Abstract:
Farm tourism shows a structure different from agriculture, forestry, and fishery; farm tourism is expanding, labour intensive, generates an influx of money, and maintains the service base in the region. Farm tourism is one of the most important supplementary activities and generates considerable secondary income. This paper presents the developed methodology that will enable the ranking of tourist farms based on their service quality. This is accomplished through the use of the expert system based on the DEXi decision-making method. Using DEXi, the multi-criteria decision model for the assessment of farm tourism's service quality was developed. The model was applied in practice on 7 vacation farms. The data from the questionnaires completed by farm guests and hosts was used as input data in the multi-attribute model and as an arbitrary estimation for the farm. The results of the model are shown as the assessments for individual farms. Out of seven chosen farms, four achieved the best possible estimation. Two of them achieved middle estimation. For the last tourist farm, where a data deficit was present, the model showed two final possible estimations (very good or good and bad - depends on value of missing attributes).

Abstract:
Domestic tourism is being the main focus of the government strategy to revitalize the tourism sector. It is then crucial to consider elements that can raise the quality of tourism, in terms of domestic tourists and increase the added value rather than merely number of trips. The analysis of quality is important in tourism to support the idea of sustainable tourism, which is promoted in the 8th agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Quality analysis must be done in micro modelling that takes into account tourist characteristics and particular travel-related features because this sector depends on tourism demand and tourist expenditure in tourist locations. Thus, the goal of this study is to give a general overview of the qualities and characteristics of domestic tourists and to examine how these attributes affect their quality. The results of descriptive analysis method indicate that Indonesian domestic visitors’ quality remains poor. Age, genders, education level, employment status, transportation mode, accommodation type and travel companion affect the quality of domestic tourists.

Heritage tourism is a journey where the purpose of the trip is to see or witness heritage ceremonies and enriches, strengthen faith. The research result on the effect of Tourist’s motivation on tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi, it was discovered that there is an increase in the effect of tourist's motivation on tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi. Based on this research regarding the effect of service quality on tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi, it was discovered that there is an effect of service quality on tourist decision on heritage tourism in Dairi. With the improvement of Service Quality, tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi can be increased. Based on the findings of this research, it was discovered that tourist satisfaction has no effect on tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi. The decreased Tourist Satisfaction leads to a decline in tourist’s decision. With regard to the effect of the tourist’s motivation, service quality, and Tourist satisfaction on tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi, it was revealed that these three variables (Tourist’s Motivation, Service Quality, and Tourist Satisfaction) have simultaneous effects on tourist decision to heritage tourism in Dairi.

Abstract:
This article aims to analyze and identify the quality of tourist attraction of Alamendah village and its application to the management of tourist attraction in Alamendah village, Rancabali District, Bandung Regency. The theory used in this study is the theory of tourism. Tourism is a trip made by a person or group from one place to another, temporary, this tourism aims as recreation, pleasure in seeking environmental balance in social, cultural, natural and scientific dimensions. Through survey and observation methods analyzing Alamendah tourism, this study collects data on tourists' perceptions of the tourist experience, quality of service, quality of physical tourism products, and sustainability of the attraction. Research findings show that a satisfactory travel experience is a key factor in determining the quality of Alamendah's tourist attraction. The results showed that the potential strategy of tourism villages that become tourist attractions, the types of tourism in Alamendah Village, factors that influence the increase in tourist visits to Alamendah Tourism Village such as glamping activity tour packages, tours and sports tourism as well as plantation tourism and digital tourism development strategies can increase tourist visits to Alamendah Tourism Village, The role of tourists in the development of Alamendah Village

Abstract:
Tourism activities are a combination of tourism products and services that provide a tourist experience. In tourism, transportation is essential because it is one aspect that determines interest in tourism. Exciting traveling experience will give satisfaction to tourism. Work culture and service quality are also determinants of tourist satisfaction. This study aims to indicate the influence of work culture and service quality in providing tourism satisfaction. Its influence is seen partially and simultaneously. Locus of this research at public transportation in the tourism area of Bukittingi. This research uses a quantitative approach. Data were taken from 300 respondents who have been selected using Slovin Formula. Data already obtained with a questionnaire that is valid and reliable. The result of the research showed that work culture and service quality partially and simultaneously influenced customer satisfaction.

Abstract:
Although high-quality tourism destinations directly determine the tourism experiences of tourists and the management focuses of tourism management departments, existing studies have paid little attention to the relationship between tourism destinations of differing quality and tourist experiences. This study analyzed the spatiotemporal distribution of tourists and the quality of tourism destinations in Urumqi based on Tencent migration big data and Weibo sign-in big data and ultimately determined whether there are spatial correlations between the two. The results show that there are large differences in quality between different tourist destinations, and although the spatial and temporal distribution of tourists is not strongly correlated with the quality of tourist destinations, we can divide tourist destinations into four categories based on the correlations between the two (e.g., high-quality tourist destinations with a low number of tourists). The results of this study provide tourists with examples of high-quality tourist destinations, thus improving their holiday experiences, and they also provide a basis by which tourism management departments can manage and develop tourist destinations. The results of this study can also be extended to other regions and play a positive role in promoting the development of the tourism industry.

Abstract:
Tourism destinations need to continuously improve in quality to succeed, if not to survive. To improve quality, current levels need to be measured to identify areas requiring improvement. However, no adequate technique for measuring the quality of a tourism destination has yet been developed. More importantly, tourists' understanding of the meaning of the term 'quality of a tourism destination' has not been investigated; a pre-requisite step for developing a technique for measuring the quality of a tourism destination. This thesis aims to ascertain the attributes and dimensions of quality of a tourism destination and to specify implications for the development of a technique for measuring its quality. To achieve this aim, a qualitative research approach is employed in the first stage of the thesis. The findings from this stage are used to inform the ensuing, mainly quantitative phase. The main results are summarised here. Firstly, seventy-five attributes and twelve dimensions of quality of a tourism destination were revealed in the qualitative phase of the study. Secondly, in the quantitative stage, an analysis of mean score values revealed that tourists strongly associated all seventy-five attributes and twelve dimensions with the quality of a tourism destination. Thirdly, it was established that the twelve dimensions of quality of a tourism destination differ in either breadth or scope from both service quality dimensions widely used in tourism and product quality dimensions from the quality management field. This thesis suggests that the quality of a tourism destination can best be defined as 'conformance to tourist requirements'. The main hypothesis; that there are significant differences in interpretations of the meaning of 'quality of a tourism destination' within groups oftourists, is rejected. Finally, the thesis ascertains that a tool for measuring the quality of a tourism destination can be developed based on the findings of the thesis. Such a tool, though predominantly quantitative, should include open-ended questions. This would allow changing tourist needs to be captured periodically and the results used to update the tool for measuring the quality of a tourism destination.

Abstract:
This study assesses tourism policy and service quality management in business and conference tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), examining the capacity of KSA to become an international business conference tourism destination. It considers the factors that could favour or hinder the expansion of the conference industry in (KSA), Research was conducted through mixed methods, the fact that qualitative and quantitative designs complement each other - each covering for the weakness of the other including original data drawn from interviews and questionnaires. The target respondents are officials from the Saudi Exhibition and Convention Bureau, which is the government organisation responsible for conferences, drawn from the public sector, and staff and managers of tourism companies drawn from the private sector. Understanding these factors is vital to enable stakeholders to address the opportunities and challenges that may emerge. Substantial analysis of the interviews and questionnaires brings out both important recurring themes and specific detail. The personal views of the participants reflect optimism for the sector's current performance and its prospects in the future. The participants also noted that the continuous increase of the sector's performance in KSA has been secured mostly due to the government's support. It demonstrated that there are several positive factors about KSA that may promote a thriving conference tourism sector. This is contrary to the expectations that global issues such as terrorism, and the negative images they have painted of the Arab world from the Western perspective, which have increased safety concerns for delegates visiting KSA. A further objective was to analyse the quality of service and its effects on business conference tourism in (KSA). This facilitates the rating of the current condition of facilities used in conference tourism, as well as the status of supporting industries such as hospitality. Respondents in this context include external delegates who use these services and can give a first-hand account of their experiences. From these responses, it was established that that a large percentage of external delegates preferred staying in 4- and 5-star hotels. The fact that these hotels were available for these delegates meant that the hospitality industry in KSA is large enough to accommodate conferences and also that the level of customer satisfaction that they offer is relatively high. A further objective was to explore the social and political feasibility of KSA developing as a business conference tourism destination. This objective was addressed using the responses of internal conference delegates to evaluate how the social and political characteristics and perceptions of KSA may influence the future conditions of conference tourism in the country. The data gathered shows that there is a close relationship between social and political factors, and the performance of business and conference tourism in KSA. Several elements of the social and political environment have a bearing, not only tourism but also on other sectors in the country One of these is infrastructure; with appropriate infrastructure, which can only be attained with responsible political planning, the running of many industries will be smooth. This study has established that KSA has the infrastructural capability for hosting international conferences, and its organizational capabilities are good. The themes uncovered have pointed out that the Saudi tradition is significant in the development of Saudi Arabia as a business and conference tourism destination. Culture has been shown to be significant determinant of the sector. It is thus important to consider the cultural attributes that act as obstacles to KSA gaining a position as a business and conference tourism destination, while also noting that the themes have pointed out that several socio-political challenges surround the development of Saudi Arabia as a business and conference tourism destination.

Une littérature de fond sur le tourisme médical a été attribuée aux motivations des touristes médicaux. Des académiciens ont étudié les expériences des touristes médicaux et leur niveau de satisfaction. Néanmoins, le lien entre ces deux concepts a rarement été examiné dans la littérature sur le tourisme médical. Ainsi, cette étude examine les motivations des touristes médicaux destinées pour le tourisme médical et l’effet de ces motivations sur leur perception de la qualité, de la satisfaction, et de l’intention de revisiter. En outre, l’étude vise à explorer les différentes caractéristiques des touristes médicaux qui rendent à des classements différents. L'objectif est d'étudier les caractéristiques qui attirent les touristes médicaux vers la destination, pour améliorer leurs expériences et leurs satisfactions en matière de tourisme médical. De manière empirique, cette étude privilégie la destination touristique médicale, au niveau commercial et national pour un niveau mondial, en abordant les motivations et les perceptions des touristes médicaux. Les fondements théoriques sont tirés de la théorie «push» et «pull», du processus de prise de décision en cinq étapes, en plus des théories issues de la qualité de perception des services et la satisfaction de la littérature. Un cadre conceptuel a été développé pour illustrer la relation entre les variables de l’étude. Les motivations ont été classées en attirer «push» et pousser «pull». Les motivations d'attirer ont été classées en motivations associées à la destination, aux attributs médicaux, à la commodité et au prix. La qualité perçue a été classée en médecine et touristique. Méthodologiquement, l’étude incorpore une approche de triangulation où les données primaires ont été collectées auprès de fournisseurs impliqués dans le tourisme médical via des entretiens et auprès de touristes médicaux via une enquête. Huit entretiens ont été menés avec des fournisseurs de tourisme médical dans les pays d’étude, afin d’obtenir des informations approfondies sur le sujet et de procéder à une vérification plus approfondie du développement des connaissances quantitatives. Au total, 212 réponses ont été obtenues à partir de l’enquête pour vérifier le modèle quantitatif en utilisant le modèle d’équation structurel. D'autres techniques d'analyse des données ont été utilisées, principalement l'Analyse Factorielle Exploratoire et l'Analyse Factorielle Confirmatoire. Les résultats apportent un soutien à certaines relations hypothétiques. Les motivations d'attraction associées aux attributs médicaux affectent la qualité médicale perçue et les motivations d'attraction associées à la destination, aux attributs médicaux et à la commodité affectent la qualité touristique perçue. La qualité perçue à la fois médicale et touristique influe sur la satisfaction, tandis que la satisfaction affecte l’intention de la visite. Les constatations étendent également les applications des théories sous-jacentes pour expliquer le comportement des consommateurs dans le tourisme médical. Les principales théories comprennent un processus de prise de décision en cinq étapes et une théorie de la qualité du service de désaccord. Les implications de la recherche s'étendent au niveau de l'entreprise et au niveau national. Les résultats peuvent aider les gestionnaires impliqués dans les entreprises de tourisme médical, notamment les cliniques, les centres médicaux, les hôtels et les agences de voyages, à réaffecter leurs ressources et à mettre en œuvre les pratiques recommandées susceptibles d'améliorer leurs performances et d'attirer d'autres touristes. Au niveau national, les conclusions sont importantes pour les décideurs clés dans les domaines du tourisme et de la santé. A substantive literature of medical tourism has been attributed to medical tourists' motivations. Academicians have studied medical tourists' experiences and resulting satisfaction level. Nevertheless, the link between these two concepts has seldom been examined in medical tourism literature. Thus, this study examines medical tourists’ motivations for medical tourism destination, the effect of those motivations on their perception of quality, satisfaction and intention to revisit. In addition, the study aims to explore the various characteristics of medical tourists which yields in classifying them into different segments. The objective is to investigate the attributes that attract medical tourists to the destination as well as possible ways to enhance their medical tourism experience and satisfaction. Empirically, the study aims to promote the medical tourism destination at business and national levels to a world-class level by addressing the motivations and perceptions of medical tourists. Theoretical foundations are drawn from push-pull theory, five steps decision-making process, in addition to theories from service perceived quality and satisfaction literature. A conceptual framework was developed to illustrate the relationship between the study variables. The motivations were classified into push and pull. Pull motivations were classified into motivations associated with the destination, medical attributes, convenience and with price. Perceived quality was classified into medical and touristic. Methodologically, the study incorporates a triangulation approach where primary data were collected from suppliers involved in medical tourism via interviews and from medical tourists via survey. Eight interviews were conducted with suppliers of medical tourism in destination of study to obtain an in-depth insight into the subject matter as well as for further verification of quantitative knowledge development. A total of 212 responses were obtained from the survey for verification of the quantitative model using Structural Equation Modeling. Other data analysis techniques were employed, primarily Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The findings provide support to some hypothesized relationships.The pull motivations associated with medical attributes affect perceived medical quality and the pull motivations associated with destination, medical attributes and convenience affect perceived touristic quality. Both medical and touristic perceived quality affect satisfaction while satisfaction affected intention to revisit. The findings as well extend the applications of the underpinned theories in explaining consumer behavior in medical tourism. The main theories include five steps decision-making process and disconfirmation service quality theory. The implications of the research extend to business level and national level. The results can help managers involved in medical tourism businesses including clinics, medical centers, hotels and travel agencies to reallocate their resources and implement the recommended practices that can improve their performance and attract additional medical tourists. On a national level, the findings are significant to key decision makers in the fields of tourism and healthcare. The outcomes and recommendations can assist in increasing the attractiveness of the destination and improving the medical tourism experience which would result in economic benefit to the destination as a whole

This thesis examines the nature and elements of Maori involvement in tourism using a dyadic assessment of operator service quality. The SERVQUAL instrument has been proposed as an instrument for the measurement of perceived service quality within a wide range of service categories. The current research examines both the operation of the scale and its management implications in four major sectors of the New Zealand tourism industry. Data for this study was collected through random mall intercept using a judgemental nonprobability sample of leading Maori tourism operators. In total, two hundred and thirteen useable responses formed the basis of the results. Major outcomes of the study reveal that; the conceptualisation and measurement of Maori cultural impacts on service encounters is problematic due the difficulty in defining who and what is Maori; the definition and measurement of service quality as a five dimensional construct as in SERVQUAL appears to suffer from a number of methodological shortcomings. For researchers in the process of using SERVQUAL, the results of this study suggest to exercise caution. Suggestions are provided with implications for instrument modification. The final outcome of the study reveals that the service quality of Maori tourism operators contains significant service gaps highlighting potential strengths and weakness and profiles of sector specific characteristics for the future development of this tourism field.

The aim of this research is to develop and test a theoretical model of quality cultural heritage tourism. It offers an integrated approach to understanding cultural heritage development and management of tourist destinations, and attempts to extend the theoretical and empirical evidence regarding causal relationships including quality of experience, perceived quality, satisfaction and behavioural intentions. The previous literature has already presented the relationship among perceived quality, quality of experience, satisfaction and behavioural intentions in cultural heritage tourism. However, there is a relative lack of academic interest, particularly in Macao. Thus, this research tries to investigate the quality and related constructs in cultural heritage tourism. It seeks to understand the major constructs considered by local stakeholders and visitors in evaluating the quality in cultural heritage tourism, the importance of the availability of quality in the overall experience, visitors‘ behaviour toward quality cultural heritage tourism and also the constructs related to quality. The methodological approach of this research includes qualitative and quantitative methods in the field research in Macao, China. Semi-structured interviews with Macao stakeholders and a questionnaire survey with Macao visitors were used for data collection. A structural model of the relationships between perceived quality, quality of experience, satisfaction and behavioural intentions was tested SEM used in quantitative study tested the validity, reliability and potential of the quality models developed from literature reviews and grounded theory. The findings provide further evidence for the importance of perceived quality and quality of experience as the major constructs in the development of cultural heritage tourism and as a strategic objective which emphasises it as the core construct in cultural heritage tourism. The study also examines whether there is a relationship between quality of experience, perceived quality, satisfaction and behavioural intentions in cultural heritage tourism. The findings show that perceived quality leads to quality of experience and satisfaction. In addition, it suggests that perceived quality and satisfaction are the important determinants of behavioural intentions. An unexpected finding concerned the antecedents of perceived quality and the empirical results from the structural modelling presented in the study shows that authenticity, interpretations and behavioural intentions in cultural heritage tourism can affect the perceived quality which affects the quality of experience and their satisfaction indirectly. These results have generated a new concept in the literature. From the managerial standpoint, the findings offer suggestions for the future direction of cultural heritage tourism. It can enable researchers into cultural heritage tourism to gain a better understanding between these constructs and has shown an emerging consensus in their interrelationships. The tourism providers can improve quality of experience and perceived quality in cultural heritage tourism in order to develop effective strategies. Since cultural heritage tourism has been shown to be increasing and substantial, it should be beneficial for the destinations to examine the quality attributes and constructs that influence travelling and returning to cultural heritage destinations. By understanding the relationships between quality constructs, the tourism providers would better know how to develop cultural heritage tourism and improve the strategies to maximise its benefits. These findings are particularly useful to tourism providers because they provide directions for the implementation of sustainable cultural heritage tourism.

Abstract:
This thesis is based on four essays dealing with tourism development and its determinants. Chapter Two explores the different definitions of ‘tourism’ and ‘tourist’, as well as the factors that influence tourism arrivals. We discuss traditional and more recent theories that underlie the study of the tourism industry. The third chapter examines the effect of tourism upon economic growth, investigating the effects of tourism specialization within tourism-exporting countries and non-tourism-exporting countries annually over the period 1995–2007, applying panel-data methods in cross-sectional growth regressions. This study finds that tourism does not affect economic growth in either underdeveloped or developed countries. Moreover, tourism might cause Dutch Disease in tourism-exporting countries owing to their over-reliance on the exporting of non-traded goods. Chapter Four seeks to identify how institutional quality and aspects of infrastructure (internet access measured by size of country or per 100 people) influence tourist arrivals in a whole sample of 131 countries and in sub-samples comprising developed and developing countries (as defined by IMF criteria) using static and dynamic panel data. The findings indicate that internet access enhances the tourism industry, and most interestingly, that good governance is one of the most influential factors for improving and developing tourism. Chapter Five diagnoses the determinants of tourism flows using panel-data sets including 134 originating countries and 31 destination countries (selected depending on data availability) focusing on ICRG data for the period 2005–2009. The methodology makes use of basic and augmented gravity equations, together with the Hausman-Taylor and Poisson estimation techniques, whilst comparing the performance of the three gravity-equation methods. The results suggest that lower levels of political risk contribute to an increase in tourism flows. Furthermore, common language (positively), common currency (negatively) and political factors (particularly institutional quality) are the most prominent determinants in promoting (or deterring) tourism. Chapter Six gives concluding remarks.

AbstractTourism is the most affected industry by the Covid-19 pandemic. Both market changes and the new tourism development paradigm require reformulation of marketing strategies. More importantly, the new paradigm of tourism development in Indonesia, that is, the quality tourism paradigm, requires a reformulation of marketing strategies. Based on historical data (visitor statistics pre-pandemic) and current market data (during the pandemic), this research performed a cluster analysis to cluster the international tourist markets visiting Indonesia. The clustering was based on several variables: number, spending, and length of stay of tourists from each of the markets. The resulted clusters offer perspectives on the source markets, contributing to the biggest number of tourists, spending per tourist, and the average length of stay. As competition intensifies and the marketing budget shrinks, such market analysis provides sharpened market targeting strategies for the Indonesian tourism government and industry to formulate more targeted marketing strategies post-Covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract:
In the tourism industry, e-tourism has led to a growing need for the localization of tourist promotional websites to attract domestic and foreign tourists. This study focuses on the website novipazar.travel, which promotes the city of Novi Pazar in Serbia. Using the skopos theory of translation and tourist profiling based on cultural taxonomies and Serbian statistical analysis, this paper assesses the localization quality of tourism materials and analyses how the destination image of novipazar.travel is localized according to the tourist profiles. The findings show that the website shows high level of localization for domestic tourists, which is not the case for foreign tourists. This study contributes to a better understanding of how to tailor Serbian tourism materials to specific tourist profiles, resulting in more effective promotion.

The state of Kelantan, Malaysia is identified as a vibrant tourist destination as it has beautiful natural environs and has a rich and diverse cultural heritage that is easy to promote to tourists. Kelantan is also well known for its local cuisines that can attract the foodies. The uniqueness of the local cuisine also influences tourists to make other purchases. Using the quantitative research approach, this study aims to identify the relationship between food quality, price, and service quality towards the tourists intention to purchase local cuisine in Kelantan. These three independent variables will have a different role in explaining the factors that influence a tourist’s intent to purchase Kelantanese foodstuff.

Abstract:
Liminality is important in the tourism field to measure the tourist experience from their satisfaction, whether the actual reality experienced meets their expectations. Conceptual research method using secondary data are used in this study. This paper reviews some selected theories and models to comprehend more on the concept of liminality with tourism. For that, the theories and models that would be examined are Five Phases Tourism Model (1966), SERVQUAL Model (1988), Liminality Tourism Structure Model (2019) and Classical and Post-modern Liminality Comparative Theory (2016). The Five Phases Tourism Model is a model used to describe the experience in various phases: expectation, away trip, tourist destination, return trip, and memories, while a SERVQUAL Model is used to measure the quality of service. The Liminality Tourism Structure Model describes the tourist experience from various elements such as physical, social, and emotional. Finally, the Classical and Post-modern Liminality Comparative Theory compares the classical liminal experience of society in ancient times and the liminal experience of post-modern society. The literature review results show that the theories and models aid in explaining tourist experience using five phases and was influenced by several aspects. Thus, the combination of all these existing models related to liminality will help to understand tourists more deeply and measure the level of tourist satisfaction that are seen from their experience, expectation, and the actual reality being experienced by them.

The East Coast islands of Malaysia are becoming increasingly popular as a world-class nature tourism destination. Not only are they naturally beautiful and accessible, they are also attractive and appear as a destination image. However, whether satisfaction based on the aesthetic quality of the island is sufficient in determining a tourist’s duration of stay is being questioned. This study, therefore, sets out two objectives to investigate the relationship between Aesthetic qualities and Tourist Satisfaction which are to investigate which aesthetic quality has a significant influence on tourist satisfaction of Malaysia’s East Coast islands and to determine whether the length of stay has a significant influence on tourist satisfaction of the East Coast islands of Malaysia. This study used both quantitative and cross-sectional methods to collect data. Then a Smart PLS-SEM analysis was used on the 150 responses; the 5000 replication of samples reveals that all aesthetic qualities contributed to tourist satisfaction. The ANOVA analysis, supported by the post hoc multiple comparison analysis among the groups, the Least Square Difference (i.e., LSD) Fisher’s Test, and Games-Howell Test, yielded intriguing results for the significant difference between the duration of stay groups on these islands. All aesthetic qualities, especially scenery, showed significant differences during a short stay. The findings would raise public awareness of the importance of sustaining the aesthetic quality of island tourism while also benefiting many stakeholders. There is also a need for more promotional efforts to extend the tourists’ duration of stay. However, generalisations of the results of this study are limited to responses given mainly from three main islands of Terengganu.

Purpose – The aim of the article is to assess the significance and level of inconvenience of selected attributes of tourist services provided for people with various types of social exclusion, the disability among them. It may be helpful for understanding the possibility of separating customer groups and seeing their needs at particular stages of the supply chain in tourism (information, accommodation, transport, organization and intermediation). Methodology – The survey was conducted among disabled and seniors helped to identify quality gaps in the provision of tourism services, taking into account their complementarity and accessibility at every stage of the delivery. The empirical data were obtained as a result of a survey conducted with the use of the CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interview) method among persons with disabilities (n=610). The survey aimed to acquire respondents’ opinions on the significance (importance) and individual inconvenience to the respondent of a number of services related to a tourism trip. The method of Importance-Performance Analysis (I.P.A) and basic measures of descriptive statistics were used to analyze empirical data. Findings – The survey results show how much the expectations of people with disabilities differ from the stereotyped perception of both the community itself and barriers to information services and participation in the tourism market. The important gap related to the widespread use of modern information technologies in tourism services was particularly highlighted. The results of the study will help to indicate to what extent the tourist experience of a disabled person and seniors affect the assessment of the significance and inconvenience of selected attributes of tourist services. It can point out stereotyped perception of restrictions and expectations. Contribution – The results of the author’s original research are mostly of practical and social character. They can be used by entrepreneurs to analyze the quality and reliability of services provided by their partners and the behavior and needs of the disabled people and seniors in tourism. They will also be useful for local and regional authorities responsible for ensuring the competitiveness and inclusiveness of tourism regions.

Abstract:
Purpose – Urban tourism has not been adequately studied and many destinations that have conditions to develop urban tourism are still focused on other, more “traditional” types of attractions, especially coastal destinations with predominately sea and sun tourism. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of local residents in terms of their quality of life and their opinions on the potential shift from predominately coastal tourism to an urban tourism offering. Methodology – The research was conducted within the territory of the city of Opatija using a structured survey questionnaire. Univariate and bivariate statistical methods were used for statistical analysis. Research questions were tested using SPSS. Findings – Findings indicate that the residents of Opatija are not particularly satisfied with elements related to city quality of life. They are the most satisfied with air quality and green spaces, and the least, with public transport and health care. Those residents who are rather dissatisfied with the tourism development of Opatija have a significantly lower level of satisfaction with certain elements of quality of life. Further, residents show interest and support for the development of urban tourism and strongly support the shift from a seasonal distribution towards a more balanced year-round distribution of tourist flows. Contribution – This paper contributes to the body of knowledge on urban tourism and residents' support for urban tourism development. Results can be useful to local decision makers and tourism authorities in creating policies focused on future tourism development, but also in informing and involving local residents, regardless of their connection to tourism, in tourism planning and in understanding its benefits.

Initially, spiritual activities are directly connected with religion, and they have now shifted to the idea to something that is related with spiritual activities which include, creating comfort, pleasure and quality experience. Despite of the rapid development, it can be seen in the academic writing research, in which, there are still several researchers who argued religious and spiritual tourism as the same type of tourism. The phenomenon of religious spiritual tourism is more complex in the modern era and has been recognised as a separate tourism. Internationalising religious spiritual tourism in the context of people, places, and events has become a challenge. Religious spiritual tourism requires a new mode as a form of quality tourism development so that it will organise sociocultural life with varieties of unique customs and become a tool to increase regional income, creating job opportunities and indirectly improve Malaysians’ quality of life. Thus, there is an urge to integrate the religious aspect into spiritual tourism. Hence, this research aims to develop an Islamic Spiritual Tourism Model (ISToM) based on Maqasid As Shariah. Abstract:
Communication and information technologies have greatly influenced the changes of tourism as an activity, especially when it comes to distribution channels in tourism, achieving more accurate and closer communication with customers/tourists, easier access to information, which ultimately affected the creation of market competition with the focus on the tourist. Communication in the tourism industry is of universal importance if the goal is an adequate level of tourist satisfaction as well as competitiveness in the local and global market. Communication is not just promotional activity aimed at attracting tourists, but the totality of relationships that are realized before arrival, during staying and after the departure of tourists, and their quality determines the ratio of expected and achieved satisfaction of a service user. The aim of the research is to understand the different effects that communication (verbal and non-verbal) has in restrictive business conditions. In addition, the paper seeks to point out the practical aspects of the communication process of all participants, directly or indirectly, involved in the creation and provision of services in the tourism industry, with reference to the time of the pandemic.

Abstract:
Religious tourism demand is one of the major contributors to Saudi Arabia economy and considered to play an important role in the “Vision 2030”, which seeks to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy reliance on oil revenues. As the country has undergone structural changes in international tourism and removed travel restrictions in the past few years, there is a need to identify the determinant factors that influence international tourists to plan and manage their trips. Therefore, this current study aims to investigate the effects of economic and noneconomic factors on international tourist flows by using A panel data gravity model for the period 2000-2019. The empirical evidence is based on the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and the Panel Regression technique. The findings of the regression show that the traditional gravity variables are important to explain Saudi Arabia’s religious tourism demand. The study also has found that habit persistence, the Pandemic Index, GDP per capita of Saudi and the original countries, human rights and investments in the tourist sector have a significant and positive impact on religious tourism demand. While political risks, transport costs, and tourism price have a statistically significant and negative effect on religious tourists’ arrivals. This study will contribute largely to the tourism demand literature by introducing country characteristics factors which include human rights issues as security proxies, pandemics, and quality of life and by measuring the impact of these variables in tourism demand in the context of an oil-based economy that under the transition to a diversified economy with a new vision. The findings of this study may assist in the development of Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector and economic development by providing knowledge to policymakers, investors, and other tourism stakeholders.

Abstract:
Groundwater resources development and the threat of future drought in Garfield County, southwestern Utah, prompted a study of groundwater quality and quantity in the environs of Bryce Canyon National Park and Bryce Canyon City in Johns and Emery Valleys. Water quality, water quantity, and the potential for water-quality degradation are critical elements determining the extent and nature of future development in the valley. The community of Bryce Canyon City is an area of active tourism and, therefore, of potential increase in growth (likely from tourism-related development). Groundwater exists in Quaternary valley-fill and bedrock aquifers (the Tertiary Claron Formation and Cretaceous sandstone). Increased demand on drinking water warrants careful land-use planning and resource management to preserve surface and groundwater resources of Johns and Emery Valleys and surrounding areas that may be hydrologically connected to these valleys including Bryce Canyon National Park.

Abstract:
Abstract. The article reveals the experience of organizing blended learning for geography students using Google Classroom, and discloses its potential uses in the study of geography. For the last three years, the authors have tested such in-class and distance courses as “Cartography and Basics of Topography”, “Population Geography”, “Information Systems and Technologies in Tourism Industry”, “Regional Economic and Social World Geography (Europe and the CIS)”, “Regional Economic and Social World Geography (Africa, Latin America, Asia, Anglo-America, Australia and Oceania)”, “Socio-Economic Cartography”. The advantages of using the specified interactive tool during the study of geographical disciplines are highlighted out in the article. As it has been established, the organization of the learning process using Google Classroom ensures the unity of in-class and out-of-class learning; it is designed to realize effective interaction of the subjects learning in real time; to monitor the quality of training and control the students’ learning achievements in class as well as out of it, etc. The article outlines the disadvantages that should be taken into account when organizing blended learning using Google Classroom, including the occasional predominance of students’ external motivation in education and their low level of readiness for work in the classroom; insufficient level of material and technical support in some classrooms; need for out-of-class pedagogical support; lack of guidance on the content aspect of Google Classroom pages, etc. Through the test series conducted during 2016-2017, an increase in the number of geography students with a sufficient level of academic achievements and a decrease of those with a low level of it was revealed.

Johns and Emery Valleys are in south-central Utah, about 20 miles (32 km) southeast of Panguitch in Garfield and Kane Counties, and have a population of about 360 residents. However, Bryce Canyon National Park forms the southeastern boundary of the study area and tourist visitation to the park and the valleys reaches the millions annually. Water resource development and water quality concerns in this seasonally overpopulated area have prompted our comprehensive study of groundwater in Johns and Emery Valleys. This report presents a new estimate of valley-fill thickness; six valley-fill cross sections; potentiometric surfaces and water-level change maps; a water-level trend analysis; a comprehensive analysis of the stable isotope signatures of surface water and groundwater; a groundwater age analysis; a water balance of Johns and Emery Valleys and of Tropic Reservoir, all backed by gross estimates of water-budget components; a groundwater quality classification; and an evaluation of predicted water-quality degradation by future septic tanks.

Abstract:
This rapid review focuses on the impact COVID-19 pandemic om poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking. It provides an overview of the recent research and summarises the key themes. This review found that poaching for the purpose of international trafficking of illegal wildlife products, generally decreased. These declines are largely attributed to the disruption of transportation routes used by wildlife traffickers to move illicit goods within Southern Africa and overseas by air, and in some locations to the effects of local lockdown measures. Poaching for subsistence consumption (bushmeat) generally increased across Southern Africa and worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic, incentivised largely by economic hardship and opportunities presented by a reduction in the capacity for anti-poaching enforcement and reduced numbers of tourists, whose presence tends to deter poachers. In the long term, poaching and trafficking are likely to return to pre-pandemic levels. Commercial poachers and traffickers are likely to adjust their transportation routes and adapt their business models to take advantage of opportunities. More positively, some authors have suggested the possibility that the COVID-19 pandemic could influence public attitudes against wildlife trafficking and in support of conservation. Trends in poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking during the COVID-19 pandemic vary significantly across and within countries. The impacts resulting from the measures put in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19 have varied significantly depending on local contexts. Up-to-date data on recent trends during the pandemic are scarce. Good quality data are available on poaching and trafficking of high-value commodities such as elephant ivory and rhino horn, while data on poaching for subsistence are less rigorous and often anecdotal. Much of the evidence available for both types of poaching is not systematic and comes from news media reports, and suffers from inherent difficulties of collecting data on illegal activities. Data collection during the pandemic has also been hampered by the challenges of working safely during the pandemic, funding for monitoring and research has been reduced in most areas, and some reporting processes have not yet analysed data collected during 2021.

To understand the productivity levels of the sector and benchmark it, the APO and Singapore Tourism Board conducted a study across seven major cities. This report summarizes the outcomes of the research and serves as a guide for improving overall hotel productivity in the region. The publication provides insight into the steps for enhancing hotel service quality, ensuring continuous improvements to sustain long-term growth, and raising the value and appeal of hotel-related employment. It also provides information on innovative strategies and technologies used by different hotels.
