Jin, Jionghua. "Individual Station Monitoring Using Press Tonnage Sensors for Multiple Operation Stamping Processes." Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering 126, no. 1 (February 1, 2004): 83–90. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/1.1643749.

Full text
Abstract:
In multiple operation stamping processes, a press tonnage signal measured by press tonnage sensors installed on press linkages/uprights, is the summation of die forces at all stations. Different from the current practice of using a whole cycle of press tonnage signals to monitor the compound condition of all stations, this paper proposes a new method to use the partitioned monitoring segments of press tonnage signals to monitor individual station conditions. For this purpose, a generic signal segmentation principle is proposed, and the Hotelling T2 control charts are developed with consideration of the interactions among stations. A real case study of a doorknob stamping process is provided to demonstrate analysis procedures and effectiveness of the developed methodology.

Abstract:
The press station is the main station for quoting oil from the pulp of palm oil (CPO). In the screw press, there are several things that need to be considered in order to determine the success of the extraction process, namely the percentage level of oil losses which is one of the benchmarks for the success of extraction at the press station. Some things that can affect the percentage level of oil losses at the press station are the amount of pressure on the press machine and the level of chopping blades in the digester. This observation is carried out by direct observation method at PT. Palmina Utama, using a purposive sampling method.samples taken for the analysis of oil losses at this press station are in the form of fiber, the persentage value of oil losses is determined by exstraction using soxhlet with n-hexane solvent. Samples for analysis were taken from five press machines at the press station in the form of fiber and taken three times each at three points, namely the left side, the middle side and the right side with an interval of two hours, then the samples were mixed and weighed as much as nine to ten gram. The highest oil losses in February were 4.48% and the lowest losses during February were 4.105%. Based on statistical analysis, that F-Count is smaller than F-table 5% and 1%. Thus, pressure does not affect at the percentage of oil losses.

Abstract:
A transfer or progressive die process consists of multiple stations working simultaneously in each stroke. This paper aims to develop a new methodology that can decompose press tonnage signals to obtain individual station signals without using in-die sensors. In the paper, two different tonnage decomposition tests, as well as the associated data analysis algorithms, are developed. Statistical profile analyses and an in-die sensor test were conducted to validate the proposed methodology.

Abstract:
Hydraulic stretch forming is a very important technology. Punch press has achieved multi-station automatic processing in the press area, which has greatly improved the efficiency. However, the main domestic stretching machine is single-stretching hydraulic machine at present. Compared with punch press, hydraulic stretching machines take less space and have better security, but they make less efficiency and have lower degree of automation. Hence, in order to take the advantage of hydraulic stretching machines and enhance the automation level, studies on multi-position automatic stretching machine occupies an important position. This paper proposes a design scheme of Six-station Automatic Hydraulic Stretching Machine (SAHSM) according to the practical production. The overall 3D structure of SAHSM is designed based on Solidworks to prove the theoretical possibility of the program. Then modal analysis is operated based on FEA of the key components of stretching machine module to improve reliability of the product and overcome the disadvantage of the traditional checking method, the first two-order modes are obtained to prove the impossibility of the resonance. At last, ADAMS-based virtual prototype is analyzed to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the SAHSM dynamic design proposed in this paper

Abstract:
This study is part of a research project aims at off-line programming and verification of industrial control systems. In this paper, an off-line method for press line throughput rate optimization and control system verification is proposed, implemented and evaluated. The main tool is a virtual press station, developed by the first author, consisting of an emulated control system for a feeder/extractor robot which communicates with 3D-simulated production equipment. Moreover, several virtual press stations have been coupled and synchronized in a virtual press line. An important feature of the system is that the virtual robot controller is emulated, yielding an exact representation of the control logic and the possibility to run the entire system in virtual real time. The application considered is a sheet metal forming process where it is difficult to achieve maximum capacity utilization. There is much to gain if the control logic is improved and the throughput rate is increased. For this purpose, an automated robot motion optimization method is implemented and evaluated, using the virtual press line.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of an intermediate stage of a comprehensive study of information radio broadcasting. Using a content analysis, the authors study the morning broadcast of all-news radio stations Business FM, Vesti FM and Kommersant FM in the period of May 14–20, 2018. The criteria for the analysis include genre and theme preferences, time-line, expressive means, the structure of information sessions, formats and forms of the news programs, the work of radio hosts and reporters, and others. According to the results of the research, Business FM and Kommersant FM broadcast informational programs rather than analytical ones, while Vesti FM includes long live analytical talk-programs in its running order, which dilutes the informational format of the radio station. The programs of the informational genre are mainly informational message, press review, and mail review. The state radio station Vesti FM still broadcasts radio reports, while the two independent radio stations have stopped using them in favor of the so-called «package». Vesti FM focuses mostly on issues of international politics and social problems, whereas the commercial stations Business FM and Kommersant FM prefer mainly internal and international politics and economic problems. All the three-radio stations do not fully use the expressive means of radio; the key ones are the voice and underscoring.

Abstract:
This article investigates the long-term consequences of the printing press in the nineteenth century sub-Saharan Africa on social capital nowadays. Protestant missionaries were the first to import the printing press and to allow the indigenous population to use it. We build a new geocoded dataset locating Protestant missions in 1903. This dataset includes, for each mission station, the geographic location and its characteristics, as well as the printing-, educational-, and health-related investments undertaken by the mission. We show that, within regions close to missions, proximity to a printing press is associated with higher newspaper readership, trust, education, and political participation. Abstract:
In this article, the author studies the current state of the system of direct financial support of the media in Luxembourg and further prospects for its development. Direct government support for the press has existed in the Grand Duchy since 1976. In accordance with the law for the promotion of the print media, newspapers receive subsidies, however, the press subsidy system is currently in the process of reforming. In 2017, grants for online media were first made available. In addition, discussions are underway to change the criteria for receiving financial assistance: if before the amount of the subsidy depended on the volume of publication (number of published pages), in the future it will depend on the number of journalists in the editorial office and, possibly, on the circulation or number of subscribers. Since 2021, the government plans, like press support, to allocate subsidies for RTL TV channels, but this decision is often criticized, because it is essentially a monopolization of RTL and threatens the disappearance of economically weaker broadcast stations, such as “L’essentiel Radio”, “Radio 100,7”. In this regard, many politicians are in favor of expanding the social and legal media sector, which is currently represented in the Grand Duchy only by the socio-cultural radio station “Radio 100,7”. In general, direct state support of the press (and from 2021 on television), which exists in Luxembourg, on the one hand, is one of the guarantees for the survival of economically weak media in a small market, on the other hand, it can be a danger to their political independence.

Abstract:
The history of women’s programming at the Irish television station Teilifís Éireann has long been neglected within the historiography of Irish television. Seminal studies within the field have focused quite specifically on the institutional history of the Irish station and have not paid much attention to programming. This is particularly true in regards to women’s programmes. This paper addresses this gap in the literature by demonstrating a methodological approach for reconstructing this lost segment of programming using the example of Home for Tea, a women’s magazine programme that ran on TÉ from 1964 to 1966. It was the network’s flagship women’s programme during this period but is completely absent from within the scholarship on Irish television. Drawing on the international literature on the history of women’s programmes this paper utilises press sources to reconstruct the Home for Tea’s content and discourse around it. It argues that, though Home for Tea has been neglected, a reconstruction of the programme illuminates wider themes of the everyday at Teilifís Éireann, such as a middle-class bias and the treatment of its actors. As such, its reconstruction, and that of other similar programmes, are exceptionally important in moving towards a more holistic history of the Irish station.

The person in the dangerous situation can press the button and the transmitter starts transmitting the location. The data is then transferred to the receiver via a network built by WLAN module which is also made by us. The WLAN module consists of the transmitter and the receiver and acts as repeater stations. These transmitters and receivers also contain the LoRa module. The LoRa module is Incorporated because of its long range communication specifications. The repeater station is placed buoy the help of buoys. Buoys are floating objects which are then anchored to make them stationary. The receiver is a portable one and dynamically we can get the location of the transmitter. Hence we can locate the person and then rescue them Keywords: LoRa, WLAN, GPS module,

AbstractThe language policy of Turkey’s state-run Kurdish television station (TRT Kurdî) allows for Kurdish-Turkish hybridity, which reflects common practice among Turkish Kurds (Schluter, Anne. 2014. Competing or compatible language identities in Istanbul’s Kurmanji workplaces? In Kristina Kamp, Ayhan Kaya, Fuat Keyman & Özge Onursal-Beşgül (eds.), Contemporary Turkey at a Glance. Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Local and Trans-local Dynamics, 125–137. Wiesbaden, Germany: Springer.) and promotes ownership among minority language speakers (Hinnenkamp, Volker. 2003. Mixed language varieties of migrant adolescents and the discourse of hybridity. Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development 24(1–2). 12–41.). Nevertheless, the mixing of Turkish and apparent disregard for Kurdish language rules has led some of the target audience to reject the station (Öpengin, Ergin. 2012. Sociolinguistic situation of Kurdish in Turkey: Sociopolitical factors and language use patterns. International Journal of the Sociology of Language 217. 151–180.). Such attention to form, according to (Lemon, Alaina. 2002. Form and function in Soviet stage Romani: Modeling metapragmatics through performance institutions. Language in Society 31. 29–64.) is usually reserved for minority language activists and dominant language speakers whereas marginalized minority language speakers frequently focus on function. Through semi-structured interviews with twenty politically engaged Kurdish migrants of Istanbul, the current study investigated metalinguistic criticisms about the station to deconstruct perceptions of the suitability of a hybrid Kurdish broadcasting language in relation to findings from (Lemon, Alaina. 2002. Form and function in Soviet stage Romani: Modeling metapragmatics through performance institutions. Language in Society 31. 29–64.) and (Hinnenkamp, Volker. 2003. Mixed language varieties of migrant adolescents and the discourse of hybridity. Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development 24(1–2). 12–41.). In contrast to (Hinnenkamp, Volker. 2003. Mixed language varieties of migrant adolescents and the discourse of hybridity. Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development 24(1–2). 12–41.), participants viewed linguistic hybridity on TRT Kurdî as iconic (Irvine, Judith & Susan Gal. 2000. Language ideology and linguistic differentiation. In Paul V. Kroskrity (ed.), Regimes of language: ideologies, politics, and identities, 35–84. Santa Fe, NM: School of American Research Press.) of the Turkish state’s agenda to assimilate its Kurdish population. Furthermore, the transfer of this agenda onto a sub-group within the same in-group, TRT Kurdî’s producers, provided evidence of fractal recursivity (Irvine, Judith & Susan Gal. 2000. Language ideology and linguistic differentiation. In Paul V. Kroskrity (ed.), Regimes of language: ideologies, politics, and identities, 35–84. Santa Fe, NM: School of American Research Press.). Results call for a broadening of Lemon (2002) to allow for the inclusion of a larger portion of minority language-speaking populations whose language, similar to the Istanbul-resident Kurdish community profiled in the current study, has been deeply politicized.

Abstract:
The split between Liberals and Catholics marked a long period of public and political life in Slovenia. An important role in the outbreak and maintenance of this conflict was played by the leading press of the time. The Russian emigrants who had sought refuge in Slovenia soon found themselves caught in the crossfire between the two camps. Of the stories about Russian emigrants published in the interbellum press (Jutro, Slovenec, Slovenski Narod), public interest concentrated on the events accompanying the eviction of Russian students from the Ljubljana Castle. Two other notable events were Bishop Jeglič’s pre-election visit to the Russian shanties near the Ljubljana railway station and Fran Grivec’s lecture in support of Russian refugees. These stories, by which each camp sought to demonstrate (mainly to the other) the high level of its local ‘pro-Russian’ stance, were intended as proof of their wider ‘Slavic’ policies.

Abstract:
This inductive study emphasizes the impact that the penetration of the internet and social networks has had on the Ecuadorian media; In addition, it makes a historical recount, reviews recent indicators on the Ecuadorian radio, television and press, and takes as a reference four cases from Cuenca, Ecuador: the newspapers El Mercurio and El Tiempo, and the Modulated Amplitude, radio station Ondas Azuayas and La Voz del Tomebamba. The financial statements of these four companies show the economic decline between 2009 and 2019, and the results of a quantitative research, through a survey applied in November 2020 to 405 people, show the growing preference of users of digital media. that confirms the crisis of the traditional press. The analysis also raises the need to implement adjustments in business models, introduce new strategies and content to report, review the training of journalists in training and evaluate in the future the news ventures that have arisen in the beginning of the second decade of the second millennium.

They point-out that it cannot be reduced to the famous episode of the Katyń massacre while he avoided death being sent to the Gwiezdowo station in the neighbourhood of the mass graves – the only one such a case. While settled in Vilnius, after the Bolshevik’s revolution, he became a Professor of the Stefan Batory University, dealing with the Soviet studies, history of ideas and economic thought. In the article – very little known – journalistic essays are overviewed as published by Swianiewicz in pre-war Vilnius press and dealing with the issue of the national and religious minorities of the Polish Eastern Borderlands.

Abstract Experimental plots measuring 2 rows (30-inch row spacing) by 50 ft were planted on 12 May in a Waukegan silt loam soil at the University of Minnesota Agricultural Research Station, Rosemount. Treatments were arranged in a RCBD with 4 replications. Granular insecticides were applied with a modified Noble applicator at planting, either banded ahead of the press wheel or in furrow. Postemergence (25 Jun) sidedress applications of liquid insecticides were made with a CO2-powered backpack sprayer at 20 gpa. Percent lodging was determined on 16 Aug. On 25 Aug, 5 roots from each plot were dug, washed, and rated using the Iowa 1-6 scale (with half-point increments for higher sensitivity).

Abstract:
Abstract. In order to solve the problems of the failure of disposable tip insertion which happens in the pipetting process of most multi-station and high-throughput pipetting devices, this paper proposes a high-rigidity screw-type pipette shaft–disposable tip assembly mechanism with excellent auto-centering effects based on the principle of the ball screw drive. The stiffness model of the new pipetting device is established, and its stiffness and axial deformation are analyzed. This new mechanism was introduced to a multi-station and high-throughput pipetting workstation, and the process of pipetting disposable tips is simulated by ANSYS software. The analytical results show that the stiffness value of the new pipetting device is approximately 90 N/µm, and the amount of deformation of the z-axis manipulator is reduced by about 60 % compared to the original pipetting device. Finally, physical verification of the prototype was carried out in the work. The test results show that the new pipetting workstation can increase the tightening rate of the tips by approximately 12 % after optimization when 96 tips are inserted in a single press. In addition, the pass rate of the tightness test of the optimized pipetting workstation has increased by approximately 20 %.

Abstract:
In 1985 two intelligence agencies of the South Korean Government announced that they had successfully disrupted a North Korean spy ring operating in the United States. Their press release, which was widely publicized in the Korean press, named Chang-Sin Lee as a North Korean agent associated with a spy ring at Western Illinois University, where Lee had been a student. The story was picked up and reported in the United States by six Korean-American newspapers and a public television station. When Lee sued for libel, the defendants relied upon the official report privilege, which gives absolute protection to the accurate republication of official government reports. The district court, holding that the privilege applied and that Lee had not overcome it by showing malice, dismissed the case. Plaintiff appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which in a two to one decision reversed (per Ervin, J.) and held: that the official report privilege does not apply to the republication of official reports of foreign governments. Judge Kaufman, sitting by designation, dissented from the majority’s reversal of the district court’s grant of summary judgment.

Abstract:
Abstract Petroleum and natural gas still have their place among the most important resources in many industrial areas. Their global consumption influences an increasing demand on the quality of drilling works and the efficiency of extraction. Nonetheless, even in this field of human activity, we can encounter exceptional events and accidents. One of the most serious kinds of accidents during exploration is the so called open eruption of extracted medium. The specific case of this accident is an open eruption caused by drilling tools when a working crew is not capable of securing drilling workplace. In order to solve this emergency situation, Main Mining Rescue Station Hodonin (HBZS Hodonin), in cooperation with researchers from Faculty of Mining and Geology at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, designed and developed specialised apparatus DPRP (Drill Pipe Rescue Press), working designation FIB-1. This apparatus enables the liquidation of eruption by pressing the drilling pipe. The residual crack, which remains following the pressing, must be eliminated by sealing materials. This paper reviews the testing of sealing elements (materials), designed by our team, in residual crack of circle shape with help of hydraulic press MTS 816 Rock Test System.

Abstract:
The first co-ordinated international efforts for refugee protection were a direct response to the Russian exodus that had followed the 1917 revolution and the subsequent Civil War. The Russians who had left their homeland lived in exile with no legal rights, in great misery and deprivation, as the Russian ‘problem’ clearly exceeded the capacities of the existing humanitarian organisations. Difficult circumstances and poverty similarly afflicted the majority of those Russians who found refuge in Slovenia. The situation of the Russian refugees and the humanitarian role played by the Roman Catholic Church in that period came under the spotlight of Slovenian press. The latter gave detailed reports of Bishop Jeglič’s visit to the barracks at Ljubljana’s central train station, where many Russian refugees had been housed.

Abstract:
Water resistance of natural and artificial building materials is usually estimated by the softening coefficient. However, in the course of operation, materials, for example, for building enclosing structures, are rarely subjected to complete dewatering or water saturation. Therefore, one of the most important criteria for the durability of such products is their resistance to atmospheric influences (alternate wetting and drying resistance). In the present work, the possibility of increasing the alternate wetting and drying resistance of press-formed composites based on a modified gypsum binder is studied. We have developed a complex modifier of the gypsum binder and the structure of the resulting pressed composites, consisting of carbonate-containing slime of chemical water purification of thermoelectric power station and monoammonium phosphate. We studied the effect of the modifier on changes in the compressive strength of pressed composites in the dried and water-saturated state, softening and atmospheric durability coefficients, as well as linear deformations of control samples after a set number of cycles of alternating wetting and drying. We found that press-formed composites based on a modified gypsum binder are highly resistant to alternating wetting and drying. The complex modifier provides the formation of a more solid and monolithic structure of fine-crystalline calcium sulfate dihydrate, additionally reinforced with a hardly soluble phosphate-carbonate framework. The proposed method of modifying the gypsum binder prevents loosening of the structure of the press-formed stone-like material made from it under alternating stresses, reduces linear deformations and, as a result, slows down its fatigue failure. The technical characteristics of the obtained materials are sufficient for their use, in particular, in building enclosing structures.

Abstract:
This article explored the development of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Thailand between 2015 and 2020. This research aimed to study the main players and examine their goals, strategies, and operations in the EV charging business as well as the key issues that these charging operators have encountered in developing charging stations. The authors collected qualitative data (direct interviews with managers, video interviews, news, research articles, industry reports and press releases of EV charging operators) and used a constant comparison approach to analyze the data. The study found that after 2015, the Thai government created technology-push policies to kick-start the investment in the EV charging station business (such as subsidies for charging stations, setting a temporary selling price for electricity and building an EV charging consortium). The main players in the Thai charging business include: (1) oil and gas companies; (2) electricity state enterprises; (3) green energy companies; (4) start-ups; and (5) automotive companies. The goals of investing in the charging business for the oil and gas incumbents were to find a new growth engine and to prepare for the potential disruption in the energy sector whereas the green energy companies and start-ups wanted to capture customer bases in this promising industry. These players tended to use a partnership strategy to expand charging networks at key locations (malls, restaurants, offices). Regarding the key issues in expanding the EV charging network, the operators suggested that the high upfront investment costs, small number of EV users, and the high electricity prices (from the demand charge and usage guarantee fee) make them ‘wait-and-see’ and cautiously expand the charging network. Finally, we found that the government tried to address the constraints by setting up a national EV policy committee to accelerate EV adoption and EV charging stations in Thailand. The committee also set a fixed and reduced electricity price for charging operators.
