Abstract:
Os Ensaios em psicanálise e literatura evocam, pelo estilo, a estética e o espírito do pensamento em ato e buscam a um só tempo uma maneira de escrever que não se converta ao que critica. O autor, no primeiro capítulo, toma de empréstimo a personagem de um conto do escritor Jorge Luis Borges para problematizar a memória na contemporaneidade. No capítulo seguinte, faz uma autópsia sobre as motivações da escrita estimulada pela leitura. E no último capítulo, inspirado em Roland Barthes, Gaston Bachelard, Eduardo Galeano e na obra As Cidades Invisíveis, de Italo Calvino, resgata dos capítulos anteriores emblemas e questões abordadas de forma indireta e as transforma em crônica, poemas, axioma e narrativas ficcionais. A unidade e a diversidade interpenetram-se ao longo das páginas, e o leitor ou leitora é quem fará os elos e os incorporará à sua visão de mundo.
Essays on psychoanalysis and literature evoke the aesthetics and the spirit of the writer's thought process while simultaneously aiming at keeping a safe distance from the object of study. In the first chapter, the author borrows from a character in one of Jorge Luis Borges' tales to frame the problem of memory in present times. In the second chapter, he dissects the motivations for writing based on reading stimulus. In the last chapter, inspired by Roland Barthes, Gaston Bachelard, Eduardo Galeano, and Italo Calvino's The Invisible Cities, the author revisits issues and questions directly and indirectly discussed in previous chapters and transforms them into poems, axioms, and fictional narrative. Unity and diversity intertwine along the following pages, but it is the reader who will link them and incorporate them into his or her view of the world.

Why did the German author Jean Paul Richter (1763 ‒1825) choose the isle of Isola Bella in Lago Maggiore as the locale for the first chapters of his novel Titan? He had never been to Italy and had known this place only from travel guides and etchings. Moreover, this completely artificially modelled island, a terraced garden in the Italian style, could not suit his taste which clearly tended to the more recent English style of gardening. In this article the point is made that he chose the place for its name which contains the personal name Isabella. To prove this the psychoanalytical method as developed by Freud and Lacan is employed, starting from the assumption that the poet’s choice of his names is largely dominated by subconscious motives.

Abstract:
Die Arbeit untersucht die Formen des biographischen Umgangs mit der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus in Berufsbiographien von PsychoanalytikerInnen, die vor dem 01.01.1937 geboren wurden und ihre psychoanalytische Ausbildung im frühen Nachkriegsdeutschland begannen. Dafür wurden 23 berufsbiographisch fokussierte narrative Interviews mit Angehörigen psychoanalytischer Fachgesellschaften geführt und mittels der dokumentarischen Methode ausgewertet. Es zeigte sich, dass der Zeit des NS in den Berufsbiographien eine große subjektive Bedeutung zugewiesen wird. Wichtige Etappen der beruflichen Formung, wie die Berufsfindung oder die Lehranalyse werden mit dieser Zeit in Zusammenhang gesetzt. Es lassen sich zwei Typen des biographischen Umgangs erkennen, wobei der eine sich als persönliches „Opfer“ des NS beschreibt und über diese Leidensgeschichte den Weg in die Psychoanalyse fand. Während der Lehranalyse konnten diese subjektiven Beeinflussungen jedoch meist nicht thematisiert werden. Der andere Typ beschreibt eine nachteilige „inhaltlich-strukturelle“ Beeinflussung der eigenen Ausbildung, die in den Veränderungen der Psychoanalyse während des NS begründet sei. Gemeinsam ist ihnen, dass die Psychoanalyse in einer defensiven Haltung gegenüber dem NS dargestellt wird und Veränderungen während dieser Zeit als heteronom produziert begriffen werden. Es wird in der Arbeit nachgezeichnet, welche Diskurse um die Geschichte der deutschen Psychoanalyse in den verschiedenen Etappen der historischen Aufarbeitung prägend waren. Dabei wird deutlich, dass die Interviewten die verallgemeinernden Diskurse der ersten Aufarbeitungsetappe reproduzieren um ihre psychoanalytische Identität zu stabilisieren. Es wird diskutiert, welche Bedeutung diese Ergebnisse für die weitere Entwicklung der deutschen Psychoanalyse hatten.

Esta dissertação trata da importância do significante em interpretações e construções na clínica psicanalítica, partindo do estudo de fragmentos de casos clínicos de psicanalistas como Freud, Lacan e Jean Allouch. Suas bases concentram-se na maneira como a linguagem é tomada na formulação do inconsciente por Freud e depois por Lacan. No que chama de retorno a Freud, Lacan procura recolocar a psicanálise em seu caminho: o da linguagem, relendo os textos que considera canônicos sobre os sonhos, os atos falhos e os chistes. Para realizar o estudo, segui o caminho de Lacan pela linguística com Saussure, Jakobson, Benveniste, Damourette, Pichon e outros linguistas e gramáticos que foram importantes referências em suas formulações. Procurando apreender o Freud lido por Lacan, que determinou suas reformulações na psicanálise, mais especificamente na direção do tratamento psicanalítico, atravessei também textos de Lacan nos quais ele começa discutindo a fala, no campo da linguagem, voltado para a transmissão da psicanálise e para a oposição entre duas concepções de tratamento e a formação do psicanalista. Em seus últimos seminários, acaba por decidir deixar a linguística para os linguistas e cunhar o termo linguisteria para falar de que linguagem se trata na psicanálise. A partir de fragmentos de casos clínicos, refleti acerca da relevância de determinados significantes, que aparecem durante os tempos do tratamento psicanalítico nos quais a intervenção do analista faz com que o analisante possa abandonar a fixidez de sentido e empreender o caminho de construção de seu fantasma até a sua travessia. Destaquei alguns conceitos utilizados por Freud (Wortfuge- Worfugen-Wortfügung, Wortklang, Entstellung, Konstruktion, Phantasieren, dentre outros), com os quais se quis entender a técnica psicanalítica, a partir das interpretações freudianas de sonhos, chistes e atos falhos, e avançar nas elaborações lacanianas na direção do tratamento, interpretação, ato analítico.
This thesis studies the role of the signifier in interpretations and constructions in psychoanalytical treatments, taking into consideration the analysis of fragments of clinical cases from psychoanalysts like Freud, Lacan and Jean Allouch, among others. This work is based on the way language was taken by Freud and later by Lacan in the formulation of the concept of the unconscious. In Lacan s Retour à Freud he tries to put psychoanalysis back on track, the language path, by rereading the texts he considers canonical about the interpretation of dreams, parapraxis and wits. To accomplish this study, I followed Lacan s steps through linguistics with Saussure, Jakobson, Benveniste, Damourette, Pichon and other linguists and grammarians that were important to his psychoanalytical formulations. In order to understand Freud read by Lacan, which determined his reformulations on psychoanalysis, specifically in regards to treatment, I took into account texts in which Lacan begins to discuss speech, in the field of language, focused on the transmission of psychoanalysis and on the opposition between two existing conceptions of the treatment and the formation of the psychoanalyst. In his last seminars, Lacan ends up deciding to leave linguistics to the linguists and to coin the term linguistery to state which language psychoanalysis deals with. Based on fragments of clinical cases, I reflected on the relevance of certain signifiers that appear on the course of different treatments in which the analysts intervention enabled the analysand to abandon a previously fixed meaning and undertake a new way to the construction of his phantasy up to its crossing. Some of the signifiers used by Freud (Wortfuge-Worfugen- Wortfügung, Wortklang, Entstellung, Konstruktion, Phantasieren, among others) helped me understand the psychoanalytical technics through Freud s interpretations of dreams, wits, parapraxis and move on to lacanian elaborations on psychoanalytical treatment, interpretation, analytical act.

Abstract:
The following dissertation makes a claim that psychoanalysis is a crucial element of our cultural history, contributing to Polish society’s embracement of modernity. The research material focuses chiefly on the oeuvre of interwar Polish society’s one of the most perceptive observers, Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz. The first part of the thesis covers a number of issues. First, it presents the history of psychoanalysis in Polish lands between 1911 and 1939 so as to outline its historical context. Second, it indicates the relations between the Viennese neurologist’s theories and literature in the times of The Career of Nicodemus Dyzma’s author’s literary career, and it also explains the choice of research method. Finally, it attempts to capture the period’s zeitgeist. Specifically, the discussion begins with an analysis of the first of Freud’s works translated into Polish, On psychoanalysis. Its translator, Ludwik Jekels, is important not only for his translation contribution, but also for his therapeutic work which was firstly undertaken in a Sanatorium in Bystra Śląska whose many famous patients included Julian Fałat, Maria Konopnicka, Józef Piłsudski and Gabriela Zapolska. Jekels’ both professional and private life were permeated by interest in the relations between psychoanalysis and literature. He wrote analyses of Shakespeare’s works and was married to a playwright. Apart from Jekels, the first part of the thesis discusses other significant contributors to the development of psychoanalysis in Poland, including Marian Albiński, Stefan Baley, Maurycy Bornsztajn, Stefan Essmanowski, Karol Irzykowski, Helena Ivanka, Ludwika Karpińska, Stefan Marcus, Roman Markuszewicz, Beata Rank, Leopold Wołowicz or Gustaw Bychowski. The latter becomes famous in interwar Poland for writing Psychoanalysis in 1928 and Słowacki and his Soul from 1930, as well as editing the Polish translation of Introduction to Psychoanalysis, and interpreting literature in “Wiadomości Literackie,” a weekly with a focus on society and culture and aspiring to the title of bold and progressive, issued between 1924-1939. Its role in disseminating psychoanalytic theories in Polish interwar period cannot be overestimated. Some of the works published in the magazine, including the serialized novella Killed by Mirrors by Stanisław Baliński or Freud’s Dream Theory, a drama by Antoni Cwojdziński are interpreted here using psychoanalysis and form a significant context for analyzing Dołęga- -Mostowicz’s 1925 debut, a humoresque entitled Mrs Tuńcia’s Dream, through the lens of dream interpretation in the second part of the thesis. The second part of the thesis is largely interpretive and discusses the following works by Mostowicz: Third Sex (1934), The World of Mrs Malinowska (1934), The Career of Nicodemus Dyzma’s (1932), The Quack (1937), Professor Wilczur (1939). The analysis focuses on the concepts of sexual difference, Oedipus complex, libido and narcissism, nature/culture, death drive and melancholia. The use of psychoanalytic method allows for reinterpreting Dołęga’s works and for making a social diagnosis, as popular literature is a perfect vessel for broader, superindividual tendencies that include traditions, fashions, desires and fears of the Polish society and which seem to be reflected in the studied material. The conclusions cover the culture model which was developing the 1930s and which tended to increasingly rely on a phantasmatic function of the father and on subversion of the status of the man-hero. Owing to the growth of psychoanalysis, the problem of gender identity becomes part of social debate over male and female roles. Emancipative values, development of industrialism and the foundation of modern Polish state moves Poland away from national mythology rooted in Romanticism. This implies that Polish culture is regressive, transitioning from a promethean to a narcissist attitude.

O uso das redes sociais vem sendo reportado como uma prática que atravessa o campo profissional, muitas vezes ocasionando prejuízos para seus usuários nesta esfera de suas vidas. Dentre os inúmeros membros que fazem parte delas, estão os psicanalistas, que, em seus pressupostos teóricos e técnicos originais, recebem a instrução para que mantenham partes de suas individualidades reservadas de pacientes, ao mesmo tempo em que fazem parte desta prática social cuja dinâmica de uso envolve uma voluntária exposição de aspectos pessoais em redes de relacionamento on-line. Diante desta realidade, como se posicionam os psicanalistas? Eles publicam dados pessoais? De que tipo? Seus pacientes fazem parte das suas redes de relacionamento on-line? Há alguma consideração clínica no uso que fazem delas? Partindo de tais questionamentos, o presente trabalho procura refletir sobre as questões postas inicialmente, assim como tornar mais clara a dinâmica de uso das redes sociais, por parte destes profissionais. Para alcançar estes objetivos, foram realizadas entrevistas com psicanalistas que usam redes sociais há, no mínimo, três meses. Os dados coletados foram analisados a partir do Método da Explicitação do Discurso Subjacente (MEDS) e os resultados apontaram para um panorama inicial em que três vertentes se destacam: imagem profissional, desejos pessoais e implicações clínicas.
The use of social networks has recently been reported as interfering in the professional field, what may cause some damages for the users in this part of their lifes. Among the users, some are psychoanalysts, who in their s original theorical and technical recomendations, receive instructions to preserve parts of their selves from patients. On the other hand, at the same time, they are part of this social practice, which dynamics includes voluntary revelation of personal information s in on-line social networks. As part of this reality, how do psychoanalysts place theirselves? Do they publish personal informations? Of which kind? Their patients are part of their contacts on social networks? Is there any clinical aspect that is being considerated in their use? From all these questions, the present study intent to discuss these initial issues, as well to clarify how is the dynamics of use of social networks by these professionals. To aim these goals, some interviews were maid with psychoanalysts that use social networks for, at least, tree months. The data were analyzed by the use of MEDS and the results aim at an initial landscape that announces tree dimensions: professional image, personal desires and clinical aspects.

Hinsichtlich der Erfahrungen und Motive der Studierenden, für die eine psychotherapeutische Ausbildung in Frage kommt, der Kandidaten und ergänzend der älteren Analytiker werden die derzeitigen Studien- und Ausbildungsbedingungen hinsichtlich der Bedürfnisse und Erwartungen der Studierenden und Kandidaten kritisch betrachtet und Empfehlungen für eine zukünftige Gestaltung der Studiengänge gegeben, um ausgewogene Informationen für eine Entscheidungsfindung zu gewährleisten. Die Zufriedenheit der Kandidaten mit den derzeitigen Ausbildungsbedingungen im Einzelnen wird ebenfalls diskutiert.

Abstract:
This thesis is the first in-depth biographical study of James Strachey (1887-1967), an early British psychoanalyst who was analysed by Freud in Vienna from 1920-1922. It is based on the wealth of primary source material in the form of letters and documents that James Strachey had carefully conserved, much of which has not been used before. To date, discussions of Strachey have largely been limited to critiques of his translations of Freud. Little consideration has been given to who Strachey was, what role he played in British psychoanalysis before he took on the editorship of The Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud, and to the background factors which shaped his approach to Freud, and yet all these elements are relevant to his translation work and had an impact on how Freud was read and understood in the English-speaking world. The thesis begins with an account of how Strachey’s interest in psychology had developed before he went to Freud, and examines his First World War pacifism and his compulsory war work, and how these experiences may have related to his decision to become a psychoanalyst. It then reconstructs his specialization in psychoanalytic technique, his involvement in the 1941-1945 controversies within British psychoanalysis and his attitude to metapsychology. The account ends in 1945 when there were competing projects to produce the complete works of Freud, none of which had secured funding. This was a natural watershed in Strachey’s life, after which he passed from being a senior analyst with a busy practice in London to becoming an editor and translator.
