Abstract:
This text presents the result of the work of our research group carried out in 2019–2020. The research has focused on the debate on moral responsibility in analytical philosophy in the second half of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. The full results of the study are presented in the collective work “Prolegomena to moral responsibility” (see: Loginov E.V., Gavrilov M.V., Mertsalov A.V., Iunusov A.T. “Prolegomeny k moral’noi otvetstvennosti” [Prolegomena to Moral Responsibility], Finikovyi kompot [Date Palm Compote], 2020, No. 15, pp. 3–100. (In Russian)). Although Prolegomena was conceived primarily as a survey work, it also presents its authors’ own ideas, mostly of a metatheoretical ones. In this paper these ideas are summarised briefly in the following order: a) the problem statement in general terms, b) a discussion of ethics and metaphysics of moral responsibility, and c) a consideration of an important question having to do with the nature of the relation of “appropriateness” of moral reactions.

Abstract:
The presented analysis focuses on the moral dimension of the teaching profession, which encompasses the moral competence of its representatives. This dimension determines, at least to some extent, the quality of services rendered by teachers to other people as part of their professional activity. Thus, the research and analyses undertaken with regard to this area of scientific exploration are of importance for the discipline of educational research. The aim of the paper is an attempt at making an introduction to the manners of understanding the term: teacher’s moral competences. Such competences can be placed among a number of competencies a teacher should display. The article was prepared based on an analysis of the literature dealing with the subject of the research. The analysis was used to explicate the category, which, similarly to the category of competencies as such, has turned out to be defined in an ambiguous way. The researchers of the issue of teachers’ moral competences have ascribed various meanings and scope to this term, and have differed in indicating its significance and importance for the professional activity undertaken. This is conducive neither to an attempt at developing a clear definition of this term nor to defining its constituent elements more precisely. The analysis of this category implies the need for paying closer attention to teachers’ moral competences, both in the theoretical and practical contexts, and to conduct intensified research on these competences, enriching thereby the scientific achievements made so far in the field referring to the moral dimension of the work performed by the representatives of this social and professional category, i.e., teachers.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the influence of semiotic systems typical of various artistic discourses on the poetics of the text (especially the modeling of rhetorical figures) and the creation of textual meanings. The thesis put forward is that the comparative characterization of textual forms makes it possible, on the one hand, to extract universal mechanisms of creating meanings (constitutive features of figures – ‘genetic information’ of poetics), and on the other hand, to examine their many representations that determine the multivariance of poetics. Migrations of figure variants from one discursive environment to another cause a ‘semantic explosion’ and determine the development of discursive forms and, as a result, the dynamics of culture. This issue is shown on the example of the forms of an ellipse in art – the ways of realizing the unsolvable and solvable concealment in literature and film. Literary and cinematic procedures are analyzed, which transform the grammatical and rhetorical ellipse into an artistic strategy.

Abstract:
A philosophical essay under this title faces severe rhetorical challenges. New accounts of the good life regularly and rapidly turn out to be variations of old ones, subject to a predictable range of decisive objections. Attempts to meet those objections with improved accounts regularly and rapidly lead to a familiar impasse — that while a life of contemplation, or epicurean contentment, or stoic indifference, or religious ecstasy, or creative rebellion, or self-actualization, or many another thing might count as a good life, none of them can plausibly be identified with the good life, or the best life. Given the long history of that impasse, it seems futile to offer yet another candidate for the genus “good life” as if that candidate might be new, or philosophically defensible. And given the weariness, irony, and self-deprecation expected of a philosopher in such an impasse, it is difficult for any substantive proposal on this topic to avoid seeming pretentious.

Abstract:
Tradycyjna kultura obszaru Polski znalazła odzwierciedlenie w kilku atlasach polskich i niemieckich.

Abstract:
This article discusses a collection of fifty psalms published as The Poznań Psalter. A Collection of Psalms for Common Singing at Home and in Church (Poznań 2017). As a text genre, the publication represents a song book, which – according to its dictionary definition – is: ‘a collection of songs (solemn or popular) with their lyrics and notes’. The publication can alternatively be classified as a hymnal. The authors of the paraphrased psalter intended to underscore the musical character of the Biblical texts. This musical character is underscored by giving the particular psalms their regular rhythmic pattern, partly supported with a rhyming pattern. As far as the musical layer of the Poznań Psalter is concerned, the authors make a conscious reference to tradition, since the melodic lines are transferred from the Geneva Psalter (1563 edition). The language layer, on the other hand, departs from tradition, since it does not exhibit the historically marked lexical or grammatical structures. Analysing the text of the Poznań Psalter, composed by the Protestant (Reformed Evangelical Church) authors in the context of the Polish tradition of Biblical translation, one can conclude that this tradition retains its vital interdenominational nature, which – as in the case in point – is capable of using the Warsaw Bible and the Millennium Bible as sources of textual adaptation.

Abstract:
The main objective of the following article is to map out the analytical fi eld of transmedia and genre studies. There are at least three reasons for doing so. Firstly, a number of contemporary works of culture transcend the traditional genre distinctions and make use of heterogeneous genres, media and modalities in their semiotic apparatus. Secondly, genres practiced heretofore have been questioned and violated – not only in literary studies but also in the humanities as a whole. Finally, transmediality requires the utilization of methodologies derived from diverse disciplines and fi elds.

Abstract:
This paper highlights the shortcomings of Georges Bataille’s writings in terms of his failure to address white supremacy and blackness by critically engaging and expanding his cosmological metaphor through the figure of the black hole. The sun is a timeless figure in the history of western thought as an epistemological and ontological metaphor. Bataille offers alternative cosmological interpretations whereby luxurious excess and waste aim to transfigure the traditions of metaphysics, ethics, and political economy. This paper confronts Bataille’s cosmologies and heliotropes through an afropessimistic lens whereby blackness proves to be an ontological positionality that is not simply marginal to whiteness, but antagonistic, thus allowing for an expanded critical cosmology that incorporates the figure of the black hole.

When modern man speaks of isolation, he thinks only of closing himself off at home, peace and quiet, lack of contact with his family or going off into the unknown. He does not think of the forced isolation that prevailed among people in wartime. It determined everyday life, changed people’s values and dehumanised them. The worst was the camp isolation, which took people by surprise. No one expected that someone could deprive people of their lives, away from family and friends. Isolation can be divided into sectors: internal and external. With time it is possible to get out of it. A person’s attitude and the presence of other helpful people can help. People in the camp escaped isolation in different ways. The longing for love, the touch of another human being, tenderness and a smile had different faces. One of the themes of camp life was children going to slaughter. They did not realise that they would disappear from the face of the earth together with their parents. Smiling, carefree children were not afraid of anything, they felt no fear or exclusion. International cooperation was the order of the day in many camps. Although the women did not know the language, they used gestures, similar expressions. Each of the women prisoners sensed their fate and therefore needed each other’s help. No matter what country the prisoners came from, no matter what part of Europe, they all fought to survive. For many of them the camp became a home, where relationships proved beneficial. The escape from camp “happiness” was all-day work outside the camp. Prisoners would go out on purpose to do hard work in the fi elds, digging pits, in order not to see what was going on in the camp. The variety of isolation is beyond comparison. It is possible to live in isolation, to have contact with others, but to be well aware that one day normality will return. The people in the camp also had hope, but they knew that this hope could end rather quickly for them — in the crematorium.
