Abstrak Belakangan ini pertunjukan kesenian tradisional Wayang Potel muncul di Indramayu dengan gaya khasnya yang khusus yaitu sebuah tontonan yang menjadi tuntunan dengan memadukan unsur seni budaya ke dalam metode dakwah Islam. Wayang Potel merupakan wayang khas desa Cikedung, proses pertunjukannya tidak hanya dijadikan sebagai ajang pertunjukan seni dan budaya saja, melainkan sebuah pergerakan dakwah, budaya dan intelektual sehingga dengan menyaksikan atau menonton pertunjukan wayang potel tersebut dapat mengingatkan manusia akan potret atau gambaran bahwa dirinya harus eling atau ingat kepada sang pencipta, sesuai dengan namanya “Potel” yang merupakan pengadopsian nama atau kepanjangan dari “Potret Eling” yang di gagas oleh seorang tokoh agama Indramayu sekitar tahun 2018 yaitu KH. Ibrohim Nawawi, beliau juga menggandeng beberapa budayawan serta para pegiat seni (dalang, senimah dan ahli naskah kuno) seperti: Ki Tarka Sutaraharja, Sudarman S.Sn, Ray Mengku Sutentra S.S, dan Ki dalang Karno. Wayang Potel ini dibuat oleh seorang lulusan sarjana seni dari ISI Yogyakarta yakni Sudarman S.Sn yang akrab disapa kang maman. Cara pembuatanya hanya bermodalkan limbah kertas yang ramah lingkungan kemudian dibentuk menyerupai tokoh wayang berdasarkan versi wayang potel. Dalam pertunjukan Wayang Potel terbagi menjadi dua sesi, dimana sesi pertama cerita wayang dibawakan oleh Ki Dalang Karno dan sesi selanjutnya adalah ceramah keagamaan yang disampaikan oleh KH. Ibrohim Nawawi. Wayang Potel ini berkonsep pengenalan budaya dan agama, bercerita tentang kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai media untuk berceramah diberbagai tempat.

Abstract:

Ethnopharmacological Relevance. Haloxylon scoparium Pomel is a herbal medicine traditionally used for treating scorpions and snakebite, diabetes, and stomachache as well as several other diseases. No systematic study of the potential toxicity of the plant has been described. Aim of the Study. The current study is aimed at assessing the potential toxicity of Haloxylon scoparium Pomel through the acute and subacute toxicity tests. Materials and Methods. Acute toxicity test was performed on Swiss albino mice at a single oral dose of 1-10 g/kg for 14 consecutive days. General behavioral adverse effects, mortality, and latency of mortality were determined. In the subacute study, the Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extract was administered orally at doses of 500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg daily for 30 days to Wistar rats. Body weight and selected biochemical and hematological parameters were determined at the end of the experiment. Sections of livers and kidneys were removed for histological studies. Results. Acute toxicity study showed that the oral LD50 value of Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extract was 5000 mg/kg. The subacute toxicity study of Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extract at doses 500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg did not produce any observable symptoms of toxicity and no significant variation in body weight, organ weights, food, and water consumption or mortality in all treated rats. However, the administration of the Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extract to rats at 500 mg/kg and 1000 mg/kg showed a significant decrease in platelets. Moreover, only at the highest dose (2000 mg/kg), the extract caused a significant increase in red blood cells and hemoglobin. Our results showed that subacute treatments with Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extract at doses of 1000 mg/kg and 2000 mg/kg significantly elevated alkaline phosphatase and triglycerides. Histological studies showed that the subacute treatments of rats with Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extracts, at the doses 1000 and 2000 mg/kg, induced some histopathological changes in the livers but a slight changing in kidneys. Conclusion. Our results indicated low acute toxicity of the aqueous extract of Haloxylon scoparium Pomel. Furthermore, daily oral administration of Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extract caused some damages to the livers of rats treated with high doses, expressed by an increase in some enzyme activities such as ALP. Regarding the renal function, we did not find remarkable toxicity in the subacute treatment with Haloxylon scoparium Pomel extracts at doses 1000 and 2000 mg/kg. However, further toxicity assessments should be done to ascertain the safety or the toxicity of this valuable plant species “Haloxylon scoparium pomel” in subchronic treatments.

Dit artikel behandelt de raakpunten tussen de levensloop van twee Vlamingen. Gemeenzame ervaringen, parallelle ideologische ontwikkelingen en persoonlijke contacten vormen het onderwerp van ons onderzoek. Hierdoor wordt een onbekende en tevens diep menselijke episode van de Vlaamse beweging aan het licht gebracht.Beide protagonisten van dit relaas werden in 1898 op Vlaamse grond geboren, beide waren gevoelig voor de onrechtmatige behandeling van het Vlaamse volk door de franssprekende elite, en tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog zetten beide zich in voor de Vlaamse zaak. Als gevolg werden ze zwaar getroffen door de naoorlogse repressie. Van de Poel vond toevlucht in Nederland waar hij zijn studies voleindigde en een loopbaan aanvatte in de journalistiek. Van Roosbroeck daarentegen stortte zich in het politieke leven en ondernam universitaire studies in de geschiedenis. Terwijl Van de Poel zich journalistisch toelegde op de soms gespannen verhouding tussen Nederland en België, concentreerde Van Roosbroeck zich veel meer op verslaggeving over internationale betrekkingen.Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog namen de wegen van de twee echter plots een sterk uiteenlopende richting: Van de Poel moest meer dan twee jaar doorbrengen in het concentratiekamp Neuengamme bij Hamburg, terwijl Van Roosbroeck lid werd van de Vlaamse SS en in diepe collaboratie verzeilde. Na de oorlog zocht ook hij toevlucht in Nederland en woonde zeven jaar lang ondergedoken bij Van de Poel in Breda. In die tijd publiceerde hij enkel onder pseudoniemen.________Common ground between two careers in journalism: Albert Van de Poel and Rob Van RoosbroeckThis article deals with the common ground between the careers of two Flemings. Common experiences, parallel ideological developments and personal contacts constitute the subject of our research. This sheds light on a previously unknown and at the same time very human episode of the Flemish movement.Both protagonists in this story were born on Flemish territory in 1898; both were sensitive to the unfair treatment of the Flemish people by the French speaking elite, and during the First World War both dedicated themselves to the Flemish cause.Consequently they both suffered severely during the post-war repression. Van de Poel found a refuge in the Netherlands where he completed his studies and started a career in journalism. Van Roosbroeck on the other hand, launched himself into political life and took university courses in history. Whilst Van de Poel specialised his journalistic interests in the tense relationship between the Netherlands and Belgium, Van Roosbroeck, on the other hand, concentrated more on reporting on international relationships.During the Second World War, however, their paths suddenly took very divergent directions: Van de Poel had to spend more than two years in the concentration camp Neuengamme near Hamburg, whilst Van Roosbroeck became a member of the Flemish SS and became deeply involved in collaboration. After the war he also fled to the Netherlands and for seven years he went into hiding with Van de Poel in Breda. During that period he only published under a pen name.

Abstract The origin of the word polder is contested. The older theories derive polder from Dutch pol (‘sod of grass, top, head, higher piece of land’, cognate with English poll(e) and Middle-Low-German pol(le)) or from Dutch poel (‘puddle, pond of still water’; cognate with German Pfuhl, English pool and Middle-Low German pōl(e)/pūl). In this article the author will review the etymological explanations and offer new support for a connection with poel. The original meaning of polder must have been ‘a land covered in puddles, wetland, marshy ground’.

Abstract:

Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui profil peternak dan performa kuantitatif sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO) betina kelompok poel satu dan poel dua di Kabupaten Lampung Timur dan Lampung Selatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sentra Peternakan Rakyat (SPR) di Provinsi Lampung dari bulan September sampai Desember 2017. Peubah yang diamati untuk profil peternak yaitu Umur (U), Tingkat Pendidikan (TP) dan Pekerjaan(P). Performa kuantitatif meliputi bobot badan (BB), lingkar dada (LD), tinggi badan (TB), dan panjang badan (PB).Materi Penelitian sebanyak 199 ekor sapi Betina PO berbagai tingkatan umur dan 53 peternak di kedua SPR. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei. Pengambilan data menggunakan purposive sampling dan wawancara (deep interview) kepada peternak. Data performa ternak untuk membandingkan di dua SPR menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Peternak Sapi PO di SPR Lampung Timur lebih baik dibandingkan Peternak Sapi PO di SPR Lampung Timur. Performa kuantitatif sapi PO betina poel satu di Kabupaten Lampung Timur (BB252,86±68,81kg, LD 124,10±13,26cm, TB 146,24±11,25cm, PB 125,90±13,86cm) masing-masing lebih tinggi (P<0,05) daripada sapi PO betina di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan (BB 252,78±33,14kg, LD 120,39±10,34cm, TB 136,65±9,69 cm, PB 119,08±9,60cm), kecuali pada BB yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Performa kuantitatif sapi PO betina kelompok poel dua di Kabupaten Lampung Timur lebih tinggi (P<0,05) daripada sapi PO betina di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Kesimpulan dari Penelitian ini bahwa peternak dan performa kuantitatif sapi PO betina di SPR Lampung Timur lebih baik daripada sapi-sapi PO betina SPR di Lampung Selatan.

Abstract:

Abstract This article analyses the preparations and the implementation of the 27th International Eucharistic Congress, held at Amsterdam in 1924. After an introduction on the (negative) image of this congress in Dutch historiography, on the person of de papal legate (the Dutch cardinal Willem van Rossum CSSR), and on the phenomenon of the ‘Eucharistic Congresses’ and its organizing committee, the author analyses the forces pro and contra the organization of such a Congress in Amsterdam. The initiative was taken by some ultramontane clergy and laypeople, gathered around the revival of the devotion of the Amsterdam Eucharistic Miracle (1345). The bishop involved, mgr. A. Callier of Harlem, felt little of inviting the organizing committee to choose for Amsterdam, and also the (Roman Catholic) Prime Minister Ruijs de Beerenbrouck kept aloof, fearing a revival of protestant antipapism. So in advance it was already clear that the government and queen Wilhelmina would avoid every diplomatic presence ‐ quit different as was the case at similar congresses in other countries. Besides, a grand procession through the Amsterdam streets was impossible because of the then still prevailing prohibition of public religious processions. The most important ceremonies thus were held in the Amsterdam soccer stadium. The Congress strengthened the feeling of unity of the ‘common’ Catholics with the Dutch cardinal as their shared national icon, but on the other hand it worsened the relations between the Dutch episcopate and the Prime Minister, and their ‘man in Rome’. In the end the Eucharistic Congress had no antipapistic consequences, and only limited political consequences, thanks to quite a lot of informal negotiations before and during the Congress. It nevertheless played a role on the background, when the government decided in 1925 to close the Dutch embassy at the Vatican.

Abstract:

The positive output elementary Luo (POEL) converter is a fourth-order DC–DC converter having highly non-linear dynamic characteristics. In this paper, a new dynamic output voltage feedback controller is proposed to achieve output voltage regulation of the POEL converter. In contrast to the state-of-the-art current-mode controllers for the high-order boost converters, the proposed control strategy uses only the output voltage state variable for feedback purposes. This eliminates the need for the inductor current sensor to reduce the cost and complexity of implementation. The controller design is accompanied by a strong theoretical foundation and detailed stability analyses to obtain some insight into the controlled system. The performance of the proposed controller is then compared with a multi-loop hysteresis-based sliding-mode controller (SMC) to achieve the output voltage-regulation of the same POEL converter. The schemes are compared concerning ease of implementation, in particular, the number of state variables and current sensors required for implementation and the closed-loop dynamic performance. Experimental results illustrating the features of both controllers in the presence of input reference and load changes are presented.

Abstract The 10 000 m speedskating event during the 2022 winter Olympics brought a new world record at 12 min and 30.74 s. In a document released after the competitions, the gold medalist Nils van der Poel describes his technique, including a focus on horizontal forces and a rapid sideways motion in connection with stride changes on the straight sections of the track (the ‘straightaways’). Based on a video of the race, together with his written description, we suggest that van der Poel makes use of the properties of angular momentum to increase his speed during a stride by a rapid inwards shift of the centre of mass.

Abstract:

The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation (Clevenger apparatus) from aerial parts of Astragalus gombiformis were analysed by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS). This study showed that the A. gombiformis essential oils are complex mixtures of important natural compounds, which varied qualitatively and quantitatively between cultivated and wild plants and between phenological stages of development. All analysed oils are characterized by the constant presence of phytol, 6,10,14-trimethyl-2-pentadecanone, 4-terpineol, and γ-terpinene. This study is the fi rst report on the chemical composition of essential oils from A. gombiformis and indicates that these oils should be more studied.

Abstract:

UMKM PRODIVO merupakan unit usaha yang mengolah bahan baku ketela untuk dijadikan makanan ringan seperti pokel. Salah satu tahapan dalam proses produksi ialah kegiatan penekanan parutan ketela yang masih terdapat permasalahan yaitu kapasitasnya hanya bisa menampung 5-8 kg. Hal ini menyebabkan pengulangan penekanan yang membuat pekerja merasa pegal. Dari jumlah 6 pekerja yang bekerja, 66,67% pegal di bagian pinggang, 83,33% pegal di bagian bahu dan 83,33% pegal di bagian tangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk memberikan peningkatan produktifitas pada produksi pokel. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan ergonomi dengan melakukan penilaian sikap kerja dengan perhitungan RULA (Rappid Upper Limb Asessment) dengan cara membandingkan skor nilai level risiko tindakan antara sebelum dan sesudah dirancang. Dari hasil perancangan alat press parutan ketela, setelah dihitung dari aspek teknis, kapasitas alat sebanyak 15-18 kg, besar gaya press 592 N/15 kg parutan ketela, kadar air parutan ketela yang terbuang sebanyak 56,25%, waktu pengepressan 10 menit/15 kg. Sedangkan aspek ergonomis dengan metode RULA sebesar 2 yang berarti aman. Dan dari aspek ekonomis, harga produk sebesar Rp.755.000,00, BEP produk 38 kg pokel, NPV sebesar 18%, IRR sebesar 27,725%, PP sebesar 2,9 tahun. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kapasitas pada alat press setelah diredesain dari kapasitas 5-8 kg menjadi 15-18 kg. Kadar air hasil penekanan meningkat 19% yang artinya penekanan lebih maksimal. Rata rata waktu penekanan sebesar 10,5 menit (8 kg) dari sebelumnya 13,5 menit (15 kg) yang artinya produktifitas meningkat dengan waktu lebih pendek. Dari aspek ergonomis, skor hasil penilaian sikap kerja sebesar 2 yang berarti aman. Sedangkan dari aspek ekonomis, alat press setelah dirancang ulang ini layak untuk dibuat karena NPV > 0.

Peran blantik lebih banyak selesai pada tahap pertemuan penjual dan pembeli, termasuk didalamnya yang terdapat dalam perdanganan hewan ternak sapi maupun kambing di pasar-pasar hewan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui strategi “blantik” dalam metode pemasaran di pasar tradisional hewan Dimoro Blitar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan fenomenologi, berdasarkan pengalaman blantik di pasar tradisional di Kota Blitar pada tahun 2019 saat penelitian berlangsung. Metode yang diguinakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey lapangan dan wawancara langsung dengan narasumber terkait dengan “blantik”. Tujuan penelitian adalah dapat mengetahui bagaimana strategi “blantik” dalam memasarkan hewan ternakya di pasar hewan dan cara blantik mempengaruhi pelanggan atau konsumen agar bersedia membeli dagangannya. Dengan adanya penelitian ini menghasilkan 2 metode pemasaran yang berada di dalam dunia blantik di pasar Dimoro Blitar yaitu metode pemasaran “Ngompori” dan metode pemasara “powel”. Metode pemasaran “Ngompori” merupakan cara menanas-manasi atau menghasut pelanggan agar membeli hewan yang dijual blantik walaupun dengan harga yang tinggi. Metode pemasaran “Powel” adalah metode yang digunakan blantik berdasarkan dari perubahan giginya pada hewan ternak.

Este artigo trata de um estudo sobre o processo de feminização do magistério primário no Brasil, que incorporou na formação docente oriunda da Escola Normal a docência como característica e atribuição do gênero feminino. Dessa forma, esta investigação buscou analisar o modelo de professora idealizado pela Escola Normal nas décadas de 1940 e 1950 por meio da trajetória docente da professora Maria Salete van der Poel, que atuou no Ensino Primário na década de 1950. Metodologicamente, é uma pesquisa documental realizada a partir da legislação educacional e de produções biográficas e (auto)biográficas da professora que foram analisadas e interpretadas à luz do referencial teórico deste estudo. O estudo constatou que Maria Salete van der Poel tinha em suatrajetória docente no Ensino Primário marcas do modelo de docente idealizado na década de 1950 pela Escola Normal, visto que a professora era mulher, solteira e atuava com os métodos da Escola Nova.

Abstract:

In this article I revisit the idea of literary ethnography (proposed by Van De Poel-Knottnerus and Knottnerus, 1994 ) as a method for investigating social phenomena constituted principally through literature. I report the use of this method to investigate the topic of evidence-based healthcare, EBHC. EBHC is a field of discourse much built upon a dichotomy between rationality and emotionality. In this context literary ethnography, a particular type of discourse analysis, is valuable for allowing researchers to bring the emotional currents of technical-rational discourse into conscious awareness. In such discourses, emotions are not written out by name. The researcher must discern emotional phenomena by experiencing the discourse, and (try to) bring them into intelligible expression. As I clarify this process I develop Van de Poel-Knottnerus and Knottnerus’ method theoretically, look to destabilise the rationality-emotionality dichotomy foundational to discourse around EBHC, and so transgress its conventional lines of thought.

Abstract:

Background: Hammada scoparia (Pomel) Iljin (HS), is commonly used by traditional healers in Morocco against microbial and fungal infections. We studied antimicrobial, antifungal and antiradical effects of organic extracts in vitro in order to confirm traditional utilization after phytochemical screening. Materials and methods: Aerial parts of HS have been extracted by hydro-distillation using Clevenger-type apparatus, and the chemical composition was realized by Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS). The antioxidant activity has been evaluated using DPPH test, while the antimicrobial tests of HS extract were conducted on twenty-eight bacterial strains and antifungal on twelve fungal strains. Results: Chemical characterization of HS essential oils (EO) confirmed the presence of carvacrol (82,28%), p-cymene (2,52%), γ-terpinene (2,18%) and Z-caryophyllene (2,04%). Antimicrobial tests of HS extract showed a moderate antibacterial activity without antifungal effect. In addition, HS exhibited a very powerful antiradical activity with IC50 = 1,2 mg/ml compared to that of ascorbic acid (IC50 = 0,5 mg/mL) and butylated hydroxyanisole (0,8 mg/mL). Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration that HS directly inhibits the growth of microorganisms in vitro, and further validates its traditional use as an antiseptic by traditional Moroccan healers.

AbstractThe present study was designed to study the effect of drought on root, stem and leaf anatomy of Astragalus gombiformis Pomel. Several root, stem and leaf anatomical parameters (cross section diameter, cortex, root cortical cells, pith, leaf lamina and mesophyll thickness) were reduced under moderate to severe water deficit (20–30 days of withheld irrigation). The stele/cross section root ratio increased under moderate water deficit. The root’s and stems vascular systems showed reduced xylem vessel diameter and increased wall thickness under water deficit. In addition, the root xylem vessel density was increased in these drought conditions while it was unchanged in the stems. The stomata density was increased under prolonged drought conditions whereas the stomata size was untouched. The leaf vascular system showed reduced xylem and phloem tissue thickness in the main vein under moderate to severe water deficit. However, in the lamina the vascular tissue and the distance between vascular bundle were unaffected. Our findings suggest a complex network of anatomical adaptations such as a reduced vessel size with increased wall thickness, lesser cortical and mesophyll parenchyma formation and increased stomata density. These proprieties are required for the maintenance of water potential and energy storage under water stress which can improve the resistance of A. gombiformis to survive in arid areas.

Abstract This study intends to examine the effect of using bio-rejuvenators (BioCS and BitutechRAP) on Reclaimed Asphalt (RA) binder as seen from the asphalt binder stiffness modulus (Sbit) based on laboratory testing using Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) Frequency Sweep which is compared to Sbit resulting from analysis using Van der Poel nomograph under RTFO (rolling thin film oven) conditions. The comparison was analyzed by looking at the adjustment factor produced from each type of asphalt binder testing. The types of asphalt binders tested were pen 60/70 as control asphalt binder, 23% BioCS mixed in RAbinder, and 17% BitutechRAP mixed in RA binder. The results showed that the Sbit value from the DSR and Van der Poel test results was not too much different, with an adjustment factor of 1.61, the addition of BioCS to the RA binder was more influential than BitutechRAP, this was indicated by the adjustment factor of the BioCS + RA binder value of 2.84 which is close to the pen 60/70 adjustment factor value of 2.64.
