these young people have often conflicting relations with school. This thesis proposes to study borders within the school framework of the vocational high school and to propose didactic avenues that can be used in the classroom to help teachers to manage this very particular controversial issue

This thesis investigates women’s working conditions in France to give an account of the difficulties of establishing links between those conditions and the development of certain cancers. This investigation implies getting familiar with the ways biological and cultural differences are being held as arguments to explain feminine particularities of cancers. Using a sexual division of labour approach, this research aims to understand why the hypothesis of carcinogenic harms to health in the workplace would only be plausible to explain men’s cancers. Which elements are used to undermine the professional etiology in the explication of women’s cancers? Are we taking into account concrete, empirical and contextualized differences or is it a differentiation process, constructed in a visibilization/invisibilization interplay of men’s and women’s work? This thesis claims that women are affected by an invisibilization phenomenon of the carcinogenic harms to their health in the workplace. The processes of differentiation between men and women are (re)producing themselves at macro, meso and microsocial levels; they are present in the construction of knowledge, in the production of conditions for recognition of the occupational disease, in social mobilisations and in the subjective relation between the individuals and their work and risks

Context - Regarding the natural history of occupational asthma (OA), there is increasing evidence that the inflammatory process leading to clinical asthma appears early after inception of exposure. The ABCD study (French acronym for early asthma in bakery and hairdressing) aims to answer two objectives: 1) describe the temporal evolution of the OA incidence in the early years of exposure of bakers/pastry-makers (BP) and hairdressers - occupations known at risk of OA - and 2) identify personal, occupational and nutritional risk factors. Method - The ABCD study has two intertwined facets: (i) a retrospective longitudinal cohort of past apprentices of increasing seniority allowing to estimate the early incidence of OA, and (ii) a nested case-control study allowing to explore some risk factors of OA. Results - 866 subjects participated to the study. The ABCD study shows a high cumulative incidence of OA during the first 4 years of exposure among BP, and in a lesser extent, among hairdressers. While the OA risk depends on atopic status for BP, it is positively associated, for hairdressers, with exposure intensity and, to a lesser extent, to body mass index and with a variety of nutritioal factors. Conclusions - This study produced original data on early incidence of OA. These data may provide support for the development of preventive action, in particular for the detection of OA in the early years of exposure

This research focuses on the inclusion of students with cognitive impairment in an "Inclusive Localised School Unit" (Unité Localisée d’Inclusion Scolaire-ULIS) of a vocational high school. At the core of this experience is the issue of the informal training of teachers in contact with these students. The 'extra-ordinary' student (set as an analyser) triggers the possibility of a switch of focus and the reconsideration of the role of the adolescent, in the context of lifelong learning. Potentially destabilising, this experience of 'otherness' allows teachers to re-think their encounter with an emancipating view. By highlighting the role of the 'extra-ordinary' student in the informal training of teachers, this experience identifies and captures the dynamics of roles at play in the interaction between 'teachers' and 'students', and questions the role of 'other' in the self-learning process. During the co-construction and change process that emerges, the search for understanding creates an opportunity for experiential learning (praxis process) for teachers. Consciously or not, this experience of inclusion carries a potential for transformation for teachers as well as students. The different phases of transformation identified in this work reveal the impact for students and illustrate the paths of identity building they travel throughout their education in a vocational school. The ordinary is no more when put in perspective with the exceptional

Since the 1960’s, the question of sexual difference at school has arisen from debates within feminist movements. Several studies have thus uncovered a paradox: girls have more success at school, yet they do not have access to the most valued orientations even amongst vocational trainings. This research does not question this analysis. Within the setting of the years 2000, our ambition was however to specifically examine what common sense and media debates have recognized in terms of underachievement of boys who come from the working class. The ethnographic inquiry that we conducted in a tertiary vocational school in the suburbs of Paris aims at highlighting the different ways of being and ways of acting of boys and girls from working classes. Our observation of classroom settings, of areas of school life, and of interstitial spaces, our quantitative and qualitative analysis of incident reports led us to consider girls and boys school experience in terms of a relational approach, as a co-experience embedded in relationships of gender and social class domination. This analysis leads us to conclude that girls are able to manage with school and gender injunctions, whilst boys are more frequently at risk of a rupture from school

Legal persons are commonly regarded as incomplete "legal beings" in comparison with natural persons and as dedicated only to carry on their activity. Yet the French Court of Cassation said they could be protected by the non-professional qualification in French consumer law. However, the finalist understanding of the application criterion for this qualification makes it ineffective against these persons. The transition from a monolithic conception of legal persons to an exploded view, coupled with a new understanding of the application criterion allows the emergence of a non-professional legal person, clarifying consumer law and personality rights of artificial persons. Legal persons can thus be considered as legal entities different from individuals but complete however

A theoretical first part therefore proposes a critical analysis of the litterature allowing to identify that the scope of this risk exceeds the psychological and social plans and relies on an organizational dimension which brings us to qualify it as a psycho-socio-organisational risk (RPSO). In the same way, positions are taken concerning psychological health, in particular on one of this components, psychological well-being, particulary impacted by the RPSO. Health affectations, burnout and work addiction are presented and discussed, in particular with regard to thier links with a special focus on the Job Demands-Resources model (J-DR). A second experimental part of this thesis consists of three studies. First of all, a research (N = 342 job counsellors) has been deducted to identify organizational indicators of burnout, work addiction and psychological well-being. The, a research ( N = 230 agents of the same hotel / catering company) quetsioning the structure of the methotologies used in the evaluation and in the prevention of the RPSO (interviews, activites analysis ans questionnaires). Finally, an emphasize is put on the activity analysis described fu feedbacks from an intervention conducted at a regional French pension and work health agency (CARSAT). To conclude, a last part of questions the praxis concerning the methodology to estimate and prevent the RPSO and the position of the psychologist / ergonomist in these intervention

Vocational schools have been created with the purpose of establishing a balance between academic education and job-specific training, in order to reinforce the workforce. Thus, this institution has experienced several changes following the economic and social developments. Vocational schools impart two kinds of education: theoretical and professional training. This combination distinguishes the vocational education from other secondary education. Between these two kinds of training, vocational school students spend their scholar experience. This experience is a set of different factors: social background, grade level, group of classmates, school specialty, etc.The present work focuses on exploring the student scholar experience. It is conducted on students of the third grade, in three schools which are different by specialty. In order to get a better understanding of this experience, we study three points: The characteristics of students attending vocational schools, the orientation towards vocational school, and the choice of a job-specific training and how students explain their choice. The third point is specifically completed by the reports of students themselves. These three points were studied on a sample composed of students and teachers of three vocational schools located in the Alpes Maritimes region. Information was gathered through a questionnaire distributed to students, and interviews with teachers

Vaccination is one of the most successful public health achievements in disease prevention. However, since their introduction, vaccines have been relatively contentious. Health controversies have contributed to erode the population’s confidence in vaccination and health authorities. A transparent communication based on a robust demonstration of the benefit-risk assessment (BRA) of vaccines could be therefore necessary to inform decision-makers and restore the public’s confidence.Quantitative benefit-risk models (qBRm) applied on vaccines is an important, and increasingly used, tool to support the BRA from decision-makers. These models provide a structure for incorporating evidence from multiple sources to quantify and put into perspective the benefits and risks of an intervention. However, health authorities and pharmaceutical companies are concerned about the lack of an explicit and systematic framework. While some initiatives that aims at optimising the BRA of health products are emerging, few of them are specific to vaccines. In this context, our research aimed to propose and test new tools to structure qBRm applied on vaccines in order to optimise them use in the decision-making process from different stakeholders. The first part of this work aimed at identifying publications reporting on qBRm for vaccines through a systematic literature review and describing their study characteristics according to specific classification criteria. The analyses confirmed that the number of qBRm of vaccines publications has been increasing since 2000. One-third of the qBRm publications were related to rotavirus vaccination. However, none of these studies on rotavirus vaccination had been performed to specifically address the French context. The analysis of the selected studies revealed divergences in terms of the methodological approaches used and gaps in the granularity of information reported, making complex the interpretation and comparison of the models. In the second part of this research, we therefore endeavoured to propose areas for improvement. To start with, we designed an operational checklist to improve the reporting of qBRm applied on vaccines. Indeed, an adequate reporting is key to ensure a transparent disclosure of the analysis and its reproducibility, thereby facilitating study result interpretation and comparability. Then, to palliate for the absence of qBRm applied on rotavirus vaccination and given the historical context in France, we developed our own qBRm. Finally, we tested a new alternative for designing and structuring qBRm applied on vaccines: the Discretely Integrated Condition Event (DICE) simulation. DICE is a standardised tool that could be used by every stakeholder. The systematic use of such common interface to qBRm could facilitate their design, analysis and comparison. Nevertheless, these areas for improvement are only a starting point, further initiatives are essential to continue the uptake of qBRm applied on vaccines, while making them more efficient, with robust and transparent results. These steps, although not exclusive, seem necessary to enhance public confidence in vaccination and improve vaccine coverage, ensuring as a result an optimal protection of population against infectious diseases

This research aims to show the importance of considering the working activity for the prevention of professional road accidents. By using the activity's theoretical framework, we can see driving as a work activity, it arises from the compromises made by the subject confronted with the determinants of his working situation. To act on the risk inherent to this activity, it is thus necessary to exceed the simple behavioural approach and to understand how driving integrates itself into the working activity. It leads us more particularly to consider the car as an instrument, a resource and a constraint of the subject's actions and mobility as a finalized action which is also a resource and constraint for the subject. Studied in the context of road construction and maintenance, with the population of the contract managers whose main task is not to drive, the theme of professional road risks us to question work organization and think collectively about all the resources which the subject has in order to reach his or her professional objectives

Exchange rate forecasts are at best approximate owing to the unstable and dynamic nature of its determining factors- real and monetary. This imprecision is a major source of exchange rate risks against which investors hedge their portfolios. Speculators, however, expert some risk premium in return for providing insurance for these risks. Using the capital asset pring model, this work seeks to deter- mine whether risk premia exist or not in an efficient currency futures market. In addition, it seeks to establish whether and to what extent speculators can obtain some returns by forecasting foreign exchange 'basis'

This thesis aims to report the origins and existence of several legal theories of risk in labor law. From the quest for its origins, the logic underlying each theory of risk in labor law is revealed, from the theory of exploitation risks to the theory of occupational risk and the theory of risk and business risks. From this quest it emerges that risk gives rise to theorization only in that it relates to a specific object; the risk can not be theorized - it can give rise to the intellectual representation of a system of law - only from the moment when it relates to an object. There is no neutral theory of risk - otherwise one actor could be accountable for everything that can happen. From the object put at risk, the underlying logic depends on it. The body of the person at work as a risk can not be anchored in a patrimonial logic; the severance of the employment relationship as a risk can not lead to collectivisation of employment. Each theory of risk is thus born of the impossibility of its object to merge with the logic of the previous theory. However, although each theory claims its own generalization , no theory of risk in labor law has taken precedence over another. They are maintained simultaneously. Contemporary labor law testifies to their full mobilization, and to a certain extent, their disguise. However, new challenges also testifies to the impossibility for these theories of the risk of seizing new risks, new objects, i.e. the major risks. May be, within the labor law, a new theory of the risk is raising now - whose object would relate to the major risks?

The students preparing for " Brevet de Technicien Superieur agricole " (a higher national diploma in agriculture) have to write down a report on the vocational training and work experience. They have to go through within the framework of their studies. The report is assessed and does account for an important test with a view to graduation. Writing a report may remain a modest exercise for many a student, but for some of them, hardly prone to indulge in written expression, such an exercise proves to be difficult, time –and energy- consuming task which require many different skills from them. Our reasoning aims at laying stress on the threefold change that these technicians –to-be undergo through the writing of so long a report on how they feel about such a piece of work which encompasses both the writing of the report and the work experience. They go through beforehand : - a change as to how they feel about writing - a change as to how they feel about the real working world - a change as to how they feel about their self-image. We decided to work with three groups of students peparing for BTSA in Food Processing Technologies and Industries as latter are very much representative of the tensions and difficulties cropping up when passing from school life to working life. Indeed, not only are the students involved hardly familiar with and aware of the business world but so them going through a work experience and writing a long report are two new activities. Our research has clearly highlighted that even through writing has not became the student's ideal mode of expression, wording the account of their vocational training has enabled them to realise that it is means to buid up knowledge and a tool to analyse and think things over. The general background to their training as well as to their fosters the emergence of a new approach to the working world and entrances the students' skills. A student's training report can be regarded as an initiation rite, as the rite of passage from astudent's status to worker's just like a professional report
