Abstract:
Introduction. The article examines the problem of using authentic media texts in the professional foreign language instruction of students studying international relations. The purpose of the article is to identify the main advantages and controversial aspects of using foreign media texts, to propose a step-by-step algorithm for their analysis, as well as recommendations aimed at neutralizing their impact on students. Materials and Methods. For this study, the following methods were used: analysis of scholarly and theoretical literature and authentic teaching materials, survey and questionnaires, analysis of empirical data and their systematization. The empirical study was conducted over two years. The research sample consisted of university students from nine groups (n = 79) studying advanced German as a second foreign language at MGIMO University of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Results. The article summarizes the experience of studying the process of professionally oriented foreign language teaching, built on the basis of authentic media texts. The advantages of their application are revealed: the texts of foreign language media are available, relevant, and diverse in style and genre characteristics. They are considered as a source of cultural and professional-relevant information. Their implementation has a positive effect on the development of all language skills and types of speech, affects the development of verbal and non-verbal speech, and increases motivation. The negative aspects include the following: foreign texts often have an ideological orientation, consequently, they are able to influence the recipient’s opinion, their consciousness and subconsciousness, manipulate ideas about events and phenomena of the surrounding reality. The proposed algorithm for analyzing the media text includes the following stages: evaluating the mass media, analyzing the subject matter of the text, considering the historical period of its writing, identifying the main realities, hypotheses and argumentation of the author, and ideologized structures. The final stages are comparing the source with texts in a foreign or native language, building a personal position, and mastering lexical and grammatical means of expression. Conclusions. As a result of the study, with the aim of using the advantages and leveling the negative impact, recommendations were proposed and an algorithm for analyzing the media text was developed. The implementation of this algorithm allows students to preserve their cultural identity, and prepare for professional communication.

Abstract:
Culture today is experiencing a state defined by most researchers as “critical”, “threshold”, “moral or spiritual apocalypse”. One of the main problems is the devaluation of spiritual values, which leads to the destruction of the connection between society and academic culture. The multi-channel and all-consuming system of mass communications (media) has begun to play an increasingly decisive role in modern society. As an alternative to spontaneous dissemination of information flows, the concepts of “media culture” and “media art” arise, which makes it possible to combine aesthetic searches with modern media, the best opportunities of which should be used in the field of academic culture dissemination. That is why the issues of artistic enlightenment, professional dissemination of academic culture in the new information space, the focus of spiritual, moral and aesthetic guidelines, as well as the training of potential musical educators within the initial professional stage are so relevant today. The proposed experimental model of children’s musical enlightenment is aimed at teaching the popularization of academic music, disseminating acquired knowledge about music in the context of related arts, on the basis of a unified three-stage educational music enlightening system. The purpose of the presented project is to develop and implement the model on the basis of the existing primary state music education (of preschool, school and post-school professionally-oriented levels) using the achievements of media technologies. The presented model will contribute to the most harmonious development of individual creative abilities of students, the formation of their active life position, and the provision of their primary professional and activity competencies in the field of musical enlightenment, which can help optimize primary art education.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the current problems of educational policy in general and outlines the strategies for training future professionals and trends in competency-based training of future professionals in Ukrainian universities as its component. It is emphasized that the competence approach is the main direction of renewal of vocational education in the modern world, which provides a position in the educational process, which contributes to the experience of a holistic systemic vision of professional activity, systemic actions in it, solving new problems and tasks. Analysis of the works of leading scientists of today shows a significant interest in the problems of formation and development of professional competence in higher education, the application of the competence approach in the formation of future professionals; characteristics of competence in the education of foreign countries, the emergence and formation of a competency approach. The vector of higher education development makes it possible to identify a range of trends that confirm the transformation and allow to predict certain changes and design appropriate actions. Among them, we focus on those that are a direct indicator of changes in the organization and construction and conduct of the educational process in higher education institutions, in particular in universities: the accumulation of knowledge; gender policy; humanitarian knowledge; use of available resources; development of paradigms; development of scientific activity; development of the world ICT market; ethno-national processes; media globalization; development of the socio-cultural situation in society; innovation and investment activities, etc. This, of course, is not a complete list, but it is these positions that define the broad panorama of approaches that characterize modern university education. Сompetence (competency) is a dynamic combination of knowledge, skills, values and personal qualities that describe the learning outcomes of the educational / curriculum and is the basis of the qualification of the graduate. Competencies are considered as the powers given to a person, the range of official (and other) rights and responsibilities. Thus, when talking about the implementation of the competency approach, we must outline the expected / obtained learning outcomes in accordance with the assigned qualifications.

Abstract:
This article addresses the problem of professional training of future psychologists. It is assumed that it is possible to find an optimal correlation between the acquisition of special knowledge and the formation of personal readiness of psychologists for professional activity. As demonstrated in the article, the character of this correlation depends on the use of a specific method of teaching, and more specifically, the conception of teaching oriented towards forming certain personal qualities. For the efficient education of psychologists it is necessary to make a systemic analysis of expected personal changes in the process and as a result of teaching them. In theory we are realizing an analysis of expected personal changes in the process and the result of teaching them in following modern conceptions of teaching: of programmed teaching, of problem-based teaching, of euristic teaching, of developing teaching, of media-education, of interactive teaching, of active social and psychological teaching, of person-oriented teaching, of experiential teaching. In this paper the author analyzes the main principles of resource-oriented teaching. Resource-oriented teaching creates the ground for the optimal combination of the requirements of professional preparation and personal development of psychology students.

Abstract:
In this article, we present a thematic analysis of broadcast and print media representations of YouTube celebrity. Youth-oriented media have capitalised on the phenomenon, placing vloggers alongside actors and pop stars. However, in much adult-oriented mainstream media, YouTubers are presented as fraudulent, inauthentic, opportunist and talentless, making money from doing nothing. Key themes recur in coverage, including YouTubers’ presumed lack of talent and expertise, the alleged dangers they present and the argument that they are not ‘really famous’. YouTubers’ claims to fame are thus simultaneously legitimised by giving them coverage and delegitimised within said coverage, echoing media treatment of other ‘amateur’ celebrities such as reality stars and citizen journalists. We argue that the response to YouTubers in more traditional media outlets demonstrates recognition of their visibility and appeal to a younger audience, while also signifying apprehension towards a phenomenon that potentially threatens both the existence of traditional media forms, and the influence of traditional media professionals.

Abstract:
In the article a competency-based approach to journalism education in the context of journalism transformation is presented. Digitization of the media industry, convergence of the functions and tasks in the field of communicative professions, intensification of media influences and media effects caused the need for journalism education revision. The appeal to competency as a basic term of the theory of education made it possible to update that set of knowledge, skills, professional qualities and values that make up the basic model of the journalistic profession. According to Z. Weischenberg’s classical model, journalism competency as a target function of journalism education has complex architectonics and integrates four components: professional competence, communication competence, special / industrial knowledge and social orientation. Each of the core competencies is transformed under the influence of new conditions of the profession realization, their relative importance changes. Thus, instrumental skills are changing under the influence of participatory journalism models. Participatory journalism requires a completely different content production algorithm. It requires the skills of information verification, interaction with amateur contributors and officials, involved in the process of solution of problems of different scales and directions, communication with an active audience, which is driven by an increased feedback factor in communication. At the same time, the knowledge segment of journalism competency becomes more important in connection with the emergence of a whole block of media-oriented disciplines: media psychology, media economics, media law, etc. The analytical component of the journalistic profession, caused by new information inquiries and the needs of the society, is increasing. The need for media marketing knowledge, which is gaining new sense and guidance as a result of the transition of the media to the digital platform, is being updated. Proactive competencies that allow journalists to continuously adapt to changes in the media industry also become a significant component of the competency model.

This paper reviews literature on campus crime and security. It reports the findings of a case study of an in-house security force servicing a large postsecondary institution located in central Canada. Limited data on campus crime in Canada and the U.S. indicate that it is neither as frequent nor as serious as media and other reports suggest. Primary data on the demographic characteristics of security officers combined with information on recruitment, training, mobility, and job content point to the existence of occupational segmentation within this sector. The findings also underscore the prevalence of a professional crime control-oriented form of security provision and are consistent with those of recent Canadian and American studies of campus crime and policing. The need for future research on issues concerning illegality and security on university campuses is highlighted and policy recommendations addressing the transition to a more community-oriented approach are outlined.

In order to determine the experience of ICTs usage for learning purposes by medical students and highlight the present problems of e-learning development in Ukraine, the study was carried out at Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. The survey involved 139 medical students of first through sixth year of study within three specialties, namely: general medicine, pediatrics, medical and prophylactic care. The results of the survey show that Internet and its technologies are mainly used as the accessory means of study. Medical students search, overview and learn a dditional information including professionally-oriented one (83%, 116/139). Taking into account a high level of trust (7.6/10) to the Internet and the tendency of the students to discuss information from Internet with their colleagues (96%, 134/139) rather than professionals (65%, 90/139) the following situation could have negative consequences in their future professional activity due to the possible presence of incorrect information in such resources. Students’ interest in the usage of different Internet sources for additional learning material forms the background and stimulus for the faculty to provide the possibility of using these resources in the process of study. The primary educational tasks promoting the e-learning development in Ukraine might be the selection, recommendation and development of highly-qualitative Internet sources and materials, as well as the usage of institutional web-sites and social media pages for teaching and learning purposes.

Abstract:
In the context of digitalization, the existing educational paradigms are being transformed. Transformational processes are associated with the solution of essential problems at key nodes that are significant for the construction of the entire paradigmatic series. As such, the nodes in this study, the values, goals, and results of education, the content of education were considered, and the issues of implementation of the student-centered educational paradigm that was relevant for them in the context of digitalization were identified. The most important are the questions about the image of a person, which determines the direction of pedagogical efforts, about the place of eternal universal values rooted in human culture, among other value orientations of education, about the criteria for the selection of content and the representation in its structure of the personal experience of students and teachers, about didactically significant specifics of electronic media of content. The dialogue character of the educational content and interaction in the educational process, determined by the culture, is emphasized. A comparative analysis of knowledge-oriented, personality-oriented, and digital educational paradigms in the given key nodes has been carried out. The role of the teacher as a subject of a personality-oriented educational process, acting here in two guises: professional and personal, is noted. The problems and risks associated with the weakening of the personal approach in education are formulated.

Abstract:
This study aims to solve problems related to the policy of Teacher Professional Development (TPD) program. This research produces a syllabus of in-office TPD for the German language to solve problems faced in the field; it is necessary to provide provision and preparation for lecturers so that the preparation and implementation of learning have the same standards and goals and the percentage of pedagogic material is more than the professional content. Meanwhile the composition of the competency test is otherwise. In this study, a new policy of TPD is formulated based on 21st century competencies and 21st century learning models that have been successfully applied in Australia, namely a life skills-based learning approach, or known as life- based learning. This framework has become the flagship program for learning innovation at the State University of Malang. The research employed a research and development method that begins with problem identification or problem formulation. The syllabus design is created and developed based on performance and needs analysis, and oriented to the principles of teacher training in the 21st century. These principles are reflected in the syllabus which contains pegadodic competences, professional competence, the ability to use digital media through blended learning and digital-based learning. Based on the results of the validation by German learning experts and suggestions from users, it can be concluded that the PPG German syllabus design is feasible to use. Nevertheless, it is necessary to refine the time allocation according to the needs and clarity of evaluation and assessment.

Abstract:
The article traces the escalation of the search for strategies of ac- tive cognition in the era of “Phygital” education. It relates the main provisions of the pedagogical technology of inverted learning, the didactic presumption of which is the transfer of the initial stages of mastering a new material to prelimi- nary independent work while using the class time for practical application of the acquired knowledge and creative activity at higher levels of the cognitive process. The philosophical principles of inverted learning are most clearly manifest- ed in the teacher-student synergetic tandem in the mainstream of humanistic pedagogy, consonant with Kant’s transcendentalism, which flips the idea of a passive subject and accentuates the active construct of cognition. As research methods the author chooses the analysis of various practices of working with English-language media content; examples are used to trace the efficacy of applying the flipped learning modus in the course of professionally oriented English for students of economics. The approbation work with video lectures results in analyzing causes of success and failure in employing elements of the flipped teaching technology, together with pros and cons that it can bring to teachers and students. The author concludes that the addressed educational paradigm can entail a change in priorities – from studying the material to its active assimilation for continued use.

Abstract:
The development of digital games over physical distance is a common practice in the gaming industry, yet widely neglected in the curricula of digital game development programs at university level. The coronavirus pandemic, however, pushed project-oriented game programs all over the world towards an implementation of ad hoc approaches to remote development in their project-based courses. The present article demonstrates  practice-based research examining such a course and its 30 third-year undergraduate students of game arts, game design, and game programming, who remotely collaborated in interdisciplinary groups of two to five persons over the course of half a semester during Germany’s logdown in spring 2020. Applying a mixed-method approach including quantitative and qualitative analyses of survey data (n=22) and qualitative content analyses of students’ postmortem documentations (n=30), this exploratory study reconstructed the online practices, experiences, and learning processes of these students between their professional routines and psychosocial challenges. The results of this study can be used in curriculum development to inform the advancement of courses focused on the development of prototypes over physical distance, which may not only be relevant for the field of games education, but also for related creative and project-oriented fields of higher education, such as design, digital media, and software engineering.

Abstract:
We believe that challenging times demand HCI education to pay attention to current real-life, complex, systemic problems. Therefore, we suggest an integrated framework for teaching HCI that involves combining the transition design framework, which suggests long-term, future-oriented design on a large scale toward more sustainable lifestyles, and speculative and critical design. The integration of the two creates spaces for dialogues and debates enabling students to take a more critical perspective concerning possible futures and technology design. We suggest studio-based pedagogy and explicate various aspects of the course, including its theoretical and practical underpinnings, pedagogical approach, and provide examples of projects to illustrate how the framework was used and ways in which speculative and critical design and thinking were crucial for learning. Finally, we highlight six learning facets that might contribute to orienting students’ upcoming professional work towards desirable futures.

Abstract:
The comparative analysis of Russian and foreign theory and practice aims at identifying productive practices of modern rural schools, professional training and development of rural teachers. Since the sociocultural, deficiency and ambivalent approaches are determined as basic for this study, their verification allows for a constructive balance in the development of rural schools and teachers as well as for positive changes in the sociocultural educational situation in rural settlements. The comparative analysis is based on theoretical and empirical studies from different countries of the world. The authors draw on the data and analytics of large-scale international studies, results of foreign and Russian researches, international documents of educational management, statistics and media information. They also rely on their long-term experience of teaching and organizing continuous professional training for rural teachers. A rural school teacher's activity is considered as professional, determined by the specificity of the sociocultural educational situation with its differentiation, inconsistency and instability, as well by the characteristics of modern rural schools, including their social mission, multifunctionality, openness, instability/variability of its position, the latter brought about by the increasing paucity of rural school students. These factors directly determine the specificity of teaching in rural areas: educators have to teach multiple subjects and fulfill multiple functions; they are involved in local community life and often have to changes the type of their professional activity. The chain of interrelated problems in the professional activity of rural teachers is considered within the framework of their integral, professionally-oriented development. The productive Russian and foreign practices of mixed-age teaching in rural schools are underpinned by the idea of relations in mixed-age child and child-adult communities as a system-forming factor in the modern information society. The authors determine and give grounds for the following priorities in modernization of the rural school and rural teacher training: formation and development of rural schools as sociocultural educational centers of settlements; establishment of federal and regional network educational centers to promote and support mixed-age child-adult educational communities that would function as a tool for solving vital problems of local communities and rural development; mixed-age education as a productive educational technology in small rural school; personalized training for rural teachers. The study can be useful for teachers, school administrators, researchers of lifelong education for rural teachers, and pedagogical students.

This work is devoted to analysis of the contemporary state of the educational milieu and the new qualities of the pedagogue-musician providing relevance in the pedagogical space for him. We relate media and interactivity to such qualities. These conceptions are highlighted in the article, and accentuation is made of the commonality of systems and methods of receiving informational competence on the part of the pedagogue-musician who received any level of education. The authors of the present research work analyze their own experience in the system of distanced education Moodle and Moodle Music from the point of view of actualizing educational technologies. The new technologies integrate to a greater degree into the system of traditional education. Upscaling the overall culture of the media-informational content and communication of a new type, the swiftest inclusion of pedagogues into this process is viewed as a source of transformation and optimization of a new value oriented content which is necessary to be formed by professional musicians. Mention is made of the impossibility of the entire substitution of the personal pedagogical communication with the pupil, moreover, for musicians, where the emphasis is traditionally made on individual lessons. But, wherever it is possible, it is important not to deny the realities of our time and to become involved in the mastery of contemporary informational and computer-music technologies, to adapt to contemporary realities, to upscale their level of media-informational culture and their auditorium, to diminish the gap between innovations based on broad usage of new informational educational technologies, on the one hand, and traditional music pedagogy, on the other hand.

Abstract:
Purpose In both elementary schools and elementary teacher education programs, social studies is marginalized while standards require increasingly more ambitious reasoning, reading, and writing in social studies than has historically been documented in American elementary schools. The purpose of this paper is to explain the challenges that elementary social studies teacher educators face in preparing elementary school teachers to facilitate the kind of ambitious social studies envisioned in the NCSS’s C3 Framework and advocate an approach to successfully address these challenges. Design/methodology/approach This paper articulates a targeted and ambitious approach to elementary social studies teacher education. The authors describe five recommendations from the teacher education literature for supporting preservice teachers in learning disciplinary-oriented social studies teaching, recommendations that guided the redesign of the social studies methods course. The authors then highlight key aspects of the redesigned methods course and demonstrate how the authors engaged the challenges inherent in the work of elementary social studies teacher education. Findings Although this paper is not arranged in such a way as to substantiate empirical findings, the purpose of the paper is to demonstrate an approach to elementary social studies education aligned with extant literature on preparing teachers to engage in reform teaching practices, specifically those disciplinary oriented practices suggested in NCSS’s C3 Framework. As such, the paper should be read as a perspective on practice. Research limitations/implications The type of disciplinary-oriented approach described here is increasingly under investigation in secondary teacher education research and similar approaches are under investigation in elementary math and science education research. To the authors’ knowledge, the approach is novel in elementary social studies education. Furthermore, the authors believe it offers a direction for researchers interested in gaps in the literature related to practice based teacher education and disciplinary-oriented social studies teacher education. Practical implications The approach described here offers specific guidance and resources for teacher educators who are struggling with the challenges of the contemporary social studies education landscape and/or who wish to focus methods courses in disciplinary ways. Social implications Research in social studied education has demonstrated that when students are exposed to disciplinary practices in social studies, their literacy skills improve and they learn analytical skills that support their development as citizens (consumption of media, participation in public discourse, ability to discern arguments). Originality/value As noted above, the approach described here is novel in elementary social studies education. Combining a disciplinary approach with a practice-based frame in elementary social studies represents an opportunity for empirical research and offers new approaches to the practice of teacher education and early career professional development.

Introduction. The content and peculiarities of the implementation of the nuclear features of the concept “higher education” presented in the national media in 2012–2017 and reflecting the results of the media interpretation of national education as a social institution are revealed. Material and methods. The materials of the central Russian media from 2012 to 2017 published on their official websites, including news, analytical articles, and interviews, were used as the research material. The selection of material was carried out by a continuous selection of texts that implement the studied concept. Results and discussion. The nuclear of lexical representations of the researched concept includes the phrase higher education, higher school, its contextual synonyms are professional education and education, and its representatives include such lexemes as higher education, University. Moreover, the interpretation of the concept is marked by lexemes that nominate the specific features of the corresponding Institute’s activities. The development of the concept during the study period is characterized by the formation of the specific content in accordance with the content of the ongoing reforms, and also by the dynamics of the implementation of its features. As a result of the analysis, 4 nuclear features of the media concept “higher education” were identified: “competitiveness at the world level”; “an institution that unites universities, the nature and number of which is adequate to solve its problems”; “economic-oriented”; “cost-effective, market-based production”. Non-nuclear characteristics include “having a wide range of educational areas”, “a social institution that is significant for an individual”, “having a research component”, and others. Conclusion. Four nuclear features of the concept of “higher education” are identified, only one of them is recorded in the explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language. All the identified features reflect the basic provisions of the Russian education reform being carried out at this time, and their presentation in the media are aimed to inform of the reform on the one hand, and to satisfy the audience on the other hand.

Abstract:
Background As the world continues to advance technologically, social media (SM) is becoming an essential part of billions of people’s lives worldwide and is affecting almost every industry imaginable. As the world is becoming more digitally oriented, the health care industry is increasingly visualizing SM as an important channel for health care promotion, employment, recruiting new patients, marketing for health care providers (HCPs), building a better brand name, etc. HCPs are bound to ethical principles toward their colleagues, patients, and the public in the digital world as much as in the real world. Objective This review aims to shed light on SM use worldwide and to discuss how it has been used as an essential tool in the health care industry from the perspective of HCPs. Methods A literature review was conducted between March and April 2020 using MEDLINE, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science for all English-language medical studies that were published since 2007 and discussed SM use in any form for health care. Studies that were not in English, whose full text was not accessible, or that investigated patients’ perspectives were excluded from this part, as were reviews pertaining to ethical and legal considerations in SM use. Results The initial search yielded 83 studies. More studies were included from article references, and a total of 158 studies were reviewed. SM uses were best categorized as health promotion, career development or practice promotion, recruitment, professional networking or destressing, medical education, telemedicine, scientific research, influencing health behavior, and public health care issues. Conclusions Multidimensional health care, including the pairing of health care with SM and other forms of communication, has been shown to be very successful. Striking the right balance between digital and traditional health care is important.

Abstract:
The article considers digital literacy as a fundamental component of the media competence development. The study of the history of the issue and analysis of the existing theories showed that the research focus on the digital literacy of the adult population and do not take into account minors who demonstrate the highest interest in media technologies. The authors develop a theory of the deep mediation of the social space and argue that the indicators of digital literacy of schoolchildren should correlate with the data on teachers, who, according to the contemporary educational strategy, are responsible for increasing the media competence of society - starting from the media-oriented courses in school. In 2019, the authors conducted a survey Media competence of schoolchildren and teachers (N=500+500) in 10 cities of the Volga Federal District with the lowest digital literacy index. Based on the results of the comparative analysis, the article identifies a number of challenges in the field of media literacy, in particular digital literacy, and the main one is the digital divide between two generations (schoolchildren and teachers), which indicates a communication barrier that hinders interaction not only in education, but also in the social space. While schoolchildren demonstrate high interest in media technologies, their teachers seem not to be interested in media technologies not only in professional activities but also in everyday life. The authors believe that the inverse correlation of the digital literacy levels of schoolchildren and teachers prevents the harmonious development of the media competence in the Russian society.

Abstract:
<p>Like translation in general, and even law itself, legal translation is an interdisciplinary field. Legal linguistics (jurilinguistics), comparative law, general law, terminology, text-linguistics and pragmatics, all have a share in legal translation. The latter is generally viewed as a sort of technical translation (Venuti 1995: 41) and legal language as a technical language (Cao 1997: 18). Those who argue for its special status often claim that legal translation is the antipode of technical translation (Bocquet 2000: 16). On the other hand, there are scholars who argue against this special status of legal translation, claiming there is nothing special about legal translation (Harvey 2002: 180). More moderate views are also found (Herbots 1987: 814). In such questions it takes no true/false answer. Rather, there are many sorts of legal translation. Of course, each view has different implications as far as the legal translator’s skills are concerned. Our discussion starts with a presentation of some key-views about legal translation, with particular emphasis on opposing ones. Then we present the main professional profiles of the legal translator in Greece and the relevant legislation. Who does translate legal texts? What skills do they have? How do they describe their profession and/or services in social media and/or professional websites? Who is the ideal legal translator for the several categories of clients? Which is the right kind of education and/or training for every sort of legal translator? Those are some of the questions that this article tries to give an answer to. After presenting the main functions of translated legal texts, the article closes with a comparison of legal translator’s professional profiles in Greece on the basis of those text functions.</p>

PurposeThis research aims to generate new insights into consumer ethics by tapping into business executives' first-hand experience. The overarching goal of this novel, discovery-oriented approach is to illuminate the interactive relationships between business and consumer ethics, and to offer contextualized insights into consumers' (un)ethical behaviors.Design/methodology/approachThree focus group interviews were conducted with senior business executives representing nine different industry sectors. Thematic analysis was performed to identify key themes for an integrative model.FindingsFour key themes emerged, highlighting: (1) the mutual influence between business and consumer ethics, (2) the nature and intensity of consumer ethics, (3) the dual influence of digital communication, and (4) the partial influence of consumer education. The themes gave rise to an integrative conceptual model.Research limitations/implicationsThis research was limited somewhat by the small and judgmental sample.Practical implicationsConsumers' growing demands for business ethics underscore the need for companies to elevate ethical considerations. The amplified consumer voice on social media is dreaded by business practitioners and is regarded as unethical consumer behavior to be actively managed.Social implicationsBusiness and consumer ethics can mutually influence each other in a benign or vicious circle. Consumer education is effective in some but not all domains.Originality/valueBusiness practitioners' insights reveal (1) the interactivity of business and consumer ethics and (2) the diversity of (un)ethical consumer behaviors. They point to the need for an enriched definition of consumer ethics and an expansion on the categorical structure of consumers' (un)ethical practices.

The article presents the results of the study that touched upon the actual problem of the system of professional legal education – the degree of specialist’s compliance with the requirements of the labor market as well as the improvement of the quality of their practical training. The aim of the study is to scientifically substantiate the effectiveness of practiceoriented technologies in the educational process of the college in order to successfully adapt future lawyers in professional activities. The main method of research is a pedagogical experiment, the purpose of which is approbation of the developed author’s methodology. Also, the study used methods of analysis and generalization, questioning, testing, pedagogical observation and methods of mathematical statistics. The presented practice-oriented technologies are aimed at mastering students’ professional competencies and provide for the gradual passage of three modules by the student: goal-setting of didactic cycles, selection of optimal means taking into account peculiarities of the training stage, implementation of educational activity characterized by integration of project and problem-based technologies while observing conditions of differentiated training. According to the results obtained during the implementation of the pedagogical experiment, the introduction of practice-oriented technologies in the educational process of training college students of future lawyers, providing for the gradual development of knowledge and skills, allowed to form the basic professional competencies of students at a reliable level. Thus, the use of activity and interactive methods in the learning process, the introduction of simulation modeling and design, as well as technology for solving situational tasks can be considered as an effective tool for shaping students’ professional-oriented skills and abilities.

Abstract:
Introduction. The need to modernize the educational process in Russia is undeniable. Modernization of pedagogical professional education involves its adaptation to the changed socio-economic and state-political conditions of Russia’s development and the development of the experience of modernization of the educational sphere accumulated by other countries. In a modern educational organization, information and communication infrastructure is one of the main components of the educational process, which has a wide range of didactic electronic educational resources (ESR) as a practice-oriented tactic for optimizing the educational process. The aim is to identify approaches to improving the efficiency of the educational process based on the use of electronic simulators in the training of future specialists. Material and methods. The main sources of the conceptual design of fundamentally new e-learning resources-educational content, pedagogical tools and innovative forms of its development was the experience of professional training of students of “South Ural State Technical College”, bachelor and master degree students of Professional Pedagogical Institute of Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University in the direction of training 44.04.44 Vocational training in the framework of the specialty “Information Security Management in Professional Educational Institutions”; the process of integrative involvement of employers in the development of electronic media simulators; practical experience of forming practice-oriented professional competences of students. The main methods of research are theoretical analysis of the published material on the integration of the implementation of the ESM-ensure high-quality implementation of the regulations of the federal state educational standards 3 ++ for professional training of bachelors and undergraduates. Results and discussion. We have analyzed the materials of publications on the problem of bringing professional education to the modern needs of the labor market, the main difficulties of which are associated with its rather complex internal semantics, including several significant levels of hierarchy and connections between different types of very fragmented information that is not acceptable enough for making effective decisions, including in the conditions of forced use of distance learning. From the standpoint of reliability theory, it is almost impossible to hope for encouraging results without a scientifically-based approach to development within the framework of qualimetric digitalization based on the use of resources from various content platforms and cross-platform ERM templates. A special role in the light of the often forced use of distance learning belongs to such pedagogical tools as an electronic simulator (ES), designed for the interrelated performance of three main functions-diagnostic, training, and educational-when working out practical skills of students, forming their skills of motor-reflex and cognitive actions in difficult situations, understanding the essence of the processes and their mutual dependence. Implementation on the basis of CodeRunner plugin (V3.3.0) for Moodle multiplayer FLOOR in the provision of quality of formation of universal and professional competencies of vocational education students in these areas has allowed to reveal that the use of ES contributes to the growth of educational achievements of students, at least 15 %, which, in turn, affects the increase of the level (degree) of the formation of their competence, predetermining improving the efficiency of the educational process, improvement of its constituent elements. Thus in addition to increasing the average educational achievements of students still recorded an increase of 18 % and median characteristics, then there is a corresponding decrease in the proportion of students with high handles in replies to questions of control tests. Effective modernization of the educational process of pedagogical professional education, in our opinion, largely depends on the integrative implementation of the use of innovative platforms of various architectures and cross-platform templates of EOR-educational content of pedagogical tools, based within the framework of the modern teaching paradigm on the conceptual provisions and methods of pedagogy, measurements, mathematical modeling and scientific and analytical statistics of the qualimetric approach. The article analyzes the trends in the use of electronic educational resources (EER) to improve the practice-oriented component of the component of professional education. One of the directions in the light of often forced distance learning is the use of media content of electronic simulators (ES), designed to form the skills of motor-reflex and cognitive actions in complex situations, understanding the essence of the processes on the basis of the interrelated performance of three main functions-diagnostic, training, educational in the development of practical skills of students. Conclusion. The resource capabilities of verifying the variants of content platform architectures and cross-platform templates of such educational tools of EOR as ES, as well as innovative forms of their development and implementation, allow us to hope for encouraging results in finding ways to improve the efficiency of the educational process of professional educational organizations (VET), timely leveling of the contradiction between the requirements of employers of the modern post-industrial society and the level of formation of professional competencies of VET graduates.

Abstract:
The article deals with the problem of actualizing personality-oriented approaches in the system of higher music education as a strategy driven by the challenges of modern culture. It is noted that today the professional environment requires, in addition to mastering performing skills, the formation of the ability for self-development, self-actualization, independent choice of strategies for creative development, adaptive and communication skills and abilities. The constructing by the teacher, together with the student, of an individually creative trajectory of the development of a musician-performer is assessed as a way to achieve these goals. The concept of «individual professional and creative developmental trajectory» of a student as musician-performer through the synthesis of professional and creative competencies and the availability of soft skills has been explicated. The authors propose possible approaches to achieving the set educational goals through the creation of social and pedagogical conditions, such as the primary diagnosis of the student’s musical performance level, the creation of «educational and creative situations», the development by the university the integrated formats of studies, the organization of all types of practices in the context of an individual development trajectory, independent work of a student as a tool for updating the process of forming competencies. The article considers and analyzes the peculiarities of preparation of a musician-performer from the viewpoint of building the dynamics of the learning process as a movement from «subjectobject » to «subject-subject» interactions in the «teacher-student» dyad, which is based on the principle of student-centered educational process. The article suggests and describes possible strategies for building the educational process, the core of which is personalization and self-actualization of the creative potential of a musician-performer; development of motivation for self-organization, self-education, self-development in the preparation of a student; focus on productive adaptation in a professional environment, which involves the integration of professional performing skills and soft skills; unity of preserving domestic traditions of music education and openness to the dynamics of innovative educational strategies.

Abstract:
The paper covers the ways of building foreign language competence of students majoring in electrical engineering in the process of their vocational training. The purpose of the article is the practical substantiation of the process of forming the future energy engineers’ foreign languagecompetence by means of project technology and carrying out diagnostic measures to check its effectiveness in foreign language learning. The methods used in this research are theoretical (analysis, comparison, systematization, generalization), empirical research methods (observations, surveys, pedagogical experiment), and statistical (non-parametric Pearson's criterion.). The results. The efficiency of project technology in the indicated process has been substantiated. A number of factors that determine the choice of such a learning technology has been specified, namely they are the following: student-oriented approach, foreign language learner autonomy, building project-oriented skills in specialty metalanguage, relationship between project work as a form of performing educational assignments and types of engineering activity. Author’s definition of project technology has been provided. By this notion a system of active and practical methods of learner-centered education aimed at programmed organization of students’ project activity, creation of educational projects that involve developing skills of independent knowledge acquisition, their practical handling, development of critical and creative thinking and key competences, is meant. The efficiency of project technology in the educational process has been experimentally verified by the example of developing foreign-language competence of students doing Master’s degree in electrical engineering. In order to determine the efficiency of project technology in the process of foreign language teaching to students in the master’s programme compared to traditional teaching methods, control groups and experimental groups with such attributes as reproductive properties, constructability and creativity were formed. Foreign language competence forming according to motivational, communication, professional, projecting and performance indicators was implemented in the process of executing profession-oriented projects. In order to assess the results of future power engineers’ project work, 100-point scale was developed. Conclusions. According to the results of the performed project work, it was determined that the level of foreign language competence in the experimental groups was higher than the one in the control groups. Generalized maturity indices of motivational, communication, professional, projecting and performance components in the control groups and in the experimental groups differed significantly. Group inhomogeneity and the significant differences were confirmed with the help of statistical non-parametric Pearson’s test χ². The obtained results of the pedagogical experiment have proved the efficiency of the suggested project technology and its rationale for implementing in the process of future electric power engineers’ foreign language teaching.

ABSTRACT Based on a survey of professionally oriented (PO) accounting faculty, tenure-track faculty, and administrators, we examine the integration of PO faculty members into accounting departments. We find fairly positive views regarding PO faculty members' integration into accounting departments, the leveraging of PO faculty members' skills, and PO faculty members' contribution to achieving departmental missions. However, PO faculty are less positive than others about their integration and the leveraging of their skills, and they are more positive than tenure-track faculty about their contribution to achieving departmental missions. PO faculty primarily contribute in teaching and service, with limited research focus. We find evidence of needed improvements in PO faculty benefits, with broad support for certain improvements, but PO faculty are significantly more likely than others to offer specific suggestions for change. We offer four action steps primarily to bolster the strategic and decision-making roles of PO faculty.

Abstract:
Current trends in the development of the Ukrainian education system provide a new approach to the organization of educational process. A doctor must know the algorithm of the diagnostic process and medical decision-making peculiarities underlying the making diagnosis. This requires constant improvement as the number of law cases has demonstrated that diagnostic errors are merely not due to physician’s insufficient medical qualification but often as a consequence of violation of the basic procedural laws. Studying the theory of medial diagnosis stimulates the development of clinical thinking. The purpose of this work was to systematize the main stages in making diagnosis and to outline the ways of their implementation through the interactive learning. The study involved the medical students of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University. The methodology included theoretical systematic analysis of scientific and methodological literature as well as own experience in applying interactive learning. The main motivating factor in the professional training organization should be focused on the professionally oriented use of material and fostering students’ own experience. Under these conditions, the importance of a semiotic approach to the diagnosis of diseases is increasing, i.e. the process of disease identification relies on the ability to catch and to recognise its signs. When making a diagnosis, the doctor has to rely on facts only. This is described as "clinical thinking." The interactive learning in the courses of various disciplines in the program of medical doctor training is being actively implemented at Zaporszhzhia State Medical University. It provides the opportunity for more pronounced pedagogical influence, which induces students to be more active in mastering the program, as well as to demonstrate creativity and research for solving various tasks in daily class practice. Deep understanding the theory of medical decision-making process and making diagnosis greatly contributes to clinical thinking.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the need for the development of the information culture of museum specialists as an independent area of personnel training in the context of the digital transformation of society. As a research methodology, a set of complementary approaches was used: systemic, allowing to ensure the integrity of museologists' ideas about the phenomenon of information culture; technological and activity, revealing the possibilities of using information and communication technologies in various types of museum activities; culturological, allowing to give a holistic view of modern culture as a unity of its spiritual, social and technological sides. As a result of the study, the authors of the article proved the need to form a special facet of the culture of modern museum specialists - the information culture of a museologist. The definition of the notion "information culture of a museologist" has been developed, where a special place is occupied by the information worldview of a museologist. It acts as the basis for the development of professional self-awareness for the purpose of personal professional self-development and continuous improvement of the level of professional qualifications. The structure of the training course "Information culture of a museologist" is proposed. The purpose of which is the formation of a systematic understanding of the digitalization of culture and the digital transformation of information resources in museology, protection of objects of cultural and natural heritage and related subject areas; mastering the algorithms for searching for information in the electronic information environment, mastering the methods of analytical-synthetic processing and critical analysis of information in the structure of the professional activity of a museologist, mastering the technology for creating information products in the context of digital transformation of the culture industry in accordance with the tasks of educational and professionally oriented research work. The thesis is argued that in the professional training of museologists, a harmonious unity of intellectual and technological principles should be observed on the priorities and values of culture. It is concluded that the differences between the ideas of the formation of the information culture of a personality, the information culture of a museologist and the idea of integration of media and information literacy promoted by UNESCO, developed in Russia, are not of a fundamental nature. They only reflect the desire of Russian scientists and practitioners to combine the advantages of international theory and practice with the traditions of national culture and education, the accumulated experience of Russian museums and educational institutions. Scientific novelty consists, firstly, in the theoretical understanding of the danger of the digitalization of museums becoming a purely technical and technological process and the loss of the educational and educational function of the museum; secondly, in adapting the concept of the formation of an individual's information culture to the tasks of information training for museologists.

Abstract:
Transcultural perspective has recently raised more academic attention due to the internationalization of higher education and migration all over the globe. Thus the objective of the paper is to open the discussion on film education, especially teaching children’s horror films from the transcultural perspectives through an empirical case study among university students in media education. We concentrate on students attitudes and perception on children´s horror from the perspective of film education. Our question is, how to increase the students understanding of children´s horror culture and pedagogies related to it? The paper consists of the first research results based on the course including lecturers’ research diaries, students' interviews, their film life studies and practical assignments such as films made during the two-week workshop. The preliminary results show that the perceptions and attitudes vary a lot depending on cultural backgrounds. Students’ pre-understandings of film culture and film literacy as a pedagogical practice mostly were professional-oriented and colored with the aesthetic perception on film. The most visible impact of the course was the minds-opening for wider understanding of film as education and uses of film in teaching. Taking up the aspects of children´s horror in the course was surprising, even irrelevant to students: they didn´t expect this kind of perspective at all. As a result the course was able to create open, safe spaces for reflection and changing students’ mindsets. Based on the results, situated approaches to film education is suggested to reinforce multiliteracy model with creation of safe space for discussion and supplementing emotional skills.

Abstract:
In accordance with the competence approach, the becoming of a future specialist involves the development of not only intellectual but also physical component of personality, resulting in the need to update the methodology of physical education of students and encourage physical selfimprovement in particular. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the need to develop students' motivation in the process of physical education, as exemplified by pedagogical activities of teachers of the University of Customs and Finance. The study was conducted in three stages using scientific-theoretical and empirical methods of cognition, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalisation, and survey. It was found that the practices of physical education of students are developed according to the individual motivating factor. The main interpretations of the category “motivation” in the context of historical retrospect are defined, as a result of which attention was focused on the perception of motivation as an incentive to meet personal needs. Abstract:
Industrial accident prevention is a critical problem to avoid loss of human lives, injuries, damage of installations and financial losses. Training is only effective and sustainable, if the human trainees are affected by their training experiences. Time travel games, in general, and time travel prevention games, in particular, are an innovative category of edutainment media having high potential in areas such as environmental education and prevention training. Time travel prevention games for purposes such as accident prevention in the industries are advantageous due to their conservation of resources including human health and lives. They are af-fective by allowing for unprecedented learner/player/trainee experiences and they are effective due to the fascination of application-oriented game play including opportunities to influence the fate, the latter being less close to reality, but the more attractive and worth telling. Digital storyboarding is the ultimate design methodology allowing for properly dovetailing pedagogical and game design. It works simultaneously bottom-up, top-down or both at once in interdisciplinary teams flexibly in space and time. Storyboarding is the organization of future learner/player/trainee experiences. The expressive power and the reach of digital storyboarding is due to its roots in dynamic plan generation for the mastery of disturbances in the industries. The technology particularly supports the design of time travel adaptive to the players’ needs and goals aiming at affective experienc-es and effective learning.
