Abstract:
The primary need of people to dress has changed as time passed, because different high-tech fibers, yarns, fabrics, finishing applications, trends and society influences have completely changed. Welfare and comfort properties have become decisive components to make a product appreciated and successful. This paper presents the detailed explanation of clothing comfort, its subgroups and also the Physiological status and psychological status of the people. Clothing also known as clothes, apparel and attire is items worn on the body. Clothing is typically made of fabrics or textiles but over time has included garments made from animal skin or other thin layers of materials put together. The wearing of comfort clothing is mostly restricted to human beings and is a feature of all human societies. Comfort or being comfortable is a sense of physical or psychological ease, often characterized as a lack of hardship. Persons who are lacking in comfort are uncomfortable, or experiencing discomfort. A degree of psychological comfort can be achieved by recreating experiences that are associated with pleasant. Persons who are surrounded with things that provide psychological comfort may be described as being "in their comfort zone". Because of the personal nature of positive associations, psychological comfort is highly subjective. As the year goes the word comfort is been used in all areas such as food, work, people and clothing. Thermal comfort is the condition of mind that expresses satisfaction with the thermal environment and is assessed by subjective evaluation. The human body will release excess heat into the environment, so the body can continue to operate. The heat transfer is proportional to temperature difference. Maintaining this standard of thermal comfort for occupants is one of the important goals of HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) design engineers. And in designing of clothes is the most important goal of a fashion designer. There are six primary factors that directly affect thermal comfort that can be grouped in two categories: personal factors - because they are characteristics of the occupants - and environmental factors - which are conditions of the thermal environment. The former are metabolic rate and clothing level, the latter are air temperature, mean radiant temperature, air speed and humidity. Even if all these factors may vary with time, standards usually refer to a steady state to study thermal comfort, just allowing limited temperature variations. The study was conducted to know the responses about comfort clothing in Physiological status and psychological status acceptance. Since there are large variations from person to person in terms of physiological and psychological satisfaction, it is hard to find an optimal temperature for everyone in a ABSTRACT 62 International Journal for Modern Trends in Science and Technology given space. Survey is been collected to define conditions that will be found comfortable for a specified percentage of occupants, being comfortable is a sense of physical or psychological factors. Understanding clothing comfort, Need and consumer trends basic and universal need of consumers in clothing is comfort and they look for good feel and comfort when they buy clothing and other textile materials. Clothing is very important in our life that we use every day to obtain physiological and psychological comfort and also to ensure physical conditions around our body suitable for survival. Therefore, it is extremely important for the survival of human beings and improvement of the quality of our life to have good understanding of the fundamentals of clothing comfort. From the viewpoint of the manufacturers of clothing and textile materials, understanding of clothing comfort has substantial financial implications in the effort to satisfy the needs and wants of consumers in order to obtain sustainable competitive advantages in modern consumer markets. Consumer always expects some additional functional qualities from the clothes they purchase. Clothing is manufactured in a wide range of thermal, tactile and physical properties to meet consumer needs. Depending on the nee. and expectations of the consumer's, the clothing and textile manufacturers provide wide range of options to enhance human comfort. For example, clothing made from blends and natural fibres are preferred to man-made fibres for all comfort attributes except smoothness or woven fabric are preferred to knits for smoothness, thickness and openness. To understand the basics of clothing comfort, sensory tools as well as the equipment’s to evaluate the comfort related characteristics of textile materials have been developed. Large number of studies has been carried out and many equipment are developed in the textile and clothing area such as mechanical, thermal and surface testing, so as to evaluate the related physical properties, but the body between measurement and the consumer feeling of comfort are still difficult to establish. Consumers want everything from the clothing, i.e. it should look good, feel good, perform well, said like their clothing to match with their chosen attitudes, roles and images. Consumers are now allowing touch, smell, intuition, and emotion to influence their decision on clothing selection more than their aesthetic sense. Asa result, great importance is being attributed to the wearing experience and thus comfort is being reinforced as a key parameter in clothing. It is also true that requirements of consumers on comfort changes with products and situations. Clearly, understanding and satisfying the needs of consumer towards clothing products are crucial for the long-term survival and growth of clothing and textile demand. Understanding and enhancement of clothing comfort is definitely one of the important issues.

Abstract:
Purpose The Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) program is known to improve team and clinical performance, but the relationship to psychological stress has not been clarified. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate team performance, clinical performance and psychological stress simultaneously in a simulation-based training combined with or without the TeamSTEPPS program. Design/methodology/approach This randomized, controlled, prospective pilot study was performed to reveal TeamSTEPPS impact on psychological stress. The course included an emergency care training course, the TeamSTEPPS program, and a scenario simulation. Ten medical student teams were randomly allocated two groups: a TeamSTEPPS group and a non-TeamSTEPPS group. Team performance, clinical performance and psychological stress were evaluated simultaneously in the course; i.e., questionnaire evaluation and an observational evaluation for team performance; an assessor’s evaluation and a simulator’s evaluation for clinical performance. Autonomic nervous activity, represented by salivary amylase levels and heart rate variability, were measured as psychological stress indicators. Findings Team performance and clinical performance were significantly better in the TeamSTEPPS group, while psychological stress did not differ between the groups. Originality/value This is the first study to examine the relationship between TeamSTEPPS and psychological stress. Although only preliminary conclusions can be drawn from this small-scale study, results suggest that the TeamSTEPPS program improved team and clinical performance without increasing psychological stress.

Abstract:
For many, college is a period of transition, marked with acute stress, threats to success, and decreases in self-efficacy. For certain groups of students, the risk of these poor outcomes is elevated. In this study, 348 students from a large residential university in the western United States were surveyed to understand the role of psychological flexibility and inflexibility on self-efficacy and the potential moderating impact of year in college and underrepresented racial minority (URM) status. Results indicated that students who are psychologically flexible reported greater college self-efficacy, whereas students who are psychologically inflexible reported lower college self-efficacy. The impact of psychological inflexibility on self-efficacy was moderated by URM status and year in school; psychological inflexibility had a stronger impact on URM students’ self-efficacy than nonminority students, and psychological inflexibility had a greater effect on college students starting college as opposed to students who had been enrolled for multiple years.

Abstract:
Background Rhinoplasty is the most common operation performed by our facial plastic surgery unit. Recognition of patients with psychological problems which may result in an unfavourable post-operative outcome is essential. The objective of this study was to evaluate the psychological status of patients seeking rhinoplasty, compared with the general population. Methods We prospectively collected the data from patients who requested rhinoplasty in Srinagarind hospital, Thailand and controls. We used the general health questionnaire-28 (GHQ-28) for psychological problems detection. Results We included a total of 196 participants, 98 in study group and 98 in control group. The study group has a 5.5 times (95% CI 1.25 to 24.17, P = 0.01) higher risk for poor mental status more than control group. Conclusions The patients seeking rhinoplasty group were more likely to have psychological problems when compared with the control group. Surgeons should be aware of the patient's psychological status before performing the operation.

Abstract:
Competing theories of status allocation posit divergent conceptual foundations upon which human status hierarchies are built. We argue that the three prominent theories of status allocation—competence-based models, conflict-based models, and dual-pathway models—can be distinguished by the importance that they place on four key affordance dimensions: benefit-generation ability, benefit-generation willingness, cost-infliction ability, and cost-infliction willingness. In the current study, we test competing theoretical predictions about the relative centrality of each affordance dimension to clarify the foundations of human status allocation. We examined the extent to which American raters’ (n= 515) perceptions of the benefit-generation and cost-infliction affordances of 240 personal characteristics predict the status impacts of those same personal characteristics as determined by separate groups of raters (n= 2,751) across 14 nations. Benefit-generation and cost-infliction affordances were both positively associated with status allocation at the zero-order level. However, the unique effects of benefit-generation affordances explained most of the variance in status allocation when competing with cost-infliction affordances, whereas cost-infliction affordances were weak or null predictors. This finding suggests that inflicting costs without generating benefits does not reliably increase status in the minds of others among established human groups around the world. Overall, the findings bolster competence-based theories of status allocation but offer little support for conflict-based and dual-pathway models.

Abstract:
The purpose of the present study was to begin development of a psychological profile for environmentally ill patients. Existing psychiatric labels are unable to encompass these patients. Test scores were drawn from a pool of 89 patients whose environmental exposures were verified by the presence of toxins in the blood serum. A Mental Status Exam, a Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised screen, and the Profile of Mood States were administered. Results indicate a primary pattern which is significantly different from test norms consisting of fatigue, reduced mental functioning, and a lack of psychotic or personality disorder indicators. The reported symptoms of environmentally ill patients were objectively verified by current psychological test instruments. The need for a new diagnostic category for people who have been poisoned by environmental toxins is discussed.

Rooney, C. "Polyphenol intake, dietary patterns and psychological status." Thesis, Queen's University Belfast, 2014. http://ethos.bl.uk/OrderDetails.do?uin=uk.bl.ethos.680508.

Full text
Abstract:
Increasing evidence has suggested that dietary consumption may have the potential to influence mental health. However, few experimental studies have examined the effect of polyphenol-rich foods on psychological health. Furthermore, minimal studies exist on consumer attitudes towards polyphenol-rich foods. Thus, the main aims of this thesis were to investigate the effect of polyphenol-rich foods (FV, berries and dark chocolate) on psychological health, and to examine the behaviours, attitudes and knowledge consumers have with regards to the consumption of these foods. Firstly, results from a systematic review suggested that current evidence surrounding fruit and vegetables (FV) and psychological well-being is inconclusive. The review highlighted the need for future randomised controlled trials to investigate the relationship further. Secondly, a randomised controlled trial (PPhIT) showed mixed findings with regards to the effect of an eight week polyphenol-rich dietary pattern (FV, berries and dark chocolate) on psychological health. Improvements were observed for certain outcomes, including depressed mood and mental health (quality of life), but not for others (e.g. self-esteem and body-image). The dietary intervention led to significant increases in nutritional biomarkers, indicating good participant compliance. Overall, participants showed favourable attitudes towards the polyphenol-rich diet. Whilst a number of barriers towards the study diet foods were detected at baseline, the intervention significantly reduced some of these (e.g. ease, willingness, awareness). Similarly, a second ReT (n=30 adults), highlighted various barriers and facilitators towards FV consumption. However, in contrast to PPhIT, the four week intervention did not significantly modify these. This study also detected a lack of knowledge regarding what constitutes a portion of FV. The inconsistent findings from this thesis surrounding the effect of polyphenol-rich foods on psychological health suggest further research is warranted. Future research on the capacity for dietary interventions to reduce barriers towards polyphenol-rich foods may also be of value.

Martindale, Jane Harriet. "Disease severity and psychological status in ankylosing spondylitis." Thesis, University of Central Lancashire, 2008. http://clok.uclan.ac.uk/7689/.

Full text
Abstract:
The findings of this study provide an original contribution to knowledge in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and have important implications for eiThancing clinical practice. The results demonstrate the existence and significance of associations between disease and psychological status in AS, and also demonstrate the value of using longitudinal, repeated measures approach to study this long-term condition. This study is also the first to demonstrate the value of using a mixed methods approach to investigate this issue in AS. Although existing literature on prospective longitudinal cohort studies in AS is very limited (other than for studies which involve clinical trials of medications and other interventions), this project demonstrates the feasibility of sustaining such a study over an 18-month period and of recruiting large numbers of participants to both the quantitative and qualitative phases. The results are based upon a hospital-ascertained cohort of 89 adults. Both the quantitative and qualitative phases produced important new findings: 1. In this cohort, mean BASMI, BASFI and BASDAI scores remained consistent throughout the 18-month period. People with BASDAI scores higher than 4 at the beginning of the study continued to score higher than 4 throughout. 2. BASMI, BASFI and BASDAI scores correlated significantly with anxiety, depression and internality scores, but not with levels of belief in chance or powerful others, throughout the study. This demonstrates that AS disease status is closely linked to some, but not all, psychological measures. 3. There was no effect of co-existent psoriasis or iritis on either disease or psychological status, but BASMI and BASFI (but not BASDAI) scores were significantly related to age. 4. Factors which appear to influence the associations between disease and psychological status are highly complex, often differing between individuals, and usually determined by other co-morbidities and life circumstances besides AS. These results suggest that the major implication for clinical practice would be the development of a more comprehensive and integrated assessment framework for AS set within the context of a biopsychosocial model. Envisaged would be a major programme of work to critically assess and validate potential components of such a framework with the aim of determining efficacy, feasibility and acceptability of such an approach.

Fowler, Gillian. "Relationships between mental health, socioeconomic status and subjective social status in first-year students at four South African universities." Master's thesis, University of Cape Town, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/11427/14329.

Abstract:
Includes bibliographical references (leaves 92-109).
Background and Objective: First-year university students face many challenges during the transition to university. Some of these relate to their background and socio-demographic characteristics and others have to do with the characteristics of the universities they attend. South African first-year students may face even more challenges adjusting to university, which are linked to the country's Apartheid history. This study aimed to explore relationships between mental health, socioeconomic status and subjective social status in first-year students at four South African universities. In particular, the aims were to explore the role of subjective social status and resilience in predicting the adjustment, mental health and general health of first year university students. Method: Participants in the study (n=336) were South African first-year students who were enrolled in first year psychology courses at four universities. Two of the universities were historically advantaged, and two were historically disadvantaged. Data collection took the form an online survey as well as the distribution of printed questionnaires. A demographic questionnaire was used in addition to questionnaires, which measured students' quality of adjustment, mental health, general health, subjective social status, alcohol use and illicit substance use and resilience (Connor- Davidson Resiliency Scale). Results: A series of hierarchical regression analyses indicated that place of residence was an significant predictor of the quality of their adjustment to university (R 2 =.11). Results of the multiple regression analyses also indicated that resilience was a significant predictor of mental health (R 2 = .22) and a significant predictor of general health (R2 = .11) in the sample of first-year students. Conclusion: These findings highlight the importance resilience can play in predicting students' mental and general health during the transition to university. It also highlights the fact that universities should take the opportunity to provide adequate support programmes and create social networks to make the transition to university easier for students who may be at risk for poor adjustment and poor mental health and general health. In particular university residences, which provide a living environment that encourages academic and social interaction and provide a supportive atmosphere, can make the transition to university smoother for first years. 4

Abstract:
Thesis (MA)--University of Stellenbosch, 2005.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This study investigated the association between functional status in fibromyalgia patients and helplessness, self-efficacy, social support and cognitive appraisal. Patients' assessments of their pain and global severity of illness (as rated on a visual analog scale) as well as a physician's rating of global severity, tended to correlate with helplessness and pain-related self-statements. Patients' perceived change in difficulty and satisfaction regarding activities of daily living (measured by means of the Modified Health Assessment Questionnaire) correlated negatively with self-efficacy beliefs and relationship strain, while patients' subjective assessment of their global improvement was related to self-efficacy. The objective rating by a physician of tender points correlated with catastrophizing self-statements and opportunity for confiding.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine if psychological type, economic status, and minority classification had an effect on the pass/fail rates of vocational nursing students. The rationale for conducting this study was based on the need for the institution to maintain program viability and successfully retain students. The personality types of vocational nursing students were measured using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Measures of economic status and minority classification were obtained through subject self-report. Students enrolled in a vocational nursing program at a small North Texas community college were studied. The Chi-square Test of Independence with a 2 x 2 design was employed. Findings indicated that there was a statistically significant relationship between the pass/fail rates of thinkers versus feelers in the vocational nursing classroom. Findings did not indicate a statistically significant relationship between the pass/fail rates of extraverts versus introverts; sensers versus intuitives; or judgers versus perceivers in the vocational nursing classroom. Findings also suggested that there were no significant relationships between the pass/fail rates of individuals with poverty versus non-poverty economic statuses, nor between individuals with minority versus non-minority classifications. Based on this study, vocational nursing students psychologically typed as thinkers, may have lower passing rates in the vocational nursing classroom setting.

Abstract:
In contexts of protracted violent conflict, school environments play a key role in children’s psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing. Research by the REALISE education project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) provides a better understanding of how violent conflict penetrates schools; the relationship between school staff, students, parents, and the local community; and the role of children’s social entourage. It identifies key considerations for education projects operating in these contexts and how they can best support the wellbeing of children, including those who are extremely isolated or experience marginalisation on the basis of gender or minority status.

Zimmermann, Ivan, Maria Gonçalves, Loraine Dal-Ri, and Lais Morais. Systematic review on the utility values of health states in patients with herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia. INPLASY - International Platform of Registered Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocols, July 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.37766/inplasy2022.7.0125.

Full text
Abstract:
Review question / Objective: The study aims to synthesize, through a review of existing scientific literature, the Health State Utility Value (HSUV) of patients with herpes zoster or postherpetic neuralgia. Condition being studied: Herpes zoster is caused by the reactivation of a primary varicella zoster virus infection. Postherpetic neuralgia is the most common complication, which is defined as pain in a dermal distribution that is maintained for at least 90 days after the rash. The pain caused by postherpetic neuralgia is often debilitating and affects physical functioning, psychological and well-being. Thus, the postherpetic neuralgia has a profound negative impact on functional status and quality of life, and generally results in substantial utilization of health services. An increase in the incidence of post-herpetic neuralgia and herpes zoster is expected, due to the increase in life expectancy, therefore, the result of this review may be important for public policy decisions.

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: We provide a protocol to evaluate the efficacy of integrated Shoutai Pill and Western medicine to update the evaluation for the best available and security treatment for recurrent pregnancy loss(RPL). Condition being studied: Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a distinct disorder defined by two or more consecutive pregnancy failures before 20 gestational weeks infertile couples. The incidence of this disease accounts for about 1%-5% of women of reproductive age and seriously affects their physical and psychological health. At present, the known etiology of this disease mainly includes abnormal anatomic structures, genetic abnormality, endocrine disorders, prethrombotic status, abnormal immune function, infection, etc. Excluding the above factors, approximately 40-50% of RPL remain unexplained, known as unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss (URPL). At present, the main therapeutic methods of RPL are surgical therapy, preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), hormone therapy, anti-infection therapy, anticoagulation, and immunoregulatory therapy, etc. However, there is no effective treatment has been identified for URPL. Therefore, we still need to investigate effective treatments to reduce pregnancy losses and maintain successful pregnancy preservation in these patients.

The aim of the research is to identify the elements of the psycholinguistic image of the main antagonist Hela in the superhero film Thor: Ragnarok based on the Marvel Comics and directed by Taika Waititi (2017). The task consists of two stages, at the first of which I identify the psychological characteristics of the character to determine to which of the archetypes Hela belongs. As the basis, I take the classification of film archetypes by V. Schmidt. At the second stage, I distinguish the speech peculiarities of the character that reflect her psychological image.

Abstract:
The national system of education has always been a subject of scientific discussions in the pedagogical paradigm. It should be noted that this system is multi-vector special processes and factors created by the state to implement the social mission of education in the society. Education as a constituent phenomenon includes many areas of work: educational process, scientific and scientific-technical activities, psychological and psychological-pedagogical counselling, financial and economic work and more. All these processes are united not only by the attitude to education as a system, but also to the process of governance in general. Therefore, the definition of "management of education" in various processes plays a particularly important role.

The relevant scientific article is devoted to the theoretical and empirical analysis result of conducting a psychodiagnostic study on an innovative computer complex HC-psychotest. of the features of the implementation of augmented reality technologies in the construct of traditional psychological and pedagogical support aimed at the development of emotional intelligence of the future specialist. The interdisciplinary approach was used while carrying out the research work at the expense of the general fund of the state budget: “Adaptive system for individualization and personalization of professional training of future specialists in the conditions of blended learning”. A comprehensive study of the implementation of traditional psychological-pedagogical and innovative augmented reality technologies was conducted in the framework of scientific cooperation of STEAM-Laboratory, Laboratory of Psychophysiological Research and Laboratory of Psychology of Health in Bogdan Khmelnitsky Melitopol State Pedagogical University. The theoretical analysis considers the structural model of emotional intelligence of the future specialist of socionomic professions, which is represented by two structural components: intrapersonal construct of emotional intelligence and interpersonal construct of emotional intelligence. Each component mediates the inherent emotional intelligence of interpretive, regulatory, adaptive, stress-protective and activating functions. The algorithm of the empirical block of research is presented by two stages: ascertaining and forming research. According to the results of the statement, low indicators were found on most scales, reflecting the general level of emotional intelligence development of future specialists, actualizing the need to find and implement effective measures for the development of emotional intelligence components in modern higher education and taking into account information development and digitalization. As part of the formative stage of the research implementation, a comprehensive program “Development of emotional intelligence of future professionals” was tested, which integrated traditional psychological and pedagogical technologies and innovative augmented reality technologies. This program is designed for 24 hours, 6 thematic classes of 4 hours. According to the results of a comprehensive ascertaining and shaping research, the effectiveness of the influence of augmented reality technologies on the general index of emotional intelligence is proved. The step-by-step model of integration of augmented reality components influencing the ability to analyze, understand and regulate emotional states into a complex program of emotional intelligence development is demonstrated. According to the results of the formative study, there is a dominance of high indicators of the following components: intrapersonal (50%), interpersonal (53.3%). Thus, we can say that intrapersonal and interpersonal emotional intelligence together involve the actualization of various cognitive processes and skills, and are related to each other.
