Abstract:
The following work is a comparative analysis of two target designs for Molybdenum-99 production. Important parameters for their usage are their thermal-hydraulic properties. The considered target designs can be used in a research reactor of basin type. The research channel, where the target is being installed, does not possess high static pressure; therefore, the target should not cause the coolant boiling during operation. The more fissile material in the target, the higher the expected isotope producing and at the same time the energy release. The main task of construction modernization of the target is to increase the production of the necessary radioisotope in the normal removal of heat from the walls of the target sleeve. Comparative analysis is carried out for targets of the cylindrical type.

Abstract:
The paper considers the theory of energy production cycles. It indicates its relevance and the possibility of successful application for the analysis of the territorial structure and assessment of the prospects for modernization of the economy. At the same time, questions are raised about the inconsistency of this concept with modern market conditions. An attempt is made to rethink the theory of energy production cycles, on the basis of which the concept «coal cycle of productions» is formulated and the author’s generalized scheme of this cycle is given. Next, the research compares a general scheme of the coal production cycle with the production cycle actually formed around Kuznetsk coals. On the basis of this comparison, the degree of completeness and the reserves for further modernization of this cycle of production were revealed. Among the possible directions of coal use, the most promising for introduction in the Kuzbass are indicated, namely: coal semi-coking, gasification (including underground coal) and preparation of water-coal fuel. The research has revealed some positive effects from this complication of the existing coal production cycle in the Kuzbass.

Abstract:
Today, a brand new strategy that can foster agricultural production is being shaped based on IT solutions. The paper characterizes the state and prospects for the development of digital farm management, the challenges of mastering digital innovations by agricultural enterprises and ways to tackle them at the present stage. A study is relevant due to the lack of a conceptual approach to the evolution of information digital systems in the sector of ameliorative economy in the context of growing requirements for environmental safety and competitiveness of agricultural production. The solutions to create a common information environment uniting an enterprise with suppliers of resources and consumers of products (services) are also increasingly relevant today. A methodological toolkit rests on some general scientific approaches, including analysis and synthesis, methods of deduction and systems analysis, cluster approach. After careful evaluation of automated processes at reclamation enterprises, there can be no doubt that it is necessary to improve the efficiency of information and technological support for management decisions by digital systems. The challenges are related to: lack of proper concept and methodology of modern digital systems, as well as procedures for the integration cooperation of information resources and a digital management system operations for managing them; unified algorithms for handling information; automation operations that meet the present management requirements; qualified experts encouraged to improve the use of digital technologies. The basic procedures for enhancing digital systems at enterprises include: analytical evaluation of current production situation, development of a functional design and model of the integrated digital system; creation of a mechanism for its implementation. In the process of transforming digital support for managerial actions, the following actions are possible: modification of the structure of existing processes; automation of conventional technological and organizational production procedures; alignment of existing processes subject to the technologies being integrated; identification of new opportunities for operations.

Abstract:
This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the levels of agricultural modernization and socioeconomic indicators of the Brazilian federation units. A multivariate approach to data analysis led to the creation of the Index of Agricultural Modernization (IAM). The Spearman correlation test was used to verify the relationship between levels of agricultural modernization and a set of economic and social indicators. As a result of the survey, we obtained the Index of Agricultural Modernization (IAM) which allowed the ranking of Brazilian states in terms of level of modernization. The correlation analysis demonstrated the existence of significant and positive correlation between the agricultural modernization and the following indicators: per capita GDP, trade balance per capita and IFDM. This means that agricultural modernization contributes to increased production, exports and the levels of socioeconomic development of the states. For the variable urbanization rate, test results showed a negative correlation with the IAM, which suggests a contribution of agricultural modernization for fixing people in the countryside. Indicators of inequality in income distribution showed no significant correlation. In conclusion, it can be inferred that the positive relationship of the IAM with indicators of production, exports and socioeconomic development shows the presence of positive externalities and impacts of the agricultural modernization processfor the Brazilian states.

Abstract:
The introduction of modern medicine into developing societies is an important topic for social-scientific analysis. Here I draw upon modernization theory to illuminate this topic. Using Peter Berger's notion of “carriers of modernity,” I discuss health care as such a carrier. Compared with premodern modes of health care, modern health care has a calculable, “commodity” character. Its production has become a major and increasingly systematized sector of the economy. In addition to its manifest clinical benefits, health care conveys the symbolic meanings of modernity. It participates in the broad though uneven passage of technology and values from Western societies to metropolitan areas in developing societies and thence to the hinterland. Health care as the focus of demodernization strains is also examined, through case examples drawn from Amish and Islamic contexts.

Abstract:
Introduction. The current stage of development of the economy of the advanced countries of the world is characterized by high-tech agricultural production with a sufficiently high level of its provision with production resources. Timely updating of the main technical means guarantees sustainable economic development of the industry. For agricultural producers, the importance of quantitative and qualitative parameters of basic technical equipment and their timely updating is enhanced due to the impact on the productivity of agricultural production of natural and climatic factors. However, the problem of technical and technological renewal of agricultural production remains unresolved in Ukraine for a number of subjective and objective reasons that require identifying and finding ways to eliminate them. Methods. Theoretical and methodological basis of the article is the fundamental provisions of modern economic science, the work of scientists. In the course of the research, in particular, the following methods are used: analysis and synthesis – to study the object and object of the research; abstract and logical (theoretical generalizations and formulation of conclusions); constructive and experimental (formation of strategic directions of technological modernization of production modernization). Results. It has been found that the formation of a strategy of reproduction of fixed capital is adversely affected by the disparity of prices for agricultural products and industrial production resources and the significant risks associated with the specific features of agricultural production. The strategy of reproduction of fixed capital is substantiated, which should be aimed at radical technical modernization of agriculture and equipping of agriculture with systems of machines for complex mechanization of all technological processes of production production. Innovative developments of scientific institutions for the subjects of agrarian business are highlighted. A strategic SWOT-analysis of the development of the technical base of agricultural producers has been conducted. Innovations are classified by agricultural enterprises of Ternopil region. It is determined that the key factor for effective technical modernization in agriculture is stimulating scientific research on the development, promotion and development of technological and technological innovations in the agricultural sector. Discussion. The obtained theoretical and applied recommendations can be used to improve the existing approaches to creating strategic directions for modernization of technological modernization of production in agricultural enterprises. Abstract:
The article is devoted to an assessment of the potential for modernization of the Russian economy in the face of external challenges that make it difficult for domestic companies to access international financial markets and technologies. The relevance of the study is due to the need to search for own resources for the required large-scale modernization. The purpose of the study is to assess the production and financial potential in the modernization process. This goal predetermines the solution of such problems as analysis of the current state of the production base, assessment of financial resources for the production upgrade, identification of opportunities and risks in the implementation of modernization processes. In this connection, the authors focus on analyzing the factors constraining modernization processes, such as: a low level of capital accumulation, inadequate development of the financial services market, and uneven spatial accessibility of credit institutions. The methodological apparatus for analyzing the production and financial potential is based on the allocation of basic non-financial sectors of the economy and the financial market, using the methods of detailing, grouping, vertical and horizontal analysis, comparison and synthesis. In addition, graphical analysis is used. The empirical basis of the study was the statistical indicators of the Federal State Statistics Service for the branches of the economy and the data of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the state of the banking sector. The theoretical basis was the works of well-known scientists, dedicated to the issues of re-industrialization and the development of strategic priorities for innovative modernization of the Russian economy. The article compares the dynamics of investment in fixed assets with the rate of increase in depreciation of production assets, analyzes the sources of financing investment activities in the part of updating production systems, and assesses the methods of state regulation of the banking sector as one of the main external suppliers of investment resources in non-financial sectors of the economy. The quality of regulation of financial market institutions is assessed from the standpoint of its diversification and ensuring greater accessibility to the borrowed capital of not only business but also the population.Based on the results of the analysis, factors that limit the scope for large-scale structural modernization of the economy are identified. It is revealed that the pace of renewal of fixed capital is insufficient and does not contribute to reducing the wear and tear of production assets in the basic sectors of the Russian economy. The availability of borrowed capital for the modernization of production systems is differentiated in a spatial aspect. The functioning institutions of the financial market also do not ensure equal access to credit resources for small and medium-sized businesses. The scientific novelty of this study is that the authors identified the main problems of the process of modernization and implementation of innovative developments in the context of high levels of depreciation of production systems and inadequate investment resources. In addition, worthy of attention is the conclusion that the structure of the financial services market is inadequate for the scale of structural modernization and it needs to be diversified. The results of the research can find practical application in the development of modernization strategies in the leading sectors of the economy.

Abstract:
Agricultural modernization is the most important task of modernization construction. This study used the multi-index comprehensive measurement method to estimate the agricultural modernization level of Shandong Province from 2010 to 2019. Regional differences were analyzed using the ESDA method, and the main obstacles were diagnosed using the obstacle degree model. This paper constructs an index system, including an agricultural production system, a management system, an industrial system, output benefits, rural social development, and agricultural sustainable development. The results showed that the level of agricultural modernization in Shandong Province was divided into three stages: decelerating ascent (2010–2013), accelerating ascent (2014–2016), and high-level fluctuation (2017–2019). Results found that the scores of the agricultural production system, rural development level, and agricultural industrial system peaked in 2017.The regional difference in the agricultural modernization level of Shandong Province is high in the north and low in the south of China. The main obstacles in the rising stage of agricultural modernization in Shandong Province are the proportion of the added value of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and animal husbandry service; the amount of fertilizer and pesticide used per land area; the total power of units farmland machinery; the high-level fluctuation order are shelterbelt construction rate; the proportion of livestock production value; rural per capita electricity consumption; and rural employment rate. The average arable land per household and the employment rate of the rural population are the key obstacles to high levels of agricultural modernization. Therefore, optimizing industrial structure, improving the input of productive factors, cultivating a high-quality rural labor force, improving the efficiency of agricultural funds use, and awareness of the sustainable development of agriculture are all suggested.

Abstract:
A meaningful characteristic of modern industrial production is given and prospects for the modernization of the Belarusian industry through new industrialization are identified in the paper. In this regard, the objectives of the study have been determined: to consider modern concepts of the transformation of economic systems under the influence of technological progress, to substantively characterize the new industrialization, including to describe the technological and organizational features of the new intentional production, to identify its distinctive features, to determine the prospects for using the concept of new industrialization for modernization of the Belarusian industry. The methodological basis was the general scientific methods and principles of сognition, namely: the method of deduction and induction, the method of comparative analysis, historical approach. The author considers the new industrialization as an economic structure that has developed as a result of the spread of digital technologies in a modern socially-oriented, predominantly market economy. The technological basis of the new industrial production is cyber-physical production systems that operate through the industrial Internet of things, the Internet of services and network mechanisms of interaction between all participants in the value added chain. The development of digital production and digital services entails the digitalization of business models. The result is flexible, adaptive, individualized industrial production through the triad of digital production, digital services and digital business models. When modernizing the Belarusian industrial complex, aimed at developing high-tech and knowledge-intensive industrial production and increasing the efficiency of traditional industries through the use of a wide variety of new technologies, the priority should be the comprehensive digitalization of production, services and business models.

Full text
Abstract:
The production of energy in wind power plants is regarded as ecologically clean because there being no direct emissions of harmful substances during the conversion of wind energy into electricity. The production and operation of wind power plant components make use of the significant potential of materials such as steel, plastics, concrete, oils, and greases. Energy is also used, which is a source of potential negative environmental impacts. Servicing a wind farm power plant during its operational years, which lasts most often 25 years, followed by its disassembly, involves energy expenditures as well as the recovery of post-construction material potential. There is little research in the world literature on models and methodologies addressing analyses of the environmental and energy aspects of wind turbine modernization, whether in reference to turbines within their respective lifecycles or to those which have already completed them. The paper presents an attempt to solve the problems of wind turbine modernization in terms of balancing energy and material potentials. The aim of sustainable modernization is to overhaul: assemblies, components, and elements of wind power plants to extend selected phases as well as the lifecycle thereof while maintaining a high quality of power and energy; high energy, environmental, and economic efficiency; and low harmfulness to operators, operational functions, the environment, and other technical systems. The aim of the study is to develop a methodology to assess the efficiency of energy and environmental costs incurred during the 25-year lifecycle of a 2 MW wind power plant and of the very same power plant undergoing sustainable modernization to extend its lifecycle to 50 years. The analytical and research procedure conducted is a new model and methodological approach, one which is a valuable source of data for the sustainable lifecycle management of wind power plants in an economy focused on process efficiency and the sustainability of energy and material resources.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the modernization of domestic agricultural production, its support from the state, the introduction by agricultural producers of innovations in the production process. The article systematizes the views of economists on the forms (directions) and methods of supporting innovation in agriculture. Modernization of agricultural production is one of the primary tasks of increasing the competitiveness of the industry. Improvement of production in agriculture, which is impossible without the use of innovation, is becoming a key factor in achieving success in competition in foreign markets for agricultural products. Statistics show that the technical and technological modernization in the industry is extremely weak. It should be noted that the level of innovation in domestic agriculture is about 10%, while in the US it is more than 50%. The decline in the production of agricultural machinery threatens the technical and technological modernization of the industry, since agricultural producers with limited financial capabilities, with the continuation of this negative trend in the near future, there will be no possibility of an alternative choice when acquiring the much-needed equipment. The insignificant financing of innovations in agriculture by the state led to the fact that only 2% of agricultural enterprises introduce innovative technologies into their activities. The state needs to support domestic producers of agricultural equipment, since their absence poses a real threat to the food security of the national state.

Abstract:
For a more successful formation of industrial production systems, an effective system for managing intellectual capital, knowledge and information is needed. An indispensable condition for the development of modern industry is the creation and use of information and knowledge. Industrial modernization requires an organizational and economic mechanism for resource management. When solving the problems of improving and technological development of production systems of industrial enterprises or business groups, a method for selecting a strategy for managing corporate information resources was developed. It is based on the consequences of economic monitoring of the state of the production system, which provides for the primary processing and assessment of the reliability of the results, creation of alternative predictive scenarios for changes in the state of the external and internal environment of the production system, expression of strategic goals and objectives of modernization, development of target criteria for achieving the results of modernization, alternative competing strategies for information and knowledge management, checking competing strategies against the target criterion, choosing a strategy to be applied in the improvement process. The transition to promising paths is permissible only under the condition of intensive modernization of industrial enterprises, carried out on the basis of those technical and economic decisions that will lead to the development and use of the latest NBIC technologies.

Discussions on Russia´s modernization paths specify that conservation of existing institutions along with the raw materials export-based model of development cannot sustain high economic growth rates. The article spells out this statement by expanding the analysis horizon to 2050. The model runs demonstrate that modernization failure in the 2010s may stipulate the loss by Russia´s economy of the ability to expand or even transition to the shagreen-leather-like economy (a model of constantly declining GDP accompanied by reduced oil production) in the 2030s or 2040s. The analysis shows that without effective modernization aimed at enhancing productivity of all production factors there will be no economic growth in Russia in the middle of the XXI century.
