Abstract:
Starting from the conceptual distinction between ruin and rubble, the article investigates and categorizes the recurring forms of residuality in Fabio Pusterla’s work in verse, tracing the essential coordinates of a poetics of the residue and of a “theory of the rest”. In fact, the natural landscape, devoid of any composure or coherence in its presentation, is in solidarity with the anthropic residue, for which the waste and debris of human passage are the signals and fragments that the eye tirelessly captures and enhances, predisposing them to be inhabited by language. At the heart of Pusterla’s poetic gesture it therefore seems possible to identify a practice of language that knows how to keep the relationship with time open, and therefore with the narrative, projecting a tale of origins, with its ancestral nobility, towards a looming future.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Rubble, debris, wreckage belong to the “intimate fabric” and “the very instinct of poetry,” wrote Zanzotto in his Montalian essays. This essay investigates and reflects on such a motivic constellation, nearly a new topos, in Italian poetry of the second twentieth century and the extreme contemporary. In the first part, starting from some critical pages by Sereni and Zanzotto himself, some meanings and functions of rubble are fixed in advance, including, trivially and in extreme synthesis, between a sense of the end and the destroyed and generative signs of new value grammars, between “scatology” and “eschatology” to quote Zanzotto again. The central part of the essay identifies a number of categories within which to place and distinguish the repertorized material. These include the category of brownfields or ‘third landscapes’; that of landfills; or that of places traumatized by catastrophic natural events such as earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. The essay’s conclusions return to the meaning and senses of rubble, waste loci, ruins and so on. The poets cited are Maurizio Cucchi, Fabio Pusterla, Antonella Anedda, Franco Buffoni, Italo Testa, Giuliano Mesa, Vincenzo Frungillo, Cosimo Ortesta, Flavio Santi, Sara Ventroni, Giovanna Frene, Francesca Matteoni, Giuliano Tabacco, Andrea Raos, and Maria Grazia Calandrone.

Abstract:
Alkaline electrolysis is an industrially mature and promising method for the production of green hydrogen at scale [1]. Alkaline electrolysers are typically characterized by low investment costs compared to other electrolysis technologies [2]. Despite being used for industrial applications for almost 100 years, the efficiency of alkaline systems can still be significantly improved. To this end, rigorous testing and optimisation of cell components is paramount. Here, we report a multi-functional alkaline electrolysis setup, designed to facilitate testing of various cell components, including electrodes, diaphragms, and catalyst. The setup is a further development of the setup originally reported by Ju et al. [3]. Importantly, the setup allows cell components to be tested under industrially relevant conditions: temperatures up to 80°C, concentrated KOH, pressures of up to 30 barg. The setup features KOH recirculation, a drying column and gas analysers for estimating the purity of produced hydrogen and oxygen. The measurement setup further allows the use of different cell configurations, enabling comparative analysis and the identification of optimal combinations of cell components for specific use-cases. Example experimental results collected at various test conditions, including the EU harmonized test conditions for low-temperature electrolysis cells [4], are reported. References: Mueller-Langer, E. Abstract:

With these intentions, the project seeks to place the landscape, understood as a particular unit actively constructed by a subject-observer, at the centre of an investigation designed to show how the gaze contributes to the construction of the poetic text. Given the historical, subjective and artificial nature of landscape, the study aims to identify its particular characteristics within a culturally circumscribed horizon from a formal, temporal and spatial point of view, by examining a corpus of significant works belonging to the Italian poetic production of the second half of the twentieth century. Rosati, Vittorio.
