Abstract:
The main task of this work was to compare the being used process fluids in mechanical engineering with a focus on polymer and additive fluids. Selected polymer and nanoadditive fluids were compared based on a thread forming test, during which different concentrations of individual fluids were tested. All data from experiments were evaluated, assessed in terms of their properties, and recommended for further practice.

Abstract:
This graduate thesis is focused on measuring the electrical conductivity of the gel polymeric electrolytes, their preparation and deals with the changes of the performance ratio of the individual substances in gel electrolyte The theoretical part deals with electrochemistry, gel electrolytes, the conductivity of electrolytes, gel electrolytes preparation, methods used to evaluate the measured results and on the properties of the ionic liquids. In the practical part is summarized the process of preparing gel electrolytes, the chemicals to prepare the gels with ionic liquids. The results are evaluated by using impedance technique and linear voltammetry, there are calculated the values of the electrical conductivity of the electrolyte and potential windows.

Abstract:
The thesis presents experimental study on application of various polypropylene membranes (with different thicknesses, porosity and pore size) for direct coupling of membrane microextractions with capillary electrophoresis. No comprehensive study, which describes effect of these membrane parameters on extraction recoveries, was published in the past. Previous scientific works prefer application of 100 µm polypropylene membranes for their easy handling and satisfactory extraction efficiencies. Experimental part includes examination of selected polypropylene membranes as supported liquid membranes in-line coupled to capillary electrophoresis for analysis of basic drugs from complex samples. Membranes with three thicknesses (25, 100 and 170 µm) were tested. The highest extraction recoveries were achieved for the 25µm thick polypropylene membrane. Various pH conditions of donor and acceptor operational solutions were examined for extractions from real complex matrices (urine, plasma). The optimal extraction conditions were 10 mM NaOH as donor phase and 10 mM HCl as acceptor phase. 25µm membranes offer higher extraction recoveries, reduced consumption of organic solvents for membrane impregnation, similar mechanical stability and similar clean-up ability compared to thicker polypropylene membranes.

Abstract:
The epoxy based polymer is one of the very common polymers, which was used as a host to create new better materials - nanocomposites. This thesis focused on the improvement of the thermomechanical properties of the epoxy thermosets without deteriorating their existing benefits and on further potential application of this knowledge in "smart" systems. The largest part of this work is dedicated to the reinforcement of epoxy thermosets by in situ generated silica and synthesis of organic-inorganic nanocomposites. Borontrifluoride monoethylamine (BF3MEA) was chosen as effective catalyst for the formation of nanosilica in epoxy-amine network matrix under nonaqueous (non-hydrolytic) sol-gel process. We proposed the mechanism of the nonaqueous sol-gel procedure, studied the structure evolution during the nanocomposite formation, and also determined the structure, morphology and thermomechanical properties of the obtained epoxy-silica nanocomposites. Significant attention in this work was given to the application of coupling agent and ionic liquids to improve compatibilization of the organic matrix and the inorganic part. As a result of the nonaqueous sol-gel process optimization by combination of the tetramethoxysilane (TMOS) and the coupling agent glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GTMS), the high-Tg and...

Title: Relaxation, especially dielectric behaviour of polymer composites and liquid crystalline polymers Author: Milan Neubert Department: Department of Macromolecular Physics Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Jan Nedbal, CSc., Department of Macromolecular Physics Abstract: The subject of the work was to study the relaxation electrical properties of polymer composites and liquid crystalline polymers. Work focused on till now not deeply explored new polymeric materials - on semi-aromatic poly (ester amides) and on composites of poly(vinyl alcohol) with polyaniline. In the case of poly(ester amides), we had three series with different aromatic groups and different length of the aliphatic chain, in the case of composite materials, we studied composites prepared as cryogels. Basic experimental method was dielectric spectroscopy, supplemented by approaches of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. A noncontact measuring method based on eddy currents was newly developed, that is able to provide information about both the conductivity and permittivity of samples, and a measuring cell was constructed, later used to perform part of the experimental work. Keywords: permittivity, conductivity, dielectric spectroscopy, liquid crystalline polymers, conducting polymer composites

Abstract:
Title: Self-assembly of polymers with amphiphilic compounds (surfactants) in aqueous solutions Abstract: This PhD Thesis is devoted to the co-assembly in systems containing electrically charged polymers (polyelectrolytes and block copolymers containing polyelectrolyte sequences). I studied the interactions between block copolymers and oppositely charged surfactants in aqueous solutions, and the structure and properties of co-assembled nanoparticles by a combination of several experimental methods. I found that the spontaneous formation, solubility and stability of complex nanoparticles depend not only on the electrostatic attractive forces but also on the hydrophobic effects. In a major part of my Thesis, I studied the interaction of polyelectrolytes with oppositely charged gemini surfactants (containing two charged head-groups interconnected by a short linker and two hydrophobic tails) which is a relatively new topic - much less studied than the co-assembly with conventional single tail surfactants. Better understanding of the formation and properties of complexes containing gemini surfactants and polymers provides knowledge that should lead to novel tailor-made nanoparticles with desired properties for applications in medicine and new technologies (including nano-technologies). We have shown that the...
