Abstract:
The objective of the study was to investigate the effects of a training program with the Pilates Method on muscle fatigue in youth soccer players. Fifteen male soccer players, sub 13-15 category, with a mean age of 13.27 ± 0.45 years, were randomly divided into two groups: Control group (n = 7) and Pilates group (n = 8). In the Pilates group, an additional training protocol was performed with the Pilates Method alone. In both groups, the concentration of cytokines (TNFα, IL-10), the electrical activity of the rectus femoris, rectus abdominis, biceps femoris and gluteus maximus muscles was evaluated and the Side Hop Test was performed. In both groups, there were no significant changes in the cytokine profile and in the electrical activity of the evaluated muscles, but there was a significant difference in the time taken to perform the Side Hop test for the Pilates group. The application of the Pilates method (solo) as an additional training in youth soccer players did not show greater tolerance to muscle fatigue, however it may have generated an improvement in the functional performance of the athletes.

Abstract:
AbstractLow back pain is defined as pain located between the lower rib cage and the gluteal folds, and its etiology is multifactorial, considerably affecting quality of life. The aim of this literature review was to analyze the influence of the Pilates method on the symptoms of patients with nonspecific low back pain, which is considered a promising treatment for this type of pathology. A narrative review of the literature was carried out using the PubMed, Pedro, Scopus and Scielo databases. To perform the search, Pilates AND Low back nonspecific AND Pain were used as keywords. Articles published in the last 5 years, randomized clinical trials that verified the influence of the Pilates method in adult individuals with unspecified low back pain and full text in English were included. Of the 77 articles identified, 7 articles met the inclusion criteria, 7 analyzed the primary outcomes of pain intensity and disability, 5 articles compared Pilates with other rehabilitation techniques and 2 studies compared the effectiveness of Pilates solo with Pilates apparatus. It was concluded that all the techniques that were compared with Pilates are effective, being difficult to affirm the superiority of Pilates over them in relation to the reduction of pain and disability and improvement of quality of life. However, the Pilates method has shown good results in pain perception and intensity, functional capacity, fear of movement and the idea that movement can worsen your condition, muscle strength, range of motion and flexibility.

Abstract:
Pilates has been used extensively by dancers since Joseph H. Pilates first developed his method of training over 60 years ago. With the extent to which Pilates has been incorporated into dancers’ training and conditioning, the question arises as to the scientific basis for this practice. Our two-fold purpose was to critically appraise published research on Pilates training in dancers and propose future research strategies for this method in dancers. An extensive literature search was conducted, using Pilates as the search word. A total of 277 articles were found. Thirty-nine articles and abstracts were published in refereed, professional journals, of which there were 10 clinical trials. Of these clinical trials, only 5 were published with dancers and gymnasts as the population of interest. The strengths of these 5 clinical trials were: 1. the use of Pilates by experienced instructors; 2. well-written hypotheses; and 3. documented need for research in this area. The weaknesses were: 1. lack of true experimental designs; 2. lack of statistical power; and 3. small sample sizes. There is weak support for the effectiveness of Pilates in improving strength and alignment in dancers, primarily due to a lack of sound research methodology surrounding each study. Utilizing control groups, randomizing subjects, calculating statistical power, and using valid and reliable methods to measure outcomes can enhance the scientific basis for Pilates in the dance profession.

Abstract:
Background. Dancesport dancers were investigated aiming at improving their physical qualities, posture, balance, flexibility and endurance. Undoubtedly, the Pilates method is one of the best ways for exercising one’s core muscles and flexibility. However, there is a lack of data in the academic literature concerning the influence of Pilates exercises on dancers’ fitness levels depending on different age groups and ranking. Based on this, the aim of our study was to evaluate the 16-week Pilates exercise effects on 6–10-year-old Dancesport dancers’ physiological responses. Methods. The static deep trunk muscle endurance was tested with pressure measuring device “Stabilizer”, flexibility was assessed using “Sit and Reach” test, static balance – “Flamingo” test and dynamic balance – “Star” excursion test. Research participants were Dancesport dancers (n = 38) who had been practising Pilates (13 girls and 7 boys) and attending a usual dance program (11 girls and 7 boys). Results. After 16 weeks, dancers who had been practicing Pilates method significantly improved static and dynamic deep trunk muscle endurance in all positions, static and dynamic balance and flexibility. The dancers that practiced a usual dance program significantly improved static deep muscle endurance only in the prone position, dynamic in the supine position, but their dynamic balance, static balance and flexibility did not change significantly. Conclusion. Better improvement in 6–10-year-old Dancesport dancers of deep trunk muscle endurance, balance and flexibility was found after 16 weeks of Pilates exercises compared to dancers who practised a usual dance program.

Abstract:
Exercise plays an important role in rehabilitating people with chronic low back pain. Aerobic exercise and resistance training are general exercise strategies to manage chronic low back pain, but these strategies require longer intervention period to achieve clinical outcomes in pain reduction and functional improvements. Directional preference is recognised as an important exercise strategy in managing low back pain. The Clinical Pilates exercise method leverages on the directional preference of an individual to achieve clinical outcomes faster. Clinical Pilates is a hybrid of two of the best exercise interventions for low back pain, which are general Pilates and the McKenzie method. Due to the scarcity of Clinical Pilates literature, a review of its theory and studies was undertaken to provide a structured guide to the technique in managing people with chronic low back pain. Hypothetical algorithms are developed to support translation into clinical practice and future research studies. These algorithms are useful in the management of complex cases involving multiple directional trauma. Although limited, current evidence suggests that the Clinical Pilates exercise method is safe and provides faster functional recovery in the early stage of rehabilitation and similar longer term outcomes as general exercises.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction: Pilates is considered a form of exercise that aims to improve flexibility, resistance, strength, balance and coordination. As a result, many elderly people have tried the method seeking to improve or maintain their health. Objective: The present study aimed to review the effects of Pilates on the elderly. Methods: An integrative review was carried out that studied elderly persons undergoing an intervention based on the Pilates method, combined or not with other techniques. The guiding question considered existing studies in literature that evaluated the effects of Pilates on the elderly. Searches of the MEDLINE (PubMed), Scopus and Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) electronic databases were conducted in May 2014. Results: Of a total of 445 studies found, 17 articles were included. Several variables were analyzed, with balance and the risk of falling described most frequently. Conclusions: The most studied variables were balance and the risk of falling and there was consensus among the studies regarding the improvement that Pilates caused in these variables. There was also agreement about increased flexibility, but controversy continues to surround the other effects reported in literature, or the data is isolated and therefore inconclusive. Among the studies found, most were experimental, and there were only two randomized controlled trials. The performance of more clinical trials featuring high quality methodological approaches addressing the theme is recommended, so that systematic reviews with meta-analysis may be performed, ensuring greater reliability of the results suggested in this study.

Abstract:
Background: Hypertension, affecting 1.28 billion people globally, remains a significant challenge. While diverse treatment options exist, including medications and lifestyle modifications, achieving consistent adherence, particularly among sedentary individuals, presents a significant hurdle. Limited adherence to traditional exercise regimens necessitates exploring alternative approaches, one of which being Pilates, an indoor isometric exercise program. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate Pilates efficacy for lowering blood pressure (BP) in hypertensive patients. Method: A systematic literature search was conducted on PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, and DOAJ in January 2024 according to PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Original studies on Pilates in hypertensive patients, presenting systolic BP (SBP) and diastolic BP (DBP) as their primary outcomes, were selected for analysis. Heart rate (HR) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) were stated as secondary outcomes. Meta-analysis was performed using R software 4.3.1 using a random-effect model. Result: Out of 387 preliminary studies, a systematic literature search identified 7 eligible studies involving 227 participants. Overall, Pilates was found to significantly reduce both SBP (SMD=−2.10 mmHg [95% CI: −4.14 to −0.05, p=0.046]; I2=94.2%, p<0.01) and DBP (SMD=−2.25 mmHg [95% CI: −3.82 to −0.67, p=0.012]; I2=93.7%, p<0.01). Subgroup analysis revealed that despite differences in study design (RCT vs. crossover trials) and duration of intervention (8, 12, and 16 weeks), no significant differences were found. Conclusion: In conclusion, Pilates significantly reduced SBP and DBP, suggesting its potential as a non-pharmacological adjunctive treatment for hypertension. However, larger and longer-term studies are needed to confirm the long-term efficacy and safety of Pilates for managing hypertension.

Abstract:
The gestational period is characterized by several changes in the female body, which come from mechanical and/or hormonal activities. A number of changes take place with the main objective of maintaining and facilitating the healthy development of the fetus. Low back pain is one of the main musculoskeletal complaints referred to during pregnancy, and it is estimated that more than 50% of pregnant women are affected by low back pain, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy. Physiotherapy, through kinesiotherapy and the Pilates method, enables the treatment of gestational low back pain, as well as the prevention of this disorder. Thus, the general objective of the research is to investigate the benefits of the Pilates method and kinesiotherapy in pregnant women with low back pain. Therefore, the specific objectives are to know the biomechanical changes of the gestational period, to understand the most common pathological changes that occur in the pregnancy period, to understand the so-called gestational low back pain, to know about the importance of physiotherapy in the care of pregnant women and to learn about the Pilates method and kinesiotherapy applied in this phase of female life. It is, therefore, an integrative review of the literature of a qualitative nature, and, for its preparation, the following descriptors were used: "Pregnant women", "Lumbar pain", "Pilates method", "Exercise therapy" in Portuguese , English and Spanish. The work was produced in the year 2022, between the months of March and May. The years 2012 to 2022 were established as a delimitation, with emphasis and preference being given to research from the last 5 years. The databases consulted were: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), PEDRo and the Virtual Health Library (BVS). The main finding of this research was the evidence that the Pilates method is extremely superior to the non-treatment used by the control groups of randomized clinical trials for the treatment of gestational musculoskeletal pain. The Pilates method was also beneficial for controlling the progression of diastasis, increasing mobility, functionality and functional capacity, increasing strength and resistance of the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. It was also evidenced that the regular practice of physical exercises is recommended for pregnant women, being the moderate intensity, the duration of 150 minutes per week distributed in the frequency of 3 days a week, in sessions that vary between 30 and 60 minutes. Furthermore, it is concluded that kinesiotherapy and the Pilates method have been applied for the treatment and prevention of gestational low back pain. Both are necessary for the improvement of physical conditioning, sleep improvement, pain relief and musculoskeletal discomfort caused by the gestational process.

Abstract:
A physical education program based on Pilates was developed for students of a special medical group and a monitoring system was proposed. The purpose of the study: to develop a program of physical education classes and a monitoring system for students of a special medical group based on Pilates. Research methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical experiment, functional diagnostics, surveys, methods of mathematical statistics. The pedagogical experiment was organized with students of the 1st year of the special medical group, within the discipline "Physical Culture" (2021–2022). In total, 200 people took part in the study, of which 160 were girls and 40 were boys. During one year, students practiced 2 times a week using the Pilates technique, and underwent a monitoring study on the EsteksystemComplex hardware technique. The results. According to the results of the questionnaire, we found out that students of the special medical group know a sufficient number of fitness programs and have the necessary information about them. So, the first place is traditionally health aerobics, which was noted by 74% of respondents, the second place is fitness yoga (63%), the third place is water aerobics (59%). According to the results of the functional status of the students of the special medical group, it was possible to note that some of the indicators were at a low level and some corresponded to the norm. Conclusions. According to the results of the pedagogical experiment, the 1st-year students of the special medical group significantly improved their performance in static Pilates exercises, in exercises for joint flexibility and mobility, in the technique of performing a complex of exercises, and positive dynamics of the fat component of the body and heart rate were also revealed. Therefore, the integral assessment according to the EsteksystemComplex method corresponds to the parameters of the norm - 88-89 points (maximum 100 points), which allows us to conclude that students have a good level of physical condition, but a low level of response to physical exertion, low indicators of VL, as well as elevated values heart rate The Pilates method is the most optimal for the physical education of students of a special medical group in the 1st year of their studies at a university.

Abstract:
Motivational profile of the Pilates method practitioners in Barueri – SP. The Pilates method is based on contrology, which consists a program of physical and mental conditioning with strength exercises, flexibility and muscular endurance through unique equipment, developed through a “spring system”, and floor exercises. Throughout years, the method has been showing intense massification, establishing different methods with increasingly diverse applications, which can compromise their objectivity. In this way, the present study had as objective to verify if at present the objective of the Pilates practitioners agree with the proposals of the method. Sixty-four subjects, mean age of 43.61±12.66 years, who had been practicing the method for more than three months, were studied at least twice a week in one-hour sessions. All were evaluated through a questionnaire composed of ten questions developed by the authors themselves. It was found that physical fitness was the most desired goal, followed by the search for prevention for musculoskeletal diseases, showing a harmonization between the proposed method and the reasons for their search, regardless of how the method is used. However, half of the interviewees did not know the existence of different approaches between the Classic Method and Modern Method, which corroborates the literature. Practitioners of Pilates while not know differences in methodological approaches, trust and use the method, aware of its purposes, but this is a trend in discrete propensity.

Abstract:
Background: The Pilates exercise has recently become an increasingly popular way of exercise in female patients since it is an attractive and low-cost physical exercise modality. Pilates may be a beneficial method of exercise for female patients with depression and anxiety symptoms. However, to date, there has been no attempt to collate this literature. This review aims to systematically assess and meta-analyze the efficacy of Pilates exercise for female patients with depression and anxiety symptoms and inform evidence-based guidelines for exercise prescription. Methods: Five electronic databases (Scopus, MEDLINE/PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library) were systematically searched up to January 2023 to examine randomized controlled trials (RCTs) focused on the effects of Pilates exercise for female patients with depressive disorders and individuals with elevated levels of depression were included. The primary outcomes were the severity of depression, and the secondary outcomes were anxiety. Statistical analyses were performed using Stata version 15.1 software with a 95% confidence interval (Registration number: CRD42023426522), and the PEDRO Scale was used to evaluate the risk of bias for RCT. Results: 18 RCTs with 827 female patients were included. The methodological quality of the RCTs was considered an A level in 4 studies, B level in 13, studies, and C level in 1 study investigation. The meta-analysis showed that there was moderate evidence for the Pilates exercise significantly improved the severity of depression symptoms (SMD = –0.73; 95% CI –0.86 to –0.59; P < .01) and anxiety symptoms (SMD = –0.62; 95% CI –0.79 to –0.46; P < .01). Conclusions: Pilates exercise could reduce levels of depression and anxiety in female patients with depression and anxiety symptoms. Pilates exercise can be used as a potential ancillary program to improve depression and anxiety symptoms for female patients.

Abstract:
Neurologia. Reabilitação Neurológica. Abstract Neurological diseases are those that affect the central or peripheral nervous system, causing the affected individual, deficits in body structure and function, activity and social participation. Currently, several types of therapy have been used for the rehabilitation of these individuals, and Pilates Method (MP) is one of them. The objective of this study was to review the literature regarding the use of MP in adult neurofunctional rehabilitation. As for the methodology, the present research was performed using the electronic databases PEDro, LILACS and MedLine, using the terms "pilates" and "neurology" as keywords. As a result, 10 studies were selected, totaling 386 subjects participating in the studies included in this review. 153 belonged to the experimental groups that received MP as intervention, 80 were present in groups that received other interventions and 154 to control groups. Considering the repeated variables (analyzed by more than one study), 61 outcome measures were performed and 60.66% (37) of them obtained significant statistical improvement after intervention with the MP. Thus, it is concluded that MP is presented as another alternative for the rehabilitation of deficits of body structure and function, activity and individuals’ participation with neurological impairment. Benefits on muscle strength, gait parameters, range, balance, mobility, and daily life activities were verified in this literature review. Keywords: Pilates Method. Neurology. Abstract:
Nowadays, the number of people complaining of back pain is increasing, but this pain is associated with scoliosis. However, scoliosis can be defined as the spine curving sideways, forming an "S" or "C" shape. However, there are several types of scoliosis: congenital, idiopathic, neuromuscular and degenerative. The most common is idiopathic scoliosis, which mostly affects children and adolescents, while congenital scoliosis is present at birth due to malformation of the spine. Neuromuscular scoliosis, on the other hand, affects the individual's neurological or muscular condition, followed by degenerative scoliosis, which develops in adulthood or the elderly and is caused by wear and tear on the spine. The aim of this study is to understand the forms of physiotherapy treatments applied to scoliosis. Subsequently, the physiotherapeutic treatments for this pathology include techniques such as RPG (Global Postural Reeducation), Pilates and waistcoats. RPG is a method that seeks to re-educate posture through stretching and muscle strengthening, while Pilates focuses on strengthening and improving flexibility. In addition, the back brace is used to align the spine during treatment. These treatments are aimed at a wide range of people, from children to teenagers, adults and the elderly, depending on the type and severity of the scoliosis. The benefits include improved posture, pain reduction and muscle strengthening. In conclusion, the results of physiotherapy treatment for scoliosis can vary from person to person, but many patients report a significant improvement in their quality of life, a reduction in the progression of the curvature and pain relief. Finally, treatment should be personalised and monitored by qualified professionals.

Abstract:
Background:Fibromyalgia (FM) is a systemic rheumatic disease characterized by diffuse pain in the body, tenderness, fatigue and many more symptoms. Exercise is effective and safe method in individuals with FM. Connective tissue massage, another treatment method, is a reflex therapy where shear force is applied in a certain order at the connective tissue interfaces of the skin. In the literature, there is limited study releted compared with clinical pilates exercises and connective tissue massage in individuals with FM.Objectives:The aim of the study was to examine the effectiveness of clinical pilates exercises and connective tissue massage in Individuals with Fibromyalgia on disease activity, number of painful regions, anxiety, biopsychosocial status and quality of life.Methods:32 women (age mean=52.43±8.32) diagnosed with FM according to American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria were included in this study. Participants were randomly divided into two groups as interventional group (n=15, mean age=48.80±7.48) and control group (n=17, mean age=55.64±7.87). While the connective tissue massage and clinical pilates exercises were applied to the treatment group, only clinical pilates exercises were applied to the control group. After the demographic characteristics and disease related data of the individuals were recorded; number of painful regions were assessed with Pain Location Inventory (PLI), disease impact with Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnare (FIQ), functional status with Health Assessment Questionnare (HAQ), anxiety with Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), quality of life with Short Form-36 (SF-36) and biopsychosocial status with Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach (BETY) Scale were evaluated. All evaluations were made before and after treatment. All interventions were applied 3 days per week for 6 weeks by the same experienced physical therapist. One session for clinical pilates exercises consisted of 60 minutes (10 minutes warm up, 40 minutes clinical pilates exercises, 10 minutes cool-down). Connective tissue massage was started from lumbosacral region and continued lower thoracic, scapular, interscapular, and cervical regions, respectively. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test was used to determine whether the continuous variables were normal distributions. Results:When the pre-treatment and post-treatment results are analyzed; the results were significant in the intervention group of PLI (p = 0.007), SF 36 physical component (p = 0.025) and mental component (p = 0.017) and FIQ (p = 0.004), while in the control group the difference in SF 36 physical component (p = 0.008) and mental component (p = 0.024), FIQ (p = 0.001) and BAI (p = 0.043) was significant. Delta values were calculated by subtracting post-treatment results from pre-treatment results. When the delta values of the groups are compared, it was determined that the difference only in the PLI (p = 0.023) were significant in favor of the treatment group. Conclusion:According to our results, connective tissue massage has been shown to be effective in reducing the number of painful areas in addition to the positive effects of clinical pilates exercises in individuals with FM. In order to increase the effectiveness of treatment in individuals with FM, we recommend the use of connective tissue massage as an additional treatment method.References:[1]Busch, Angela J., et al. Abstract:
ABSTRACT Introduction: Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a benign vasculartumor. It is commonly found in teen age males. Its site of origin is sphenopalatine foramen. Exact pathogenesis of angiofibroma is not known. It has predictable natural history and growth pattern. This tumor most often involves nasopharynx, nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, pterygopalatine fossa and infratemporal fossa. It can also involve orbit and can spread intracranially. Its very important to diagnose this tumor very early on the basis of clinical examination and imaging. As early tumor confined to nose and sinuses can be removed exclusively with endoscope. It is very helpful to do angiography before surgery to ascertain itsblood supply and then embolization can be done to reduce intraoperative bleeding. Objective: To describe our experience of Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma cases in ENT Unit-I of Lahore General Hospital. Study Design: Descriptive Study with retrospective analysis after approval from Institutional Review Board (IRB) of LGH/PGMI/AMC Lahore. Methods: We studied 20 patients who underwent surgery in our department from October 2019 to October 2020. We analyzed following factors: age, gender, symptoms, staging, mode of surgery and need for intraoperative blood transfusion, hospital stay, complications and recurrences. Results: Range of patient’s age was 12 to 25 years. Eight patients underwent surgery with endoscope. Mean blood loss was about 400 ml and mean operating time was 140 minutes. All the cases were embolized preoperatively. Conclusion: Endoscopic surgery is a safe and effective method in early stage JNA patients. While patients with advance stage tumors should be managed with combined endoscopic and conventional open approaches. KEYWORDS: juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, JNA, endoscopic surgery

Abstract:
Recent research has investigated the effects of the Pilates Method (PM) for individuals affected by post-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS-19). However, to date, no review has compiled such findings. In this sense, this study sought to review the effects of the PM on PCS-19. This is a systematic review and meta-analysis carried out by peers in the PubMed/MEDLINE, PEDro, SciELO, LILACS, Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect and Cochrane Library databases, in addition to research on Google Scholar and the CAPES repository. Studies published until September 2023 included only randomized clinical trials, with patients diagnosed with PCS-19, and which included PM-based exercises. The meta-analysis was performed using Review Manager software version 5.4 (Cochrane Collaboration) with a random effects model. Of the 1510 references initially found, only three met the selection criteria, covering a total of 113 patients with PCS-19. The meta-analysis indicated that PM was effective in improving quality of life in PCS-19, but not in lung function parameters. Other favorable secondary outcomes were also reported, such as improvement in thoracic excursion, functional capacity, biochemical parameters and pain intensity. However, this must be considered with caution due to the high heterogeneity and low methodological quality of the included studies. In short, the PM promotes benefits in physical health and quality of life in PCS-19. However, these results should be interpreted with extreme caution due to the limited literature on the subject, variability in outcome measures, and lack of important methodological details.

Abstract:
Postpartum fatigue is a common and natural phenomenon that often affects mothers after giving birth. This phenomenon occurs immediately after delivery and reaches the highest level of fatigue in the first 24 hours, so non-pharmacological nursing interventions are very effective when focused from the beginning of the postpartum period to reduce the level of postpartum fatigue. This literature aims to determine effective nursing interventions used to reduce postpartum maternal fatigue. The method used in this literature review begins with determining the topic, then determining keywords to search for journals. Scopus, ScienceDirect and PubMed are the databases used, searching for journals from 2010 to 2018 consisting of several research articles. The results of the synthesis of articles that have been explored show that nursing interventions with non-pharmacological methods can be applied to reduce fatigue in postpartum mothers, this is because non-pharmacological methods are easier, cheaper, acceptable to patients, non-invasive and without side effects. An effective nursing intervention to reduce postpartum fatigue is to choose one of the methods including slow stroke back massage, meridian acupressure and pilates exercises.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to analyze research trends of juvenile offenders in Korea, and to provide future tasks and directions. In order to achieve this, the study analyzed 434 articles and dissertations, classifying them into year, research topic, and research method. The results of the research trends are as follows. First, in the case of yearly trends, there was an increase or decrease from year to year, but generally did not show a large change. However, when a social incident related to juvenile offenders occurred and was highlighted in the media, the number of research increased. Second, the number of the most research subject was 'laws and institutions', and the least research subject was 'facility'. In the future, research on juvenile offenders needs to be research widely with various subjects. Third, the most used research method is the literature research method. This seems to be due to research ethics and ease of access. This study is meaningful in that it systematically analyzed research related to juvenile offenders and suggested future research directions. If research on juvenile offenders is conducted more diversely and widely in the future, it will be of great help in making policies and systems related to juvenile offenders.

Abstract:
The literature review presents current data on the frequency, mechanisms of development, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of renal AA-amyloidosis and describes different forms of glomerulonephritis (GN) in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). The frequency of AA renal amyloidosis in JIA in children ranges from 0.8% to 2%, in adults with JIA duration of 28.3 years - 8.9%. In recent years, against the background of immunobiological therapy, the incidence of AA-amyloidosis of the kidneys in adults has decreased to 2%. AA-amyloidosis of the kidneys most often develops in children with the systemic form, in adults - with systemic and polyarticular forms of JIA. The first symptom of AA-amyloidosis of the kidneys is isolated proteinuria, which transforms into nephrotic syndrome. The peculiarity of the nephrotic syndrome is the absence of hypercholesterolemia in most cases, combined in some patients with arterial hypertension, hematuria, and impaired renal function. The available literature presents clinical cases of renal GN in children with JIA, viz: ANCA-associated GN, mesangioproliferative GN, including IgA- and IgM-nephropathy, membranous nephropathy, focal-segmental glomerulosclerosis, minimal change disease, extracapillary GN. Most publications are devoted to ANCA-associated HN, which developed in patients with a torpid course and a high degree of activity of polyarticular and systemic forms of JIA. The peculiarity of ANCA-associated HN was the presence of hypercreatininemia and, in almost half of cases, the development of terminal renal failure, despite the ongoing immunosuppressive therapy. The main method confirming the diagnosis of AA-amyloidosis and renal HN is the intravital renal morphological study. The use of immunobiological drugs in renal AA-amyloidosis and HN in children with JIA has therapeutic efficacy.

Abstract:
Background: Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-a) is a proinflammatory cytokine that plays an immunomodulatory role in a variety of systemic and dermatologic diseases. Currently, three anti-TNF-a drugs are available in North America— infliximab (approved in the U.S. for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ankylosing spondylitis, ulcerative colitis, and psoriatic arthritis), etanercept (approved in the U.S. for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriasis), and adalimumab (approved for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis). Objective: To review the current literature supporting alternative (and currently off-label) dermatologic uses of TNF-a antagonists. Methods: A MEDLINE search (1966-March 2005) was conducted using the keywords “infliximab,” “etanercept,” “adalimumab,” “TNF inhibitors,” and “off-label” to identify published reports of off-label dermatologic uses of TNF-a inhibitors. Results: Anti-TNF-a therapies have been reported in the following dermatologic diseases: sarcoidosis, hidradenitis suppuritiva, cicatricial pemphigoid, Behçet's disease, pyoderma gangrenosum, multicentric reticulohistiocytosis, apthous stomatitis, Sneddon-Wilkinson disease, SAPHO syndrome, pityriasis rubra pilaris, eosinophilic fasciitis, Panniculitis, Crohn's disease, necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum, dermatomyositis, and scleroderma. The vast majority of these reports are in the form of individual case reports and small case series. Only two published randomized controlled trials involving the off-label use of a TNF inhibitor were found. Conclusions: A growing number of published reports suggest that anti-TNF-a therapies may be effective in the treatment of numerous inflammatory skin diseases outside their currently approved indications.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT. Leg circles on Cadillac: effect of different spring positions on the activation of stabilizers in the trunk. Background: The correct activation of the trunk stabilizing muscles is essential in several situations, including prevention and treatment of low back pain. Proper activation of these muscles is a principle of the Pilates Method, but not all the effects of exercise variations are described in the literature. Objective: compare the electric activity of power house muscles (rectus abdominis, external oblique, internal oblique/transverse abdominal and multifidus) during the execution of the Leg Circles exercise with high spring and low spring in Cadillac apparatus. Methods: Ten Pilates instructors were selected, with 30 years (±5), 58 kg (±7), 163 cm (±7) who underwent maximum voluntary isometric contraction tests before the execution of the Leg Circles on the Cadillac, with high and low spring. The electrical activity of the rectus abdominis, internal oblique/transverso abdominal, external oblique and multifidus muscles was collected. Results: The internal oblique (p=0,002) and the multifidus (p=0,042) activations were greater on the high spring. However, the external oblique showed a higher activation on the lower spring (p = 0.001). The abdominal rectus did not change its activation = 0.375). Conclusion: The high spring can be considered as the most suitable position to ac-tivate the deep musculature of the trunk, since the greater activation of the multifidus and of the internal oblique/transverse abdominal, together with the lower activation of the external oblique and the low acti-vation in the rectus abdominus found in the high spring situation.

Abstract:
Mangroves are critical fish and invertebrate habitats, however, identifying to what degree species are affiliated to mangrove systems remains challenging. Here we outline and apply two quantitative methods and one qualitative method for assessing the degree of mangrove affiliation globally at a species level , based on habitat-specific fish and invertebrate species densities extracted from an exhaustive search of the literature , for mangroves and their associated coastal habitats. We assessed all 121 species for which we had ≥7 mangrove records and, where data allowed, quantified the percent contribution of mangroves to the summed species density across all habitats. We set the threshold for identifying a species as "highly mangrove- affiliated" as ≥70% relative density, and examined its validity by subjecting a subset of species either side of the threshold to a thorough review of evidence for mangrove affiliation in the peer-reviewed literature. We found that 53 species were highly mangrove-affiliated, including 24 fish and three invertebrate species from the Atlantic East Pacific (AEP) and nine fish and 15 invertebrate species from the Indo-West Pacific (IWP; two species had global distributions). Thirty- six of the 53 species are of value to artisanal, subsistence, or commercial fisheries (AEP = 21, IWP = 13, Global = 2). While this list of highly mangrove-affiliated species is far from complete due to data limitations, it represents the first attempt to undertake a global overview of highly mangrove- affiliated species, and a proof of concept for a quantitative and objective method of assessment.

Abstract:
In order to improve the basketball theory and provide theoretical and intellectual support for the scientific, mental health, and sustainable development of basketball, we propose to take the development dynamic mechanism of juvenile basketball as the research object and make a systematic and in-depth study on the dynamic mechanism, the cultivation of Chinese and foreign juvenile basketball reserve talents, and the dynamic dilemma and influencing factors of juvenile campus basketball development by using the methods of literature, questionnaire, and expert interview. A method of cultivating the ring tone of juvenile basketball is proposed. This method is based on Chan algorithm. When the target is close to each base station, the first estimation also needs an initial value to solve the initial solution estimation matrix. The method is also based on multivariate Taylor algorithm, taking into account the measured distance between the targets to be measured, so it will get some useful information, which will improve the positioning accuracy. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the algorithm used in this paper is more than 85%. However, the accuracy of rebounding and passing recognition and prediction is low. The recognition accuracy and prediction accuracy of the test set are slightly lower than that of the effective set, which shows that the performance of the target detection system model in this paper can be further improved through more significant training examples. It is proved that the algorithm based on Taylor ring can meet the needs of teenagers in the basketball coordination and mental health.

Abstract:
Children and adolescents are the nation's most important assets, and they must be protected from harmful influences that might lead to juvenile delinquency, which leads to criminal activities, and punishment by the law. In Indonesia, a crime is punished according to the court's ruling. If done to children or teenagers, it can lead to negative stigma and discrimination that can impact their future development. For this reason, other approaches to child-related legal cases, such as restorative justice, must be considered. As a result, this study seeks to assess the impact of restorative justice in Indonesian juvenile courts. The research method used is normative juridical legal research, and the research strategy is legal. Secondary data sources include literature and document investigations. The research concluded that diversion is one of the alternatives for addressing legal issues outside of court, as stated in Law No. 11 of 2012 about the Juvenile Justice System, stressing deliberation among perpetrators, victims, families, and connected parties. Recovery, not vengeance, is the aim.

Abstract:
In today's Alpha era, teenagers often forget their role as the next generation of the Indonesian nation. Adolescence is a transition period from child to adult. This time the cause of Indonesian juvenile delinquency greatly increased. One of the attitudes that adolescents should have is knowledge of the ethical values passed down by their ancestors. Social changes and value shifts have affected the development of adolescents, causing the old culture to be left behind due to the emergence of a new culture in the Alpha era. Bullying is everywhere, physical violence against society is carried out by teenagers, bullying, and so on. One of the consequences of social change that causes juvenile delinquency to increase is the shift, the fall of adolescents into deviant behavior that is not by normal values and rules of society. Conditions like this are likely to spread generation as Juvenile Delinquency degrades mental health. One of the factors of juvenile delinquency that causes mental health to decline when bullying is considered right by some adolescents, is weakened moral degradation and reduced family functions and the role of family, and society in fostering adolescents. When the function of these related parties is weakened, there will be disability of adolescents in acting. The purpose of this research is to examine Juvenile Delinquency or juvenile delinquency which causes a decrease in mental health. The method in this research is a literature study (study research), namely collecting various sources and information that can examine juvenile delinquency that causes a decrease in mental health.

Abstract:
The leading treatment for prostate cancer is radical prostatectomy with variations of access to the affected organ which leads to urinary incontinence in the postoperative period. In order to treat this complication, conservative methods, including a wide range of physical factors, are used. The purpose of the article is to conduct an analytical review of the literature on physical methods of treating urinary incontinence in patients with prostate cancer after radical prostatectomy. Materials. The review included data from the following electronic databases: Scopus, Web of Science, MedLine, Wiley, World Health Organization, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, ScienceDirect, PubMed, eLibrary, CyberLeninka, and disserCat. Results. The research databases include various methods of exercises for the pelvic floor muscles with or without using the method of electromyographic biofeedback, Pilates, general, local, and penile vibratory therapy, transanal, pudendal, and tibial electrical stimulation, electrical stimulation of the pelvic floor muscles and bladder, and extracorporeal magnetic stimulation. Conclusion. It seems impossible to determine the most effective method of rehabilitation due to the large variability of treatment protocols, sample sizes, timing of the start of procedures, techniques, and assessment time points. No study has data on the patients’ catamnesis. Further studies and the search for a drug-free non-invasive method of physical therapy for the rehabilitation of prostate cancer patients who have undergone radical prostatectomy are justified.

Background. Vaccination is the most effective method for reducing morbidity, disability, mortality from of various infections. However, there was a view for a long time that vaccines are ineffective and unsafe to use in people with rheumatological diseases, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Objective. The aim of the study is to analyze literature data on safety and efficacy of vaccination for JIA patients with live and non-live vaccines. Methods: literature analysis was based on data from medical databases PubMed and Google Scholar.Results. Both live and non-live vaccines are safe and immunogenic enough for children with JIA. Most studies confirm vaccination efficacy in patients with JIA when using glucocorticosteroids (GCS) and methotrexate, while therapy with disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARD) can reduce antibody titers over time. In general, antibodies levels preservation in previously vaccinated children with JIA is less than in global population. This indicates the need to administer booster doses for such patients. No adverse effects on the course of primary disease after vaccination and no post-vaccine complications were revealed.Conclusion. Vaccination of patients with JIA should be performed with reference to the therapy that the patient already receives, under the control of antibodies level. Booster doses should be implemented in case of titers decrease below the protective levels.

Abstract:
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) in everyday routine practice is the method of choice for the instrumental diagnosis of glaucoma in adults. As a non-invasive and safe method of visualizing structural changes in the retina and the optic nerve, the method is of particular value in pediatric practice. At the same time, OCT diagnostics in children is associated with certain difficulties, both during the study and when interpreting the scan results. This review summarizes the data from the literature and our own research in the diagnosis and monitoring of congenital and juvenile glaucoma from the standpoint of our own long-term clinical experience in using optical coherence tomography. We consider the physiological changes of the retina and optic nerve, attention is focused on the need to create a pediatric regulatory database of retinal thickness, the factors that determine the normal range of the data obtained and allow distinguishing physiological processes from pathological ones are identified. Clinical cases confirming the value of OCT in combined pathology are presented as examples.

Abstract:
Objective: Recent studies of patients with juvenile bipolar disorder report low rates of recovery and high rates of chronicity. However, we lack data on the short-term outcome. This study examines the pattern of recovery from the index episode in an aggressively treated juvenile sample. Method: We assessed 25 subjects (< 16 years) with a diagnosis of mania, using the Diagnostic Interview for Children and Adolescents-Revised) (DICA-R), Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS), and Children's Global Assessment Scale (CGAS) at intake and at 3 and 6 months. We studied the time taken to recover from the index episode, the level of functioning, and the factors predicting them. Results: After 6 months, 24 (96%) subjects had recovered from the index manic episode. The median time to recovery was 27 days. Total episode length was significantly longer among those with previous affective episodes. Conclusions: The findings suggest that juvenile-onset mania has high rates of recovery and low rates of chronicity. These differences from the existing literature need further exploration.
