<strong>Abstract:</strong> 744 patients from 3 different clinical settings were evaluated as follows: unfractionated heparin (UFH) during or after cardiac surgery (n=100), UFH after orthopedic surgery (n=100, = 205) and molecular weight heparin (LMWH ) after orthopedic surgery (n = 439). In the activation assay, the frequency of HIT-IgG formation varied from a minimum of 3.2% in orthopedic patients receiving LMWH to a maximum of 20% in cardiac patients receiving UFH; per antigen assay, the corresponding frequencies ranged from 7.5% to 50%. However, in patients who developed HIT-IgG and received UFH, the probability of HIT was higher in orthopedic patients than in cardiac patients (according to the activation assay: 52.6% vs. 5%; odds ratio 21.1). [95% CI, 2.2-962.8]; P = .001; nach Antigen-Assay: 34,5 % vs. 2,0 %; Odds Ratio, 25,8 [95 % KI, 3,2-1141]; P &lt; 001). Abstract:
One of the most important branches of medical science, until past time, law and consequently to medical ethics. Patients'satisfaction of their rights, one of the most important indicators of effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and quality ofhealthcare services. The goal of this study was to Check the Observance of the rights of patients in surgical patientsadmitted to Shohaday Ashayer hospital in 2015-2016 from the perspective of patients. This cross-sectional studyincluded 800 patients admitted to Shohada Ashayer Hospital in 2015 and 2016. Respecting patient&rsquo;s bill of rights fromtheir viewpoint was determined by a questionnaire using a Likert scale from one (strongly disagree) to five (stronglyagree). The results obtained in this study showed that the rate of patients' rights in all aspects of the %15.8 patient's viewwas poor, from the %67.4 patient's perspective was middle, and from the %16.8 patient's view was good. Most patients'satisfaction with their rights in respect to the axis of the right to choose and decide freely and the lowest levels ofsatisfaction was at the core of respect for patient privacy and confidentiality principle. Level of satisfaction in all axeswas significantly associated with age, type of substrate in the third axis, history of hospitalization in the fourth axis andduration of hospital stay in the second axis(P&lt;0.O5). Between gender and place of residence and educational level foundno significant relaion(P&gt;O.O5). In total, based on the obtained results and comparing them with the results of otherstudies, it may be concluded that respecting patient&rsquo;s bill of rights from the viewpoint of patients is considered as optimaland to enhance the implementation of the Charter as well as patient satisfaction is essential that solutions be identifiedbarriers to implementation.

Abstract:
The provision of quality health services is a crucial competitive advantage of health service providers. Nursing care plays a major role in the health care services. Orthopaedic patients require a greater level of care as a result of several possible complications, increased vulnerability, potential cardio-pulmonary compromise and requirement of general concerns. The study therefore compared nursing care satisfaction among orthopaedic patients in two selected teaching hospitals in Osun State. The study adopted the descriptive research design of the survey type. The population study comprised all patients scheduled for elective and emergency, Orthopaedics surgeries in Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife and Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo during the study period. All the available patients were recruited within two months of data collection. A standardized tool of the Patient Satisfaction&nbsp;with&nbsp;Nursing&nbsp;Care&nbsp;Quality Questionnaire (PSNCQQ) was adapted for data collection. The instrument was validated by subjecting it to be reviewed by experts of nursing education and Tests &amp; Measurement. The findings of the study revealed that 66.0% of the patients in OAUTHC had moderate level of satisfaction with nursing while 62.5% of the patients in LAUTECH also had moderate level of satisfaction with nursing. It was also revealed that there was no difference in patient&rsquo;s level of satisfaction with nursing care in OAUTHC and LAUTECH. It was recommended among others that nursing care in the two hospitals (OAUTHC and LAUTECH) in Osun State should be adequately improved so as to achieve high level of the patient&rsquo;s satisfaction with nursing care. &nbsp; <strong>Keywords</strong>: Comparison, patient satisfaction, nursing care, orthopaedic patients,

Abstract:
Falls are the second-leading cause of unintentional injuries or deaths worldwide. Inpatient falls result in significant physical and economic burdens for patients as well as for medical organizations. From January to November 2022, the number of fall incidents was 25. The causes identified were ineffective PFE, no hourly rounds, especially during night shifts, poor IPR with assigned patients, lack of awareness regarding disease conditions and medication administered, not giving effective PFE when the level of care changes, and not providing proper fall prevention education to the patient attendant. Group director nursing has initiated a campaign titled &ldquo;SAFE&rdquo; (Safety Against Fall Every time) in the month of November. The campaign was conducted till January 2023.Numerous campaign activities were planned to reduce the incidence of patient fall and to reinforce the compliance to fall prevention protocols.&nbsp; Various fun activities such as pocket charts, spin wheel, dart, quiz activities, poster competitions were planned to encourage participation of the staff in the campaign and to enhance learning. Daily audits were conducted to ensure correct assessment of vulnerable patients &amp; AFRAT (Apollo fall risk assessment tool) monitoring. Daily briefing was held in all the three shifts on PFE &amp; prevention of patient fall. Team leaders of the unit has been instructed to ensure hourly rounds specially during night shifts. The percentage of fall incidence in Jan to Nov 2022 was 62% which was reduced to 32% in Dec to Jun2023.Daily audits on hourly rounds, assessment of vulnerable patient, AFRAT scoring and patient &amp; family education was continued to ensure a culture of safety among the staff nurses.&nbsp;

Abstract:
Objective: The objective of this study was to examine if patients, visiting a hospital outpatient&rsquo;s clinic, were satisfied about the care delivered when a PA instead of a doctor is the provider. Methods: The study methodology was a descriptive quantitative approach using an eight-item survey and an option to include free text comments. Results: There was no difference in satisfaction levels between consultations with doctors or PAs, as part of a pilot project introducing the PA role. Conclusions: In Ireland, patients are just as satisfied with the care they received from PAs and doctors. Findings are consistent with findings in other countries where the PA role is embedded. In meeting the patient&#39;s needs, an important aspect of care given by both doctor and PA seems to be keeping the patient informed and behaving in a professional manner.

Abstract:
According to estimates, the number of patients undergoing hemodialysis is expected to increase dramatically within next years due to the ageing of population and prevalence of other co morbidities such as diabetic mellitus, coronary artery disease, hypertension and several others. 1-5 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; However, the exact number of patients seems to vary globally which is&nbsp; attributed to various obstacles such as inadequate data registries or failure to adopt a common&nbsp;and widely accepted methodology that will permit meaningful comparative research.&nbsp;1-5 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Importantly, available evidence illustrates that hemodialysis as a method of renal replacement implies a heavy emotional burden for individuals and their family while several needs of patients emerge on surface. 1-5 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; First and foremost, &nbsp;patients need elaborate information regarding their disease including fistula or any other vascular access for hemodialysis machine in order to manage long-term treatment and accept the new demanding reality of life. &nbsp;According to patients&#39; reports, the knowledge of kidney disease, the care of &nbsp; &nbsp; vascular access, treatment options, and medications were the most important educational needs.6 In Greek population, more informed about&nbsp; hemodialysis &nbsp;were single patients, University graduates, employees, younger patients and those having very good relations with nursing staff, doctors and other patients.5 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; A sincere relation between health professionals and hemodialysis patients &nbsp;is a valuable tool for both sides. Indeed, a stable relation between these two parties promotes changes in regard to health-related behavior.&nbsp;Meanwhile, an effective relation not only strengthens patients&#39; self-care but also enables them to adhere to the therapeutic regimen. 2-5 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It is essential for health professionals who provide care to this sensitive population to evaluate adherence to dietary and fluid &nbsp;limitations. Interestingly, non adherence to treatment is a major issue for hemodialysis patients which is associated with increased morbidity and mortality, multiple interventions and&nbsp; prolonged hospitalizations.2-6 Adherence to therapeutic recommendations and the proposed diet were associated with higher score of quality of life in 320 Greek hemodialysis patients, out of whom 57,2% were men. 7 &nbsp;Other significant factors affecting non adherence to fluid and diet &nbsp;include age, marital status, and family and friend support. 1 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Research has given rise to a large amount of problems associated with the painful procedure&nbsp;of hemodailysis that limits normal life. Machine dependency&nbsp; is often experienced by this complex population since hemodialysis is the only choice to achieve life maintenance. Dependency on dialysis machine is associated with gender, education level, job, place of residence, degree of information, adherence to treatment guidelines, relations with nursing staff, change in body image, difficulties in social and family environment, concealment of problem, and need for help in daily activities.8 &nbsp;It is imperative to familiarize patients with this demanding and time consuming procedure as well as to encourage expression of their feelings. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; During recent decades, there is growing recognition of social support -issues in hemodialysis patients. 9,10 Social support is a modifiable psychosocial factor associated with patients&rsquo; perception of quality of life. Interestingly, the more support hemodialysis&nbsp;patients have from their significant others, family and friends, the better quality of life they have. 9 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Additionally more, providing support that meets the needs of patients and address their specific concerns, seems to relieve them from anxiety and depression.10,11 An one point increase of the support from friends seems to reduce by 57% the probability of having high levels of anxiety. It is also shown that an one point increase of the support from significant others, family and friends reduces by 77%, 71% and 56% respectively the probability of experiencing high levels of depression. 10&nbsp; In 395 Greek hemodialysis patients, the total score of quality of life was 2.5 and 4.4 points lower for patients with moderate and high levels of depression, respectively, compared to patients with low levels of depression.11 The above findings underline the need for early and appropriate evaluation of problems arousing from mental dimension. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Finally, age plays a vital role in defining patients&#39; needs as advanced age is associated with cognitive and physical impairment and worse quality of life. 2‑5 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Given that hemodialysis represents a staggering economic burden on the healthcare system of each country, a key challenge confronting health care professionals is&nbsp; to discern patients&#39; needs.

Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral disease that was identified in 1958 in research monkeys that came from Singapore. It is an orthopoxvirus that belongs to the Poxviridae family [1]. This viral infection was restricted to Africa but in the last year the cases started raising not only in Africa but in the rest of the world [1,2]. This is why it became a disease of interest; it is important to acknowledge its epidemiological behavior, risks and vaccines, especially in a world that was recently struck by COVID-19, challenging physicians in the way of treating and vaccinating their immunosuppressed patients. &nbsp;

Abstract:
Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is a routinely used marker for long-term glycaemic control. Apart from functioning as an indicator for the mean blood glucose level, HbA1c also predicts the risk for the development of diabetic complications in diabetes patients. Many studies have proposed HbA1c to be used as a biomarker of both glycaemic control and dyslipidemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hence based on above reported findings the present study was planned for Assessment of Changes. Total 40 cases were enrolled in the present study. The present study was planned in Department of General medicine, ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research &amp; Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy Hospital, Haldia, West Bengal, India. The study was conducted from the duration one year.The cases were divided in two study groups as Diabetic patients and normal patients of 20 cases each. The data generated from the present study concludes that there is significant correlation was observed between HbA1c and various parameters of lipid profile, and there is no standardized protocol to compare the results of various other studies hence more structured and long term studies on larger no of patients are needed to validate HbA1c as a marker of dyslipidemia. Diabetic dyslipidemia or atherogenic dyslipidemia is characterized by low HDL, high TG and high small dense LDL. Early screening of diabetic patients for dyslipidemia and early intervention is required to minimize the risk of future cardiovascular mortality.

Abstract:
Background: Proactive involvement of patients in the design of safe care is a WHO-defined goal of the current decade. This paper investigated (a) which patient involvement activities and measures are implemented in German health care facilities for patient safety, and (b) which recommendations for action can be derived for our health care facilities. Aim and method: A literature and Internet search was conducted on institutional practices and organizational activities in Germany to improve patient safety with the involvement of patients. Interviews with five experts were conducted who advised our approach. An agenda for future research projects and first recommendations for clinical practice was formulated afterwards. Results: The evidence base on established measures to incorporate patient perspectives into the strategic promotion of patient safety in healthcare facilities in Germany is scarce and inconsistent. Patient surveys and the use of patient advocates are common. It remains unclear how patient councils as well as self-help groups have the potential to contribute to the promotion of patient safety in practice. Conclusions and agenda: An agenda is proposed. A more in-depth empirical survey and description of the situation in Germany, taking into account the experience of experts from clinical practice, is necessary to obtain a complete picture of the currently established measures for patient involvement, to uncover potential for realization and to define necessary framework conditions.

Long COVID is characterized by prolonged symptoms such as fatigue, cognitive impairments, depression, and anxiety. Early physical rehabilitation is a crucial component of patient recovery; however, the optimal frequency and intensity of rehabilitation interventions remain unclear. <strong>Aim.</strong> To evaluate the effects of various physical rehabilitation regimens on functional status, cognitive functions, psychosocial state, and manifestations of post-COVID syndrome in patients who underwent severe COVID-19. <strong>Materials and Methods.</strong> 102 patients with confirmed COVID-19 requiring treatment in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were included in the study. They were divided into groups based on the number of rehabilitation sessions per day: Group I received one session, while Group II received two. Physical rehabilitation included changing the body position in bed, verticalization and breathing exercises. We assessed average values for physical functional status, cognitive functions, and psychosocial condition at discharge, along with post-COVID symptom severity 5&ndash;7 days after discharge. <strong>Results. </strong>Increasing the number of rehabilitation sessions led to better psychosocial outcomes and reduced manifestations of post-COVID syndrome. However, in the short-term, increasing session frequency did not yield statistically significant improvements in cognitive functions or physical status. <strong>Conclusions.</strong> Early physical rehabilitation in ICU is vital for reducing manifestations of post-COVID syndrome in severe COVID-19 patients. Enhanced physical activity not only improves mental health but also helps alleviate physical symptoms. Future research should focus on the long-term effects of rehabilitation and a holistic approach to supporting patient recovery. <strong><em>Keywords: </em></strong><em>mobilization of patients, early activation of patient, COVID-19, ICU.</em> &nbsp; <strong>Цитуйте українською у стилі Ванкувер:</strong> Коваленко ВО.

Abstract:
Despite the advances in diagnostic technologies, oncology diseases in Bulgaria are detected at advanced stages. Nurses play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering complex care. This review aimed to evaluate the role of nurses in the transition care for oncology patients and give recommendations for its updates according to the existing transition care models. In five oncology departments, we studied 67 patients and 49 nurses using a direct individual self-administered questionnaire. Data was processed with Microsoft Office Excel 2019 и SPSS v.26. A significant number of nurses affirmed providing information to the patients within their competence (77.6%), but only orally in two-thirds of cases (65.3%). Moreover, in most cases, it happens on discharge when the patient is agitated and cannot remember all the recommendations. After discharge, the patients would seek advice from an oncologist (76.1%), with only one would ask a nurse. Patients rely on the help of their families (64.2%) to cope with the disease. Nurses should play a crucial role in improving the quality and safety of care. Intervention programs for the prevention of oncology diseases should be prepared.

Abstract:
<strong>Background</strong>: In recent years, the healthcare system has undergone rapid transformation. Nonetheless, a recent Quality and Patient Safety Report highlighted declining levels of patient safety and quality culture among healthcare professionals. This highlights the importance of assessing care quality and patient safety from the perspectives of both patients and healthcare professionals. &nbsp; <strong>Objectives</strong>: The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) patients&#39; and healthcare professionals&#39; perspectives on overall quality of care and patient safety standards at two tertiary hospitals, as well as (2) which demographic characteristics are related to overall quality of care and patient safety. &nbsp; <strong>Methods</strong>: A cross-sectional research design was used. The Revised Humane Caring Scale and the Healthcare Professional Core Competency Instrument were used to collect data on two items: overall quality of care and patient safety. Questionnaires were distributed to (1) patients (n = 600) and (2) healthcare professionals (nurses and physicians) (n = 246) in three departments (medical, surgical, and obstetrics and gynecology) at two tertiary hospitals between the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression. &nbsp; <strong>Results</strong>: The questionnaires were completed by 367 patients and 140 healthcare professionals, representing response rates of 61.2% and 56.9%, respectively. Overall, healthcare professionals rated quality of care (M = 4.36; SD = 0.720) and patient safety (M = 4.39; SD = 0.675) slightly higher than patients (M = 4.23; SD = 0.706), (M = 4.22; SD = 0.709). The study found a link between hospital variables and overall quality of care (OR = 0.095; 95% CI = 0.016-0.551; p = 0.009) and patient safety (OR = 0.153; 95% CI = 0.027-0.854; p = 0.032) among healthcare professionals. Furthermore, an association was discovered between the admission/work area and the participants&#39; perspectives on the quality of care (patients, OR = 0.257; 95% CI = 0.072-0.916; p = 0.036; professionals, OR = 0.093; 95% CI = 0.009-0.959; p = 0.046). &nbsp; <strong>Conclusions</strong>: Patients and healthcare professionals both rated the quality of care and patient safety as excellent, with only minor differences indicating a high level of patient satisfaction and competent healthcare delivery professionals. Such perspectives can offer valuable and complementary insights into how to improve the overall standards of healthcare delivery systems.

Abstract:
<em>In the business world, customer relationship management is utilized to hold customer reliability so as to expand income. Healthcare associations can fabricate a similar sort of relationship with patients, and it can likewise offer progressively unmistakable advantages. The principal advantage is by utilizing a similar hospital a patient&#39;s treatment history ought to be moderately outstanding by the association. Intermittently, extraordinary hospitals utilize distinctive patient data frameworks which are not constantly perfect with one another. On the off chance that a patient continues changing the hospital, his or her medical record can be dissipated around different destinations. In a perfect world, if the patient is treated by a similar doctor in each visit, that doctor will get progressively comfortable with the patient, which could enhance treatment. The most unmistakable advantage, be that as it may, is time. In the event that the patient goes to a similar doctor inevitably, there is no requirement for long registration toward the start of each visit. In spite of the fact that a developing collection of proof backings the utilization of cell phone short message service (SMS) for increasing physical movement, sustenance, and smoking suspension, past investigations were constrained by an attention on center to upper pay populaces, and have not focused on transcendently country networks outside the healthcare conveyance framework. Hospital websites are considered as a fitting framework for trading data and building up correspondence between patients, hospitals, and medical staff. Website character, website contact intelligence, shopping accommodation, just as consideration and service are the variables to the extent the patient relationship management is concerned. In healthcare situations, patients are considered as the primary customers; in this way, the term Patient Relationship Management (PRM) is utilized in these unique situations. PRM permits healthcare focuses to have a superior understanding into the requirements of patients while giving them better consideration. Thusly, PRM gives a chance to utilize information and data to comprehend customers and to make an incentive with them. The requirement for PRM developed when associations comprehended that it was less exorbitant to keep their present customers, while pulling in another customer would be more-expensive for an association than keeping their present customers.</em>

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Acute pulmonary oedema is a life-threatening syndrome diagnosed based on radiological and clinical findings. However, to our knowledge, no studies have investigated this syndrome in critically ill patients. OJECTIVE: To describe the prevalence of radiologically and clinically diagnosed pulmonary oedema (RCDPO) in critically ill patients, characteristics of diagnosed patients, and treatments and outcomes in this patient population. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study using natural language processing to identify all radiological reports of pulmonary oedema among patients who had been admitted to single tertiary intensive care unit (ICU) over a 1-year period (January 2015 to January 2016). We reviewed clinical data, discharge diagnosis, treatment and outcomes for such patients, and used multivariable logistic regression analysis to identify the association of RCDPO with various outcomes. RESULTS: Out of 2001 ICU patients, we identified 238 patients (11.9%) with RCDPO. Patients with RCDPO were more acutely ill, had more chronic liver disease and had more chronic renal failure than critically ill patients who did not have RCDPO. They were typically admitted with acute cardiovascular disease; were more likely to receive invasive mechanical ventilation and continuous renal replacement therapy; had longer duration of ICU and hospital stay; were more likely to die in hospital; and, if discharged alive, were more likely to be admitted to a chronic care facility. In total, 46 RCDPO patients (19.3%) died in hospital. On multivariable analysis, only age and continuous renal replacement therapy were independently associated with mortality. In contrast, invasive mechanical ventilation was associated with a 2.5 times greater odds of radiological resolution. CONCLUSION: RCDPO affected about one in eight ICU patients. Such patients were sicker and had more comorbidities. The presence of RCDPO was independently associated with higher risk of death. Invasive mechanical ventilation was the only intervention independently associated with greater odds of radiological resolution.

<strong>Abstract</strong> The relationship between the doctor and the patient is a particular type of human relation. On one hand, the word «patient» states that a person is at a disadvantage, because of his/her illness, and therefore is automatically at a disadvantageous position compared to the doctor. On the other hand, the patient has the opportunity to inform him/herself from online sources, to communicate with other patients, to participate as equal and to choose consciously his/her treatment plan. There are many different types of patients depending on their personality and interaction with their doctor. These types constituted a research field in the 80’s which lead to the analysis of patients’ psychology. After an historical flashback, patients are put in categories according to their reaction to their illness. In addition, the verbal way of approaching patients by their doctor, the patients’ expectations and their encouragement by professionals to participate more actively concerning their health care is underlined. As a result, this is the beginning of a new era, where the patient has requirements concerning both the medical and the human aspect of the doctor-patient relationship.

Abstract:
<em>This study is basically conducted to recognize the primary peritonitis in immunocompromised patients, for the purpose all patients admitted to the (ICU) intensive care unit of the Hospital from 1 January 2016 to 31 July 2017 with a diagnosis of primary peritonitis were retrospectively included. The medical record of the patients was gathered from the data recordings of the Department of Critical Care and Emergency and the Departments of Surgery. APACHE II (Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II) was the main source in the calculation for every patient at the time of admission. Antimicrobial treatment management before and after the diagnosis of peritonitis was studied. According to the above-mentioned details of methods, 120 were included and the results concerning mortality, etiology of peritonitis and microbiological data were in accordance with previous studies. According to the APACHE II score (P = 0.005), age (P = 0.002), the existence of enterococcus in the peri-operative samples (which is defined P = 0.02) and the period between diagnosis and surgery (P = 0.04) were prognostic about the death within thirty days after peritonitis diagnosis. There was no prominent difference was shown in the mortality rate in patients whose post-operative antibiotic treatment was changed following results of intra-operative peritoneal cultures versus patients having inappropriate treatment (P = 0.96). The same observations were noted for anti-enterococcal treatment. This study concentrates on the importance of significant treatment of surgery and represents modern antibiotic treatment impact. The mortality and morbidity linked with the existence of enterococcus which basically not inspired by the treatment with an antibiotic would represent to advised the pro-inflammatory role of Enterococcus. Therefore, the studies of potential randomize are required to analyze the actual contribution ofthe contribution of enterococcal antibiotic coverage in this background.</em>

Abstract:
This study was to analyze the effect on patient safety and image quality improvement by lowering the arm and applying a self-made device during chest CT examinations of unconscious patients. From April 1 to September 30, 2022, 78 patients (male: 42, female: 36, mean age: 67 years old) among intensive care unit patients who underwent chest CT scan were retrospectively reviewed. The patients were classified into three positions as follows: both arms raised (A position), both arms straight out using the self-made device (B position), and both arms straight out to the side (C position). For radiation dose comparison, dose length product (DLP) values were measured and compared to each other. For image quality evaluation, image noise, signal to noise ratio (SNR), contrast to noise ratio (CNR), and contrast to dose ratio (CNRDR) values were compared, and qualitative evaluation was also performed. The average DLP value of the B position was significantly lower than that of the C position, and it was relatively higher than that of the A position, but there was no significant difference statistically.(p=0.051) In the quantitative evaluation, it was evaluated that the B position maintains a quality quite similar to that of the A position despite the lowering of the both arms. In addition, in the qualitative evaluation, an average score was obtained between A and C. In conclusion, it was confirmed that the use of the self-made device for rapid and safe chest CT examination of unconscious patients is useful in improving patient dose and image quality.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Patient satisfaction reflects the quality of an institution’s delivery of health care services. Patient satisfaction is a critical factor in improvement or complete recuperation to wellness because satisfied patients will mean better compliance to treatment or follow up. As reported in the 2017 Annual OPD census of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, there were 2617 total patient consultations. Majority of these (2138 or 81.7 %) were obstetrical cases. The average number of consultations per day (for Obstetrics and Gynecology patients combined) is 91. Therefore, the Out-Patient Clinic plays an important role in prenatal care specifically the prevention of adverse maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to assess the level of patient satisfaction among obstetrical patients in the Out Patient Department of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Section at Metropolitan Medical Center from July 1, 2018 to July 31, 2018 and to see the relationship between socio-demographic characteristic and the level of patient satisfaction. This is a descriptive, cross sectional study. The level of patient satisfaction assessed as to physical facilities, interaction between doctor and patient, interaction between nurses and patient, and registration service. There were sixty three subjects in this study. Sixty three were satisfied with inclusion criteria. The validated questionnaire was the pretested questionnaire which was 96 % valid and reliable by Cronbach’s analysis. Statistical analysis was done which showed respondents were generally satisfied. There were significant relationship association between socio-demographic characteristics and level of patient satisfaction with P value &lt; 0.05.Key Word : Patient Satisfaction, Socio Demographic Characteristic

Abstract:
Background and objectives: Community pharmacy is a unique hybrid of professionalism and business and dealing with dispensing medicines to outpatient. The pharmacist in community pharmacies plays a crucial role in promoting, maintaining and improving the health of the community; since he/she answers questions about prescription and Over- The- Counter (OTC) drugs and gives advice about home health care supplies and durable medical equipment. Involvement of pharmacists in Over- The- Counter (OTC) counselling will increase the patient ability to understand the risks and benefits of (OTC) drug. The primary aims of this study to assess knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of Libyan community pharmacists and patients toward Over-The-counter (OTC) counselling. Secondary to identify the problems that hinder OTC pharmacy practice. Methods: Two different questionnaires were designed; the first one was distributed to 100 patients and the second designed to pharmacists (n=103) surveyed their knowledge, basic skills, focusing on patients` reasons for visiting community pharmacies and for self-medication.&nbsp; All participants were selected randomly. Results: The results showed that 62% of the community pharmacists assured that they counsel patients before dispensing OTC medication and 59% of them were focused on symptoms and sings of minor ailments. Social and cultural differences among the patients, heavy work load lack of time was the most barriers hindering the pharmacist- patient communication. On the other hand, 29% of pharmacy customers answered that time saving and 11% of them said cost saving were the most reasons for visiting community pharmacies but 8% of them for seeking medication information. Conclusion: The study showed the awareness of Libyan pharmacists towards delivering effective communication skills about OTC was not satisfactory and sufficient knowledge on OTC was still lacking. In addition, the public had negative attitude towards the pharmacists and low expectations from the pharmacy profession. The study recommends a need for training programs for pharmacists in order to nurture the relationships they have with patients.

Background Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) can affect multiple organs, including central and peripheral nervous systems, with various neurological manifestations Objectives To determine the frequency of neurological manifestations in patients with COVID-19 infection and identify their association with hospitalization. Materials and Methods An observational cross-sectional study was conducted on 351 COVID-19-infected patients in Sulaimaniyah, Iraq. The frequency of the neurological symptoms was determined and correlated with the hospitalization rate. Results The specific neurological symptoms were more predominant in hospitalized patients (98.2%) than non- hospitalized (93.4%) (p=0.052). Insomnia (72%), confusion (38.1%), urinary incontinence (14.9%), fecal incontinence (8.9%), and seizures (6.0%) were associated with hospitalization (p=0.008, p=0.003, p=0.003, p=0.023, and p=0.027, respectively). While, loss of smell, feeling of debility, loss of balance and hypersomnia were significantly observed in non-hospitalized patients (p≤0.05). The nonspecific neurological symptoms did not significantly differ between groups (p=0.240). However, headache (75.4%), fatigue (72.1%) and backache (68.3%) were associated with non-hospitalization (p&lt;0.001), while constipation (32.75%) and vomiting (24.4%) were associated with hospitalization (p=0.002 and p=0.015, respectively). The most common symptom among patients was neurological (n=204, 58.1%) associated with less hospitalization. Conclusion There was a significant association between neurological symptoms (insomnia, confusion, urine/fecal incontinence, seizures, constipation, and vomiting) and the rate of hospitalization. Loss of smell, weakness/ debility, loss of balance, hypersomnia, headache, fatigue, and backache were more common in non-hospitalized patients.
