The article presents the main problems related to cyberbullying in a peer group: manifestations, forms, sources, mechanisms and consequences of cyberbullying. The author puts forward a thesis about the close connection between traditional violence and aggression and cyberbullying, while pointing out that the new media are not an independent source of threat to the development of the young generation. Recalling studies confirming this thesis, she concludes that new media are a threat to the development of youth (as they canfacilitate cyberbullying), if there are primary factors conditioning the traditional forms of peer violence and aggression.

La ricerca analizza le metodologie e le sperimentazioni portate avanti nel Dottorato di Ricerca in Architettura, conseguito dall’autore nel 2021 presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze riguardante “La ricerca visuale per l’implementazione delle metodologie qualitative negli strumenti della pianifi cazione.Il caso del margine urbano tra città e carcere”. Lo stato dell’arte mostra che l’integrazione di metodologie qualitative nella pianifi cazione urbana e territoriale risulta effi cace per una rappresentazione più completa delle dinamiche complesse all’interno dei luoghi. Si mettono in discussione gli approcci analitici tradizionali, basati su visioni zenitali e rappresentazioni normative che denotano invarianza e fi ssità dei contesti. Le metodologie qualitative di indagine visuale sono più radicate all’interno di etnografi a e sociologia e risultano effi caci nel raccontare persone e luoghi, aumentando il pluralismo dei soggetti coinvolti e documentando effi cacemente la percezione delle componenti immateriali.Obiettivo è dimostrare la possibilità di costruire i problemi in maniera più plausibile per andare verso progettualità più efficaci.Si esplora il campo cruciale della marginalità urbana e il rapporto tra strutture carcerarie e città, problema di attualità perché le scelte operate in ambito governativo spesso non dialogano positivamente con la pianifi cazione della città e del territorio: localizzazioni penalizzanti delle nuove strutture rispetto alle città di riferimento, alti costi realizzativi, scarsa qualità progettuale. Attraversole narrazioni dei luoghi e dei soggetti coinvolti si prova a far emergere la complessità del contesto, per indirizzare verso una pianifi cazione più efficace.La generalizzazione dei risultati potrà contribuire al consolidamento delle metodologie interdisciplinari per la lettura effi cace del problema di pianifi cazione.

The article presents the main problems related to the formation of the identity/personality of young people. The author puts forward a thesis about the close connection between on-line and off-line personalities, while pointing out that the new media constitute an autonomous source of threat to the development of the young generation. She indicates that this is due to both: the dark side of the virtual personality and its domination in the proces of becoming a person. She recalls several studies (E. Aboujaoude, M. Spitzer, G. Small, G. Vorgan) confirming thesis about the different significance (positive or negative) of the Internet/new media for the personality development. In the final conclusion, she points to the need to reflectively control their influence on the development of young people’s personality.

Problematic use of the Internet (PUI) generally refers to use of different types of Internet content which is not under control and leads to difficulties in everyday functioning. It involves generalised PUI but also specific forms such as problematic use of videogames, social media, and pornography. The main aim of this paper is to offer a basic review of current trends in defining, measurement and research of PUI. The review of available papers points at methodological problems related to determining the prevalence of PUI, and insufficient direct investigation of postulates of existing models regarding the onset and maintenance of PUI. Moreover, this paper offers a critical review of existing instruments for measuring PUI and its specific forms, and recommends the most appropriate instruments. A short review of PUI research methodology and important findings is given. Finally, guidelines for future research in this area are provided, which enable us to investigate these phenomena of contemporary society in a comprehensive and sound way.

Parental burnout is a syndrome characterised by exhaustion in parenting as a result of permanent exposure to chronic parental stress. This syndrome manifests in emotional distancing from one's children with loss of pleasure and fulfilment in one's parental role and doubts about the ability to be a good parent. The main goal was to examine the contribution of sociodemographic variables (gender and age of parents, education, work status and financial status of the family), personal characteristics of parents (emotional (in)stability and perfectionism in parenting), dimensions of parental behaviour (parental support, permissiveness and restrictive control) and personal characteristics of the target child (gender, age, strengths and difficulties of the child) in explaining parental burnout. A total of 490 parents (90% mothers) participated in the research, with the average age of 40 (M = 40,04; SD = 5,63). The results of HRA show that the most significant predictors of parental burnout are parental characteristics (higher emotional instability and perfectionistic concerns), parental behaviour (low parental support) and child characteristics (younger age of the child, higher level of internalised and externalised problems). The emotional (in)stability of parents is the most significant predictor of parental burnout in the parental role.

The research aims to determine the level of difficulty and differentiation of the exam on the middle semester of the subjects of the Physics class XI MIA 3 in MAN 2 Langsa. The research method used is a descriptive quantitative method. The results showed that for the difficulty level was obtained 13 questions (43.33%) Easy, 17 questions (56.66%) Medium and 0 problem (0%) Difficult. The results of the analysis of the differentiator power about 10 questions (33.33%) Received, 16 questions (53.33%) Discarded and 4 questions (13.33%) Fixed. Overall about the middle semester exam of physics subjects in class XI MIA 3 in MAN 2 Langsa year 2018/2019 is categorized as a good question, because it has the largest percentage of difficulty level in the category of moderate problems, namely as many as 17 questions (56.66%) And the largest percentage of the differentiator's power in the category of questions received 10 questions (33.33%).

Today, women political participation is still low in number. It causes the shortness of women representation in policy and decision making. In fact, the representation of women has not been heard fully in the public space. Many women's voices have not been conveyed. This article examined woman’s political participation and communication in the political area in Indonesia. The main problems of this research were why the participation of women in politics in formal institutions relatively low and how the communication role in that matter. This research used descriptive qualitative method by interviewing 18 women politicians in legislative on June 26th until July 4th online. The research findings show the lack of women participation as the representative. The low representation of women in direct political participation was influenced by various internal and external factors. They included women’s unwillingness to plunge directly into the world of practical politics, patriarchy cultural factors, and incapability of women to solve lots of real-problems. It is why we still need the right step to create equality and access to women in the political scope.

In the Mathematics curriculum, the subject of circles is considered one of the challenging topics for students. Many students struggle with the application in daily life. One effort to address this is by implementing the Problem-Based Learning model in learning process. The aim of this study is to determine the learning outcomes of students through the Problem-Based Learning model, specifically in the subject of circles. This type of research is experimental. The learning outcome obtained through the Problem-Based Learning model wascompared to the mathematics KKM (Minimum Graduation Standard) score in the school, which was 80. The population in this research was all sixth-grade students of MIN 9 Banda Aceh, and the sample was 25 sixth-grade students randomly selected. The instrument used in this research was a test. Based on the evaluation results at the last meeting, the average student score was 87,1 with a standard deviation of 8,30. In the hypothesis testing, a right-sided t-test was used, with a significant level of α = 0,05. The calculation results showed that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model in the circle subjectin the sixth grade of MIN 9 Banda Aceh exceeds the KKM.

La presente tesi ha come oggetto due problemi della filosofia di John Searle, entrambi definibili come problemi del fondamento. Il primo è il problema del fondamento vero e proprio, e cioè il problema del tentativo di Searle di ancorare la mente umana (con la sua irriducibilità ontologica) alla realtà fisica e naturale, attraverso un’inedita soluzione del problema mente-corpo che prende il nome di naturalismo biologico. Il secondo è, invece, il problema del fondamento della realtà sociale, e cioè il problema del tentativo di Searle di collocare tanto l’origine ontologica quanto il principio esplicativo della realtà sociale e istituzionale dentro la coscienza (ogni singola coscienza) e, in particolare, nell’intenzionalità collettiva. In questo senso, la presente tesi ha lo scopo di mostrare che i tentativi di Searle non sembrano essere andati del tutto a buon fine. Per quanto riguarda il primo – e cioè il problema del fondamento vero e proprio – si cercherà di mostrare che a) il naturalismo biologico sembra essere fondato su una metafisica a livelli non adeguatamente sviluppata per sorreggerlo e giustificarlo, e che, di conseguenza, b) il naturalismo biologico non sembra essere quella soluzione semplice al problema mente-corpo che pretende di essere. Per quanto riguarda il secondo – e cioè il problema del fondamento della realtà sociale – si cercherà di mostrare che a) il costruttivismo sociale di Searle sembra sfociare in una forma di solipsismo apparentemente incompatibile con qualsiasi concetto di intenzionalità collettiva, ma che, ciononostante, b) sembra esserci una soluzione per questo problema non solo interna alla filosofia della mente di Searle, ma anche in grado di svilupparne le potenzialità inespresse.

Ogni azienda che si riconosca socialmente responsabile deve occuparsi dello sviluppo delle carriere dei propri dipendenti da due punti di vista: quello individuale e personale e quello professionale. La carriera all’interno di un’azienda coinvolge, infatti, la persona in quanto individuo con un proprio carattere e una precisa identità e la persona in quanto lavoratore con un bagaglio specifico di conoscenze e competenze.
L’azienda ha, quindi, il compito di promuovere carriere professionalmente stimolanti che si sviluppino in linea con i suoi stessi valori, la sua visione e la sua missione.
Nel panorama moderno, aziende che sviluppano la propria idea di business nel rispetto dei lavoratori proponendo loro un percorso di crescita, si mostrano senza dubbio lungimiranti.
Un tale approccio, però, non basta a far sì che vengano definite socialmente responsabili. I fattori della Responsabilità Sociale d’Impresa sono infatti numerosi e, ad oggi, uno dei problemi principali da affrontare è quello del progressivo invecchiamento della popolazione. Dal momento che la forza lavoro mondiale sta invecchiando e che si sta rispondendo al problema spostando la linea del pensionamento, tutte le aziende sono obbligate a mantenere le persone il più a lungo possibile attive e motivate a lavoro.
L’età è spesso visto come un fattore di diversità e di discriminazione, ma nello sviluppare la mia argomentazione, cercherò di dimostrare che una politica del lavoro che supporti l’idea dell’invecchiamento attivo può trasformare questo fattore da limite in opportunità.
Il rispetto degli esseri umani, a prescindere dalle differenze legate all’età, dovrebbe essere uno dei valori fondanti di ogni impresa.
Nel primo capitolo della tesi, svilupperò il tema della dignità umana così come è stato concepito a partire dalla filosofia greca fino alla modernità. La dignità intesa come valore ontologico, legato all’essenza dell’uomo, diventerà con Kant il fattore di uguaglianza tra tutti gli esseri viventi, la giustificazione del rispetto reciproco.
Il concetto di dignità verrà, poi, definito nel secondo capitolo come il principale valore che deve ispirare l’azione sociale delle imprese, come l’elemento che garantisce il rispetto di ogni dipendente che prima ancora di essere un lavoratore è un essere umano. La dignità è ciò che rende l’essere umano degno di essere considerato un fine in se stesso piuttosto che un mezzo per il raggiungimento di un fine esterno.
Nell’era della globalizzazione, dove il denaro è il valore principale, gli esseri umani rischiano di diventare un mezzo al servizio dell’economia. A questo punto, il rispetto della dignità deve divenire il fondamento di un ambiente di lavoro che promuove la crescita e la fioritura dell’essere umano.
Nel secondo capitolo cercherò quindi di dimostrare come l’idea di dignità possa promuovere un management “umanistico” centrato sul rispetto dell’essere umano.
Un’impresa socialmente responsabile può promuovere il rispetto di ogni lavoratore se fa propri i valori di dignità e uguaglianza. Attraverso la teoria dello Humanistic Management che veicola tali valori, il lavoro diventa un luogo in cui l’uomo può esprimere se stesso, la sua identità, le sue conoscenze e competenze. Inoltre, dal momento che la popolazione sta invecchiando, le aziende devono farsi carico della forza lavoro più anziana, come è emerso sopra.
A questo punto, nel terzo capitolo, il concetto della Responsabilità Sociale d’Impresa sarà analizzato nel suo legame con i temi dell’invecchiamento attivo e della diversità sul posto di lavoro. Conosciamo diverse ragioni di differenza a lavoro: genere, cultura, etnia, competenze, ma qui ci concentreremo sul fattore età.
È naturale che i lavoratori anziani abbiano un’idea di lavoro diversa da quella dei giovani e che le loro abilità siano differenti. Ma questa diversità non deve essere valutata come migliore o peggiore: essa dipende da fattori che analizzeremo e che l’impresa socialmente responsabile conosce e valorizza per creare un ambiente di lavoro stimolante e collaborativo, eliminando possibili conflitti intergenerazionali.
Alcune delle teorie che permettono di raggiungere tali obiettivi sono il Diversity Management e l’Age Management: ogni impresa può promuovere pratiche per valorizzare gli anziani, permettendo loro di rimanere più a lungo attivi e proattivi a lavoro e di condividere le proprie conoscenze e competenze.
L’ultimo capitolo della tesi si concentrerà su un caso di azienda italiana che ha sviluppato uno strumento di valorizzazione di collaboratori over 65.
Sto parlando della Loccioni, presso cui ho svolto la ricerca applicata e che promuove il progetto Silverzone, un network di persone in pensione che hanno conosciuto l’azienda nel corso della loro carriera e che continuano a collaborare con essa ancora dopo il pensionamento.
Per capire l’impatto qualitativo e quantitativo che il progetto ha sull’azienda, ho portato avanti un’analisi qualitativa dei dati ottenuti grazie a due tipi di questionari.
Il primo ha visto il coinvolgimento dei 16 managers della Loccioni a cui sono state sottoposte le seguenti domande:
1. Chi sono i silver nella tua area di business? Quali i progetti in cui essi sono coinvolti?
2. Qual è il valore del loro supporto per l’azienda? E, allo stesso tempo, quali sono le difficoltà che possono incontrarsi durante queste collaborazioni?
3. Qual è la frequenza degli incontri con i silver?
4. Perché l’azienda ha bisogno di questo network?
Successivamente, ho sottoposto un altro questionario agli 81 silver della rete. Di seguito i dettagli:
1. Qual è il tuo nome?
2. Dove sei nato?
3. Dove vivi?
4. Qual è stato il tuo percorso formativo?
5. Qual è stata la tua carriera professionale?
6. Come e con chi è avvenuto il primo contatto Loccioni?

8. Con quali dei collaboratori Loccioni stai lavorando?
9. In quali progetti sei coinvolto?
10. Potresti descrivere il progetto in tre parole?
11. Che significato ha per te fare parte di questa rete?
12. Nella tua opinione, come deve essere il Silver?
13. Che tipo di relazioni hai con i collaboratori Loccioni?
14. Quali dimensioni umane (dono, relazione, comunità, rispetto) e professionali (innovazione, tecnologia, rete) emergono lavorando in questo progetto?
Il progetto Silverzone è sicuramente una buona pratica di Age Management per mantenere più a lungo attivi i lavoratori over 65. I progetti in cui i Silver sono coinvolti hanno un importante impatto economico sull’impresa, in termini di investimento ma anche di guadagno. Ad ogni modo, qui la necessità di fare profitto, stando a quanto è emerso dai risultati delle interviste, è subordinata al più alto valore del rispetto dei bisogni umani che diventa garante di un posto di lavoro comfortable, dove si riesce a stringere relazioni piacevoli, collaborative e produttive.

Il mio lavoro di ricerca rappresenta un contributo allo studio dell'esperienza umana dello “spazio alimentare” come costruzione sociale che comprende sia i modelli del comportamento umano, e la loro relazione sensoriale con uno specifico luogo, sia l'imprenditoria etnica.
Il nucleo di questo progetto di ricerca è rappresentato da un’indagine multi-generazionale del multiforme processo della migrazione italiana in America, laddove la cultura alimentare viene utilizzata come veicolo per esaminare come gli immigrati abbiano prima perso e poi negoziato una nuova identità in terra straniera. Lo scopo generale della tesi è quello di esaminare come il cibo rappresenti un collegamento nostalgico con la patria per la prima generazione, un compromesso culturale per la seconda e un modo per rinegoziare un'etnia ibrida per le generazioni successive. La lente del cibo è anche utilizzata per esplorare lo sviluppo dei ristoranti italiani durante il Proibizionismo e il loro ruolo nel processo di omogeneizzazione culinaria e di invenzione della tradizione nel mondo contemporaneo.
Per spiegare come la cucina regionale in America sia diventata un simbolo collettivo di etnia e abbia potuto creare un'identità Italo-Americana nazionale distinta da quella italiana, ho adottato il modello creato da Werner Sollors e Kathleen Neils Cozen e sintetizzato con l'espressione di “invenzione dell'etnia”.
Il capitolo di apertura esplora la migrazione su larga scala che ha colpito l'Italia e la storia economica italiana per oltre un secolo e prosegue con un’analisi storica sullo sviluppo dei prodotti alimentari nel tempo. La prima sezione evidenzia il significato culturale dell'alimento e il suo ruolo nella costruzione di un'identità nazionale oltre i confini italiani e prosegue con un’analisi sulla successiva variazione delle abitudini alimentari durante l'immigrazione di massa. Il capitolo conclude illustrando il quadro teorico utilizzato per teorizzare le diverse dimensioni dell'etnia.
Partendo dall'ipotesi che l'identità sia un elemento socialmente costruito e in continua evoluzione, il secondo capitolo è dedicato all'analisi della natura mutevole del cibo, esplorata
attraverso tre distinti ma spesso sovrapposti tipi di spazio: spazio della "memoria individuale"; spazio della "memoria collettiva"; spazio della "tradizione inventata".
Lo spazio della “memoria individuale” esplora come i primi immigrati italiani tendevano a conservare le loro tradizioni regionali. Al contrario lo spazio della memoria collettiva osserva il conflitto ideologico emerso tra la prima e la seconda generazione di immigrati italiani, in risposta alle pressioni sociali del paese ospitante. L'analisi termina con la rappresentazione di generazioni successive impegnate a ricreare una cultura separata di cibo come simbolo dell'identità creolata.
Il capitolo tre, il primo capitolo empirico della dissertazione, attraverso l'analisi della letteratura migrante mostra l'importanza del cibo italiano nella formazione dell'identità italo-
americana. Questa letteratura ibrida esamina il ruolo degli alimenti nelle opere letterarie italo-americane di seconda, terza e della generazione contemporanea di scrittori.
Il quarto capitolo completa la discussione seguendo la saga del cibo italiano dai primi
ristoranti etnici a buon mercato, frutto della tradizione casalinga italiana, fino allo sviluppo di un riconoscibile stile di cucina italo-americano. A questo proposito, i ristoranti rappresentano una "narrazione" etnica significativa che riunisce aspetti economici, sociali e culturali della diaspora italiana in America e fa luce sull'invenzione del concetto di tradizione culinaria italiana dietro le cucine americane. La sezione termina con un'esplorazione del problema moderno relativo al fenomeno dell’Italian "Sounding" negli Stati Uniti, basato sulla creazione di immagini, colori e nomi di prodotti molto simili agli equivalenti italiani, ma senza collegamenti diretti con le tradizioni e la cultura italiana.
Il capitolo finale fornisce una visione etnografica su ciò che significa essere italo-americani oggi e come i ristoranti italiani negli Stati Uniti soddisfano la tradizione culinaria Italiana nel mondo contemporaneo americano. Per concludere, considerando le teorie dell'invenzione della tradizione, due casi di studio esplorativi a Naples, in Florida, vengono presentati sia per analizzare come gli italo-americani contemporanei manifestano la loro etnia attraverso il cibo etnico sia per esaminare come il cibo italiano viene commercializzato nei ristoranti etnici degli Stati Uniti, alla luce della del processo di globalizzazione.

This miscellaneous volume in honour of Paolo Mastandrea includes contributions by colleagues and friends dealing with some of the main topics of his scientific interests: intertextuality, late Latin studies, philological problems, the legacy of Classics in Renaissance, digital humanities. The first section, «Literary History and Intertextuality», focuses on special patterns in Latin literature within a very wide chronological range, from Vergil to Optatianus. Specific attention is dedicated to elegy and to mythological characters in elegy and tragedy. The section named «Philological Notes» deals with critical problems within texts by Sallustius, Macrobius and Historia Augusta. The following section, «Late Latin studies», is dedicated to several authors and topics: Simphosius’ Aenigmata, Sidonius, Historia Augusta, Claudianus, Epigrammata Bobiensia, Johannes Lydus and literary topoi used in late Latin texts. The work where he directly addresses the problem of work is History and Class Consciousness. In this work he analyzes and describes the phenomenon of reification. Work is transformed into a thing and thus can be fragmented and manipulated to increase production. After reading Marx's economic-philosophical manuscripts, Lukács discovers the ontological character of the work. He defines an ontological conception of work, that expressed in the Ontology of Social Being. Work is the moment that distinguishes man from animal. Work is the model of every form of human practice, through the position of the purpose, the investigation of the natural means to achieve it and its realization.

Luciano Gallino’s sociology is centered on three problems: modernization, technological innovation, and the quality of work. Gallino’s sixty-year of writings three phases can be discerned. In the first phase the investigations concern the possibilities of improving the quality of work. In the second phase the main object of analysis is the process of modernization, especially the relationship between the formal and informal dimensions of the economy, with special regard to cases of double jobs, work flexibility and job insecurity. In the third phase, from the late Nineties to 2015, Gallino broadens his perspective to include the analysis of processes of globalization at organizational and ideological levels. The investigation focuses on the one hand on the characteristics and consequences of the financialization of the economy and, on the other, on the de-responsibility of the business company.

The paper is devoted to the problem of imitation of maps in the late Renaissance Polish poetry (between 1580 and 1630). The author first discusses the special interest in cartography that existed among the Polish elite and poets of the period. The main thesis of the paper is that poets widely used map-based techniques in constructing their poems. Imitation (imitatio) played a crucial role in this process. To illustrate this concept, the author analyses the work of five poets: S.F. Klonowic, K. Miaskowski, S. Petrycy, M.K. Sarbiewski and Sz. Szymonowic. Looking at the shared topoi used in poems and maps and investigating how the late Renaissance poets described the territory of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, allows the author to draw a similarity between controlling space in poetry and maps. This suggests the idea of ruling over space might be related to the 16th-century idea of a God-like poet.

In The Act of Work (1984) Heilbroner argues that work expresses subordination and its opposite, freedom. Work cannot be described solely in terms of objectively defined tasks, but of subordinately completed tasks. With modern capitalism, the formal freedom not to work is introduced, and it is the end of work based on force. With the development of industrial society, the blackmail of hunger also disappears, because in our society no one is condemned to die of hunger. Therefore capitalism raises the problem of the motivation of work that makes it desirable even though it is no longer essential for life. In this regard Heilbroner lists five main motivations. But if in capitalism it is possible to work with a certain degree of freedom and self-realization, Heilbroner raises the question of whether a a society without work and effortlessly subjugated is conceivable.

AbstractThis brief summarizes some of the main results I obtained during my Ph.D. studies at Politecnico di Milano, under the supervision of Professor Stefano Tubaro. The thesis provides contributions to understanding the advantages, and limitations, of data-driven deep learning approaches to geophysical inverse problems, with a special focus on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). Exploration Geophysics aims at estimating accurate physical properties of the Earth subsurface from seismic data acquired close to the surface. Seismic data show a great variety of statistically relevant and independent patterns. I devise Deep Learning methods to solve several geophysical tasks by learning such patterns. First, I devise generative networks as a post-processing operator for refining reflectivity images. When trained on pure image datasets, these networks suffer from the lack of physical knowledge. Then, I show a different approach named Deep Priors, which are CNNs that precondition the inverse problem. In particular, I develop a scheme to interpolate seismic data. Finally, I leverage the features extraction ability of CNNs for buried landmine detection on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) acquisitions. While the presented methods are effective compared to the state of the art, improvements can be achieved by integrating pure data-driven algorithms within general inverse problems theory through a-priori information derived from domain knowledge.

AbstractIn recent years, the modernisation process has led to a radical transformation of the territory, producing waste in various forms (José Zapata Campos and Michael Hall in Organising waste in the city, Bristol University Press, 2013). Waste, not only in the sense of domestic or industrial waste but also in a broader concept linked to the territory and landscape’s spatial context. The concept relates to the degraded and subsequently abandoned area. Places understood as waste, areas expelled from the city and extraneous as they have no use and are now at the end of their life cycle.These areas, recognised as wastescapes (Amenta and Attademo in CRIOS 12:79–88, 2016) or a waste of land (Berger in Drosscape: Wasting land in urban America, Princeton Architectural Press, 2007), draw the and landscape’s mosaic increasingly fragmented. Also, current mobility requirements lead to a discussion on the design of road infrastructure. While in some cases the tendency is to upgrade existing ones, in others the choice is to design and build new routes. These new routes are causing many problems for the landscape, which is becoming even more devastated. A territory made up of linear elements, and ecosystem networks that physically connect urban space to environmental space create multiple landscapes within which transport networks act as a glue between the different urban poles and as a generator of abandoned areas (Russo in Techne 15:39–44, 2018).With this in mind, the study aims to analyse and assess, through spatial indicators, the potential that abandoned sites close to major road infrastructures can offer to society not only in economic but also in environmental terms.Starting from the Focus Area’s municipalities identified in the Horizon 2020 REPAiR project (Geldermans et al., in REPAiR project: REsource Management in Peri-urban AReas: Going beyond urban metabolism, 2017) for the Neapolitan context, only four of the eleven municipalities identified by the project are considered to make the analyses exhaustive and replicable in other contexts.The methodology defined the relationships between the built environment and abandoned infrastructure spaces, which cross and fragment the city and are devoid of functionality.The study had structured in three main phases: Identification of the abandoned interstitial areas of the road and neighbouring infrastructures in the municipalities of Afragola, Cardito, Casalnuovo di Napoli and Casoria (municipal territories of the metropolitan city of Naples); Analysis of the indexes of proximity to the urbanised areas and connectivity between the abandoned interstitial areas and the urbanised fabric; Evaluate these indices for the suburban areas to identify the attractiveness for future urban regeneration processes. In this sense, the attractiveness potential of abandoned interstitial spaces of road infrastructures had assessed.If included in a decision support system, these analyses and evaluations would support the definition of urban regeneration actions. In this sense, it evaluated the potential for the attractiveness of abandoned interstitial areas of road infrastructure. In this context, particular attention is paid to the environment in which we live and its protection and preservation.

This paper looks at banking following the way of thinking of J.A. Schumpeter and F. Besta, and addresses two main points: a) the idea that ‘loans make deposits’, as opposed to the popular view that ‘deposits make loans’, and b) the poor quality of information on banking performance delivered by double-entry bookkeeping, following either the equity-centered accounting system (‘sistema patrimoniale’) or the Zappa’s profit-centered accounting system (‘sistema del reddito’). The most important problems of banking, indeed, are loan liquidity and solvency, which are difficult to evaluate from the balance sheet items, so that additional information is needed from outside the balance sheet to evaluate, for example, maturities and durations. This critical point implies that the risk taker is CET1 and not savers, as the Basel Committee stated.

Conclusions: two di erent compilers, who used di erent texts, show similar thematic composition in constructing a school curriculum. It includes: 1. Grammar as a main section; 2. Explanation the necessity of study and the meaning of “Wisdom”; 3. Norms of the pupils' conduct; 4. Instructions on piety as well as threats for ignoring them; 5. Catechisms and the texts of prayers; 6. Instructions for teachers. e two authorcompilers nearly exhausted the possibilities of the Muscovite repertoire of texts, which could be used for children's education. However, they added some new translations as well as their own compositions.

In the first-half of the seventeenth-century, the military policy of the Savoy Duchy, and, in particular, of Charles Emmanuel I and Victor Amadeus I, led to some major constructions aimed at consolidating its defence, in the mountains and plains, by building and strengthening “modern” and efficient fortresses. In the mid-thirties, a large square-shaped citadel with four huge pentagonal bastions without orillons was built in the city of Asti. It was not linked to the city walls and did not strengthen the older defensive structures; it was located in the plain to the south-east of the city, in the area between the southern walls and the course of the Tanaro river. The design immediately attracted attention both in defensive terms (demonstrated by the visit reports of Carlo di Castellamonte and the drawings of Carlo Morello) and on a celebratory level. In fact, the view of the city of Asti with its new citadel was rightly included in two of the most important decorative cycles frescoed in those very years, the room of architectural Magnificence at the Valentino Castle in Turin and the hall of Victor Amadeus I at Palazzo Taffini d’Acceglio in Savigliano.This instant critical success, reiterated in the table dedicated to Asti published in the Theatrum Sabaudiae (Amsterdam, 1682), was not, however, reflected in the actual success of the project, which was immediately subject to numerous criticisms. These included, above all, Carlo Morello who, in the Avvertimenti sopra le fortezze di S.R.A. (1656), illustrated the difficulties encountered in attacking the city in order to take it from the Spanish due to the incorrect position in which the citadel had been built, too distant and poorly connected. The various problems outlined above led to its early demolition just forty years after the project: when the Theatrum immortalised Asti among its engravings, the citadel had already been demolished.

As Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) adopted software-based Digital Instrumentation and Control (DI&C) System, the Software Configuration Management (SCM) is becoming more and more important for NPP. The main reason is the inherent changeability and invisibility which of software often causes unpredictable problems and results are difficult to manage. In addition, the DI&C system has always been constructed by multiple vendors and each vendor of the DI&C has its own development artifacts. Therefore, it is great challenge for NPP staff to maintain the consistency and integrity of software Configuration Items (CI) among multiple vendors. The software CIs include software products delivered to customers and items required to create the software products such as software design document, source code, database, test report, compiler, etc. In general, Software Configuration Management System (SCMS) is usually developed to support SCM activities, such as storing CI, controlling change, and accounting and auditing throughout the entire software lifecycle. However, most existing file-based SCMS typically deal with those artifacts of individual files without providing the more detailed configuration and change information among CIs. Based on the nuclear SCM related regulations, this paper proposes a developing SCMS for the DI&C system of a NPP. Its main goal is to meet the regulatory requirements, and enhance the visibility, tractability and integrate ability to manage the heterogeneous subsystems within the DI&C system. This paper provides the more detailed descriptions about regulation requirements analysis, system design and the development process. Finally, a prototype system is presented.

The case study Santo Stefano di Sessanio, an ancient village in the center of Italy, inhabited until 90's, shows how the examination of urban shape represents the potentiality of his own revitalization. By relating his historical identity to the scattered hotel projectual approach, it contributes to combine conservation, valorization and sustainability of the existing building fabric, in order to claim the authenticity of these villages declaring their own autonomy and dimension to major urban centers polarization. In this example transformation is meant as conscious project that grow up from the built reality not from the project itself, transformation as knowledge of urban facts, tool to approach to the structure of this reality. ABSTRACT At present, with the continuous development of unconventional oil and gas exploration and development, horizontal wells, as an important means of unconventional oil and gas exploitation, have attracted much attention from drilling teams and oil field companies. However, the cost of horizontal well drilling is relatively high, so more targeted construction should be carried out according to the characteristics of horizontal well drilling. Therefore, rate of penetration (ROP) prediction of horizontal wells is extremely important. The current ROP prediction models of horizontal wells mainly rely on manual experience and some mechanism models, and do not take field data and actual construction conditions into account, so the field application effect is difficult to be ideal. To solve this problem, an intelligent algorithm based ROP prediction model for horizontal Wells is proposed and a novel dual-input neural network structure is designed. Sequential data such as hook load and rotary torque are input into Gated recurrent unit’ (GRU) network, and non-sequential data such as bit type are input into back-propagation neural network(BP), which is called Dual Input GRU(Di-GRU) ROP prediction model. The results show that mean absolute percentage error and R-squared of this model are 11.8% and 0.923 respectively. The prediction model based on Di-GRU proposed in this paper has higher accuracy and better mobility, which is of guiding significance for improving the drilling efficiency of horizontal wells. INTRODUTION With the deepening of oilfield exploration and development, the development of deep and complex oil and gas reservoirs has become the focus of stabilizing oil and increasing production, which has important strategic significance. At present, horizontal wells have become the main well type for developing complex oil and gas reservoirs(Yassie et al.,2020). Compared with vertical wells, horizontal wells usually have more complex geological conditions and greater drill string friction, resulting in poor formation drill ability and difficulty in drilling the drill string. The low rate of penetration(ROP) and the small footage of a single bit bring severe challenges to drilling engineering and seriously affect the progress of exploration and development(Soares et al.,2019). Accurate ROP prediction of horizontal wells can assist the scientific allocation of resources before drilling and the accurate formulation of operation plans, which is of great significance for improving drilling efficiency and reducing costs. Horizontal well drilling engineering operation is a complex process. Formation, tools and operating parameters all play an important role in the rock breaking of the drill bit, such as formation drill ability, drill bit wear, rotary speed, mud performance, drill bit pressure, build-up rate, etc. Therefore, it is difficult toaccurately predict the ROP of horizontal wells.

The liquid cooling of electronic components is generally implemented by a mechanical pump, which requires a minimal maintenance to ensure the reliability of the device. To solve this problem, it is proposed to replace the mechanical pump by a static one, for example an electro-osmotic (EO) pump. In this paper, firstly we present the theory of the electro-osmosis phenomena, and a model of a porous EO pump. Then an optimization of a porous EO pump made of sintered silica is presented. It was found that for any porous EO pump the optimum operating point of the pump is determined by controlling the diameter of the effective pore radius of the porous silica and the Debye length. Using deionised (DI) water as pumping liquid, the EO pump generates 13.6 ml/min and 2 kPa at 150 V applied voltage. The power consumed by the pump is less than 0.4 W. The EO pump works without any bubbles in the hydraulic circuit. This design can be used to cool 47 W of power generated by the power components with a forced convection without evaporation and 270 W with evaporation.

The themes of reduce, recycle, reuse are at the heart of the challenges that the global society of the XXI century is facing. At the same time, more than two-thirds of the world population lives in cities nominating the latters to play a central role in the near future. For this reason, the search for a methodology for the redevelopment of the historical urban fabrics appears today extremely interesting. Complexity, richness and stratification of the latters make them definitely the most convincing test to set a scientific strategy for the project of urban transformations. But stratification means complexity and complex are the phenomena that characterize the XXI century society. The only convincing way then for the analysis of these phenomena is that of the multi-disciplinarity. The proposed methodology is structured, thus, around a number of disciplines (Urban Morphology, Sustainability, Urban Regulation, Economic Evaluation and Urban Design) on which to set the reading of the urban fabric with special attention to the so called “urban voids” namely all those situations in which the tissue is interrupted due to slumping and demolitions. This aspect is very important because if, on the one hand, it is in these areas where key tissue analysis problems can be seen, on the other hand, it is always from these areas that the main urban, social and economical transformation opportunities can take boot. A Due Diligence of the “urban voids” organised in datasheets/base (for each area) concludes the analysis. The different disciplinary fields work then in a complementary way within a single methodological approach laying the scientific basis for the interventions of urban regeneration within the historic fabric of Valencia. The physical and mathematical models of droplet breakup [1] and evaporation [2] are thoroughly tested for single-component physical surrogates (n-decane and n-dodecane) of aviation kerosene. Also, the overall kinetic mechanisms of self-ignition and combustion of singlecomponent and 9-component chemical surrogates of aviation kerosene vapors are developed and thoroughly validated against available experimental data. The tested models, chosen surrogates, and validated kinetic mechanisms are then applied to the solution of the multidimensional problem of kerosene spray self-ignition in a con¦ned volume. For the droplet breakup model [1], the values of empirical coef- ¦cients inherent in transverse injection of kerosene spray into a hot air stream are determined. The evaporation model [2] is shown to be well applicable at gas pressures lower than the liquid critical pressure, while at supercritical pressures, the use of a real-gas equation of state is required. As chemical surrogates of kerosene vapors, a singlecomponent surrogate based on n-dodecane and a 9-component surrogate based on the blend of normal alkanes with the number of carbon atoms from 8 to 16 are selected. The volume fractions of n-alkanes in the blend are chosen in accordance with the amplitudes of carbon peaks in the chromatogram. The overall kinetic mechanisms of selfignition and combustion of the selected chemical surrogates are based on the ¦xed set of reactions, namely, the rate-limiting irreversible reaction of n-alkanes oxidation to CO and H2O followed by reversible water gas shift and water dissociation reactions and irreversible reactions of CO and H2 oxidation. Despite the set of reactions is ¦xed, the values of the kinetic parameters of the rate-limiting reaction for self-ignition and combustion are di¨erent because in self-ignition, the main role is played by chain branching reactions in the absence of external heat and mass sources, while in combustion, such sources exist due to huge gradients of temperature and active species concentrations. Comparison with available experimental data shows that the overall kinetic mechanisms are well applicable to the problems of selfignition and combustion of kerosene in wide ranges of temperature, pressure, and composition of kerosene air mixtures. The results of multidimensional calculations are compared with experimental data on self-ignition delays and spatial evolution of the reaction zone [3]. Calculations are shown to be in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data despite somewhat conditional de¦nitions of the selfignition delays and spatial domains occupied by the reaction zone.

The objective of the project is to reach sustainable development in rural areas through Design Aapproaches. Sustainable means that matches the three dimensions, people, planet and profit. Sustainable development consists of goals and strategies that together provide alternative tracks to conventional development, offering improved livelihoods to the poor in ways that promote both their empowerment and the conservation or improvement of key natural resources so that the basis of productive activities can be maintained into the future (Lele 1991; Pretty 1998). The topic of rural development is relevant becouse of the quantity of people, poor or extremely poor, living in rural territories. More than 3 billion people live in rural areas. Design rarely deals with rural development and with the definition of a system that can facilitate the growth and the development of the territory. If it does, it usually focuses on products or services. The most important futures, which globally all rural areas share in common, are remoteness and isolation. Many rural sociologists argue that small structure and cooperation are important strengths that contribute to ethic and social identity. The central role that play territorial context and relationships in the Systemic Design Approach (SDA) makes it a very effective approach to support and encourage rural development in a sustainable way. Applying the SDA, it is possible to manage local resources and local products in a way that allows the economic strengthening of the farmers and communities that live in the territory. The Systemic Design team of the Deparment of Architecture and Design (DAD) of Politecnico di Torino has been engaged for years into the develop of the Systemic Design Approach, that can be summed up by five principles (Bistagnino, 2011): Output > Input: the output (waste) of a system becomes the input (resource) for another one Relationships that generate the system, each one contributes to the system Auto-generation systems sustain themselves by reproducing automatically Act locally: context is fundamental because it values local resources (humans, cultures and materials) and it helps to modify local problems in new opportunities Man at the centre of the project: Man is connected to social, cultural and ethic environment It is essential to start from the current state of the art, that allows to define strengths and weaknesses, before to design the system, made of flows between actors.
