Abstract:
Abstract People with dementia value staying active and continuing with their everyday lives in public space, however there is a lack of knowledge about how they experience accessibility, problematic situations and how to manage these situations. The aim is to illuminate experiences of accessibility in public space in people with dementia with focus on places, activities and problematic situations. A Grounded theory approach was used in the thesis with multiple data collection methods (interviews, focus group interviews, observations and visual methods). Findings show that having access to everyday activities at different places in the neighbourhood was very important for the participants when they perceived themselves as being a part of the society and being active and independent persons. Engaging in familiar activities in familiar places was important. However, their activity radii in the community became smaller. The findings inspired the development of the questionnaire Participation in Activities and Places Outside Home.

This paper is longform commentary and analysis of Angela Nagle's recent work Kill All Normies Online culture wars from 4chan and Tumblr to Trump and the alt-right. It explores the work's relevance to 'Extreme Masculinties', and places it within the context of the contemporary poltiical situation. The work's main thesis on the aesthetic and libidinal forms and characteristics of the 'Alt-Right' are heavily interrogated and placed within the historical context of previous 'crises' in masculinity. This analysis proceeds to further explore the existence of this contemporary crisis through the broader spectrum of identity politics, and its problematic ideological conflicts and consequences.

Giving the impression that perichoresis solves the “threeness-oneness problem” or the “two natures–one person problem” without an explanation of how perichoresis works is problematic; as such, an explanation of perichoresis ought to be provided. I provide one way to address this problem by drawing upon the work of Eleonore Stump. In contrast to approaches that avoid the metaphysics of perichoresis I provide an account of the metaphysics of perichoresis and suggest that a Stump-inspired account of perichoresis—that is, an account that places an emphasis on the notion of sharing some aspect of the mental life—deserves serious attention by those who feel the weight of the problematic use of perichoresis.

This article examines the poetry of E.A. Baratynskii about three specific places: Finland, the homeland (i.e. Russia), and Italy. It is the contention of this article that these place-specific poems form a contrast to Baratynskii's other poetry, and allow his poetic persona to resolve conflicts that remain unresolved in the majority of his oeuvre. In particular, this article discusses the ways in which these three places form three different "realms of the dead" or areas of contact with the divine or the supernatural, thus allowing the poet to transcend the binary conflict between intellect and feeling, and science and nature, that is so problematic for his poetic persona.

Abstract:
How one conceptualizes place in research matters. I offer a ‘line analysis’ informed by Ingold’s idea that places are ‘tissues of lines’ and argue that this enables reflexivity with regards to what counts as ‘place’, adds legitimacy to the claim that places really do matter in research, and assists in representing places as a socio-natural phenomenon that cannot be compartmentalized or reduced to a humanist understanding of the social. I trial this analysis by drawing upon interviews and focus groups with people living in the vicinity of the Museum of Old and New Art (Mona). I use references made about lines of various kinds to create a narrative that locates Mona within the everyday lives of local residents. I conclude that this museum’s impact of is more mundane than the social transformation envisaged in the Bilbao Effect as this ‘effect’ relies upon a problematic and unexamined conceptualisation of place.

Abstract:
Purpose – There are some 487,000 places in long-stay residential care and nursing homes in the UK representing an industry worth some £15.2 billion per annum. Creating leases with guaranteed rental uplifts, a property bond in all but name, now attracts significant investment into healthcare. This is argued to be unsustainable, as evidenced by the collapse of Southern Cross Healthcare. The purpose of this paper is to provide insight into institutional investment for sustainable healthcare provision. Design/methodology/approach – It is carried out via a range of unstructured and semi-structured interviews with a purposive sample of a small elite of professionals involved at the summit of this investment market and analysis of secondary literature concerning the wider international property market regarding the way in which advisers and investors view the security and value of these new instruments. Findings – It is found that the differentiation between rental growth and indexed rental uplifts reveal a misunderstanding of the nature of the investment vehicles currently being marketed. Practical implications – The implication of the research, is that much modern private healthcare provision is financially unsustainable, as has begun to be recognised in recent government regulation and guidance. Originality/value – This research provides new and original insight into institutional investment for sustainable healthcare provision

Abstract:
Abstract Urban shrinkage is among of the most dangerous current risks for the preservation of liveability (e.g. residential function) in formerly prosperous historical residential and industrial districts. The planning for shrinkage emerged only in the 21st century in order to manage and prevent growing urban decay, depopulation and housing crisis through the application of smart structural adjustment policies and planning instruments for formerly heavily industrialised North American and Asian cities. Both shrinkage and liveability planning are still very “fuzzy” concepts and have been applied in ways that are not always consistent (e.g. for measuring decline, migration, demographics). However, remains the question of what (methods or approaches) would prevent (control) this well-known but evidently “wicked” and still less explored phenomenon of “loss of liveability” in a historical built environment. This paper aims to review the urban shrinkage and liveability problematic and prevention solutions (methods) based on studies of theory and practice of urban planning.

Abstract:
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe localization and calculation load identification of dynamic systems using piezoelectric sensors. Finding methods, which would allow us to evaluate loads on simple systems is the key to their application in the structural health monitoring of more complex systems. A theory necessary for understanding and application in aerospace, civil engineering, automobile industry, and train traffic of presented methods is given in the first part of the thesis. In these applications, the methods of wave propagation and different types of neural network methods are used to evaluate load identification. It is possible to evaluate loads by using a time reverse method, a method based on signal deconvolution, and a method based on a voltage amplitude ratio of the piezoelectric sensor. In the next part, the methods are described, the suitable place for gluing of a sensor, and the number of sensors for using method is given. These methods were verified and compared to a simple experimental system. In the following part, the model of the piezoelectric sensor is presented. It is possible to use the model for calculating voltage output from the strain. For methods verification, the problem of train passage in a specific place of the railway is chosen. The speed of the train and its load on the railway was calculated by using these methods.

The thesis on "Critical places at the first stage of primary school in the teaching of mathematics by the Hejný method" focuses on the problematic places of the Hejný method, which make it difficult for teachers and especially their pupils at the first stage of primary schools. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the constructivist and transient educational style teaching of mathematics using the Hejný method are characterized. The critical points in mathematics identified in the project of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic are also introduced and conceived into a unified structure. The theoretical part also includes an analysis of pupil solutions to mathematical tasks from the 2015 TIMSS international survey. The empirical part deals with the experience and view of primary school teachers in teaching mathematics by the Hejný method. The first research survey finds from future primary school teachers their experience and opinions on this method. The second research survey focuses on the identification of problematic places and roles in the teaching of mathematics by the Hejný method from the point of view of teachers who teach mathematics using the Hejný method at the first stage of primary schools. Abstract:
This thesis examines patient recruitment in clinical trials. It is a current and pressing issue, which is not sufficiently embedded in the thinking of doctors and patients, their patterns of communication, and more broadly in the traditional doctor-patient relationship, which continues to be burdened by post-socialist paternalism. The formal framework and ethics have been developed relatively recently, and their application causes confusion to all participants regarding how to proceed in specific situations. In addition, the choice of topic, and especially the form of dealing with the topic, was motivated by the relative lack of academic resources and publications in the field. The theoretical section of the thesis defines clinical research and its phases, and introduces basic terminology and documents closely linked to clinical research. In addition, it focuses on research ethics, thoroughly examining the issue of informed consent - a fundamental document necessary for recruiting a patient in a clinical trial. Finally, one chapter of the thesis focuses on the issue of medical literacy, the level of which is integral to the participants' understanding of the importance of clinical research, and directly affects participants' decision-making. The empirical section is divided into two parts. The...

Abstract:
This chapter provides a detailed ethnographic account of the housing controversy in San Antón. It places particular emphasis on the racial and spatial coordinates that informed debate over its implementation, pointing to the problematic and contested deployment of scripts of nostalgia, homogeneity, matrifocality, harmony, and unchanging traditions that marked San Antón as an exceptional place of racialized difference. The controversy over housing showed the inadequacy of an approach that romanticized the community without considering the social relationships of power that shaped it and, more importantly, without discussing its transformations with residents. Moreover, the housing project failed to recognize San Antón residents' everyday practices and desires as modern, casting them instead as bearers of unchanging traditions.

Abstract:
Current rapprochement strategies for medicine and spirituality are in tension with three distinct constituencies: skeptics, spiritual generalists, and religious particularists. Each constituency needs to compromise without losing its core values. Skeptics need to reconsider partnership with religion. Skeptics would gain by having an alliance with the social force of religions, which may alone can resist expanding market and bureaucratic forces. Spiritual generalists should move away from insisting that generic spirituality be accepted by all while still having a place at the table to advocate for their particular view. Distancing the movement of spirituality and health from religion provides some short-term gains but will unlikely lead to medicine’s meaningful transformation. Religious particularists must embrace both a functional definition of religion and the importance of empirical research of spirituality and religion. While finding common ground between these diverse groups is challenging given our current social context, new strategies are necessary for rapprochement.

Abstract:
This chapter argues that it is often impermissible to invite problematic speakers to campus. Opponents of campus speech codes often argue that it is important to invite problematic speakers in order to teach students resilience. On the contrary, I argue, if you know that their past or future behavior is both wrong and reflects accurately on their current attitudes or dispositions, it is impermissible to invite them. To do so can require you to stand in solidarity with the problematic speaker and thereby stand against—to betray—those who have been or will be victimized by their speech or behavior. Inviting a speaker to campus comes with obligations to the speaker—obligations of politeness and respect. Because it is impermissible to satisfy those obligations to certain kinds of problematic speakers, it is impermissible to invite them in the first place.

Abstract:
Domiciles ordinarily represent the first space that humans occupy, structures through which they begin to realize their own being and relation to the larger world. It is also in and through houses that humans may first experience themselves as souls, gaining sacramental intimations of a spirituality mediated through yet also beyond the materiality of their primal shelter. This chapter reflects on the diverse ways in which house structures, even as they are stationed in space, play a critical role in the spiritual journeying of writers such as Henry Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Harriet Beecher Stowe. With reference to fictional works by Willa Cather, Marilynne Robinson, and Ernest Gaines, this chapter also reflects on the problematic complications of humankind’s relation to home places—that is, on what it means to be displaced and the existential consequence of encountering former houses that are no longer homes.

Abstract:
Roughly coinciding with the onset of the commodity price boom of the 2000s was an influx of financial investment in commodity derivatives. This ‘financialization’ has given rise to debates regarding the potential influence of investors on commodity prices. This chapter examines these debates and places them within the context of the wider scholarship on financialization. It argues that critiques of financialization are problematic in several important respects. They are underpinned by long-standing suspicions and misconceptions of derivatives trading as a socially unproductive or harmful activity; they tend to conflate the participation of financial investors with ‘speculation’. The chapter finds that the term ‘financialization’ is ultimately misleading for in its characterization of the new institutional realities of the commodity price formation process. Rather than attempting to demarcate ‘purely’ financial investment in commodities from commercial trading, ‘financialization’ should refer to the growth of ‘hyper’ or short-term trading that occurs in commodity markets.

Although the need to compensate life in the rush and buzz of the city made its numerous inhabitants seek quiet recreation outdoors, some of them sought recreation as well as excitement, whose source were adventures inspired by their ideas of the Wild West. In the past century, its heroes, real or fictional, have become the symbols of the bearers of a distinctive and unique subculture called tramping, popular exclusively in Czechia (and partly Slovakia). In spite of the unique lifestyle, tramps could not do outdoors without refreshment, food and drink, which were provided by taverns and pubs in villages and secluded places near their campsites. Those businesses that proved successful and effective from the perspective of our tramps and men of prairies became known as tramp taverns. It was mainly there, especially during various excesses, that their god, Pajda, had to stand by them.

Abstract:
AbstractBeginning in 2020, COVID-19 produced shock-shifts that were felt across the globe, not least at the level of the local neighborhood. Some of these shifts have called into question the role of physical places for face-to-face gatherings, including those used by LGBTQ+ people. Such open questions are a key concern for a book on gayborhoods, so this chapter engages in three analytic tasks to provide preliminary reflections on how pandemics problematize places. While acknowledging a range of threats and challenges that the pandemic poses to the future of LGBTQ+ spaces, this chapter focuses on the potential opportunities and unexpected benefits that COVID-19 can create, running counter to more pessimistic predictions that abound in popular discourse. First, the chapter contextualizes how the COVID-19 pandemic is reminiscent of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, allowing the gayborhood to be well-equipped to respond with grassroots activism, particularly in the face of government inaction or apathy. Second, the chapter explores trends that can ensure the future vitality of LGBTQ+ spaces, including (i) the potential of mutual aid networks, (ii) the power of institutional anchors in LGBTQ+ placemaking efforts, (iii) urban changes related to homesteading and population shifts, (iv) innovations in the interior design of physical spaces, and (v) opportunities to enhance social connections through augmented virtual engagements. Far from signaling the death knell of LGBTQ+ spaces, these trends demonstrate the enduring appeal provided by neighborhoods and communities. Third, the cognitive schemas of lockdowns, re-closeting, and digitalscapes are identified as unique expressions of the shifting spatialities of sexuality in post-pandemic urban space. The chapter concludes by arguing that place will still matter for LGBTQ+ people in a post-COVID-19 era, albeit with altered meanings and material expressions. The socio-spatial consequences of the novel coronavirus will be a confluence of positive and negative developments, and while some will be reversed as soon as an effective vaccine is found, others will linger indelibly in bodies and the built environment for years to come.

A brief theoretical framework compares the general aspects of the two texts, and then moves forward to explore what space does in Gaiman's narratives along with how the main characters interact with specific, unique spaces. The results show impossible, almost unmappable spaces are the places where otherwise distinct and problematic characters can best thrive.

Abstract:
Thailand presents a vexingly ‘hybrid’ image of both success and failure. A lay reader of journalistic and academic literature on Thai development could readily be excused for concurring with the opinion of renowned Thai scholar David Wilson, who long ago insisted ‘What damn good is this country—you can’t compare it to anything!’ (Anderson 1978: 193). Indeed, so contradictory are the varying images of the country and the events taking place within it that it often seems Thailand can’t even be compared to itself. This sense of identity crisis has only been heightened by the economic crisis that began in 1996. What had been one of Asia’s miracle economies led the region into bust, leaving many analysts gasping for air. Thus, as the twenty-first century begins, and we look back on the events of the past century, there is a sense of urgency and contentiousness surrounding a very basic question that one might have already expected to be answered: what exactly is this multifaceted and volatile phenomenon called ‘development’ in Thailand, and why does it generate such diverse evaluations? To be sure, some of the contention is due to non-negotiable differences in political perspectives. Yet even granting this, there seems to be less agreement about how to assess development in Thailand than development in many other places. For example, few South Korea scholars, of whatever persuasion, disagree that the country exhibited remarkable and sustained economic growth in recent decades, that this has at least laid the foundations for significant improvements in overall standards of living for most of the population, or that in spite of the crisis the Korean political economy still has substantial potential for further development. Nor, for that matter, do many people disagree that the development process in South Korea was driven forward by an authoritarian state and that issues such as social justice and environmental sustainability must still be addressed. In contrast, interpreters of Thailand’s development experience seem to disagree about such fundamental issues as the importance of state involvement in the process, the degree of well-being which it has bequeathed to the general population, and the future prospects of development.

Issues related to the title’s translation, onomastics, neologisms, proverbs and problematic places, will be addressed. Such issues call for metalinguistic reflections that can be extremely useful when we decide to make one of the products of the aurei ingegni travel to Italy.

Abstract:
In ancient Greek theories of health, it was the equal balance or mixing of the humors or elements (i.e., the isonomic mean) that comprised the ideal healthy state. In the Aristotelian Problema XXX.1, however, there is a description of a form of melancholic constitution that is both 1) itself characterized as a mean, and 2) thought to lead to intellectual outstandingness. This is theoretically problematic since the melancholic constitution was by definition a constitution in which there was a natural preponderance of black bile. Thus, there appear to be two incompatible means that are descriptive of the ideal in ancient Greek medicine: the isonomic mean that underlies the ideal healthy state, and the melancholic mean that describes the melancholic who is capable of greatness. This paper attempts to understand the melancholic mean as described in Problema XXX.1 by considering the two different but related models of this mean that are suggested in the text. A reconciliation of the two somatic ideals is argued for on the basis of what else is said in the Problema, as well as ideas found in the Hippocratic work Airs, Waters, Places and other Aristotelian Problemata.

Hlady, Joseph, Dana Sands, and Lance Fugate. "A Comparison of Remote Sensing Techniques for Centreline and Weld Mapping in Place of Manual Survey in Hazardous Environments." In 2020 13th International Pipeline Conference. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/ipc2020-9730.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract Many places where pipelines are built have soil, basal material and water table conditions which can create suboptimal environments for centerline as-builting and weld mapping. Furthermore, ditches containing multiple pipelines can make as-built and weld mapping particularly complex especially when the pipes are of varying sizes. The complexity of the laying in of multiple pipes may also result in the ditch being exposed longer than desired, enabling further deterioration of ditch conditions and even flooding. At times, circumstances can become so hazardous that manual survey of the pipeline centerline can only be completed while the pipe is outside of the ditch (requiring a transposition) and a variety of survey techniques must be used to capture the centreline locations. Surveying at a distance from the pipes can make verification to weld mapping and field inspection problematic. Recent advancements in remote sensing, particularly mobile LiDAR and imagery collection technology, have lowered collection and processing costs and expanded the applicability of the technology to complex collection environments and harsh conditions on pipeline construction rights-of-way. Additionally, there has been a marked improvement in overall data accuracy and precision from mobile mapping systems. Up until recently, these technologies have only been useful in static construction environments where periods of inactivity during construction afforded the time to set up and collect data in a safe and accurate manner. New remote sensing systems, designed for more rugged, fast-paced, and complex environments are expanding the use of mobile remote sensing to the pipeline construction right of way. These mobile mapping technologies have significant advantages over drone collected data particularly with respect to the logistics of the data collection. Recently, advanced mobile mapping technology was employed on various pipeline construction projects and the accuracy of LiDAR and imagery collection for centerline as-builting and weld mapping was assessed. Some of the project locations were in areas where the traditional manual collection of data could be deemed hazardous or unsafe. This paper evaluates the collection technique against the traditional methods used under hazardous or inaccessible conditions and discusses the benefits of mobile remote sensing for this scenario. The authors also provide an analysis of the remote sensing based as-built and weld mapping data against those acquired through the traditional technique during this trial. Opportunities for adoption of this method as well as improvements to its application are also discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract: Bruno Zevi was an enthusiastic promoter of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and theories. However, the critical enquiry and propaganda of the Italian architect and historian about so-called “organic architecture” reveals a major cultural debt to Le Corbusier. In 1945, Zevi published “Verso un’architettura organica” [Towards an organic architecture], the first version of his history of architecture. The title is clearly a polemical reference to Le Corbusier’s book “Vers une architecture” (1923). In 1977, together with other architects, Zevi promoted the Machu Picchu Charter, a document to “update” the Athens Charter (1933). The places held significance: Athens was the birthplace of western civilization and architectural rationalism. Machu Picchu symbolised the contribution of an alternative way of viewing the world. Are those merely examples of Zevi’s provocations? The relationship between Zevi and Le Corbusier is problematic and ambivalent. Zevi adopts the educational and communicative methods of Le Corbusier and his critical writing style, but his interpretation of the French-Swiss architect also demonstrates an attempt to delineate a new concept of “organic architecture”, related to his researches on a historiographic redefinition of the Modern Movement. Abstract:
With the crisis that started in our country in 2000s, those who owe the bank could not complete their payment obligations, the collection process was damaged and thus the number of problematic loans increased. However, as a result of structural deterioration, bank mergers were experienced, banks' capital was strengthened and many of them were seized by TMSF. This situation has created a distrust of the banking system. In order to change the negative perception, problematic loans which prevent the flow of funds should be solved. At this stage, Asset Management Company has become a need and started to operate in the financial markets of our country. The Asset Management Companies were established in the 1930s to solve the financial problems arising from the global economic crisis. Nowadays, these companies are formed according to the needs and shortcomings and become legal institutions which are effective in eliminating the negative effects of problem loans on banks. In this study; the effects of problem loans, solutions, the process of emergence of companies in the world and in our country, its importance, aims, types, positive and negative aspects of banks and credit customers are examined. As a method of the study, domestic and foreign literature has been utilized and as a result of the study, it has been concluded that this problem has a positive effect on credit customers and banking system upon the transfer of problem loans to asset management companies.

Abstract:
The effectiveness of active control schemes for the reduction of vortex-driven instabilities is demonstrated using an experimental setup consisting of a non-reacting primary flow of air, where both the duct exit and inlet are choked. Two plates produce the vortex-shedding phenomenon at the duct’s first longitudinal mode. The potentially damaging low-frequency instabilities that arise when vortex-shedding frequencies couple with the natural acoustic modes of a choked duct are controlled using a secondary injection method, consisting of pulsing compressed air. A dynamic pressure transducer placed near the chamber exit allows to feed back the information needed to implement a closed-loop control scheme which effectively modifies the phasing of the secondary flow. The proposed approach was proven to be an effective means of reducing the problematic instabilities providing a 66% reduction in the FFT RMS amplitude when utilizing a Proportional-Derivative controller.

Abstract:
Housing and transportation has become a pair of factors when it comes to decision of buying a house for the middle-income. This particular group of society is unique as they are aspired to luxury yet with limited affordability, particularly in the developing countries such as Indonesia. In many cases, housing estates are built in the form similar to gated community. Built in the suburban when usually the new housing estates are located quite in far distance to facilities, the residents are forced to own private vehicle(s) to conduct their daily activities. This situation shows the tendency of automobile dependence (Newman & Kenworthy, 1996; 1999). It has also been reflected in the vehicle ownership statistics figures and the notorious traffic congestion of Indonesian cities. The middle-income housing and their gated community has not only impacted their own travel pattern but also the residents living in kampung adjacent to their housing estate. Kampung dwellers have also reflected the middle-income characteristics with their lifestyle and automobile dependence. It has become eminent in suburban Bandung where pockets of kampung are found to be hidden amidst the housing estates whilst cars are parked on the roadsides. This is problematic in terms of affordability where they cannot really afford to own a car or motorbike as well as to rent a parking space since they usually live in small houses at kampung. To understand the above phenomenon, this paper tries to explore the extent of automobile dependency of the residents living at housing estate and its adjacent kampung at three locations. Data collected from questionnaires and group interviews are descriptively analysed. Results have shown that most residents travel in far distance to reach their job location but do not travel in far distance to conduct their shopping, studying, and exercise activities though some of them own a motorbike. The latter is due to the presence of mobile green grocers, warung, traditional markets, good quality schools, sport facilities and open spaces within walking distance to their houses. However, these nearby facilities are regularly visited mostly because the residents can travel within shorter distance through access points made available for public use. These access points help to create a network of alleys and streets connecting kampung and these facilities through the housing estates. When these access points are restricted or non-existed, the travel pattern would differ as has been uttered by the kampung dwellers. In one of the cases, the following disconnections between the kampung alleys and streets of housing estates have made the kampung dwellers altered either the location or the transportation mode of their activities. There are lessons to be learned from these travel patterns. Housing estate development shall always have access to the kampung that have existed and vice versa. Such spatial connections may contribute to a change of travel behaviour from automobile dependence to active travel. However, it should be kept in mind that these results may not be generally applicable to other places with different socio-economic and spatial characters. Further work in the field may be benefited from more cases and larger population sample.

US Yards have undertaken benchmarking studies under the auspices of the national Shipbuilding Program for many years. However during that time little emphasis has been placed on the coating process. During that time however, coatings have increasingly become problematic at new construction in particular as a result of the relative increase in labor content, the increased regulatory and environmental burdens and the impact on the build schedule and strategy of what is often a bottleneck process.

Abstract:
The large pre-1989 agricultural premises that were built in the communist period are still with us and considerably shape the face of our villages to the present times. Its new uses are particularly problematic, but some changes took place during the last three decades. That is why we tried to compare former uses with uses to the year of the EU accession, up to date uses and planned uses according to territorial zoning plans. Selected municipalities of the Vysočina Region were chosen as case study. 375 pre-1989 agricultural premises with an area of 709.8 hectares were identified. Spatial expansion of 36.2 ha by biogas stations or composting plants to 2019 was found. Agricultural use has lost 116.2 hectares by the year 2019, i.e.,16.4% of the original area - 49.6% of which are agricultural brownfields. Based on the analyses of territorial zoning plans, it was found that they are prepared “rigidly” and that no significant changes are planned in the future. No plan has been made to return agriculture to areas that lost agricultural use in the previous years. Also, agricultural brownfields will not be widely intended for farming activities.

Communion as part of speech occupies a special place in the structure of the Russian language, since it represents a problematic aspect of grammar. Already when determining the grammatical status of participle, the first difficulties appear, which is associated with hybrid features of participle, since it combines the features of two independent parts of speech - the adjective and the verb. The works of linguists describe different approaches to determining the status of communion. At present, it is possible to state the existence in Russian grammar of several points of view on the definition of the nature of communion.

Abstract:
Managers are challenged with the impact of problematic plants, including exotic, invasive, and pest plant species. Information on the cover, distribution, and location of these plants is essential for developing risk-based approaches to managing these species. Based on surveys conducted in 2006, 2011, 2015, and 2019, Heartland Network staff and contractors identified a cumulative total of 45 potentially problematic plant taxa in Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. Of the 34 species found in 2019, we characterized 4 as very low frequency, 14 as low frequency, 9 as medium frequency, and 7 as high frequency. A single species exceeded a 10-acre threshold based on a mid-point estimate. Because of the number of problematic plant taxa, as well as the extent and cover of problematic plants in the park and the small park size, control efforts should focus on treating high priority species across the entire park. High priority species may include plant species capable of rapid spread, species at low population levels, and species which can effectively be controlled.

Based on surveys conducted in 2006, 2011, 2015, and 2019, Heartland Network staff and contractors identified a cumulative total of 28 potentially problematic plant taxa in Arkansas Post National Memorial. Of the 23 species found in 2019, we characterized 9 as very low frequency, 7 as low frequency, 5 as medium frequency, and 2 as high frequency. Cover of all species was low with a single species slightly exceeding a 1-acre threshold based on a midpoint estimate. Efforts to control the woody invasive black locust, Chinese privet, and hardy orange appear to have successfully reduced the cover of these plants across the Memorial Unit. Japanese stiltgrass may have been increasing as recently as 2015, but a combination of recent flooding and control efforts may have stemmed the spread of this invasive grass. Efforts to control localized patches of Chinaberry tree also appear to have reduced the cover of this species. Outside of the problematic species currently subject

Abstract:
In Illinois, hot-mix asphalt overlaid concrete pavements typically exhibit reflective cracking of joints and cracks from the pavement below, resulting in shortened life and maintenance issues. Over the years, various patching, fabric, and crack and seat techniques were attempted with few positive results. This led to more aggressive techniques to eliminate the slab action of the concrete pavement where the pavement would be broken or rubblized into pieces typically less than 12 inches. Since the first rubblizing project in 1990, policy, procedures, and specifications have evolved to the point that rubblization is the mainstream option in dealing with problematic concrete pavements. This report summarizes the performance of several interstate rubblizing projects in Illinois by analyzing available data in Illinois Department of Transportation’s pavement management system. Condition rating survey data allowed the serviceability of these projects to be evaluated by surface mix types and asphalt performance grades. Traffic in the form of 18,000 lb equivalent single axle loads was determined for the projects to evaluate fatigue and rutting as well as compare section performance to the design procedure. The research team reviewed plans, design procedures, and specifications to determine best practices and identify where improvements might be made. Data showed that the use of stone matrix asphalt surface mixtures and mixes using PGXX-28 asphalt binders provides improved performance. Overall, rubblizing has shown good to excellent performance. To provide additional life with improved performance, recommendations include adopting softer asphalt grades, increasing the use of stone matrix asphalt, and improving procedures for protecting culverts.

Abstract:
This master thesis explores the challenges for waste management business models in the field of textiles regarding the requirements of the circular economy, as well as improvement potentials in the current framework conditions. It is concerned with the research question: "Is it advisable to change the frame-work conditions at meso or macro level, with regard to business models for waste management companies in the textile sector that are oriented towards the requirements of the circular economy, and - if so - in what way?” The approach of the study is based on the delta analysis of the e Society for Institutional Analysis at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. It compares the target state of the normative requirements with the actual state of the textile and waste management framework conditions and attempts to identify the gaps (the delta). Based on the delta, it develops approaches that are intended to help reduce the gaps. The thesis develops three business models for the target year 2025 in different areas: an exchange platform for sorters, recyclers and designers, an automatic sorting plant and a plant for fibre-to-fibre recycling of mixed materials. It is becoming clear that these business models cannot meet the target requirements for the circular economy. The analysis identifies the remaining gaps in the framework conditions as the main problem. For example, insufficient innovation impulses and the lack of competitiveness of secondary raw materials inhibit the actors from applying and using new technologies and business models. Restricted access to knowledge and information, as well as a lack of transparency between the actors, also prove to be problematic. In order to answer the research question, the study recommends altering the framework conditions at meso and macro level. It proposes a platform for cooperation between designers, the introduction of a material declaration system and an eco-design guideline for textiles as possible development options. In addition, this work offers a matrix of criteria to help the actors test and improve their new waste management business models regarding their suitability for the circular economy. The analysis is carried out from an outsider's perspective on the entire textile industry. It therefore cannot cover and deal with all aspects and individual circumstances of each player in detail. The necessary changes in the framework conditions that have been identified can therefore be used as a basis for further investigations.
