Abstract:
The information expressed in humanities datasets is inextricably tied to a wider discursive environment that is irreducible to complete formal representation. Humanities scholars must wrestle with this fact when they attempt to publish or consume structured data. The practice of “nanopublication,” which originated in the e-science domain, offers a way to maintain the connection between formal representations of humanities data and its discursive basis. In this paper we describe nanopublication, its potential applicability to the humanities, and our experience curating humanities nanopublications in the PeriodO period gazetteer.

The hypothesis that authors from highly ranked institutions may publish significantly more articles than their colleagues from lesser ranked institutions was evaluated. An examination of a mainstream psychology journal for a 2-yr. period indicated that this may not necessarily be so and that authors from middle-ranked institutions may indeed be those who publish a great deal.

Abstract:
The number of Arabic papyri from the first two Islamic centuries that have been preserved is relatively small. Papyri from the third century A.H. are far more numerous and constitute the bulk of most collections. In this paper I publish an Arabic legal document from A.H. 77 (A.D. 707), which is in the Michaelides collection of papyri at Cambridge University Library. It is one of the earliest extant Arabic legal papyri. The document is a quittance (barā’a) drawn up by a certain Sa‘īd ibn Qays al-Dallālī to certify that Jamīla, the freedwoman of ’Umm Hunayda, is cleared of obligation to him after the payment of a sum of seven dīnārs. This sum was delivered as payment for a portion of a house.

Abstract:
State censorship in Australia has been rare, controversial and short-lived. There was almost none in the liberal nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, the two world wars, the Great Depression and the new age of terrorism led to more determined, if comparatively temporary, attempts to censor publications that advocated sedition or violence. Moral censorship of obscenity was also rare in the nineteenth century, but enjoyed an ‘heroic’ period following the arrival of a new realism in literature and the age of lurid comic books. The internet has made such censorship almost totally ineffective. Blaspheming the Christian religion is no longer treated as a punishable offence, although attacking Islam may still sometimes be deemed actionable in law. The advent of multiculturalism has encouraged legislation to restrict free speech deemed to be ‘hate speech’, but its application has been episodic, unpopular and ineffective. The contest between writers demanding freedom and censors demanding standards is unending. But at the moment, the balance favours writers.

Abstract:
“If you want to make an impact among your colleagues, look especially at the journals that they’re reading and publishing in” Dr H Goldman, Chief Editor of Polar Research Writing medical articles is highly competitive. Many hours are expended conducting research, and even more hours writing and rewriting the manuscript. Furthermore, countless hours are spent chasing references and performing complex statistics. However, when it comes to understanding the target audience, are authors guilty of not investing as much effort to get maximum impact from the fruits of their labour? The issue of where to send your manuscript has never been more critical. Most clinicians receive daily invitations via email to submit work to journals that sound legitimate and valid. But are they? Although many journals are reputable, many others are not. This stems partly from the sharp decline in paper journals and the parallel exponential rise in digital journals. With intense pressure to publish, it is hard not to be seduced by online journal marketing ploys. For instance, one researcher used www.randomtextgenerator.com to make up an article and submitted it to 37 open access journals over a period of 2 weeks. 1 At least 17 accepted his work and agreed to publish his article once a $500 ‘processing fee’ had been paid. Investing time and effort in ‘where to publish’ is time well spent. It is an exercise in understanding the target audience that will benefit most from the publication. Doing this at an early stage in the publishing process saves valuable time and resources. More importantly, this increases the chances of acceptance. So what are the tips for checking journal legitimacy and avoiding the trap of predatory journals? > Check the journal website and look through a recent issue. > Is the journal indexed? Check journal databases like PubMed Central® or the Web of Science®. Is there a link on the journal web pages to the spoof www.medline.com ? > Check the name of the editor-in-chief and associated board members. > Check the registered address on Google Maps®. > Have your colleagues and friends read, reviewed or published in the journal? > Is the journal identified in Jeffrey Beall’s list of potential predatory journals? 2 Finally, a word about blogs and social media. As the internet revolutionises the whole business of publishing and makes information easy to access, are blogs and self-publishing a way forward for scholarly publications? Such open narratives encourage comments and dialogue with readers, leading to an open and transparent form of peer review. This process itself leads to change, revision and expansion. Is this the future? In this article, Anna Sharman, who launched Cofactor in 2014, provides readers with some useful insights into where to publish. Anna did a PhD degree in biology and then entered the world of journal publishing. She worked for publishers such as BMJ, Public Library of Science, BioMed Central and Nature Publishing Group. Her latest venture, Cofactor, is a company that offers editing advice and training for scientific researchers to help them publish their work more effectively. I have been searching for relevant information related to the start of journalistic education in our country. Information I had in 2005 al- lowed me to publish a first volume, where I have given plenty of space to education. However, a subject such as the formation of journalists deserves more interest. Abstract:
This paper presents the implementation of an agent-based architecture suitable for the coordination of power electronic converters in stand-alone microgrids. To this end, a publish-subscribe agent architecture was utilized as a distributed microgrid control platform. Over a distributed hash table (DHT) searching overlay, the publish-subscribe architecture was identified based on a numerical analysis as a scalable agent-based technology for the distributed real-time coordination of power converters in microgrids. The developed framework was set up to deploy power-sharing distributed optimization algorithms while keeping a deterministic time period of a few tens of milliseconds for a system with tens of converters and when multiple events might happen concurrently. Several agents participate in supervisory control to regulate optimum power-sharing for the converters. To test the design, a notional shipboard system, including several converters, was used as a case study. Results of implementing the agent-based publish-subscribe control system using the Java Agent Development Framework (JADE) are presented.

Abstract:
Research into archaeological traces of the Mongol Invasion has long discovered that hoards consisting of coins, jewellery and other valuables come to light in various parts of the country, and the coins they contain connect these findings to the 1241–1242 attack. In other places, iron objects, predominantly agricultural tools were hidden, and these are usually discovered by accident and not by planned archaeological excavations. This is why the finding that came to light from the Árpád period Abaújvár fort of the count (comes parochialis) in July 2019 is so special. The coins, jewellery, and other unique objects – such as the textile remains woven with golden threads –, as well as the importance of the fort in this period, make it worthwhile to publish the first results briefly, even though the processing of the finds is still ongoing.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to highlight the evidence for Achaemenid settlement in eastern Turkey and to publish the sherds from two sites, Altıntepe (Cimin Tepe I, CAB Site 112) and Cimin Tepe II (CAB Site 113) collected by C. A. Burney during his survey in 1955 and now housed in the British Institute of Archaeology at Ankara. An Achaemenid date for Altıntepe level II has often been proposed (e.g. Burney and Lang 1971, 158–9; Forbes 1983, 59) and the site is often now included in studies of the Achaemenid Empire without comment (e.g. Tuplin 1987, 201 n. 118 and map I p. 241; Cook 1983, 198), but the large amount of evidence for extensive and wealthy Achaemenid settlement at the closely related sites of Altıntepe and Cimin Tepe II has not been considered in detail.Three recent papers concerned with the administration of the Achaemenid Empire in general (Tuplin 1987) and Achaemenid garrisons (Tuplin 1987 B and 1988) have highlighted the sparsity of sites in eastern Anatolia which are known to have been occupied in the Persian period. For the preceding era of the Median Empire, which stretched as far westwards as the Halys river (the modern Kızılırmak), archaeological evidence has been so thin that the very existence of a Median Empire has been seriously, if not convincingly, questioned (SancisiWeerdenburg 1988).

Full text
Abstract:
Readers and critics alike, for the past sixty years, generally agree that Baldwin is a major African-American writer. What they do not agree on is why. Because of his artistic and intellectual complexity, Baldwin’s work resists easy categorization and Baldwin scholarship, consequently, spans the critical horizon. This essay provides an overview of the three major periods of Baldwin scholarship. 1963–73 is a period that begins with the publication of The Fire Next Time and sees Baldwin grace the cover of Time magazine. This period ends with Time declaring Baldwin too passé to publish an interview with him and with critics questioning his relevance. The second period, 1974–87, finds critics attempting to rehabilitate Baldwin’s reputation and work, especially as scholars begin to codify the African-American literary canon in anthologies and American universities. Finally, scholarship in the period after Baldwin’s death takes the opportunity to challenge common assumptions and silences surrounding Baldwin’s work. Armed with the methodologies of cultural studies and the critical insights of queer theory, critics set the stage for the current Baldwin renaissance.

This paper investigates co-authorshipratios for twelve premier non-U.S. edited accounting and finance journals overthe fifteen year period from 1995 to 2009.Our results suggest that for the years considered, the aggregate co-authorshipratio for non-U.S. premier accounting journals has increased significantly. Also our findings indicate that the financial accounting specialization has thehighest level of co-authorship. Additionally, the co-authorship ratio for Top25 non-U.S. universities is not significantly different than that of lowerranked non-U.S. academic institutions. We also observe that co-authorship among non-U.S. researchers is lowerthan that of U.S. researchers. The findings of this study indicate that trendsof increasing co-authorship among non-U.S. premier accounting journals areconsistent with those of U.S. premier accounting journals.

Abstract:
The Short periods of Delta Scuti Stars allow the observational detection of the period changes expected from the stellar evolution within several tens years. For about 30 years we are keeping this topic as a small systematic observational program with our 60 cm telescope. Here we publish the period variation of 18 stars in table I. The data of 28 And are taken from R. Garrido et al. in AAp 144 (1983), 211; the period variation rate of 4 CVn is given by M. Breger. Both of them are low amplitude variables. From these data we find out that both the population I and II variables can have period increasing and decreasing. The rate is between 2 × 10−6 to 8 × 10−8 days/year. Due to the period range of about 0.2 days, the time scale of period variation in one direction is limited within about 2 million to 200 million years. Usually we take the mass of this A to F type variables as 1.5 to 2.0 solar mass, so the main sequence life time is about several billion years. If all these A to F type main sequence stars will be variable in some period of its life time the possibility for a star to show Delta Scuti type variation is about hundredth, especially for the high amplitude type. Up to now we have found some 50 high amplitude variables with V < 10.5, and the total number of A3 to F5 with V < 10.5 is about 1.2 × 105, so the incidence of high amplitude variables is about 0.04%.

We worked with a universe made up of 6025 articles obtained. Bibliometric indicators were calculated through Publish or Perish v. 7.31, VOSwiever, pubreminer and the same analytical software from the chosen databases. The results indicate a total of 209952 citations, with an average of 20995; 39 and 12273 citations per year, citations per article and citations per author respectively. The study by Perfetti and Stafura, entitled Word Knowledge in a Theory of Reading Comprehension, stands out. The United States is the main producer of scientific evidence on reading comprehension and the type of scientific production that stands out the most are original articles. These results show that the production of scientific articles on reading comprehension is abundant and is experiencing growth that demonstrates the importance that world researchers give to this topic.

Abstract:
Abstract The microhistory of the Amsterdam-based Sebastiaan Petzold († 1704) demonstrates that in the Early Modern Period booksellers without a network were hardly able to manage professionally in the Republic of Letters. Petzold relied especially on patronage from Socinianist circles. The Socinian theologian Samuel Crellius (1660-1747) saw to it that Petzold was able to publish three highly controversial Socinian works, including the notorious Platonisme devoilé (1700). Petzold was also introduced to some prominent English booksellers thanks to Crell, which provided him with access to the international market. Another patron was the Berlin court preacher Daniel Ernst Jablonski (1660-1741), who recommended Petzold to Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. In Amsterdam the literary society ‘In Magnis Voluisse Sat Est’ commissioned Petzold to publish the complete works of Lucretius, an Epicurean work which was a favourite in anti-clerical circles. In spite of this support, in the end Petzold was besieged by creditors, instead of authors thronging at his door.

Abstract:
Little is known about open access publishing in educational technology journals that employ a hybrid model which charges authors only if they wish to publish via gold open access. In this study we sought to address this gap in the scholarly understanding of open access publishing in hybrid journals that publish research into the intersection of education and technology. We analysed three categories of article access types: gold, green, and limited access, and collected data on their prevalence in the seven-year period from 2010-2017 across 29 journals. Data was gathered from Scopus, Unpaywall, Sherpa RoMEO, and via manual searches of the journal websites, resulting in a dataset comprising the metadata of 8,479 articles. Our findings highlight that most research remains locked behind paywalls, that open access publishing through legal means is a minority activity for the scholars involved, and that the complexity and costs of legal open access publishing in these journals may be inhibiting the accessibility of research to readers.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to identify how cooperation between research groups on strategy in Brazil occurs. Cooperation is defined as the share of scientific publications among group members. Thus, was considered 474 publications, in the period 2005 to 2011, from researchers and students of 21 scientific research groups. Based on the social networks analysis, the networks formed by research groups and by 57 other research institutions were characterized. The results indicate the existence of sparse networks, with a predominance of weak ties and center-periphery structure type. The central groups are the ones who publish more with international institutions, which seems to indicate that these groups obtain both benefits associated with the central position, and benefits for the connection to peripheral actors. The central groups are those who publish the most, suggesting that connectivity tends to potentially increase the scientific production on strategy, a phenomenon that has been observed in others areas of knowledge.

Big urban excavation campaigns are not easy to publish. The quantity of primary data is overwhelming and, even when only the essentials are published, a hard choice has to be made. By period? The issues are here explored in reviewing a batch of publications from Chester, in the series, ‘Excavations at Chester: Grosvenor Museum Archaeological Excavation and Survey Reports’.

This issue marks the beginning of the twentieth year of publication of the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education. As a parent of two teenagers, I fully appreciate the significance of this milestone. Over the first two decades the journal has undergone a number of transformations. Departments have been added, and a variety of cosmetic changes have been instituted. What has remained constant throughout the period bas been the commitment to publish high quality research articles in mathematics education.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the trends in accounting-education publications and the influence of journal rankings for authors from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. Design/methodology/approach – The authors included the publications in ten accounting-education journals for the 20-year period from 1993 to 2012. Findings – The data provide insights into the perceptions of accounting-education journals by authors from four countries. The authors found that, while the use of Accounting Education as a publication outlet for accounting authors from Australia and the UK was relatively stable, the use of Accounting Education as a publication outlet increased (decreased) for the accounting authors from New Zealand (Canada). The authors also found that, while coauthoring by the accounting authors from Australia and the UK increased slightly, coauthoring by the accounting authors from Canada and New Zealand increased during the 20-year period. Research limitations/implications – The data suggests a tendency by the authors from these four countries to publish their accounting-education research in journals that had been ranked as a top accounting journal. Originality/value – This paper is the first paper to consider trends in international accounting-education publications. The data in this research can be used by accounting faculty wishing to assess which journals their colleagues publish in most frequently.

Abstract:
Although historians have paid much attention to American perceptions of Russia, few have looked at Russian views of the United States, particularly in the imperial period. This paper surveys editorial cartoons in Novoe Vremia, one of the few Russian newspapers to publish illustrations as commentary on international affairs. Novoe Vremia published cartoons depicting the United States in the years between 1898 and 1912 in the late imperial period, that is, beginning with the War of 1898 and ending with the abrogation of the u.s.-Russia commercial treaty. This paper finds evidence for the argument that Russian views of American empire and race relations persisted into the Soviet period. However, the Russian Revolution swept away the strong anti-Semitic overtones in many portrayals of the United States, at least in editorial cartoons.

The internationality of Al Jami'ah, Studia Islamika and Journal of Indonesian Islam were analyzed based on country distribution of editors, country distribution of authors, international authors collaboration and international citation. A total of 240 articles were analyzed: 86 from al-Jami'ah, 74 from Studia Islamika, and 80 from JII during the period of 2012-2016. For country distribution editors and authors, the three journals use editors from different countries which internationally represent Asia, Europe, America and Australia, where most of the editors come from Indonesia. Therefore, the contribution of global scholarship still has not reached 50% of each edition. Based on international collaboration, Al Jami'ah published a little number of articles from collaboration by Indonesian and overseas authors, while Studia Islamika and Journal of Indonesian Islam had no contribution from international collaboration. International citation for all three journals are in balance during five years. They have not been much cited by authors who publish their writing globally. However, the citation may increase if international journals that cited them publish their latest edition in the future.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to elucidate the peculiarities of the functioning of Ukrainian News/“Ukrainski Visti” in the American period through the prism of publications (1978-2000). In order to realize the goal, the forms of subscription organization were investigated, measures aimed at strengthening the material base of the magazine, a considerable array of publications of that time were analyzed (their systematic index was prepared), and the role of the publication in shaping the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian diaspora in the USA and other countries during the mentioned period were outlined. The main method of research was to analyze the materials of different genres found in the pages of the newspaper as well as a historical method that allows you to study objects in chronological order. In particular, during this task a valuable fact about the changes that occurred in the edition after its relocation to the USA was obtained, the peculiarities of newspaper’s functioning in new conditions were clarified, all addresses of editors office were found out, the articles related to activities of the Publishing Union and the I. Bahrianyi Foundation which were engaged in the publication of the newspaper were examined; a number of editorial steps, aimed primarily at strengthening the financial base of the edition and its subscribers acquisition were studied. It is found out, that relocation of the editors office from Germany to the USA encouraged the Ukrainian emigration participation, which was united behind the newspaper in scientific, educational, artistic, economic and public-political activities on the American-Canadian territory, promoted inten-sification of Naddniprianska emigration in terms of All-Ukrainian liberation movement, helped to stabilize the financial base of the newspaper, that, in the end, allowed to publish it during the next twenty two years.

Abstract:
Introduction: Authors choose scholarly journals not only to advance their careers but also to interact with their respective scholarly communities. Objective: To describe the journals where family and community physicians in Brazil publish their work. Methods: In late 2018, we compiled a nationwide list of family and community physicians, and downloaded their curricula from the Lattes Platform. We extracted data on their complete journal articles from their curricula, completed these data with queries to CrossRef, VHL/LILACS, and PubMed/MEDLINE, and obtained data on the journals with queries to the United States NLM Catalog. Results: We found 3558 unique articles, published by 1011 journals. The most productive journal was RBMFC (Revista Brasileira de Medicina de Família e Comunidade), which published 347 (9.8%) of these articles. About one in six articles were published in journals on family practice or primary health care. The proportion of articles published in journals in Brazil decreased during the study period from 83.8% to 58.4%. Conclusion: As in other countries, family and community physicians in Brazil usually publish in the national journal dedicated to their scholarly community, while also publishing extensively in journals from other disciplines. The increasing proportion of articles published in journals outside Brazil suggests primary care research in Brazil is increasingly of international relevance.

Abstract:
Introduction: For the development of cyberphysical systems, new technologies and data transfer protocols are being developed, in order to reduce the energy costs of communication devices. One of the modern approaches to data transmission in cyberphysical systems is the publish-subscribe model, which is subject to a denial-of-service attack. Purpose: Development of a model for detecting a DoS attack implemented at the application level of publish-subscribe networks based on the analysis of their traffic using machine learning methods. Results: A model is developed for detecting a DoS attack, operating with three classifiers depending on the message type: connection, subscription, and publication. This approach makes it possible to identify the source of an attack. That can be a network node, a particular device, or a user account. A multi-layer perceptron, the random forest algorithm, and a support vector machine of various configurations were considered as classifiers. Training and test data sets were generated for the proposed feature vector. The classification quality was evaluated by calculating the F1 score, the Matthews correlation coefficient, and accuracy. The multilayer perceptron model and the support vector machine with a polynomial kernel and SMO optimization method showed the best values of all metrics. However, in the case of the support vector machine, a slight decrease in the prediction quality was detected when the width of the traffic analysis window was close to the longest period of sending legitimate messages from the training data set. Practical relevance: The results of the research can be used in the development of intrusion detection features for cyberphysical systems using the publish-subscribe model, or other systems based on the same approach

The terminology of the wide spectrum of hip deformities seen during the neonatal, infantile and adult life period remains controversial, mainly due to the indiscriminate use of the terms dysplasia, subluxation, congenital hip disease, developmental hip disease, congenital dislocation, etc. This has a serious implication on the anticipation of clinical outcomes, complications and comparison of different reconstructive techniques when these patients are treated with total hip arthroplasty in adulthood. Journals, specialising in this field, should publish homogeneous series (type of the disease, reconstruction technique, implants) in order to clarify arguments and anticipate clinical outcomes.

Abstract:
Although English is the dominant language of scholarly publication, many multilingual scholars continue to publish in other languages while they also publish in English. A large body of research documents how these multilingual scholars negotiate writing in English for publication. We know less, however, about the implications of such negotiations for other languages that scholars work in. We wanted to investigate trends in writing conventions in language other than English during a period when multilingual publication patterns have been common. Specifically, we examined changes in rhetorical patterns in the introduction sections of the 1994 and the 2014 volumes of three Norwegian-language journals in three different disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Our findings show that while certain features of our material might be interpreted as the result of a non-English discourse community adopting dominant Anglo-American models, the overall picture is more complex. Our study indicates that we need more research that examines cross-linguistic textual practices that focus on English and any other languages that scholars may work in. We also consider the possible pedagogical implications of such a focus.

Abstract:
These two lectures by Leo Strauss, “What Can We Learn from Political Theory?” delivered in July 1942, and “The Re-education of Axis Countries Concerning the Jews,” delivered November 7, 1943, include not only Strauss's most elaborate statement about the relation of political philosophy and political practice (in the first), but what may well be his fullest written public statements about matters of contemporary foreign policy. Both lectures obviously were carefully considered, composed, and corrected, but Strauss did not attempt to publish either. He may have had second thoughts about some of the arguments he advanced in these lectures, or he may simply have chosen to concentrate his literary efforts elsewhere. Other lectures he prepared during this period but did not publish himself have since been published: “The Living Issues of German Postwar Philosophy,” delivered April 1940 at Syracuse University, and “Reason and Revelation,” delivered January 1948 at Hartford Theological Seminary, both in Heinrich Meier, Leo Strauss and the Theologico-Political Problem (Cambridge University Press, 2006); “German Nihilism,” delivered to the New School's General Seminar February 26, 1941, is in Interpretation 26:3 (Spring 1999).

Abstract:
Despite the apparent commitment of large Spanish corporations to the SDGs, information about their documented contribution to the 2030 Agenda is still scarce. This article aims to explore this gap by investigating the extent to which Spanish listed companies have been reporting on the SDGs since the approval of the 2030 Agenda. The paper contributes to the country-level analysis of SDG reporting by performing a longitudinal analysis over the 4-year period encompassing 2016 to 2019. It contributes to management science by assessing Corporate Sustainability performance through adherence to the SDGs and testing what the facilitators of SDG reporting have been during the first 4 years since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda. Findings reveal a low commitment of Spanish listed companies to sustainability reporting. Nevertheless, they also uncover how those companies that publish non-financial reports are increasingly reporting on the SDGs. Additionally, there is also a growing tendency among CEOs to mention the SDGs in their letters to stakeholders. Furthermore, a positive link is established between the adoption of GRI reporting standards or being a signatory of the UN Global Compact and SDG reporting. Similarly, those companies that publish Integrated Reports are more likely to consider the SDGs in their disclosures than those that publish Standalone Reports or Annual Reports. Nonetheless, there is a growing tendency to gravitate from producing Integrated Reports to producing Annual Reports. Owing to the breadth of these results and their relevance to academics and practitioners alike, this study can help build future evidence-based accountability literature and policy on the SDGs at the Spanish and European levels.

Abstract:
The mounds of Jemdet Nasr, 100 km south of Baghdad, were subjected to two seasons of excavations in 1926–28. These campaigns yielded a tremendous assemblage of artefacts which have never received the full publication to which they are undoubtedly entitled. In order to rectify this shortcoming a programme of publishing all known items from the 1920s seasons is now well underway, with museum work completed on the Jemdet Nasr collections in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and the Field Museum, Chicago. It is intended to publish the 1920s material as Volume 1 of the seriesJemdet Nasr Excavations, which will continue with volumes concerning our own recent work at the site. Pending completion of study of Jemdet Nasr items in the Iraq Museum, Baghdad, it has been decided to present this preliminary survey as an indication of the wealth of material retrieved during those two seasons in 1926 and 1928, and in order to address questions that have arisen in the subsequent decades. The main issues of debate have been whether or not it is justifiable to speak of a Jemdet Nasr period, distinct from the Late Uruk and Early Dynastic periods, and a concern to specify items of material culture, particularly pottery, which may assist in the identification of such a period in both temporal and geographical terms. Recent and future excavations at the site, and elsewhere, are likely to provide some of the pointers, but it is perhaps too often the case that excavations of the early part of this century are dismissed as below modern standards and therefore not worthy of detailed study. It is hoped that this article can show the value of re-analysing old excavations from a contemporary viewpoint, particularly by drawing upon comparative material from a range of other excavated sites in order to place the Jemdet Nasr assemblage within a wider Mesopotamian context.

This study investigated contributions to the peer-reviewed library and information science (LIS) journal literature by U.S. academic librarian (USAL) authors over a ten-year period (2003–2012). The results were compared to those of two previous five-year studies that covered the time periods of 1993–1997 and 1998–2002 to examine longitudinal trends. For USAL authors as a group, publication productivity, the proportion of peer-reviewed articles contributed to the LIS literature, and sole-authorship declined. Among USALs who did publish, productivity patterns remained similar over twenty years, with a slight increase in the percentage of USAL authors who published three or more articles in five years. The top twenty high-publication libraries from 2003 to 2012 were from public research universities, unlike two earlier studies that found private university libraries among the top twenty.

Quarterly results are compared with the forecasts of analysts who publish their forecasts for quarterly results at Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg. Relationship is confirmed statistically, where stock returns in the period is the dependent variable, independent variables are three – return of the corresponding market index, excess impact – measure of surprise in quarterly results in comparison with analysts’ estimates and VIX index. Linear regression is used for testing of return and GARCH model is used for testing of volatility, there is focus on adaptation of actual volatility to the long-term average volatility after accidental shock.

Abstract:
This paper updates Hall's (1987, Econometric Theory 3, 171–194; 1990, Econometric Theory 6, 1–16) rankings of academic institutions by publication activity in econometrics over the period 1989–1995. Fifteen leading international journals that publish econometrics articles are used to provide the database. The rankings are based on standardized page counts of articles published in these journals over the stated period. Separate rankings are provided for theoretical contributions in econometrics and for all contributions in econometrics. An “Econometricians' Hall of Fame” is developed listing the top 100 individual producers of theoretical econometrics and all contributions in econometrics research in the 15 journals considered. Separate rankings are also provided both for institutions and for individuals according to all econometrics publication activity in Econometrica, Econometric Theory, and Journal of Econometrics.
