Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to look at the political context and factors influencing which foreign languages are chosen for being taught in a certain country at a certain time, as well as the way the relationships with other countries can influence which foreign languages are used in a certain country at a certain time. Whether or not the elites are those benefitting from foreign languages instruction is also a matter of political context. Various institutions, such as the European Union, can have their say in choosing which foreign languages are the ones that should be learnt, as well as how many foreign languages a citizen should know.

Abstract:
After the events of February 24, 2022, the entire civilized world became chained to Ukraine. Political figures and authoritative mass media could not stand aside from the war in Ukraine, condemning the actions of the aggressor country and supporting the Ukrainian people in their difficult struggle. Of course, when expressing their position, politicians used phraseological units to give their language expressiveness and emotionality. In general, the idioms they used to indicate their negative or neutral attitude can be classified according to their structure, the presence of a metaphorical element, and their origin. It is interesting that most of the idioms used are of military or political origin, although there are also those that come from sports, seafaring, aviation, litigation and money. Analyzing phraseological units by structure, it becomes clear that politicians most often use phraseological units consisting of a verb and a postpositive, and taking into account the metaphorical meaning, the most common in military-political discourse are idioms.

Abstract:
Universal category characterizing the processes of the modern city is the concept of «modern urban practices». The object of the study is modern urban practices, which include activities and processes that determine the development of urban space and ecosphere of the city, improvement of the urban environment, realization of the «right to the city». The subject of the study is the political aspects of modern urban practices, which have a number of areas for the urban space development, preservation and improvement of the urban environment, and enhancement of the citizens’ life quality. In particular, it includes the preservation of cultural heritage, revival of small towns, development of the city’s ecosphere and solution of environmental problems, as well as the solution of issues related to the adaptation of migrants and intercultural interaction, etc. The purpose of this study is to conceptualize the understanding of «modern urban practices», to determine the socio-political aspects of modern urban practices formation, the role of political factors in their development. The methodology for analyzing these challenges is based on a systematic approach that makes it possible to identify connections and relationships between the phenomena of urban practices, their functions in the general urban space, and the political status of these social practices. The result of the study is a typology of modern urban practices in terms of their determination by socio-political factors, the detection of their essence and focus. The application of the study results is based on the fact that they complement the modern concepts of urbanism; allow us to consider the heterogeneous phenomena of the city development within the framework of social life, determining the influence of political factors. As a result of the study the following conclusion can be drawn: the definition and analysis of the socio-political aspects of modern urban practices make it possible to identify their social essence, the possibility of implementing specific models for the development of the urban environment, creating conditions for its safety and comfort, and improving the quality of human life.

Abstract:
The article examines the imperatives of applying contemporary political-theoretical intelligence to political knowledge and political truth. The limits of the contemporary political theory`s tasks are being set, which is gradually updated after the post-behavioral turn. The relativism of contemporary political knowledge associated, with the peculiarities of political activity is studied. The significance of the fundamental justifications` structure of the political existence of the present day is investigated. The influence of political doctrines, which has a claim not only on the correction of macro-political governance and the transformation of the life of society on certain ideological principles, but also of universal significance, is outlined. Hypotheses are put forward on political truth as part of the conceptual-categorical apparatus of modern political science, which allows conducting an examination of the concepts` correspondence and interaction between the political system and the global ecosystem. The significance of political epistemicity is determined in accordance with the priorities and criteria of effective political decisions. The distinction between politicization of ethnicity and ethnization of politics, which introduces an element of instability into political systems of countries of the world, is substantiated. Emphasized the importance of concept of political truth applying within contemporary theoretical discussions and political practice. The influence of the content establishing and the integrated value of political truth as a symbol and a real phenomenon in political science and political life of the modern world is considered. The peculiarities of evolutionary epistemology as a paradigm of ordering ideas about ways of obtaining a plausible political knowledge are studied. The specificity of political epistemism in the evolutionary-cultural context as a result of a long process of approbation of scientific and applied provisions is analyzed. The conditions of establishing possible and used connotations of the notion of truth in the modern scientific environment of political science are revealed. The processes of the constitution of political epistemology, as a subdiscipline, focused on the answers to the fundamental questions of contemporary political theory, are given attention. The main scientific-methodological and philosophical directions of interpretation of the concept of truth in relation to the main components of the political system and political process are considered. Established problems of finding the truth in modern political conditions characterized by variability and dynamism.New centers of authoritative substantiation, which can become only institutionalized scientific communities, research centers, association of expert centers on the local, regional, national and global level, are considered. The need to form an interdoclining and even deligative, based on the discussion and the open approval of political truth is analyzed. It is concluded that the epistemological dimension of political truth, focused on achieving reliable political knowledge on the basis of the intensive development of modern political theory, theoretical political knowledge goes through the improvement of the concept-categorical apparatus and previously established conceptual content.

Abstract:
The scientific community in the humanities agrees that the work of the German post-war philosopher Hans Blumenberg is fascinating, compelling and inspiring, although the texts remain to some extent hard to understand. His extensive exchange with authors like Carl Schmitt, Jacob Taubes or Hannah Arendt show the often forgotten and sometimes systematically hidden political aspects of his philosophy. The theory of modernity, the theory of myth and of course his metaphorology are the main areas of debate which can be checked for their political implications and ramifications. However, the a priori exclusion of republican arguments and ideas points to a systematic problem in Blumenberg’s thought. All his thinking remains in the framework of what has been called “subject-philosophy”, it seems. While his early publications allowed a certain critique of ideology (from the perspective of metaphorology), this gesture almost disappears in his later writings. It is basically the single subject which works on myth, which seems to project “significance” (Bedeutsamkeit) into the world, which makes sense of his life in anecdotes. However, human self-assertion is always a common project, an inherited technique which creates not only myths but also institutions and law. The political aspects in Blumenberg’s work therefore also make transparent the limitations of his thought.

Abstract:
Under the terms of a secret agreement reached between China and Portugal in 1979, Portugal was to continue administering Macao but sovereignty was transferred to China. Eight years later however, the Sino–Portuguese agreement on Macao's future was signed, which stipulated that it would become a Chinese Special Administrative Region on 20 December 1999. Whereas the transitional stage from Portuguese to Chinese administration began in 1987, political development started in 1976 when the principle of democracy was introduced into the colonial legislature (two years after a military coup had toppled the regime of Marcello Caetano in Portugal). This article will explore aspects of Macao's political development since the Portuguese revolution in 1974.
