Zheng Qinwen is tolerant is in literary works. In skills, he inherits literary characteristics from western writers such as Chekov, Hemingway, and Faulkner. The content contains people, things, and objects around him in depth and large scope. For him, literature is life, art and thoughts. Literature in life is to write reality in life. Literature in art is to seek pres-entation of beauty. Literature in thoughts is to explore of mortal value of pure virtue. The literary view of Zheng Qinwen is presentation of truth, virtue and beauty. Zheng Qinwen attempts to reflect the life in real world and depiction of life is the major theme in his works. For him, limit of life is the tragic destiny of people. The way to respect life is to aggressively face the limit of life. In his works, theme of life is specifically expressed. As mankind invented good nature of trust and love, meaning and value of life can be shown. Trust reconciles savage in the society from competition. Love soothes anger and hated from emotions. His main purpose is the hope that people can stay away from the nightmare of death and face the death bravely in order to break away from the fear of death and find out the meaning in life to build the value of eternal perfect life. The short novels of Zheng Qinwen are depiction of sadness in life. Roles in his works are representation of common people working hard, who are the heroes in Zheng Qinwen. The most touching works describe sad life of people struggling in adversity. He realistically expresses the self-interest in society, fatalism of women and political accusations. Each life has individual target and reason. These sad roles floating in life are the modern heroes to Zheng Qinwen. The greatest value of Zheng Qinwen’s works is the mental healing. He hopes to bring self-awareness in life of searching for self and life to readers. From self-awareness, one can have life assured. Reconstruction power mind can be awakened. Most of melancholy in life is from frustration and loss. Mental healing is to adjust our mindset to transform the frustration and loss and rebuild the happy life of hope. He describes impacts of environment on frustration and analyzes the loss inside the mentality. His works present the adjustment and reconstruction of people when facing the frustration and loss. Such self-rescue is the identification of human self-awareness. The three themes of life depiction, sad reality and mental healing in Zheng Qinwen’s works express the morality mission. The works not only shows his respect and care of life but also records the life image of people in Taiwan realistically, reawakening the reconstruction power. Such composition is rare in the literature in Taiwan and is what makes Zheng Qinwen different from other writers in Taiwan.
