Abstract:
Alkaloids, saponins, steroid, terpenoid, flavonoids, phenolic distribution in 14 Malaysian favourite ulam and fruit belonging to different families were assessed and compared. The plants investigated wereparkia speciosa(petai),solanum torvum(terung pipit),pithecellobium bubalinum(kerdas),moringa oleifera(kacang kelor),dryobalanops oblongifolia(keladan),cosmos caudatus(ulam raja),mentha arvensis(pudina),ocimumsp. (selasih),cymbopogon nardus(serai wangi),eugenia polyantha(serai kayu),Barringtonia scortechinii, (Putat),musasp. (pisang),talinum paniculatum(akar som) andphyllanthus acidus(cermai).Moringa oleiferaleaf anddryobalanops oblongifoliafruit were found contain positive reactions of alkaloids. All the samples studied also show high content of saponin except in bark and seed ofparkia speciosaand stem ofphyllanthus acidus. Meanwhile, results of the phytochemical screening on saponins, steroids, terpenoids, phenolic and flavonoids showed thatcosmos caudatus,ocimum sp., mentha arvensis, barringtonia scortechiniiandmoringa oleiferawere the active compounds present in the leaves of the plant.

Abstract:
Presently there are very few Malaysian Volunteers. The former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato 'Sri Najib Abdul Razzaq, had encouraged volunteerism as a multi-ethnic Malaysian social lifestyle, to make Malaysia a center and volunteer model. Showing statistics released by UNHCR in Malaysia in October 2018, there are about 8645 registered refugees in Malaysia coming from Arab countries including Yemen, Syria, Iraq and Palestine. The refugees are increasing every day, and this situation paves the way for Malaysians to participate in voluntary work. This study aims to achieve the following objectives; Statement of language requirements in the field of humanitarian work, to demonstrate skills to focus on humanitarian volunteers and to design the standard statement of Arabic language for professional purposes in the field of humanitarian work. Keywords: Arabic for special purposes, Arabic for Professional Purposes, humanitarian volunteers, Curriculum. Abstrak Pada masa ini terdapat sangat sedikit Sukarelawan Malaysia. Mantan Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Dato 'Sri Najib Abdul Razzaq, telah mendorong kesukarelaan sebagai gaya hidup sosial pelbagai etnik Malaysia, untuk menjadikan Malaysia sebagai pusat dan model sukarelawan. Menunjukkan statistik yang dikeluarkan oleh UNHCR di Malaysia pada Oktober 2018, terdapat sekitar 8645 pelarian berdaftar di Malaysia yang berasal dari negara-negara Arab termasuk Yaman, Syria, Iraq dan Palestin. Pelarian semakin meningkat setiap hari, dan keadaan ini membuka jalan bagi rakyat Malaysia untuk mengambil bahagian dalam pekerjaan sukarela. Abstract:
In the current development, it is found that the growth of alternative treatment centers based on "Islamic treatment" is growing in line with the development of mainstream technology. The question is, what is the reality and significance of Islamic treatment institutions in Malaysia despite its rapid growth? Therefore, this article tries to reveal the reality and scenario of the development of Islamic treatment centers in Malaysia for the consideration of all parties. Islamic treatment centers in Malaysia do have the potential to be developed and even able to transcend national borders. This can be proven when the demand for treatment services based on "tibb nabawi" is getting more attention. However, after the growth of the Islamic treatment center, there were also heard complaints, ridicule and cynical tone towards the Islamic treatment center, either from patients or nurses of the same age. Many claim that certain treatment centers still practice the genie element in treatment. Not to be outdone, many patients and even Islamic medical practitioners themselves claim that there are still elements of the use of jinn in Islamic treatment. So, what is the view of the founders of Islamic medical institutions in Malaysia regarding the use of jinn in treatment? Through a study at seventy (70) Islamic treatment centers in Malaysia through a project under the University of Malaya research grant in December 2012 to June 2013 numbered UMRG 419-12 HNE Al-Quran & Al-Sunnah Alternative Treatment Center: A Malaysian study, researchers have conclude various useful inputs starting with the background of the nurse or founder as well as the background of the Islamic treatment institution in Malaysia itself. The views of the founders of the Islamic treatment center on the use of jinn are also included in order to be a medium of knowledge of members of the community as a whole to be used as a guide in assessing the credibility and integrity of Islamic treatment centers in Malaysia. Dalam perkembangan semasa kini, didapati pertumbuhan pusat rawatan alternatif berteraskan “rawatan Islam” semakin berkembang sejajar dengan perkembangan teknologi arus perdana. Persoalannya, apakah realiti dan signifikan institusi rawatan Islam di Malaysia di sebalik pertumbuhannya yang pesat? Justeru, artikel ini cuba mendedahkan tentang realiti dan senario perkembangan pusat rawatan Islam di Malaysia untuk renungan semua pihak. Pusat rawatan Islam di Malaysia sememangnya memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan bahkan mampu melangkaui sempadan negara. Hal ini boleh dibuktikan apabila permintaan terhadap khidmat rawatan berasaskan “tibb nabawi” kian mendapat perhatian. Namun, setelah berkembangnya pusat rawatan Islam, terdengar pula di telinga rungutan, cemuhan dan nada sinis terhadap pusat rawatan Islam, sama ada dari pesakit atau perawat seangkatan. Banyak pihak yang mendakwa pusat rawatan tertentu masih mengamalkan unsur jin dalam rawatan. Tidak kalah juga ramai pesakit bahkan pengamal perubatan Islam sendiri yang mendakwa masih terdapat unsur-unsur penggunaan jin dalam rawatan Islam. Jadi, apakah pandangan para pengasas institusi rawatan Islam di Malaysia berkaitan penggunaan jin dalam rawatan? Melalui kajian di tujuh puluh (70) pusat rawatan Islam di Malaysia melalui projek di bawah geran penyelidikan Universiti Malaya pada Disember 2012 hingga Jun 2013 bernombor UMRG 419-12 HNE Pusat Rawatan Alternatif Berteraskan Al-Quran & Al-Sunnah: Kajian Malaysia, pengkaji telah menyimpulkan pelbagai input berguna bermula dengan latar belakang perawat atau pengasas serta latar belakang institusi rawatan Islam di Malaysia itu sendiri. Abstract:
It is significant for the reverts to have an existing helping organization. Therefore, this study aims to identify organizational issues that are directly and indirectly involved with counsellors at the Council of Islamic Religious Department in Malaysia. This study utilizes a qualitative approach by using the case study method. This study involved five (5) counsellors from Council of Islamic Religious Department in Malaysia. This study used the N'Vivo 10.0 for the data analysis to develop themes and sub-themes that related to this study. The findings showed that there are two (2) sub themes involved both government and non-government. There are six (6) sub-sub themes for the government which are Jabatan Agama Islam, Jabatan Mufti, Pusat Dakwah Islamiah, Pusat Kaunseling MAINS Negeri Sembilan, Jabatan Kehakiman and Baitulmal. While, non-government has ten (10) sub-sub themes; Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia, Unit Saudara Baru, Unit Ukhuwah, Pusat Saudara Baru Darul Saadah, Darul Ukhuwah Yayasan Kasih Sayang, Volunteer Body, Malaysian Chinese Muslim Association (MACMA), Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia (PERKIM), PERKAMA and Skuad Mubaligh Seremban. In conclusion, this study could be used as a guide for counsellors to provide guidance and counselling services to revert clients. Keywords: Organization; support system; revert and client.

Abstract:
Internet addiction among teenagers is an important issue discussed around the world. Almost all experts cite this issue as part of the main problems of the country. The main purpose of this study was to study internet addiction among students in public institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. The main focus of the study is to examine the addiction from the aspects of emotional and cognitive preoccupation with the internet among IPG students in Malaysia. The study also examined addiction from the aspect of loss of control and disruption of daily life to the internet among IPG students in Malaysia. This study uses quantitative methods as the main design. This survey study involved respondents consisting of 614 trainee teachers selected according to IPG zones throughout Malaysia. A descriptive statistical approach was used to obtain the level of internet addiction. The questionnaire instrument was adapted from An Internet Addiction Scale by Kimberly (1998) which was modified to coincide with the study conducted. The analysis was conducted using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Vol. 21 (SPSS) and analyzed descriptively to explain the findings of the study. The findings of this study as a whole found that internet addiction among students at IPG is at a moderate level. It is hoped that this study can provide good input to all parties to formulate actions for the well-being of society by forming a new generation that is concerned about the selection and use of information resources on the internet effectively.

Abstract:
Most alumni studies were studied with a theoretical background involving microeconomic strategies, charity contribution literature, management, marketing relations, marketing services, science education, and integrative approaches. Research in the field of communication strategy in determining alumni loyalty that is directly related to the field and theoretical communication is minimal. There is no empirical evidence from the point of view of strategic communication that proves the relationship between the university's efforts and alumni's contribution to the university. Some studies have suggested the application of customer relationship management in universities. Through customer relationship management, analysis of communication needs between the university, students, and alumni can be identified. Therefore, this paper aims to describe the communication strategy carried out by the University through the Alumni Center to establish good relations with the alumni. This study was carried out using a qualitative method which is interviews. An interview session was held with the Director of the Alumni Center, six former Directors, and an administrative officer who has served the Alumni Center for several years since its establishment. The results of the study found that various strategies have been carried out by the UUM Alumni Center that can be linked to communication strategies. These include the channel strategy, message strategy, branding strategy, collaboration strategy, and social marketing strategy. The results of this study contribute to strategic communication, considering that the fields of marketing management, economics, and educational science mostly pioneer the highlights of alumni research literature.

Abstract:
The Philosophy and Contemporary Issues (FIS) course is one of the generic courses that must be taken by students in all Malaysian HEIs starting from the 2019/2020 intake session. The FIS module was developed with the aim of preparing students to be able to think critically and integrally in responding to various thinking challenges related to current issues. Critical thinking is an important element that needs to be applied in the curriculum of study at all levels. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyse the elements of the formation of critical thinking in the study modules of FIS courses implemented at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. This study is included in a qualitative study. Thus, this study uses a document analysis design consisting of FIS modules, journals, and review articles related to the formation of critical thinking. The results of the study found that there are several elements of skills and sub-skills that can contribute towards the formation and application of critical thinking in the study modules of FIS courses offered at Universiti Malaysia Sabah. By studying this course, it is hoped that students' appreciation of this course will continue to increase and can help in the process of forming critical thinking in line with the direction of the national education system, namely value-based education.

Perdagangan lintas negara Malaysia - Indonesia telah berlangsung lebih dari 30 tahun sejak tahun 29170 dengan payung hukum kesepakatan perdagangan lintas negara (The Border Trade Agreement (BTA) Between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of Malaysia). Pada tahun 2015, pemerintah melalui Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan (KKP) memiliki kebijakan khusus untuk pengembangan ekonomi wilayah perbatasan pembangunan Sentra Kelautan dan Perikanan Terpadu (SKPT) di pulau-pulau kecil dan terluar. Pulau Sebatik merupakan salah satu lokasi perbatasan yang sangat strategis untuk dikembangkan dan karena alasan tersebut, lokasi ini menjadi salah satu lokasi dari SKPT. Pembangunan SKPT Sebatik secara tidak langsung diperkirakan dapat menimbulkan dampak terhadap perkembangan kerjasama sosial ekonomi Malaysia -Indonesia (Malindo), karena pembangunan SKPT memunculkan pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi baru di wilayah perbatasan Malindo. Tujuan paper ini membahas pengaruh Pengembangan SKPT Sebatik terhadap dinamika kesepakatan kerjasama perdagangan lintas batas Indonesia dan Malaysia. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menganalisa data primer dan sekunder yang bersumber pada observasi lapangan, wawancara dan dokumen-dokumen kesepakatan kerjasama. Kajian menemukan bahwa kebijakan pembangunan dan pengembangan SKPT Sebatik diperkirakan akan memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap kerjasama perdagangan lintas batas Indoensia Malayasi yang selanjutnya lebih dikenal Sosek Malindo. In 2015, the government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) had a policy for the economic development of the border areas for the development of the Integrated Marine and Fisheries Center (SKPT) on small and outermost islands. Sebatik Island is a very strategic border location to be. Therefore, Sebatik was chosen as one of the locations of the SKPTs. The Sebatik SKPT development will indirectly influence the development of Malaysian-Indonesian (Malindo) socio-economic cooperation. the SKPT development raises a new economic growth center in the Malindo border region. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the effect of the Development of Sebatik SKPT on the dynamics of cross-border trade agreements between Indonesia and Malaysia. The study uses qualitative method by analyzing primary and secondary data sourced from field observations, interviews and cooperation agreement documents. The study found that the development policy of the SKPT Sebatik is expected to have a positive influence on the cross-border Indonesian trade cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia, which is later known as Sosek Malindo. The development of the SKPT will increase the bargaining value of Indonesia’s position in the Indonesia-Malaysia socio-economic cooperation negotiations, especially related to the trade of fishery products across Indonesia and Malaysia

Teater Forum adalah sejenis terapi sosial di mana penonton tidak hanya menonton permainan tetapi juga digalakkan untuk mengambil bahagian dan memberikan idea-idea dan penyelesaian kepada masalah. Teater Forum boleh memberi peluang kepada remaja untuk bercakap untuk diri mereka sendiri, menyuarakan emosi dan perasaan mereka dengan cara yang betul dan selamat dan pada masa yang sama memberi alternatif dan penyelesaian kepada masalah mereka. Teater Forum telah berjaya dilakukan di negara-negara Eropah di bawah nama `Power Play’,`Therapy Play’, `Theatre of Revolution’ dan ‘Teater Forum untuk Perubahan Sosial’. Untuk mengesahkan keberkesanan pendekatan yang disesuaikan, bengkel bersama remaja bermasalah di dua pusat pemulihan dikenali sebagai Sekolah Tunas Bakti (STB) telah dijalankan. Dapatan daripada kedua-dua bengkel telah dikaji dan dianalisis dan diikuti dengan pendekatan yang sesuai untuk konteks Malaysia. Hasilnya akan menyediakan model bagi rakyat Malaysia yang berminat untuk mengaplikasi teknik pada masa depan. Forum Theater is a kind of social therapy where people are not just watching the game, but are also encouraged to participate in the game and provide ideas and solutions to the problems. Forum Theater can provide the opportunity for the adolescents to speak for themselves, voice their emotions and feelings in a proper and safe way, and at the same time give alternatives and solutions to their problems. Forum Theater has been successfully perfomed in European countries under the names of ‘Power Play’, ‘Theatre of Revolution’ and ‘Theatre for Social Change’. To implement the approach in Malaysia, some modifi cations and adjustments were made by adapting several other therapeutic approaches such as Psychodrama and Playback Theatre. To verify the eff ectiveness of the adopted approach, workshops with the troubled adolscents in two rehabilitation centres known as Tunas Bakti Schools (STB) were conducted. Results from these two workshops were studied and analyzed, and a new adapted approach appropriate for the Malaysian context has been constructed. The outcome will provide a model for Malaysians who are interested in applying the technique in future.

Mutakhir ini, banyak isu-isu berkaitan Islam mendominasi kehidupan masyarakat Malaysia. Masyarakat Muslim khasnya, sering berhadapan dengan pelbagai polemik dan persoalan-persoalan terutamanya perkara-perkara yang bersangkut-paut dengan isu ekonomi, politik dan sosial. Antara isu hangat ialah isu sensitiviti agama yang berkaitan penyalahgunaan ayat al-Quran sebagai medium untuk melariskan jualan perkhidmatan dan produk. Oleh itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan ayat-ayat al-Quran yang telah salah digunakan bagi kepentingan peribadi dalam kalangan pengamal pengubatan Islam di Malaysia. Melalui metode temu bual dan observasi, kajian ini dijalankan di zon utara dan zon timur Malaysia untuk mewakili sampel rawak kajian bagi Pusat Pengubatan Islam. Sebanyak 36 orang pengamal dan 45 orang pesakit dari Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu dan Pahang telah ditemu bual dan dijalankan observasi untuk mendapatkan data. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa penyalahgunaan ayat-ayat al-Quran dalam kalangan pengamal pengubatan Islam di Malaysia berlaku dalam empat aspek. Pertama, ayat al-Quran yang digabungkan dengan jampi serapah yang tidak difahami sehingga bercampur aduk dan mengelirukan. Kedua, ayat al-Quran yang dibacakan secara terbalik (iaitu bacaan bermula dari belakang ke pangkal ayat) yang juga dijadikan sebagai bacaan ruqyah atau jampi kepada pesakit. Ketiga, al-Quran atau ayatnya dijadikan sebagai azimat yang digunakan sebagai tangkal untuk menolak bala; dan keempat naskhah al-Quran atau sebahagian helaiannya dijadikan sebagai bahan untuk berdamping dengan makhluk halus. Tegasnya, dapatan membuktikan wujudnya sebahagian para pengamal menyalahgunakan ayat al-Quran dalam amalan pengubatan mereka. Justeru dengan menjelaskan fungsi al-Quran secara tepat kepada masyarakat dan pemantauan terhadap pusat perubatan Islam oleh pihak berkuasa, diharapkan penyalahgunaan ayat Quran tidak akan berlaku lagi. Muslim societies, are often faced various polemics and concerns, especially those relating to economic, political, and social issues. One of provocative issues is the concern of religious sensitivity related to the misuse of Quranic verses as a medium in the pursuit of service and product sales. This article aims to study the Quranic verses which have been misused for personal purpose among medical Islamic practitioners in Malaysia. Through the methods of interview and observation, the study was conducted in the northern and eastern zones of Malaysia to represent a random sampling from the Islamic Medical Center. A total of 36 practitioners and 45 patients from Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang were interviewed and observed for data collecting purposes. This present study found that the misuse of Quranic verses among medical Islamic practitioners in Malaysia occurred in four aspects. First, Quranic verses are combined with an unintelligible spell which create confusion. Second, the Quranic verses are read in reverse in which the reading begins from the end to the beginning of the verse which is also used as a ruqyah or spell to treat the patient. Third, Quranic verses are used as a charm to resist calamity; and forth, Quranic recitation or parts of its page is used as a material to accompany the supernatural. In fact, the findings prove that some practitioners have misused Quranic verses in their practice of Islamic medicine. Thus by explaining the function of the Quran accurately to the community and monitoring the Islamic medical center by the authorities, it is hoped that the misuse of Quranic verses will not be repeated. Zakat pertanian merupakan antara sumber zakat yang penting di Malaysia.Hal ini kerana sektor pertanian antara sektor utama yang menjadi tulang belakang kepada ekonomi di Malaysia di samping sektor perkhidmatan dan sosioekonomi masyarakat Malaysia juga antaranya berasaskan pertanian. Pertubuhan kutipan zakat di Malaysia telah pun menjalankan kutipan zakat hasil tanaman atau pertanian demi merealisasikan tuntutan syariat. Hasil pertanian yang wajib dikeluarkan di Malaysia ialah hasil pertanian yang berbentuk makanan asasi (qut al-balad) dan mengenyangkan bagi sesebuah negeri. Pentakrifan inilah yang diperjelaskan oleh kebanyakan pusat pungutan zakat negeri di Malaysia seperti Kedah (Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah), Selangor (Lembaga Zakat Selangor), Melaka (Pusat Zakat Melaka), Pahang (Pusat Kutipan Zakat Pahang) dan lain-lain.Dalam konteks Malaysia dimaklumi bahawa makanan asasi masyarakatnya beras ataupun padi. Oleh sebab itu, zakat tanaman adalah diwajibkan ke atas padi apabila telah sempurna syarat-syaratnya.Zakat tanaman suatu perkara yang penting dalam Islam yang menjadi salah satu ibadat sebagai bukti ketaatan kepada Allah, bahkan mendatangkan kemaslahatan dalam kehidupan umat Islam. Memperkasakan zakat sama seperti memperkasakan umat Islam. Pemerkasaan zakat pertanian dapat memberikan beberapa faedah antaranya, mempertingkatkan taraf sosioekonomi umat Islam, menjamin pusingan kekayaan dalam kalangan masyarakat dan membantu golongan yang memerlukan terutamanya fakir miskin. Disebabkan itulah setiap bidang pengurusan zakat padi perlu diperkemaskan dari sudut tadbir urus, kaedah kutipan dan agihan zakat serta mempertingkatkan produktiviti zakat tanaman padi.Buku ini memberikan beberapa cadangan yang perlu diberi perhatian dalam usaha memperkasakan zakat pertanian khusus tanaman padi di negeri Kedah. Oleh sebab itu, perlu adanya kerjasama erat antara pengusaha sawah dengan pihak pengurusan pertanian serta pentadbir zakat negeri Kedah dalam merealisasikan cadangan serta idea yang telah dikemukakan.

Abstract:
The Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) is an Islamic organisation legally established in 1972. From 1971 until now, ABIM is very concern to international issues, especially the Israeli-Palestinian issue. This article discusses the influence and impact of ABIM in fighting for the liberation of Palestine (1971-2020). ABIM has always called on those responsible for Palestinian independence and the freedom of its people from the grip of Israel. Although various peace negotiations have been held between Israel and Palestine internationally, concrete solutions have not been reached. The objective to be achieved is to analyze ABIM’s involvement in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The methodology used is primary source research in the National Archives of Malaysia and the ABIM Archive. Apart from that, an interview with the President of ABIM, Mr. Muhammad Faisal Abdul Aziz was also held. The results of the study found that ABIM is consistent and active in fighting for this issue. This proves that the voice of NGOs can influence and impact decisions at the national and international levels such as the United Nations (UN). The volume of voice that is always displayed by ABIM is able to give awareness to the leaders and the people of Malaysia that this issue is not just a religious issue but this issue is a universal issue involving humanitarian values. ABIM has held press conferences, sent memorandum, held demonstrations, peaceful rallies, boycotts of American-Israeli goods and set up a Palestinian Aid Fund to raise the issue. ABIM's official paper, 'Risalah' also played a role in disseminating current Palestinian issues by publishing articles from original sources on the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and developments in Palestine, especially in the 1970s. This is because resources at the time were very limited and Western media published biased and untrue news.
