Abstract:
Kata kunci:panel surya, heatmap, cubic spline, interpolasi ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the distribution of heat that is exposed on the surface of solar panels or photo voltaic (PV), where the data from distributed sensor is processed by means of cubic spline interpolation method, so that it can be used to determine the ideal and effective position of solar panel to receive sunlight radiation. In addition to heat information on the solar panel, information about the power generated by PV is also measured. Based on the heatmap generated from the interpolation method and the experimental results, it shows that the PV panel in a vertical position with 0o inclination at 12.00-14.00 produces the highest current which is 449.2mA with the output voltage of 1.03V, thus the generated power is about 0.46W. This is more optimal than the surface temperature of the PV which is hotter in the vertical position with a 45o or horizontal position with 0o and 45o at the same time. Keywords: solar panel, heatmap, cubic spline, interpolation

Abstract:
A communication circuit for transmitting and receiving signal through a series connection of photo-voltaic (PV) panels is proposed. It consists of a transformer connected in series with each panel to couple current signal in and out of the DC power line. This allows data transmission through the panels without using any additional wires or radio frequency link. A practical case of eight 40 W amorphous PV panels is used to demonstrate the design process. It is found that the optimum carrier frequency is 250 kHz at which the panel output impedance is around 5 Ohms, allowing the current signal to pass through with low energy lost. Coupling circuit consists of inductors and capacitors designed to give highest transmission at the carrier frequency. Simulation to verify the circuit performance using a non-ideal model of a toroidal transformer is carried out to prove the feasibility of the concept.

In this paper, we present a multi-view camera-array system by using commercial DSLR cameras. In order to produce quality autostereoscopic prints, we initially calibrated the color based on X-Rite color-checker, then automatically adjust the alignment of all images by one black-white checker. In this system, we also utilized an external electronic trigger based on Arduino for synchronizing all cameras to generate bullet-time effect photos. Finally, we converted all photos into multiplexed images then printed them on a lenticular lens panel to be an autostereoscopic photo frame.

Abstract:
The location of shaded and unshaded panels affect power generation of solar photo-voltaic array, which not only causes the disturbance in characteristic curves but also achieves multiple maximum peaks. In order to overcome these issues, panel reconfiguration is proposed based on chaotic baker map technique, which employs the concept of image processing. In this approach, the static position of a panel is changed without altering the electrical circuit to minimize the power loss and enhance the maximum power. The proposed method is tested with different sizes of solar photo-voltaic array considering a wide range of shading spectrum on both software and hardware platforms. The proposed approach augments the output power and minimizes the mismatch power loss by reducing the mismatch in row currents with both simulations and prototype results. The results of the proposed approach are compared with hitherto known configurations under various shading conditions, which support the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:
Monitoring the malfunction of the solar cells (for instance, 156 mm by 156 mm) caused by the soil debris requires a very low flight altitude when taking aerial photos, utilizing the autopilot function of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The autopilot flight can only operate at a certain level of altitude that can guarantee collision avoidance for flight obstacles (for instance, power lines, trees, buildings) adjacent to the place where the solar panel is installed. For this reason, aerial photos taken by autopilot flight capture unnecessary objects (surrounding buildings and roads) around the solar panel at a tremendous level. Therefore, the autopilot-based thermal imaging causes severe data redundancy with very few matched key-points around the malfunctioned solar cells. This study aims to explore the tracking capability on soil debris defects in solar cell scale between UAV video versus photo-mosaic. This study experimentally validated that the video-based thermal imaging can track the thermal deficiency caused by the malfunction of the solar cell at the level of the photo-mosaic in terms of correlation of thermal signatures (0.98–0.99), detection on spatial patterns (81–100%), and distributional property (90–95%) with 2.5–3.4 times more matched key-points on solar cells. The results of this study could serve as a valuable reference for employing video stream in the process of investigating soil debris defects in solar cell scale.

Abstract: The goal of this project was to develop a laboratory prototype of a solar tracking system, which is able to enhance the performance of the photovoltaic modules in a solar energy system. The operating principle of the device is to keep the photovoltaic modules (solar panels) constantly aligned with the sunbeams, which maximizes the exposure of solar panel to the Sun’s radiation. As a result, more output power can be produced by the solar panel. The work of the project included hardware design and implementation, together with software programming for the microcontroller unit of the solar tracker. The system utilized an Arduino sensor microcontroller to control motion of two D/C motors, which rotate solar panel in two axes. The amount of rotation was determined by the microcontroller, based on inputs retrieved from four photo sensors located next to solar panel. At the end of the project, and one cleaning unit also installed to clean the solar panels automatically with switch, a functional solar tracking system was designed and implemented. It was able to keep the solar panel aligned with the sun, or any light source repetitively. Design of the solar tracker from this project is also a reference and a starting point for the development of more advanced systems in the future.

The Resistor or Capacitor touch screen have become popular in displays for industrial and amusing applications. We provide new method to integrate photo sensor in display panel. The touch function work or not base on touch or un-touch that will change brightness value, through the sensing by photo sensor and A/D converter, we can obtain different digital signal variation, and processing by image algorithm calculating, we can obtain the result for X/Y coordinates. Because the sensing function base on brightness change, so the shadow will cause function error for photo sensor touch panel and no function in very dark of environment. We will provide the new dynamic threshold and VGS voltage control method and algorithm processing that can solve these issues. Use the sensing value by photo sensor and adjust the threshold value suitably and photo sensor VGS voltage that effectives solve function error cause by shadow and the touch no function cause brightness change issues. Touch Panel Integration on Glass is a new proposal for recent display technology. The way to produce is to add photo-sensor structure in TFT Pixel Array, then to integrate touch panel function into 15 inch a-Si TFT-LCD panel, and to enable the display panel with Light-Pen Input Display or Finger Sensing Input Display function. We embedded a-Si photo sensors every 4 lines of gate lines and data lines into 15 inch LCD panel with resolution of XGA 1024x768 to let the sensor line resolution to reach 256x192. Either use fingers to block the light or use the light pen to put the strong light on the touch panel, we allow the touch panel create movements. When use fingers to block the ambient light it will have analog signal output, then through ADC to transfer analog signal to digital signal which is acceptable by computers. FPGA provides timing chart to analog board, through SPI interface to C8051, then through USB convey to PC, and the software touch control drivers in the computer will integrate all the components and edit them to calculate, finally show the position that users been touched on the screen. The biggest advantage of photo-sensor touch panel is to lower the cost, improve the transmittance, long lasting, reduce the thickness, and improve the calibration problems of capacitive touch panel.

In a LCD panel that has equipped with pixel photo sensors for image capture, the ambient light intensity detection is critical for the read-out circuit. In this study, for simulation purpose, we use CMOS optical sensors as detecting element and their spatial filtering signal as an indicating factor for improving the read-out circuit efficiency. In the further study, TFT array will be used for similar investigation. This thesis aims at developing an efficient method for backlight light intensity detection in touch panel. By catching a fixed backlight light source frequency we can detect the touch on the panel even working in the dark. This new touch approach will change the way we use and control the mobile phones and panel. The detecting circuits for the touch panel are integrated directly onto the screen and this makes products lighter and smaller with added portability and convenience.

Recently, for interactive purposes, detecting devices are been developed on the existing TFT-LCD panels. Many of them are based on resistive, capacitive or inductive touch technology. All these solutions require externally added components or one more layer of screen, which add the cost and degrade the optical performance. In our study, we use a novel approach by building an additional TFT photo-diode in the existing LCD display pixel as a detecting element. This diode can be embedded during the panel manufacturing process and incurring no additional cost. After the post-product evaluation, this diode also shows no impediment to the light efficiency. In this way, by using the photo-diode array and by going with a designed detecting circuit, the imaging signal that appears on the panel can then be read out. In this study we investigate a readout circuit that can be used to distinguish the noise that comes from environment and the signal that comes from our remote controlled light-pen on hand. By the circuit we can get the required results of lower power consumption and smaller integrated chip area in comparison with using conventional ADC. In addition to the advantage of low power supply it has high output voltage swing and is suitable for implementation in advanced submicron CMOS technologies. The circuit proposed above is design in a TSMC 0.35um process and verified by HSPICE program.

In this structure, because the back light source can cause error during the signal read out period, here we used the correlated double sample (CDS) method to reduce the noise. By this way we can trace the moving light spot locus on the panel and transfer the coordinate data to the following processor for further processing. Besides, we used the hysteresis comparator as an analog to binary signal converter. This comparator circuit has designed with a bistable characteristic that has an adjustable threshold, so that the other noise influence such as thermal noise and dark current that comes from the LCD panel can be minimized. The parameters that influence the threshold variations and loop of hysteresis are observed. The circuit proposed above is design in a TSMC 0.35um process and verified by HSPICE program.

Abstract:
The relationship of the Swiss population to the forest has been investigated in surveys since 1978, and in 1997 for the first time as part of the so-called “Sociocultural forest monitoring” or “Waldmonitoring soziokulturell” WaMos. This report describes the results of the national Wa- Mos3 survey 2020. The online panel of the market research institute LINK was used for the sur- vey. In addition to the representative survey of the adult population, a sample of 156 adolescents was also interviewed. The self-assessed level of information on forest topics has declined since WaMos2 (2010), with older people feeling better informed than younger people. The level of knowledge regarding the increase in forest area in Switzerland and the management of mountain forests for protection against natural hazards is also lower among younger people than among older ones. Today, the population attributes greater importance to most forest functions for society than in WaMos2. In particular, the ecological function, the production function and the recreational function have gained importance. More people than in WaMos2 (2010) assume that forest health has deteriorated. Changes due to climate change, such as drought damage, are perceived by the population. The majority of the population is in favour of active forest management for climate adaptation. With regard to the ecological function of the forest, most people know that biodiversity has decreased. Accor- dingly, the acceptance of forest reserves is high, as is that of large carnivores. Climate change, the expansion of settlements, introduced animal and plant species and pests are seen as the greatest threats to the forest. Great importance is attached to the protective function of the forest. Nevertheless, knowledge about the interrelation between the management and the pro- tective function of mountain forests is declining. In principle, the population is satisfied with the management of the most frequently visited forest. The felling of trees and closing of roads for logging are well accepted by the population. Leaving branches lying on the ground after logging is controversial, and is either well accepted or not accepted at all. Sustainability criteria have gained in importance when purchasing timber products. In terms of forest preferences, the population likes mixed forests best. The presence of a shrub layer is better liked than in WaMos2 (2010) and the liking of deadwood is also increasing at a low level. However, recreational infrastructure is valued less and less. For the first time, forest photos were also presented to the respondents for assessment. It turns out that already existing forest preferences, motives for visiting the forest, the importance of the forest in childhood and the language region have an influence on visual attractiveness of forest. Forest characteristics such as visibility range, shrub layer cover and cover of berry bushes, stage of stand development, stand structure and the presence of deadwood also have an influence. In order to get a picture of which forests people visit, they were asked to mark the forest they visit most often on a map using PPGIS. Local recreation dominates; the densest cloud of points is found where Switzerland is most densely populated. As always, most people go to the forest frequently. The most frequently cited motives for visiting the forest are “experiencing nature”, “enjoying fresh air” and “escaping from everyday life”. Adolescents go to the forest less often. Their activities in the forest are dominated by barbecues/bonfires/parties, jogging and sports in general. Satisfaction with forest visits has decreased at a high level compared to 2010. Forest attractiveness is rated lower, the visit to the forest is perceived as less restorative and the per- ceived disturbances are increasing. In sum, the Swiss population highly values the forest, as a recreational area, but also in particu- lar as a habitat for plants and animals. Ecological awareness seems to have risen again in the last 10 years, and with it concerns about the state of the forest and biodiversity. On the other hand, satisfaction with forest recreation – at a high level – has somewhat declined.

Abstract:
1. Flat-panel monitors—OK, you not only know about flatpanel monitors, you’ve longed for one for years. But if you haven’t checked the prices recently, check again—this may be the time to buy. These monitors are now brighter, sharper, and clearer than ever. A 17-, 19-, even a 20-inch display has become more affordable, especially as part of a new computer system. With no border inside the frame, you see much more display area than with a CRT that boasts the same screen size. Some can even be rotated between portrait and landscape views. In the bargain, flat-panel monitors weigh less, emit fewer UV rays, use less electricity, and generate far less heat. They really are cool! 2. Multifunction printers—MFPs (multi-function printers), or all-in-ones, actually do do it all: print, copy, scan, and (usually) fax. Conventional wisdom cautions against hardware that performs more than one function, on the theory that if one part fails the whole thing goes south. But modern MFPs are solid and reliable. And they’re vastly more simple to set up and use than four separate machines (think software, wires, and space). Laser MFPs usually print, copy, and fax in black and white but scan in color. Ink-jet models do everything in color. Ink jets are initially less expensive, but if you factor in the cost of rapidly consumed color cartridges, laser is cheaper in the long run— especially if your primary output is text. 3. Photo printers—On the other hand, specialized ink-jet photo printers, which make it a breeze to print color images from your digital camera, are growing more and more popular. Some of them are flexible enough to print directly—not only from digital cameras but from memory cards and wireless devices, like PDAs and camera phones. Others connect through your PC. Some even allow you to print labels and photos onto special CDs! But primarily, you are freed to print stunningly clear, professional-looking, borderless pictures without leaving home. Abstract:
The system serves self-sufficient energy in discrete geographic footprints, for example, college, hospital, neighborhood. Distributed energy is the kind of energy through which more or more microgrids produce their power (wind turbines, solar panels, combined heat & power, generators). The group of distributed energy resources and interconnected loads clearly defined the electrical boundaries that act as a single controllable establishment concerning the grid. For both grid-connected or Island-mode, A microgrid can connect or disconnect from the grid. It has also become one of the most important research key spots on distributed energy systems. There are numerous research projects in this world and the definition of the microgrid is a model for the first time the investigation of this area is glowing continuously. Power electronic interfaced distribution generation system creates power quality issues in the distribution power system & the increased penetration of nonlinear loads. This paper, it’s talked about the survey on microgrids to better the power quality framework is taken as the main impartial. With the help of the other technique, the improvement of power quality issues are taken in this paper the detailed investigations are explored by filters, controllers, FACTS devices, compensators, batteries storage. According to Time-of-use(TOU), the working ability was to examine and look into the Two solar PV micro-grid systems. It also brings different economic benefits and battery storage was used to adjust the operation of strategies. Simulation loads were also chosen to simulate the load difference and Heat storage. Power generation of the Photo-voltaic was exhaustively compared in two locations with different solar resources.

Abstract:
Rachel Carson has become Saint Rachel, canonized time and again by the environmental movement. May 27, 2007, marked the 100th anniversary of her birth. In that year, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster, Massachusetts, hosted a major Rachel Carson centennial exhibition. The show was a partnership project of the museum and the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and it featured artifacts, writings, photographs, and artwork from Carson’s life and career. In 2012, the 50th anniversary of the publication of Silent Spring was commemorated by a Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens event and exhibit. From September 7 through October 23, the exhibit presented artwork, photos, and interpretive panels in the visitor center. Canonization, and the posthumous fame it bestows, comes at a price: the disappearance of the Rachel Carson whose work was driven by two forces. The first was the love of nature. A perceptive review of The Sea Around Us compares Carson with great science writers who share with her a love of nature: . . . It is not an accident of history that Gilbert White and Charles Darwin described flora and fauna with genius, nor that the great mariners and voyagers in distant lands can re-create their experiences as part of our own. They wrote as they saw and their honest, questing eye, their care for detail is raised to the power of art by a deep-felt love of nature, and respect for all things that live and move and have their being. . . . The second force was the love of a woman, Dorothy Freeman, a person who in Carson’s view made her later life endurable and her later work possible: . . . All I am certain of is this: that it is quite necessary for me to know that there is someone who is deeply devoted to me as a person, and who also has the capacity and the depth of understanding to share, vicariously, the sometimes crushing burden of creative effort, recognizing the heartache, the great weariness of mind and body, the occasional black despair it may involve—someone who cherishes me and what I am trying to create, as well. . . .

Abstract:
The products in the market are mostly 2D sensing. The touch panel technology is used in the industry and the video game wisely. Many of the ATMs, cell phones and the vending machines have touch panel technology in these years. The touch panel technology grows up quickly. In recent years, there has been increasing interests in proximity sensing technology [1–3]. This study proposes the 3D proximity sensing can be used in un-touch screen, a 3D keyboard, or constructed on the robot’s hand for sensing the distance and position of an object. As the optical components advance, the optical system, optical touch panel, object sensing and medical system are growing up with it. A photo detector is the part of the optical component. However, the photo detector transfers the photon to the current (photocurrent). This study needs a circuit to be the rear end of the photo detector, transferring the current to the voltage. An active pixel sensor is the viable way to realize the function. For the large area object sensing and high resolution, one pixel should be designed as small as possible. A small pixel however gives small photocurrent. The efficient way to transfer the photon to the voltage is important. The aim of this study is to develop a 3D-position sensing technique for an arbitrary object. The schematic for illustration is shown in Fig. 1. Different from conventional 2D capacitance or resistance touch panels, the proposed proximity sensor array has third axis sensing and the 3D sensing. A new active pixel circuit is proposed for realizing the sensor array. The active pixel sensor is used to convert the light to the voltage, and it can improve the resolution and reduce the noise. The standard and official active pixel sensor is a 3T-structure APS (or 3T-APS). The drawback of 3T-APS is that the output range is limited by the original circuit design. The maximum output cannot be up to bias voltage. The new APS resolution is better than the standard 3T-APS resolution in this aspect. It is a good improvement in terms of not only the CMOS sensor but also the 3D optical proximity sensing circuit.

Abstract:
Augmenting photo-voltaic (PV) system performance using fixed flat mirrors boosts PV power output. Previous literature reports that fixed flat mirrors create non-uniform irradiance on the PV panels, which limits the current and decreases panel efficiency. Triplex panels have a modified cell string architecture that splits the panel into three separate sections to address this problem. This paper describes an experimental setup consisting of a pyranometer to measure total solar irradiation, an air temperature sensor, a standard PV panel with and without mirrors, and a triplex panel with and without mirrors. The sensor and PV panels are connected to Daystar Multi-tracer logger to collect the instantaneous data. The experiment is simulated using TracePro® to determine the distribution of radiation reflected onto the PV panels. Both simulated and measured results indicate the bottom part of the mirror augmented panels receive the most solar irradiance followed by middle portion, followed by top portion. The results document the difference in performance between standard and Triplex panels with fixed flat mirrors and suggest configurations that maximize performance.

Abstract:
Dye Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSC) is a relatively new form of solar panels which use a photo reactive dye and electrolytic cell to capture sunlight and turn it into electricity. The efficiency of DSSCs is about 10% but they are much less expensive to produce than silicon solar cells. The carbon dioxide release from DSSC manufacture is much less than a silicon solar cell, so DSSCs pay back their greenhouse gas emissions rapidly, while many silicon panels may never pay back the pollution they require to manufacture. Because of greater efficiency, silicon solar cells still produce power more cheaply than DSSC. Slight improvements to efficiency or reduction in cost would make these solar panels a more cost effective solution for photovoltaic power. A standard DSSC was built and compared to a modified version using a graphite layer instead of platinum. Surprisingly, the graphite panel outperformed the platinum panel. This is thought to be a result of inexperienced manufacturing. Recommendations for improvements for the experiment are outlined.
