Full textIn this thesis, we initially conducted an analytical performance analysis of two of the most popular cognitive radio (CR) schemes, namely the interweaved and the underlay cognitive radio network (CRN) approaches. It was numerically shown that the behavior of each of the examined CRN approaches is highly dependent on basic system parameters. Furthermore, we studied the problem of rate-optimal receive BF and user selection, considering the uplink of a multi-user, unprioritized CRN. As the assumption of a channel state information (CSI) setting, whereby the involved channels would be merely instantaneously (resp. statistically) known is, to a great extent, optimistic (resp. pessimistic), we considered a mixed (combined) CSI scenario. Then, the problem of rate-optimal transmit BF for a MISO underlay CRN, assuming the existence of mixed CSI, was thereafter formulated. Concentrating on downlink communication, the goal of the system’s design was the maximization of the secondary system’s achievable ergodic capacity, subject to an average rate constraint imposed on primary communication. Continuing the investigation of the latter precoding problem with mixed, distributed channel knowledge, we developed a coordination scheme, according to which, the transmitters coordinate on the basis of statistical (covariance) information of the global channel. The proposed precoding strategy was shown to outperform conventional approaches taken from the literature. Finally, within a prioritized CRN framework, we proposed a pilot assignment algorithm

A study was carried out to evaluate the use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell wall (SCCW) as an anti-mycotoxin additive in broiler chicks? diets slaughtered at 22 day age on performance, carcass characteristics and organ weights. It was used a randomized complete block design with four treatments in a factorial 2 (with aflatoxin, without aflatoxin) x 2 (with adsorbent, without adsorbent). For the performance parameters evaluated, there was a significant difference only on feed intake, when the SCCW was added to the rations. There was no interaction between aflatoxin and SCCW factors in the diet on the performance variables studied. The addition of SCCW to the chicks? diets stimulated the feed intake during 1-21 days of age. However, that did not reflect a significant increase in weight gain, or a change in feed conversion. There was a significant interaction between factors aflatoxin and SCCW on the weight post-fasting, cold carcass weight and thigh+upper weight. For the absolute hot carcass weights, breast, back and wings and carcass yields and relative weights of the cuts it was not observed a significant interaction between factors. The growth performance of broilers in the period 1-21 days old was not influenced by the levels of aflatoxin and SCCW factors used in experimental diets. Nevertheless for body weight after fasting, the cold carcass weight and absolute weight of the thigh + drumstick, the SCCW acted as an anti-mycotoxin additive by minimizing the aflatoxin toxicity.

Full textThe information technology industry has provided equipment and computer programs increasingly affordable to the end user, allowing employees, in search of better personal performance, apply their own resources, such as tablets and e-mail personal accounts, to professional activity, impacting how IT governance works. The search for practicability and opportunities in an environment that fosters change, some of intrapreneurial activities characteristics, acts in decision making and contributes to the process of consumerization of IT. With the availability of new technologies and the current belief in a new fashion trend, a conducive scenario is created to these innovations be used in organizations, taking advantage of the facilities of virtualization, of knowledge and adaptability of the user with the technology. The employee waits thereby improve their efficiency and productivity through the variety of possibilities, delivering results with better information quality. As the personal computer resources are not part of the organization's IT portfolio, we hypothesize that IT consumerization can negatively affect IT Governance. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the use of personal information technology resources on performance and IT governance, from the approaches of intrapreneurship and IT Fashion. To achieve this goal we conducted a survey with qualitative and quantitative techniques. It was identified the personal information technology resources used by employees and key elements related to the selected constructs. It was developed an prior measurement instrument (survey) that was tested in a sample for adjustments. The final survey consisted with a validated sample of 253 respondents. To analyze the survey data, and to validate and test the research hypothesis, it was used structural equation modeling techniques. It was found that intrapreneurship and IT Fashion significantly and positively influences the consumerization of IT and this, in turn, influences the personal performance factor. Unlike the initial hypothesis proposed, the consumerization of IT affects significantly and positively the IT Governance. We conclude that the use of personal computing for work is influenced by intrapreneurial actions and by the technological innovations seduction provided by the information technology industry and positively affect personal performance and IT Governance It is observed that organizations are flexible in use of personal IT and they adapt to the introduction, by employees, of personal technological innovations for work, adjusting policies to IT Governance.

Full textTo remain in the market, companies must know in detail their internal processes, aiming to constant improve and refine the current structure. Organizations should focus their efforts on information systems that meet their needs. In this context fits Managerial Accounting, which has the objective of improving information for decision making from the process of measurement and allocation of costs to products and processes, providing economic information to evaluate the performance. These demanding require methodologies that generate the information necessary to assist the global goal of Managerial Accounting. However, several authors (ALBRIGHT; LAM, 2006, RAGHUNATHAN; MCKINNEY, 2002, AL-OMIRI; DRURY, 2007) claim that the Management Costing Systems (MCS) still shown to be inefficient and incomplete to reality and current dynamism of organizations. Thus, an analysis of this issues appears to be critical, in order to identifying the factors that influence the adoption and structuring of costing methodologies, used to support the processes of Management Accounting, and systematize a structured model to operationalize the processes of definition and modeling of this Information Systems. To meet these needs, this study is structured in three main articles and two supporting articles, made from a literature review (Article 1), a field study (Article 2) and two case studies (Article 3). With the development of these articles, the need of a conceptual model that meets the objectives of Management Accounting can be verified. The factors that influence the implementation and structuring of costing methods, identified in the literature, were presented, as well as a system for defining and modeling those methods was structured. With these results, it can be seen that a more adequate understanding of the company's strategy and objectives of the methods implemented, facilitates the operation of the Information Systems, allowing the use of the information generated to assist in planning and decision making.

Full textIn the current economic and competitive environment, what distinguish the companies is their reactivity to provide increasingly complex products with increasingly diverse needs. To achieve this reactivity despite constraints, integrated engineering approachs have been emerged to better manage and organize the product life cycle. In this context, it is essential to take into account the characteristics' variations and their interdependencies to improve the performance (cost, risk, quality ...). This thesis was devoted to the generation of an optimal inspection plan including process variations monitoring and product variations control. A methodological framework for the co-conception of product control and process monitoring activities has been formalized and validated. This framework allows operational decision-making by the intervention of operational tools and ensures the satisfaction of strategic objectives (cost reduction, improved quality, increased productivity ...). FMEA, KC flowdown, and Activity Based Costing (ABC) were selected following a comprehensive literature review on quality planning and performance improvement. However, these tools present some lack to fill up and therefore are subjected to certain adaptations in order to best fit the needs of the proposed methodological framework. Integration of FMEA and KC flowdown resulted in a new tool called ACDE. As well the adaptation of ABC to estimate the cost of quality by "Quality-Driven ABC" was proposed. The application of these latter has been proposed to limit the inspection planning to “bare essentials activities

Full textThe contemporary performance scene, in both France and England, can be distinguished by a common interest in the ‘everyday body.’ Discarding principles of representation, narrative logic, and characterisation, many of today’s practitioners choose instead to reflect a deliberately fallible and ordinary sense of their own corporality. This results in a notion of presence in which the presented body can somehow disappear and where a certain complicity with the audience is founded on a sense of common incompetence. The use of real time (as opposed to theatrical time) the restriction of movement, and a questioning and dismantling of the traditional ideas of theatrical presentation and reception, all form ways of resisting the accelerated and intensified production cycle imposed by the cultural economy in which the work is produced. Refusing to be seduced by notions of grand spectacle or perfect technique, these performers produce less within their performance and therefore embrace an “anti-productive” creative pattern. At the same time, inventing new ways of working together (ephemeral collaborations, meetings happening upon a project-based logic, micro-communities), they create, in the theatre, a democratic space based on an equality of status between performers and spectators. Without seeking revolution or utopia, they enable a critical investigation of the theatrical space that can, for the duration of an event, create new ways for all those present to experience being together within that space

Full textPractice of association is the way for the small producers, that, isolated and with small production, they do not get to participate or to influence markets more and more competitive. Thus, it becomes necessary to evaluate organization`s forms that can be presented as socio-economic inclusion ways. The dissertation has for objective to impacts` evaluate of the practice of association in the economic, technological and social conditions of the milk producers. The impact evaluation was made from a set of performance indicators that allowed to evaluate the current result of the associations. The research method adopted was the case study, with multicases. The evaluation form used allowed to identify factors of success of the associations, like this as few restrictions for the development of these associative organizations. The associations are examples of success for the improvement in the life of producers, however it is a success with restrictions, therefore that this is restricted to some of the pointers and, particularly, are economic indicators. However, the social contribution of the associations for the producers is complementary and basic to the economic profits, being that these contribute excessively for the formation of the social capital. All the associations are how efficient how much to the objective to take care of its associates. One of cases, that association was disactivated, this also one revealed efficient while it was in functioning. Thus, the evaluation measure how much to the efficiency of the associations, considering that the efficiency is bigger to the measure that if they verify the indicated situations. It is distinguished in the results of that the associations that demonstrated the best ones resulted had been formed by independent and not governmental initiatives. In these conditions, these associations had contributed of more significant form for the formation of the social capital. In conclusion the work it brings two important contributions. The first is theoretician, with the presentation of a methodology for evaluation of associations of milk producers. Second it is practical, with the results of the research. The formation of the associations fortifies the producers ahead of the difficulties found in all the productive chain, since the producers if present as the link weakkest of the chain. However, this force still is restricted to the milk production, with great distance of the final and more important link of all the chain, the consumer. The practice of association is a good form of adequacy of the producing ahead to the requirements imposed for the market, but still it has very for if making. Exactly that all the good initiatives of each one of the associations were developed by all the associations, the current situation of the milk market, without politics consumption incentives, would not be enough for a significant improvement in the current picture of the milk sector.

Full textThis chant-dissertation is the sharing of my reflection on the theme of the sacred dimension of poetic voice, done through dialogue and intersection of two research fields. The first field is the work of Cecilia Valentim in her approach A Arte do Ser Cantante and the second one is the creation process the play Recusa, by Cia Balagan , where I frame the research on the vocal poetic work developed, both fields are mainly located in São Paulo. To thicken the discussion on the theme voice and sacred, I bring the concepts discussed by Grotowski, a great theater thinker, about the presence of the actor, Art as Vehicle and vibration chants, as well as other references related to voice, rituality, singing, creation. In order to accomplish this research I use semi-structured interviews and field journals. For the first field I followed a number of courses given by Cecília Valentim. As for the second field, the analysis was done through the play´s appreciation and the reading of several materials from the process (film, images, articles written about the process, etc). From contact with the two fields of research some elements emerged which guided me through the reflection on the subject of voice and the sacred. The identification and formulation of such elements are my place of arrival in the investigation. I build through the research a thought about voice as humanity force, as discovery and expansion of oneself and of the world.

Full textThis research focuses on the systematic synthesis and optimization of digital RST structure based controllers thanks to global metaheuristics approaches. The classic and hard problems of closed-loop poles placement and sensitivity functions shaping of RST control are well formulated as constrained multi-objective problems to be solved with proposed metaheuristics algorithms NSGA-II, MODE, MOPSO and especially epsilon-MOPSO. Two formulations of the metaheuristics-tuned RST problem have been proposed. The first one, which is given in the time domain, deals with the minimization of several performance criteria like the Integral Square Error (ISE) and the Maximum Overshoot (MO) indices. These optimal criteria, related primarily to the step response of the controlled plant, are optimized under non-analytical constraints defined by temporal templates on the closed-loop dynamics. In the second approach, a formulation in the frequency domain is retained. The proposed strategy aims to optimize a desired output sensitivity function satisfying H∞ robustness constraints. The use of a suitable fixed part of the optimized output sensitivity function will provide partial pole placement of the closed-loop dynamics of the digital RST controller. The opposite of such desired sensitivity function will define the associated H∞ weighting filter. The Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) technique is particularly retained for the resolution of all formulated multi-objective RST control problems. An adaptive grid based MOPSO algorithm is firstly proposed and then improved based on the epsilon-dominance concepts. Such proposed epsilon-MOPSO algorithm, with a good diversity of the provided Pareto solutions and fast convergence time, showed a remarkable superiority compared to the standard MOPSO, NSGA-II and MODE algorithms. Performance metrics, such as generational distance, error rate and spacing, are presented for the statistical analysis of the achieved multi-optimization results. An application to the variable speed RST control of an electrical DC drive is performed, also for the RST position control of a flexible transmission plant with varying loads. Demonstrative simulations and comparisons are carried out in order to show the validity and the effectiveness of the proposed metaheuristics-based tuned RST control approach, which is formulated in the multi-objective optimization framework

Abstract Recently we need the 3D sound technologies to build the「Virtual Reality ,VR」[3]for desktop computers. The VR technologies use a computer to produce the virtual 3D space. This space looks like the real world. So we can feel all the senses in that virtual world. For humans, eyes are the important organ to give us the feeling of direction and distance. The main subject we want to research is, to make the transmission of the sound andthe sight simultaneously in our brain, then human brain can clearly knows where the events occur. For this purpose ,we use the「Head Related Transfer Function,HRTF」[1] to achieve the main goal. In current process, it’s require to execute the amplitude of waveform, a amount of decay, delay time and inter aural difference of the HRTF process in real time. A new results can be obtained by applying the wave files of the HRTF. The sound quality of our result are as good as the CD (44kHz、16 bits、stereo). The key point of this technology is to use the HRTF to convolute with the input source files. To increase speed of the algorithm, we use integer variables to evaluate the convolution operation in our program. To demonstrate the result, we add the 3D animation in our program. So we can feel the movement of sound source more real by the combination of the images and sound.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of regulatory fit on shoot sport performance. Regulatory Focus Theory mainly distinguishes people from promotion focus and prevention focus. And they performed on not only individual but also emvironment, when the focouses are cogruennt between person and environment,it would get the feeling of feeling right and then elevate personal ability. The state named Regulatory Fit. In the study, a web-based situational shooting game is designed based on the theory, without limiting the Participants’ condition and performing a shooting game to test if the best performance is achieved when achieving the Regulatory Fit. Before the game the participants completed the questionnaire to assess individual’s regulatory focus and then enter the game to manipulate. The experiment is not as good as expected, and is far from the past. The results showed that age was positively correlated with performance, and there was no significant difference between male and female, and there was no significant difference in performance. In the past studies, it was confirmed that the theory had a practical effect on the athletes. However, the study was designed the innovation of combing the network environment of the network environment and sports, but there were still some errors, and the problem of research limited had to be overcome. The auther believed this results is a good reference for future study in Regulatory Focus Theory on sport.performance

In this study, the flow, the temperature and the combustion performance of a micro engine combustor is tested experimentally. During the design of a micro engine combustor, it is always difficult to accurately arrange the inlet air distribution, because the suitability of the conventionally recommended Cd (discharge coefficient) based on large and small engine is questionable for micro-engine. The relationship between Cd and the dynamic pressure ratio K, for micro- engines with K ranging from 1 to 4 is experimentally established. Then, with the aid of the oil flow techniques and pressure data, the inlet air distribution can be estimated. Three typical operating conditions are considered:1. Nearly idle condition2. Cruise condition3. Nearly Full power condition After the improvement of the atomizer, the outlet temperature is increased by 12 to 27%. Moreover,if the upstream air is preheated, an increase of 36 to 48% of temperature can be achieved and the combustion efficiency is thus improved. We can find that the efficiency of this micro engine combustor can achieve the same performance as the small engine combustors at cruise and full power conditions, but with a little bit lower efficiency at the idle condition. It indicates a success in the design of the combustor in the size reduction to a micro-turbine engine.

In this research, we study the influence of the electrode pattern design on turn-on voltage、light intensity、junction working temperature and current distribution in light emitting diodes (LEDs). We also study the influence of temperature on electroluminescent dominate wavelength for light emitting diodes. Furthermore,we utitizing Photo emission Microscope inspection to failure analysis for failure devices. We hope of advances notions between electrode pattern design and turn-on voltage、 light intensity、temperature for LEDs. We designed several electrode patterns in the fixed sized LEDs. In our research, we found that the reduction of turn-on voltage is related to the increasing total length of P-electrode and N-electrode. Furthermore, we found that the reduction of turn-on voltage is also related to the parallel length of P electrode and N electrode. Base on the experiment results, we estimated the reduction of turn-on voltage is proportion to the total length of P electrode and N electrode. For conversation efficiency, we found it proportion to the area which deduct P electrode area from transparent conduction layer (TCL) and the area of P electrode overlap N electrode. But, based on experiment results of temperature, we found that the LEDs of electrode pattern design unconformable would accounted for current crowding effect caused electroluminuence dominate wavelength shift acutely and light intensity saturation early. Based on failure analysis results, we found that when applied reverse bias, the LEDs of high leakage current would found failure point easily in photo emission microscopy measurement. We think that make up to failure analysis more intimate for failure point at failured devices.

To judge the trend is the key of whether investors can gain profit. Moving average is the most common tool among investors to judge the trend. This study proceeds empirical research on the trading performance of the single moving average of different days. This study adopts TAIEX intra-day data as underlying asset. The research period is from Jan 1st,2007 to Dec 31st,2011, total 5 years, including 1,245 trading days. We design three strategies to test single moving average as empirical result of trading decision to find out the most appropriate average line accumulative annual buy to hold return rate better than TAIEX index. Besides, this study will make sectional trading from different sections trend mode in research period and look into the trend of TAIEX index in bull market, bear market and consolidation and hope to find out the best average line. The empirical result is as below:If we perform long, short, long and short strategies, six day moving average make the highest return. And most average line is better than TAIEX accumulative return rate of buy-to-hold. During bull market, among three trading strategies, eleven days moving average gain the highest return. During bear market and long strategy, 26 days average line has the best performance. In the strategies of long and short, 7 days average line has the best performance. During consolidation and long strategy, 4 moving line has the best performance. For short strategy and long plus short strategies, 5 days average line has the best performance.

The major purpose of this study is to understand the effect of Human Resource Professional Competencies and Work Motivation to Individual Job Performance. The human resource professional competencies include business knowledge, functional human resource expertise, strategic human resource expertise, communication & negotiation, human resource diagnosis & counseling, and self-development, and the work motivation includes intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation. It is not only to understand the effects from these factors but also to know the interaction no matter the competencies or the motivation to be as the moderator of the relationship between the other and job performance. The methodology of this study is to survey around the human resource professionals in Taiwan. The questionnaire is spread by both on-line survey system and paper sheets. It is divided into two parts: one is designed for human resource professionals to self-assess their competencies and work motivations, and the other is for their supervisors to rate their job performance. Finally, we analyze the data by linear regression statistics. The results of this study indicate that professional competencies correlate positively with job performance, especially the “self-development” and “business knowledge” correlate highly positively. The work motivation also correlates positively with job performance, and the intrinsic motivation correlates highly positively. However, there is no correlation between extrinsic motivation and job performance. Generally speaking, the professional competencies affect the job performance more than work motivation. The interaction between professional competencies and work motivation to job performance exist partially. Therefore, business knowledge, self-development, and intrinsic motivation are important factor for human resource professionals’ job performance. It is recommended to recruit talents with such specialties, and to provide training to increase their business knowledge and strategic human resource expertise. Besides, a flexible job design and challenging tasks can also promote their job performance.

For many financial institutes, information sector is more and more playing a crucial role for banking operation than ever before, and the competitions among the banks are dramatically increasing. Besides, advanced information technology (IT) has become a core competing advantage in banking arena. Therefore, how to manage the operation of information sector efficiently and measure its performance should be a currently significant subject. This study represents the concept of balanced scorecard (BSC) with four perspectives (financial, customer, internal business processes, and learning and growth) to build the entirely performance measurement indicators of information sector and exploits analytic network process (ANP) method to evaluate its holistic performance. The research structure herein falls into two phases. In the first phase, four perspectives of BSC are dedicated to measure performance of banks through the literature survey and expert interview, and factor analysis (FA) is used to sieve out sixteen key strategic indicators from the population of performance indicators in terms of key performance indicators (KPI). In the second phase, using ANP package to calculate and adjust the dependencies among KPI and further determine the relative weights of objective KPI concerning the dependence and feedback characteristics of BSC perspectives. The discoveries of the research are induced as follows: In the financial perspective, the information sector hopes to control its the level of budget and cost; in the customer perspective, the information sector hopes to reduce the times of complaints by way of its high quality and efficient services; in the internal business processes perspective, the information sector attaches quite importance to its process quality, operation efficiency and response cycle time; in the learning and growth perspective, the information sector hopes to increase its professional technical capacity through the continue studying and learning.

This study is to exam the relation among corporate governance, earnings management, and firm value for Taiwan electrical industry. The importance of corporate governance would be more and more stressed by enterprises after the huge loss caused by subprime mortgage markets. Final empirical evidences show that significant negative relationship was found to exist between earnings management and financial performance variables such as ROA, ROE and EPS. However, earnings management will have positive effects on Tobin Q. It will infer that earnings management seems to be able to reduce the volatilities of profits, which might be helpful to lift up the firm values. Secondly, the empirical result shows that CEO duality is negative related to financial performance ;the proportion of shares held by directors is positively related to financial performance. It means the enterprises with the chairman of the broad with the duty of CEO might have manipulating power of earnings management. Thirdly, the interaction item between the proportion of foreign-investor-owned shared and earnings management are negative to firm value. Results support that investors concern balance sheet, income statement, consolidated statement of cash flows and disclosure item.

With the rapid development of learning technology and open educational resources, the integration of learning and technology has gradually become a trend. More and more teachers of higher education institutions and primary and secondary schools use Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) into their instruction. Relevant literature shows that most researches are based on the development of teachers, academic institutions, or MOOCs. There are few studies on the integration of teacher education courses, MOOCS and flipped classroom. Thus, the purpose of this study is to understand learners’ learning process, attitudes, problems encountered, solutions, and recommendations for future use of MOOCs into teaching. This study interviewed six pre-service teachers who had participated in a teacher education course integrated with MOOCs. The results of the study showed that the use of MOOCs into learning is for lifelong learning and future career. However, the function of MOOCs platform did not bring academic benefits. Most learners’ mentioned that lecturors’ teaching style in MOOCs influence their learning . Student lack of self-discipline is a big challenge because of online learning limitation. MOOCs is considered as an auxiliary textbook in the classroom. Thus, it is recommended that pre-service teachers can integrate MOOCs into the middle school curriculum in the future. Finally, the research results, discussions and suggestions were provided to scholars, teachers and relevant education practitioners.

The study is researching the relationship between the attributes and performance of the investors. In order to realize the correlation of investors’ attributes and performance, this research uses the positive examples to analyze the variation of investors’ behaviors. Under the risks that the investors can bear to pursue the maximum rewards. If the same investors in different markets, will it result the different variation of attributes. Will the same attributes in different investing environments bring the variation of rewards? Because of the variation of investing performance, the investors will bring the variation about the risk attitude. This research is using the customer’s real investing performance and each annual attributes variations to analyze the correlation. Using the statement statistic, correlation test, T-test, and the regression analysis, it tests every remarkable variable in each attributes and performances. The important outcomes of positive examples are as following: It is not remarkable for performance about the investor’s sex, age, asset class, risk attributes. Return on Investment of asset utilization and marketplace show the positive effect. The average performance of asset allocation after undergo many Bearish Market will better than the performance of single investment target. Changes in the market will influence the outcomes of investors’ attributes questionnaire. It shows that the investors are very rational. The previous year’s Return on Investment will influence this year and next year investors’ attitudes in updating risk attributes questionnaire. It indirectly explain that the investors don’t have the mature ideas about manage finances. In performance analysis the active investors are not better than those in conservative. It doesn’t matter in single investment or annual total investment Return on Investment rate. The steady investors are better than those in others. Annual average rewards are better than the index number performance in Taiex. It is probably that the X bank imports the concepts of asset utilization.

This study analyzes the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance for the public listed companies in Taiwan, and the effect of a firm's research and development (R&D) intensity in mediating the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance. The corporate social responsibility performance rating data are taken from Common Wealth Magazine. The empirical results confirm that there is an obvious positive relationship between CSR and financial performance. In addition, CSR has positive influences on R&D, and after controlling for R&D, the impact of CSR on financial performance are reduced. Thus, R&D intensity plays as a mediator of the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance.
