Abstract:
In order to improve based on financial shared services, enterprises can better promote the establishment, deepening, and optimal development of their own management accounting informatization. This paper introduces BPM system, analyzes the process perception accounting information system of business process management, and verifies that process perception can promote the research of accounting information system with the help of case analysis. Based on the problems, optimization scheme, and optimization effect of JKJT accounting informatization in a city, this paper makes a practical analysis and case analysis method. It is proposed that the four optimization effects of JKJT accounting informatization can be obtained by improving the authenticity and accuracy of subsystem business data, standardizing the division of personnel post rights and responsibilities, strictly implementing the system, changing the cost accounting method, and strengthening the training of management innovative accounting informatization talents and other optimization measures. Its main financial indicators show that the operating cost of JKJT in City A in 2019 was RMB 90.0309 million, a decrease of RMB 8.1781 million over 2020, a year-on-year decrease of 8.33%, mainly due to the establishment of financial sharing mode in 2019 and the strengthening of cost management and control of funds of branches by the finance department. At the same time, the acceptance measurement of the local project in City A is 57.0251 million yuan, because the project is operated locally, the financial service advantage is obvious, and the cost is relatively low. At the same time, by summarizing the application process of information management system, the in-depth analysis of information management system is realized. Information management system has strong efficiency in economic promotion. We should actively promote the application of the system to promote the improvement of economic construction level.

Abstract:
Users planning a trip to a given destination often search for the most appropriate points of interest location, this being a non-straightforward task as the range of information available is very large and not very well structured. The research presented by this paper introduces a context-aware tourism recommender system that overcomes the information overload problem by providing personalized recommendations based on the user’s preferences. It also incorporates contextual information to improve the recommendation process. As previous context-aware tourism recommender systems suffer from a lack of formal definition to represent contextual information and user’s preferences, the proposed system is enhanced using an ontology approach. We also apply a spreading activation technique to contextualize user preferences and learn the user profile dynamically according to the user’s feedback. The proposed method assigns more effect in the spreading process for nodes which their preference values are assigned directly by the user. The results show the overall performance of the proposed context-aware tourism recommender systems by an experimental application to the city of Tehran.

Recommender systems can assist with decision-making by delivering a list of item recommendations tailored to user preferences. Context-aware recommender systems additionally consider context information and adapt the recommendations to different situations. A process of context matching, therefore, enables the system to utilize rating profiles in the matched contexts to produce context-aware recommendations. However, it suffers from the sparsity problem since users may not rate items in various context situations. One of the major solutions to alleviate the sparsity issue is measuring the similarity of contexts and utilizing rating profiles with similar contexts to build the recommendation model. In this paper, we summarize the context-aware collaborative filtering methods using context similarity, and deliver an empirical comparison based on multiple context-aware data sets.

Healthcare is one of the largest business segments in the world and is a critical area for future growth. In order to ensure efficient access to medical and patient-related information, hospitals have invested heavily in improving clinical mobile technologies and spreading their use among doctors towards a more efficient and personalized delivery of care procedures. However, there are also indications that their use may have a negative impact on patient-centeredness and often places many cognitive and physical demands on doctors, making them prone to make medical errors. To tackle this issue, in this paper, we present the main outcomes of the project TESTMED, which aimed at realizing a clinical system that provides operational support to doctors using mobile technologies for delivering care to patients, in a bid to minimize medical errors. The system exploits concepts from Business Process Management (BPM) on how to manage a specific class of care procedures, called clinical guidelines, and how to support their execution and mobile orchestration among doctors. To allow a non-invasive interaction of doctors with the system, we leverage the use of touch and vocal user interfaces. A robust user evaluation performed in a real clinical case study shows the usability and effectiveness of the system.

AbstractRisk-aware Business Process Management (R-BPM) has been addressed in research since more than a decade. However, the integration of the two independent research streams is still ongoing with a lack of research focusing on the conceptual modeling perspective. Such an integration results in an increased meta-model complexity and a higher entry barrier for modelers in creating conceptual models and for addressees of the models in comprehending them. Multi-view modeling can reduce this complexity by providing multiple interdependent viewpoints that, all together, represent a complex system. Each viewpoint only covers those concepts that are necessary to separate the different concerns of stakeholders. However, adopting multi-view modeling discloses a number of challenges particularly related to managing consistency which is threatened by semantic and syntactic overlaps between the viewpoints. Moreover, usability and efficiency of multi-view modeling have never been systematically evaluated. This paper reports on the conceptualization, implementation, and empirical evaluation of e-BPRIM, a multi-view modeling extension of the Business Process-Risk Management-Integrated Method (BPRIM). The findings of our research contribute to theory by showing, that multi-view modeling outperforms diagram-oriented modeling by means of usability and efficiency of modeling, and quality of models. Moreover, the developed modeling tool is openly available, allowing its adoption and use in R-BPM practice. Eventually, the detailed presentation of the conceptualization serves as a blueprint for other researchers aiming to harness multi-view modeling.

Abstract In view of the imperfect process control, safety control and data control in substation maintenance operation, this paper proposes a full link intelligent control platform for substation maintenance operation based on edge-aware. The platform is composed of on-site edge-aware system and big data decision service system. The on-site edge-aware system uses various intelligent tools to collect data, carries out real-time safety behavior early warning, maintenance quality control and maintenance process supervision through edge computing technology, and uploads the analyzed and processed information to the big data decision service system. The big data decision service system provides support for online decision-making of substation equipment maintenance according to the panoramic multi-source information of the maintenance site provided by the site edge perception system. The full link intelligent control platform for substation maintenance operation has built a control system for real-time control of on-site maintenance operation process, on-site maintenance information and on-site maintenance safety information, which improves the management efficiency of substation maintenance on-site operation and enhances the safety guarantee of maintenance operation.

The future success of traffic management is contingent upon the advancement of information logistic systems. The ability to provide accurate, valid, and timely information is critical to the effectiveness of an intelligent transportation system’s ability to improve public safety and economic growth. Traffic Operation Centers (TOC) receive and disseminate information with various actors in real-time and near real-time environments. Using the traffic incident management business process for a Traffic Operation Center, this research explores the effects of designing a traffic management system in context to the business process. Two system designs for a TOC are compared using the system architecture maps and incident duration time stamps captured during the use of each system. The results show the impact of using process-oriented information logistics (POIL) during the design phase when developing traffic management systems.

Over the past decade, the ubiquity of business processes and their need for ongoing management in the same manner as other corporate assets has been recognized through the establishment of a dedicated research area: Business Process Management (or BPM). There are a wide range of potential software technologies on which a BPM o®ering can be founded. Although there is signi¯cant variation between these alternatives, they all share one common factor { their execution occurs on the basis of a business process model { and consequently, this ¯eld of technologies can be termed Process-Aware Information Systems (or PAIS). This thesis develops a conceptual foundation for PAIS based on the results of a detailed examination of contemporary o®erings including work°ow and case han- dling systems, business process modelling languages and web service composition languages. This foundation is based on 126 patterns that identify recurrent core constructs in the control-°ow, data and resource perspectives of PAIS. These patterns have been used to evaluate some of the leading systems and business process modelling languages. It also proposes a generic graphical language for de¯ning exception handling strategies that span these perspectives. On the basis of these insights, a comprehensive reference language { newYAWL { is developed for business process modelling and enactment. This language is formally de¯ned and an abstract syntax and operational semantics are provided for it. An assessment of its capabilities is provided through a comprehensive patterns-based analysis which allows direct comparison of its functionality with other PAIS. newYAWL serves as a reference language and many of the ideas embodied within it are also applicable to existing languages and systems. The ultimate goal of both the patterns and newYAWL is to improve the support and applicability of PAIS.

Configurable process models are integrated representations of multiple variants of a process model in a given domain, e.g. multiple variants of a shipment-to-delivery process in the logistics domain. Configurable process models provide a basis for managing variability and for enabling reuse of process models in Process-Aware Information Systems. Rather than designing process models from scratch, analysts can derive process models by configuring existing ones, thereby reusing proven practices. This thesis starts with the observation that existing approaches for capturing and managing configurable process models suffer from three shortcomings that affect their usability in practice. Firstly, configuration in existing approaches is performed manually and as such it is error-prone. In particular, analysts are left with the burden of ensuring the correctness of the individualized models. Secondly, existing approaches suffer from a lack of decision support for the selection of configuration alternatives. Consequently, stakeholders involved in the configuration of process models need to possess expertise both in the application domain and in the modeling language employed. This assumption represents an adoption obstacle in domains where users are unfamiliar with modeling notations. Finally, existing approaches for configurable process modeling are limited in scope to control-flow aspects, ignoring other equally important aspects of process models such as object flow and resource management. Following a design science research method, this thesis addresses the above shortcomings by proposing an integrated framework to manage the configuration of process models. The framework is grounded on three original and interrelated contributions: (i) a conceptual foundation for correctness-preserving configuration of process models; (ii) a questionnaire-driven approach for process model configuration, providing decision support and abstraction from modeling notations; (iii) a meta-model for configurable process models covering control-flow, data objects and resources. This research contributes a fully-operational approach for managing business process risk in near real-time. The approach consists of a language for defining risks on top of process models, a technique to detect such risks as they eventuate during the execution of business processes, a recommender system for making risk-informed decisions, and a technique to automatically mitigate the detected risks when they are no longer tolerable. Through the incorporation of risk management elements in all stages of the lifecycle of business processes, this work contributes to the effective integration of the fields of Business Process Management and Risk Management.

[EN] The increasing adoption of process-aware information systems (PAISs) together with the high variability in business processes has resulted in collections of process families. These families correspond to a business process model and its variants, which can comprise hundreds or thousands of different ways of realizing this process. Modeling and managing process variability in this context can be very challenging due to the size of these families. Motivated by this challenge, several approaches enabling process variability have been developed. However, with these approaches PAIS engineers usually are required to model and manage one by one all the elements of a process family and ensure its correctness by their own. This can be tedious and error-prone especially when a process family comprises hundreds or thousands of process variants. For example, variability may not be properly reflected since PAIS engineers need to be aware of each variation of each process variant. Thus, there is a need of methods that allow PAIS engineers to model process variability more explicitly, especially at a level of abstraction higher than the one provided by the existing process variability approaches. However, how process variability is represented in existing approaches becomes critical for these methods (e.g., what language constructs are used to model process variability). In this context, the use of modeling patterns (reusable solutions to a commonly occurring problem) is a promising way to address these issues. For example, patterns have been proved as an efficient solution to model individual business processes. The objective of this thesis is to enhance the modeling of variability in process families through change patterns. First, we conduct a systematic study to analyze existing process variability approaches regarding their expressiveness with respect to process variability modeling as well as their process support. Thus, we can identify how process variability is actually modeled by existing approaches (i.e., a core set of variability-specific language constructs). In addition, based on the obtained empirical evidence, we derive the VIVACE framework, a complete characterization of process variability which comprises also a core set of features fostering process variability. VIVACE enables PAIS engineers to evaluate existing process variability approaches as well as to select that variability approach meeting their requirements best. In addition, it helps process engineers in dealing with PAISs supporting process variability. Second, to facilitate variability modeling in process families, based on the identified language constructs, we present a set of 10 change patterns and show how they can be implemented in a process variability approach. In particular, these patterns support process family modeling and evolution and are able to ensure process family correctness. In order to prove their effectiveness and analyze their suitability, we applied these change patterns in a real scenario. More concretely, we conduct a case study with a safety standard with a high degree of variability. The case study results show that the application of the change patterns can reduce the effort for process family modeling in a 34% and for evolution in a 40%. In addition, we have analyzed how PAIS engineers apply the patterns and their perceptions of this application. Most of them expressed some benefit when applying the change patterns, did not perceived an increase of mental effort for applying the patterns, and agreed upon the usefulness and ease of use of the patterns.
[ES] La creciente adopción de sistemas de información dirigidos por procesos de negocio (PAIS) junto con la alta variabilidad en dichos procesos, han dado lugar a la aparición de colecciones de familias de procesos. Estas familias están constituidas por un modelo de proceso de negocio y sus variantes, las cuales pueden comprender entre cientos y miles de diferentes formas de llevar a cabo ese proceso. Gestionar la variabilidad en este contexto puede resultar muy difícil dado el tamaño que estas familias pueden alcanzar. Motivados por este desafío, se han desarrollado varias soluciones que permiten la gestión de la variabilidad en los procesos de negocio. Sin embargo, con estas soluciones los ingenieros deben crear y gestionar uno por uno todos los elementos de las familias de procesos y asegurar ellos mismos su corrección. Esto puede resultar tedioso y propenso a errores especialmente cuando las familias están compuestas de miles de variantes. Por ejemplo, la variabilidad puede no quedar adecuadamente representada ya que los ingenieros deben ser conscientes de todas y cada una de las variaciones de todas las variantes. Así, son necesarios nuevos métodos que permitan modelar la variabilidad de los procesos de una manera más explícita, a un nivel de abstracción más alto del proporcionado por las soluciones actuales. Sin embargo, cómo se representa la variabilidad en estos métodos resulta crítico (ej.: qué primitivas se utilizan). En este contexto, el uso de patrones de modelado (soluciones reutilizables a un problema recurrente) resultan un camino prometedor. Por ejemplo, los patrones han sido probados como una solución eficaz para gestionar procesos de negocio individuales. El objetivo de esta tesis es mejorar el modelado de la variabilidad en las familias de procesos a través del uso de patrones de cambio. En primer lugar, hemos llevado a cabo un estudio sistemático con el fin de analizar las soluciones existentes que permiten gestionar la variabilidad en los procesos, así como el soporte que estas proporcionan. Así, hemos sido capaces de identificar y analizar cuál es el conjunto básico de primitivas específicas para representar la variabilidad. Además, basándonos en la evidencia empírica obtenida, hemos derivado el marco de evaluación VIVACE, el cual recoge las primitivas de variabilidad y un conjunto básico de características que favorecen la variabilidad en los procesos. El principal objetivo de VIVACE es conformar una completa caracterización de la variabilidad en los procesos de negocio. Asimismo, VIVACE permite evaluar las soluciones que gestionan la variabilidad en los procesos, así como seleccionar la solución que se ajuste mejor a sus necesidades. Finalmente, VIVACE puede ayudar a los ingenieros a gestionar PAISs con variabilidad. En segundo lugar, para facilitar el modelado de la variabilidad en las familias de procesos, basándonos en las primitivas identificadas, hemos definido un conjunto de 10 patrones de cambio y hemos mostrado cómo estos patrones pueden ser implementados. En particular, estos patrones ayudan al modelado y la evolución de familias de procesos y son capaces de garantizar la corrección de la propia familia. Para probar su efectividad y analizar su idoneidad, hemos aplicado estos patrones de cambio en un escenario real. En concreto, hemos llevado a cabo un caso de estudio con un estándar de seguridad con un alto nivel de variabilidad. Los resultados de este caso demuestran que la aplicación de nuestros patrones de cambio puede reducir el esfuerzo para el modelado de familias de procesos en un 34% y para la evolución de esos modelos en un 40%. Además, hemos analizado cómo los ingenieros aplican los patrones y cuáles son sus percepciones de esta aplicación. Como resultado, la mayoría de ellos encontró beneficios al aplicar los patrones. [CAT] La creixent adopció de sistemes d'informació dirigits per processos de negoci (PAIS) junt amb l'alta variabilitat en eixos processos, han donat lloc a la aparició de col·leccions de famílies de processos. Estes famílies es formen de un model de procés de negoci i les seues variants, les quals poden comprendre entre cents i milers de diferents formes de dur a terme eixe procés. Modelar la variabilitat dels processos en este context pot resultar molt difícil donat la grandària que aquestes famílies poden aconseguir. Motivats per este desafiament, s'han desenvolupat diverses solucions que permeten la gestió de la variabilitat en els processos de negoci. No obstant, amb aquestes solucions els enginyers que treballen amb PAIS han de crear i gestionar un a un tots els elements de les famílies de processos i assegurar ells mateixos la seua correcció. Això pot resultar tediós i propens a errors especialment quan les famílies es componen de cents o milers de variants. Per exemple, la variabilitat pot no quedar adequadament representada ja que els enginyers han de ser conscients de totes i cadascuna una de les variacions de totes les variants. Per quest motiu, son necessaris nous mètodes que permeten als enginyers de PAIS modelar la variabilitat dels processos de manera més explícita, sobretot a un nivell d'abstracció més alt del proporcionat per les solucions actuals. No obstant, com es representa la variabilitat en aquestos mètodes resulta crític (ex.: quines primitives s'utilitzen per a modelar la variabilitat en els processos). En aquest context, l'ús de patrons de modelatge (solucions reutilitzables a un problema recurrent) resulten un camí prometedor. Per exemple, els patrons han sigut provats com una solució eficaç per modelar i gestionar processos de negoci individuals. L'objectiu d'aquesta tesi 'es millorar el modelatge de la variabilitat en les famílies de processos a través de l'ús de patrons de canvi. En primer lloc, hem dut a terme un estudi sistemàtic per a analitzar les solucions existents per a gestionar la variabilitat en els processos, així com el suport que aquestes proporcionen. D'aquesta manera, som capaços d'identificar i analitzar quin 'es el conjunt bàsic de primitives específiques per a representar la variabilitat. A més, basant-nos en l'evidència empírica obtinguda, hem derivat el marc d'evacuació VIVACE, el qual arreplega les primitives de variabilitat i un conjunt bàsic de característiques que afavoreixen la variabilitat en els processos. Així mateix, VIVACE permet als enginyers de PAIS avaluar les solucions per a gestionar la variabilitat en els processos, així com seleccionar la solució que s'ajusta millor a les seues necessitats. Finalment, VIVACE també pot ajudar als enginyers a gestionar PAISs que donen suport a aquesta variabilitat. En segon lloc, per a facilitar el modelatge de la variabilitat en les famílies de processos, basant-nos en les primitives identificades, hem definit un conjunt de 10 patrons de canvi i hem mostrat com aquestos poden ser implementats. En particular, estos patrons ajuden al modelatge i l'evolució de famílies de processos i garanteixen la correcció de la pròpia família. Per a provar la seua efectivitat i analitzar la seua idoneïtat, hem aplicat els patrons de canvi en un escenari real. En particular, hem dut a terme un cas d'estudi amb un estàndard de seguretat amb un alt nivell de variabilitat. Els resultats de aquest cas demostren que l'aplicació dels nostres patrons de canvi poden reduir l'esforç per al modelatge de famílies de processos en un 34% i per a l'evolució de eixos models en un 40%. A més, hem analitzat com els enginyers de PAIS apliquen els patrons i quines son les seues percepcions d'esta aplicació. Abstract:
Enabling deterministic dynamic process relocation in electronic systems creates opportunities for dynamic computational load balancing, fault tolerance, power consumption management, which can be positively correlated with improvements in longevity, safety and energy-efficiency. Additionally, dynamic process relocation can be leveraged to enhance the adaptability of mixed-critical systems operating in open and changeable environments, which is a current market driver for safety-concerned industries like avionics, automotive and railways. Future electronic systems in such industries are envisioned to comprise networked heterogeneous multiprocessor chips that execute applications with different criticality levels. With such setting, it is not clear from the literature how dynamic process relocation (DPR) can be implemented in a way that does not compromise predictability concerns of safety-critical functionalities in such mixed-critical system. In this work, a design and implementation framework is demonstrated that takes a list of inputs that satisfy DPR design constraints and exploits DPR design primitives, protocol and design flow to produce the required implementation. The design inputs include application communication graph, application to platform mapping, process criticality levels and DPR scenarios. The implementation is demonstrated on a system of two printed circuit boards, each containing monolithic heterogeneous dual-core ARM cortex A9 processor networked with Microblaze soft-processors via a mesh-topology time-triggered Nostrum network-on-chip (NoC). The work shows promising predictable adaptability suitable for mixed-critical systems and could lead to improved service efficiency and availability.

Dessutom kan dynamisk processflyttning utnyttjas föratt förbättra anpassningsförmågan av mixed-critical system i öppna ochföränderliga miljöer, vilket är en nuvarande marknadskrav inom säkerhetsrelaterade teknikområden såsom flygelektronik, fordonsindustrin och järnvägar. Framtida elektroniska system i sådana industrier förväntas bestå av nätverk av heterogena multiprocessorchips som kör program med olika säkerhetskritiska nivåer. Det framgår det inte av litteraturen hur dynamisk processflyttning (DPR) i ett sådant scenario kan genomföras på ett säkert sätt och inte samtidigt inte äventyrar förutsägbarheten av säkerhetskritiska funktionaliteter. Denna rapport demonstrerar upp ett fungerande designflöde, vilket utgår från en lista av input som uppfyller DPR-design begränsningar och utnyttjar DPR design primitiv, protokoll och designflöde för implementeringen. Dessa design inputs inkluderar applikations och kommunikationsgrafer, applikation till plattformsmappning, processkritiska nivåer och DPRscenarier. Implementeringen demonstreras på ett system bestående av två kretskort /PCB:er, som vardera innehåller en FPGA med en heterogen design bestående av en ARM-cortex dual-core A9-processor, vilken är ansluten till 3 st mjuka processorer av Microblaze typ, via ett tids-triggad Network-on-chip (NoC) av Nostrum Mesh topologi typ. Nas últimas duas décadas, a literatura em gestão empresarial tem demonstrado um interesse crescente no tema da incerteza e os meios utilizados pelas organizações para lidar com ela. Há um consenso entre os pesquisadores atualmente de que as organizações precisam estar constantemente mudando e adaptando as suas operações e estratégias para atender a novos requisitos econômicos e de mercado. A capacidade de uma empresa de mudar rapidamente as suas metas e estratégias e de reconfigurar rapidamente as suas operações é chamada de “flexibilidade estratégica”. Essa capacidade tem sido identificada como um fator crítico para o sucesso das organizações de hoje. Contudo, o apoio da tecnologia da informação à flexibilidade estratégica tem sido limitado. Na maioria das organizações, há ainda uma grande lacuna que separa as atividades de planejamento estratégico das atividades de desenvolvimento de sistemas. Isso reduz a agilidade da companhia em responder a novas necessidades do mercado. Um estudo da literatura em gestão mostra que as necessidades atuais de gerentes em ambientes incertos e mutáveis não tem sido satisfeitas pelos sistemas de apoio à gestão disponíveis hoje. Nesta tese, nós propomos um mecanismo para tornar sistemas da informação “conscientes da estratégia”. Essa consciência estratégica é definida como uma funcionalidade que permite a atualização rápida das funções do sistema em resposta a mudanças estratégicas. Essa funcionalidade também aumenta a capacidade de alinhamento estratégico e monitoramento de desempenho da organização. Mais especificamente, nós propomos uma arquitetura de software que permite que os usuários de um sistema se tornem mais conscientes das necessidades estratégicas da companhia durante a realização do seu trabalho. Nosso foco nesse trabalho é na gestão de processos de negócio e o conceito que nós desenvolvemos é chamado de Gestão de Processos de Negócio Consciente de Estratégia (Strategy-Aware Business Process Management - SA-BPM). A consciência estratégica é obtida por meio de uma infraestrutura modular que muda o comportamento do sistema de gestão de processos em tempo real. O sistema passa a ser capaz de capturar informações derivadas diretamente dos sistemas de apoio à decisão da organização (ex.: sistema de planejamento estratégico). Por meio desse instrumento, as organizações podem desenvolver a capacidade de realizar mudanças frequentes nas suas estratégias e de tornar essas mudanças operacionais de maneira rápida, contribuindo assim para a sua flexibilidade estratégica.
Over the past two decades, management research has demonstrated a growing interest in the subject of uncertainty and in the means employed by organizations to cope with it. There is a consensus among researchers nowadays that organizations must be constantly changing and adapting their operations and strategies to match new market and economic requirements. The ability of a firm to rapidly change its goals and strategies and to readily reconfigure its operations is called “strategic flexibility”. Such ability is being identified as a critical success factor for contemporary organizations. Nevertheless, information technology support for strategic flexibility has been limited. In most organizations, there is still a large gap that separates strategic planning activities from information systems development activities. This reduces the agility of the company to respond to new market necessities. A study of the management literature demonstrates that current requirements of managers in uncertain and changing environments have not been fulfilled by the management support systems available today. In this thesis, we propose a mechanism to make information systems “strategy-aware”. Such strategy awareness is defined as a feature that allows for the rapid update of a system’s functions in response to strategic changes. This feature also improves an organization’s capacity for strategic alignment and performance monitoring. More specifically, we propose a software architecture that makes information system’s users become aware of the company’s strategic necessities while performing their job. Our focus in this work is on business process management and the concept developed by us is called Strategy-Aware Business Process Management (SA-BPM). The strategy awareness is achieved through a modular adaptation infrastructure that changes the behavior of the business process management system at run-time. The system becomes able to capture information derived directly from the organization’s management support systems (e.g., its strategic planning systems). Through our framework, organizations can develop the capacity to make frequent changes to their strategies and to rapidly make these changes operational, contributing to the improvement of their strategic flexibility.

AbstractThis chapter summarizes the work and explains its significance by considering the contributions and its applicability. Because of its practical setting, the approach is applicable to a range of practical applications. For example, it could recommend who shall perform which tasks in a so-called break-glass situation, or act as a delegation assistant to suggest potential best delegates (with fewest violations) to the delegator. A corresponding process-aware information system could automate these delegations and provide additional mitigating techniques to prioritize audits of affected cases. Moreover, the graphical view of obstruction analysis could help policy designers to deepen their understanding of security policies and to improve their own security policies. The chapter concludes with extensions that could be envisaged.

An emotion-aware method KALEIDOSCOPE is presented in the paper. It consists of a visualization approach, a method for information transfer-by-sense and applied approaches to maintain a natural-style dialog. The combination is purposed to provoke and keep positive emotions in the user and to maintain his interest in the problem. The main goal of this paper is to show how different machine-done visualized patterns lead to student’s perceptions that can’t be represented or estimated by the machine and how this is helpful during the educational process. It is shown that dynamic information presentations are superior to static ones. Original evolving (dynamic) ontology applications have been introduced. It is shown that the creation and maintenance of such ontologies may be a rather complicated process. Essential principles of an educational process using KALEIDOSCOPE method are introduced. It is shown that high quality education systems are far away from monotonic presentation forms, and that they are rather close to contemporary research systems. Both education and research systems use a clear and thoroughly understandable dialog depending on user’s knowledge level. The considered education system is an active part of the human-computer dialog process. Instead of trying to estimate the user’s emotions we apply a set of logical data mining methods aiming at making the human-computed interaction emotion-aware. The educational part of the system is domain independent. Aiming to show domain independent approaches, the examples are introduced from Number Theory to language expressions and nonclassical logic applications. Applications are presented in the domain of Number Theory and IT information security systems.

Identifying potential victims to avoid alert people who are not in danger is an open challenge to crisis communications systems. In an emergency situation alerting individuals out of danger can overload dissemination systems and lead to loss of system credibility because people can be overwhelmed with irrelevant information. This paper aims to investigate how to improve the message dissemination process in crisis communication by using context-aware computing concepts. We propose a system to identify potential victims and define a strategy with a better way to contact them. For evaluation we performed two case studies with real emergency messages. Finally, we discuss ways to identify potential victims of emergency situations.

Abstract:
In design, manufacturing and usage of technical products uncertainty arises according to process properties and results in influence of products properties. In current CAD-systems, where products and product properties are presented, uncertainty is not considered yet. In this paper, we propose a new enhanced concept for the visualization of information about uncertainty in CAD-systems. The presentation of uncertainty is realized on basis of three-dimensional parametric models in a CAD-system and an implemented uncertainty-browser. The uncertainty-browser acts as a graphical user interface to categorize information about uncertainty, the processes and product properties. Beyond that, information about uncertainty will be visualized as annotations referring to chosen properties. Being aware of information about uncertainty during product design, the engineer is able to improve his product. The representation of uncertainty is based on an ontology based information system for supporting the collection and categorization of information about processes, products and uncertainty.
