Abstract:

Abstract:
Introduction. The pandemic not only led to changes in the way and living conditions of mankind, but also contributed to replenishing the vocabulary of the English and Ukrainian languages, being a prerequisite for the appearance of new words and phrases covering the coronavirus topic. Methods. To achieve the goal, the method of analysis of linguistic literature and the method of generalization were used. The material of the scientific work was the lexemes of the concept sphere "COVID-19 pandemic", obtained with the help of a random sample from Ukrainian- and English-language sites and web pages of print and online mass media. Research results and their discussion. The article considers the phenomenon of telescoping as a process of creating new lexemes as a result of the fusion of individual elements, the narrowing of the limits of telescoping is traced. It was revealed that the factor for the emergence of neolexems formed with the help of telescoping is considered to be "language economy", or the "law of economy of linguistic efforts", which combines the desire for brevity and the selection of the most informative language means. Linguists note the combined nature of this phenomenon, which is due to the use of methods of contraction of bases (which is characteristic of word formation), reduction and division of words (formation). For the structure of telescoping, it is important to determine its basis, that is, the arrangement of parts in telescoping. Usually, the basis is the last motivating element, if telescoping is similar to a word combination. As the results of the study showed, independent parts of the language are the basis for the creation of neolexems of the pandemic period in the compared languages. Various classifications of telescopisms are known. We structured the analyzed neolexes according to the classification based on the structural principle: full telescopisms, partial telescopisms, haplologs. The most productive type of creation of telescopisms in the English language is partial telescoping. In the Ukrainian language, the telescopic method of word formation developed under the influence of the English language and at the present stage is unproductive in the creation of neolexems during the pandemic period.

Abstract:
The paper, written on the basis of a report read at Tyumen University, is devoted to the prospects of international exchange in philology in the context of widely spread institutional and disciplinary preconceptions about “metropolitan” and “provincial” science. The focus is on the specifics of the subject and prevailing practices in both cases (the study of concepts / the study of contacts); the specifics of the treatment of the national literary canon; the choice of methodological approach and research contexts, etc. The main vectors of philological exchanges that overcome the “peripheral” limitations of local philological research, mostly seen in its subordinate informative function for world science, are comprehended. Among them, the methodological reflection, independent of specific national and cultural material, stands out. The assumption is made that general ideas and theoretical questions asked to the subject are best derived from a separate tradition into international circulation and have the greatest chance of being picked up by researches from other countries to enter into a dialogue with their own concepts. Such questions are asked to masterpieces of national classics, “big data” studied by specialists in “world literature”, and to great theorists of the past, whose legacy reconfigured the history of ideas. It is also indicated that the export of ideas is especially effective in the situation of revision of disciplinary divisions, the collapse of old and the formation of new research paradigms. Philology in this perspective acts as an epistemological reference point, helping to clarify the relationship between a culturally limited “science for oneself” and a cosmopolitan “science for everyone”.

Abstract:
The aim of this article is to research the properties of lexical innovations emerged during 2020–2021, the years of the global pandemic COVID-19, and the aspects of meaning of new phenomena they nominate. The study is based on the procedural apparatus of structural and pragmatic linguistics. The data used are taken out from online versions of English quality and mass newspapers, magazines, online dictionaries (oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com, dictionary.cambridge.org, collinsdictionary.com, merriam-webster.com, urbandictionary.com, dictionary.com). The results characterise the frequency of word-formation morphological models, comprising word-composition, blending and shortening. The paper focuses on innovations with the lexical items "coronavirus", "Covid-19", "epidemic / pandemic", "quarantine", "Zoom" functioning as a structural component in a series of structurally similar lexical units. The frequency of this structural component is explained by newly coined items semantics, which is connected with the relevant referent accepted by the society and most adequately understood, as it conveys a specific content about the realities of life. The meaning of such a word-formation constituent is easily predicted on the basis of its semantic structure. The article singles out the specific features of using the analyzed lexical innovations to refer to referents of various spheres in the English media discourse of 2020-2021 are identified and investigated. The research proves that innovations in question function in the English media discourse to realize a number of strategies. In the studied research the role of the selected lexical innovations of Covid-19 period in the implementation of strategies for organizing Modern English media discourse were taken into consideration: informative-interpretative, evaluative and attention drawing.

Abstract:
The article analyzes lexical and grammatical features of translating advertising slogans of automobile companies with the help of freely available translation programs, including some of the most popular in Ukraine – Google Translate and Pereklad.online.ua. It defines the universal characteristics for this kind of lexical material and methods of their vocabulary and grammar constructions and translation services for English both by free software, and professional translators. It is established that the slogan is a short advertising message that expresses the basic idea of the company, goods, services – as much as possible combines informative, expressive and aesthetic functions. When translating advertising slogans, the translator must take into account: the purpose of the text, the character of the consumer, the linguistic qualities of the original text, the cultural and individual abilities of the language in the cultural aspect of the consumer and many other factors. The translation of an advertising slogan into Ukrainian must be carried out in order to preserve the relative equality of the content, semantic, stylistic, functional and communicative information contained in the original and in the translation. Translating a slogan is a complicated process, and misinterpretation of the slogan's content or ignorance of the author's ideas may distort the content of the information. Today's realities require attention to translating advertising texts, also in terms of their psychological impact on the mass audience. Promotional texts must contain clear factual information; they must be comprehensible and therefore clearly understood. It should be noted that machine translation systems still play only a supporting role and can only satisfactorily translate simple syntactic and lexical structures including advertising slogans.

Abstract:
A dialect text is an informative and valuable source for researching the entire dialect system of a language, as well as for interdisciplinary studies related to cultural studies, folklore, ethnography, etc. The issues of the category of opposition were studied by L.A. Bulakhovskyi, F. de Saussure, O.O. Potebnia and others; Ukrainian linguists today consider antonymy mainly with regard to pragmatics (F.S. Batsevych, D.V. Movchan, K.V. Taranenko, N.O. Rusnak). In the article the category of opposition as one of the most widespread in the dialect text, the basis for creating informativeness about the past for the present life is analysed. It has been found that the category of opposition in oral stories-memoirs of dialect speakers is realised in the form of concepts-oppositions. Specific examples are used to illustrate the use of verbalisation techniques for concepts with oppositional meanings within the semantic field of the КОЛИСЬ – ЗАРАЗ. Іn dialect discourse, speakers focus on distinct differences in life and activity over time, and for the informativeness of communication, they talk about modern traditions and point out the differences in the past, thus expressing their attitude to such changes. The category of opposition is based on the opposite, which covers all spheres of human existence. In statements, two opposite states of an object or a subject are realised, and most importantly, the attitude of the linguistic personality, which makes it possible to create connotatively coloured linguistic units. The category of opposition as a logical procedure based on opposition (dissimilarity, incompatibility, comparison of objects, states, characteristics by certain differential features) covers the entire reality of human existence. Statements can represent two opposite states of an object or a subject, and most importantly, the attitude of a linguistic personality, which makes it possible to create connotatively coloured linguistic units.

Sarhan, N. "MICROTOPONYMS WITH THE FORMANTS -IV (-OV-, -EV-), -YN DERIVED FROM ANTHROPONYMS IN ZHYTOMYR POLISSIA." Вісник Житомирського державного університету імені Івана Франка. Філологічні науки, no. 1(102) (April 26, 2024): 120–30. http://dx.doi.org/10.35433/philology.1(102).2024.120-130.

Abstract:
The territory of Zhytomyr Polissia is rich in toponymic proper names of local significance geographic features. Names ending in -iv (-ov-, -ev-), -yn occupy a prominent place among the studied microtoponyms. Microtoponyms formed with the help of such formants reflect the system of local names of individuals, based on nicknames and personal names. Furthermore, personal names, as the basis for microtoponyms, are significant in terms of being a broad field for the creativity of people, thereby reflecting their worldview. The boundary between the aforementioned types of anthroponyms is often blurred since all lexemes that are now proper names of individuals could have functioned as common nouns in the past. Today, a surname is semantically neutral, as it is merely the name of a person inherited from an ancestor, indicating a characteristic feature of that ancestor. Therefore, in this article, our goal is to review and characterize the semantics of anthroponyms that motivated the formation of possessive models of microtoponyms with the formants -iv (-ov-, -ev-), -yn. A significant group consists of microhydronyms based on diminutive forms of Christian names, such as Vakulkova, Hrytskiv Luh, Yemilchyne, Klymkove, Kostykove, Levkove, Mykolaichykove, Natalchyne, Onyskove, Opanaskove, Petrykove, and so on. Informative are microtoponyms derived from anthroponyms, indicating the origin or place of residence of their owners (Lytvynova, Polyachkove) and personal names, indicating social affiliation or a person's permanent occupation or profession (Bosiakove, Holiakova, Diakova, Kovalova, Ksiondzove, Tsariv Lisok, Shevtseva Nyva and so on). The weighty category of nicknames, derivatives for local microtoponyms, consists of those characterizing a person by their appearance, physical features, and temperament: Zhmakove, Matloshove, Morhunove, Pospishylove, Psiurove, Strakhiv, Tsiupove, Shlapakove. These anthroponyms are interesting because the nicknames indicate the most prominent characteristic of a person, whether physical or moral (often exaggerated). Overall, the anthroponymy of Zhytomyr Polissia that motivated the formation of microtoponyms, despite conforming to common Ukrainian features, reflects dialectal and territorial characteristics of local names of geographic objects.

Abstract:
The article raises the issue of conceptual-semantic analysis of units of different lexical-grammatical classes to indicate rivalry. The referent of objective reality represented by the RIVALRY concept is a certain situation as a set of its interdependent elements. The analysis of the semantic structure of nominative units contributes to the establishment of deep patterns of interaction between the structures of human consciousness and linguistic forms. Nominative possibilities of the linguistic picture of the world are implemented by lexical units that are subject to conceptual analysis to achieve the goal of linguistic-cognitive research - reconstruction of the content of the concept. Dictionary definitions of words of different lexical-grammatical classes to indicate rivalry contain generic and specific semes as lexical units that implement the corresponding cognitive characteristics and are called slot terminals. The frame acts as a classifier of lexical units in which the components of the reference situation of rivalry are actualized. The semantic-cognitive analysis of lexemes that form the primary and secondary synonymous series and most adequately reflect the studied conceptual category precedes the modeling of the prototypical informative structure of the concept of rivalry in terms of frame semantics. Slot ACTION, which captures information about the actions of direct participants, is represented by units of the lexical-grammatical category to indicate the rivalry process. The studied slots reflect knowledge about the causal, instrumental, location and time components of the frame model. The studied slots are correlated with a group of cognitive features that represent knowledge about the characteristics of actions. Thus, the causal set activates data on the reasons for entering into a rival interaction, options for ending it. The instrumental set accumulates information about the nature of the action, tactics, strategic goal; the quantity and quality of the means of action, about the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the goal, its varieties. The location and time of the frame captures knowledge about the type of the place and spheres of action, the duration of the rivalry and the time of its implementation.

Abstract:
The subject of this work is to determine the ways in which students of Serbian as a foreign language, both philologists and non-philologists, construct sentences in written discourse at a beginner level. Our aim is to determine: (1) the sentence structure (simple, expanded, or compound sentences); (2) prepositional phrases of which they are comprised; (3) sentence informativeness; (4) types of word formation sentence constructions; (5) derivation of interrogative and negative sentence forms. The corpus consists of exit tests gathered at the end of the course Serbian as a foreign language at the Center for Serbian as a foreign language at the Faculty of Philology and Arts at the University of Kragujevac. The analysis of the corpus has shown that students of Serbian as a foreign language at a beginner level form simple, but informative sentences to the extent which enables them to complete basic communication processes. We will attempt to give methodical suggestions for the teaching practice which would contribute to the elimination of the errors made in the process of sentence formation, the usage of prepositional phrases, in the first place, and the process of the distribution of lexemes which comprise one sentence structure.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the study of the proper names of the literary heroes — important elements of an artistic work, means of creating an image. The names of literary heroes carry a semantic load, a number of hidden associations, as well as the expression of basic connotations (national, regional, social, chronological, emotional, and expressive). The writer's linguistic skill is directly related to the strategy of well-chosen character names. For many authors, this strategy is the leading one. Modern Ukrainian writer Volodymyr Lys is no exception. The goal is to study the proper names of the literary heroes that function in the novel "Bethlehem" by Volodymyr Lys. Our task is to reveal the information that is encrypted in the name of the hero and that forms the image. The triptych novel "Bethlehem" by Volodymyr Lys, consisting of three parts "Child", "Fire", "Home", is united by a symbolic title. The title of the novel, as well as the titles of each part, carry relevant information. It is proved that the proper names of the literary heroes that function in the novel by V. Lys are formed on the basis of real and invented anthroponyms, and their potential is limitless. The study of the proper names of the literary heroes of the novel made it possible to reveal the individual and stylistic features of the proper names of the characters, the creation of which is influenced by a wide variety of factors. The names of the characters, endowed with a wealth of stylistic functions and significant expressive possibilities, are an integral element of the literary text. Among the categories of the proper names of the literary heroes, names are the most frequent (names of gods, people of different historical periods, different anthroposystems, invented and real). It was found that the names of the main characters are informative and evaluative, they contain the shades of expression. We also investigated the originality of surnames, nicknames, and pseudonyms of literary heroes. Attention is drawn to a special type of the proper names of the literary heroes – abstract-onyms (abstract concepts that have become onyms). The article proves that the proper names of the literary heroes in the novel by V. Lys are important elements of his stylistics, while carrying information they are playing an active role in creating the general imagery of the work. Such information is contained in the pre-onym semantics of the basis of the proper name of the literary hero, it is revealed through the verbal author's characteristic of the hero, and is expressed by the basic connotations of the real anthroponym in its literary prototype.

Abstract:
Language is existence, just as existence is language, that is, these colateral phenomena are a reflection of every phenomenon in the process of evolution. The only difference is that language, in contrast to the chaotic movement of atoms in existence as space, contains cause and effect relationships, which implies not only the explanation of the processes taking place on Earth, but also the explanation of the consequences of all the changes in the world. Likewise, the very concept of "existence" changes according to the social structure of a concrete identity, changing at the same time the language itself. It is primarily about computer existence and its artificial language - emoji, which, in its turn, according to the expression plane, sends the user to the awareness and acceptance of the world as a gamer, in which not only expression of emotions is possible, but also the possibility of expressing thoughts with the help of emoji signs. All of the above mentioned was tracked and investigated through the prism of the Russian-Ukrainian war and its informative space (official and unofficial) on social networks (Facebook, Twitter) and channels (Telegram) with an emphasis on the emoji used by authors and readers of the contents. For this, we choose the philosophical category Sein für anderes ("being-for-another"), which significantly expands and complements the Heideggerian category "dasein" (Das Sein). The article states that the polilaterality of the emoji in the computer existence during the war and in the contents related to the war appeals to "being-for-another" as a phenomenological level that synthesizes the abstract (sensory) dimension of the existence of a person in the life of another one with a material (physical) dimension, when the psychological mechanism of the emphatic process, which is assumed by the concepts of "common", "own" in connection with grief, pain, loss, despair, etc. It acts in such a way that the state of the other is felt as the own state on the physical level. In accordance with the last maxim, it was concluded that the display of a sign language in emoji facilitates both the expression of a person's emotional state and its perception by the recipient, which distinguishes the main ousia category during the war: mutual understanding. In order to fully reflect the endogenous and exogenous features of the concept of "existence" and its transformation into a computer existence, the details of this concept were determined using the example of several languages: ancient Greek (as a substrate of the philosophical category of existence), Ukrainian, Spanish and German, so the German concept Sein für anderes was chosen as something that polilaterally (comprehensively, multivectorially) combines being-as-space and being-as-language.

Abstract:
The article analyses the title and dedication in the autobiographical paratext of the essay ‘Watermark’ by I. Brodsky. The study is driven by the research interest in the phenomenon of paratext relevant for modern philology as the border element of the literary text that sets the framework of the interpretation. The author of the article introduces the term ‘autobiographical paratext’ which broadens the classification of paratext proposed by Gerard Genette in 1982. It is proved that I. A. Brodsky’s autobiographical paratext is represented in the essay in both explicit and implicit forms. The explication of paratext is expressed in the use of a real name (artist Robert Morgan) and in the description of a real embankment in Venice (Fondamenta Degli Incurabili). The implication contains an informative out-of-text part – a dedication to a friend, extensive information about whom the reader obtains from autobiographical sources.

Abstract:
The Program of Two-way immersion is a form of integration students from two different groups and contemporary studying of two languages and subjects on these languages. The method as a method was appeared in Canada in the early 1960s. The program of TWI adherence to the following criteria: 1. The number of students is the same in two group; 2) groups gathered into one group according to the main subjects; 3) all main subjects are taught in two languages simultaneously. Two types of TWI program: 50\50; 90\10. This qualitative study aims to examine teachers’ views on the implementation the bilingual program into educational process of Kazakhstan. The literature review showed that Two-way immersion program is one of the innovative methods within the trilingual education of Kazakhstan, that not sufficiently studied and approved. It was hypothesized that TWI program makes an effect on trilingualism of Kazakhstan. For checking the awareness of this program, it was conducted an experimental work in Karaganda Buketov University, Kazakhstan. (103 teachers from the faculty of foreign languages, within five departments: Department of foreign philology; Foreign languages department; Department of translation theory and practice; Department of the theory and practice of foreign language training; Department of the practical foreign language course)The results demonstrate that this program is not sufficiently studied, becomes relevant in the educational process and informative, as well as to create the necessary methodological recommendations. The usage of TWI program improves the system of bilingual education in Kazakhstan, expands the level of professional readiness of teachers and students, develops high levels of academic competence and motivation.

The purpose of the article is to acquaint the dear reader with the life and work of the famous scientist–sociologist. This is not only informative, but also useful in the context of permanent attempts in society to introduce once again "revolutionary" changes in the system of training sociologists in universities [4]. After all, there were no Federal State Educational Standards, there was no system of university training of sociologists, but there were sociologists who ensured the resurrection of sociology in the country after the "Khrushchev thaw". They lived and worked in different cities of a large country, conducted sociological research, without having sociological professional training in universities. One of them, Professor Aitov N.A., being a philologist in a university specialty, became famous in the scientific community as the founder of the sociological scientific school. Since man is not given to embrace the immensity, the author of the article had to narrow his search appetite by the boundaries of what the life story of Prof. Aitova N.A. and his creative legacy.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to a relatively new genre of speech – self-presentation. The research is based on self-presentations of non-philological students of the geographical, sociological, biological faculties, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of Saratov National Research State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky and philologists studying at the Institute of Philology and Journalism. The purpose of the study is to identify the genre features of these texts. The multidimensional analysis of self–presentations revealed genre-forming features, the most typical cognitive models (scenarios) of self-presentation, which allow us to conclude that the student’s self-presentation is a synthetic speech genre pursuing informative, imperative, evaluative goals. It can also be attributed to the genre of reaction. The genre of self-presentation interacts with other speech genres, as a rule, self-presentation includes a call, a message, gratitude. Bachelors and specialists choose a strategy – the desire to please, to seem attractive to others, Master’s students – self-advertisement, self-promotion, proving their professional competence. The choice of these strategies is related to the basic characteristics that the author defines for himself as essential: for Master’s students this is a career, for bachelors and specialists – a family, in which they live, and positive personality qualities. The article presents an overview of the forms of students’ self-presentations. Examples of atypical self-presentation are poetic texts and fairy tales, in which verbal-logical and emotionally expressive elements of speech as means of influencing the audience. Irony, jokes, puns are successfully used in students’ self-presentations, but in general the degree of seriousness within the genre is very high, for the most part self-presentations are a variant of business communication. In the works of students of all faculties, except philologists, a rhetorical technique is productive and frequent – the use of quotations and references to the opinions of famous people, philologists use lyrical reflections.

Abstract:
Introduction. On the basis of a linguo-stylistic analysis of articles from English-language military journals, the authors study the language means of expressiveness of military publications, a deep knowledge of which allows the reader to understand not only the informative, but also the emotional element of their content. The aim of the work is to describe the variety and features of the use of linguistic means of expressiveness in modern English-language military publications.Material and methods. The authors studied dissertations and scientific articles in periodicals on the philology of Germanic languages over the past 10 years, as well as publications in such English-language military journals as Air Force News, Australian Defense Force Journal, Canadian Military Journal, Defense Turkey, Raider, covering the activities and state of the armed forces of Great Britain, the United States, Australia, Turkey, Canada and other states. General scientific methods of theoretical analysis, observation, generalization, and concretization are used. Results and discussion. A review of publications on the philology of Germanic languages over the past decade confirms the insufficient knowledge of the problems of the use of language means of expressiveness in English-language military publications and the relevance of conducting more in-depth research in this field of linguistics. Analysis of the content of English-language military journals indicates that military-political and scientific-technical styles dominate in articles of military orientation, although they also combine elements of artistic, conversational and advertising text, and the combination of elements of various functional styles in journalistic texts gives them not only typical features, but also expressiveness. The language means of expressiveness used in military publications can be divided into three groups: phonographic (alliteration, rhythm, morphological and lexical repetitions), lexical (epithets, metaphor, playing phraseological units, jargon) and syntactic (one-part sentences, emphatic constructions, inversion, antithesis, direct speech, quotation), the main function of which is to inform, attract attention, influence the reader, introduce certain psychological attitudes into his subconscious. Conclusion. In this paper, for the first time, the features of the use of language means of expressiveness in modern English-language military publications were analyzed. The results of the conducted research can be practically applied both for further theoretical study of the problem under consideration, and practically for improving the quality of foreign language education of cadets and students of military educational institutions within the framework of both the main training program and during training at military translators ‘ courses under the program of additional professional education.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to trace the act of communication of A. S. Pushkin’s poetic text in its pragmatic orientation; an act of emotive influence of the Russian language, Russian culture and manifestation of the Russian mentality in Pushkin’s works. The task is to find out: 1) the linguistic essence of the text; 2) extralinguistic orientations, taking into account: the author; the addressee (who are they – “To the Slanderers of Russia”); correlation with the historical, social and cultural context (Pushkin’s attitude to the Polish-Russian issue; Russian-French context (in particular); relations between Russia and the West (in general); provocativeness of the text in relation to liberal-minded compatriots. The article presents the text in linguodidactic consideration during classes on Russian as a foreign language with philology students; educational material has been developed for a practical course on intercultural communication, including co-study of the Russian language, history, literature and culture. Work on the text is carried out in the context of a communicative approach, revealing the informative, semantic and pragmatic essence of a literary text; Not only the “language technique” is studied, but also the culture of the country. In the process of working on a literary text, students get acquainted with the history of Russia, the mentality of the Russian people, reflect on problematic issues and communicative tasks – the desire and ability to “think for themselves” (critical thinking) is gradually formed, and the need arises to share thoughts in Russian. Philology students (3–4 years), analyzing the text, reflecting on it, learn to understand the processes taking place today in modern society - in the year of the 225th anniversary of the great Russian poet. Pushkin’s ingenious prophetic text, problematic issues, communicative tasks and line-by-line analysis of the text “To the Slanderers of Russia” help foreign students understand historical realities, teach them (“while their hearts are alive for honor”) to think critically, and therefore to prevent problems intercultural communication. The research materials were the theoretical works of scientists (linguists, methodologists, historians), reflection of many years of teaching experience at the university. Methods of complex analysis of text and discourse were used, as a result of which the pragmatic orientation of A. S. Pushkin’s ode was revealed – the “spirit” of the great Pushkin text and the “spirit” (albeit not strong in the knowledge of the history and culture of Russia, but searching, thinking) - the “spirit” of the reader. The emotive impact on the contemporaries of A. S. Pushkin, and us, reading these poems in the year of the 225th anniversary of the genius, is equally strong and provocative.

Abstract:
Introduction. Text interpretation problem is one of the most topical in up-to-date philology generally and in stylistics of text in particular. In this way the research of readers’ interpretative activity on the basis of experiments is of special interest, because it allows to judge steps of notional text explication in the addressee’s consciousness. The purpose of the article is to identify some patterns that are important for the interpretation activity of the collective addressee (reader) based on the methods of communicative stylistics of the text and its notional explication theory, developed in the context of this trend. Material and methods. Under the methodological base of communicative stylistics of text context and semanticstylistic analysis, a method of associative field of a key word’s modelling and experimental methodology are used in the article. It includes spare associative experiment as well as receptive experiment and modified methods of scaling by Ch. Osgud for detecting power of influence on collective addressee. Results and discussion. The research is done on the basis of experimental data on the reader’s perception of a verse “Light rain is tender, thin and delicate…” by O. E. Mandel’shtam with the use of the semantic explication theory, which is developed in the communicative stylistics of text, that realizes communicative and activity approach to the text. The theory of semantic explication of a text includes its lexical structure research, detecting of text notional paradigms of different types, their correlation, regulative means and structures analysis, textual associative field of a key word analysis versus associative field of this word, which is revealed during a spare associative experiment. Dependence of semantic explication of poetic text on its lexical structure of deductive type and author’s regulative means and structures, atributives as regulative text dominants and contrast as the main regulative method is determined in the article. Connection of interpretative readers activity (informants) with linguistic and extralinguistic aspects of pragmatic text level and its sublevels (figurative, emotional, ideal) is revealed on the basis of experimental methods. Experimental data verified the connection of the pragmatic level of the text with its informative and notional level. The factors that influence the relevant reading activities are identified. These factors are the following: author’s support to standard associations, which are stimulated by a key word, the role of lexical regulation in controlling of cognitive addressee’s of poetic text activity for revealing its deep sense. Conclusion. The introduced approach of researching interpretative readers’ of poetic text activity on the basis of its notional explication showed that the use of experimental methods with informants’ questioning makes it possible to judge about some regularities and steps of text’s and its elements’ influence on forming of common estimation and idea about text content, that readers have: the role of their informational thesaurus, ability to perceive not only deep, but also superficial sense. Dependence of a process of poetic text perception on its peculiarities – common regulative author’s strategy (explicit and implicit) and regulative means and structures and way of regulation – is detected.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Introduction. The high rate of development of the educational services market has led to increased competition. In view of this, educational institutions should improve the organisational and economic mechanisms of their activities, using a rational management and marketing approach in their activities Methods. The following methods were used to achieve the aim of the study: general - analysis and synthesis, study and generalisation of the existing experience of branding in education; descriptive method - for inventory, classification, systematisation and interpretation of proper names in synchrony; method of associative and conceptual analysis - to identify the dominant meanings of the names of general secondary education institutions; statistical method of establishing the frequency of use of a particular method of creating names; pragmatic analysis of communications - to reconstruct nominative strategies and motivations during the The survey method was used to identify the attitude of the heads of general secondary education institutions to the branding of educational institutions and to study the associations, emotions that the brand evokes in them, and the reflection of the brand essence in the name. Research results and their discussion. The stages of creating a name for an educational institution are considered. The most common methods of naming private general secondary education institutions are characterised. The most common are the associative method, which is based on building certain positive associations associated with the name of the institution, and the reference method. A classification of approaches to naming general secondary education institutions has been developed. The results of the study show that the names of pragmatic type prevail in modern names of educational institutions. Instead, the small number of non-pragmatic non-informative nominations is explained by the fact that in a highly competitive environment, names with a meaning that is not supported by an indication of the type of activity of the institution will not be remembered by the consumer. Prospects for further research on the names of educational institutions from the point of view of the communicative-functional approach are proposed.

Abstract:
The modern flow of information, the development of information technology produces new trends in communication between people at the various communication platforms. Social networks are becoming increasingly popular, forming a communicative space with specific models of communication. Social networks are ised as specific tools in different fields, that’s why the problems of development and properties of social networks, the peculiarities of communication among participants attract scientific interest. The aim of research is to characterize the communicative space on the example of such modern social networks as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram, TikTok, to determine the features of the communicative environment there. The study was based on a comprehensive methodology that involves a combination of general scientific methods such as analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, and highly specialized methods. The communication space is formed by the use of communication technologies that ensure interaction between participants. Communication in the modern world is increasingly shifting from a live format to an online, acquiring the following characteristics, such as virtuality, transience, multidimensionality, anonymity, alienation and awareness, etc. The most popular platforms for communication are social networks. Today, the most effective communication environment is created at Instagram, as the tools of this social network are actively expanding beyond photos and videos. For example, Instagram Stories, Broadcast Channels play an important role in the communication process. Facebook’s communication space is characterized by active interaction between individual communicators and communities/organizations., A person identifies with a community by the Page function. The desire to join to the communication process arises and it makes a polylogue and expands the communication environment. Interactions between communicators at Twitter will be brief but highly informative. Communication on this social network is based on retweets, comments, and reposts. The communication is carried out only in channels and communities in Telegram, as there are no some additional tools, text, photo, video messages are widely used. Live streams provide communication between the author of the content and other participants, creating a relaxed communication space at the popular TikTok network.

Abstract:
The article analyses adaptation in relation to key categories and concepts in translation studies. The aim of the article is to substantiate sociocultural and pragmatic adaptation as a distinct translation method in its intersections with translation models, foreignization and domestication strategies, paradigms in translation studies, the concept of dynamic equivalence, and the category of coherence. Pragmatic adaptation is related to the functional model of translation, according to which the translator is guided by institution-specified parameters of the target text, adapting the source text to the target-text purpose. Sociocultural adaptation correlates with the denotative model, using it in cases where the choice of translation variant is impossible without reference to the situational context presented in the source text, as well as with the communicative model, which includes various components of the extralinguistic context. Both types of adaptation align with the informative model of translation, oriented towards conveying different types of information from the source text—not only denotative but also connotative, sociocultural, pragmatic, and encyclopedic. In terms of translation typology, adaptation correlates with transcoding – achieving text equivalence by simplifying its structure and content to make the translated text more accessible to an audience lacking the necessary knowledge. It also aligns with communicative translation, which aims to achieve an effect on the target text readers equivalent to that of the source text. From the perspective of the main paradigms in translation studies, adaptation strategies correlate with the cultural paradigm in its cognitive-semantic and real-cultural dimensions. Adaptation is applied in cases of linguistic, cultural, conceptual-semantic, value-based, normative, contextual, and idiomatic non-equivalence. In translation adaptation, the translator can apply either foreignization or domestication, or combine both. When using the domestication strategy, the main techniques involve free, idiomatic or communicative translation, and actual adaptation. The concept of adaptation is related to the dynamic equivalence, as opposed to formal equivalence. From the perspective of cohesion and coherence categories reproduced in translation, adaptation correlates with co
