This research work examines the computational practices of Congolese primary school teachers who have been introduced to computer tools and services as part of the Francophone initiative for distance teacher training (IFADEM, in French). It proposes a discourse that distances itself from any a priori conformity or non-conformity to the norms of use prescribed by the body of trainers in information and communication technologies for education (ICTE). The aim of this doctoral project is to understand the "reversed" mechanisms - as singular as they are individual, as novel as they are unstable - by which each practitioner reinvents the use of ICTE (abnormal computational usage practices). What are the representational, contextual, pedagogical and transliterative factors by which some of these users act as practitioner-refusers? To answer this question, we carried out a microsociological analysis. Our methodology is based on a research-action-training approach, using both qualitative (interviews and screen tracking) and quantitative (statistical processing of questionnaires) techniques. Contrary to our initial hypotheses, the conclusions we reached are rather surprising
Rochat, Jean. "La société anonyme en France (1807-1867) : représentations et pratiques." Thesis, Paris 1, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA010672.
This thesis focuses on the business corporation in France between its formal appearance in the law in the Commercial Code of 1807 and the Act of July 1867 that removes any government authorization previously requested for the creation of such company. The société anonyme has often been described as the necessary support of modern industrial capitalism, particularly in that it would have allowed significant concentration of capital. By observing closely the practices of different actors, this thesis aims to revise this representation, seeking to replace the public company in the political economy of the first half of the nineteenth century. This approach includes a research on the origins of the société anonyme – which we do not consider as a product of capitalist modernity – and a reassessment of the role of the state, which is one of the main users of this business form and whose intervention is necessary for the viability of such an institution. At a more general level, this thesis aims at questioning the interaction between law and economy, highlighting a process of construction and legal learning based on an ongoing dialogue between the existing law, the uses that are made of it and the State’s actions

This PhD thesis in Anthropology offers an ethnography of the so called ‘vandal’ and ‘half legal’ graffiti practices in urban areas. It first highlightes the forms of markings, that is, the medium and production through which graphiti writers publicly materialize their presence. It then focuses on the wide range of strategies writers deploy in their practices, from protection to infiltration. This study also aims to interrogate the relationship between ‘painters’ and urban space and time, on the basis of their modus operandi. In an attempt to account for these objects, this study adopts a comparative approach to fieldwork, in this case mainly Nice (French Riviera, France) and the province of Granada (Andalousia, Spain) which casts analytical light not only on the impact of the cultural context oin writers’choices and practices, but also on the political character of a practice that is rarely considered and verbalised as such

Hypoxia refers to a decrease in the oxygen bioavailability at the tissue level. The combination of intermittent hypoxia and hypercapnia is identified in several respiratory diseases as a critical pathophysiological element. However, research suggests that exposure to hypo- or normocapnic hypoxia can improve cardiovascular health. The combination of hypoxic exposure and exercise training has been used by athletes to improve aerobic exercise performance. Recent pilot studies in patients with chronic diseases indicate that exposure to moderate hypoxia at rest or during exercise is likely to induce significant gains in cardiovascular health, body composition and metabolic status. We investigated the effects of normobaric hypoxic exposure on cardiorespiratory and tissue function in healthy subjects, overweight or obese subjects at risk or with cardio-metabolic abnormalities. We assessed the efficacy of 2 types of passive hypoxic conditioning consisting in sustained hypoxia or intermittent hypoxia and hypoxic exercise training in comparison with normoxic condition. First, we assessed the effects of short-term hypoxic exposure at rest in 14 healthy subjects. Then, we evaluated the cardiovascular and metabolic effects of a 8-week normobaric hypoxic conditioning program at rest (intermittent or sustained hypoxia) in 35 overweight or obese patients, compared to placebo normoxic exposure. Next, we conducted a preliminary study in 24 healthy subjects to assess the acute responses to submaximal constant-load and high intensity interval cycling exercise performed in normoxia and in hypoxia. The last study aimed to compare the effect of an 8-week exercise training program performed either in normoxia or hypoxia on maximal aerobic capacity in overweight or obese subjects. In the healthy subject, we emphasized the rapid benefits of intermittent hypoxic conditioning on cardiovascular function (lower baseline systolic blood pressure and increased heart rate variability) and the modulation of tissue deoxygenation in response to hypoxia. We have also shown in healthy subjects that acute exercise (combined with hypoxia causes a similar decrease in muscle oxygenation but a greater prefrontal cortex deoxygenation compared to normoxic condition. Then, in the overweight or obese subject, we have shown that chronic passive hypoxic conditioning induces a decrease in diastolic blood pressure at rest in normoxia, an increase in the hypoxic ventilatory response and a decrease in heart rate variability after intermittent hypoxic conditioning only. In addition, chronic active (exercise training) hypoxic conditioning improves the maximal aerobic capacity compared to placebo normoxic training. Our results show the feasibility of several hypoxic conditioning strategies and their interesting effects on the vascular function in overweight/obese subjects presenting exercise limitations impeding exercise reconditioning. In addition, active hypoxic conditioning showed a greater effect on physical fitness than normoxic exercise training. These hypoxic conditioning strategies must be further optimized to improve their efficacy regarding weight loss and cardiometabolic morbidity in obese. They also represent promising therapeutic opportunities for other chronic diseases

This work is a linguistic ethnography survey to think and conceive the relation between two notions : the Revolution in Tunisia, this political mutation which took place in 2011 (this is an extra-linguistic problem) and the written culture of young Tunisians on Facebook which is a purely linguistic phenomenon. All our work consists of studying the transformations and metamorphoses but also the maintenance and conservation of the different aspects of this speaking / writing of young people in such an exceptional situation combining anomie, subversion and heresy. In other words, it is necessary to examine the inventions but also the ritualizations and the presentation of self in everyday life as well as the differences and the inequalities between the young people facing the written culture
