Abstract:
The establishment of Shanghai National Conservatory of music in 1927 marked the establishment of piano performance in China. With the development of the motherland, Chinese piano art has grown up all the way, showing unique musical cultural phenomena and Piano cultural highlights closely related to the social environment in different historical stages. The author believes that the development of Chinese piano art is mainly reflected in three aspects: teaching, creation and performance. The pioneers of China's early piano education not only trained the first batch of piano players for the Chinese music world, but also continued their teaching ideas, teaching styles and teaching methods on their students from generation to generation, which has had a positive and far-reaching impact on today's Piano Teaching in China. By sorting out and analyzing the historical development stages of Chinese piano performance teaching theory, the author can observe the current situation of Chinese piano performance teaching with a more critical perspective, thus enlightening us to explore and think about Chinese piano performance teaching in the new era, so as to promote the deeper and broader development of the research on piano performance teaching theory, And try to change the problem that piano performance teaching only stays at the level of language description and experience summary to a certain extent, and seek a development path for the improvement of piano teachers' scientific research ability.

Abstract:
The art of piano playing has been continuously entering into people’s life. However, with the continuous improvement of science and technology and living standards, the traditional teaching mode can no longer meet the piano teaching mode. The teaching of piano is different from traditional subjects, such as Chinese and mathematics. It requires students to experience the artistic characteristics and the live atmosphere of the players brought by the piano. This study integrates video and image teaching methods with piano teaching. Videos and images can more intuitively show the live atmosphere brought by piano players and musical artistic features brought by the piano. At the same time, this study uses the convolutional neural network (CNN) method to study the relevant features of videos and images of piano teaching. These features are mainly the characteristics of piano music, the behavior of players, and the basic knowledge of a piano. The research results show that the clustering method can effectively classify the features of videos and images in piano teaching, and the maximum classification error is only 1.89%. The CNN method also has high performance in predicting the relevant features of piano teaching videos and images. Accuracy. The largest prediction error is only 2.23%, and the linear correlation coefficient also exceeds 0.95. This set of the piano teaching mode that combines videos and images is beneficial to both teachers and students.

Abstract:
Artificial intelligence (AI) development gives a new development direction to the traditional education model. The education reform in the intelligent environment is urgent. Under this background, the theory, methods, and characteristics of intelligent music education are expounded based on traditional piano music education. AI and Internet-based smart piano education is introduced. The characteristics of smart piano and its methods of assisting music teaching are analyzed. Moreover, literature review and questionnaire are adopted based on intelligent music education and smart piano theory. With two universities A and B in Nanjing as the research object, the questionnaire is designed to investigate and analyze the related problems of smart piano-assisted piano basic teaching in detail. The results show that smart piano positively improves skill training and psychological training in piano teaching. Piano major learners believe that smart piano can obviously help beginners and people with low piano levels. However, smart piano is not as good as traditional piano for high-level learners. In actual teaching, teachers should use different strategies for different levels of learners. Regarding curriculum quality, teachers have not fully played the role of the smart piano, and the curriculum of smart piano-assisted basic piano teaching still needs improvement. Finally, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the development direction of smart piano in piano music education are put forward according to the current situation of the smart piano. The results can reflect the current situation of smart piano-assisted basic piano teaching, provide a reference for researchers in related industries, and promote the related development of smart piano.

Abstract:
With the rise of piano teaching in recent years, many people participated in the team of learning steel playing. However, expensive piano teaching fees and its unique one-to-one teaching model have caused piano education resources to be very short, so learning piano performance has become a very extravagant event. The factors affecting music performance are varying, and there are many types of their evaluation such as rhythm, expressiveness, music, and style grasp. The computer is used to simulate this evaluation process to essentially identify the mathematical relationship between factors affecting music performance and evaluation indicators. The use of computer multimedia software for piano teaching has become a feasible way to alleviate the contradiction. This paper discusses the implementation method of piano teaching software, the issues of computer piano teaching, the computer teaching as one-way knowledge, and the lack of interaction. The neural network (NN) model is used to evaluate the piano performance and simulate teachers to guide students through their exercise. The performance of the proposed system is tested for the piano music of “Ode to Joy,” which is different from the collection of NN training samples, and is delivered ten times by another piano teacher, student A (piano level 6), and student B (piano level 5).

Abstract:
In recent years, with the improvement of economic level, music art has become a major focus of extracurricular teaching. Students of all ages are included. However, the high cost of piano teaching and the unique one-to-one teaching method of teachers and students lead to the lack of piano education resources. Learning piano has become a luxury activity. Therefore, using computer multimedia software to teach piano has become a feasible way to alleviate the current contradiction. For piano teaching, the main difficulties are the differences between teachers and students (i.e., the data change at both ends due to the network), the instability of the network system, and the neural network algorithm can solve these difficulties. Based on this point, this work aims to introduce neural network algorithm into piano teaching intelligent system. This paper first introduces the theoretical basis of the neural network algorithm, then expounds the algorithm flow and general framework of the algorithm in speech recognition, and explains the split explanation in combination with five aspects: preprocessing, character extraction, acoustic model, linguistic model, and decoding. Then, it introduces the system design of intelligent piano teaching and describes the general system requirements and product architecture. Finally, the intelligent piano teaching system is tested and applied to prove the effectiveness of the system. I hope this intelligent piano teaching system can provide more convenience for piano teaching.

Abstract:
In order to improve the effect of piano information teaching, a piano information teaching mode based on deep learning algorithm is proposed. The teaching objectives are divided into three levels: classroom teaching objectives, curriculum objectives, and education and training objectives. A piano information classroom integrating cloud application platform, teaching platform, resource platform, learning space, and interactive classroom is built. The previous teaching mode is optimized to build an innovative teaching mode of piano information classroom. The evaluation index system of piano informatization classroom teaching quality is constructed, and the hierarchical structure model of each evaluation index is established by using the analytic hierarchy process. The hierarchical analysis method is used to establish a hierarchical structure model of each evaluation index. The judgment matrix is determined by the nine-digit scale method. After the consistency verification of the judgment matrix, the weight of the quality evaluation of piano information classroom teaching is calculated. The new mode optimizes the weight and threshold of BP neural network in deep learning algorithm by genetic algorithm (GA). The weight of each classroom teaching quality evaluation index is input into the GA-BP neural network, and the network output result is the piano information classroom teaching quality evaluation score. The test results show that the optimal number of hidden layer nodes for the BP neural network is 7, when the GA-BP neural network iterations are 95. This method can evaluate the quality of piano information classroom teaching, with high evaluation accuracy and strong practical application.

With the popularization of piano education, various schools are constantly carrying out reforms in order to cultivate piano application-oriented talents. While accelerating the creation of a perfect piano teaching model, they are also striving to adapt to the trend of the times. The basic education of piano in colleges and universities is a training activity for musicians, and this education method directly affects the professional quality of music of students. How to learn basic piano is very worthy of attention. Basic piano education is a thorough training of piano in conventional colleges, which can improve practical strength and the capacity to apply music broadly. The main purpose of teaching the fundamentals of piano is to develop students’ visual acuity and help them comprehend and apply the principles of aesthetics. The teaching approach for beginning piano classes at various schools is still in its infancy and is deficient in every way. This essay examines the “flipped classroom (FC)” teaching approach used to offer beginner piano lessons in a number of schools. This study proposes the specific process of the “FC” teaching mode and explores the implementation impact of particular scenarios, specifically in light of the features of the training mode of applied abilities. Through inquiry and research, it has been determined that students who get FC instruction have greater employment rates than those who receive traditional instruction, with an average rise of 14.2 percent and a maximum increase of 17 percent. Based on the students’ application skills, it demonstrates that the FC teaching technique is generally successful for the teaching method of basic piano courses in colleges and universities.

Abstract:
In today’s society, with the gradual improve5ment of material living standards, people are also more in pursuit of their own spiritual enjoyment. The study of piano has gradually become a way for people to enrich their spiritual life, and more and more people attach importance to it. In the field of piano teaching, the two-piano method is a unique form of playing the piano. In order to solve the problem that the recognition accuracy of the sequence of two pianos is seriously reduced in the environment of noise and reverberation, this paper proposes an auxiliary training analysis system based on the neural network model. Firstly, in order to learn the nonlinear relationship between the sound order and the target task label from the massive data, a multitask preprocessing method combining speech enhancement and detection is used to supervise the deep neural network training. Then, convolutional neural network is used to construct the end-to-end recognition system, and the initial recognition results are checked and corrected by the phonological sequence model. Finally, the sequence recognition is carried out under the condition of noise, and the articulation is improved by speech enhancement front-end module, and then the sequence recognition model is used for recognition. Compared with traditional training methods, it is proved that our method is effective in improving the training efficiency and performance quality of players. At the same time, this method breaks through the limitation of traditional training method of double piano, creates a more scientific training means, and realizes the practice and application of artificial intelligence technology in the teaching of double piano.

Abstract:
Patterns and repetitions are the essence of studies and exercises for piano. In music history, among composers, Carl Czerny (1791–1857) composed a great number of easy pieces for piano pedagogy that widely employed patterns and repetitions. Nowadays, minimalistic music is a new style but overlaps with the traditional repertoire of piano pedagogy on this emphasis. To employ minimalistic music in piano teaching is a new approach. Further, piano teachers can even compose pedagogical repertoire in minimalism for students. Here, I introduced my own experiences of composing such music for my students. The result was proved satisfactory in teaching. Many piano teachers composed music for their students, which was a convention in piano teaching in music history. They contributed huge amount of repertoire to piano. In the meanwhile, they were dedicated to teaching as well. Nowadays, this practice is still shining in A New Approach in Piano Teaching 6 piano pedagogy. There is a great number of piano teachers who compose music for piano pedagogy. They naturally make the music collections and published them. Undoubtedly, music composition is a specific major study in music schools and conservatories. However, the twenty-first century is an era of free style, like you can mix drinks of different flavors from a beverage machine. Further, minimalism naturally brings a solution for achieving your own piano pedagogical pieces. You can have a try! It is so fun and joyful, when you teach your students your own pieces and then enjoy progresses your students make. Ultimately, this practice will bring you such happiness when they can even memorize and perform your music. Of course, it will be fantastic if you publish your music for piano pedagogy.

Abstract:
Humans have been developing and playing musical instruments for millennia. With technological advancements, instruments were becoming ever more sophisticated. In recent decades computer-supported innovations have also been introduced in hardware design, usability, and aesthetics. One of the most commonly digitally augmented instruments is the piano. Besides electronic keyboards, several prototypes augmenting pianos with different projections providing various levels of interactivity on and around the keyboard have been implemented in order to support piano players. However, it is still unclear whether these solutions support the learning process. In this paper, we present a systematic review of augmented piano prototypes focusing on instrument learning based on the four themes derived from interviews with piano experts to understand better the problems of teaching the piano. These themes are (i) synchronised movement and body posture, (ii) sight-reading, (iii) ensuring motivation, and (iv) encouraging improvisation. We found that prototypes are saturated on the synchronisation themes, and there are opportunities for sight-reading, motivation, and improvisation themes. We conclude by presenting recommendations on augmenting piano systems towards enriching the piano learning experience as well as on possible directions to expand knowledge in the area.

Abstract:
Teaching using a multimedia technology in the 21 s t century affords the possibility of developing novel instructional strategies and paves the way for the all-around extension of musical educational functions. The importance of multimedia teaching technology in piano instruction has started to emerge in our country and society due to the ongoing development of this kind of technology in music educational institutions here. The conventional method of teaching piano has several drawbacks that may be mitigated by using one of the several alternative methods of instruction for the instrument, especially in light of the ongoing advancements in science and technology. A pianist’s methods of expression are the tools they use to convey their thoughts and emotions about a piece of music to the audience. Teachers may demonstrate their musical skills to students and they must immediately focus on a musical expression which is vital for performers. In this paper, the Multimedia-based Piano Teaching Model (MPTM) has been proposed to improve the piano teaching quality. Traditional piano instruction is improved and developed using multimedia technology in this article. The Internet education model is used for teacher assessment, and the systematic way representing piano teaching combines different music educational materials. It begins building a sufficiently broad music network infrastructure resource sharing framework and benefits society’s amateur music literacy. The use of machine learning in students’ concrete piano instruction has the potential to thoroughly promote contemporary piano instruction and enhance the overall quality of instruction. To begin, an explanation of the intelligent piano’s features and capabilities is provided. The neural network is used to suggest a technique for detecting a piano note on a set. The network can assess the input piano music signal’s time frequency by translating the original time-domain waveform into the time-varying frequency distribution. Intelligent piano instruction analysis can effectively achieve the overall optimization of piano performance. The test results show that MPTM has a significant role in boosting the desire to learn to play the instrument. The experimental results show that the proposed MPTM achieves a learning skills ratio of 97.6%, a learning activity ratio of 98.5%, a student performance ratio of 93.8%, a teaching evaluation ratio of 90.3%, and a learning behavior ratio of 94.2% when compared to other methods.

This paper presents a new method of building piano teaching innovation model based on full depth learning. The model includes the following main steps: (1) The normal behavior samples of piano teaching are obtained by the method of spectral clustering based on dynamic time homing (DTW), and the hidden Markov model; (2) to further train the hidden Markov model parameters in a large sample by means of iterative learning; (3) to use the maximum a posteriori (MAP) adaptive method to estimate the Hidden Markov Model (HMM) of the piano teaching behavior in a supervised manner; (4) The behavioral hidden Markov topology model is established for model estimation. The main features of this method are: it can automatically select the kinds and samples of the normal behavior patterns of piano teaching to establish an innovative model of piano teaching; the problem of under-learning of Hidden Markov Model (HMM) can be avoided in the case of fewer samples. The experimental results show that this model is more reliable than other methods.

Students benefit from teacher’s action during education in a variety of subjects. Identifying the need for a better understanding of the influence of various presentation types at different levels of student proficiency is extremely important. Moreover, these skills are also important to any technique of learning piano in a school environment. The significance of music in the school’s curriculum, new concepts for teaching music in the school, and new ideas for teaching piano were among them. This study focuses on a teaching environment and piano learning in which beginning and advanced piano students study to produce a particular style of staccato in three types of group instruction scenarios. The musical difficulty is only demonstrated through audio and observation of the teacher’s action performance. The comprehensive ability evaluation system for piano teaching can, to a certain extent, evaluate and sort the ability of college piano teaching. Therefore, this paper utilizes the attribute method in combination with instant analysis which provides seven attribute indicators. The approach is reasonable, and evaluating characteristics such as the level of the school’s teaching plan set and related psychological weights may well be revised as necessary to address users’ requirements. After completely integrating the qualities of the school and comprehensively examining various contributing factors, the students’ learning quality in different grades or the same grade of colleges and universities may be determined. Abstract:
Piano note recognition is a process that converts music audio files into digital music files automatically, which is critical for piano assistant training and automatic recording of musical pieces. The Merle spectral coefficients, for example, have been used to implement the majority of the existing examples. The piano is one of the most popular forms of student education in today’s world. Piano teachers should be aware of the implications. We can only truly adapt piano teaching to the educational purposes of higher education institutions if we implement a systematic, progressive, practical, and innovative philosophy of piano teaching. The Markov model is a statistical model that is widely used in speech signal processing. This thesis develops a set of mathematical models for piano speech recognition based on the Markov model, learns them systematically and scientifically, and achieves a better teaching effect. It is demonstrated that the Markov method detects the corresponding endpoints with an accuracy of 72.83 percent, which is 16.42 percent better than the a priori method. In terms of amplitude and phase, the Markov model shows a significant improvement. The findings of this study can be used to improve piano playing techniques taught to students in accordance with their favourite popular music, depending on the theme.

Abstract:
The work is aimed at solving the problems of easy trapping into local extremes and slow convergence speed of the traditional music teaching evaluation system on Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN). The traditional note recognition methods are susceptible to high noise complexity. Firstly, the Levenberg Marquardt (LM) algorithm is used to optimize the BPNN; secondly, an improved endpoint detection algorithm is proposed by short-term energy difference, which can accurately identify the time value of each note in the piano playing audio. By the traditional frequency domain analysis method, a radical frequency extraction algorithm is proposed by the improved standard harmonic method, which can accurately identify the note’s pitch. Finally, a piano performance evaluation model by BPNN is implemented, and the model is implemented by the Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) system. This evaluation model can be used to correct the errors of students’ performances in the piano music teaching process and to perform overall evaluation, rhythm evaluation, and expressive evaluation. Teachers and students play minuet to collect experimental samples to train BPNN and test the performance of the evaluation model. The practical result shows that (1) after 3000 times of training, the neural network error is less than 0.01, and the network converges; (2) the evaluation results of the piano performance evaluation model designed are basically in line with the actual level of the performer and have specific feasibility; and (3) the optimized BPNN is used to correct errors during performances with an accuracy rate of 94.3%, which is 5.25% higher than the traditional method. The error correction accuracy rate for pitch is 92.9%, which is 5.21% higher than the traditional method. The optimized BPNN has significantly improved the error correction accuracy of the notes and pitches played by the player. The model can effectively help piano beginners correct errors and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the practice. The purpose of this study is to alleviate the scarcity of piano teachers, reduce the work intensity of piano teachers, realize automatic error correction and objective evaluation of playing, and provide necessary technical support for improving the efficiency of piano music teaching.

Abstract:
AbstractOnline Piano Learning at Concertino Music School Medan: A Qualitative Study of Non-Formal Education During the Pandemic. Since the initial rise of the Covid 19 pandemic in Indonesia, the productivity of music learning activities, especially pianos, in non-formal institutions has drastically decreased. This research aims to examine the piano teacher teaching strategies in carrying out their profession in the institution so that students can survive learning. This study utilizes qualitative methods. The sample population of this research encompasses educational practitioners and their participants, especially teachers and students at Concertino Music School. This study collects data through limited participatory observation with the participant's approach as an observer. However, in this observation, a selected teacher and her student will represent the population. The research procedure includes establishing data, observing data as an observer, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that online piano learning relies on information and communication technology availability and readiness in teachers and students. In addition to unstable networks, the weakness of online education in the piano learning process is hindered by technical instructions on piano playing accuracy, especially by screen limitations. In conclusion, to overcome curriculum targets that Canada is fulfilled entirely by the student due to the limitations of technology facilities, teachers increase direction with motivation to improve students' self-independence in learning. This online piano learning process will contribute to the development of online music teaching methods in non-formal institutions and improve distance music education studies. Keywords: non-formal education; qualitative studies; online learning; piano

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The paper presents a summary of a four-year long research on the text books in piano playing for the beginners. On the one hand, today, changes in paradigms are discussed much about (child-centered education), national standards are defined and author programmes have been developed by teachers; on the other hand, teaching aids adequate to the new paradigm and aimed at promoting 5-7 year old children’s education in piano playing do not exist. The Aim of the Study is to formulate holistic approach-based principles that would underlie the development of a contemporary, scientifically valid teaching aid in piano playing for 5-7 year old children. Research subject: holistic approach to the development of a teaching aid in piano playing for 5-7 year old children. Research object: principles of developing a teaching aid. The research results in defining the holistic approach-based principles for developing a teaching aid: gradualness, visuality, musical diversity, compactness, regularity, esthetics, national/ multinational principle, perceptibility, adequacy to the age, self-creation and scientific principle. On the basis of these principles, a text book for 5-7 year old children has been designed by the author and assessed by experts. The research data are analyzed both qualitatively (surveys of teachers and pupils’ parents) and quantitatively (method of experts’ conclusions). A textbook could help to comprehend what is happening at music lessons and easier join the piano training process, and it could also make the piano training process, whose participants are children, teachers and parents, more diverse and creative.
