Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Studenti více popisovali a méně hodnotili. V oblasti zadávání instrukcí si všímali více detailů (kvalitativně i kvantitativně).

Abstract:
The number of factors that can affect satisfaction, researchers try to see from the aspects of competence possessed by lecturers, educational staff, prices or costs to be borne by students and service quality. This research was conducted in the Management Study Program of the Faculty of Economics, University of Panca Marga Probolinggo with a sample of 100 management students from a total number of management students of 1000. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a significant influence between competence, price and quality of service on student satisfaction. Based on the results of research analysis shows that competence, price and service quality together have a significant effect on student satisfaction, where the magnitude of F is 19,060 with a sig level of 0,000. Whereas the results of the research analysis partially showed that the coefficient t of the competency variable, -0.201, proved that competence had no partial effect on student satisfaction with a sig value of 0.841. The coefficient t of the price variable, 2.609, proves that prices affect student satisfaction. If the price is raised and followed by an increase in service it will increase student satisfaction. So partially the price has a significant effect on student satisfaction. The coefficient of service quality t arithmetic which is 5,531 with sig 0,000 means that partially the quality of service has a significant influence on student satisfaction, while the quality of service provides the greatest influence on student satisfaction.

Abstract:
The Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS) is a classic case of the high-stakes test, accompanied by rewards for high performing schools and sanctions for lower performing schools. In this study, over 100 teachers from Texas school districts completed open-ended surveys on how they prepare students for TAAS and the effects of the test on students, teachers, and schools. Twenty of the survey respondents engaged in interviews to gather in-depth data on their perceptions of TAAS. Results provide preliminary indications that, for many schools, high-stakes testing has become the object rather than the measure of teaching and learning, with negative side effects on curriculum, teacher decision making, instruction, student learning, school climate, and teacher and student self-concept and motivation.

Abstract:
Purpose Although studies have examined the role of physical factors such as physical environment, price/fee and personal safety in the satisfaction of international students, the effect of social factors such as emotional support, ethical conduct and student–lecturer attachment in international student’s satisfaction has yet to be explored. This study aims to investigate the effect of physical and social factors associated with the satisfaction of international university exchange students that leads to revisit intention. Design/methodology/approach A self-administered questionnaire survey was used to collect data from 166 international exchange students from a large public university in Malaysia using convenience sampling. The structural equation modelling through partial least square approach was used to test the proposed hypotheses. Findings The findings revealed that the physical environment, price/fee, personal safety and student–lecturer attachment had a positive relationship with student satisfaction. Also, student’s satisfaction significantly influenced their revisit intention to the university. Practical implications The findings of the study provide insight into the administration of higher education institutions about the factors that lead to the satisfaction of international exchange students. Marketing managers can also use the findings to develop strategies to attract more foreign students. Originality/value Previous studies discussed the physical factors that influence the satisfaction of international students. However, this study included the social factors which have not been tested in the context of international student satisfaction. The study provides a comprehensive framework that can be used to develop satisfaction among international exchange students.

Abstract:
The research presents the results of student satisfaction with 24-hour convenience stores in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). The data was collected from a survey of 275 students as customers of 24-hour convenience stores in HCMC. Employing quantitative analysis to analyze reliability, EFA factors and regression analysis, the author identified determinants of student satisfaction with 24-hour convenience stores, thereby analyzing satisfaction assessment results obtained from the regression model. The results show that price has the strongest impact on student satisfaction, followed by staff, goods, support services, facilities, and distribution channels. The findings are consistent with the fact that low-income people like students, price, quality, and support services are of extreme importance. The study assists managers in decision making and working out strategies so as to enhance student satisfaction and other customer groups in an ever increasing competitive market, thereby contributing to the development of this business model.

Abstract:

Social arithmetic material is the focus of this research. Researchers want to find out more about student understanding related to social arithmetic material. In addition, social arithmetic materials require various prerequisite materials that must be mastered by students. The main problem examined in this study is the student's mistake in solving social arithmetic material. This study aims to determine the forms of errors made by students in solving problems related to social arithmetic, the causes, and provide solutions to the errors that have been identified. The subjects in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Pleret. Student error data obtained from written test results. Student answers are incorrectly identified into the types and forms of errors. After that, several students were selected to be interviewed. This research uses a qualitative approach and the type of research is descriptive. From the results of data analysis it can be concluded that students experience: (1) difficulty in performing the problem solving algorithm; (2) difficulties in understanding the concept of profit or loss if it is associated with the purchase price and selling price; (3) difficulties in understanding the concept of discount. Alternative solutions to overcoming these difficulties are: (1) Teachers need to get used to and emphasize to students so that in working on problems always accompanied by clear steps; (2) Apply themethod Role Playing by utilizing the school canteen.

Abstract:
Purpose: Food insecurity appears to be a growing problem for post-secondary students, but little study has been made of the 51 campus-based food banks that exist. In 2003-04, the University of Alberta Campus Food Bank (CFB) distributed hampers intended to supply four days of food to 630 unique clients, of whom 207 (32.8%) were children. The nutritional adequacy of food hampers and cost saving to students were evaluated in the current study. Methods: Hampers prepared for one adult, and for one adult with one child, were nutritionally evaluated and scored for number of servings according to Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating. Two types of hampers were evaluated: those containing only non-perishable items, and those containing non-perishable and perishable items. Hamper contents were priced to establish the cost saving to students. Results: The study revealed that a student with one child would receive up to $58.02 worth of food in a hamper that contained perishable items. All hampers met the recommended minimum servings for each food group, but were very low in fat and protein from animal sources. Conclusions: Because students can obtain hampers only twice each month, the CFB is not the solution to food insecurity on campus. Awareness of the issue of post-secondary student food insecurity needs to be raised.

This study aims to investigate the contribution lecturers’ pedagogical competences, intellectual intelligence and self-efficacy of student learning motivation. The analysis technique in this study is a multiple regression and comparison technique. It observes the relationship or influence among three variables. The sample of this study consisted of 30 students. The validity test results for each variable of lecturer pedagogical competence, intellectual intelligence, self-efficacy, and student learning motivation are valid, while the reliability of each variable is all reliable. The research findings show that the results of the analysis obtained the price of Fhit = 371,862, db = (3.26), p-value = 0,000 <0.05, Ho is rejected. The price of R2 = 0.977, Fhit = 371,862, db = (3.26) p-value = 0,000 <0.05 or Ho is rejected. The contribution of lecturers 'pedagogical competence, intellectual intelligence and self-efficacy to students' learning motivation is 0.977 or 97.7%. Thus, lecturers' pedagogical competence, intellectual intelligence and self-efficacy simultaneously influence student learning motivation.

AbstractObjectiveTo determine the effect of increasing fruit visibility, adding information and lowering price on fruit purchasing at a university cafeteria in Lima, Peru.DesignQuasi-experimental pilot study of a three-phase stepped intervention. In Phase 1, fruit was displayed >3 m from the point of purchase with no additional information. Phase 2 consisted in displaying the fruit near the point of purchase with added health and price information. Phase 3 added a 33 % price reduction. The duration of each phase was 3 weeks and phases were separated by 2-week breaks. Primary outcomes were total pieces of fruit and number of meals sold daily.SettingA university cafeteria in Lima, Peru.SubjectsApproximately 150 people, students and non-student adults, who purchased food daily. Twelve students participated in post-intervention interviews.ResultsFruit purchasing doubled from Phase 1 to Phase 3 (P<0·01) and remained significant after adjusting for the number of meals sold daily (P<0·05). There was no evidence of a difference in fruit sold between the other phases. Females purchased 100 % of the fruit in Phase 1, 82 % in Phase 2 and 67 % in Phase 3 (P<0·01). Males increased their purchasing significantly between Phase 1 and 3 (P<0·01). Non-student adults purchased more fruit with each phase (P<0·05) whereas students did not. Qualitatively, the most common reason for not purchasing fruit was a marked preference to buy unhealthy snack foods.ConclusionsPromoting fruit consumption by product placement close to the point of purchase, adding health information and price reduction had a positive effect on fruit purchasing in a university cafeteria, especially in males and non-student adults.

Abstract:
Abstract The efficiency of financial markets and their potential to produce bubbles are central topics in academic and professional debates. Yet, little is known about the contribution of financial professionals to price efficiency. We run 116 experimental markets with 412 professionals and 502 students. We find that professional markets with bubble drivers – capital inflows or high initial capital supply – are susceptible to bubbles, although they are more efficient than student markets. In mixed markets with students, bubbles also occur, but professionals act as price stabilizers. We show that heterogeneous price beliefs drive overpricing, especially in bubble-prone market environments. Simulations are widely used to teach economic principles and to provide students experience in decision making. This paper describes and evaluates a simulation exercise that helps students understand public policy impacts in a multistage market. Student teams of producers, marketers, and processors use information on costs and demand in negotiations to determine prices and quantities. Selected public policies such as marketing orders with price discrimination are implemented and analyzed. The simulation exercise improved student understanding of marketing orders and policy impacts on prices, quantities, and profits in a multistage market. Financial outcomes in the simulation were related to student learning as evidenced by exam scores.

Abstract:
Indonesia bears a huge burden on health problems arising from cigarette consumption. Many policies have been made by the government in order to control national cigarette consumption. One way is to increase the price of cigarettes. This research was conducted to determine the effect of cigarette prices with the income of student allowances on cigarette consumption. The research method used in this study is multiple linear regression. The data used in this study are primary data obtained using a survey in Jatinangor. Data collection techniques used in this study were random sampling, with a total of 60 students respondent. Data Characteristics of respondents in this study include cigarette prices, monthly allowance income and the number of cigarette consumption per month of students who live in Jatinangor. Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis, it is found that the price of cigarettes and student allowance income has a positive and significant effect on cigarette consumption. This result can be a recommendation for the government that an increase in cigarette prices cannot significantly reduce cigarette consumption. The government can issue a smoking ban that is more effective in controlling the consumption of cigarettes to students.

Abstract:
Students in the United States whose household income is less than 130% of the poverty line qualify for free lunch, and students whose household income is between 130% and 185% of the poverty line qualify for reduced-price lunch. Education researchers and policymakers often use free and reduced-price lunch (FRPL) status to measure socioeconomic disadvantage. But how valid is this measure? Linking IRS income tax data to school administrative records for all eighth graders in one California public school district and Oregon public schools, we examine how well FRPL enrollment captures student disadvantage. We find that FRPL categories capture relatively little variation in household income. However, FRPL captures elements of educational disadvantage that IRS-reported household income data do not.

Value was defined as usefulness of the computer, reasonable price for the computer and the quality of the computer. A survey of 1,000 first-time full time university students were surveyed in 2000 and five years later in the fall of 2005. Significant differences were found on all three variables indicating that student perceptions of the usefulness, price, and quality of the computer increased from 2000 to 2005. Abstract:
Purpose This paper, a pioneering one in the Israeli context, aims to augment the research literature on school quality and housing prices by examining the effect of primary-school performance on local property values. It focuses on the main question whether the release of students’ test scores offered households a new source of information with which they could evaluate the quality of schools, thereby affecting local housing markets. Design/methodology/approach Several models that examine a variety of transactions, schools and locality characteristics that affect house prices are estimated. Using different administrative sources of information, a wide array of socioeconomic characteristics of students, parents and homebuyers, as well as locality features, is constructed and merged. This information, combined with students’ scores on Meitzav exams (standardized student achievement tests) in 2009-2012 and house prices, illuminates the relationship between student achievements and the prices of houses purchased within the defined attendance zones. Findings Student achievements, mainly in the state education system, are found to have a positive and statistically significant effect on housing prices. Accurate information published about a certain school that showed much stronger achievements than those yielded by information attainable about the same school before school-level publication, does contribute to boost house prices in the post-publication period. The socioeconomic background of the students’ parents was found to have a significant effect on house prices. The premium for housing value is much higher in the most prestigious, prime demand districts, in which the housing supply is limited and the housing price level is higher than in that the peripheral districts. Originality/value This study not only breaks new ground in the Israeli context but also contributes to the existing literature, by investigating the relation between publishing students’ scores and property values near the same schools, on a national scale. Given that the housing price dynamics and the spatial differentiation of housing stock are extremely hot issues in many European cities, the results of this study could serve as an important tool for better understanding the housing price responses to market incentives, resulting in specific patterns in local housing markets. This paper could be thus applicable in housing policy outline, urban design and planning.

Abstract:
Using student-level administrative data from North Carolina, we explore whether exposure to same-race teachers affects the rate at which Black students receive exclusionary discipline, such as out-of-school suspensions, in-school suspensions, and expulsion. We find consistent evidence that exposure to same-race teachers is associated with reduced rates of exclusionary discipline for Black students. This relationship holds for elementary, middle, and high school grade ranges for male and female students, and for students who do and do not use free and reduced-price lunch. Although we find reductions in referrals for a number of different types of offenses, we find particularly consistent evidence that exposure to same-race teachers lowers office referrals for willful defiance across all grade levels, suggesting that teacher discretion plays a role in driving our results.

Abstract:
Researchers examined a student-driven campaign intended to reduce high-risk drinking at a Midwestern, public research university in the United States. The campaign was implemented as part of a comprehensive social marketing effort to address high-risk drinking. Efforts employed on campus addressed various aspects of the marketing mix, including product, price, place, and promotion through late-night alcohol-free activities, increased enforcement, a substance abuse mentoring program, and the student-driven promotional campaign. Outcome measures of the campaign evaluation included assessing the effectiveness of promotional materials in prompting student visits to the campaign website and assessing the impact on students’ reported drinking-related beliefs and behaviors. Following extensive formative research, student developers designed campaign promotional materials that incorporated socially relevant images and messages to enhance students’ confidence related to making simple, low-risk decisions about drinking. Evaluation included an anonymous survey sent to a stratified random sample of undergraduate students. Responses were gathered regarding student demographics, appeal of promotional materials, self-reported drinking patterns, and whether the campaign impacted students’ reflections on drinking or beliefs and behaviors concerning their own alcohol consumption. Study results indicate online and interactive promotional materials (i.e., Facebook page and campaign video) increased the likelihood of student visits to the website, and students exposed to the website reported increased confidence and use of techniques to reduce alcohol-related harm. Use of socially relevant messages and online or interactive campaign components appear to be promising when implementing campaigns to address college student high-risk drinking.
