Abstract:

Abstract:
The Eating Disorders in Youth-Questionnaire (EDY-Q) is a 14-item instrument for assessing early-onset restrictive eating disturbances in 8-13 year old children via self-report. The items are based on: the criteria for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM-5; American Psychiatric Association APA, 2013); the Great Ormond Street criteria (Bryant-Waugh & Lask, 1995); and literature on early-onset restrictive eating disturbances. The EDY-Q consists of fourteen items, twelve of which cover ARFID symptomatology, including its three proposed variants (Bryant-Waugh, Markham, Kreipe & Walsh, 2010), food avoidance emotional disorder (FAED), selective eating (SE), and functional dysphagia (FD). Two additional items briefly address Pica and Rumination Disorder, two other early-onset feeding or eating disorders described in the DSM-5 (APA, 2013). The English version of the EDY-Q was translated from the German version (van Dyck & Hilbert, 2016) by AH. This translation was controlled by a retranslation procedure through a licensed translator.

Full text
Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of the studies presented was to develop and examine the psychometric properties of the Eating Habits Questionnaire (EHQ). The author designed the 21-item self-report inventory to assess cognitions, behaviors, and feelings related to an extreme focus on healthy eating as a preliminary step in researching an alleged syndrome that has been labeled "orthorexia nervosa", defined as a pathological fixation on healthy eating. Study 1 examined the factor structure of the EHQ and refined the instrument with exploratory factor analysis. A 3-factor solution was preferred, with subscales labeled: knowledge of healthy eating, problems associated with healthy eating, and feeling positively about healthy eating. In the Study 1 sample (n = 174) the subscales displayed good internal consistency (.87 to .91) and test-retest reliability (.74 to .87). Study 2 examined the fit of the 3-factor model in a new sample (n = 213) with confirmatory factor analysis. Poor initial fit became adequate after eliminating poorly fitting items. Internal consistency (.82 to .90) and test-retest reliability (.72 to .81) of the subscales remained good in the Study 2 sample. Examination of correlations between the EHQ subscales and a variety of other measures provided preliminary evidence for both convergent and discriminant validity in the Study 2 sample. As expected, the EHQ subscales correlated more highly with measures of eating related pathology than with measures of general pathology, personality characteristics, or social desirability.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Objective: The aim of this study was to develop, evaluate, and standardize a short form of the well-established Eating Disorder Examination-Questionnaire (EDE-Q). The newly developed EDE-Q8 was required to reflect the originally postulated structure of the EDE-Q. Method: Data were drawn from two nationwide representative population surveys in Germany: a survey conducted to develop the EDE-Q8 in 2009 (N = 2520); and a survey conducted in 2013 (N = 2508) for the evaluation and calculation of EDE-Q8 percentiles. Results: The EDE-Q8 had excellent item characteristics, very good reliability and a very good model fit for the postulated second-order factorial structure. Furthermore, a strong correlation between the EDE-Q8 and a 13 item short form of the Eating Attitudes Test was observed. Discussion: The EDE-Q8 appears to be particularly suitable in epidemiological research, when an economical assessment of global eating disorder psychopathology is required.

Abstract:
A Thesis submitted to The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Medicine.
Informant‐based assessments of cognition and function are commonly used to differentiate individuals with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) from those who are cognitively normal (CN). However, determining the extent to which informant‐based measures correlate to objective neuropsychological tests is important given the widespread use of neuropsychological tests in making clinical diagnoses of aMCI and AD. The aim of the current study is to determine how well the Alzheimer’s Questionnaire (AQ) correlates with objective neuropsychological tests. Results showed that the AQ correlated strongly with the Mini Mental State Exam (r = ‐0.71) and the Mattis Dementia Rating Scale‐2 (r = ‐0.72), and moderate correlations were noted for the AQ with memory function (Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test Delayed Recall, r = ‐0.61) and executive function (Trails B, r = 0.53). The AQ also correlated moderately with language function (Boston Naming Test 30‐Item, r = ‐0.44), but showed a weak correlation with visuospatial function (Judgment of Line Orientation, r = ‐0.28). The AQ also correlates particularly well with cognitive screens, showing the strongest correlations with the MMSE (r = ‐0.71) and the DRS‐2 (r = ‐0.72). The findings of this study suggest that the AQ correlates well with several neuropsychological tests, particularly those that assess the domains memory and executive function. These results lend further support to the validity of the AQ as a screening instrument for cognitive impairment as it correlates well with neuropsychological measures used to make clinical diagnoses of aMCI and AD.e sites become involved, thus providing significant feedback for possible course revision.

Abstract:
The demand to implement routine outcome assessment in mental health care services calls for measures with clinical utility, i. e, feasible to therapists, acceptable to clients and generalizable to settings. This research aims to explore the clinical utility of a patient-generated measure, the Personal Questionnaire (PQ). An on-line survey was designed (study I) and administered to an international sample of 25 therapists with experience using the PQ (study II). Results suggest that the PQ is perceived as a clinically significant and fairly practical measure, useful not only in assessing outcome but also in various clinical tasks. Furthermore, it is relatively well accepted by clients and it is extremely generalizable to different clients, clinical approaches and settings. Specific suggestions to increase the PQ’s clinical utility are provided.

Abstract:
Informations measurement as defined by information theory (particularly entropy, equivocation, ambiguity, capacity, redundancy and transmitted information) proposes a new series of tools for the evaluation of survey questionnaires. These tools make it possible to measure the amount of information one can get from each surveyed person, and established general questionnaire design rules that lead to the optimization of this amount of information

Abstract:

The web-based Questionnaire of Ethical Skills (QES) is a technology tool thatmeasures ethical competence in business as a psychological problem-solving and decision-making skill. Autonomous reasoning is measured by this questionnaire, what is in psychological terms known as ethical competence. Information and communication technology tools – as the one that is presented here - should be used to do special training and facilitate the achievement of ethical competence. With this questionnaire we want to assess the way the participants solve ethical problems and make decisions. We go further compared to Kavathatzopoulos & Rigas’ paper questionnaire (2006) that has certain limitations regarding the four alternatives per dilemma. We are more flexible by using this technology in testing different combinations of alternatives.

Abstract:
This report describes a methodological study in which an interviewer-administered questionnaire was developed for use among incarcerated injection drug users (IDU) and assessed for reliability. A conceptual framework postulating psychosocio-behavioural determinants of condom use intention based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour (Ajzen, 1985) and the AIDS Risk Reduction Model (Catania et al., 1990) is presented first. This framework is specifically designed to include elements deemed relevant for the planning of HIV/AIDS preventive interventions targeted at incarcerated IDU. Questionnaire elaboration then involved a qualitative elicitation study, content validation, pilot testing, assessment of the internal consistency of eighteen additive scales defined a priori, and test-retest analyses. Results indicate that it is possible to obtain reliable data from incarcerated IDU. This sets the stage for eventual assessment of construct validity to assist in the choice of relevant measures and findings for consideration in the design of HIV/AIDS preventive public health interventions.

Abstract:

The predictive validity of the Displaced Aggression Questionnaire (DAQ) was studied by allowing participants to engage in both displaced and direct aggression. Participants were given the DAQ and the Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire (AQ), assessments of trait displaced and direct aggression, respectively. Participants were then provoked and given the opportunity to engage in both direct and displaced aggression. Results indicated that both the DAQ and the AQ were positively correlated with both displaced and direct aggression. Furthermore, the type of aggression dependent measure (viz., physical versus verbal) did not moderate these effects. Finally, there was a significant negative correlation between the DAQ and the Differentiation of Self Questionnaire, which measures the process of separating from ones multigenerational family, indicating that higher levels of trait displaced aggression are associated with negative differentiation from one's family of origin. Implications for both predicting and reducing aggressive behavior are discussed.

Abstract:
The psychometric properties of the Parenting Beliefs Questionnaire (PBQ) were further explored. College students (176 males and 342 females) who were not parents completed the measure. Results of a series of principle components factor analyses with varimax rotation suggested retaining a two-factor solution accounting for 35.5% of the variance. Factor I measured the Promotion of Interpersonal Behaviors in children (alpha = .87), while Factor 2 assessed the Promotion of Autonomy in children (alpha = .73). A one-way MANOVA was employed to examine potential gender differences in participants' responses to the PBQ factors. A main effect was discovered whereby females rated both factors higher than males. Limitations of this study and the PBQ were discussed as were recommendations for future research and counseling.

Abstract:
This series of studies was carried in order to develop and validate the Alzheimer’s Questionnaire (AQ). The underlying rationale for the creation of the AQ was to provide clinicians with a brief and easy-to-use informant-based assessment of symptoms associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Initial studies of the AQ found that it has both high sensitivity and high specificity for differentiating individuals with AD and its prodrome, amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The AQ’s accuracy in identifying MCI was explored further in an additional study which sought to determine which items on the AQ were best predicted the presence of MCI. Four items were strongly associated with MCI which were: repetition of statements and/or questions [OR = 13.20 (3.02, 57.66)]; trouble knowing the day, date, month, year, and time [OR = 17.97 (2.63, 122.77)]; difficulty managing finances [OR = 11.60 (2.10, 63.99)]; and decreased sense of direction [OR = 5.84(1.09, 31.30)]. Concurrent validity was established through another study which found that the AQ correlated moderately with the MMSE (r = -0.56) and MoCA (r = -0.46) while a strong correlation (r = 0.79) was found with the Clinical Dementia Rating Sum of Boxes (CDR-SOB). Additional work found that the AQ correlated well with formal neuropsychological measures of episodic memory and executive function. Longitudinal analyses found that was AQ was a significant predictor of clinically meaningful decline as measured by the changes in CDR Global Score (OR = 1.20, 95% CI: 1.09, 1.32; p < 0.001). In addition, AQ identified clinically meaningful change among MCI cases at a greater rate(24%) than the MMSE (17%). This series of studies demonstrates that the AQ is an accurate instrument that correlates well with known measures of MCI and AD.

Abstract:

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The ability of organisations to be successful in the current global business environment will ultimately be dependent on their ability to be innovative. However, creativity and innovation will not take place spontaneously in any team setting and will be the result of meticulous planning and implementation efforts on the part of the team’s members. The current global business environment is characterised by constant change and this makes leadership more important than ever before as leaders are considered the drivers of change and ultimately responsible for organisational success. Leaders within organisational team settings have an essential role to fulfil in stimulating and facilitating innovative behaviour in their subordinates. The fact that some leaders manage to successfully stimulate and facilitate innovative behaviour in their subordinates, while others fail to do so, might well be contributed by some to a number of simplistic variables– but this is not the case. The fact that some leaders manage to successfully stimulate and facilitate innovative behaviour in their subordinates can be attributed to the fact that these leaders possess specific competencies based on different sets of knowledge, skills and attitudes. The innovation process consists of four distinct phases (idea generation, idea screening, feasibility and commercialisation) and innovative outcomes for a team will only result if team members successfully progress through each of these four phases. The reality, however, is that the innovation process itself is filled with challenges that will need to be overcome by team members if innovation is to flourish. Accordingly leaders should apply specific sets of knowledge, skills and attitudes during each of the phases in the innovation process to help guide subordinates successfully through the innovation process. It should hence be clear that being aware of the specific leadership competencies that will stimulate and facilitate innovative behaviour in subordinates will be of immense value to any organisation who wishes to act more innovatively. The primary purpose of this study was consequently to design a psychological measurement instrument that would provide a measure of the specific competencies leaders should possess to stimulate and facilitate innovative behaviour in subordinates. This instrument would enable management to customise training and development programmes to meet the specific needs of leaders and hence develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes on their part. A pilot study was conducted with the experimental version of the ILQ to obtain information regarding the psychometric properties of the instrument. Results obtained from the pilot study provided evidence that the ILQ instrument possesses high levels of internal reliability and satisfactory levels of concurrent validity. It can therefore be claimed that the ILQ instrument would serve as a valuable diagnostic tool for organisations who wish to improve their innovative capabilities.

Abstract:
The present thesis concerns the modification of the Offer Self-Image Questionnaire for Adolescents (OSIQ) and its adaptation to a Greek sample. Three studies are presented which involve the course of development of the modified questionnaire namely the Self-Image Questionnaire for Adolescents (SIQA) and the psychometric properties of its scales. Study I presents a series of exploratory Factor Analyses of the OSIQ, based on the data from 1,314 Greek adolescents aged 13-17 years, which led to a modified version with 89 items and 7 scales. The psychometric properties of the scales are presented. Study II is based on data collected from 423 Greek adolescents aged 13 to 17 years and refers to the description of the 7 scales of the modified questionnaire, the creation of its short version, the internal consistency of the scales of both versions and an ANOVA comparing the parameters of sex, age and socioeconomic status of the subjects with their performance on the scales of both SIQA versions. Study III examines the reliability and validity of both SIQA versions based on the data from a group of 305 normal Greek adolescents and 95 deaf Greek adolescents all aged 13-17 years. Two types of reliability are employed; (a) internal consistency and (b) test-retest. Two methods of validity are also employed; (a) construct validity comparing the SIQA scales with the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (SEI) scales and (b) discriminant validity comparing normal with deaf adolescents.

Keeping, Barbara. "Validation of the Spanish Dallas Pain Questionnaire." Thesis, University of North Texas, 1989. https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc330691/.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to validate the Spanish version of the Dallas Pain Questionnaire (DPQ). Not only does the DPQ offer the potential of statistical and clinical diagnostic value but also is easily interpretable across cultural lines. No such instrument has presently been validated for the Mexican-American population. A total of 81 Spanish speaking subjects participated in this study. Of these subjects, 56 were classified as chronic pain patients by nature of their medical diagnosis and duration of pain. The 25 normal subjects were family members of the chronic pain patients and members of the Northern New Mexico Hispanic community chosen at random. Hypothesis one predicted that reliability would be obtained on Spanish speaking populations based on test-retest with correlation coefficients of the items. The second hypothesis predicted that the Spanish DPQ would have content validity or consistent internal structure on those items that measure the trait or behavior of interest based upon factor analysis approaches and internal consistency measures. Hypothesis three predicted that the Spanish version of the DPQ would significantly correlate with the English version of the DPQ on all four factors. All four hypotheses were supported. The Spanish DPQ showed reliability over time based on test-retest. The statistics revealed an internally reliable test, alpha coefficient analysis and factor analysis. The validity was supported by significant correlations with the English DPQ and discrimination between chronic and nonchronic pain patients. While all four hypotheses were upheld, interpretation of the present findings should be moderated by recognition of the limitations of the studies. Future studies should test larger samples to improve confidence in the psychometric properties of the instrument. Still notable limitations of the questionnaire are that the Spanish DPQ is a form that is more accurately viewed as a global measure.

Abstract:
The purpose of this exploratory study was to develop, test, and apply a questionnaire which would be used to determine the possibility of PMS in women being admitted to psychiatric facilities. Although a review of the literature supported the assumption that PMS symptoms and symptoms of psychiatric illness share overlapping features, the evaluation process currently implemented in psychiatric facilities does not allow for the possibility of a diagnosis of PMS. The questionnaire, created to detect PMS symptom changes in intensity and timing, was administered to women newly admitted to psychiatric facilities. Thirty-two percent of the group demonstrated the possibility of having PMS. The results of this study would suggest that women of child-bearing potential, admitted to a psychiatric facility, might be evaluated for the possibility of PMS.

Abstract:
2013/2014
Public Service Motivation (PSM) is a theorized attribute of public employees that provides them with the desire to serve the public interest. Although PSM definition varies among studies, its fundamental principle is that individuals are oriented to act in the public sector for the purpose of doing good for others and society. The PSM theory, thus, provides a useful basis for understanding the public employees motivation. However, the various studies have not always used the same PSM measurement instrument due to the construct complexity and differences among cultures. The purpose of the present study was to arrange a PSM questionnaire for the Italian public context. Eighty-one PSM items were collected from various questionnaire appeared in literature and submitted to a translation-back translation procedure. A pilot study grounded in a sample composed by 216 public employees verified the discriminating power of items and assessed their understandability. As a consequence, the number of items was reduced to 62. After randomization, the items were administered to a sample of 780 public employees and, through a series of factor analyses, a four-dimensions PSM model was obtained. The final outcome of this study is the Italian PSM Questionnaire, which is the first PSM questionnaire based on an Italian normative sample. The questionnaire includes a method to check the reliability of the answers of respondents as well. Factor score analyses of normative sample are illustrated. The questionnaire can be used for open recruitment procedures, as well as management, and development of public employees.

Abstract:
There is currently no standard method to measure the incidence and prevalence of musculoskeletal injury among musicians. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability for the Musculoskeletal Pain Questionnaire for Musicians (MPQM) and the Musculoskeletal Pain Intensity and Interference Questionnaire for Musicians (MPIIQM) in collegiate musicians. Participants completed a packet containing the MPQM and MPIIQM, with two baseline instruments (SF-36 and QuickDASH). Convergent validity was evaluated using a correlation between the scores of the baseline instruments and the MPQM and MPIIQM. Reliability was evaluated using the split-half method and Cronbach?s alpha. The readability was evaluated with the Flesch-Kincaid score. The MPQM and MPIIQM showed weak correlations to the SF-36 and moderate correlations to the QuickDASH and the sports/performing arts optional module. Both showed strong reliability and good readability. Both should be used with caution in future research.

Abstract:
Participaram do estudo 240 pacientes queimados.
This methodological study had the following objectives: to adapt the Perceived Stigmatization Questionnaire (PSQ) and the Social Comfort Questionnaire (SCQ); and to assess the validity and reliability in a sample of Brazilians who suffered burns. The PSQ and the SCQ assesses respectively, the perception of stigmatization and the social comfort among burn victims. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committees of the institutions studied. We included patients over 18 years old undergoing rehabilitation process of burn, with or without hospitalization in two Burn Units in Brazil. The cross-cultural adaptation process of the instruments was performed according to international guidelines. The construct validity related to the dimensionality of the instruments was evaluated by the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The reliability analysis was performed using the Cronbach\'s alpha. The reproducibility of the instruments was assessed by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). The construct validity was assessed by the multitrait-multimethod matrix (MTMM) through the constructs: self-esteem (Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale), depression (Beck Depression Inventory) and affection/body image and interpersonal relationships (Burn Specific Health Scale-Revised). The analysis of known-groups was tested by comparing the scores of the instruments according to the burn visibility, body surface in the area burned and gender. The significance level was 0.05. A total of 240 burn patients participated in the study. The goodness-of-fit indices were satisfactory for the total score of the PSQ, however, not for the subscale hostile behavior. This subscale was modified by removing 3 items to obtain a better adjust: the PSQ refined version (BR-PSQ-R) (?2=229.53; d.f.=132; p<0.001; RMSEA=0.06; CFI=0.94; TLI=0.94). Cronbach\'s alpha ranged from 0.65 to 0.88. The ICC value was 0.87 for the total score. The BR-PSQ-R showed strong and positive correlation with depression (0.63; p < 0.001), and strong and negative correlation with self-esteem (-0.57; p<0.001), and affection/body image (-0.63; p<0.001), and interpersonal relationships (-0.55; p<0.001). The total score of the BR-PSQ-R was significant and higher for patients with visible scars (effect size=0.51; p=0.029). In the CFA of the SCQ was identified unsatisfactory goodness-of-fit for the original model with one-factor structure with 8 items, thus, the model was reduced to 6 items (BR-SCQ-R) and better goodness-of-fit indices were identified (?2=458.7; d.f.=7; p<0.001; RMSEA=0.05; CFI=0.99; TLI=0.99). Cronbach\'s alpha was 0.80 and the ICC value in the test-retest was 0.86 for the BR-PSQ-R. The final version showed strong and negative correlation with depression (-0.56; p<0.001); and strong and positive correlations with affection/body image (0.60; p<0.001), interpersonal relationships (0.57; p<0.001) and self-esteem (0.52; p<0.001). In the analysis of known- groups we identified statistically significant difference between patients who considered their scars visible (effect size=-0.49; p=0.012). The results showed that the refined versions of the PSQ and SCQ showed reliability and validity comparable to the original versions. On the other hand, the structure related to the hostile behavior subscale of the BR-PSQ-R and the sensitivity of both instruments must be evaluated in future studies.

Abstract:
Yachting known as a relatively old and an expensive leisure activity, due to recent developments of technology and construction techniques has become accessible to a wider range of people. Mediterranean coasts have a great importance among the world yachters. There is a congestion of yacht traffic in the western and middle Mediterranean marinas, so the yachters tend to go to the Eastern Mediterranean including the Turkish coasts. Gö
cek is the most popular yachting region in Turkey with its sheltered bays, natural beauties and archeological heritage. Gö
cek Bays are among the first group of Specially Protected Areas declared in Turkey. Yachting activity in summer months has been an ever-increasing use. At present, there exists a very low level of managerial effort for limiting the environmental impacts of boating activities in Gö
cek Bays. The uncontrolled yachting in Gö
cek Bays presents a growing pressure on the environment, and the coastal and marine ecosystem. On the other hand, it contributes to decreasing the quality of holidays due to congestion, noise and water pollution. The aim of this thesis is to produce information that would contribute to a future regional yacht tourism management plan for Gö
cek Bays. To determine the preferences and evaluations of the yachters about this region two surveys have been carried out during the summers of 2000 and 2001. During these surveys questionnaires were distributed to the users and their priorities of several items were asked. Besides some demographic information about the user was obtained.

Rutledge, Kate Laura. "A Music Listening Questionnaire for Hearing Aid Users." Thesis, University of Canterbury. Communication Disorders, 2009. http://hdl.handle.net/10092/3194.

Full text
Abstract:
To date, very few studies have been conducted focusing on ratings of music and music listening experience of hearing aid (HA) users. This study aimed to collect more detailed and descriptive information via a questionnaire, on the music listening experience and ratings of musical sounds from postlingually deafened adults. The following hypotheses were posed: (i) ratings for music from HA users who have been assessed for a cochlear implant (HA-CI group) will be worse than those who have not been assessed for a CI (HA-NCI group); and (ii) HA users with a moderate or worse hearing loss (Moderate+ subgroup) will provide lower ratings for music than those with a mild hearing loss (Mild subgroup). A questionnaire by She (2008), was modified for this study, and subsequently called the University of Canterbury Music Listening Questionnaire – HA version (UCMLQ_HA). The questionnaire was divided into the following seven sections: music listening and music background, sound quality ratings, music styles, music preferences, music recognition, factors affecting music listening enjoyment, and a music training programme. Thirteen HA-CI recipients and 98 HA-NCI recipients returned the questionnaire. The HA-NCI group was divided into two subgroups: mild hearing loss (n = 51), and moderate or worse hearing loss (Moderate+; n = 47). Essentially findings were consistent with hypothesis one, but only partially consistent with hypothesis two. The HA-CI group provided lower ratings for ‘pleasantness’ and ‘naturalness’ of instruments (p = 0.007), and found music styles to be less ‘pleasant’ (p < 0.001) than the HA-NCI group. For musical styles, the HA-CI group preferred solo performers whereas the HA-NCI group preferred groups of performers. In addition to ratings of music, the HA-CI group provided significantly lower ratings for music listening (p = 0.001), and overall music enjoyment (p = 0.021) than the HA-NCI group. For the comparisons between the Mild and Moderate+ subgroups, the Mild subgroup found Instruments to sound significantly ‘less noisy’ (p < 0.001) and ‘less sharp’ (p < 0.001) than the Moderate+ subgroup. The Moderate+ subgroup provided higher ratings for overall enjoyment of listening to music with HAs than the Mild subgroup (p = 0.044). Both subgroups rated the drum kit (the lowest rated Instrument) to be significantly less pleasant and less natural than all other Instruments. It was also found that all musical styles were significantly more pleasant than Pop/Rock. There were similarities between the groups for music preferences; the male singer was significantly preferred over female singers (p = 0.021), and low-pitched instruments were significantly preferred over high-pitched instruments (p = 0.04). Classical music was also selected as the style that sounded the best with their HAs and listened to the most often. Almost all of the respondents indicated that they would like music in general to sound it would to those with normal hearing (97.1%). Close to 30% indicated that they would be interested in an MTP and would like it to focus on a wide range of music and feature commonly known tunes. In addition, training sessions should consist of two 30 minute sessions per week. Overall this study indicates that ratings of music differ with level of hearing loss to some degree. The general consensus was that music did not sound as they would expect it to sound to a person with normal hearing, and that respondents would like to enjoy listening to music more.
