Lik i delo Miloja Vasića predstavljaju skup čpoštovanih opštih mestač srpske arheologije. Uzdignut na pijedestal rodonačelnika discipline s ikoničnim značajem, Miloje M. Vasić (1869-1956) se među srpskim arheolozima i u široj javnosti doživljava u skladu s opšteprihvaćenim i stereotipiziranim kanonom: da je u pitanju velikan srpske nauke, prvi srpski školovani arheolog, dugogodišnji profesor arheologije na Filozofskom fakultetu, upravnik Narodnog muzeja i istraživač jednog od najznačajnijih praistorijskih lokaliteta u Srbiji, neolitske Vinče. Namera mi je bila da radove Miloja M. Vasića iz perioda 1900-1908. pročitam u kombinovanom internalističko-eksternalistič- kom ključu istorije discipline, ali i da njegove lične motive i dileme i protumačim bez naslaga uobičajenih poštovanih opštih mesta. Još od 1906. Miloje Vasić marljivo izgrađuje svoju paradigmu u kojoj sve praistorijske lokalitete iz šire oblasti srpskog Podunavlja tumači u ključu egejskog sveta. Pri tome praistoriju na srpskom tlu ne smatra samo bledim odrazom udaljene mediteranske svetlosti, već punopravnim, mada siromašnijim ogrankom egejske porodice. Sva Vasićeva potonja pogrešna hronološka podešavanja i snižavanja datiranja Vinče i drugih praistorijskih lokaliteta isključivo su bila u funkciji izgrađivanja i učvršćivanja tog izmaštanog modela egejskog sveta na Dunavu i njegovog približavanja egejskoj i grčkoj matici. Još pre nego što je i započeo iskopavanje neolitske Vinče 1908. Miloje Vasić je bio čvrsto uveren u svoju zabludu da je taj lokalitet grandiozna emanacija bronzanog doba Egeje.

Provedeno kompleksnoye kliniko-laboratornoye obsledovaniye 127 patsiyentov v ostreyshem periode II i spustya 16–18 mesyatsev: 68 patsiyentov s II na fone istinnoy politsitemii IP (osnovnaya gruppa) i 59 patsiyentov s II bez IP (gruppa sravneniya). Laboratornoye obsledovaniye vklyuchalo opredeleniye gemoreologicheskikh parametrov, pokazateley sistemy gemostaza, funktsii endoteliya, aktivnosti angiogeneza, tsitokinovogo i vospalitel'nogo ryada, molekulyarno-geneticheskoye issledovaniye mutatsii V617F v gene JAK2 i analiz vklada ikh izmeneniy v razvitiye trombogemorragicheskikh oslozhneniy. Obnaruzheno, chto nevrologicheskaya kartina v obeikh gruppakh byla bez znachimykh razlichiy so sredney otsenkoy po shkale NIHSS 12 i 13 ballov sootvetstvenno. Predmet ovog rada je ukazivanje na postojanje veoma značajne zbirke pesama S. I. Čahotina, ruskog konzula u Srbiji krajem XIX i početkom XX veka, koja je bila sasvim slučajno otkrivena među njegovim diplomatskim spisima. Naime, gotovo niko nije znao da se ovaj veoma obrazovan čovek pored svoje glavne profesije bavi i poezijom. U radu je posebna pažnja posvećena liku S. I. Čahotina: detaljno se razmatraju biografske činjenice vezane za njegov život kako pre njegovog postavljenja za konzula Ruskog Imperatorskog konzulata u Srbiji, tako i posle njegovog dolaska u Niš, gde je obavljao svoju dužnost. Autor pažljivo analizira istorijsku situaciju u Srbiji i u Nišu koja je obeležila boravak i rad S. I. Čahotina u Srbiji i koja je imala veliki uticaj na njegovu političku aktivnost i nastanak njegove zbirke pesama "U Srbiji i o Srbiji". Rad ima ne samo lingvokulturološki značaj, već rezultati istraživanja mogu biti iskorišćeni u svrhu obogaćivanja istorijskih podataka o Srbiji i Rusiji kraja XIX i početka XX veka na miljeu doprinosa ruske emigracije u Srbiji.

SummaryAdhesion of platelets to endothelium has been shown to induce important changes in endothelial properties. In this study, we examined the effect of platelet-endothelial cell interactions on the expression of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (u-PA) by human microvascular endothelial cells. After incubation of endothelial cells with platelets, a dose-dependent increase in the expression of u-PA Ag was observed and reached a plateau for a ratio of 300 platelets per endothelial cells. The u-PA Ag upregulation resulted from an increase in u-PA mRNA that originated from a synthesis by endothelial cells since no u-PA mRNA was detected in platelets. The platelet-induced u-PA synthesis was inhibited when the endothelial cells were pre-treated with phospholipase C to remove the u-PA receptor, or when the platelets were incubated with an antibody that blocks the binding of u-PA to u-PAR. Taken together, these data indicate that u-PA present on the platelet surface interacts with u-PAR on the endothelial cells and induces the u-PA synthesis. This mechanism may represent a physiological control of platelet-mediated intravascular fibrin deposition.

The demographics of schools in United States (U.S.) are rapidly changing. Therefore, teachers in the U. S. need to be prepared to teach children with a wide variety of diverse backgrounds. This article describes an introductory early clinical experience purposefully designed to provide early childhood pre-service teachers from a large Midwestern university in the U. S. with opportunities to teach children in a high-need and diverse setting. Data from exit slips and surveys associated with the Open Doors program were analyzed over four years. Results indicated that almost 90% of candidates felt the experience was beneficial to their professional growth and would consider working in a diverse school. Slightly over 90% felt the experience increased their knowledge and skills regarding working with diverse students. Implications for similar projects are provided.

Upon the accumulation of unfolded proteins in the mammalian endoplasmic reticulum (ER), X-box binding protein 1 (XBP1) premessenger RNA (premRNA) is converted to mature mRNA by unconventional splicing that is mediated by the endonuclease inositol-requiring enzyme 1. The transcription factor protein (p) XBP1 spliced (S), which is translated from mature XBP1 mRNA, contains the nuclear localization signal and the transcriptional activation domain and activates the transcription of target genes, including those encoding ER chaperones in the nucleus. We show that pXBP1 unspliced (U) encoded in XBP1 pre-mRNA was constitutively expressed and markedly accumulated at the recovery phase of ER stress. pXBP1(U) contained the nuclear exclusion signal instead of the transcriptional activation domain and shuttled between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. Interestingly, pXBP1(U) formed a complex with pXBP1(S), and the pXBP1(U)–pXBP1(S) complex was sequestered from the nucleus. Moreover, the complex was rapidly degraded by proteasomes because of the degradation motif contained in pXBP1(U). Thus, pXBP1(U) is a negative feedback regulator of pXBP1(S), which shuts off the transcription of target genes during the recovery phase of ER stress.

Implementacija inkluzivnog obrazovanja za učenike oštećena vida i dalje predstavlja izazov. Rezultati prethodnih istraživanja pokazali su da redovni nastavnici obično imaju pogrešne predodžbe o učenicima oštećena vida i njihovom poučavanju. Slični rezultati mogu se naći i kod budućih nastavnika. Cilj ovog rada bio je ispitati izazove, pitanja i dileme budućih nastavnika glede uključivanja učenika oštećena vida u redovnu osnovnu školu. Ispitivanjem su obuhvaćeni budući nastavnici (N = 152) preddiplomskih (predškolski odgoj, razredna nastava) i diplomskih studijskih programa (razredna nastava, predmetna nastava). U istraživanju je korištena Skala za ocjenjivanje pouzdanja u vlastito znanje i vještine poučavanja učenika oštećena vida u redovnoj osnovnoj školi. U promatranim područjima budući nastavnici ocjenjuju svoje profesionalno znanje i vještine za poučavanje učenika oštećena vida u redovnim školama nedovoljnima. Rezultati analize razlika u samopouzdanju budućih nastavnika s obzirom na nezavisne varijable nisu pokazali značajne razlike u pogledu osobnog iskustva i programa studija. Međutim, značajna razlika pokazala se glede njihove pozitivne, neutralne i negativne prve misli. Metodom glavnih komponenata čestica na skali ekstrahirane su dvije dimenzije: prva se odnosi na ‘planiranje nastave i poučavanje’, a druga se odnosi na ‘prilagodbu i modificiranje okoline učenja’.

Let U be a universal algebra. An automorphism α of the endomorphism semigroup of U defined by α(φ) = sφs-1 for a bijection s : U → U is called a quasi-inner automorphism. We characterize bijections on U defining such automorphisms. For this purpose, we introduce the notion of a pre-automorphism of U. In the case when U is a free universal algebra, the pre-automorphisms are precisely the well-known weak automorphisms of U. We also provide different characterizations of quasi-inner automorphisms of endomorphism semigroups of free universal algebras and reveal their structure. We apply obtained results for describing the structure of groups of automorphisms of categories of free universal algebras, isomorphisms between semigroups of endomorphisms of free universal algebras, automorphism groups of endomorphism semigroups of free Lie algebras etc.

SummaryThe pro-inflammatory cytokine tumour necrosis factor-a (TNF-α) is able to alter the haemostatic balance of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) towards that of a procoagulant and anti-fibrinolytic state. Treatment of HUVECs in culture with human recombinant TNF-α (0.5-50 U/ml; 6 h) significantly increased total cell expression of tissue factor (TF) 10-fold from 40 mU/well to 400-500 mU/well. Levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) antigen secreted from HUVECs also increased up to 2-fold in concentration-dependent fashion following addition of TNF-α (10-100 U/ml; 24 h). TNF-α induced total and cell surface expression of TF on HUVECs was significantly inhibited when the cells were pre-incubated with interleukin-4 (IL-4; p <0.001). This effect was time and concentration dependent. Pretreatment of HUVECs with IL-4 for 4 h had no significant effect, but increasing inhibition of total TF expression occurred after 8 and 16 h pre-incubations. Treatment with IL-4 at 20 and 200 U/ml significantly inhibited cell surface TF responses induced by TNF-α, whereas a low concentration (0.2 U/ml) was without effect. In contrast, the production of PAI-1 from HUVECs stimulated by TNF-α (50 U/ml) was unaffected by the presence and/or prior incubation with 200 U/ml IL-4. Thus, IL-4 may regulate the pro-coagulant but not the antifibrinolytic effects of TNF-α at sites of vascular inflammation.

Background: A universal warming media and protocol would simplify exchange and use of oocytes and embryos between different IVF centres. Aim: The aim of this study was to compare a universal warming medium and protocol (Parmegiani et al, 2014 RBMonline 28, 614-23) with 3 other warming media and protocols which were used with their corresponding vitrification media (2 commercial, one in house) measuring survival (pre and post insemination combined), fertilization and blastocyst rate. Method: This was a prospective study on 300 mature cumulus-free F1 mouse oocytes divided between three vitrification protocols, SAGE™ vitrification (S), RapidVit™ Omni by Vitrolife (V), and the in house ‘MCE-Trehalose’ (M) designed for mouse embryos. Oocytes for each vitrification group (S,V & M) were divided equally to be warmed either by the corresponding warming protocols (S/S, V/V & M/M and or the universal warming protocol (S/U, V/U and M/U). Surviving oocytes were inseminated in vitro with 250,000 motile sperm/ml 2h after warming (18 oocytes were not retrieved post-warm). Results: V/V (25%), V/U (42%) had significantly lower survival than all other groups S/S (72%), S/U (76%), M/M (91%), M/U (82%; P<0.01, Fishers Exact), but no other differences were observed. Fertilization rates [S/S (43%), S/U (40%), V/V (62%), V/U (57%), M/M (59%), M/U (45%)] and blastocyst rates [S/S (61%), S/U (41%), V/V (60%), V/U (75%), M/M (54%), M/U (60%)] did not differ. Conclusion: In conclusion, the universal warming protocol had similar outcomes to the other 3 warming protocols, thus shows promise for warming oocytes vitrified by any vitrification protocol within and between species. Also, demonstrated is that IVF can be used for vitrified oocytes, and thus can provide an option tother than using ICSI clinically, but more studies finding the most suitable clinical media and protocol are needed.

SummaryPrevious studies evaluating requirements for occupancy of thrombin receptors in normal platelet secretion and aggregation, using the thrombin antagonists hirudin and PPACK (D-Phe-Pro-Arg-chloromethylke-tone), have suggested that at low thrombin activating concentrations (0.025–0.13 U/ml), occupancy was required only in the first 45–60 s following activation. In our study, we differentiate between thrombin receptor occupancy requirements for surface expression of secreted adhesive proteins, for activation of GPIIb-IIIa receptors, and for aggregation of washed platelets (WP) in laminar shear flow. Platelets activated with 0.05 U/ml thrombin for 10 min to allow maximal secretion (hereafter referred to as “pre-activated platelets”), then sheared, showed a 50–70% decrease in platelet counts after 60 s of shear. Treatment of pre-activated platelets with hirudin or PPACK produced a 65% reduction of capture efficiencies, αG (reflecting experimental/theoretical initial rates of aggregation), as well as a 30–40% decrease in the surface expression of von Willebrand factor (vWF) and thrombospondin (TSP). However, α-granule membrane P-selectin expression and numbers of activated GPIIb-IIIa receptors were comparable for treated and non-treated platelets. No significant difference in any of the parameters tested was observed when platelets were similarly pre-activated with 0.2 U/ml thrombin, due to treatment with thrombin antagonists. Binding of soluble FITC-vWF (GRGDSP-sensitive) to pre-activated, thrombin antagonist treated platelets, was greatly reduced (≥80%). Soluble Fg was shown to bind to antagonist-treated pre-activated platelets, but could not significantly enhance platelet aggregation. Although occupancy of thrombin receptors by catalytically active thrombin is required transiently for secretion and activation of platelets, there is a further requirement for thrombin occupancy at low thrombin concentrations, for optimizing initial rates of platelet aggregation, surface expression of vWF and TSP, and activated GPIIb-IIIa ligand recognition.

Stavovi furlanskog novinara, Pacifica Valussija (1813-1893) o Hrvatima, u revolucionarnom dvogodištu 1848/1849, odražavaju ideje Tommasea i Mazzinija. U svojim gledištima Valussi prolazi kroz nekoliko faza: u početku je kritičan u odnosu na Hrvate s obzirom da su bili deo austrijske vojske i borili se protiv Italijana, i u tom smislu objavljuje članke u svojim časopisima (pre svega Fatti e Parole iIl Precursore). Poziva stoga Hrvate da napuste austrijsku vojsku i da se pridruže Italijanima u borbi protiv zajedničkog neprijatelja.Valussi, potom, vrednuje pozitivno želju Hrvata da se odupru Austriji. U ovoj perspektivi nastoji da istakne koliko bi sve to bilo korisno za Italiju: s jedne strane izražava želju da se formira jedna "pomorska Švajscarska", neka vrsta italo-ilirskog primorja između Italijana i Slovena, kao vezivni prsten između ova dva sveta. S druge strane pak, primećuje da bi stvaranje južne Slavije bilo rešenje koje bi zaustavilo težnje Rusije ka Zapadu. Iako se u ovom periodu Valussi ponaša kao odlučni anti-aneksionista, dok Italija ide ka ujedinjenju, Valussi će pokušati da definiše granice, i pokazaće se potom kao iredentista u nastojanju da istakne razloge aneksije Istre Italiji.

Purpose – Packed salads are popular in many countries of the world. The purpose of this paper is to assess the energy footprint of these products from farm gate to retail gate, compared with unpacked produces distributed by retailers and farmers’ markets in Italy. Design/methodology/approach – Life cycle assessment served as methodological background, even if the analysis was focused on direct and indirect energy consumption. Three supply chains were analysed: packed (P-S) and unpacked (U-S) sold in supermarkets, and unpacked produce sold locally (U-L). Energy inputs were accounted for processing, packaging, refrigeration, transport, and distribution. Data were collected from available literature and from interviews with key experts in the transformation, packaging, and retail sectors. Energy inputs were computed for 1 kg of finished edible product (kgp). Findings – Packed salads require an elevated energy input ranging from 16 to 37 MJ kgp−1. Input energy is mostly required for packaging and refrigeration. By comparison, the U-L chain requires about one tenth of the energy (1.8-2.6 MJ.kgp−1), but local sold produces attain the best performance with only 0.6-1.2 MJ.kgp−1, since they do not need processing, refrigeration, and disposable packages. Packed products mainly rely on the availability of cheap fossil fuels and all the sector has significantly suffered after the oil shock of 2008. Increasing energy costs may lead the price of the commodity out of the market. Originality/value – The paper addresses the subject of energy consumption in a popular sector of processed food to which at present little attention has been paid in the domain of food research.

U Ruskoj Federaciji je tokom jula meseca ove godine na referendumu usvojen niz ustavnih amandmana. Imajući u vidu činjenicu da je Rusija jedna od najznačajnijih država sveta javlja se naučna i društvena potreba za njihovim proučavanjem. Stoga su predmet istraživanja usvojeni amandmani, sa ciljem da se, pre svega, upotrebom normativnog i u manjoj meri uporednopravnog metoda odgovori na dva pitanja. Prvo, u čemu se, nakon njih, ogleda izmena ustavne građevine u Rusiji? Drugo, šta bi mogla da bude intencija ustavotvorca? Odgovor na prvo pitanje je jednostavan. Nakon ovih amandmana, jasno je, dodatno je ojačan, u ustavnopravnom smislu, položaj predsednika. Odgovor na drugo pitanje ne može da bude određen, s obzirom na ustavnu istoriju i ustavnu praksu ove zemlje. Bez obzira na to što se smatra da su ustavne izmene činjene po meri sadašnjeg predsednika, autor smatra da se one, pre svega, čine za nekog budućeg lidera, koji će u Rusiji morati da bude pronađen nakon Vladimira Putina.

Dental caries is an alarmingly prevalent multifactorial disease worldwide but is most common as a chronic disease among children and adolescents. Within the oral cavity there are hundreds bacterial species, including specific cariogenic pathogens such as Streptococcus mutans and Scardoviawiggsiae. Although dental caries are highly prevalent, it may also be preventable using methods such as dental sealants or fluoride treatment, which have proven to be highly effective in reducing caries risk – although there is limited evidence on the exact effect of these treatments on S. wiggsiaeinparticular. Due to the lack of conclusive evidence, this study is aimed to evaluate the microbial burden of S. mutans and S. wiggsiae among pediatric saliva samples to analyze the effects dental sealants have on these oral microbiota. Saliva samples derived from pediatric patients pre- and post-sealant were obtained from an existing repository. DNA was extracted and screened using qPCR and primers specific for the cariogenic organisms, S. mutans (SM) and S. wiggsiae (SW). These data demonstrated an overall reduction in SW among Post-sealant samples (11.14 U/uL) compared with Pre-sealant samples (11.68 U/uL), as well as a reduction in the overall number of samples harboring S. wiggsiae (n=8). The Pre-sealant average amount of SM (14.54 U/uL) was slightly increased among the Post-sealant samples (15.67 U/uL) with half of the samples analyzed (n=13) exhibiting slight increases in SM levels, and nearly one-third (n=8) exhibiting slight decreases in SM levels. The data from this study may suggest that dental sealants have an impact on certain cariogenic pathogens in the oral microbiota. Whether or not the impact is positive or not in light of the increase in S. mutans remains an observation that should be further analyzed. More research is required to address the limitations found in this study in order to localize the exact effect on the teeth with dental sealants.

Ugovor o nalogu (mandatum) nastao je u rimskom pravu. Na temelju tog ugovora uređeno je posredno zastupanje. Prve moderne građanske kodifikacije priznaju neposredno zastupanje na osnovu punomoćja, ali ga vezuju za ugovor o nalogu. Samostalna ustanova punomoćja nastaje u nemačkom pravu u drugoj polovini XIX veka pri čemu je najveću zaslugu u osamostaljivanju punomoćja od mandata imalo učenje Paula Labanda. U slučaju neposrednog zastupanja pravna dejstva preduzetih pravnih radnji neposredno nastupaju za zastupanog. S obzirom na to da prilikom preduzimanja pravne radnje zastupnik izjavljuje volju, postavlja se pitanje da li izjavljenu volju treba shvatiti kao volju zastupnika ili volju zastupanog. Savremena literatura je u neposrednom zastupanju pre sklona da vidi zamenu volje zastupanog voljom zastupnika. Takvo shvatanje prirode zastupanja u privatnom pravu ima zanimljivo poreklo koje seže u XIII vek.

Fokusiranjem na prefiksaciju smjernog značenja, u ovom se radu ostvaruju dva cilja: prvo, podrobno se analiziraju različiti mehanizmi smjerne prefiksacije u mađarskom i u hrvatskom jeziku, a drugo, na temelju tih različitosti tumači se dosada neistraživani dio poteškoća u usvajanju prefiksacije u mađarskom kao inom jeziku. Osim što u mađarskom jeziku ima veći broj prefikasa i prefiksoidnih elemenata, a i sam mehanizam prefigiranja podliježe strogim pravilima; prefiksima je moguće izraziti vrlo kompleksne pojmovne sadržaje kakve drugi jezici izražavaju drugim sredstvima (mahom prilogom ili imeničkim konstrukcijama), čak i kad u svom sustavu imaju prefikse. Zbog toga prefiksacija predstavlja poseban izazov u podučavanju i ovladavanju mađarskim kao inim jezikom, a jedna je od kritičnih točaka različita distribucija prefikasa smjernog značenja uz određene glagole u dva jezika – na tom području dosada nisu bila provedena istraživanja. Iako se na prvi pogled čini da se radi o semantički prozirnoj i razmjerno lako provedivoj tvorbi, izvor neprimjerene uporabe prefikasa može biti i činjenica da se mađarski prefiksi koji izražavaju značenje smjera udružuju s osjetno širim krugom glagola, nego prefiksi identičnih funkcija u hrvatskom jeziku, uključujući i takve glagole koji sami po sebi ne ocrtavaju koncepte kretanja ili pozicioniranja. Prema našim zapažanjima kod studenata mađarskog kao inog jezika uporaba smjernih prefikasa uz takve glagole teže se automatizira, nego uz ostale glagole. Za dobivanje jasnije slike o opsezima poteškoća na tom planu, proveli smo testiranje o uporabi triju odabranih smjernih prefikasa (značenja ’u-’, ’iz-’ i ’pre-’) u krugu studenata hungarologije čija se razina znanja kreće od B2 do C1 prema ZEROJ-u. Testiranjem smo željeli dobiti odgovor na sljedeća pitanja: utječe li na uporabu prefikasa uz određene mađarske glagole postojanje identičnog sklopa (prefiks + glagol) u hrvatskom jeziku, te postoji li razlika među pojedinim smjernim prefiksima mađarskog jezika s obzirom na učestalost, odnosno ispravnost uporabe.

Abstract Objective For patients who have received cochlear implants (CIs), speech-perception testing requires specialized equipment. This limits locations where these services can be provided, which can introduce barriers for provision of care. Providing speech test stimuli directly to the CI via wireless digital audio streaming (DAS) or wired direct audio input (DAI) allows for testing without the need for a sound booth (SB). A few studies have investigated the use of DAI for testing speech perception in CIs, but none have evaluated DAS. The goal of this study was to compare speech perception testing in CI users via DAS versus a traditional SB to determine if differences exist between the two presentation modes. We also sought to determine whether pre-processing the DAS signal with room acoustics (reverberation and noise floor) to emulate the SB environment would affect performance differences between the SB and DAS. Design In Experiment 1, speech perception was measured for monosyllabic words in quiet and sentences in quiet and in noise. Scores were obtained in a SB and compared to those obtained via DAS with unprocessed speech (DAS-U) for 11 adult CI users (12 ears). In Experiment 2, speech perception was measured for sentences in noise, where both the speech and noise stimuli were pre-processed to emulate the SB environment. Scores were obtained for 11 adult CI users (12 ears) in the SB, via DAS-U, and via DAS with the processed speech (DAS-P). Results For Experiment 1, there was no significant difference between SB and DAS-U conditions for words or sentences in quiet. However, DAS-U scores were significantly better than SB scores for sentences in noise. For Experiment 2, there was no significant difference between the SB and DAS-P conditions. Similar to Experiment 1, DAS-U scores were significantly better than SB or DAS-P scores. Conclusions By pre-processing the test materials to emulate the noise and reverberation characteristics of a traditional SB, we can account for differences in speech-perception scores between those obtained via DAS and in a SB.

S tim u vezi, na osnovu dostupnih podataka iz medija, evro-integracije se prvo uobličavaju u narativ, a zatim se dati narativ analizira iz semiotičke perspektive koristeći se postavkama, pre svega, Alžirdasa Žilijena Gremasa. U radu se semiotički analiziraju dva nivoa značenja: semio-narativni (površinski, sintagmatski i konkretni) nivo se istražuje putem transformacijskog i aktancijalnog modela, i dubinski, apstraktni, paradigmatski i atemporalni nivo putem semiotičkog kvadrata. Cilj rada je razumevanje kako se proizvode znanje i značenja evro-integracija.

U radu se analizira primjena aspekata političkog vodstva u slovenskim općinama. Autorica istražuje kako slovenski načelnici shvaćaju svoju ulogu u lokalnoj zajednici, kako gledaju na funkciju političkog vodstva, te koje osobine prevladavaju kod upravljanja slovenskim općinama. Posebna pozornost poklanja se osobinama vođe nasuprot osobinama menadžera, tj. koju od te dvije kategorije načelnici drže važnijom u kontekstu svoje rukovodstvene uloge. Rezultati opsežnog projekta na temu lokalnoga političkog vodstva u Sloveniji pokazali su koje zadatke načelnici smatraju najvažnijima. Radi se o privlačenju sredstava iz vanjskih izvora, osiguranju kvalitetnih lokalnih javnih usluga, poticanju novih projekata u zajednici, te izgradnji vizije budućnosti za općinu. Načelnici su također odgovorili na pitanje u kojim bi područjima općine trebale imati više kompetencija, i tu se pokazalo kako većina drži da općine imaju (pre)malo kompetencija u području lokalnog razvoja. Taj je odgovor u skladu s fokusom slovenskih načelnika na lokalni razvoj u smislu lokalnih ulaganja, razvojnih projekata i razvoja lokalne ekonomije. U radu se također predstavlja nedavno razrađena tipologija osobina načelnika kao vođe u usporedbi s osobinama načelnika kao menadžera. Analiza rezultata upućuje na to da troje od četiri načelnika u Sloveniji posjeduje osobine i radne obrasce svojstvene vođama, dok je postotak onih koji posjeduju jasno izražene osobine i radne obrasce menadžera iznimno nizak. Detaljnom analizom empiričkih podataka došlo se do zaključka da većina slovenskih načelnika upravlja općinama na vizionarski način, s dugoročnom perspektivom razvoja općine na temelju prethodno utemeljenih procedura i pravila. Također su skloni održavanju osobnih kontakata s građanima i uporabi emocionalne inteligencije. U okviru slovenskoga diferenciranog sustava lokalne vlasti načelnici predstavljaju većinom demokratične, proaktivne i strateški orijentirane vizionare koji svoja radna mjesta doživljavaju kao dugoročnu misiju.

In the present study we tested four macroalgae species – harvested in Denmark – for their suitability of bioconversion to methane. In batch experiments (53 °C) methane yields varied from 132 ml g volatile solids−1 (VS) for Gracillaria vermiculophylla, 152 ml g VS−1 for Ulva lactuca, 166 ml g VS−1 for Chaetomorpha linum and 340 ml g VS−1 for Saccharina latissima following 34 days of incubation. With an organic content of 21.1% (1.5–2.8 times higher than the other algae) S. latissima seems very suitable for anaerobic digestion. However, the methane yields of U. lactuca, G. vermiculophylla and C. linum could be increased with 68%, 11% and 17%, respectively, by pretreatment with maceration. U. lactuca is often observed during ‘green tides’ in Europe and has a high cultivation potential at Nordic conditions. Therefore, U. lactuca was selected for further investigation and co-digested with cattle manure in a lab-scale continuously stirred tank reactor. A 48% increase in methane production rate of the reactor was observed when the concentration of U. lactuca in the feedstock was 40% (VS basis). Increasing the concentration to 50% had no further effect on the methane production, which limits the application of this algae at Danish centralized biogas plant.

SummaryThe purpose of this study was to investigate differences in fibrinolytic activity in peritoneal fluid and plasma of women in the first and second part of the menstrual cycle. Given the classic concept of decreased fibrinolytic activity as a cause of adhesion formation, and if such differences are found, the stage of women’s menstrual cycle should be taken into consideration when scheduling a laparotomy.We measured fibrinolytic parameters in peritoneal fluid and plasma in eight women in the pre-ovulatory period and in eleven women in the post-ovulatory period of the menstrual cycle.There were no differences in t-PA-Ag, t-PA-Act, u-PA-Ag and scu-PA concentrations in peritoneal fluid between the pre- and post-ovulatory group. Nevertheless, PAI-1-Ag in peritoneal fluid was three-fold higher in the post-ovulatory phase (p <0.02). In peritoneal fluid the concentrations of both TDP and FbDP were three-fold higher at the same phase (p ≥0.05).Plasma u-PA-Ag and scu-PA concentrations were significantly lower (30%, p <0.05) in the post-ovulatory phase and also lower than plasma u-PA-Ag and scu-PA (measured with the same assay) in a group of 50 healthy individuals. No differences in t-PA and PAI concentration were found.In conclusion, the intraperitoneal fibrinolytic capacity might be impaired in the second part of the menstrual cycle, regarding the elevated levels of PAI-1-Ag, leading to an increased risk for postovulatory adhesion formation. The low plasma u-PA-Ag and scu- PA levels post-ovulatory may have clinical relevance.

Abstract Seismicity in the northeastern U. S. can often be correlated to preexisting structural features. This correlation is found over a wide range of scales and distinct types of correlation characterize the opposite ends of this range. Firstly, patterns of seismicity measured in tens or hundreds of kms are recognized in maps of recent epicenters from regional networks and in maps of earlier macroseismic epicenters. These patterns are characterized by epicenter bands of resolvable widths, but, within these bands, individual ruptures are often oriented at large angles to the strike of the bands. Several of these seismicity patterns can be spatially correlated to structural features in the crystalline layer of the upper crust which is the source of seismicity. These features are recognized as major lithologic boundaries or suture zones, characterized by ductile deformation without evidence for a subsequent brittle phase. Hence, these large scale features are not preexisting weaknesses reactivated in the current regime. Stress concentration derived from lithologic and rheologic contrast along the boundaries may be an important mechanism in these cases. Secondly, high resolution of aftershock zones in areas where the seismogenic layer outcrops has allowed detailed correlation between ruptures and brittle features. Two cases, one in the Grenville terrane of the craton and the other in the Manhattan Prong along the crystalline core of the Appalachians, show similar characteristics. The ruptures are small, 1.5 and 0.5 kms respectively, but their geometry is well defined by the aftershocks. Both these ruptures are associated with zones of brittle fractures that can be followed at the surface for more than 10 kms. These fracture zones are primarily recognized as topographic lineaments, concentrations of slikensided joints and sets of small en echelon faults. The aftershocks zones are parallel to the individual faults in these en echelon fault sets. The total accumulated horizontal displacement across these fracture zones is small (less than 50 to 100 meters) when compared to the rates of moment release and to the inferred pre-Cenozoic age of these fracture zones. The maximum magnitude from these fracture zones is probably controlled by the size of individual faults in the en echelon pattern, rather than by the much larger dimension of the entire fracture zone.

Traditionally, the operation of hernia is considered as a clean operation due to expected, low incidence of infection, on the spot of surgical work (SSI). The incidence of SSI in hernia surgery is more frequent then it is assumed. The important risk factors for SSI are the following: type of hernia (inguinal, incisional), operative approach (open - laparoscopic), usage of the prosthetic material and drainage. Comparing to inguinal hernia repair, incisional hernia repair, is more frequently followed by the infection. The laparoscopic operations are followed with the lower incidence of SSI then in the case of open operation. The usage of the mesh does not increase the incidence of SSI, although the consequences of the mesh infection may be severe. A type I of the prosthesis is more resistant to the infection then prosthesis II and III. The mesh infection (type I) never involves its body but it is present around sutures and bended edges. The mesh infection Type II involves entire prosthesis while in the case of Type III it is present in its peripheral part. In the case of SSI, a prosthesis Type I is possible to be saved, while prosthesis Type II must be removed completely; and the same is for the Type III (the partial removal is rarely suggested). The defect that remained after excision of non-resorptive prosthesis is a long-term and very complicated surgical problem. In regard to the position of the mesh, SSI is more common if the mesh is placed subcutaneously then in the case of sub-aponeurotic peri-muscular, pre-aponeurotic retromuscular or pre-peritoneal mesh placemen. If the infection is present the non-tension techniques using non-resorptive prosthetic implants are not recommended. the presence of drainage and its duration increases the incidence of SSI. It is more common for incisional hernioplasty then for inguinal hernia repair. If there is an indication for drainage it should be as short as possible. The cause of SSI for elective operations are bacteria?s that arrives from the skin, while in the case of opening of various organs dominant bacteria?s originate from them. The superficial infection does not lead to the recurrence, while it is very possible in the case for deep infection. There are no prospective studies that justify the usage of antibiotic prophylaxes in hernia surgery. The antibiotic prophylaxis in hernia surgery. The antibiotic prophylaxis is indicated for the clean operations when placing the implants and when severe complication is expected. The appearance of SSI increases the price of treatment and may lead to the recurrence.

U radu su prikazane dve studije, prva namenjena proveri internih metrijskih karakteristika i konstruktne validnosti nove skale za procenu autoritarnosti, UPA-S, a druga pokušaju da se doprinese odgovoru na pitanje da li je autoritarnost osobina ličnosti ili sindrom stavova. Ovaj 47- ajtemski instrument predstavlja kombinaciju stavki dve skale – ADO, namenjene proceni autoritarnosti kao osobine ličnosti, i AUT-NS, koja autoritarnost tretira pre svega kao sindrom stavova. Osnovni cilj prve studije bila je provera internih metrijskih karakteristika skale UPA-S. Analizom glavnih komponenti, uz Promax rotaciju, u prostoru merenja skale UPA-S ekstrahovane su tri latentne dimenzije nazvane autoritarna submisivnost, autoritarna agresivnost i stoicizam. Skale formirane na osnovu matrice faktorskog sklopa imaju zadovoljavajuće pokazatelje pouzdanosti, homogenosti i reprezentativnosti. Konvergentna validnost skale UPA-S proverena je u okviru druge studije. Konfirmativnom faktorskom analizom testirana su tri modela latentne strukture zajedničkog prostora skala UPA-S, Altemejerove Skale desničarske autoritarnosti, Beogradske revizije F skale autoritarnosti, Skale socijalne dominacije i Skale modernog rasizma. Najadekvatnijim se pokazao model koji podrazumeva dve korelirane latentne dimenzije, od kojih prva obuhvata operacionalizacije autoritarnosti, a druga operacionalizacije srodnih koncepata. Rezultati ukazuju na zadovoljavajuća merna svojstva skale UPA-S, idu u prilog shvatanju autoritarnosti kao višedimenzionalnog konstrukta čiji sadržaj objedinjuje specifični sindrom stavova i indikatore osobina ličnosti koje se tradicionalno smatraju korelatima antidemokratske orijentacije.

Socijalni psiholozi su identifikovali tri uspešne strategije kojima se smanjuju predrasude i socijalna distanca prema osobama sa psihijatrijskom dijagnozom: protest prigušuje negativne stavove prema ovoj populaciji; edukacija zamenjuje pogrešne informacije o bolestima tačnim, dok kontakt ublažava negativne stavove i ponašanja kroz direktnu interakciju s ovim osobama. Cilj ove studije bio je da se ispita efekat edukacije i indirektnog kontakta na smanjenje predrasuda i socijalne distance prema osobama s psihijatrijskom dijagnozom, kod srednjoškolaca. Uzorak je činilo 92 gimnazijalca, koji su podeljeni u 3 grupe: u prvoj grupi je primenjen indirektni kontakt, u drugoj edukacija, dok je treća grupa poslužila kao kontrolna – u njoj nije korišćena nijedna strategija već su samo zadati testovi. Nivo predrasuda i socijalne distance su mereni pre i dve nedelje posle primene strategija Skalom predrasuda prema osobama s psihijatrijskom dijagnozom i upitnikom socijalne distance. Linearne korelacije su ukazale na značajnu vezu između nivoa predrasuda i socijalne distance prema osobama s psihijatrijskom dijagnozom. Primenjena je 3x2 analiza varijanse sa ponovljenim merenjima kako bi se ispitao uticaj različitih strategija na nivo predrasuda prema osobama s psihijatrijskom dijagnozom i njihova promena od prvog do drugog testiranja. Pokazana je značajna interakcija između vrste intervencije i vremena. T-testom za zavisne uzorke smo utvrdili da je do značajne promene došlo jedino u grupi gde je primenjena edukacija. Nisu zabeležene značajne promene u stepenu socijalne distance prema osobama s psihijatrijskom dijagnozom tokom vremena, usled delovanja različitih strategija. Rezultati ukazuju da edukacija o mentalnim poremećajima dovodi do promena na kognitivnom planu, ali izostaju bihejvioralne promene. Indirektni kontakt nije uticao na smanjenje predrasuda prema osobama s psihijatrijskom dijagnozom, što može biti i rezultat sprovođenja ove strategije na indirektan način.

Sa distance od dve decenije moguće je utvrditi u kojoj su funkciji bila obećanja DOS-a na izborima 2000, da li su tada data obećanja ispunjena i u kojoj meri, te izvesti zaključak o neuspešnosti vlasti DOS-a i teškim posledicama te politike po zemlju. U cilju objektivizacije ocene o neuspešnosti DOS-ove politike primenjeni su kriterijumi objektivizacije napretka i nazatka koje je svojevremeno utvrdio akademik Radomir Lukić.

It displays in buffer an anti-Xa and anti-thrombin activity of 415 and 2 U/mg, respectively, compared to 172 and 114 U/mg, respectively, for unfractionated heparin (UFH). Org 36764 does not cross-react with HIT (heparin induced thrombocytopenia) antibodies and is not neutralised by PF4. In experimental models in rats, on a molar basis, Org 36764 was more active than the pentasaccharide SanOrg 34006 (= AT binding domain of Org 36764) in arterial thrombosis, but both were equally active in venous thrombosis. In arterial thrombosis following endothelial damage by ferric chloride, Org 36764 was more active than the LMW heparin enoxaparin and SanOrg 34006 and similar active to UFH. At AT saturating doses the bleeding enhancement was not more than 3.5 times the control value. Org 36764 was more active in suppressing in vivo thrombus formation on stents than UFH, SanOrg 34006 or a combination of ticlopidine and aspirin. The results indicate that the novel drug Org 36764 is a drug with antithrombotic potential against venous and arterial thrombosis.

Voštana prevlaka površine kožice ploda šljive ključna je prepreka gubitku vode prilikom postupka sušenja te ju je nužno ukloniti. Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti utjecaj primjene različitih predtretmana, kemijskog (primjenom lužine), fizikalnog (primjenom abrazije) i toplinskog (ugrijanom destiliranom vodom) na vrijeme sušenja plodova šljive sorte 'President'. Također, varirani su i ključni parametri svakog pojedinog predtretmana poput temperature otopine prilikom toplinskog (22 i 60 °C), koncentracije (0,5, 1 i 1,5% v/v) i temperature (22 i 60 °C) lužine (KOH) kod kemijskog i vremenskog perioda abrazije (5, 10 i 15 min) kod fizikalnog. Prema dobivenim rezultatima, kemijski predtretman lužinom koncentracije 1 i 1,5% temperature 60 °C bio je najučinkovitiji, vrijeme sušenja iznosilo je svega 27 sati, adok je samo 2 sata dulje (29 h) trajalo sušenje plodova predtretiranih abrazijom u vremenu od 15 min. Temeljem svega, može se zaključiti kako je fizikalni predtretman abrazijom izrazito učinkovit u uklanjanju voštane prevlake, time i u skraćivanju vremena sušenja plodova šljive, a isto tako treba naglasiti kako primjenom abrazivnog predtretmana značajno utječemo na smanjenje onečišćenja okoliša, ali i na zdravlje ljudi, s obzirom da nema ostataka kemijskih sredstava koja nakon primjene treba adekvatno zbrinuti, jer potencijalno mogu negativno utjecati na čovjeka i okoliš.

Data was collected forMothers beliefs ad practices regarding infant feeding. Descriptive statistics like percentages, mean and range were obtained by using SPSSversion 11. Results: 366 mothers from rural and urban areas attending hospitals were interviewed. 63.9% mothers believed that breast milkshould be given as first feed. Pre-lacteal feeds were given to 56% of infants. Major source of information for giving pre-lacteal feeds wasrelatives. At birth, 43.7% mothers discarded clostrum considering it harmful and useless for baby. Frequency of breast feeding was highinitially at birth but declined rapidly by early supplementation with bottle feeding. Inadequate weaning in terms of timing, quality and quantitywas observed. Cultural beliefs and taboos like hot and cold food influenced 61.5% of mothers due to which they restricted important fooditems. C o n c l u s i o n s : A targeted health education campaign should stress the main advantages of breast feeding. Messages should stressthe protective benefits of clostrum and encourage mothers to start breast feeding immediately after birth. Potentially hazardous practicesincluding pre lacteal feeding should be discarded. Local cultural and traditional practices and beliefs regarding different food items shouldbe identified. This will help to improve the food intake of infants by strengthening the useful beliefs and discontinuing harmful ones.

This case study aimed to report blood markers and resting respiratory rate (RR) oscillations at sea level, during a 5-wk 3900 m altitude sojourn, and after returning to sea level in a 36-year-old professional wheelchair marathoner. Outcome measures plasma erythropoietin (EPO) concentration, hemoglobin, reticulocytes count, erythrocytes and hematocrit as well as RR were measured upon wakening 7-weeks pre-altitude, 7-days pre-altitude, 35 hours after arrival to altitude, on days 8, 15, 21, 28 and 35 at altitude, 6 and 16 days after returning to sea level. EPO increased up to 259 % (31.6 U l-1) 35 hours upon arrival at altitude and decreased below pre-altitude level (12.2 U l-1) on the 21st day of the camp (8.7 U l-1), reaching the lowest values 16 days after returning from altitude (1.9 U l-1). All blood parameters, except for reticulocytes, increased (range: +17.9 to +23.8%) after 35 days of altitude exposure. Compared to pre-altitude, RR increased during the first week of exposure to hypoxic conditions and remained elevated throughout the camp until the fifth week (5.1±0.4 vs. 9.1±1.6 and 6.6±0.8 breaths min-1; Cohen´s d = +3.4 and +2.4, respectively). A 5-wk high-altitude sojourn triggered polycythemia and elevations in RR (as indicators of effective hypoxic acclimatization) in a professional wheelchair-marathoner.

Background Vitamin D is a fat-soluble hormone that plays an important role in glycaemic control. In addition, it has a positive effect on improving liver enzyme function. Aim This study was performed to examine the effect of intramuscular injection of vitamin D on serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels, glycemic control, and liver enzymes in Libyan patients suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with vitamin D deficiency. Methods and Materials This cross-sectional study enrolled 100 T2DM (50 males and 50 females). Their serum 25(OH)D, fasting blood glucose (FBG), and liver enzymes were measured at the baseline and 12 weeks after treatment with vitamin D (200,000 IU) injection monthly for 3 months. Data analysis involved the estimation of mean ± standard error (SE) and comparison of means between pre and post-treatment values using paired t-test. Independent t-test was used to compare the means between males and females. The level of significance was set at p < 0.05. Results Females had a lower 25(OH)D blood levels than males at baseline (7.03 ± 0.25 ng/mL versus 7.86 ± 0.26 ng/mL, respectively p < 0.02). 25(OH)D levels in both sexes was increased significantly from 7.45 ± 0.18 ng/mL to 26.69 ± 0.24 ng/mL after 12 weeks of vitamin D injections (p < 0.001), with no significant differences between male and females. FBG levels in both sexes was significantly decreased from 144.68 ± 1.84 mg/dL to 85.96 ± 0.34 mg/dL post treatment (p < 0.001). Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was increased from 10.24 ± 0.17 U/L at baseline to 20.34 ± 1.15 U/L post treatment (p < 0.001). Similarly, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) was increased from 11.23 ± 0.21 to 20.57 ± 0.22 U/L (p < 0.001), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was decreased from 124.95 ± 1.15 U/L to 111.17 ± 1.27 U/L (p < 0.001). There were no significant differences between male and female liver enzymes either pre- or post-vitamin D injections Conclusion Treatment with vitamin D injection showed a significant increase in 25(OH)D accompanied by decreased FBG and ALP levels and increased ALT and AST levels. Vitamin D levels should be monitored and adjusted in diabetic patients.

319 Background: The efficacy of SARS-COV-2 vaccination has been demonstrated in healthy individuals. Immune responses are less well characterised in cancer patient groups, especially those receiving anticancer therapy (e.g. immune therapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapies. We aim to assess the immune response to the SARS-COV-2 vaccination in patients with solid organ cancer on different systemic anti-cancer therapies. Methods: All patients received 2 doses of COVID-19 mRNA vaccination as part of the UK National vaccination programme; with the second booster dose administered within 12 weeks of the first dose. All patients received either BNT162b2 (Pfizer/BioNTech) or ChAdOx1 S (AstraZeneca) vaccines. Sequential serum samples were collected pre-booster dose vaccination (baseline/within -30 days) and after second dose SARS-COV-2 vaccination, at 14-35 days and 36-63 days. Presence and titres of serum Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein (S) antibody titres were measured. Seroconversion is defined as a response ≥0.8 U/ml, and maximum response to Anti-S is defined as ≥250 U/ml. Responses were measured in 3 patient groups according to the type of anti-cancer therapy: chemotherapy (CHT group), immune therapy (IO group) and targeted therapies, mainly VEGF TKI (TT group). Results: Overall, 61 patients were recruited: 45.9%(28/61) in CHT group, 32.8% (20/61) in IO group and 21.3% (13/61) in the TT group. Baseline characteristics were comparable between patient groups. In response to the booster dose vaccination at 14-35 days, the number of patients who seroconverted was 79.3% (23/29), 94.7% (18/19) and 84.6% (11/13) in the CHT, IO and TT groups, respectively. At this same time point, 51.7% (15/29) in the CHT group achieved maximum anti-S titre levels (≥250 U/ml), compared with 78.9% (15/19) of patients in IO group and 69.2% (9/13) of patients in TT group. All 3 groups demonstrated a significant increase in Anti-S antibodies at 14-35 days after second dose vaccine when compared to pre-booster serum levels, with the largest increase seen in the IO group with a mean Anti-S increase of 149.1 U/ml (SD±105.0, p < 0.0001) followed by the TT group mean increase 120.2 U/ml (SD ±110.8, p < 0.01) and the CHT group, mean increase 83.0 U/ml (SD ±108.4, p < 0.001). Anti-S antibody levels were sustained at 36-63 days post-booster across all groups. However only IO patients had a sustained immune response to vaccination, with median Anti-S titres level of ≥250 U/ml and a significant drop was seen in the CHT group (median Anti-S level 138, p < 0.05). Conclusions: Anti-S titres increase following vaccination in all 3 groups but remain most sustained in the IO group at 36-63 days post-vaccination. Chemotherapy and other targeted therapy treated patients may benefit from early COVID-19 vaccine boosters, compared to patients receiving immune therapy.

Mylné koncepcie žiakov sú pevne zakotvené v ich kognitívnych štruktúrach, sú trváce, sú často odolné voči rôznorodým zmenám a nie je ľahké ich odstrániť. Náš článok demonštruje žiacke miskoncepcie v oblasti organickej chémie. Článok prezentuje kvalitatívny výskum žiackych predstáv a vedomostí v oblasti organickej chémie realizovaný na slovenských školách. Uvádza mnohé žiacke miskoncepcie a zistenia v tejto časti chémie. Predkladá tiež niekoľko odporúčaní pre elimináciu žiackych mylných predstáv v oblasti prírodných vied a pre zefektívnenie procesu ich vyučovania, ktoré by mohli zvýšiť záujem žiakov o štúdium prírodných vied a byť neoceniteľným „motorom? ich vnútornej motivácie.

U radu je predstavljeno postrojenje za demineralizaciju vode iz toplih izvora koje se zasniva na snižavanju pritiska tople vode, primenom ejektora sa pogonom na vodu, u cilju isparavanja iste. Radi određivanja optimalnih vrednosti radnih parametara postrojenja, pre svega pritiska isparavanja, urađena je višekriterijumska optimizacija NSGA II evolutivnim algoritmom između funkcije investicionih troškova i profita. S obzirom na promenu temperature izvorske tople vode u letnjem i zimskom periodu vremena, prihod, a posledično i profit je računat za celu godinu. Na osnovu predstavljenog rezultata može se zaključiti da niži nivo pritiska tople vode povećava vrednost investicije postrojenja, ali isto tako utiče i na povećanje smanjenje prihoda i profita postrojenja. Ovim radom prikazan je novi model bilansiranja postrojenja u cilju dobijanja Pareto fronta, na osnovu kojeg se u zavisnosti od budžeta kojim raspolaže investitor donosi najbolja odluka.

Izrazom ,kreacionizam‘ se označava jedna hrišćansko-fundamentalistička struja kojaje nastala pre otprilike osamdeset godina u SAD-u i koja do današnjih dana pronalazi sve višepristalica. Konsekventno sprovodeći svoje shvatanje o vernosti Bibliji ti krugovi žele da doslovnoshvate biblijski izveštaj o nastanku svetu i pokušavaju ga etablirati kao serioznu alternativuprirodno-naučnoj teoriji evolucije i kosmologiji. S jedne strane, oni pokušavaju da ospore naučnostteorije evolucije (sa njom i kosmologije i istorijske geologije), tako što njihove otvorene problemei nerešena pitanja prikazuju kao temeljne teoretske deficite; s druge strane, oni biblijski izveštaj ostvaranju sveta žele potkrepiti naučnim dokazima i argumentima. Na taj način teorija evolucije trebabiti devalvirana u „učenje o evoluciji“, a mit o stvaranju sveta prevrednovan u „učenje o stvaranjusveta“. U očima kreacionista onda intelektualno poštenje nalaže da se u toku nastave biologijepored „učenja o evoluciji“ u istom obimu prikazuje i hrišćansko učenje o stvaranju sveta. U člankuautor pokazuje da kreacionisti u svojoj kritici teorije evolucije polaze od krajnje pojednostavljene slike prirodno-naučne teorije koja ne uvažava prave odnose u fizici, hemiji ili biologiji i u kojoj seposebno briše razlika između obrazloženja jednog prirodno-naučnog zakona i njegove primene. Zarazliku od teorije evolucije kreacionističko učenje o stvaranju sveta ne poseduje nikakav istraživačkiprogram, pošto je izveštaj o stvaranju sveta prikaz istorijskog toka događaja koji njegove pristaliceuopšte ne mogu podvrći naučnoj kritici, jer bi to značilo bogohuljenje. Neprihvatanje principaaktualnosti u suštini implicira neprihvatanje svakog naučnog istraživačkog programa u svrhurazjašnjenja prirodno-istorijskih sklopova. Dakle, govor o „Creation Science“ je običan retoričkitrik.<br />

U radu se razmatra etimologija imena *Kegalj (Kegьlj), odmilja *Keglja, prvoistaknutoga člana (počev od oko 1300.) stare hrvatske, čakavske, plemićke i kasnije velikaške, grofovske porodice koja je pripadala mađarskom plemstvu, Kegljević, isprva i Kegljin, poznatije kao Keglević (Keglevič, Keglovič), koja je do početka XVII v. živela i imala vlastelinstva na teritoriji Dalmacije, na području srednjeg toka reke Zrmanje, u sklopu Kninske županije, pa potom i na teritoriji Hrvatske, ali se otad počela deliti na više grana te prelaziti u Ugarsku, gde se na koncu konca i pomađarila. Porodica je isprva pripadala malom plemenu/rodu po imenu Prklji, odnosno (hrv. čak.) Parklji, što je, očito, prezime (u množini). Budući da je prethodeće romansko stanovništvo posvedočeno upravo u areji ovog imena i prezimena, u slivu Zrmanje, Erveniku, Kninu i okolini, a korenovi Keg- i Prk- očito nisu slovenski, pritom nemajući veze s nem. Kegel „čunj”, odnosno s kajk. kehlja mađarskoga porekla, daje se sledeća etimologija – ime Kegьlj, starije *Kegljь, pre toga *Kedljь potiče od balkanoromanskog *Kedlj(u) od latinskog ličnog imena Catullius (isprva porodičnog prezimena), a prezime *Prkьlj, starije *Prkljь potiče od balkanoromanskog *Proklj(u), što je lično ime koje je tamo postalo prezime, a poreklom od latinskog ličnog imena Proculius (isprva porodičnog prezimena). Zaključuje se, stoga, i to da je porodica Kegljević romanskoga porekla, tj. da su oni poreklom pohrvaćeni, počakavljeni Romani

Migracije i migracijska kriza zaposjeda cijelu Europu. Ne samo njezin teritorij, nego njezin duh, misao i osjećaje. Europa je prisiljena promišljati, planirati, a nerijetko i strahovati. Netko je nepoznat i prijeteći ovdje, među nama. Netko tko straši. Jedan od okidača za njezin hitan angažman svakako je strah od stvarnog ili mogućeg nasilja (pre)često tematiziranog u sredstvima društvenog priopćivanja. Događa se, nažalost, da strah od nasilja i nepoznatog postaje sredstvo zastrašivanja domaćeg stanovništva usmjereno protiv onih koji su potrebni možda samo razumijevanja i prihvaćanja. Stoga, osnovna nakana ovoga rada sastoji se u tome da, na temelju razumijevanja bitnih obilježja fenomena nasilja, podrobnijeg razmatranja nekih statističkih elemenata migracijske krize, naročito činjenice da su migranti i izbjeglice i počinitelji i žrtve nasilja, pokaže kako ne postoje konkretni dokazi koji bi na poseban način povezivali migracije i nasilje u smislu značajnijeg povećanja nasilja povezanog upravo s migracijama. Migracijska kriza i 'nepoznat netko' ne rješava se manipulacijama, strahom, prijetnjom i nasiljem, nego aktualizacijom temeljnih evanđeoskih vrednota ljubavi i solidarnosti, prihvaćanja i gostoljubivosti.

SummaryThe enhancement of the blood fibrinolytic potential by physical exercise is generally attributed to the release of tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) from the vessel wall. In this study we have investigated the possible contribution of urokinase-type plasminogen activator (u-PA).Six healthy male volunteers (age 21–25 years) were screened for their ability to perform maximal exercise for their age-group for 12 min on a bicycle ergometer. Subsequently, on one occasion they were required to remain supine for 2 h (from 8.30 a. m. onwards) and on another they performed maximal exercise (from 9.00 a.m. onwards). During exercise an increase in u-PA antigen and plasmin-activatable pro-urokinase (proUK) activity, concurrent with t-PA antigen and euglobulin t-PA activity, was observed in all six volunteers, while at rest these parameters remained unaffected. Mean u-PA- and t-PA antigen increased, respectively, from 4.2 ± 1.0 ng/ml and 5.8 ± 2.1 ng/ml before exercise to 9.8 ± 3.0 ng/ml and 18.3 ± 3.8 ng/ml (peak). Mean plasminactivatable proUK activity and t-PA activity increased, respectively, from 2.1 ± 0.4 ng/ml and 0.3 ± 0.2 ng/ml before exercise to 4.3 ± 1.7 ng/ml and 7.2 ± 4.0 ng/ml (peak). The increases were statistically significant throughout (paired t-test, pre vs post, antigen P <0.005 and activity P <0.02). After cessation of exercise u-PA and t-PA declined concurrently to normal values with a 50"/" decay in about 5 min. In conclusion, we found that both u-PA antigen and plasmin-activatable proUK activity are, concurrently with t-PA, enhanced upon exercise and, therefore, we consider that u-PA also contributes to – and co-operates in – the enhancement of the blood fibrinolytic potential and activity under these conditions.

Fully halogenated chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are, despite their good thermodynamic properties, stability and non-toxicity, eliminated from use. Due to the content of one chlorine atom in the molecule, the use of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) has been reduced in many European countries. The use of partially halogenated hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in which the molecules have no chlorine atoms, due to increased inflammability, is also to a large extent limited. This paper presents a methodology for selecting working fluids or mixtures for use in cogeneration ORCs on biomass, which will, in addition to thermodynamics, also take into account the safety and environmental requirements of working fluid acceptability. The effects of thermodynamic properties of preselected working fluids on the performance of the cogeneration ORC plant have been analyzed and the thermodynamic properties of the working fluid are optimized by the exergy efficiency of the ORC as a function of the target, using a genetic algorithm. Optimal values of the exergy efficiency, component size and exergy losses of the cogeneration ORC for the use of biomass energy are compared and analyzed under the same heat source conditions and pre-defined boundary conditions. The experimental analysis of the cogeneration ORC shows that the most preferred working fluid is p-xylene because in comparison to undekan, MDM (OMTS) and D4 (OMCTS) it has the highest value of exergy efficiency but also requires the least dimension of ORC components (turbines and capacitors).
