Abstract:

Abstract:
The focus of this research is (1) to describe and analyze how the process of online lectures at Universitas PGRI Semarang, and (2) to describe and analyze how the results of the implementation of online lectures at Universitas PGRI Semarang in suppressing disparities in higher education quality. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to monitor and evaluate the implementation of online learning at Universitas PGRI Semarang through the mechanism of online learning guidelines by the Quality Assurance Institute. This research uses a mixed method or often referred to as a mixed method. Data collection for the online lecture process was captured by using an online lecture implementation questionnaire filled out by students and lectures via googleform. The second data is student learning outcomes/achievements downloaded from the Universitas PGRI Semarang Lecture Information System (SIP). The results of the implementation of online lectures at Universitas PGRI Semarang are still not in line with expectations. Because students who carry out online lectures are not necessarily in a place with stable internet access, even though on the other hand online lectures require good internet access not only from the lecturer side but also from the student side. The limitations experienced by these students can cause the understanding of the material that has been delivered by the lecturer can not be maximized. The conclusion of the implementation of lectures are still not maximized so that it needs to be addressed immediately by increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of learning, one way is by providing education quota assistance or carrying out blended learning by taking into account the principles of the Covid-19 prevention protocol.

Abstract:

Abstract:
This article focuses on the multimodal structure of the online lecture in German Studies. In a pandemic context, the field of teaching at German universities has responded very quickly to the changes that have taken place in the way of communication. Although the academic lecture is a largely established form of scholarly interaction between professor and students, in distance learning it is being replaced by the online lecture. The various communicative elements (text and images in the presentation, as well as facial expressions and gestures accompanying the teacher’s speech) combine with each other to create a complex and multidimensional form of multimodality. The analysis in this article is based on the classification of online lectures and the model of this multimodal text in scientific Internet communication. The 25 German-language online lectures in linguistics and literary studies posted between 2020 and 2022 on the YouTube platform as well as on the websites of five German universities (e. g. lecture2go.uni-hamburg.de) were selected as research material. The choice of these lectures was caused by their availability on the Internet and their general topic (German Studies lectures). Discourse analysis as well as the method of systematization and classification were used to study the empirical material. Based on lecture transcripts, nonverbal characteristics and audiovisual components three main types of online lectures were identified: two-modal lectures with a predominance of audio and verbal communication channels, the most common three-modal online lectures, in which three main modes of information transmission interact at once: verbal, nonverbal and prosodic. The most complex combination of multimodal means is reflected in the last group of crossmodal lectures, where the lecturer simultaneously duplicates several communication channels in different ways to communicate more effectively with the student audience. To sum up, the analysis allowed us to answer the question, what is the peculiarity of multimodal structure in online lectures and what discursive-communicative strategies are used by German-speaking lecturers for constructing lecture discourse in the humanities field of study.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Students are always confused with a schedule of lectures, about time of lectures, room that will be used, even about come or not the lecturer on class. As a result, students must always go to the education department to inquire this issue. It is very ineffective. But there is no system that helps students in overcoming this problem. In this paper, the authors build a system with the title is the information system of the schedules of lectures using television. The system is built using Delphi 6.0 programming language and uses Microsoft Access 2003 as the database. To operate this system requires a CPU and a television screen as an output device. This system provides information on the schedule of lectures to the students through a television screen. Information provided includes schedule of lectures, room that will be used, the certainty of the lecture will take place, and informing announcements and activities that will take place. These systems also support the effectiveness of the performance of educational staff in the conduct of daily operations.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In the article, you can get an answer to such questions as the place of a lecture in education and on the basis of this concept about the content of a lecture, what can and cannot be talked about. You cannot give all the material in a lecture. In fact, both an inexperienced teacher and a teacher with vast experience can make one methodological mistake: they want to include all their knowledge in the lecture. The teacher, trying to have time to present all the prepared material, lectures quickly. This of course reduces the effectiveness of the lecture. This note provides specific suggestions and discusses the didactic and psychological conditions for organizing the lecture. This article is recommended for university professors for use in lectures.

Abstract:
Different empirical studies show that the effect of mutual coupling and the random position and orientation of tag antennas in a reduced volume result in a degradation of key performance indicators of an RFID system such as the read-range and the read-rate. This thesis takes part in the performance analysis of such an RFID system by exploring the physical phenomena behind the degradation and by introducing statistical techniques into investigations. Prior to the group behaviour investigations, the sensitivity and the impedance of two RFID chips (Higgs-3 and Higgs-9) have been measured. Two RFID tags have been used, a commercial one (ALN-9662) associated with the Higgs-3 chip and a home-made tag, which has been fabricated in laboratory to match the Higgs-9 chip. The read range of both tags has measured along with their antenna impedance. The measurement results have been confronted to electromagnetic simulations. In order to study various cases involving randomly positioned tags, an electromagnetic model and simulation tools (HFSS and NEC) have been used and the conclusions are based on their results while cross-validated in a few cases by measurements. To simplify any further, the RFID tags are modelled by a set of half-wave dipoles, with and without T-match, and the reader is replaced by a plane wave. The objective is to confront the behaviour of a single isolated tag to that of the same tag while surrounded by other tags and to conclude on the impact of the antenna type, the density of tags, the terminating load and the wave polarisation on the output under observation. The RFID link is studied through its forward and reverse links and by using a conventional grid model for tags including coupling. A thorough power budget analysis is conducted and the absorbed power at the level of the loads (chips) and the reradiated power at the level of the antennas are assessed. Regarding the forward link, the ratio of the absorbed power by the chip of a surrounded tag to that of an isolated tag is called normalised absorbed power and constitutes a useful tool to estimate the percentage of inactivated tags in the set. Regarding the reverse link, the Radar Cross Section (RCS) of loaded antennas with short-circuit and matched loads have been studied. The differential RCS of the isolated tag and that of the surrounded one has also been evaluated and the impact of coupling on the backscattered power have been studied. As in a high-density random context, predicting the system performances in a realistic way with a deterministic approach is impossible, several configurations of randomly positioned and oriented tags and dipoles have been simulated and the conclusions are drawn using statistical analysis. In other words, at the end of this study, the performance degradation of a particular tag in a given configuration of surrounding tags needs to be evaluated individually but the statistical moments as well as cumulative distribution functions allow to predict the behaviour of a population tags under given conditions. This thesis helps the RFID designer to assess the performance of an RFID scenario and eventually adjust some input parameters such as the density of tags in order to attain the desired objectives

Abstract:
Some studies in literature show the involvement of phonological knowledge in printed words processing. The goal of this work is to contribute to describe the nature of the code involved in printed word recognition, and to understand the mechanisms of phonological knowledge involvement in reading. We firstly want to show that the early steps of printed words recognition involve a phonological code described in terms of phonological features, by showing that skilled readers are sensitive to infra-phonemic elements and that a hierarchical organisation of these features could exist. Otherwise, this work aims to provide clues in favour of the existence of phonological impairments in dyslexic children, to define some deficits of their infra-phonemic organisation, and to show that these deficits could be different according to the type of developmental dyslexia. On the one hand, we present the theory and the experimental studies in cognitive psychology and in psycholinguistics that lead us to some questions. On the other hand, the presentation of studies in linguistics and in neuropsychology provide clues in favour of our hypothesis. In the theorical part, we present a reading model that involve two reading mechanisms based on phonological features, and our hypothesis allow us to test this model. Our experimental word is developped in several steps to provide behavior data that lead us to discuss our hypothesis about adult skilled readers, normal reading children, and dyslexic chilmdren

Abstract:
Reading has long been assimilated with the understanding phase in the translation process and has only recently aroused interest among translation scientists. A slowly emerging differentiation in the implementation of the process, whether oral or written, accounts for their both theoretical and systematic interest. The description of the translation process as applied to pragmatic texts from German into French purports that reading is a multi-stage, multi-facetted and multi-goal activity all along the translation process. Results and questions pertaining to cognitive models of reading are taken into account to carry out the description. Far from being limited to understanding, reading appears as an intellectual technique, a mental tool allowing the translator to go through the text to be translated and peruse it, to gain and link knowledge necessary to his/her practice and give a critical evaluation of the translated text in the final stage of the process, before handing it out to other readers in the reading chain. .

Abstract:
All literary works are given a particular form – space – by the movement of their author’s mind. The unified or divided form built by the novelistic body of work bears witness to the intentions and intuitions of the author. By seeking to identify the limits of the celinian novelistic space, we aim at understanding what motivates the act of writing and, through a reading of the novels of Louis-Ferdinand Céline, try to conceptualize what could come to be used as a tool of critical analysis: the “novelistic space”

Abstract:
What positioning does the Balzacian text attribute to its reader? At the crossroads between Wolfgang Iser and Umberto Eco's theories on reading, pragmatic approaches, and research on Balzac's poetics, we analyze the mechanisms created by Balzac to " build " his reader and encourage support and attention to the novel. Thus, we attempt to determine the role and freedom provided to the reader in La Comédie humaine. At the outset, we study the reader's positioning in prefaces and novels by focusing on poetic, narratologic and pragmatic approaches. We progressively cover a vast array of techniques used by Balzac, ranging from interpreting the basic " guardianship " of the reader to the unveiling of devices that make him the interpretative focal point required for the fictional efficiency. Besides, we examine the reading contracts established in Balzac's prefaces, as well as the evolution of the strategies implemented by the author to establish contact with his audience. Leaving the heart of the novels, we then concentrate on the architecture of La Comédie humaine. Our analysis, based on reception aesthetics, studies why 19th century readers experience difficulties in understanding Balzac's off-putting " macro-work ", and examines the effects created by the possible variations of its structure. Finally, we emphasize on the dynamism and movement inherent to the architecture of La Comédie humaine, by focusing on the novel and reader's navigation in Balzac's system. We examine, with a genetic perspective, the movement of certain novels in the ranking, as well as the various paths available to the reader to travel through La Comédie humaine

Abstract:
This thesis aims at clarifying, through a psychoanalytic reading of an exem, plary literary work, here alain robbe-grillet's le voyeur, the status of the writer's unconscious in his writing and that of the reader's unconscious in his reading. It is made up of two parts: +writing strategies; and +reading effects;. The first part begins with a historical study of the progressive criticism which developed around robbe-grillet, in particular about le voyeur, we wish to stress in his writing an unconscious dimension readers don't expect in it. In order to confirm the importance of the unconscious factor in the forming of his literary originality, we have examined some polemic passages he collected in pour un nouveau roman, and which he revived later in le miroir qui revient. By following the double stream of his thoughts, prospective and retrospective, we have brought out the unconscious motives which led him to reject +metaphorical writing; and to create a fantastic surface making a flat and even imaginary screen, in order to transpose the very way in which he senses the movements of his inner world. From this point of view, we oppose the attitude that one can read the writer's unconscious through his artistic work. In the second part, we have resorted to the textanalytic method devised by jean bellemin-noel, to suggest an interpretation of le voyeur. We concentrated on the aspects which reflect the writing strategies drawn up by the writer and theorized by critics: a highly detailed description and a hollowed out texture. Finally, the imaginary construction which emerges from our reading is not entirely superimposed on the structure (whatever it is) of the writer's unconscious: the subject of this imaginary world turns out to be +the unconscious of the text;, as the empty and irrepresentable nucleus of it

Abstract:
Wolfhart pannenberg criticizes karl barth for his method of trinitarian theology, which sets up a divine subject prior to his triple differenciation, in such a way that the son and the spirit are ‘one-sidely’ dependent on the father, and he chooses another method, one that emphasizes a triple ‘reciprocal’ dependence disclosed in the revelation, and asserts god’s oneness eschatologically together with the identity of the economic and the immanent trinity. Going back to thomas aquinas, our study formulates two models which take into account both ‘reciprocity’ and ‘asymmetry’ for the divine relation. The trinitarian theologies of pannenberg and barth are analysed as applications of these models, whereas barth’s discussion is reconsidered with the help of maurice merleau-ponty. The results of both models are verified with respect to the christ who ‘takes our place on the cross’, barthian theology being then further developed with michel de certeau’s idea of ‘making place for the other’

Abstract:
In higher education the more and more common teaching method “inverting classroom” comprises of 2 phases: the self-study phase prior to the course and second the in-class or online sessions where discussions take place and students work on projects, extended hands-on lectures or exercises in class. First year mechanical engineering students are offered different teaching materials (mainly lecture videos, lightboard videos and micro-module lectures) to study from a distance and comprehend the principle underlying science in theory. Presence or online plenary lectures offer the opportunity to apply knowledge and transfer different scientific aspects of the course to get the bigger picture. However, there are always students unprepared causing huge diversity, irritating the lecturer and classmates and therefore threatening to imperil the desired learning outcome. This paper offers different practical experiences with no, little and sufficient success from 10 years of experience with teaching inverted.

Abstract:
"Flexible learning has been associated with e-learning, even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Flexible learning gives the students large degrees of freedom to learn what, when, how and where they want. The aim of this study was to evaluate students’ preferences in e-learning and traditional classroom teaching, and was conducted from October 2019 to January 2020. Students from four courses were assigned randomly to two groups, an online and a classroom group. The study included two phases: three lectures by the lecturer (podcasts vs. classroom) and seven classroom units with student presentations and discussions. Performance and different personal characteristics and attitudes of 93 students were examined. Knowledge on the course topic was measured before the first lecture took place (t1), after the three lectures (t2) and after the following seven units (t3). Statistical analyses found no performance differences between the two groups (online/classroom); this held true for all three points in time. All students appreciated the opportunity of an intermediate exam at t2 (a change in comparison to former courses on the topic). Qualitative data showed that students felt a need for interaction with their colleagues and the lecturer, which they decided could be better fulfilled in the classroom, whereas the flexible learning setting had advantages for the exam preparation (e.g. repeating listening to the podcasts, taking breaks and learning tempo). Students’ arguments fit well to previous literature. Altogether, the study gives valuable insights into the didactic design of flexible learning."

Abstract:
Diversity among engineering students is growing more and more acknowledgeable in higher education – especially in first year classes where in applied universities students from many backgrounds form new classes. Differences in education (high school, job training, dual careers, etc.) are as common as various social aspects (family duties, etc.) that delay full time studying. This challenges students as well as lecturers especially in the covid-19 pandemic of 2020/2021. A standard based portfolio grading enables students to participate and place different skills in their cumulative assessment. The online course structure using Moodle as content management system (CMS) is based on inverted classroom teaching scenarios. These are supported by peer-to-peer lecture films and micro-lectures along with various online teaching materials and online meeting sessions. The portfolio cumulatively grades lectures, presentations, forum discussions, written homework and glossary entries. Although benefits of present classes are obvious the course results improved over previous semester especially for students with language difficulties. This paper reflects on the possibility to meet diversity in the covid-19 pandemic and enable first year mechanical engineering students to grow more homogeneous regarding scholarly work.

Abstract:
The anisotropic plane elasticity solution of the stresses throughout a thin, rectangular, laminated composite plate subjected to self-equilibrating cubically distributed shear stress at the two ends of the plate is obtained. The plate is assumed to be a symmetric laminate and hygrothermal effects are not considered. The characteristic decay length under the shear loading is estimated for different cases of isotropic, orthotropic, and anisotropic plate. The work is intended to be presented as an example during a lecture or to be published in new textbook demonstrating the numerical method.

Abstract:
A web-based self-paced university physics course, called the Virtual Physics Lab (VPL) is described. The VPL delivers both the lecture and lab components of a physics course using interactive virtual-reality simulations, high-end multimedia lectures and 2D/3D mini-games/exercises. The VPL’s interactive simulations are delivered in a video-game-like 3D photo-realistic virtual environment using real-time models to simulate typical physics experiments performed in the lab part of the physics course such as: frictional motion of a block on an inclined plane, vibrations of a mass-spring system and impact of particles. Students can change in real-time the parameters of the experiments and observe the effect on the experiment’s response and measurements. The multimedia lectures are delivered using a multimodal combination of speech and highlighted text delivered by near-photorealistic intelligent animated lip and gesture synched virtual tutors. The multimedia lectures include synchronized interactive 2D/3D animated illustrations and movies. A search engine and a hierarchical expert system allow the virtual tutors to answer natural-language questions and execute natural-language commands given by the student. Exercises in the form of mini-games that use relevant physics principles are used to increase the students’ interest in the material being taught and to test the student’s comprehension. The VPL’s interactivity and visually stimulating instruction will result in faster assimilation, deeper understanding, and higher memory retention by the students than traditional classroom/text-book instruction.

Abstract:
The prevalence of student response systems (hereafter SRS) in higher education has grown significantly in the last few years. Student classroom participation and student’s assessment of performance particularly in larger classes, has often been regarded as problematic in pedagogical research (Black and Wiliam, 1998; Fies and Marshall, 2006). Growth in technology, coupled with popularity of handheld devices has led to the development in SRS with the intention of increasing classroom participation and engaging students in the lecture setting (Denker, 2013). Studies identify benefits to students participating in the classroom using SRS including increased student involvement, attendance, learning and engagement (Heaslip et al., 2014; Van Daele et al., 2017). This research seeks to examine the effects of a SRS on student participation and engagement in large undergraduate economics modules at both an Irish and UK university during the academic year of 2018/19. We compare a control period (no SRS in place) with a trial period (SRS in place). The results show that the use of the SRS significantly increased student’s interaction with the lecturer and their ability to perform self-assessment in absolute terms and relative to their peers.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the contribution of acad. Silviu Berejan to the development of lexicology and semasiology, which, examining the lexical-semantic system of the language, identified the existence, between two or more vocabulary units, of some lexical-semantic relations in the plane of expression - of homolexia, paralexia and heterolexia and in the plane of the content - of homosemy, parasemy and heterosemy, and we managed to identify a new relationship - of parasemolexia, i.e. the simultaneous existence of a lexical-semantic relationship between the level of expression and that of content.

Com-poser Claudio Monteverdi was one of the most important figures in the music of the early Italian Baroque. Abstract:

Abstract:
This case study traces the journey of Youth for Unity and Voluntary Action (YUVA), an NGO which was co-founded in Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay) in 1984 by a young graduate Minar Pimple along with a group of his lecturers and peers from the Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work, together looking to evolve an indigenous model of social work practice. To say that times have changed in India since YUVA’s inception 38 years ago would be an understatement. Despite this, the organization’s spirit continues to echo its founding purpose and values, and provide a space in which the most marginalised of young and like-minded people can come together, understand their rights and responsibilities as citizens, and work together towards shared ideals. Even today, the majority of the people who work with YUVA (meaning “youth”) come from marginalised backgrounds. Such talent composition is not the norm, even in civil society. Seeded with feminist ideals—in particular that of nurturing a careful and life-long sensitivity for the socio-politically marginalised, and standing by them in their strive for social justice—YUVA’s historical record is a statement of how a steadfast commitment to principles can eventually find home in a settled and satisfying practice. This case study lays out both what that historical record speaks and what it speaks between the lines. What the record directly speaks of is the radical milieu in which YUVA came into being, how it became a significant civil society presence in its own right, how it multiplied new initiatives, and how it underwent a difficult leadership transition and financial stresses, yet strived hard to remain relevant. Between the lines, the record hints at how an alert, attuned and active academic milieu constitutes a real treasure—a reminder that perhaps seems appropriate for the times; and narrates the story of how a feminist organization deeply committed to social justice operates from the inside, of the people who make it and how they make and remake it. organizations of this nature have an important place in the annals of Indian civil society but have not received a proportionate space within the documented field of organizational development and talent management. This case study provides an opportunity for learners to explore the idea, relevance and practices of a feminist organization, through the travails and triumphs of one of the oldest ones in India.
