ABSTRAKDevOps mendorong percepatan pengembangan sistem. Namun bukti nyata penerapannya pada sistem tertanam belum mencukupi. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah kesulitan proses deployment pada perangkat. Konsep IoT menghubungkan sistem tertanam dengan jaringan yang memungkinkan proses pembaharuan firmware menggunakan mekanisme Over The Air (OTA). Tulisan ini mengusulkan infrastruktur DevOps untuk pengembangan sistem tertanam. Perangkat keras yang digunakan adalah microcontroller ESP8266. Sedangkan lingkungan DevOps menggunakan perangkat lunak PlatformIO, GitHub dan Travis CI. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengubah user requirement yang kemudian diterapkan pada perangkat keras. Tahapan DevOps (build and test, release hingga deploy) telah berhasil dilakukan secara otomatis. Sistem mampu mendeteksi kesalahan penulisan kode sumber. Rerata waktu keseluruhan proses adalah 77,21 detik. Proses build and test mendominasi waktu proses dengan rerata sebesar 77,21 detik dan waktu deploy memiliki rerata 1,41 detik.Kata kunci: IoT, Sistem Tertanam, OTA, DevOps, ESP8266 ABSTRACTDevOps drives the acceleration of system development. However, the concrete evidence of its application in embedded systems is not sufficient. One of the causes is difficulty in the deployment process on the device. Firmware update using an Over-The-Air (OTA) mechanism is allowed by the IoT concept that connects embedded systems into a network. This paper is proposing a DevOps infrastructure for embedded system development. Proposed infrastructure using ESP8266 for the hardware and PlatformIO, GitHub, and Travis CI for the DevOps environment. Testing the proposed system is done by changing the user requirements that are applied to the hardware. The DevOps stages from building and test, release, and deployment have automatically been done. The system is also able to detect developer errors in writing source code. The average time of the whole process on trial was 77.21 seconds. The build and test process dominates the processing time with an average of 77.21 seconds and the deployment time is relatively short with an average of 1.41 seconds.Keywords: IoT, Embedded System, OTA, DevOps, ESP8266

Abstract:
Hydrotreating processing is commonly used to remove platforming catalyst poisons from straight run or cracked naphthas prior to charging to the platforming Process unit. It can be seen that the primary function of the naphtha Hydrotreating Process can be characterized as a “Clean up” Operation. The catalyst used in the Naphtha Hydrotreating Process is composed of an alumina base impregnated with compounds of cobalt or nickel and molybdenum. The catalyst is insensitive to most poisons which affect dehydrogenation reactions. A relatively high percentage of carbon on the catalyst does not materially affect its sensitivity or selectivity. Volumetric recoveries of products depend on the sulfur and olefin contents [1]. The Naphtha Hydrotreating Process is a catalytic refining process employing a selected catalyst and a hydrogen-rich gas stream to decompose organic sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen compounds contained in hydrocarbon fractions. In addition, hydrotreating removes organo-metallic compounds and saturates olefinic compounds. Organo-metallic compounds, notably arsenic and lead compounds, are known to be permanent poisons to platinum catalysts. "The complete removal of these materials by Hydrotreating processing gives longer catalyst life in the platforming unit. Sulfur, above a critical level, is a temporary poison to platforming catalysts and causes an unfavorable change in the product distribution. Organic nitrogen is also a temporary poison to platforming catalyst. It is an extremely potent one, however, and relatively small amounts of nitrogen compounds in the Platformer feed can cause large deactivation effects, as well as the deposition of ammonium chloride salts in the platforming unit cold sections. Oxygen compounds are detrimental to the operation of a Platformer. Any oxygen compounds which are not removed in the hydrotreater will be converted to water in the platforming unit, thus affecting the water/ chloride balance of the platforming catalyst. Large amounts of olefins contribute to increase coking of the platforming catalyst. Also, olefins can poly­merize at platforming operating conditions which can result in exchanger and reactor fouling. The Naphtha Hydrotreating Process makes a major contribution to the ease of operation and economy of platforming. Much greater flexibility is afforded in choice of allowable charge stocks to the platforming unit. Because this unit protects the platforming catalyst, it is important to maintain consistently good operation in the Hydrotreating Unit. In addition to treating naphtha for Platformer feed, naphthas produced from thermal cracking processes, such as delayed coking and visbreaking, are usually high in olefinic content and other contaminants, and may not be stable in storage. These naphthas may be hydrotreated to stabilize the olefins and to remove organic or metallic contaminants, thus providing a marketable product.

Kot je zapisano v drugem odstavku Strategije o zunanji politiki Republike Slovenije, ki je bila sprejeta leta 2015, si želi Slovenija v odnosu do Azije, zagotoviti močno pozicijo v različnih pobudah, skozi katere poskušajo naši azijski partnerji sodelovati z Srednjo in Jugovzhodno Evropo. V članku bomo dokazovali tako močno pozicijo Slovenije skozi Platformo 16+1 in Pobudo pas in cesta na podlagi zgodovinskega, političnega, gospodarskega, lokalnega in osebnega sodelovanja med Slovenijo in Kitajsko.

Recent advancements in Digital Communication Systems and Web Technology tendered information systems cheaper and allow people to move into the electronic Government (eGov) platforms. eGov is the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), whereas good governance refers to how well public authorities manage public and social resources. eGov supports excellent governance practices, yet it also has certain limitations. In this article, we enhance the study of Jiyuan City’s Internet-based e-government system based on an analysis of theoretical knowledge and application state. First, we gathered all government affairs platform websites; then, we built the supervision system function code in accordance with the supervision system activity diagram. Finally, the office platform's system deployment was completed, and the government office platform’s analysis environment was provided, and it was validated via experiments. The experimental results show that when there are 300 government affairs tasks to be handled, the data recall rate of the design platform’s government affairs website is 95%, and the design platform’s government affairs processing time is 15 minutes. The proposed government affairs platform has a high processing efficiency and data-carrying capacity.

A világűr mára már nem csak a gazdasági nagyhatalmak kiváltsága. A társuló technológia fejlődésének hatására bekövetkező költségcsökkenés eredményeképpen napjainkban akár egy kis cég, alacsony költségvetéssel is megmérettetheti magát a 21. század űrversenyében. Ehhez biztosítanak tökéletes platformot a nano- és mikroműholdak, amelyek alkalmazási lehetőségei folyamatosan bővülnek. Az egyre változatosabb hasznos terhek azonban értéktelenek a sokoldalú platformok és azok alapvető alrendszerei nélkül, mint például a fedélzeti számítógép, tápegység, kommunikációs egység vagy a műhold térbeli orientációjáért felelős alrendszer (Attitude Determination and Control System – ADCS). Így felmerül az igény egy olyan univerzális műholdplatform fejlesztésére, amelyben a létfontosságú alrendszerek biztosítva vannak különböző, harmadik fél által fejlesztett hasznos terhek, illetve tudományos kísérleti eszközök számára. Ezzel létrehozhatunk egy standardizált, költséghatékony és rugalmasan bővíthető, ezáltal még szélesebb körben elérhető kisműholdas platformot. A cikkben részletesen bemutatunk egy, a fentiekben leírt követelményeknek megfelelő univerzális CubeSatplatformot, kitérünk az egyedi mérnöki módszereket és megoldásokat igénylő fejlesztési folyamatokra, a nagy megbízhatóságú szoftvertechnológia előnyeire és a platform nyújtotta új lehetőségekre.

Orangutan kalimantan (pongo pygmaeus) merupakan spesies kera besar yang menghuni di pulau kalimantan, habitat orangutan kalimantan sendiri berada di hutan dan lahan gambut, namun seiring waktu habitat orangutan mulai berkurang karena pembukaan lahan untuk industri kelapa sawit, pembangunan infrastruktur, perumahan untuk rakyat, orangutan sering dianggap hama oleh petani kelapa sawit dikarenakan sering memakan buah kelapa sawit yang sudah memasuki masa panen sehingga orangutan sering diburu, dibunuh, atau diperjual belikan dipasar gelap. Atas dasar inilah dibangun sebuah game yang memperkenalkan kembali satwa orangutan kalimantan kepada masyarakat umum kedalam game “Adventure of Utan” berbasis Android . Game “Adventure of Utan” merupakan game platforming side scrolling, yang dibangun menggunakan Construct 2 sebagai game engine, dan CCST (Challenge Cadence Skill-Theme) sebagai dasar membangun level. CCST merupakan dasar pengembangan level didalam game yang bergenre platformer, penggunaan CCST sendiri terletak pada pelevelan yang meliputi NPC, rintangan, skoring, dan penalty. Game Adventure of Utan telah dilakukan pengujian secara fungsional untuk mengetahui apakah game berjalan dengan baik sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai media pengenalan satwa orangutan kalimantan kepada masyarakat umum.

In this article, the direct singular positions of the parallel manipulator Tricept are determined. An alternative 3 × 3 Jacobian matrix, simpler than the existing one, is obtained in this study. For a given moving platform's orientation, the determinant of this Jacobian matrix may be expressed as a cubic polynomial in moving platform's equation length. Direct singular positions may thus be obtained by solving cubic polynomial equations. For an arbitrarily chosen moving platform's orientation, there exists at least one moving platform's extension length that causes direct kinematic singularity. It is found that if moving platform's size is larger than a specific value, then within the moving platform's domain there exist two regions, in which direct kinematic singularities can only occur at positions impossible to reach.

Rad preko platformi predstavlja atipični, novi oblik rada, koji je omogućila digitalna tehnologija. Odlikuje se. najčešće, trojnim pravnim odnosom između digitalne platforme, radnika na platformi i klijenta. Pošto se pojavljuje u različitim oblicima, trenutno predstavlja problem na polju radnog zakonodavstva, socijalne zaštite i oporezivanja u nacionalnim okvirima. Nesumnjivo da je platformski rad doprineo diversifikaciji tržišta rada. Novi radni zadaci koji se obavljaju preko digitalnih platformi kao što su „Uber”, „Deliveroo” ili „Foodora” postavljaju nove uslove za radnike koji na kraju ne mogu da budu jasno klasifikovani ni kao „zaposleni” ni kao „samozaposleni”. Van svake sumnje je da danas poslodavci i zaposleni žele više fleksibilnosti u organizaciji rada, što im digitalizacija omogućava. Međutim, uz pozitivne, postoje i negativne posledice ovakve fleksibilnosti, koja se ogleda, pre svega, u intenziviranju radnih zadataka i postepenog ukidanja granica između porodičnih i radnih obaveza. Upotreba novih oblika rada, koji se danas obavljaju preko različitih digitalnih platformi je u stalnom porastu. Stoga je od suštinskog značaja da uočimo ovakve promene, pozabavimo se problemima koje one nose i ne ostavimo da se same od sebe problemi reše. U ovom radu biće predstavljeni najznačajniji oblici platformskog rada, kao i njegove vrste i istovremeno će biti ukazano na pojedine normativne izazove sa kojima se skoro sve savremene države susreću.

Об'єктом розробки є комп’ютерна система контролю доступу з використанням ідентифікаційних карт. Метою роботи було реалізація архітектури, структури всієї системи, структури апаратної, серверної та графічної частин системи контролю доступу. Основним методом проектування було системне та структурне проектування, для побудови взаємодії системи було використано PlantUML діаграми, також були використані інструменти розробки IntelliJ IDEA так VisualStudioCode з використання PlatformIO плагіну. У ході виконання кваліфікаційної роботи проведено аналіз існуючих систем і було виконано наступні пункти: – Створення архітектури системи контролю доступу з використання ідентифікаційних карт; – Створення схеми принципової, вибір апаратних засобів для створення пристрою контролю доступу; – Проектування і реалізація програмних частин апаратної, серверної та графічної частин системи; – Розробка структури бази даних ; Користувач може використовувати систему для налаштування контролю доступу в підприємстві або в приватних цілях на території будь якого масштабу, винятком є те що, на території де повинні працювати пристрої контролю доступу повинна бути WIFI мрежа і всі пристрої повинні знаходитися в одній локальній мережі. Можливе подальше вдосконалення системи шляхом додавання нового функціоналу: розширення видів зчитувачів, інтеграція з іншими СКДУ. Робота має практичну цінність. Розрахунок економічної ефективності не проводився.
The object of development is a computer access control system using identification cards. The purpose of the work was to implement the architecture, the structure of the entire system, the structure of the hardware, server and graphical parts of the access control system. The main design method was system and structural design, PlantUML diagrams were used to build the system interaction, IntelliJ IDEA and VisualStudioCode development tools using the PlatformIO plugin were also used. During the qualification work the analysis of the existing systems was carried out and the following points were fulfilled: - Creating the architecture of the access control system using identification cards; - Creating a schematic diagram, the choice of hardware to create an access control device; - Design and implementation of software parts of hardware, server and graphics systems; - Development of database structure; The user can use the system to set up access control in the enterprise or for private purposes in any area, except that in the area where the access control devices must work, there must be a WIFI network and all devices must be in one local network. It is possible to further improve the system by adding new functionality: expanding the types of readers, integration with others ACS. The work has practical value. The calculation of economic efficiency was not performed.

Goal of the thesis is to show the possibilities of using ordinary hobbyist RC servos and means of their control by a computer. For demonstration of the capabilities of servos, we have created Stewart platform which is using hobbyist servos to position the platform. In the thesis there is explained principle of the inner working of a servo, their properties, abilities and also means of their control by a computer. In practical chapters of the thesis there is documented process of designing and implementing of functional Stewart platform along with specific properties of this platform which influence its design. This platform is also reviewed and based on the results we will show technical properties of the platform, advantages and disadvantages of using ordinary hobbyist servos to control the platform. Design of the platform and its documentation is created with respect to intent to make the ddesign, source codes, documentation available to public on wepages focused on aggregating of instructables and tutorials to make usage of outputs possible in practice.

Abstract:
The theory of this thesis focuses on particulars of multi-sided platform businesses with special emphasis put on early stage start-ups. The goal is to capture crucial findings and fuse them together to point out specifics which apply only for start-ups that are developed in form of multi-sided platform business. This thesis should provide guidance to all entrepreneurs considering such new business formations. It aims at showing them the most important points leading to positive value creation in multi-sided platform businesses. Specifically, it explains the strategic points hidden behind pricing and network effects utilization. At the same time it depicts what are the unnecessary distractions which just destroy attention and consume time and effort. Consequently, these findings are tested on practical example, where real start-up is modelled using this theoretical framework. Such real application points out strong and weak points. Consequently, the optimal framework is derived based on prior findings. The main suggestions point out what should be examined further by the theory and where the research captured enough knowledge.

Movement interaction in games has over the last years been a main subject in the area of game design and recent motion based interaction systems provide many improvements over earlier systems. Research has proven that motion based games provide several benefits over general games, they increase the players’ engagement level and may induce both mental and physical health benefits. Still, not much research has been conducted in the area of motion based platform games, even though the platform game genre is one of the most popular game genres. In this thesis, a case study is conducted in order to extract design principles and guidelines applicable for motion based platform games. The study includes implementation of a browser-based 2D platform game that uses the web camera to provide motion based interaction. One of the conclusions in this study indicates that many game features from ordinary platform games only require minor modifications to be applicable for motion based platform games.

Abstract:
The topic of this thesis is the design and realization of a modular Data concentrator for various types of measurements in diverse conditions. The device conception, basic principles, design and functionality are described herein. Also, the lightweight protocol design for radio communication, standardized XML format for data storage and cloud usage are described. The electrical design of the device as well as the design of the printed circuit board was made using the Eagle Autodesk electronic design automation software (Eagle Autodesk EDA). The control software written in C/C++ for a target microcontroller (ESP32-WROOM-32) is based on a FreeRTOS platform and ESP-IDF framework. An IDE for managing this software is Visual Studio Code with PlatformIO extension. Selected and used Cloud Platform is ThingSpeak from Mathworks, which uses certain components from Matlab platform.

The structure as well as trends of p2p lending industry are described. The returns of p2p loans are compared with traditional assets such as bonds, stocks and commodities in the 2011-2016 period. The last part of the thesis examines the loanbook of the most prominent p2p platform lender, Lending Club.

O presente estudo pretende contribuir para esse esforço, explorando o papel das parcerias na internacionalização das plataformas digitais, dos pontos de vista da Gestão Estratégica e de Gestão de Negócios Internacionais. A questão de investigação sobrejacente a este estudo é formulada com base numa revisão de literatura sobre o modelo de negócio das empresas plataforma e o seu processo de internacionalização: Como é que os ecossistemas de plataforma locais são desenvolvidos e estabelecidos? Para responder a esta questão, é desenvolvido um caso de estudo explanatório com base em dois casos altamente contrastantes: a Microsoft Portugal e a Too Good To Go Portugal. Este trabalho descobre que as parcerias podem desenvolver ecossistemas de plataforma e criar oportunidades de negócio em mercados estrangeiros. As plataformas capacitam os seus parceiros com ferramentas e conhecimento por forma a desenvolver e enriquecer ecossistemas. O termo parceiro inclui múltiplas empresas a desempenhar diversos papéis, organizadas de forma hierárquica. As plataformas alavancam parcerias locais e, por vezes, internacionais, aumentando a competitividade local. Ainda assim, parcerias internacionais podem não se traduzir diretamente em parcerias locais. Finalmente, fatores como a credibilidade da empresa plataforma no mercado e o seu alinhamento estratégico com o contexto ético, social e ambiental, podem ter uma influência positiva na sua difusão em mercados e ecossistemas no estrangeiro.
The platform phenomena is central to the contemporary socio-economic paradigm. In a few decades, the platform business model has managed to disrupt and fundamentally change multiple industries. Although this topic is being thoroughly studied by contemporary academia, it still yields discoveries. This research aims to contribute to that effort by exploring the role of partnerships in the internationalization of digital platforms, from the points of view of Strategic Management and International Business. It draws from a literature review on the platform business model and the internationalization process of platform firms to formulate an overarching research question: How are local platform ecosystems established and developed? To answer this question an explanatory case-study based on two highly contrasting cases: Microsoft Portugal and Too Good To Go Portugal is developed. This work finds that partnerships can develop platform ecosystems and create business opportunities in foreign markets. Platform firms invest and empower partners with tools and knowledge. Partner is a catch-all term that includes multiple firms playing diverse roles, organized in hierarchical fashion. Platforms can leverage on local and, sometimes, international partnerships to boost local competitiveness. Yet, international partnerships may not translate directly into local partnerships. Finally, factors such as the market credibility of the platform firm and its strategic attunement to the social, environmental, and ethical context may have a positive influence on platform diffusion in foreign user networks and ecosystems.

In the last century there have been drastic changes in the way products are developed and manufactured – manufacturing technologies have advanced and at the same time global competition has increased tremendously. For companies to survive, the name of the game has been to offer greater product variety, in more frequent intervals, and for a lower price. Mass production has been replaced by mass customization, where the basic rule is that the customers should get exactly what they want, at the time they want it.

A partial remedy to concurrently lower cost as well as provide customers with a greater number of variants has been to use platforms*. Platforms in the manufacturing industry have at times been highly advantageous while in other instances they have caused more problems than benefit. Platforms exist in different contexts and scope, and it has been found that companies need to improve their platform management skills in order to increase the general level of competitive advantage.

This dissertation proposes that a company can considerably improve the management of its platforms by increasing its holistic understanding of them. To do this, platforms are viewed from different viewpoints that aim to both display the effect a platform has on its surroundings, as well as the effect its surroundings has on it. This approach has been incorporated into a method called the PAMatrix (Platform Assessment Matrix) that uses a synthesis of cross-functional, subjective expert opinion and consensus based decision making.

The PAMatrix method uses already existing implicit and explicit knowledge to improve decision making on how to manage each individual platform. First a set of platforms are identified that the company views as key enablers for creating a competitive advantage. The platforms are then assessed from several different viewpoints – each capturing a partial evaluation of the platforms’ status or effect. After an assessment of a viewpoint, each stakeholder individually suggests a specific strategic action plan along with a weight factor of how important the viewpoint is to the overall assessment of the specific platform. Finally, the discrete action plan suggestions are collected and jointly assessed and debated – based on which, a final strategic action plan can be made.

The method has been tested in three industrial situations, where its use has been considered beneficial and platform understanding has increased.

* In this dissertation, a platform is defined as the set of core assets that are reused to create a competitive advantage.

Offering increased variety in a market is one method of capturing greater market share. However, we generally observe diminishing marginal returns in share as the size of the product line is increased. Leveraging commonality is a means of offsetting this constraint as it leads to reductions in manufacturing costs and build complexity. Product platforms strive to capitalize on the naturally occurring phenomena that yield commonality in a product line. The structure of design variable values of individually optimized products create opportunities for commonality in a bottom-up platform, while a top-down platform discovers opportunities for commonality through similarity in customer preferences. This paper explores the effect of changing the number of products, and commonality between those products, on market share. Results from designing a varying number of products independently are leveraged to create a bottom-up product platform. A top-down product platform approach based on a heterogeneous discrete choice model and a multiobjective genetic algorithm is presented that allow commonality decisions and product configuration to occur simultaneously. Using the platforming techniques presented in this paper, it is shown that the top-down platforming approach allows for more well-informed platformed design by providing knowledge of the tradeoff between commonality and market share.

A new 16-leg mega-frame platform (MFP) was constructed based on an actual jacket platform (W12–1) using the mega-frame theory. Two control platforms, traditional jacket platform and jacket platform with upright column, were also built based on principle that all the platforms had the equal or similar weight, the same upper deck structure and the same function. Every column of the MFP had the most equal load and the smallest stress under the same horizontal and vertical unequal loads. So the MFP had the best loads bearing ability of all the three types’ platforms above. In order to find out the effect of the structure parameters’ change to the platforms’ static performance, many types of MFPs were constructed by changing the number, the height and the stiffness of the major beams and/or by changing the stiffness and the angle of the major columns on the basic model MFP-313707. The analyses of all types of MFPs with different parameters under the same horizontal and vertical unequal loads show that: 1) The increase of the major beams’ height makes the platforms’ columns bear more equally than the increase of the major beams’ number; 2) The increase of major columns’ stiffness has better effect on the platform’s maximal deformation decrease and the columns’ loads equality. And the effect of the increase of the major beams’ and columns’ stiffness on the MFP’s static capability has the optimal values. Beyond the optimal values, the increase of the platforms’ weight caused by the increase of the stiffness is much bigger than the decrease of the platform’s deformation and the increase of the columns’ loads’ equality. The analyses also show that the slope angle of the platforms’ columns must be set around 10°.

Jacket platforms are inevitably undergoing the environmental loads such as wind, waves, current, ice and earthquake etc., which will induce continuous vibration of the platforms. The vibration, on one hand, will cause fatigue damage, decreasing the platform’s reliability; on the other hand, the excessive vibration can’t satisfy the basic psychological requirements of the personnel. In order to reduce the excessive vibration of jacket platforms effectively, many control strategy and control equipments are proposed and studied. In the present study, a model experiment is designed to investigate the effectiveness of semi-active vibration control system with Magnetorheological (MR) Damper. A typical jacket offshore platform in Mexico Gulf is selected as experimental prototype. The model of the jacket platform is designed based on dynamical similarity criterion by the scale of 1:50. Furthermore, the optimal semi-active system of MR damper is designed by fuzzy control theory. In order to investigate the control effect of MR damper on the jacket platform under regular and random wave state, several model experiment load cases are performed. The experimental results show that the MR system designed by fuzzy theory can reduce the vibration of the platform effectively and in the same time the control effect is stable.

Nowadays, there are a lot of oil and gas exploration activities all over the world, especially offshore. Oil and gas production itself has many supporting factors in the production process, of which one of them is the offshore platform. Over time, the offshore platform will experience a degradation in strength from the initial design, therefore offshore platforms need to carry out appropriate inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) programs so that the offshore platform does not reach critical conditions and disrupt the oil and gas production process, resulting in significant losses and not achieving the planned production rates. The offshore platform design is a combination of steel structure and other materials, methods, and loads that are initially worked at the port, such as wave loads, currents, and several other parameters such as gravity, wind, and earthquake. Most of the offshore platforms that currently exist (worldwide) were made in the period of oil investment that developed between 1970 and 1980, thus, the platform's age has now reached 40 to 50 years (El-Reedy, 2012). This research data based on a platform in the Makassar strait between the islands of Kalimantan and Sulawesi. The method used in this research is the platform's design, data observation, data analysis, data processing, and statistical multilinear regression analysis. This research is investigating the degradation trend of the offshore platform and predicting the future of potential failure because of corrosion and marine growth. After the platform encounters degradation over several years, it will decrease the service life before the degradation starts to matter. The results show after data processing that, offshore platforms encounter degradation over several years, and it is presented by a graph containing the condition trend over a multi-year condition because of corrosion and marine growth, and its effect towards unity check (UC) that define structure health. Unity check value produced from allowable stress versus capacity. In this research, structural health monitoring is predicting the potential failure of the platform towards its UC effect of corrosion and marine growth, with a max of the UC value is 0.8 because its a critical value. The failure of the structure possibly would have an affect on the cost-effectiveness. Therefore it is necessary to predict when the structure will fail so that the costs used are effective. Unfortunately, there is no core data for the environmental changes every year at the platform, so the model's equation does not include environmental conditions.

A wideband multiple extended tuned mass dampers (METMD) system has been developed for reducing the multiple resonant responses of the platforms to all kinds of loads, such as earthquake, typhoon, tsunami and big ice load. This system is composed of several subsystems, each of which consists of one set of extended tuned mass damper (ETMD) unit covering a specific frequency bandwidth, and its average frequency is tuned to one of the first resonant frequencies of the platform. The offshore platform is simplified to a single degree-of-freedom (DOF) system to which a METMD subsystem (composed of m ETMDs) is attached and constitutes m+1 DOFs system. The total mass ratio of the METMD subsystem to the platform is 14% and the frequency ratio of the exciting frequency to the platform’s natural frequency varies in [0.5, 1.5]. The theory analysis shows that: 1) the platform has the better vibration control effect when the non-dimensional frequency bandwidth Ω, which is defined as the ratio of the frequency range to the controlled (target) platforms natural frequency, is in [0.35, 0.6]; 2) the damping coefficient ξ of ETMD systems is in [0.05, 0.15] and 3) the number of the ETMDs is 5 when Ω = 0.45 and ξ = 0.1. The FEM simulation shows that the METMD has a better vibration control effect on the mega-platforms’ vibration control under the random ocean wave load.

Structural vibration monitoring can aid in assessing offshore platform structural integrity. The method utilizes topside acceleration measurements to detect the platform’s natural periods of vibration; the periods depend only on platform weights (mass) and resistance (stiffness). If the platform’s natural period increases over time, in the absence of a change in mass, it can indicate a loss of structural integrity. The vibration survey utilizes a portable monitoring system, which includes sensitive low frequency accelerometers. The above water monitoring provides information on the below water structural integrity; the method is very low cost when compared to diver or ROV surveys. Examples of structural monitoring surveys are presented, including the following: verification that a platform remained fit for purpose despite having its foundation disturbed by a shallow gas release, two cases of using surveys to confirm jacket stiffness recovery following repairs of structural damage caused by Gulf of Mexico hurricanes and evaluation of a minimal platform after a heavy compressor was installed. The development of a natural period database is reviewed. The database, covering 95 platforms in Asian waters, was developed to reduce inspection costs and aid in life extension reviews, as well as providing quick integrity assessments should a tropical cyclone cross the production area.

This research focuses on the particular issue of how differences between platform elements and differentiating elements are evidenced in the product layout or configuration. The premise of this research is that certain architectural properties, such as modularity, vary between platform and differentiating elements. Both function and physical solution commonality provide a descriptor with which to distinguish and rank platform and differentiating elements. By evaluating components of a product in terms of function commonality, physical solution commonality, and modularity, a comparison can be made between platforms and differentiating elements with respect to these indices. The hypothesis of this work is that platforms are integrated and the non-common differentiating elements are, relative to the platforms, more modular. While anecdotal evidence exists to support this idea, the purpose of this work is to evaluate two existing product families as a means for analyzing this hypothesized relation. The result of this research is a descriptive set of knowledge that illustrates the distinguishing factors between platform and differentiating elements. The data specifically demonstrate the differences in architecture between platforms and differentiating elements, thus suggesting how these design aspects can and should be addressed at the conceptual stage of design. While not the focus of this study, future research involving a more prescriptive approach to conceptual design can directly benefit from the results. The knowledge gained in this work serves as a foundation for addressing portfolio design where both customization and commonality are key issues.

Abstract This contribution presents a screw theory-based method for determining the mobility of fully parallel platforms. The method is based in the application of three stages. The first stage involves the application of the intersection of the subalgebras of Lie algebra, se(3), of the special Euclidean group, SE(3), associated with the legs of the platform. The second stage analyzes the possibility of the legs of the platform generating a sum or direct sum of two subalgebras of the Lie algebra, se(3). The last stage, if necessary, considers the possibility of the kinematic pairs of the legs satisfying certain velocity conditions; these conditions allow to reduce the platform’s mobility analysis to one that can solved using one of the two previous stages.

As part of the initiative "Strategic Networking Platforms in the Context of Major Societal Challenges", the BMBWF funded four networking platforms, starting in mid-2016: - Network Ageing - Ageing and Demographic Change as Challenge and Opportunity". - National networking platform for personalised medicine (ÖPPM) - National networking platform for "Sustainable Water Systems - National Networking Platform for "European and International Climate Agendas The three-year funding periods of these networking platforms will end in 2020 at the latest. Therefore, the EU and OECD Research Policy Division (Division V) responsible for the networking platforms OECD Research Policy (Department V/5) of the BMBWF commissioned Technopolis Group Austria to evaluate the National Networking Platforms of the BMBWF. The aim was to analyse what has been achieved so far and, on this basis, to develop recommendations for future work, both individually for each funded networking platform and for the design and management of the platform initiative itself by the BMBWF - with regard to the latter, the four funded networking platforms serve as pilot projects.

The urgency of application of technologies and means of distance learning in educational process of higher educational institutions is designated. The growing frequency of using cloud services and electronic textbooks in mobile and distance learning is noted. The importance of building educational environment is highlighted, where the key element is e-learning resources in digital form, including structure, subject content and metadata about the course. For higher educational institutions, the need for methodical support for the preparation of educational content on the basis of distance education platforms is determined. The experience of using the free distance education platform Moodle within the framework of the higher educational institution Donbass State Engineering Academy is considered. Methodical aspects of training content preparation on the basis of distance education platforms on the example of MoodleDDMA system are given. The General structure of the distance course and an example of evaluation of test tasks of the distance course (module) on topics are considered. An example of the presentation of the course on the basis of distance education platform MoodleDDMA is given. Conclusions about the experience of using the Moodle distance education system at the Donbass State Engineering Academy from the point of view of teachers and students are drawn. The perspective directions of researches and development of the Moodle distance education platform in completion and expansion of educational materials by multimedia elements and links, and also creation of the application for mobile devices for possibility of more effective use of the platform are allocated.
