Abstract:
The article emphasizes that today one of the main vectors of the National Police 'businesses are aimed at preventing offenses, the so-called preventive or preventive activity. In view of this, the terms «preventive activity» and «preventive activity» were investigated in detail, which is carried out by the employees of the National Police of Ukraine. And the purpose of the article is an analysis of preventive measures and preventive measures in the activities of the National Police of Ukraine through the prism of modern legislation, retreating and providing definitions. Thus, having analyzed the current legislation and scientific revision of modern scientists, the author provides author's definitions of these terms. Preventive measures This is a narrower concept under which it is understood clearly defined in the Law or Complex of Police Actions applicable in accordance with the current legislation to ensure the implementation of the requirements that restrict certain rights and freedoms of man and the use of which do not is always associated with an unlawful behavior of specific individuals. In turn, preventive measures are the actions of the police aimed at preventing the offenses and preventing their teaching, eliminating their reasons and conditions that cause them. And concluded that speaking of any prevention measures that are used by policemen to prevent / prevent any kind of offenses it is expedient to use the very term «preventive measures», and the term «preventive measures» is used only in case when it comes to events provided by the Law of Ukraine «On National Police». Because, preventive police and prophylactic measures of the police are different concepts. And in its daily activities, representatives of the National Police of Ukraine must use them appropriate and not confused with each other. Given the fact that this can complicate the daily police officer directed to crime prevention.

Abstract:
Abstract: the need of society for the prevention of offenses is realized by the legislator by the adoption of laws on countering and preventing offenses. The main directions of state policy in the fight against crimes and administrative offenses, such as corruption, extremism, terrorism, illegal migration, illicit drug trafficking, environmental security offences, juvenile delinquency and others, as reflected in the accumulated regulatory framework in this area, including the priority of a preventive approach to offences before punishing them, make it possible to state the need to form a new branch of law – preventive law. The article proposes the institutional structure of preventive law, justifies the allocation of four of its institutions: subjects and other persons of the prevention of offenses, the main areas of prevention of offenses, types of prevention of offenses, forms of preventive influence. The pre-established institutional structure of preventive law stemming from the laws governing preventive legal relations, it will appear as a structural model for the law enforcement officer, as well as the legislator, allowing the latter to approach the improvement of preventive legislation with a systemically important orientation of regulatory legal acts

Abstract:
Diplomacy as a means of communication between states has been and still is the most effective way to achieve the goals set before a state. Special emphasis and importance is given to preventive diplomacy, which day by day occupies an increasingly important place in resolving disputes and preventing conflicts. The legal basis for the application of prevention in the process of prevention or escalation of conflicts is found in the Charter of the United Nations. The overall work of the UN is based on prevention and it promotes mechanisms and instruments for peacekeeping. Establishing a preventive mission is far more cost-effective than taking other post-conflict measures. The real importance of prevention is seen in this segment. In the former parts of the former Yugoslavia that gained independence, preventive diplomacy played a very important role. In the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Republic of Kosovo, in the Republic of Macedonia, there was a need for a preventive mission on their territories. The establishment of the missions of the United Nations, the OSCE, and later of the European Union and the United States of America proved to be a good example of preventing the spread of the conflict and can serve as a model for future prevention missions based on the Balkan experience. The benefits of a preventive mission can be great, both for the host country and for neighboring countries.

Abstract:
Background. The belief that small preventive efforts bring large benefits may explain why many people say they value prevention above all other types of health care. However, it often takes a great deal of preventive medicine to prevent a bad outcome. This study explores whether people value prevention or cure more when each brings the same magnitude of benefit and examines whether preferences for prevention or cure vary according to the severity of the disability of the patients who can receive the preventive or curative intervention. Methods. 289 prospective jurors were presented with a policy dilemma involving how best to allocate funds to benefit people with varying levels of disability. Each project was said to influence the functional ability of 100 nursing home residents, either by improving their level of function or by preventing their level of function from declining. Results. When given a choice between preventive and curative interventions, more subjects preferred the preventive intervention (37% vs 21%, p = 0.002). However, when the strength of people's preferences was taken into account, the preference for preventive interventions was not statistically significant (p = 0.135). With both preventive and curative interventions, the subjects preferred helping patients with more severe disabilities (p < 0.005 for both comparisons). This preference for helping more severely disabled patients did not differ for prevention and cure (p = 0.663). Conclusion. When the magnitude of benefit was held constant, the subjects slightly preferred prevention over cure. In addition, they preferred directing limited resources toward those with greater disabilities, regardless of whether those resources were targeted toward prevention or cure. These findings suggest that previously stated preferences for prevention over cure may result from a belief that small efforts at prevention will be repaid by large reductions in the later need for cure.

Abstract:
On the basis of the norms of administrative law and current legislation analysis, the preventive activities of the National Police on juvenile prevention were investigated. Consideration of the specified problems within the scope of the article allows to expand the traditional approach to juvenile prevention, not only to connect the issue of prevention of offenses with the prevention of criminal offenses among children, but also to develop measures aimed at preventing administrative offenses committed by this category of persons, as well as the implementation of activities, related to the protection of children’s rights. For this purpose, the role of the National Police units for juvenile prevention in the prevention and counteraction of criminal and administrative offenses through the prism of the main tasks that rely on the latter was clarified and disclosed, and measures aimed at improving preventive and prophylactic work to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of children were also highlighted. It has been found that in the context of the formation of the National Police and the creation of a body aimed at providing high-quality police services to the population, juvenile prevention units direct their efforts to ensure and protect the rights of children. It has been proven that the preventive activity of the National Police on juvenile prevention is regulated by the norms of administrative law, the activity of juvenile prevention units, the content of which is preventive and prophylactic work to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of children, prevent children from committing criminal and administrative offenses, identify the causes and conditions that this is facilitated by taking measures to eliminate them, as well as implementing the norms of current legislation in terms of preventing and countering domestic violence committed by and in relation to children, preventing child neglect and carrying out pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses in the form of an inquiry within the scope of competence.

Abstract:
Preventive health strategies are the foundation of managing liver disease. Despite public health initiatives, incorporating preventive measures into clinical practice has not yet been fully achieved. Not only has this led to missed opportunities in preventing decompensation in patients, but it has further increased health care costs associated with end stage liver disease. While resource allocation also plays a role in this, lack of knowledge and awareness among providers significantly contributes to this ongoing issue. This review aims to serve as a comprehensive summary outlining preventive strategies in liver disease for use by providers to better serve their patients. Abstract:
The prevention of crimes and the formation of respect for the law among convicts are the goals of the execution of punishment. In penitentiary institutions that provide isolation from society, these goals are achieved by ensuring the regime of the correctional institution. This article substantiates the position that placing a convicted person on preventive registration is an effective means of preventing crimes in places of deprivation of liberty, which should be understood as a form of special and individual prevention of offenses of convicted persons, which consists of educational and preventive measures against specific convicts and is aimed at correcting them and/or preventing them from committing (possible committing) offenses. When conducting preventive record, a special control is established over the convict by all divisions of the correctional institution; the most professionally trained employee of the penal system is assigned, responsible for carrying out preventive work; specific, individual preventive and preventive measures are being developed aimed at abandoning an antisocial lifestyle and stimulating law-abiding behavior. A number of gaps and mistakes in the regulation of preventive record as a means of preventing crimes are indicated, and measures are proposed to eliminate them, which will help to increase the effectiveness of preventive and precautionary action on convicts.

Abstract:
The research subject is the scope of criminal law principles with double prevention which prevent not only the acts directly prohibited by law, but also other, usually much gravier crimes. The author considers the existing approaches to the definition of the term and the legal essence of principles with double provision. It is noted that the conventional definition is not universal and doesn’t reflect the essence and the mechanism of the preventive action of the principles. In its turn, the insufficient knowledge of the mechanism of preventive action of the principles with double prevention hampers their differentiation and systematization. Using the method of systems analysis and structural-functional analysis as a basis, as well as the dialectical, logical and formal legal methods as additional methods, the author arrives at the conclusion about the existence of two types of legal principles with double prevention which differ in the specificity of the mechanism of preventive action. The first type of principles with double prevention is aimed at preventing criminal deformation of a person at the early stages, while the second one - on the neutralization of criminogenic situations. The author formulates the definition of principles with double prevention which reflects the specificity of the mechanism of preventive action, and systematizes them in order to analyze the practical implementation of principles with double prevention.

Abstract:
Research indicates substance use initiation increases the risk of other youth problem behaviors and substance dependence. Preventing these problematic behaviors through parenting has the potential for avoiding deleterious consequences for youth, their families, and the community. Purpose: This systematic review provides an assessment of parent-focused preventive interventions that are effective in preventing early substance use (SU) and other problem behaviors among youth. Method: A systematic search following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines was conducted to identify prevention studies. Studies were then assessed utilizing the Society for Prevention Research (SPR) efficacy criteria. Results: Ten studies, utilizing 11 preventive interventions, met all inclusion criteria. Discussion: The efficacious interventions emphasized parent skills training and engagement, were school-based, and utilized multiple prevention strategies. The Strengthening Families Program met the most SPR efficacy criteria. This review suggests parenting interventions are effective at preventing early youth SU and other problem behaviors. Implications for social work practice are discussed.

Abstract:
Deviant behavior is the area of research of many sciences; pedagogy is primarily focused on opportunities and resources for its early prevention. One of the actual issues of preventive pedagogy is the analysis of the challenges and mistakes that teachers face with in the process of preventing deviant behavior. The aim of the research: institutional, descriptive-analytical and concretising presentation of scientific data on the main challenges and mistakes made by teachers when preventing deviant behavior among children and young people in a general education school. The main method for collecting empirical information involved a survey of 200 teachers across all the federal regions of the Russian Federation. The novelty of the research lies in the systematisation of challenges and mistakes of teachers in preventing deviant behavior of school students; in obtaining new factual material significant for the optimisation of deviant behavior prevention. The practical significance of the research results consists in clarifying the scientific categories and concepts that develop the idea of the conditions of effectiveness of deviant behavior prevention; specification of deviantological competence of teachers. The results can also be taken into account when developing training, retraining and advanced training programmes for teachers. The results of the study differentiated the challenges teachers face with in preventing deviant behavior among school students (into «general» and «specific deviant-preventive» challenges); identified areas of difficulties; and determined typical preventive mistakes made by teachers.

Abstract:
Ensuring road safety is a complex and multifaceted problem. Therefore, measures to prevent road accidents (hereinafter referred to as road accidents) should be comprehensive. Accident prevention activities directly affect their dynamics. Since the line between them lies in the sphere of consequences, and violations can be and often are completely identical, preventive work aimed at preventing road accidents can be generally qualitatively homogeneous. Organizational support of preventive measures is the content of road accident prevention and it is in their implementation that the specific features of this type of prevention as an independent subsystem of social prevention are revealed. The core of the prevention system is the development and implementation of a set of preventive measures. Prevention of offenses is determined by the general goal of social prevention — to prevent offenses, to prevent antisocial behavior, and is carried out at the same levels, in the same forms and by the same means, taking into account the delicacy. In this area, it is impossible to do without the achievements of technological progress. In all EU member states, without exception, technical means of ensuring road safety have become widely used.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND Intertrochanteric fracture of the femur occurs mostly among older people, and seriously affects daily life and quality of life. At present, physical intervention, drug treatment, routine intervention and rehabilitation training are widely used for prevention of side effects, but it is still inconclusive which intervention has the best effect. AIM To compare the effects of new intervention measures for preventing side effects of artificial joint replacement. METHODS We searched the Chinese and English literatures for comparative studies on the prevention of side effects of new interventions for artificial joint replacement from July 2013 to June 2023 in China HowNet, PubMed, Wanfang, Weipu and other databases. Study quality was evaluated by improved Jadad scoring standard, and the effects of different interventions on preventing different complications were analyzed by meta-analysis of evidence-based medicine with Review Manager 5.0 software. RESULTS Ten articles, including 869 cases, were finally included. The preventive effects of different interventions on the side effects of artificial joint replacement were studied, and valid data were extracted. There were two articles on the preventive effects of drug intervention, four on comparison of the preventive effects of combined and single interventions, and three on the preventive effects of physical intervention, rehabilitation training and routine intervention. Meta-analysis showed that the preventive effect of rivaroxaban was significantly better than low molecular weight heparin calcium [mean difference (MD) = -0.16, 95%CI: -0.28 to -0.04, P < 0.05]. The effect of combined intervention was significantly better than that of single intervention (MD = -0.08, 95%CI: -0.16 to -0.01, P < 0.001). Physical intervention was significantly better than routine intervention and rehabilitation training (MD = 0.26, 95%CI: 0.16–0.36, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION Rivaroxaban combined with rehabilitation training is preferred for preventing deep vein thrombosis after artificial joint replacement. In the prevention of pulmonary embolism, rivaroxaban drug intervention is given priority. The effect of combined intervention is better than that of single intervention.

Abstract:
Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) is a major problem for patients who use chemotherapy and can lower the quality of life for many cancer patients. If the patient is continuing chemotherapy treatment, then the patient can be certain to experience CINV. Current CINV prevention strategies primarily use 5-hydroxytryptamine-3 receptor antagonists (5HT3-RAs), dexamethasone, and/or neurokinin-1 receptor antagonists (NK-1 RAs). However, these preventive therapies have not been fully implemented, especially the use of NK-1 RAs because of the high cost. In addition, a standard therapy for CINV prevention is still not effective in controlling CINV symptoms. One alternative CINV preventive therapy option is to use olanzapine. It is an antipsychotic drug that can be used as a preventive therapy for CINV off-label. The purpose of this study is to explain the utilization of olanzapine as alternative choice of antiemetic therapy in preventing CINV.

Abstract:
The aim of the current study was to understand how the canine heartworm disease preventive ProHeart® 12 (extended-release injectable moxidectin, PH 12), impacts heartworm preventive purchase compliance and veterinary practice revenue over time compared to monthly heartworm disease preventives. This was a preliminary observational purchase compliance and revenue study based on a retrospective review of transaction data from 4,615 general practices across the United States. The review period was from September 2018 to August 2020. Anonymous transaction records of over 13 million canine patients were analyzed. Of these, only 3.5 million (25.7%) patients purchased any heartworm preventive, as has been presented in other studies. Practices that implemented PH 12 demonstrated the most growth in canine heartworm prevention revenue, patients, and patient compliance levels during the 12-month observation period, compared to previous year. These practices saw year over year growth in percent patients receiving heartworm protection, as well as 10% and 15% growth in the proportion of preventive patients compliant for more than 6 months and 12 months respectively. In contrast, practices that did not bring on PH 12 and only dispensed monthly heartworm preventives saw a decline in the proportion of canine preventive patients that were compliant for more than 6 months. Similarly, PH 12 practices experienced 15% growth in preventive revenue, and practices that did not bring on PH 12 only experienced 3.9% growth in preventive revenue. PH 12 was single-handedly responsible for all growth in patients compliant for more than 6 months in this study. Growth in protection of canine patients with PH 12 proves a helpful tool where mitigation strategies have thus far failed to curb increasing canine heartworm disease prevalence in the US.

Abstract:
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the level of dementia knowledge and behaviors recognized as dementia-preventive and the practice thereof among healthy older adults who are highly motivated to engage in activities. Methods: The participants were older adults registered at the Silver Human Resource Center of city A, and participants anonymously filled questionnaires through the aggregation method in January 2020. Results: The analysis included 78 participants (the effective response rate was 49.7%). All participants were aware of at least 4 dementia-preventive behaviors, and about 80% of all participants practiced at least 1 preventive behavior. Approximately 20% of participants were not practicing preventive behaviors at all. The elderly aged 65 to 74 years had more knowledge about dementia and more types of behavior perceived as dementia-preventive than the elderly aged 75 years and older. There was no significant correlation between the level of dementia knowledge and the number of types of dementia-preventive behaviors. Conclusions: Healthy older adults were aware of numerous behaviors for dementia prevention, and most older adults practiced preventive behaviors. In contrast, even with a high amount of knowledge about dementia, a small number of healthy older adults did not translate this knowledge into preventative behavioral practices. High levels of dementia knowledge do not translate into preventive behavioral practices.

Modern legislation on the implementation of the supervisory function by Rostrud is aimed at preventing violations of labor rights. It is proved that these measures constitute the main purpose of state supervision, that is, the prevention of violations of labor rights and their subsequent protection, and not only the protection of labor rights on the revealed facts of their violation. Preventive measures are carried out by Rostrud in accordance with the Harm Risk Prevention Programs. The article analyzes the data of the program for 2018–2021, in which the main direction of preventive work is to increase the awareness of the population in the field of protection of labor rights and compliance with labor legislation. The author investigates the ways of informing employers and employees about the observance of mandatory labor requirements. An analysis of the new Federal Law “On State Control (Supervision) and Municipal Control in the Russian Federation” allowed the author to propose a classification of Rostrud's preventive measures into mandatory and additional measures.

They worked in a reference hospital for infectious and contagious diseases. The data was collected from March to October 2011, using the oral story technique, and the subjects were twenty-three health professionals who looked after people suffering from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome during the above mentioned period. The content analysis described by Bardin was used and two categories came up: the need for preventive strategies and the lack of using condoms. The results showed that the health professionals' perception about AIDS prevention was bad due to: the media fragility, the health professionals' actions regarding preventive strategies and the trivialization of the preventive measures by the society, by not using condoms in sexual intercourse. We concluded that ignoring the disease led to slowing down the process of clarifying and preventing HIV/AIDS.

Abstract:
The article examines the tasks of the National Police of Ukraine as a subject of implementation of the preventive function of the state. It is emphasized that the tasks of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine are an important component of determining the specifics of its activities and administrative and legal status, as the effective implementation of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine depends on a clear legislative understanding of its tasks as body of state power. It is noted that the implementation of the tasks of the National Police in Ukraine means that policing is based on the principles enshrined in current legislation, taking into account current trends in European integration. The principles as guiding ideas that underlie the functioning of each police body and unit are designed to promote the further development of the police as a European-style institution. In turn, the tasks of the police determine the means of policing, based on the relevant principles. It is emphasized that the main tasks of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine are to organize and ensure within the competence of the National Police of Ukraine the functions of Ukrainian legislation to maintain public safety and order, protect human rights and freedoms, and individual preventive work aimed at preventing the commission of administrative and criminal offenses, preventing and combating domestic violence, escorting persons detained on suspicion of committing a criminal offense, taken into custody, accused, sentenced to arrest or imprisonment, and for a term of imprisonment in the courtroom. It was emphasized that the general tasks of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine include: ensuring public safety and public order; protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the interests of society and the state; providing, within the limits established by law, services to assist persons who, for personal, economic, social reasons or due to emergencies, need such assistance. It is noted that the special tasks of the Department of Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine include: implementation of state policy in the field of combating violence; preventive measures; introduction of programme preventive means for systematization of violent incidents, general and individual preventive work aimed at preventing the commission of administrative and criminal offenses, prevention and counteraction to domestic violence.

Abstract:
The author analyzes the preventive measures that are applied to minors sentenced to punishments without isolation from society, shows their importance in achieving the goals of correcting convicted persons and preventing the commission of new crimes. The preventive part of the activity of specialized courts for minors is considered. The forms and methods of preventive work carried out by criminal executive inspectorates with minors sentenced to punishments not related to imprisonment are investigated, each of the measures is checked for compliance with international standards for the prevention of general crime and the prevention of juvenile delinquency. Conclusions are drawn about the effectiveness of each of the measures, the feasibility of their application in practice on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of these measures. It is argued that the effectiveness of these measures is determined through the inclusion of preventive measures in the system, because all these measures should always be applied in an integrated manner. Special attention is paid to the practice of juvenile courts in the Russian Federation. In these courts, judges are specially trained to work with minors and are well aware of the peculiarities of their behavior, including unlawful behavior, and administer justice. It is noted that the activities of juvenile courts have a positive effect on the organization of preventive work in this area. It is argued that the system of measures of criminal law and penal enforcement should not be perceived as the main one, because preventive work should be carried out with such minors who have not committed a crime, as well as with those adolescents who have already served their sentences. Keywords: prevention, juvenile convicts, punishment without isolation from society, juvenile justice.

Abstract:
The move towards prevention in domestic anti-terror law and policy was initially justified as an exceptional response to the exceptional threat of transnational terrorism following September 11, 2001. However, commonalities are discernable between prevention in anti-terror law and prevention as employed in other areas of Australian law. To begin contextualising and analysing preventive practices in Australia, a framework is required. ‘The preventive state’ provides one way to view the collection of preventive measures employed in Australia. Engaging a governmentality perspective has the potential to make visible prevention and pre-emption in law and governance, and to inform critical treatment of the preventive state itself. Whether and how prevention and pre-emption in anti-terror law differ from and exhibit continuities with other preventive measures has the potential to expose issues of selectivity and proportionality between preventive measures and force consideration of the limits of state action to prevent or pre-empt harm.

Abstract:
This study aims to assess the practice of diarrhoea disease prevention measures among caregivers to enhance the effectiveness of prevention strategies. Diarrhoea disease poses a significant health risk, particularly among children, and caregivers play a crucial role in preventing its occurrence. However, the actual practice of diarrhoea disease prevention measures among caregivers is not well understood. Understanding the current practices and identifying areas for improvement can inform targeted interventions and educational programs to enhance the effectiveness of prevention strategies. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with mixed methods analysis. A sample of 302 households with caregivers of children aged 6-24 months. In-depth interviews and structured questionnaires were employed for data collection entered into SPSS. Descriptive analysis, multivariate logistic regression, independent samples t-test, chi-square test, and qualitative thematic analysis were employed for data analysis. The findings revealed the level of adherence to preventive measures among caregivers and identified specific areas where improvements are needed. The study contributes to the understanding of caregivers’ practices in preventing diarrhoea diseases and highlights the necessity for targeted interventions to improve adherence to preventive measures. By identifying specific areas for improvement, healthcare providers and policymakers can design educational programs and interventions that address the gaps in practice, ultimately reducing the incidence of diarrhoea diseases among children. The study recommends incorporating visual charts as an intervention strategy to improve caregivers’ practice of diarrhoea disease prevention measures. Visual charts can effectively enhance adherence to preventive measures among caregivers, ultimately reducing the prevalence of diarrhoea in children.

Abstract:
The techniques for preventing risk have traditionally been analyzed on an individual basis, it being highly complex to apply preventive procedures across the board in construction works. This implies the necessary risk assessment based on the common factors of Safety at Work, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics and Psychosociology. This work analyzes and classifies the environments which characterize the building process: absolute (initial), documentary, construction, social and life cycle, and identifies the technical-documentary processes associated with each one. Finally, a new risk assessment method adapted to building works is proposed, called “Level of Preventive Action”, by means of a new mathematical formula which encompasses Safety at Work, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomic and Psychosociological factors. It is based upon the development of the William T. Fine method, adapting it to construction works, with the incorporation of six parameters to explain the degree of correction. It consolidates and connects environment parameters to determine the preventive action level of the construction work, with the objective of establishing the levels of preventive control required to achieve an optimum prevention situation. The results of comparison between the environments in the implementation of the new risk assessment methodology during the construction process in a real building work are shown.

Abstract:
Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder presenting with defects in social communication skills and repetitive sensory motor behaviour. There has been increasing concern regarding this disorder due to its increase in incidence and prevalence in recent years. Since it stays for lifelong and has no specific pharmacological treatment, many studies are being conducted to find ways of preventing this disorder. Better understanding of the causative factors will lead to better development of prevention strategies. This review aims at highlighting the methods of prevention of ASD which are mostly focussed on the environmental factors causing ASD as well as the ongoing researches on development of drugs and genetic modification using animal models. Some studies have shown preventive effects of factors such as nutrition supplements such as Vitamin D and folate, breastfeeding and avoiding exposure to harmful chemicals and drugs. The aim is to prevent the occurrence of the disorder and preventing the severity of symptoms wherever possible. Still more studies are needed to establish the exact association between the possible causative factors and ASD so that clinical trials can be done to establish the preventive effects in future.

The author emphasizes the need to take into account the psychological component in the issues of rule-making and direct practical activities of district police officers, community police officers, and juvenile prevention units in matters of interaction with the subjects of crime prevention. It is argued that the effectiveness of preventive work depends on the targeted impact of the officials responsible for this area, as well as on the establishment of their interaction. The tasks of crime prevention are defined as follows: prevention of new and recurrent offenses; protection of people from the harmful effects of factors contributing to the commission of potential offenses; creation of a specific legal atmosphere of legality in society. Proposals are made to improve the administrative and legal regulation of interaction between these units and territorial communities. The author defines the role of civil society in this process and the peculiarities of its interaction with the police. The concept of crime prevention by the National Police is defined as a purposeful activity of police units which is comprehensive in nature and is aimed at preventing and eliminating all the existing factors which may potentially negatively affect the crime situation, public safety and order in the respective territories. The social and psychological factors of ineffective reforms related to police decentralization are analyzed. The author argues that it is expedient to enshrine at the regulatory level the powers of territorial communities to plan preventive measures. It is emphasized that crime prevention should be multidirectional, systemic, comprehensive and cross-cutting in nature with the interaction of all stakeholders and the coordinating role of the preventive activity units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Abstract:
Background: While a population-wide strategy involving lifestyle changes and a high-risk strategy involving pharmacological interventions have been described, the recently proposed personalized medicine approach combining both strategies for the prevention of hypertension has increasingly gained attention. However, a cost-effectiveness analysis has been hardly addressed. This study was set out to build a Markov analytical decision model with a variety of prevention strategies in order to conduct an economic analysis for tailored preventative methods. Methods: The Markov decision model was used to perform an economic analysis of four preventative strategies: usual care, a population-based universal approach, a population-based high-risk approach, and a personalized strategy. In all decisions, the cohort in each prevention method was tracked throughout time to clarify the four-state model-based natural history of hypertension. Utilizing the Monte Carlo simulation, a probabilistic cost-effectiveness analysis was carried out. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio was calculated to estimate the additional cost to save an additional life year. Results: The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICER) for the personalized preventive strategy versus those for standard care were -USD 3317 per QALY gained, whereas they were, respectively, USD 120,781 and USD 53,223 per Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY) gained for the population-wide universal approach and the population-based high-risk approach. When the ceiling ratio of willingness to pay was USD 300,000, the probability of being cost-effective reached 74% for the universal approach and was almost certain for the personalized preventive strategy. The equivalent analysis for the personalized strategy against a general plan showed that the former was still cost-effective. Conclusions: To support a health economic decision model for the financial evaluation of hypertension preventative measures, a personalized four-state natural history of hypertension model was created. The personalized preventive treatment appeared more cost-effective than population-based conventional care. These findings are extremely valuable for making hypertension-based health decisions based on precise preventive medication.

Abstract:
The aim of this paper was to highlight how developmental psychopathology, epigenetics and prevention experiments are starting to blend together to explain the developmental causes of chronic physical aggression (CPA) and, more importantly, to help prevent CPA and its associated physical, mental and social problems. After defining the keywords (prevention, chronic and physical aggression), a selected review of published studies is used to answer the following four questions: when should we attempt to prevent onset of CPA? What are the risk factors for CPA? Have early childhood interventions been shown to prevent CPA? Can early preventive interventions benefit from epigenetic studies? The last section of this paper gives two examples of experimental prevention designs that integrate present knowledge of CPA development, risk factors, early childhood preventive interventions and epigenetic programming of brain development during pregnancy and early childhood. I conclude that randomized control trials of preventive interventions during pregnancy and early childhood with a specific focus on epigenetic effects are the research design most likely to advance our understanding of the biopsychosocial mechanisms that lead to CPA, and the only research design that can identify effective interventions for preventing the development of CPA.

Abstract:
People living with type 1 Diabetes (T1D) and their families have poor perception of health related quality of life. Therapies for T1D are becoming better with time, but they still involve a lot of effort. Prevention of T1D, if successful, has potential to change lives of millions of families across the globe. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease with underlying genetic predisposition for autoimmunity against beta cell antigens upon exposure to an environmental trigger. Identifying underlying primary antigen responsible for initiating autoimmune cascade, avoiding environmental trigger and modifying immunity has all been used as strategies for preventing or delaying onset of type 1 diabetes. Primary prevention for type 1 diabetes is hindered by difficulty in identifying at-risk population and also due to lack of effective preventive strategy. Secondary prevention, in children with presence of autoimmunity, has recently received a boost with approval of Teplizumab, an immunity modifying drug by its Anti-CD3 action. Application of preventive strategies would also change based on country specific incidence, prevalence and availability of health resources. In current review, an update on preventive strategies for type 1 diabetes is being discussed as well as their applicability in Indian context.

Abstract:
COVID-19 is a current sensational and dangerous threat that affects millions of people across the world. As the day progresses the rate of growth of COVID-19 drastically increases. No vaccine or specific antiviral drug are active against corona, therefore, preventing the exposure to the virus is the base of support against its spread across the world. Despite the implementation of preventive measures, the rate of virus-infected cases progressively increases which stimulates our thought process to raise a question, whether the preventive measures that we follow are effective against the spread of COVID-19 infection. Evidence from previous literature obtained from various online tools implies multiple preventive measures that should be followed and also illustrates their mechanism of action against the active spread of COVID-19 infection. According to the results from the evidence, we can identify the gold standard preventive measure among the described preventive measures. The precautionary measure encompasses both pharmaceutical interventions and non- pharmaceutical interventions among which non-pharmaceutical measures are superior in the prevention of the developing pandemic. Among the non-pharmaceutical interventions, social distancing is the paramount to other measures in the mitigation of the spread of viral infection.
