Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to explore the psychological aspects of corruption in public administration through a combination of methods such as the non-systematic review, a semi-structured interview, a survey questionnaire, and observations of the anti-corruption court hearings. The study employed a case research design using the exploratory research strategy. It relied on a combination of data collection methods. The study was designed as a flow of three basic stages such as identification of psychological factors of corruption, validation of factors, and assessment of relative importance of every factor using the Triangular Assessment Method. It provided first-hand evidence and cases for the course in “Psychological, Behavioural and Economic Triggers of Corruption.” The IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0.0.1. Software was used to process the yielded data. The study found that civil servants’ ambitions to get rich quick, their low self-esteem, psychological dependencies, community-accepted image, sense of impunity were the major psychological aspects pushing the people to corruption in Ukraine. It was also found that the sense of impunity could be considered to be the primary psychological impact factor stimulating corruption actions by the civil servants, specifically. The self-esteem could be regarded as a second important psychological factor of corruption in public administration, which is related to the persons’ vision of their role in the community. The third important factor was ambitions driven by ‘easy money’ and status. The last two factors such as psychological dependencies, the community-accepted image were judged to be the least important ones. Further in-depth research is needed to identify the gender difference in the psychological aspects of corruption in public administration.

Abstract:
Psychological aspects like anxiety, injuries’ effects, professional psychological support (PPS), psychological training (PT), or athlete-coach relationships could influence shooters’ performance. This study tried to determine which aspects were critical from the shooters’ perspective. Eight elite shooters were interviewed. After using qualitative methods, the following categories were obtained: importance of PT; anxiety and competition relationship; mental preparation; PPS; stress during training; injuries’ psychological effects and coach’s influence. PT is important for shooter’s performance, being PPS a key aspect. Moreover, anxiety levels are critical, raising during the pre-competitive period and oscillating during competition. Furthermore, shooters considered more effective the stress placed on training by the coach than by themselves. Accordingly, the coach plays a key role. Surprisingly, injuries did not affect shooters psychologically, nor in their competitive performance. We conclude that the combination of PPS, shooter competitive experience and the optimal coach’s work can promote a greater performance in Olympic shooting.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to identify psychological aspects of preventing corruption in the professional activities of public servants by analyzing the main motives of systemic corruption behavior and socio-cultural aspects of their formation. It is revealed that research on the motives of corruption behavior is associated with several important factors: 1) the stereotypes of understanding of the corruption existing in the Ukrainian society; 2) social factors of corruption behavior - historical, economic, political, cultural, collective-psychological and individual psychological; 3) socio-cultural aspects of the formation of anticorruption consciousness. There are several motives of corruption behavior: game, social, monetary etc. This is due to the existence of the most common frames of mass consciousness, which are recorded in the Ukrainian society regarding the perception of corruption. The determining factors of the occurrence of corruption behavior in the professional activities of public servants are the psychological dependencies of the person, which leads to the use of the concept of psychological research.Corruptive behavior is defined as deviant one and causes the perception of the responsibilities of the public service as an opportunity to obtain satisfaction from the prospect of receiving unlawful benefits and privileges for violating official moral and ethical requirements (the formation of dependence). The types of psychological dependencies of public servants (on power, money, etc.) are distinguished. It is shown that a painful manifestation of such a person’s psychological dependency is kleptomania. In order to prevent corruption in the professional activities of public servants, it is proposed to apply scientifically substantiated psychological and diagnostic support, in particular special methods for determining the propensity for kleptomania and corruption behavior.

Abstract:
This study attempts to determine whether the prolonged stay of people in an unfavorable environment, in our case the oil and gas (OG) region, affects their psychophysical health, makes them vulnerable, prone to psychosomatic diseases, creates psychological problems, or leads to internal conflicts. Participants (typically healthy people) were asked to answer questions based on the multidimensional fatigue inventory (MFI-20). The scale reflects the following five main dimensions of fatigue: General fatigue, physical fatigue, reduced activity, mental fatigue, and reduced motivation. Three of them, namely general fatigue, physical fatigue, and mental fatigue, are of particular importance for this work. The study revealed the psychological profiles of the population of the study region and concluded that the OG region poses a significant risk to public health with all the ensuing consequences.

Abstract:
Criminal investigation in India is premised on the adversarial system, which provides for investigative fact finding with complete police discretion in fact finding. Investigation to find out only inculpatory facts deviates from the requirement of fairness in executive procedure. The purpose of investigation is to find out the truth. Exculpatory facts are a part of that truth. Constraints placed upon the freedom of the arrestee during investigative incarceration curtail the ability to establish exculpatory facts. Fair investigative procedure ought to provide for statutory norms for bringing to the fore exculpatory facts. Incarceration-related duress leads at times to false confessions. This paper explores the legal, psychological, and sociological aspects of investigative incarceration, and the practical implications and limitations of processual justice in the adversarial investigative process with special reference to India. A survey of civilian experience of policing is made to understand the approach of the public towards policing as a service.

Not a single organization is immune to crisis. Negligent handling of regulations and standards, misprotection of personal information, mistakes in care and treatment, financial resources frauds, non-compliance with operational and technical processes, or hygiene scandals are just some of the issues that can turn into a crisis. In addition to the universal risks, the emotionally charged topic of healthcare, combined with the importance of healthcare facilities as trustworthy institutions, turns hospital mistakes into events of high news value. This article provides tips and ideas for developing practical communication activities in times of crisis, including answers to the question of what a medical institution can do to be better prepared when a crisis occurs and how to reduce physical, psychological, and emotional stress on the staff and patients.

Abstract:
This study aims to identify the consequences of lockdowns due to the coronavirus on female academics in Jordan. An online survey was distributed via social media and filled in by 131 female participants from different academic ranks in public and private universities. The study investigated four main variables: the consequences of lockdown on the social aspect, psychological aspect, and economic aspect, and also on how time was spent during the lockdown, and the correlation between these variables and other social and personal factors (such as the marital status, etc.). It was found that female academics are significantly affected on both levels: the economic aspect and the activities spent during the lockdown, followed by the psychological and social aspects. The results show that marital status played a significant role, as single female academics are generally affected more than married ones. Economically, it is found that the sector in which the participant works in has a significant impact. Female academics working in the private sector are affected more than those working in the public sector. In addition, the academic degree the participant holds plays a key role. Academics with master’s degrees are affected economically and psychologically, and even in terms of spending time during the lockdown.

<p>The article studies various forms of legal consciousness deformations in its connection with the positive legal liability and legal awareness. The presented research material justifies the somewhat schematic approach to the study of subjective aspects within the legal liability. The authors identify the dialectical contradictions between legal liability and formal legitimate behavior; legal liability and irresponsibility with legal nihilism and idealism. It is concluded that such phenomena as idealism and misunderstood legal regulation objectives characterize the distorted subjects&rsquo; legal awareness with its external formally legitimate behavior and internal irresponsibility. It has been also substantiated that legal idealism, excessive institutional law-making and public relations regulation form the internal responsibility due to the bureaucratization and false objectives achievement in legal regulation.</p>

The problem of infertility in the 21st century has become extremely important for public health in various countries, affecting the birth rate of the population and the number of humanity. Infertility, affecting approximately 8–12% of the world’s population, is associated with factors such as unwillingness to conceive, the age of the female partner, the number of diseases that affect fertility, etc. Questions of the influence of psychological problems, often regarded as the causes of idiopathic infertility, such as stress, depression, sleep disturbances, are of particular interest to researchers. A review of works on the potential impact of stress and depression on reproductive function showed not only a definite relationship, but also the difficulty of determining causal relationships due to the lack of a single assessment tool. P u r p o s e o f t h e s t u d y : to review foreign scientific literature containing information on the role of psychological factors in the formation of reproductive health disorders of the population, including infertility. M a t e r i a l s a n d m e t h o d s : bibliographic, information and analytical methods and the method of comparative analysis were used. R e s u l t s . Mental health issues are often viewed as the causes of female and male infertility. To improve the quality of life of patients with infertility, it is necessary to address the issues of a causal relationship between psychological health and infertility, psychological health when using IVF and ways to solve the problem of psychologically induced infertility. The risk of developing depression and the relationship of a higher degree of anxiety with clinical pregnancy after IVF are shown. Due to the inaccurate data on the relationship between psychological stress and a decrease in male reproductive function, psychological stress is considered in studies as a risk factor for erectile function and ejaculation in men against the background of a high level of stressful life events, compared with women. Findings. Research has proven the effectiveness of psychological support and cognitive-behavioral group therapy in fertility treatment programs, including interventions accompanying IVF. Studies of psychological ways of correcting depression and positive IVF results have shown the importance of programs for influencing the mental state of couples undergoing treatment for infertility reasons.

Abstract:
AbstractThe authors describe Italian public health intervention planning for civil nuclear emergencies. With the exception of a few special aspects of prophylaxis and therapy, public health intervention in the case of nuclear emergencies are basically the same as those planned for “conventional emergencies,” however, a key role in nuclear emergencies could be played by the psychological aspect. Two different situations must be considered: 1) nuclear accidents involving workers only; and 2) nuclear accidents involving population as well. Differences in public health intervention required to address these two situations are discussed, both in terms of public health personnel involved, and of public health means and structures that should be available.

Abstract:
Despite ongoing local and international peace efforts, the Jews, Arabs, and other residents of Israel and the Palestinian territories (i.e., the West Bank and Gaza) have endured decades of political, social, and physical upheaval, with periodic eruptions of violence. It has been theorized that the psychological impact of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict extends beyond the bounds of psychiatric disorders such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Exposure to the ongoing conflict may lead to changes in the way Israelis and Palestinians think, feel, and act; while these changes may not meet the thresholds of PTSD or depression, they nonetheless could have a strong public health impact. It is unclear whether existing studies have found associations between exposure to the conflict and nonclinical psychological outcomes. We conducted a systematic review to synthesize the empirical research on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict and its psychological consequences. As a whole, the body of literature we reviewed suggests that exposure to regional political conflict and violence may have detrimental effects on psychological well-being and that these effects likely extend beyond the psychiatric disorders and symptoms most commonly studied. We found evidence that exposure to the conflict informs not only the way Israelis and Palestinians think, feel, and act but also their attitudes toward different religious and ethnic groups and their degree of support for peace or war. We also found that Palestinians may be at particularly high risk of experiencing psychological distress as a result of the conflict, though more research is needed to determine the extent to which this is due to socioeconomic stress. Our review suggests the need for more studies on the nonclinical psychological aspects of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict as well as for longitudinal studies on the impact of the conflict on both Israelis and Palestinians.

Abstract:
Adolescent drug addiction in Ukraine is a serious problem that requires proper attention and evaluation from modern society. Timely public reaction to this issue determines the methods of its solution and ways to prevent adolescent drug addiction in Ukraine in the future. The urgency of the subject matter is determined by the danger of drug addiction among Ukrainian adolescents and the lack of attention paid by parents to the study of this problem and the lack of proper attention to this issue in most Ukrainian schools. Prospects for research in this area are determined by the need to identify the main social and psychological aspects that motivate modern Ukrainian adolescents to use drugs. This will allow to redirect the situation and create conditions to prevent a situation in society where drug use by Ukrainian adolescents would be possible. The purpose of the study is to identify the dominant psychological and social factors that motivate adolescents to start using drugs. Materials and methods. The main research method is the method of analysis, which was used to comprehensively consider and describe the factors that push young people to use drugs, despite the obvious threat to their health and life. Authors consider issues of social and psychological aspects of adolescent drug addiction, problems of relations in society and families where adolescents begin to use drugs. The study covers the types of family relations and the nature of intra-family relations, in which adolescents start using drugs. Conclusion. The main social and psychological factors that push modern young people to take drugs are identified. In the course of this study, conclusions were drawn about the significant role of existing problems in modern Ukrainian families, where children begin to use drugs early. Preventive conversations in schools, other educational institutions and at home are effective tools in the fight against adolescent drug addiction. Competitions in various sports among teenagers and mass cross-country races also have pronounced influence. The practical value of the study in this area is to identify and state opportunities to create methods to combat adolescent drug addiction and the complete elimination of the harmful effects of drugs on modern Ukrainian schoolchildren

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of analyzing trends in the formation of public consciousness and digital culture of students in the system of continuous teacher education. The conclusions are based on the fact that symbolic interactionism (information theory), socio-psychological centrality are based on the level of importance of certain ideas or self-conceit, the degree of interactivity in the implementation of acquired communicative and role models of student behavior. Moderate support for the theories of identity and symbolic interactionism was revealed, since the identity of the "other" was not much in the focus of research analysis. Identification aspects are related to the relationship between concepts, and interactive commitment is related to the psychological centrality of the student's personality, but not to the identification of the "other". Self-esteem is a Central element of the psychological centrality of the individual, if it is important for her. It is shown that identities can be stable and unstable, since they are associated with a person's social environment. Instability is associated with the student's desire to make social, religious, and cultural changes in their own lives, that is, with the desire to master and join new cultural values. The level of a person's self-esteem depends on the identification combination of socio-psychological (external and internal) aspects and conditions of their existence.

Abstract:
This was a questionnaire study designed to address the problem of professional burnout among elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in a large metropolitan public school system. Subjects were 939 teachers in the San Diego Unified School District who responded to a new questionnaire that assessed various aspects of teachers and their jobs including demographic variables, teaching climate, job stress, and dissatisfaction, psychological effects of burnout, and related physical symptoms. The questionnaires were distributed and collected by the San Diego Teachers Association. Results indicated that there is wide variation in the degree of burnout teachers experience. No differences were found in susceptibility to burnout due to demographic variables such as age, sex, grade level, subject taught, or years of experience. Certain characteristics of teaching climate associated with high and low levels of burnout were identified. Those specific stressors that most affected teachers and those that were most highly associated with burnout were delineated. Additional analyses clarified the psychological and physical effects of burnout for the sample of teachers studied. Burnout as a useful construct for studying individuals in large organizations was discussed and suggestions were offered for future research possibilities.

Abstract:
The Journal of Biosocial Science regularly publishes papers addressing the social and cultural aspects of disease, sickness and well-being. Most of these papers attempt to understand the prevalence and distribution of disease and sickness within and between populations as well as local responses to biomedical interventions and public health policy more generally. They fall broadly within the remit of human ecology; and they embrace a ‘factorial’ model of disease in which social and cultural factors are deemed to be just one of a number of factors to be considered alongside a range of other factors. These include biological features of the infecting organism; nutritional factors; environmental factors; psychological factors; and genetic factors influencing susceptibility to disease at an individual and population level.

Abstract:
Group psychology is a crucial factor influencing the occurrence and development of network public opinions in universities. Based on the "Theory of Crowds", this study selects the "Tianjin University's Lockdown Management" as a typical case in the phenomenon of "Management Through Zhihu". In this way, the research starts from four stages -- focus, formation, climax and dissolution of public opinions, returns to look at the psychological motivation of the subjects, analyzes the role of group psychological factors such as blindly following the crowd, the law not punishing numerous offenders, leader guidance and emotional contagion in promoting the formation of university network public opinion crisis behind the phenomenon of "Management Through Zhihu". Based on that, this study proposes that to strengthen the guidance of university network public opinions in the new era, four specific aspects need to be further highlighted: mastering the characteristics of group psychological communication is the basis; giving full play to the role of public opinion leaders is the key; innovative network public opinion guidance mode is the guarantee; and emphasizing the education of network public opinion subjects is the fundamental solution.
