Context: vitiligo with a unique location in the penis is a rare entity. Presentation of the case: A 34-year-old man who presented himself in our training, he complained of a whitish plaque on his penis. The physical examination showed an achromic macule on the level of the penis, with a catch of contrast in light of Wood. A skin biopsy of the dorsal surface of the penis showed a total absence of melanocytes and melanin granules in the basal layer.

ABSTRACT Activation of the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) promoter by the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) is associated with a chromatin structural transition in the B nucleosome region of the viral long terminal repeat (LTR). Recent evidence indicates that this transition extends upstream of the B nucleosome, encompassing a region larger than a single nucleosome (G. Fragoso, W. D. Pennie, S. John, and G. L. Hager, Mol. Cell. Biol. 18:3633–3644). We have reconstituted MMTV LTR DNA into a polynucleosome array using Drosophila embryo extracts. We show binding of purified GR to specific GR elements within a large, multinucleosome array and describe a GR-induced nucleoprotein transition that is dependent on ATP and a HeLa nuclear extract. Previously uncharacterized GR binding sites in the upstream C nucleosome region are involved in the extended region of chromatin remodeling. We also show that GR-dependent chromatin remodeling is a multistep process; in the absence of ATP, GR binds to multiple sites on the chromatin array and prevents restriction enzyme access to recognition sites. Upon addition of ATP, GR induces remodeling and a large increase in access to enzymes sites within the transition region. These findings suggest a dynamic model in which GR first binds to chromatin after ligand activation, recruits a remodeling activity, and is then lost from the template. This model is consistent with the recent description of a “hit-and-run” mechanism for GR action in living cells (J. G. McNally, W. G. Müller, D. Walker, and G. L. Hager, Science 287:1262–1264, 2000).

Abstract:
Introduction: Superficial dorsal penile vein rupture is a rare penile emergency that mimics penile fracture. Many times, diagnosis will be uncertain as they both have similar symptoms and signs. Delay in treatment of penile fracture can lead to long-term sequelae like erectile dysfunction and thus prompt diagnosis and treatment are required. Case Report: We report a case of a 35-year-old male patient with acute penile swelling and ecchymosis which developed during sexual intercourse suggesting penile fracture. Surgical exploration revealed rupture of superficial dorsal penile vein and no corporal injury. Hematoma was evacuated and vein was ligated. The patient had a good prognosis and reported maintained erectile function. Conclusion: Superficial dorsal penile vein rupture is a rare penile emergency which usually has similar clinical features of penile fracture and hence called false penile fracture. If diagnosis is uncertain, surgical exploration is recommended for definitive diagnosis and to prevent potential long-term sequelae of untreated penile fracture.

Packing pennies onto a piece of paper provides perplexing problems for students to ponder. To set the stage for students to gain insight into penny-packing problems, we suggest that you provide groups of students with small sheets of paper and an ample supply of pennies. At the start of the investigation, a quarter of a standard-size 8.5 in.- by-11 in. sheet of paper is sufficient for each group. Ask the groups to cover their paper completely with pennies. Students typically choose one of the covering patterns shown in figure 1 and figure 2. As part of the task, students should determine the number of pennies needed to completely cover the paper using each pattern. The penny-packing problem is, Which pattern guarantees the most pennies on the page?

Abstract:
The introduction of a Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India in 2017 not only impacted the economy, but also altered the contours of fiscal federalism in India. Amongst other indicators, the steady growth of GST revenue has been a robust barometer of the success of the reform. This paper delves into the trends of GST collections to evaluate the efficacy of the reform to generate revenue. Subsequently, an attempt is made to answer the questions – what drives revenue growth, and are the collections, collection efficiencies, and buoyancy of collections better under GST as compared to the pre-GST period? This is done by examining GST collections while controlling for extraneous factors, such as inflation. Further, a novel mechanism for computing the collection rate of GST, using only publicly-available data is proposed. This has potential applications in revenue modelling, in analysis of trends across time and geographies, and for policy formulation. Rationalization of tax rates, structural efficiencies, widening of the tax base, and enhanced compliance are seen to contribute to the positive outcomes observed. In order to address the paucity of disaggregated data on enforcement in the public domain, the paper uses judicial data from District Level Courts to analyse spatial dimensions of GST enforcement. Overall, it is seen that GST has delivered on multiple fronts, including revenue growth, formalization of the economy, reduced rates of taxation, and creation of a more unified market. We also observe that post-GST tax buoyancy and collection efficiencies have shown significant improvement.

The second hoard from Strzelce Krajeńskie was discovered in 2014. The assemblage consists of at least 1948 coins. The article presents the interdisciplinary study of 109 of these coins. Apart from all Prague groschen, wittens, hellers and Jagiellonian pennies also 10 Brandenburg and 70 West Pomeranian pennies were loaned for this project by the museum where the assemblage is housed. Care was taken to select the most statistically representative sample possible. Twenty Vinkenaugen from the Szczecin mint were selected – as well as ten pennies minted in Gryfino, Koszalin, Słupsk, Stargard and Kołobrzeg. Additionally, 48 coins were subjected to a metallographic analysis – 18 Prague groschen of Wenceslas IV, two pennies of Vladislaus III, two Mecklenburg and three West Pomeranian wittens, four coins identified as Silesian hellers and 19 West Pomeranian pennies. The results we obtained demonstrate the benefits of collaboration between numismatics and natural sciences. Interdisciplinary research conducted on part of the second hoard from Strzelce Krajeńskie reveals its research potential and value as an archaeological source for the study of monetary history.

Abstract:
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media animasi terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi menggambar bentuk bidang siswa SMKN 4 Tangerang Selatan kompetensi keahlian teknik gambar bangunan kelas X setelah menggunakan media animasi pada materi pelajaran menggambar bentuk bidang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai dengan Desember 2016. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X Teknik Gambar Bangunan yang berjumlah 69 siswa yang dibagi kedalam 2 kelompok kelas, yaitu kelas kontrol (kelas yang menggunakan media konvensional) dengan jumlah 35 siswa dan kelas eksperimen (kelas yang menggunakan media animasi) yang berjumlah 34 siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen. Pengujian persyaratan hipotesis menggunakan uji normalitas, teknik uji normalitas menggunakan teknik analisis chi-kuadrat. Validitas instrument soal tes dilakukan dengan judgement expert dan uji coba instrumen, hasil dari uji validitas menunjukkan terdapat 25 soal valid dan 5 soal tidak valid dari 30 soal yang disajikan. Reliabilitas instrument tes dihitung dengan rumus Kuder-Richardson (KR-20) diperoleh harga r = 0,810 dengan soal pilihan ganda. Hasil belajar sebelum dilakukan pembelajaran menggambar bentuk bidang menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar kelas kontrol memiliki nilai 52-96 dengan rata-rata 77. Hasil belajar kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai 52-88 dengan rata-rata 70,470. Sedangkan hasil belajar setelah dilakukan pembelajaran menggambar bentuk bidang menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar kelas kontrol memiliki nilai 60-100 dengan rata-rata 87,889. Hasil belajar kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai 52-100 dengan rata-rata 84,235. Hasil data yang didapat kemudian diolah dengan uji – t yang menghasilkan nilai thitung = 7,963 dan ttabel = 2,037, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa niai thitung ≥ ttabel atau 7,963 > 2,037 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara pretest dan posttest setelah menggunakan media animasi. Sedangkan uji linieritas menunjukkan nilai Fhitung = 7,758 dan Ftabel = 4,150. Karena nilai Fhitung ≥ Ftabel atau 7,758 > 4,150 maka regresi tersebut linier.
