The article disputes the conclusions of Paolo d'Alessandro regarding two metra prototypa called into question in the discussion concerning the constitution of the text of the last verse of Persius' choliambi, as it appears in the critical edition of 2010 by Scivoletto – Zurli, and it mostly rejects the constitutio textus proposed by Paolo d’Alessandro who does not consider the handwritten position of the two readings nectar and melos included by him both in v. 14 with rhetorical and metric forcing. L'articolo confuta le conclusioni di Paolo d'Alessandro riguardanti due metra prototypa chiamati in causa nella discussione relativa alla costituzione del testo dell'ultimo verso dei choliambi di Persio, cosí come appare nell'edizione critica del 2010 di Scivoletto - Zurli, e soprattutto rifiuta la constitutio textus proposta da Paolo d'Alessandro che non considera la posizione manoscritta delle due letture nectar e melos da lui inserite entrambe nel v. 14 con forzature retoriche e metriche.

Abstract:
This article describes the work of Persatuan Islam (Persis) as an Islamic organization that was born in 1923 in Bandung. Exactly, like Muhammadiyah, is a reformer group in which it has a distinctive religious outlook, founding figures, and strategies to develop organizational symbols. However, unlike Muhammadiyah, including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), which is growing rapidly, Persis is experiencing delays, running slowly. This can be observed through at least three roles: political movements, cultural da'wah, and educational institutions. In this qualitative research based on library research, it is necessary to revitalize. It is necessary to evaluate and reflect on their work so far, starting with religious doctrine, distribution of cadres in the socio-political field, and the development of educational institutions. Abstract:
<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This present study discusses the boarding school-based regeneration in Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) organization formulated by KH. Endang Abdurrahman during the period of 1954-1983. Historical approach is employed in this study with qualitative descriptive model. It reveals that cadre management is culturally performed, where direct and personal relationship between teacher and students are formed. In its development, PERSIS regeneration is more organized through educational institution: Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) owned by PERSIS and courses for Muballigh or preacher. Historically, this reinforcement gained its momentum when PERSIS was led by KH. E. Abdurrahman from 1962 to1983.The system developed by Abdulrahman was yet exclusive and unintegrated with the national education system. Through such system, PERSIS was able to produce many religious scholars (muballigh and ustadz).</p><p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Kajian ini membahas regenerasi berbasis pondok pesantren dalam organisasi Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) yang dirumuskan oleh KH. Endang Abdurrahman selama periode 1954-1983. Pendekatan historis digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan model deskriptif kualitatif. Ini mengungkapkan bahwa manajemen kader dilakukan secara budaya, di mana hubungan langsung dan pribadi antara guru dan murid terbentuk. Dalam perkembangannya, regenerasi PERSIS lebih diselenggarakan melalui lembaga pendidikan: Pesantren PERSIS dan kursus untuk Muballigh. Secara historis, penguatan ini ketika PERSIS dipimpin oleh KH. E. Abdurrahman dari tahun 1962 hingga 1983, di mana sistem pendidikan eksklusif dan tidak terintegrasi dengan sistem pendidikan nasional. Organisasi modern Persis di lingkungan mahasiswa menjadi media transformatif gagasan-gagasan Persatuan Islam di kampus-kampus serta dapat mengembangakan produk produk intelektual kampus dalam upaya menunjang perjuangan Persis dimasa yang akan datang sesuai dengan tantangan pemikiaran yang lebih bersifat ilmiah dan intelektualis. Demi mewujudkan cita-cita dan harapan yang terdapat pada substansi mahasiswa dan organisasi induknya Persatuan Islam, maka Hima Persis mengambil ayat-ayat Ulul Albab sebagai falsafah dan pandangan hidup dalam gerakannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, karena metode ini dipandang lebih mampu menangkap berbagai informasi dengan kejelasan deskripsi yang lebih teliti dan penuh makna. Permasalahan yang diteliti dalam skripsi ini melihat bagaimana pemahaman dan implementasi indikator Ulul Albab kader Hima Persis STAI Persis Bandung dengan melakukan wawancara dan observasi untuk menjawab pertanyaan rumusan masalah sebagai berikut Pada penelitian kali ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman kader Hima Persis STAI Persis Bandung masih jauh untuk dikatakan paham secara sempurna. Adapun implementasi dari ayat-ayat Ulul Albab masih belum juga mencerminkan ciri-ciri Ulul Albab.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia menempati posisi yang cukup sentral dalam perkembangan mutu Pendidikan di MTs Persis 3 Pameungpeuk. Implementasi manajemen Sumber Daya Manusia tersebut terdiri dari proses rekrutmen, orientasi, penempatan, dan pengembangan guru dan tenaga Pendidikan. Hal tersebut dilakukan sebagai respon terhadap tuntutan zaman dan kebutuhan masyratakat terhadap standar lulusan dari MTs Persis 3 Pameungpeuk This article aims to provide a descriptive analysis of Human Resource Management at MTs Persis 3 Pameungpeuk. This article will analyze Human Resource management at MTs Persis 3 Pameungpeuk using an epistemological perspective of education. This study indicates that human resource management occupies a fairly central position in the development of the quality of education at MTs Persis 3 Pameungpeuk. The implementation of Human Resources management consists of recruitment, orientation, placement, and development of teachers and education personnel. This was done in response to the demands of the times and the community's needs for the standard of graduates from MTs Persis 3 Pameungpeuk.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah berdirinya Kerajaan Safawi di Persia, dan untuk mengetahui kondisi Persia pada masa Kerajaan Safawi serta untuk mengetahui peradaban Islam di Persia yang telah dibangun masa pemerintahan Kerajaan Safawi dan juga untuk mengetahui tokoh-tokoh pendiri Kerajaan Shafawi. Metode yang digunakan dalam Jurnal ini adalah studi literatur, yaitu dengan mengumpulkan data-data yang relevan, teori-teori sebagai pendukung jurnal ini agar lebih baik. Adapun langkah-langkahnya, meliputi heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Upaya yang telah dilakukan Kerajaan Shafawi dalam membangun peradaban Islam di Persia. Pada awal masa berdirinya, Safawi merupakan gerakan tarekat keagamaan yang bertujuan memerangi orang-orang ingkar dan ahli bid’ah. Lambat laun tarekat Safawi mulai memasuki gerakan politik, akhirnya pada tahun 1501 M berhasil mendirikan sebuah kerajaan. Pada dasawarsa pertama masa kekuasaannya, Kerajaan Safawi sukses melakukan ekspansi wilayah yang sangat luas. Prestasi memukau berhasil dicapai antara tahun 1588-1628, dengan ditunjukkan beberapa kemajuan dalam berbagai bidang. Hubungan Persia dengan Arab pada masa silam, telah menciptakan unsur baru dalam peradaban Islam di Persia. Ketika penaklukan bangsa Arab terhadap Persia, terjadi alkulturasi antara unsur Arab dengan unsur Persia. Alkulturasi tersebut nampak dari berbagai bentuk peradaban yang telah dibentuk. Meskipun peradaban tersebut sempat dihancurkan dengan adanya serangan Bangsa Mongol, namun berkat munculnya Kerajaan Safawi, peradaban Islam di Persia berhasil di bangun kembali. Bahkan Kerajaan Safawi dinobatkan sebagai salah satu kerajaan besar Islam.

Abstract:
Viking Persib is a supporter group of one of Indonesian football clubs, Persib. Its members are scattered in various regions in Indonesia, even abroad. With no fixity of the standard form of Viking Persib logo, it has made the logo visually expressed differently based on the interpretation of each region or the so-called district. This study finds the pattern of Viking Persib logo variants in representing their identity. The study was conducted using Stuart Hall’s representation and Roland Barthes’ semiotics that analyzes the expansion of the signs meanings. From the analysis, it can be concluded that from the variations of the Viking Persib logos in various districts, its identity shows violence atmosphere and aggressiveness. These variations are influenced by punk ideology embraced by the Central Viking. The similar visual patterns asserts that they are proud to be part of a subculture that is exposed on the wider stage through football. Viking Persib adalah kelompok suporter salah satu klub sepakbola di Indonesia, Persib. Jumlah anggotanya tersebar di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia, bahkan luar negeri. Tidak adanya ketetapan bentuk logo yang baku membuat logo Viking Persib memiliki tampilan dengan berbagai macam bentuk sesuai interpretasi masing-masing wilayah atau yang biasa disebut ‘distrik’. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola penandaan pada varian logo Viking Persib dalam merepresentasikan identitas salah satu kelompok suporter Persib tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan representasi Stuart Hall dan semiotika Roland Barthes yang menganalisis perluasan makna tanda. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari variasi logo Viking yang muncul di berbagai distriknya, identitas yang ditampilkan 37 oleh suporter Viking kental dengan nuansa kekerasan dan agresif. Nuansa ini tidak lepas dari pengaruh ideologi punk yang dianut oleh Viking Pusat. Keseragaman pola elemen visual menegaskan bahwa mereka bangga menjadi bagian dari sebuah subkultur yang terekspos dalam panggung yang lebih luas melalui sepakbola.

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dilaksanakan di kompleks militer di daerah Kariango, Kabupaten Maros, Sulawesi Selatan yang dikenal dengan Komando Strategi Angkatan Darat (Kostrad) Kariango. Namun pada IbM ini kami hanya fokus pada satu kompi yaitu kompi Markas yang ada di Batalion 432 Kostrad Kariango dalam memberikan pelatihan kerajinan tangan kepada ibu-ibu yang tidak memiliki aktifitas selain menjadi ibu rumah tangga dan menjadi ibu Persit yang memliki rutinitas setiap hari melayani kebutuhan suami dan anak serta sibuk mengikuti kegiatan olah raga, seni dan budaya yang ditentukan oleh pengurus persit yang ada di Kostrad Kariango. Kondisi yang telah lama terjadi di kalangan ibu-ibu persit kostrad kariango :a). Rutinitas yang hampir setiap hari sama, membuat ibu persit yang tidak memiliki aktifitas di luar asrama membutuhkan kegiatan lain. b). Kerajinan tangan seperti tas yang terbuat dari Tali Kur merupakan kerajinan yang bernilai postif dan dapat menghilangkan kejenuhan dari rutinitas yang flet. c). Banyaknya ibu persit yang menginginkan memiliki penghasilan sendiri dan tetap berada di rumah sebagai ibu rumah tangga yang baik untuk suami dan anaknya namun bingung bagaimana cara memulainya sehingga mereka sangat memerlukan pelatihan membuat kerajinan tangan yang bernilai ekonomi. (home industri). d). Keberadaan ilmu manajemen pemasaran produk sangat dibutuhkan. e). Dibutuhkan motivasi untuk menumbuhkan jiwa kreativitas dan inovasi untuk ibu-ibu persit. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut diantaranya adalah melakukan penyuluhan dan sosialisasi yang intens untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu-ibu persit dalam memproduksi tas dari tali kur dan perlunya di buat manajemen organisasi yang baik kepada ibu-ibu persit sebagai kelompok pembuat tas tali kur. Target luarannya adalah menumbuhkan jiwa kreativitas dan inovasi untuk ibu-ibu Persit kompi Markas yang ada di Batalion 432 Kostrad Kariango dan untuk mengintensifkan kembali anggota kelompok yang kurang aktif, serta sebagai upaya menarik simpati ibu persit yang lain untuk berpartisipasi dalam mengembangkan kerajinan tas dari tali kur.

Persia and Greece have engaged in a complicated relationship with war in the expansion of the territory. Persia was superior first because it was able to form strong empires and conquer cities around Asia and several cities in Europe. Greece managed to get rid of Persia, but it did not last long. Greece in ancient times consisted of many policies that competed with each other. The most famous policies of that period were Athens and Sparta. Both have advantages compared to other policies scattered in Greece. However, Athens and Sparta are two policies that compete with their respective strengths, causing disputes. Persia at that time had established good relations with Athens and Sparta. Persia found great opportunities to control Greece in the event of a war between Athens and Sparta. Persian interference in Greece was unavoidable which led to the Peloponnesian War which resulted in the conquest of Persia over Greece. Greece's downfall under the conquest of Persia did not last long. A unifying figure emerged in Greece that was able to embrace all policies and become the greatest king in history who had a vast conquest, both in the West and East. Alexander The Great was a king from the Kingdom of Macedonia in Greece who was able to unite all policies. Alexander invaded Persia to spread Hellenic culture.

Artikel ini bertujuan menjawab pertanyaan: bagaimana Pemikiran A. Hassan tentang talaq dan ruju’?; apa dasar pemikiran tentang Talaq dan Ruju’?; bagaimana pandangan ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS terhadap pemikiran A. Hassan tersebut?; bagaimana metode istinbat hukum ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS tersebut?; bagaimana implikasi pandangan ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS terhadap perkembangan hukum perkawinan Islam di Indonesia?. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitiannya diperoleh melalui interview para ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS. Menunjukan pertama, menurut A. Hassan perkawinan adalah akad untuk menghubungkan antara laki-laki dan perempuan menjadi suami-istri atas keridhaan bersama, sedangkan talaq adalah akad memutuskan hubungan suami-istri dalam perkawinan, bukan meregangkan. Adapun ruju’ adalah kembalinya mantan suami kepada mantan istrinya pada masa iddah dengan melakukan nikah kembali; kedua, dasar pemikiran A. Hassan tentang talaq dan ruju’ adalah langsung pemahamannya sendiri terhadap alquran dan hadis yang berkaitan dengan hal tersebut. ; ketiga, para ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS berbeda pendapat terhadap pemikiran A. Hassan, ada yang menyetujuinya dan ada yang menyalahinya. Akan tetapi, para ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS sepakat bahwa dalam ruju’ harus ada keridhaan istri pula; ketiga, metode istinbat hukum ulama dewan hisbah PERSIS adalah menggali langsung dari alquran dan hadis dengan menggunakan usul fiqih yang sudah ditetapkan para ulama.

AbstrakGuru Madrasah Aliah (MA) Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami perhitungan matematika dalam ilmu Falak khususnya terait masalah dalam menentukan arah kiblat, sehingga sangat dibutuhkan suatu program yang dapat membantu pemahaman guru-guru tersebut. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung menyelenggarakan suatu program dengan tujuan mengatasi kesulitan guru-guru dalam memahami konsep-konsep matematika untuk menyelesaikan masalah Ilmu Falak di Madrasah Aliah PERSIS di Jawa Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah CBR (Community Based Research). Kegiatan PkM ini diikuti oleh 50 orang guru dan melibatkan steakholder yang ada di Pimpinan Pusat (PP) PERSIS. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan PkM dapat meningkatkan pemahaman matematis guru-guru MA PERSIS dalam menyelesaikan masalah terkait Ilmu Falak khususnya menentukan arah kiblat.AbstractTeachers of Madrasah Aliah (MA) PERSIS have difficulty in understanding mathematical calculations in Ilmu Falak, especially related to problems in determining the direction of Qibla, so it is needed a program that can help the understanding of these teachers. The Community Service Program of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung held a program with the aim of overcoming the difficulties of teachers in understanding mathematical concepts to solve the problem of Ilmu Falak in the Islamic School of PERSIS in West Java. The method used is CBR (Community Based Research). This PkM activity was attended by 50 teachers and involved steakholders in the Pimpinan Pusat (PP) PERSIS. Diagnosa penyakit kucing persia bertujuan untuk menentukan keputusan saat melakukan suatu tindakan untuk mengobati penyakit tertentu yang ada pada kucing persia. Umumnya diagnosa penyakit kucing persia ini hanya bisa dilakukan oleh dokter hewan yang ahli di bidangnya. Ditemukannya kecerdasan buatan di dunia komputer membuat hal tersebut lebih mudah dilakukan. Penggunaan kecerdasan buatan dapat menjadi pemecahan masalah dan alat bantu bagi orang awam dan ahli pakar untuk dapat mengambil keputusan untuk setiap kondisi yang mungkin belum atau jarang terjadi sebelumnya. Kombinasi dari basis pengetahuan dan mesin inferensi berdasarkan metode certainty factor dapat menghasilkan sebuah aplikasi diagnosa penyakit pada kucing persia.. Certainty Factor digunakan sebagai metode yang dapat menunjukkan tingkat kepercayaan terhadap suatu diagnose yang terjadi dengan angka kepercayaan. Penerapan Certainty Factor pada basis aturan menghasilkan keputusan yang memiliki rasio probabilitas dan menunjukkan semua penyakit yang mungkin terjadi pada suatu kejadian yang dialami oleh kucing Persia. Pada perancangan aplikasi sistem pakar ini user dapat memilih pertanyaan mengenai gejala-gejala yang sudah dialami oleh kucing Persia, lalu output yang dihasilkan adalah tingkat kepercayaan, kemungkinan penyakit kucing Persia yang dialami, serta penjelasan mengenai obat dan solusi cara mengatasi penyakit kucing tersebut. Dari hasil pengujian, diperoleh hasil 100% fungsionalitas berjalan sesuai dengan kebutuhan sistem. Pada pengujian Akurasi didapatkan nilai akurasi yang sangat baik yaitu sebesar 90% dari 10 data sampel yang ada.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This article discusses the thesis written by Howard M. Federspiel on the conflict between Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) and Permoefakatan Islam. This present study employed the historical methods of heuristic, historical critic, interpretation, historiography to examine Federspiel’s thesis by pointing out the new facts related to the initial history of PERSIS and its relationship with Permoefakatan Islam. It reveals that Permoefakatan Islam was not part of PERSIS. It was an entirely separate organization established in 1924 to accommodate the aspirations of the old and young generations. It was not a reaction due to presence of A. Hassan in PERSIS. PERSIS’s reformist character had always been there since its establishment as an organization, and A. Sirsak merupakan tanaman tahunan yang dapat tumbuh dan berbuah sepanjang tahun jika kondisi air tanah terpenuhi selama pertumbuhannya. Di dalam tanaman ini terkandung senyawa acetogenins yang bermanfaat. Senyawa ini tidak hanya terkandung pada buah, tetapi juga hampir seluruh bagian pada tanaman sirsak baik itu daun, batang, akar maupun bijinya. Kandungan acetogenins yang ada pada ekstrak daun sirsak dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai insektisida nabati yang ramah lingkungan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan uji potensi ekstrak daun sirsak sebagai insektisida kutu daun persik (Myzus persicae, Sulz). Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian jenis eksperimen kuantitaif dengan menggunakan analisis uji proporsi. Analisis ini digunakan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar potensi ekstrak daun sirsak sebagai insektisida kutu daun persik. Dari hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa ekstrak daun sirsak (Annona muricata, L) memiliki potensi sebagai insektisida kutu daun persik. Kekuatan aktivitas ekstrak daun sirsak terhadap kutu daun persik mencapai 100% pada konsentrasi 8% dan 10%. Potensi dari ekstrak daun sirsak sebagai insektisida kutu daun persik termasuk sangat tinggi yaitu 100%.

<p>This study focuses on the discussion of puritanisme movement in Sapeken islands Sumenep-Madura. As it is known that the area of Madura is a very loyal tradisional Islamic support base. But especially in the Sapeken islands, the puritanical Islamic can actually thrive. The purpose of this study is to know the process of development of the puritanitanism movement (Persis). This study also attempts to answer the question of why puritanical islamic is capable of developing in the Sapeken islands. Using the protestant ethic of Max Weber, it can be seen that the entry of the puritanism movement (Persis) is base on the socio-religious conditions of society which are still considered far from the pure Islamic teachings. Therefore (Persis) perform purification of tradisional Islamic traditions and lokal art that still contains elements of <em>takhayul, bid`ah dan khurafat, </em>with the aim of returing the ummah to the teachings of the qur`an and sunnah. Throgh education institutions, Persis instilling a puritan ideology to the people, in addition, Persis in the Sapeken islands became more dominant religious organization, evident from the development of more rapid educational institutions due to the high work ethic of puritan muslims (Persis).</p>

Insistimos en la defensa de nuestra conjetura “tíos” frente al término “años”, que se lee en el endecasílabo segundo del soneto. Se responde a las objeciones de las que ha sido objeto esta propuesta. Se comenta y explica todo el soneto con una detenida comparación entre los textos de los poetas Persio y Quevedo, y se deja claro que Quevedo en este obscuro soneto recrea, con la libertad que les es propia a los poetas, unos versos de la sátira segunda de Persio. ABSTRACT: In this work we return to Quevedo's sonnet "Oh fallezcan...", which starts from some verses of the second satire of the Latin poet Persio. We insist on the defense of my conjecture "tíos" against the term "años", which is read in the second hendecasyllable of the sonnet. Latin literature would be the poorer if the Satires of Persius had not survived. Many of course do not like his work because of a certain perceived incoherence or lack of shape or unity in his Satires, and many are of the opinion that their author was a student of books rather than of life: ‘an ideal example of an arrogant and spiritless young man wrapped up in poetry.’ As a merely academic poet, it is believed, Persius could do no more than depend heavily on poets who had gone before, and especially on Horace, reminiscences of whose work thickly lace the lines of Persius' satires. Furthermore, it is widely believed, Persius' ideas and the language in which they are expressed are often so obscure that it is impossible to interpret their meaning. The poet openly espoused a system he called iunctura acris, ‘the harsh collocation’ or ‘the surprising or illogical collocation’, by which he referred to a certain harsh, even violent, yoking together of ideas or images or words. The recent and most useful commentary by R. A. Harvey consistently interprets phrases by identifying them directly as iunctura acris, and a count of the occasions this definition is utilised (or resorted to) would be instructive. Persius' iunctura acris is evidently based on Horace's well-known callida iunctura, ‘the clever collocation’ (AP 47f.); but the changes wrought by Persius on this ‘shared’ phrase unequivocally mark the special characteristics of Persius' poetry, which are a sharp ferocity of expression and a certain aggressively extravagant imagination.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat daya tahan VO2max pada pemain Sepakbola Persik Usia 20 Tahun. Dalam penelitian ini pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik penelitian menggunakan survey, sedangkan teknik mengambil datanya menggunakan tes pengukuran. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 25 pemain Sepakbola Persik Usia 20 Tahun dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu sampling jenuh sejumlah 25 pemain. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah menggunakan survey tes dan pengukuran daya tahan aerobik menggunakan beep test. Hasil penelitian hasil tes lari multitahap pada pemain persik usia 20 tahun secara keseluruhan dengan prediksi VO2max dilakukan dari sebanyak 25 pemain yang mendapat kategori sangat baik 7 pemain, kategori baik sebanyak 15 pemain, dan pada kategori sedang sebanyak 3 pemain. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh adalah 49,67 pada kategori baik. Hasil ini menyimpulkan bahwa 25 pemain persik usia 20 tahun daya tahan (VO2max) pada kategori baik. Hasil Tes ini dapat memberikan pengetahuan bagaimana kondisi kapasitas daya tahan paru-paru atau Vo2max yang dimiliki pemain Persik usia 20 tahun, sehingga para staf pelatih dapat memberikan bentuk latihan yang sesuai kondisi pemain tersebut.

This research describes the phenomenon of contestation between the religious sects of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah and Islamic Unity/ Persatuan Islam (Persis) in Sapeken, Sumenep-Madura and economy strategy played by Persis as the majority in the midst of NU's domination. This research is unique because of several reasons, 1) Sumenep-Madura is the basis of NU and Muhammadiyah, 2) Persis is able to shift those two religious organizations. In several studies, the Madurese community is more highlighted with nuances of nahdliyin, but the depiction of conditions in Sapeken is different and inversely proportional. Therefore the current researcher offers a synthesis by raising the idea that Persis's power lies in the politic-economy strategy. In order to be more systematic, this research used qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach. The data taken was only primary sources by involving directly to the field through interview techniques and non-participatory observation. The data were later analyzed. A number of essential results were found, first, the strategy used to shift the traditionalist religious sects was perusing the parts of the people-base economy unempowered by NU and Muhammadiyah. Second, the religious-based politic-economy played by Persis controled the micro-macro economic development. Third, the structures controlled as a form of religious-political economy were economic and educational aspects. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan fenomena kontestasi aliran keagamaan Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah dan Persatuan Islam (Persis) di Sapeken, Sumenep-Madura dan strategi ekonomi yang dimainkan oleh Persis sebagai mayoritas di tengah dominasi NU. Penelitian ini unik karena beberapa alasan, 1) Sumenep-Madura adalah basis NU dan Muhammadiyah, 2) Persis mampu menggeser kedua organisasi keagamaan tersebut. Dalam beberapa penelitian, masyarakat Madura lebih ditonjolkan dengan nuansa nahdliyin, namun penggambaran kondisi di Sapeken berbeda bahkan berbanding terbalik. Untuk itu peneliti saat ini menawarkan sintesa dengan mengangkat gagasan bahwa kekuatan Persis terletak pada strategi ekonomi politik yang dimainkan. Agar lebih sistematis, penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif. Data yang diambil hanya sumber primer dengan terjun langsung ke lapangan melalui teknik wawancara dan observasi non partisipatif. Setelah itu, langkah-langkah menganalisis data, ditemukan beberapa hasil penting, yaitu pertama strategi yang digunakan untuk menggeser aliran keagamaan tradisionalis dengan menyisir bagian-bagian ekonomi kerakyatan yang belum tersentuh oleh NU dan Muhammadiyah. Kedua, politik ekonomi berbasis agama yang dimainkan Persis mengontrol sisi pembangunan mikro-makro ekonomi. Ketiga, struktur yang dikuasai sebagai bentuk ekonomi politik keagamaan adalah aspek ekonomi dan aspek pendidikan.

Within the last generation there has been a vast outpouring of scholarship on the characteristics of British imperial policy in the latter half of the nineteenth century. The older orthodoxy that the mid-Victorian years were dominated by a commitment to laissez faire and free trade has been demolished. In the new era scholars quarrel over how “imperial” was “informal empire.” This article is not intended to add to this controversy, but rather to provide insight into the character of British policy in one area, Persia, during the last quarter of the nineteenth century, with particular emphasis on American efforts to build railways and British responses to this attempted intrusion into an exclusive British-Russian sphere of influence.For both Russia and Britain Persia had great strategic significance. Like Afghanistan, “the walls of the Indian garden,” Persia was important primarily in relation to the defense of the Indian Empire. Russian expansion to the borders of Persia, a weak state, posed the threat that the country would fall under Russian influence and what had been a buffer would become a menace.British interest in Persia thus involved a strong strategic component which affected economic policy. Unlike Afghanistan it was seen as a promising market for British goods, particularly if transportation to the interior of Persia could be opened up on the Karun River and if British capital could be attracted to build a network of railways which could be a further basis for controlling the Persian economy and thus contributing to British influence at the Persian court. At the same time Britain was determined to thwart Russian plans for railways in the north which could be used to transport troops to the borders of Persia and eventually beyond. Each power assumed the malevolent intent of the other and each was determined to frustrate these foul plans.

The established perception that early modern English satirists imitated either Juvenal or Horace has left the reception of Persius under-explored. This paper demonstrates with particular reference to the ‘Prologue’ to Satire 1 that early modern writers were eager to engage the Roman poet, indeed more eager to adapt Persius than merely imitate him. Persius is less easy to detect, being so often more creatively interwoven with English poets’ own concerns, than the other two Roman satirists. What makes his satiric presence among these authors unique is the variety of modulations.

In general, social media is used to make friends and connect with relatives in parts of the world. But now social media is used as a medium to get information in the field of sports. Instagram is a platform that is currently widely used by the public to get information, especially in sports and football clubs. One of these factors made Simamaung use Instagram as information media. Simamaung is a fan site and information media that reports about the Persib Bandung football club. In addition to reporting information about the development of Persib Bandung, Simamaung has a difference with other Persib bandung information media by providing information about the statistics of players, coaches and clubs. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of Instagram social media Simamaung with the fulfillment of followers' information needs about Persib Bandung. The method used is a quantitative correlational method with descriptive analysis and inferential analysis techniques. The study population is followers of Instagram Simamaung (@simamaungcom) with a total sample of 100 samples. The technique used to take samples is the Simple Random Sampling technique. The theory used is the theory of Uses and Gratifications. The results showed that there was a significant and moderate relationship between the use of Instagram social media Simamaung with the fulfillment of followers' information needs about Persib Bandung. Abstrak. Perkembangan teknologi informasi semakin mengalami peningkatan, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan media sosial. Pada umunya, media sosial digunakan untuk mencari teman dan menguhubungkan dengan kerabat di belahan dunia. Namun saat ini media sosial dimanfaatkan sebagai media untuk mendapat informasi di bidang olahraga. Instagram adalah sebuah platform yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh khalayak untuk mendapat informasi terutama dalam bidang olahraga dan klub sepakbola. Salah satu faktor tersebut membuat Simamaung menggunakan Instagram sebagai media informasi. Simamaung merupakan sebuah fan site dan media informasi yang memberitakan seputar klub sepakbola Persib Bandung. Selain memberitakan informasi seputar perkembangan Persib Bandung, Simamaung mempunyai perbedaan dengan media informasi Persib bandung lainnya dengan memberikan informasi seputar statistik pemain, pelatih dan klub. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan media sosial Instagram Simamaung dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi followers mengenai Persib Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Populasi penelitian merupakan followers dari Instagram Simamaung (@simamaungcom) dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 sampel. Abstrak Nashiruddin Shah merupakan penguasa keempat dari Dinasti Qajar yang memerintah Persia (sekarang Iran) selama 48 tahun yakni dari 1848 hingga 1896. Melalui metode penelitian sejarah dengan langkah-langkahnya yakni heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan penyajian berbentuk historiografi, penelitian ini berusaha mengungkap peristiwa-peristiwa penting yang terjadi di Persia dalam rentang waktu kekuasaannya hingga tahun 1857. Hasil riset ini menemukan sejumlah kejadian yang tergolong krusial di masa itu yakni terbunuhnya tokoh reformis Perdana Menteri Amir Kabir karena usahanya dalam memberangus korupsi, meskipun ia sangat berperan dalam menjamin Nashiruddin naik takhta dan reformasi kemiliterannya membuat Qajar berhasil menundukkan pemberontakan Salar (1851) dan kerusuhan Babiyah (1852). Bagaimanapun, akibat intervensi Inggris, Persia juga harus menanggung kehilangan klaimnya atas wilayah Afghanistan, pendudukan Inggris atas Bushehr hingga tahun 1913, dan melepaskan Khorramshahr / Mohammerah yang lalu berdiri sebagai wilayah otonomi independen. Kurun waktu tersebut (1848-1857) relatif memengaruhi corak kebijakan Nashiruddin untuk masa-masa berikutnya yang tetap dipengaruhi isu-isu reformasi internal, gerakan perlawanan rakyat, dan intervensi asing. Kata Kunci: Dinasti Qajar, Nashiruddin Shah, Persia Abstract Nashiruddin Shah was the fourth ruler of Qajar Dynasty who ruled Persia (Iran in present times) for 48 years since 1848 until 1896. Historical research method is deployed through its steps such as heuristic, critics, interpretation, and historiography, due to reveal important occurances in Persia during his reign until the year of 1857. The research proves some important events which are considered as crucial, in example was assassination of the first Nashiruddin’s Prime Minister, a reformist named Amir Kabir caused by his action to eradicate corruption problem, even though he had big role in Nashiruddin ascension to the throne, and Amir’s military reforms had an impact on the defeats of Salar Rebellion (1851) and Babis Riots (1852). However caused by British intervention, Persia had to lose her claim over Afghanistan’s region, occupation of Bushehr by British until 1913, and surrendered Khorramshahr / Mohammerah which later proclaimed as an independent autonomous region. These years (1848-1857) would relatively determine the pattern of his policies in following years that full of some issues such as internal reforms, civil resistance movements, and foreign interventions. Abstract. Traces of Persian Culture at Barrus. From the middle of the first millenium C.E., or even before, Barus has been known as a trading mart for camphor and gold.Archaeological researches conducted in Barus from 1995 until 2005, as part of the cooperation program between The National Research and Development Centre of Archaeology, Indonesia and École française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO), highlight the ancient relation between Persia and the Indonesia archipelago.A number of artefacts coming for Persia, made of stone and glass, as well as pottery, were collected during the excavations of the Lobu Tua site (mid-9th c.-end of the 11th c). Although analyses of the finds collected during the excavations at the Bukit Hasang site ( 12th c- beg. of the 16th c.) arenot completed yet, it is clear that at that time Barus experienced a great decline in the use of objects made of permanent material coming from the Middle East. But two inscribed tombstones, dating to the end of the 14th c. and to beginning of the 15th c, using Persian language or grammar prove that relation with Persia were not completely severed.Abstrak. Barus terkenal dari Asia Barat sampai Cina sebagai tempat perdagangan kuno untuk kamper dan emas sejak paling tidak pertengahan milenium pertama Masehi. Penelitian arkeologi yang telah dijalankan dari tahun 1995 hingga tahun 2005 di Barus, dalam rangka kerjasama Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Arkeologi Nasional dengan École française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO), menunjukkan hubungan yang berlangsung lama antara Persia dan Nusantara.Ekskavasi di situs Lobu Tua khususnya menghasilkan sejumlah artefak asal Persia dari batu dan kaca, serta sejumlah pecahan tembikar yang dipakai di Barus antara pertengahan abad ke-9 M dan akhir abad ke-I 1. Walaupun analisis mengenai hasil penggalian di situs Bukit Hasang (abad ke-12 hingga awal abad ke-16) belum selesai, sudah jelas bahwa pemakaian benda-benda permanen asal wilayah Timur Tengah pada umumnya menurun drastis di situs tersebut dibandingkan dengan Lobu Tua. Tetapi dua batu nisan dari akhir abad ke-14 dan awal abad ke-15, yang bertuliskan bahasa Persia atau menggunakan tata bahasa Persia, merupakan bukti bahwa hubungan dengan Persia tidak putus sama sekali.

This article examines problems of selling Russian sugar in Persia towards the end of the Russian Empire’s existence during the first decades of the 20th century. The article clarifies Russian sugar exporters’ achievements and what problems they faced promoting their products on the Persian market. The source base made it possible to establish the dynamics of export indicators, the specifics of the price situation, and consumers’ demands in Persia for this period. The author examines the peculiarities of the sale of Russian sugar in the northern and southern regions of the country and the competitive advantages of the two rival powers, Russia and France. Special attention is paid to the issue of sugar sales in Persia during World War I: problems faced by sugar exporters and the project to introduce a sugar monopoly in Persia. The analysis leads to conclusions about the dynamic development of Russian sugar exports to Persia. Thanks to the simultaneous efforts by the Russian government and Russian business circles, the Russian Empire was able to monopolize the North Persian sugar market and achieve certain gains in the markets of southern Persia. A decisive role in this matter was played by the government’s initiative, thanks to which a regular sea connection with the ports of the Persian Gulf was established, as well as the opportunity to sell Russian sugar at competitive prices. It is also important that government measures were carried out in parallel with the growing activity of Russian entrepreneurs, who were engaged in the production and export of sugar to the large Middle East market.

Unstable slopes create numerous problems for forest management and may destroy the road network and disturb access to forest. Soil bioengineering is a solution that can prevent these problems and reinforce the hillslope. Persian ironwood is considered as a good protective species for hillslope stability in Iran with an extensive lack of information about biotechnical properties. In this research the root strength of this species and also the relation between root diameter and cellulose content were investigated. The results showed that the mean tensile force and tensile strength were 99.70 &plusmn; 2.01 N and 173.23 &plusmn; 4.94 MPa, respectively, for the root diameter range between 0.22 and 3.78 mm. The results of ANOVA showed that the power models between root diameter and tensile force and tensile strength were statistically significant and the results of t-test showed that coefficients and constants of the models are also significant. The values of the parameters of the power law (&alpha; and &beta;) obtained for Persian ironwood do not fall in the range that has already been suggested for hardwood roots, which may be due to a narrow diameter range. The mean cellulose content was 56.87 &plusmn; 5.79% and the relationship between root diameter and cellulose content was not statistically significant. The data presented in this study expand the knowledge of biotechnical properties of Persian ironwood and support the idea that there is still an extensive lack of information about plant roots as a bioengineering material. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Abstract:
One of the important issues both in the political discussion about climate change and in forest ecosystem research is carbon sequestration. In this paper, we estimated soil carbon sequestration (SCS) in two Persian oak forest stands of different origin (seed and coppice). Soil samples were taken at two soil depths (0–15 and 15–30 cm) and locations (under the tree crown and open area) in each oak stand. Results showed that surface layers (0–15 cm) had the highest soil carbon sequestration ranging from 41.2 t·ha–1 to 47.9 t·ha–1 for both oak forests. The total SCS was higher (between 79.5 and 89.07 t·ha–1) in open areas of the two forest stands than under the crowns of oak trees. Finally, the amount of total SCS in seed originated forest (SOF) (86.52 t·ha–1) was significantly greater (P &lt; 0.05) than in coppice forest (CF) (77.70 t·ha–1). The results indicate that a relatively large proportion of C loss in CF is due to overgrazing, forest degradation and conversion to coppice forests in the study area.

Abstract:
The main issue the article considers is the transit of European goods through the territory of the Russian Empire to Persia in the form of lightweight postal parcels in the beginning of the 20th century. The main objectives of the research include defining the impact of existing practice on the Russian trade in Persia in conditions of high competition between Russian and foreign exporters; finding out how the government representatives and Russian entrepreneurs, sending goods to Middle-East market, saw the existing situation. The author showed that there were some disagreements on transit of European postal parcels to Persia between the government officials and Russian entrepreneurs. Starting from 1905, when the two states joined the international Washington Convention, the disagreements were the most obvious during the first years after the transit launch. Both sides regarded its impact on the Russian trade as negative. However, while government representatives related the situation to inactivity of the Russian merchant class, the latter pointed to existing drawbacks in the operation of transit system. By 1913, the Russian government acknowledged the necessity of limiting the flow of European parcels to Persia, but they did not make up their mind to stop the transit completely for restoring the monopoly of the Russian trade in the north of Persia.

The focus of this research is on the people of Talang Harapan, Kotabumi, North Lampung, whose cultural life and religious understanding are still tied to the traditions of their ancestors. Their religious understandings have been experiencing friction with da'wah movement of Islamic Union (Persatuan Islam; PERSIS) which is critical of occultism and local traditions, especially talking about the mixing of culture and religion. Through a new ethnographic method based on qualitative descriptive method, this study shows an alternative da'wah of Islamic Union that utilizes the "development of religion of bil hal" by providing free health services of cupping therapy that becomes a new medium for community's acceptance towards the presence of PERSIS da'wah.Fokus penelitian ini pada masyarakat Talang Harapan, Kotabumi Lampung Utara yang budaya kehidupan dan pemahaman keagamaannya masih terikat dengan tradisi nenek moyang. Pemahaman keagamaan masyarakat Talang Harapan ini mengalami gesekan dengan gerakan dakwah Persatuan Islam (PERSIS) yang kritis terhadap praktik okultisme dan tradisi lokal, khususnya berbicara tentang percampuran budaya dan agama. Melalui metode etnografi baru yang berbasis deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menunjukkan dakwah alternatif PERSIS yang mengambil pendekatan “pengembangan agama bil hal” dengan memberikan pelayanan kesehatan terapi bekam gratis menjadi suatu media baru penerimaan masyarakat Talang Harapan terhadap kehadiran dakwah PERSIS.

Ernst Badian has argued that it would have been ideologically unacceptable for the great king of Persia to submit to negotiations with Athens and to bind himself by oath to the resulting Peace of Callias. This interpretation, however, is the result of the later Greek conception of the Peace of Callias as an Athenian victory over Persia, and the Peace of Antalcidas as a Persian humiliation of Greece. In this paper, I argue that the Achaemenid kings of Persia inherited notions of kinship, empire, and diplomacy from their Neo-Assyrian predecessors, and therefore saw treaties as an honorable and legitimate tool of empire.

AbstractTibullus and Persius are characteristic examples of poets who in their programmatic poems take a stance as to the literary juxtaposition of rusticitas and urbanitas and side with the first. Thus, they express their opposition to the mores of urban society and support the rustic way of life, which points to moral probity, simplicity, frugality, an unaffected style, Roman thematology, an indifference towards praise and heroic action. Persius' views could be associated with Propertius' latent attack against Tibullus' rusticitas and can be interpreted as disagreement with Propertius' urbanitas. It is possible that in this way Persius expresses his disappointment in the replacement of some elegiac motifs of the past with elegidia and of the frugal, 'poor' Tibullus with the crudi proceres, who are praised in the aula Neroniana. Therefore, the fact that Persius is siding with Tibullus in his dispute with Propertius could suggest a poetic model more similar to his own.
