Abstract:
Background Quality indicators for nutritional therapy (QINT) are important in assessing care and monitoring of resources. Among the 30 indicators proposed by International Life Sciences Institute, Brazil, there is still no evaluation of the most pertinent for Pediatrics. Objective To list the 10 main quality indicators for nutritional therapies (QINTs) for Pediatrics. Methods This was a two-phase cross-sectional study. Firstly, a questionnaire was answered by physicians, nutritionists, nurses, and pharmacists, all with having experience in nutritional therapy (NT) with Pediatrics, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Participants assessed four attributes of QINT by using the Likert scale. A Top 10 ranked QINT list for Pediatrics was established. To verify the consistency of the questionnaire, Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was calculated. Secondly, the opinions of the participants on the results that were obtained were requested and the percentages of the positive responses were calculated. Results A total of 33 professionals participated in the first phase and 92% (n = 23 of 25) in the second phase approved the results of the selected indicators. Among the Top 10 QINTs, the three main ones were: #1: “Frequency of diarrhea in those patients on enteral nutrition” (mean = 13.194; α = 0.827); #2: “Frequency of dietary nutritional prescriptions upon the hospital discharge of the NT patients” (mean = 12.871; α = 0.822); #3: “Frequency of the NT patients who recovered their oral intake” (mean = 12.839; α = 0.859). Conclusion When considering the consistency and the concordance that were obtained, it can be suggested that the list of Top 10 QINTs as proposed in this study will help in the evaluation of NT quality indicators for Pediatrics.

Abstract:
Characterizing quantum systems through experimental data is critical to applications as diverse as metrology and quantum computing. Analyzing this experimental data in a robust and reproducible manner is made challenging, however, by the lack of readily-available software for performing principled statistical analysis. We improve the robustness and reproducibility of characterization by introducing an open-source library, QInfer, to address this need. Our library makes it easy to analyze data from tomography, randomized benchmarking, and Hamiltonian learning experiments either in post-processing, or online as data is acquired. QInfer also provides functionality for predicting the performance of proposed experimental protocols from simulated runs. By delivering easy-to-use characterization tools based on principled statistical analysis, QInfer helps address many outstanding challenges facing quantum technology.

Abstract:
Quality indicators in nutritional therapy (QINT) are measures of the effectiveness and quality of nutrition support. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the frequency of the QINT adequacy of Enteral Nutritional Therapy (EN) and/or Parenteral (PN) in hospitalized patients and identify the best indicators according to health professionals. A prospective study was performed, including data from patients aged 18 years or over admitted to clinical or surgical wards. The patients who had received EN and/or PN were followed from the first day of nutritional prescription until discharge. Twelve indicators were calculated, as recommended by the literature. Regarding professional opinion, the QINT adequacy was evaluated by observing its utility, simplicity, objectivity, and cost. Of the 727 hospitalized patients, 101 were on EN and/or PN. Regarding the 12 QINT evaluated, only 25% (3) achieved the goals: involuntary withdrawal of enteral feeding tube (0.01%); feeding tube occlusion or withdrawal per occlusion (0%); the measurement of energy and protein requirements (92%). A high frequency of non-compliance (75% of QINT) was observed in clinical and surgical patients on EN and/or PN. With knowledge of the six best indicators chosen by health professionals in this service, it will be possible to elaborate protocols according to the real-life situation in the institution.

Abstract:
In order to ensure the safety of long-span continuous prestressed concrete girder bridge constructed by hanging cradle method, a pre-camber is always made to reduce shrinkage and creep in the process of post-operation, the late loss of pre-stressed, deformation produced by live load and so on. Combining with Qinhe Bridge, how to install the pre-camber is studied in this paper. The maximum pre-cambers and their locations of every span of Qinhe Bridge are determined by the method of standard JTG D62-2004 with the finite element analysis software MIDAS/CIVIL. The results show that the final pre-camber curves calculated by the method of standard JTG D62-2004 and quadratic parabolic method have cusps, which cannot meet the standard requirements for the smooth of the bridge. But the slop of the final pre-camber curve calculated by cosine curve at the maximum pre-cambers and the pier top is zero, and the slop of curve from pier top to the mid-span is small, which satisfy the standard requirements for the smooth of bridge. Therefore, the final pre-camber curve should be calculated by cosine curve.

Abstract:
We investigate a degenerate parabolic variational inequality arising from optimal continuous exercise perpetual executive stock options. It is also shown in Qinet al.(Continuous-Exercise Model for American Call Options with Hedging Constraints, working paper, available at SSRN:http://dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.2757541) that to make this problem non-trivial the stock's growth rate must be no smaller than the discount rate. Well-posedness of the problem is established in Laiet al.(2015, Mathematical analysis of a variational inequality modeling perpetual executive stock options, Euro. J. Appl. Math., 26 (2015), 193–213), Qinet al.(2015, Regularity free boundary arising from optimal continuous exercise perpetual executive stock options, Interfaces and Free Boundaries, 17 (2015), 69–92), Song & Yu (2011, A parabolic variational inequality related to the perpetual American executive stock options, Nonlinear Analysis, 74 (2011), 6583-6600) for the case when the underlying stock's expected return rate is smaller than the discount rate. In this paper, we consider the remaining case: the discount rate is bigger than the growth rate but no bigger than the return rate. The existence of a unique classical solution as well as a continuous and strictly decreasing free boundary is proved.

Abstract:
Given its enduring association with “civilized Africa,” “urban Africa,” “rich Africa,” and “commercial Africa,” it is hardly surprising that the trans-Saharan salt-gold trade caught the imagination of Arab authors between the eighth and sixteenth centuries. We recall, for example, that al-Ya'qubi (872/73), the principal source on the Mande empire of Ghana before al-Bakri's Kitab al-masalik wa-'lmamalik (1067/68) first revealed “commercial Africa” to the Islamic world, drawing attention to the two major trans-Saharan routes leading south to the Sudan from Zawila in the east and Sijilmasa in the west, both roads eventually conjoining at the kingdom of Ghana, an ancient heartland of the Mande world. Or that Ibn Hawqal (988) astonished the Islamic world with accounts of “rich Africa” by thrice repeating (at least) his story of the promissory note for 42,000 dinars owed by one Muhammad b. Abi Sa'dun—a salt-gold trade from Awdaghost dealing with the Soninke of Ghana—to his counterpart(s) in Sijilmasa. Or that al-Bakri (1068) confirmed the stories of “urban Africa” with his account of Sijilmasa, the trading entrepot “built in the year 575-758,” and surrounded by “numerous suburbs with lofty mansions and other splendid buildings (where) there are also many gardens.” Or that traveling south from Sijilmasa to Mali—a later heartland of the Mande world—Ibn Battuta (1355), not in the least impressed with Taghaza (the western Sahara's major saline), nonetheless acknowledged as its only virtue the “qintar upon qintar of gold” arriving there from the Malian mines, which Taghaza's inhabitants (“slaves of the Masufa,” he sniffed) exchanged for salt.

Abstract:
There is an increase in the prevalence of elite youth sports academies, whose sole aim is to develop future elite athletes. This involves the exposure of the child and adolescent athlete to high-volume training during a period of volatile growth. The large amount of data in this area has been garnered from the resting echocardiographic left ventricular (LV) evaluation of the youth athlete; while this can provide some insight on the functional adaptations to training, it is unable to elucidate a comprehensive overview of the function of the youth athletes’ LV during exercise. Consequently, there is a need to interrogate the LV responses in-exercise. This review outlines the feasibility and functional insight of capturing global indices of LV function (Stroke Index-SVIndex and Cardiac Index-QIndex), systolic and diastolic markers, and cardiac strain during submaximal and maximal exercise. Larger SVI and QI were noted in these highly trained young athletes compared to recreationally active peers during submaximal and maximal exercise. The mechanistic insights suggest that there are minimal functional systolic adaptions during exercise compared to their recreationally active peers. Diastolic function was superior during exercise in these young athletes, and this appears to be underpinned by enhanced determinants of pre-load.

Abstract:
The concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) has increased rapidly worldwide, aggravating the global greenhouse effect, and coal-fired power plants are one of the biggest contributors of greenhouse gas emissions in China. However, efficient methods that can quantify CO2 emissions from individual coal-fired power plants with high accuracy are needed. In this study, we estimated the CO2 emissions of large-scale coal-fired power plants using Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2) satellite data based on remote sensing inversions and bottom-up methods. First, we mapped the distribution of coal-fired power plants, displaying the total installed capacity, and identified two appropriate targets, the Waigaoqiao and Qinbei power plants in Shanghai and Henan, respectively. Then, an improved Gaussian plume model method was applied for CO2 emission estimations, with input parameters including the geographic coordinates of point sources, wind vectors from the atmospheric reanalysis of the global climate, and OCO-2 observations. The application of the Gaussian model was improved by using wind data with higher temporal and spatial resolutions, employing the physically based unit conversion method, and interpolating OCO-2 observations into different resolutions. Consequently, CO2 emissions were estimated to be 23.06 ± 2.82 (95% CI) Mt/yr using the Gaussian model and 16.28 Mt/yr using the bottom-up method for the Waigaoqiao Power Plant, and 14.58 ± 3.37 (95% CI) and 14.08 Mt/yr for the Qinbei Power Plant, respectively. These estimates were compared with three standard databases for validation: the Carbon Monitoring for Action database, the China coal-fired Power Plant Emissions Database, and the Carbon Brief database. The comparison found that previous emission inventories spanning different time frames might have overestimated the CO2 emissions of one of two Chinese power plants on the two days that the measurements were made. Our study contributes to quantifying CO2 emissions from point sources and helps in advancing satellite-based monitoring techniques of emission sources in the future; this helps in reducing errors due to human intervention in bottom-up statistical methods.

Abstract:
A detailed optical and photoelectric characterization of pristine fullerene C60 films deposited onto n-silicon substrates (C60/Si), C60 films crosslinked by means of the solvent-free chemical functionalization with 1,8-diaminooctane (C60-DA/Si), and the pristine and crosslinked films decorated with silver nanoparticles (C60-Ag/Si and C60-DA-Ag/Si), was carried out. The reflectance spectra obtained allowed to calculate the absorption coefficient (α = 4pik/λ) spectral dependencies and the spectra of light transmittance in layered barrier structures metal(Au)/fullerene/Si. Photoelectric properties of the films were investigated as well. The experimentally measured values of band gap were in a good agreement with mobility gap values (2.3±0.1 eV). The decoration of fullerene films (both pristine and chemically crosslinked) with silver nanoparticles did not change the photocurrent spectra as compared to those for undecorated fullerene films, but lowered the values of internal quantum efficiency Qint. The photocurrent generated in fullerene/Si heterostructure, showed a maximum value at λ ∼450 nm (Qint max≈0.25 for decorated and undecorated C60-DA/Si films), and it was higher for the samples based on pristine C60 films, in accordance with their higher absorption coefficient. Diminishing of Qint for C60-DA/Si and C60-DA-Ag/Si films was observed for the spectral range of photocurrent generated in Si layer. The analysis of dark current–voltage characteristics showed that the barrier properties differ insignificantly, though a certain increase of series resistance was observed for the C60-DA/Si samples.

The results show that the slant tube may be flexural buckling, and the stress of side standing tube is over the design strength of material, so that there is potential danger of the scaffolding. After the horizontal tubes were installed along the boundary of scaffolding, the stresses of all tubes are less than the design strength of corresponding material.

Abstract:
Many arid and saline habitat species possess sparse canopies with cylindrical foliage that is considered relatively invariable along environmental gradients. However, even in sparse canopies strong gradients of light develop between the canopy top and bottom. We studied structural and photosynthetic acclimation to within-canopy light gradient in Casuarina glauca Sieb. ex Spreng., the photosynthetic organs of which are cylindrical cladodes. Seasonal average integrated quantum flux density (Qint) varied 25-fold between the canopy top and the canopy bottom. Cladode cross-sectional shape was unaffected by irradiance, but cladode dry mass per unit total area (MA) varied 2-fold within the canopy light gradient. This resulted primarily from light-dependent changes in cladode thickness (volume to total area ratio,V / AT) and to a lesser extent from changes in cladode density (D, MA = DV / AT). Nitrogen content, and the volume of mesophyll per unit surface area increased with increasing Qint and V / AT, resulting in positive scaling of foliage photosynthetic potential (capacity of photosynthetic electron transport and maximum Rubisco carboxylase activity per unit area) with light. However, nitrogen content per unit dry mass and the volume fraction of mesophyll decreased with increasing irradiance. This was explained by greater fractional investment in mechanical tissues in cladodes with greater volume to surface area ratio. This trade-off between photosynthetic and support investments reduced the cladode photosynthetic plasticity. Our study demonstrates a significant acclimation potential of species with cylindrical foliage that should be included in larger-scale carbon balance estimations of arid and saline communities.

Abstract:
Lead (Pb) exposure, in particular during early postnatal life, increases susceptibility to cognitive dysfunction and neurodegenerative outcomes. The detrimental effect of Pb exposure is basically due to an increasing ROS production which overcomes the antioxidant systems and finally leads to cognitive dysfunction. Kiwifruit is rich in the antioxidants like vitamin C and polyphenols. This study aims to investigate the effects and mechanism of kiwifruit to alleviate learning and memory deficits induced by Pb exposure. Sprague-Dawley (SD) rat pups acquired Pb indirectly through their mothers during lactation period and after postnatal day 21 (PND21) directly acquired Pb by themselves. Five kinds of kiwifruits were collected in this study and the amounts of vitamin C and polyphenols in them were measured and the antioxidation effects were determined. Among them, Qinmei kiwifruit (Qm) showed the strongest antioxidation effects in vitro. In vivo, Qm significantly repaired Pb-induced learning and memory deficits and dendritic spine loss. In addition, Pb compromised the enzymatic activity and transcriptional levels of SOD and GSH-Px and decreased the microglial activation, which, to some extent, could be reversed by Qm kiwifruit administration. The results suggest that kiwifruit could alleviate Pb-induced cognitive deficits possibly through antioxidative stress and microglia inactivation. Consequently, kiwifruit could be potentially regarded as the functional food favorable in the prevention and treatment of Pb intoxication.

Abstract:
IntroductionProviding smoking cessation treatment is an important intervention for tuberculosis (TB) patients. Mobile technologies, such as smartphone applications, have shown promising potential. However, there are few effective applications that could support TB patients in their efforts to quit smoking. To address this problem, we will develop a smartphone application ‘QinTB’ to help TB patients quit smoking, and we will evaluate the clinical efficacy of this application by using a randomised controlled trial (RCT).Methods and analysisThis is a two-step study. In the first step, we will develop a smartphone application based on an interactive application of the transtheoretical model and protection motivation theory. Then, we will perform an RCT using a two-arm design; a total of 400 patients will be randomly assigned to the application group or the doctors’ advice group; both treatments will be 6 months and follow-up will be 12 months; the primary outcome is the biochemically verified 6 month sustained abstinence rate; data will be analysed on an intention-to-treat basis.Ethics and disseminationThis study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Beijing Research Institute for Tuberculosis Control and Prevention. We will disseminate the findings of this study through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.Trial registration numberThis study was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR1900022008) and the stage is Pre-results.

Abstract:
Dike strengthening by warping construction is one of the main construction modes for the standardized dike construction of mainstream and tributaries in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, and whether the drainage in the dike strengthening by warping construction is smooth is closely related to the safety of dike project. Restricted by topographic conditions and construction conditions, existing drainage schemes are not applicable to the Qinhe River (the Yellow River’s largest tributary) Flood Prevention Project Wuzhi Section, which is next to farm cottage. Therefore, in this paper a field test was carried out using three drainage schemes---“L” type PVC seepage drainage pipes through dike, “L” type perforated PVC seepage drainage pipes coated with geotextile and geotextile drainage grilles. The drainage velocity, silt retaining effect, water level in the silt area, dike body deformation and other key indicators were obtained through field monitoring, and the safety and stability of the dike strengthening by warping construction project were verified by numerical calculation. The field test results showed that the drainage effect of the “L” type perforated PVC seepage drainage pipes coated with geotextile and geotextile drainage grilles was obviously better than that of the “L” type PVC seepage drainage pipes through dike, but the geotextile drainage grilles had advantages in silt retaining effect, construction convenience, cost, and improvement. The field test results can provide a reference for the quick drainage design and construction of dike back deposited with silt of the dike strengthening by warping construction project in the Yellow River.

Abstract:
Over the past decades, subjects concerned with the Chinese character “zhi之”, i.e. grammatical structure, in ancient Chinese language, have been widely explored. This paper conducts a research from a new dimension: the Cardiff Grammar, an integral part of Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) which is famous for its “problem-oriented theory”. In order to shed light on the semantics and syntactic functions of “zhi之” in the Chinese nominal group, this study examines five distinctive nominal groups involving “zhi之” with elaborate tree diagrams which are presented in each of the following sections. Through the contrastive study, we find that the Chinese character “zhi之” has some various functions in different situations: as genitive element (g), as modifier trigger (mtr), as selector (v), as qualifier introducer (qint) and as deictic determiner (dd).

Abstract:
The rural-urban (peri-urban) interface zones are important places that generate demands for ecosystem goods and services (EG & S). Urban regions face transitions in land use that affect ecosystem services (EG & S) and thus human wellbeing. Especially in urban areas with high population densities (as in most of China) and high demand for EG & S, the future availability of such services must be considered in order to promote effective and sustainable decision making and prevent further ecosystem degradation. The challenge for local government planners and land managers is to find tools that allow relevant data to be collected and analyzed. Ideally, such tools should be able to give a rapid assessment, and not involve large teams of highly trained personnel or incur high costs. The paper reports on the development and trial of such a tool. The paper has three main parts. First, we present a brief overview of the current and developing situation in China, in relation to urbanization, population shifts and the creation of peri-urban areas (PUAs). Next, we build on insights from the literature and from discussions with village heads and county- and prefecture-level officials to develop an understanding of their needs for tools to help planning and land management within the constraints of the national policy. Lastly, a “template” was derived from our multi-method approach that provided a new technical tool for the rapid assessment of the value of EG & S in each of five land use categories. The tool embodies a way to address trade-offs between environmental, social and economic values in the transition zone between rural and urban areas. The tool was trialed in QinBei District in Guangxi Autonomous Region in south China and judged to be useful and adaptable to other rural–urban regions.

Abstract:
THE EFFORT OF EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ON CORN DRYING PROCESS USING MIXED-ADSORPTION DRYER. The main problem in corn drying process is the low of energy efficiency (50%) and quality products. Consequently, operating costs in large for fuel consumption and the short shelf life of corn. Zeolite adsorption dryers have the potential to overcome this problem. This research aims to study composition of corn-zeolite and the effect of temperature on drying speed and protein and fat content in corn. Research variables are the ratio of corn and zeolite (1:0, 1:3, 1:1, 3:1) and intake air temperature (room temperature, 30oC, 40oC, 50oC). Sampling for moisture testing performed every 15 minutes. For energy purposes also calculated the energy efficiency (h) based on the amount of heat used to evaporate water from the corn (Qevap) divided by the total heat requirement to regenerate the zeolite and raising the air temperature (Qintr). Profiles of temperature and water in the mixed adsorption dryer are also studied. The results showed that the greater number of zeolite used, the water content of the final outcome a little more drying, protein and fat content of the final result of drying is relatively constant. The larger intake air temperature, the water content of the less drying results, protein content decreases, and the fat content does not change/relatively constant. The best variable was a ratio of corn: zeolite is 1:3 and air temperature was 50oC. While the variables that are suitable and in accordance with ISO standards for dry foods (14%) are air temperature of between 40oC and 50oC with a ratio of corn:zeolite is 1:3. The energy efficiency of 81.23% is obtained. Modeling done with FEMLAB (COMSOL) can describe the moisture content and temperature profiles in the corn and zeolite. Keywords: corn; drying; energy efficiency; mixed adsorption dryer; zeolite Abstrak Masalah utama proses pengeringan jagung adalah rendahnya efisiensi energi (50%) dan mutu produk sehingga beban biaya operasi besar untuk konsumsi bahan bakar. Abstract:
Climate variation and underlying surface dynamics have caused a significant change in the trend of evapotranspiration (ET) in the Yellow River Basin (YRB) over the last two decades. Combined with the measured rainfall, runoff and gravity recovery and climate experiment (GRACE) product, five global ET products were firstly merged using a linear weighting method. Linear slope, “two-step” multiple regression, partial differential, and residual methods were then employed to explore the quantitative impacts of precipitation (PCPN), temperature (Temp), sunshine duration (SD), vapor pressure deficit (VPD), wind speed (WS), leaf area index (LAI), and the residual factors (e.g., microtopography changes, irrigation, etc.) on the ET trend in the YRB. The results show that: (1) The ET estimates were improved by merging five global ET products using the linear weighting method. The sensitivities of climatic factors and LAI on the ET trend can be separately calculated using proposed “two-step” statistical regression method; (2) the overall ET trend in the entire study area during 2000–2018 was 3.82 mm/yr, and the highest ET trend was observed in the Toudaoguai-Longmen subregion. ET trend was dominantly driven by vegetation greening, with an impact of 2.47 mm/yr and a relative impact rate of 51.16%. The results indicated that the relative impact rate of the residual factors (e.g., microtopography, irrigation, etc.) on the ET trend is up to 28.17%. The PCPN and VPD had increasing roles on the ET trend, with impacts of 0.45 mm/yr and 0.05 mm/yr, respectively, whereas the Temp, SD, and WS had decreasing impacts of –0.19 mm/yr, –0.15 mm/yr, and –0.17 mm/yr, respectively. (3) The spatial pattern of impact of specific influencing factor on the ET trend was determined by the spatial pattern of change trend slope of this factor and sensitivity of ET to this factor. ET trends of the source area and the Qingtongxia–Toudaoguai were dominated by the climatic factors, while the residual factors dominated the ET trend in the Tangnaihai–Qingtongxia area. The vegetation restoration was the dominant factor causing the increase in the ET in the middle reaches of the YRB, and the impact rates of the LAI were ranked as follows: Yanhe Rive > Wudinghe River > Fenhe River > Jinghe River > Beiluohe River > Qinhe River > Kuyehe River > Yiluohe River.

Abstract:
Abstract. Antarctic ice sheet history is imprinted in the structure and fabric of the ice column. At ice rises, the signature of ice flow history is preserved due to the low strain rates inherent at these independent ice flow centres. We present results from a distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) experiment at Skytrain Ice Rise in the Weddell Sea sector of West Antarctica, aimed at delineating the englacial fabric to improve our understanding of ice sheet history in the region. This pilot experiment demonstrates the feasibility of an innovative technique to delineate ice rise structure. Both direct and reflected P- and S-wave energy, as well as surface wave energy, are observed using a range of source offsets, i.e. a walkaway vertical seismic profile, recorded using fibre optic cable. Significant noise, which results from the cable hanging untethered in the borehole, is modelled and suppressed at the processing stage. At greater depth where the cable is suspended in drilling fluid, seismic interval velocities and attenuation are measured. Vertical P-wave velocities are high (VINT=3984±218 m s−1) and consistent with a strong vertical cluster fabric. Seismic attenuation is high (QINT=75±12) and inconsistent with previous observations in ice sheets over this temperature range. The signal level is too low, and the noise level too high, to undertake analysis of englacial fabric variability. However, modelling of P- and S-wave travel times and amplitudes with a range of fabric geometries, combined with these measurements, demonstrates the capacity of the DAS method to discriminate englacial fabric distribution. From this pilot study we make a number of recommendations for future experiments aimed at quantifying englacial fabric to improve our understanding of recent ice sheet history.

Introduction: Enteral nutritional therapy is of great importance in the intensive care unit (ICU), due to the clinical conditions of these patients, who often have an inability to feed themselves orally. This study aims to analyze the goals and calculated caloric and protein adequacy prescribed and infused in hospitalized patients in the ICU of a general hospital. Methods: This is an observational and retrospective study, referring to the period from January to June 2018. We included patients ≥19 years old, who received enteral nutrition for at least 72 hours. It was analyzed the energy and protein nutritional goals, calculated, prescribed and infused in the inpatients. Values greater than 80% were adopted as a reference for adequacy. The paired t-test was performed in order to compare the calculated values of protein and calculated calorie, prescribed and infused. Statistical significance was set at p <0.05. Results: The study had a sample of 94 patients, with a mean age of 65.40 ± 17.51 years, being 54.26% male. The adequacy between calculated and prescribed nutrition was 99.68% for calorie and 91.18% for protein. The ratio between prescribed and infused nutrition was 96.38% and 95.97% for calorie and protein, respectively, and the relationship between calculated and infused was 96.06 and 87.5% for calorie and protein. Although all the means found obtained values greater than 80%, the means between the calories, prescribed vs. infused, calculated vs. infused and protein analysis, in all the questions presented p <0.001. Regarding quality indicators in nutritional therapy (QINT), it was observed that 26.6% of the sample obtained fasting time of nutritional pre-therapy > 48 hours. The frequency of diarrhea and constipation episodes were 32.98% and 51.06%, respectively. A total of 78.72% of patients reached their nutritional needs by the third day of NE. Conclusion: In the present study, it was possible to observe that the calculated, prescribed and infused caloric and protein mean values per kg of patient weight in TN patients, were close to the recommended minimum. However, the means were different, demonstrating the need for better adequacy of calculated, prescribed and infused calories and protein.

Abstract:
Abstract Background MK-1654 is a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) F glycoprotein neutralizing monoclonal antibody (mAb) with an extended half-life in late development to prevent RSV infection in infants. Neutralizing mAbs, like MK-1654, have great potential for prophylaxis against viral infection. However, well-validated approaches for clinical dose and efficacy predictions are lacking. Methods Summary-level literature data from RSV prevention studies were used in a model-based meta-analysis (MBMA) to describe the relationship between RSV incidence rates and serum neutralizing antibody (SNA) titer. The model was validated using viral challenge experiments in cotton rats and phase 3 RSV-A efficacy results in infants for an anti-RSV F mAb, REGN-2222. A phase 2b human RSV challenge study (HCS) in adults was also conducted with MK-1654. Participants (N=70) received 100, 200, 300, or 900 mg of MK-1564 or placebo and were challenged intranasally with RSV 29 days later. RSV viral load and symptomatic infection were monitored. Data from the HCS were compared to model predictions. The MBMA was used to predict efficacy of MK-1654 in a virtual population of pre- and full- term infants. Results The relationship between SNA titer and RSV incidence rate defined using the viral load data from the cotton rat approximated the relationship identified for infants from the clinical MBMA. The MBMA was quantitatively consistent with the phase 3 efficacy results against RSV A for REGN-2222. In the HCS, RSV nasal viral load measured by RT-qPCR and quantitative culture as well as symptomatic infections were decreased in MK-1654 recipients compared to placebo. Incidence rates of RSV infection in the HCS were also consistent with MBMA predictions. The model-based clinical trial simulations for MK-1654 indicated a high probability of substantial efficacy against RSV-associated medically attended lower respiratory tract infection ( >75% for 5 months) for doses ≥75 mg. Conclusion Our MBMA successfully quantified the relationship between RSV SNA and clinically relevant endpoints, including lower respiratory tract infection in infants. MBMA-based efficacy predictions support continued development of the MK-1654 antibody for the prevention of RSV in infants. Disclosures Brian M. Maas, PharmD, Merck & Co., Inc. Abstract:
Abstract The family Tomoceridae is among the earliest derived collembolan lineages, thus is of key importance in understanding the evolution of Collembola. Here, we assembled a chromosome-level genome of one tomocerid species Tomocerus qinae by combining Nanopore long reads and Hi-C data. The final genome size was 334.44 Mb with the scaffold/contig N50 length of 71.85/13.94 Mb. BUSCO assessment indicated that 96.80% of complete arthropod universal single-copy orthologs (n = 1,013) were present in the assembly. The repeat elements accounted for 26.11% (87.26 Mb) and 494 noncoding RNAs were identified in the genome. A total of 20,451 protein-coding genes were predicted, which captured 96.0% (973) BUSCO genes. Gene family evolution analyses identified 4,825 expanded gene families of T. qinae, among them, 47 experienced significant expansions, and these significantly expanded gene families mainly involved in proliferation and growth. This study provides an important genomic resource for future evolution and comparative genomics analyses of Collembola.

Abstract:
We present a participatory creative research project about the embodied experience of queer African youth, which brought together queer young people, academics and artists from Southern and East Africa (as the Qintu Collab) to produce popular media. We describe objectives and process and argue that this work can best be understood as collaborative graphic autoethnography. By working together, the Collab produced the anthology Meanwhile. . .: Graphic Short Stories About Everyday Queer Life in Southern and East Africa, that challenges dominant representations of African queerness, including pathologising public health discourses and heteronationalist political propaganda. This work also dialogically generated socially experienced embodied knowledge about the wellbeing, relationships, fears and aspirations of young queer people. Such collaboration pushes the boundaries of collaborative, autoethnographic and visual methods. Examining our experience shows the co-constructed nature of knowledge and reveals the considerable power of comics as analytical texts, and as basis for further analysis.

Abstract:
Since December 2019, the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has become a non-neglectable context for the whole healthcare system. Under the background of COVID-19, the detection and diagnosis of malaria cases are under challenge. Here, we reported a COVID-19 and malaria co-infection traveler who has a long living history in Cameroon. The case was administered with dihydroartemisinin and piperaquine tablets for malaria, Lopinavir and Ritonavir tablets, Arbidol, recombinant human interferon α-2b and Compound Maxing Yifei mixture for COVID-19, and Zolpidem Tartrate tablets, Diazepam, Paroxetine Hydrochloride tablets, Thymosin α1, and Lianhua Qinwen Jiaonang during the second hospitalization of the patient since the patient has a certain level of anxiety and insomnia with no evidence of inflammatory reactions. After being tested negative two times for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in 48 h, the patient met China's COVID-19 discharge standards and was discharged with stable vital signs and mental state. Since most countries in the sub-Saharan region have a fragile health system, co-infection for both Plasmodium and SARS-CoV-2 may not be uncommon, and raise a challenge in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention for both diseases. We add to the literature on co-infection of P. falciparum malaria and COVID-19 and offer operational advice on diagnosis, prevention, and treatment for the co-infection.

Abstract:
AbstractNew and old subgrade stability is a crucial problem for widening projects in soft soil foundations because uncoordinated deformations can cause serious engineering accidents, even disasters. In order to ensure the stability of a widening expressway project near a pond in the Qinbei section, a series of on-site investigations, lab tests, and numerical analyses was performed. The settlement and displacement of on-site monitoring were carried out during the construction period to verify the analyzed results. It was found that the uneven settlement caused heavy settlement and displacement of the embankment; thus, net cracks and longitudinal cracks occurred in the expressway. The new embankment was also affected by the weak foundation; therefore, the foundation should be reinforced before the construction of the widening part. Considering the economy and effectiveness of the widening project, the replacement method was recommended for the weak foundation reinforcement based on the numerical analysis and on-site motoring results. Water pumping had a significant effect on the settlement of the embankment. Water pumping caused seepage in the foundation and increased the effective stress of the soil, making the foundation more consolidated. The pond slope should be reinforced before the construction of the embankment because it was not confined by the surrounding soil. Therefore, the slope soil could not provide sufficient passive soil pressure and easily slide.
