Abstract:
Purpose – The importance of entrepreneurship education and the lack of studies at the vocational level, have created a need to develop a model of entrepreneurship learning. The purpose of this paper is to determine what vocational college students learn about entrepreneurship from working in a small enterprise, how they learn it and what role the teacher has in the learning process. Design/methodology/approach – The data used are drawn from discussions between eight students (aged 16-18), where they assessed and developed their business activities conducted over the course of a year. Using qualitative data collection and analysis methods, content connected with entrepreneurship was examined to provide information about activities they undertook and how the learning process occurred. Findings – The findings indicate that learning in a small enterprise is a continuous process, where content, activities and process are intertwined. The core of learning is reflection-in-action, to develop entrepreneurial skills and behaviour. Practical implications – This paper may offer a means of applying a small business learning model to entrepreneurship learning. The results can benefit teachers planning entrepreneurship learning. Originality/value – This paper contributes to the understanding of student learning in small enterprises by empirically examining what learning takes place and how.

Abstract:
Abstract In today’s competitive environment, to identify and correctly adjust the individual components of the business model is an important strategic device for every entrepreneur. This paper (preliminary study) deals with different types of business models applied to the sector of small and medium-size farms in the Czech Republic. The main objective was to identify and categorize activities undertaken by Czech farmers into homogeneous clusters and offer recommendations on possible business model modification. The research was based on data from the Farm Accountancy Data Network (hereafter FADN). The principal component analysis and cluster analysis were carried out as part of the assessment, under which farms are categorized into homogeneous groups. The results showed that the farms surveyed can be categorized according to similar economic characteristics, production plans, and implementation processes into three basic clusters. The first business model is elaborated for the classic field production and various kinds of vegetable or livestock production, the second model for the special crop and livestock production, and the third one for the animal production. The use of FADN data and the fact that most Czech agricultural companies are of small- and medium-size should be taken into account as limiting factors of the study.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on business activities in Ukraine and the world and its financial security. The analysis showed that the economy of Ukraine, like most countries in the world, has suffered significant losses from the introduction of anti-epidemic restrictions on business activities, which manifested itself in falling GDP, industrial production index, investment activity. Due to the temporary or complete cessation of business, the unemployment rate has increased significantly. The pandemic crisis also harmed enterprises' financial results, which declined significantly in all economic activities, especially in industry, transport, temporary accommodation, and catering, where the share of unprofitable enterprises reaches 73%. Thus, the problem of ensuring the financial security of business becomes relevant. The work aims to develop methodological approaches to assessing the impact of the pandemic crisis on businesses' financial security and to identify effective ways to ensure such security. The research used scientific abstraction, comparative and systematic analysis and synthesis, systematization, and logical generalization. It was determined that small and medium-sized businesses were most affected by the pandemic, where more than 60% of entrepreneurs had a strong negative impact. Large businesses suffered less, but they also suffered significant losses due to declining business activity and demand in domestic and foreign markets. The pandemic had the least impact on agriculture, which suffered the least losses, primarily due to the slight impact of restrictions on this business's activities. The paper systematized the risks arising from the pandemic crisis factors and identified their manifestations and financial consequences for the business. Studies have shown that such effects manifest themselves in the form of total or partial loss of profits, problems with debt repayment, reduced financial stability, liquidity, increased receivables, increased costs of anti-epidemic measures, and so on. Thus, the procedure for assessing the business's financial security is to take into account all the factors that shape the financial position of businesses during a pandemic crisis.

Abstract:
In current business management, diversification strategy is often connected to the possibility of creating a competitive advantage, based mainly on a wide range of production benefits. One of the critical factors to initiate diversification is the increasing frequency of changes in a company’s environment, and also an increase in competitive pressure expressed by shortening a product’s life cycle. As a result, the advantages resulting from both vertical and horizontal process integration are reduced. Because there are usually more innovative ideas to widen a business’ activities than it would be normally possible to implement, it is essential to choose the ideas with the largest potential for commercial success. This article focuses on the design of classifiers that would enable the selection of designs for diversification, with the potential for commercial success.

Abstract:
This paper examines the impact of supply on production results in the shipbuilding industry. The shipbuilding industry is characterized by extreme complexity concerning the integration of many other industries, and the product of this industry itself is very complex and expensive with a demanding degree of processing after-sales significant revenue. Numerous suppliers are involved in the production process, thus shipbuilding has a multiplicative effect on other industries. One of the fundamental factors for the efficiency and effectiveness of the business in this industry is the role of logistics. Supply in the shipbuilding industry is nowadays a strategic decision that actively influences business success, which is why it is considered in this paper. Simulating its impact on the production process seeks to avoid possible mistakes that cannot only weaken a company's competitive position but also its viability. The simulation concludes with a concrete example that there is a certain influence of time deviations (arrivals, exemptions, and complaints) on the increase of the basic value of the order. This paper highlights the need to maximize response speed to customer needs, through the synthesis of planning activities, business logistics, and to maintain competitiveness in an increasingly demanding global market.

This study identified the motives and factors which affect women starting business activities. The analysis was based on the results of an internet poll conducted in December 2018 among 110 female entrepreneurs conducting individual business activity in towns of various sizes. Different types of services dominated among the businesses conducted by women (78%), whereas trade activities were conducted by 17% of women and production-oriented businesses were conducted by only 5%. A large portion of females (20%) conducted activities combining two or three industry branches. According to the study, women started their business activity for personal reasons rather than out of necessity. Their decisions were motivated mainly by the need to have an opportunity for professional self-development, self-fulfilment and independence. The main problems when starting and running their businesses were difficulties in acquiring external funds, excessive non-salary labour costs and a limited availability of crèches and kindergartens. Despite various barriers and obstacles in running their businesses, over 90% of females in the poll forecast a development in their activities or expansion to new markets by investing in technology, self-development, personnel training or by expanding their product range. The share of women planning to develop their businesses is increasing with growing experience and the length of time a business is run.

Global warming, climate change, reduction of natural resources, damage to biodiversity all increase poverty and unemployment, amongst other things. Environmental and social problems result from an unconscious lifestyle, excessive production and consumption activities. The starting point of sustainability originates from these environmental problems that have been increasing. Sustainable development means meeting the needs of today without endangering future generations and harming natural resources and attaches importance to environmental and social development as well as economic development. For businesses to survive, they need to consider all dimensions of sustainability. Banking is one sector that has come to the forefront in recent years regarding sustainable management. Although the banking sector does not directly affect the environment, it does have indirect effects. This study aims to examine the extent to which the six banks that signed the Responsible Banking Principles from Turkey pay attention to the dimensions of sustainability in their risk management activities announced on their websites. Although there are studies on sustainable banking or risk management in the literature, there is conceptual confusion when the analysis methods are examined. In this study, the author tries to clarify this issue. Results show that the six banks that signed the Responsible Banking Principles paid attention to the sustainability of the environmental and social aspects in their risk management activities

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the author’s approach to the formation of management indicators of market sustainability of modern business. The approach is focused on the classical understanding of the market mechanism, which has its own patterns at the current stage of management development, characterized by the high importance of social and ethical marketing, a set of technological costs in the field of production, sales, product promotion and beneficial impact to all community groups. In the course of the study, the resulting and factor indicators were considered: change in income and expenses, direct and indirect ratio of income and profit to process costs for production, sales of products, expenses for corporate social responsibility (strengthening of social well-being as a result of ongoing business activities). These relation-ships between changes in income and expenses were plotted through a combination of their various types (additive, multiplicative, multiple), which help to identify the degree of influence of each factor indicator (element of process costs for marketing activities) on the resulting indicators and take measures to maximize the result and minimize such costs using the computational-constructive method in its interaction with individual elements of mathematical analysis. The material is useful for entrepreneurs of all spheres and branches of activity, people employed in educational and scientific institutions, specializing in economic and management re-search and disciplines, and their students.

Abstract:
Sustainability of food production is a major concern today. This study assessed the environmental impact of fruit production and discussed business implications for sustainability. Data were collected from three agricultural enterprises growing six species of fruit, extending over a total of 34 hectares, and producing roughly one thousand tons of fruit per year. The results of the life-cycle assessment (LCA) showed that several production activities heavily impact the environment: in descending order of absolute terms, fruit refrigeration, agronomic operations, irrigation, and fertilizer use were recognized as the most impacting. Other activities, including agrochemical applications, planting, and plastic use for harvesting and packaging, showed overall lower impacts. The high environmental impact associated with most of the production activities emphasizes the need to make the primary food production cleaner, more resource-efficient, and less energy-intensive. Affordable incremental innovations able to reshape the way business is conducted in the context of primary food production are proposed, mainly relying on process rationalization and digital switchover. The analysis of the business path toward increased sustainability involves strategic issues, ranging from the reshaping of production processes to relationships with consumers, affecting value proposition, creation, and capture.

Abstract:
In the last decade, individual awareness of the impacts generated by the activities of businesses has increased more than ever. Consumers, employees and investors have begun to criticize business behaviors that negatively affect either society or the environment. Given this context, and relying on the literature relating to hybrid organizations and sustainable business models, our research aims to investigate how dual logic affects the business model of benefit corporations in the Italian film production industry. To capture the complexity of this type of firm, we adopted a qualitative research method, the case study approach. The case selected was ARE FILMS srl, a creative film production company. It has been a benefit corporation since it was founded. The study suggests that the capacity of hybrid businesses to achieve a hybrid mission is intrinsically embedded in their business model. A young film production benefit corporation is more likely to adopt a semi-integrated business model that does not create an external perception of dual corporate identity and does not affect economic sustainability. Moreover, the sustainable value proposition emerges even without the formal application of accepted protocols. Furthermore, we realized that the size of the firm affects business modelling. Finally, this research underlines the fact that benefit corporations do not require external pressure to implement sustainable practices.

Abstract:
The article summarizes the arguments and counter-arguments within the scientific discussion on financial security and business resilience to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The bibliometric analysis allowed to determine the appearance of terms in time and revealed the latest research topics. Systematization of literature sources and approaches to solving this problem showed that business in Ukraine and other countries had suffered significantly from introducing anti-epidemic restrictions, the need for which is recognized by the world community. The consequences of such measures were manifested in falling GDP, industrial production index, and declining investment activity at the state level. Unemployment has risen significantly, leading to an additional burden on the Compulsory State Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine in the event of unemployment. The negative effects of the pandemic crisis have also been reflected in the deterioration of businesses’ financial performance, especially in industry, transport, temporary accommodation and catering. In these types of economic activity, the share of unprofitable enterprises reaches 73%, which significantly undermines the financial security of Ukraine. The study aims to assess the impact of the pandemic crisis on business and analyze ways to mitigate such impacts, which should be used at the state level in Ukraine. The study’s methodological tools were the methods of scientific abstraction, comparative and systematic analysis and synthesis, systematization, and logical generalization. The study results showed that the pandemic had the greatest impact on small and medium-sized businesses, where more than 60% of entrepreneurs suffered losses or went bankrupt altogether. Big businesses have become more resilient, but they have also faced significant problems with a general decline in business activity, disruption of logistics processes, losses from employee illness and anti-epidemic measures. Analysis of the risks that arose in the business due to pandemic factors showed that they are manifested in a decrease in revenue and profit, deteriorating profitability, increased costs for storage of finished products and marketing activities. The study showed that in today’s economic environment, effective government support for business should be carried out to form an appropriate mechanism that uses the socio-economic potential of business entities and effectively allocates financial resources.

Recently, due to the global coronavirus pandemic infection caused by SARS-CoV-2 people were not able to meet their needs for obtaining positive impressions, emotions, memories by visiting global tourist places due to geosocial restrictions, which led to the establishment of new vectors of economic activity in the national market and the popularisation of Ukrainian experience services. The purpose of the study is to consider the experience services, not only as a mechanism of social and psychological rehabilitation of a person, but also as an alternative tool for the development of entrepreneurial activity in the field of entertainment. In order to obtain objective results in determining the essence of experience services and indicators that hinder its development in Ukraine, the study used system analysis and scientific generalisation. The paper also discusses the main directions of development of the market of experience services in the field of conservation. The study analyses destructive factors of an economic, organisational, regulatory, and administrative nature that can negatively affect the dynamics of development of the relevant service sector. The dual nature of mechanism for regulating economic and social relations in the experience economy was defined, namely: ordering public relations, the purpose of which is the creation and consumption of the final product of experience services by customers – obtaining emotions, impressions, experience (commodity market) and regulating processes aimed at implementing a set of measures, the tasks of which are the establishment of artificial circumstances, a scenario for a potential client to receive a product (impressions, emotions), for example, transportation, creating conditions for rapid movement from one location to another, etc. (market for the production of services). The service market for programming experience and the service market for delivering experience have been separated, which can become a vector of financial, organisational and investment development of both the protected industry and the separation of a separate area of business activity in the hospitality industry

Abstract:
In light of pedagogical innovation, this study reports a two-stage survey with 172 participants from English-major and non-English-major programs on their needs of production-oriented approach and perceptions of effective implementation strategies in business English courses at a Chinese university. The results of the study suggest that while the two student groups used different learning methods, both valued communication with native speakers. While the two groups had different needs in business English reading, writing, and speaking activities, they also preferred listening to business news broadcasts. The two groups liked learning in case studies and case-based methodology. Based on the needs, a production-oriented teaching procedure is designed. For teaching activities, the students preferred simulation and role-play. As to their favorite teaching and learning materials, English-majors mentioned English news reading and videos, whereas non-English-majors liked theme-based reading materials. For curriculum adaptation and post-course practice, they suggested using communicative activities and more recent cases. The majority of the groups considered the teaching activities, materials, and activities as effective. Based on the different needs and perceptions, effective and tailored implementation strategies for a production-oriented approach in business English courses for the two student groups at this Chinese university context are suggested. Informed by production-oriented pedagogical theories, the results of the study may have significant implications for business English teaching reform and theoretical development in Chinese universities as well as other cultural and education settings in further innovating and refining the teaching and learning process.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to study the key features of modern business processes and outsourcing. The subject-matter of the study is the methodological and conceptual foundations of the development process of modern business and outsourcing activities. Methodology. The research is based on a set of well-known general scientific and special methods of research in economics. In particular, the method of scientific abstraction, the method of systematic analysis, economic and mathematical modeling were used in the article. Conclusion. Many types of modern work can be outsourced. Thus, this will eventually lead to a confrontation between protected freelancers and freelancers whose employment is not regulated at the legislative level. The world is changing much faster, the labor market is undeniably affected when most jobs are simplified by technology; one of the consequences is a departure from the usual regulated labor relations and structures. The work environment and the environment are changing radically today. New forms of cooperation can take legal relations beyond legal regulation in those countries that fail to adapt their legislation in time to new rapidly evolving business strategies, which often lack the concept of territorial boundaries and mostly demand talent for effective solutions. With the help of constructed multifactor regression models, which are adequate to the available statistical and calculated data and have high degrees of significance of the estimated parameters, it is possible to predict changes in the simulated economic phenomenon as a result of changes in one or more factors. It should be noted that such models today are not sustainable in the long run, as in the Ukrainian and global economies, the external environment and its conditions change quite often. Therefore, in the future it is advisable to calculate new parameters of regression models based on the presented methods and make predictions according to the obtained data. In authors’ opinion, the main reason for the increase in the share of outsourcing in Europe in the coming years is the strengthening of competition in the world market and the growth of the euro. It is believed that traditionally vertically integrated business processes will be broken into fragments and partially outsourced. This will allow European companies to increase their revenues and production volumes.
