Abstract:
Les buts de la présente étude étaient de délimiter une unité de l'analyse de l'oral spontané comparable en français et en slovène, d'examiner l'influence des éléments contextuels sur la structuration de cette unité et de dégager les combinaisons de structures linguistiques les plus efficaces lors de trois stratégies communicatives de base : lutte pour la parole, appel à l'attention et la demande de réaction. L'analyse a montré que dans les deux langues, l'unité de base de l'oral peut être délimitée par la chute conjointe de l'intensité et de la hauteur tonale. Cette unité, reprise par la méthodologie de Morel et Danon-Boileau [1998] est dénominée le paragraphe oral avec ses constituants préambule, rhème et postrhème. Une fois l'unité de base délimitée, l'étude examine l'influence des éléments contextuels sur la structuration de l'oral spontané. L'analyse de la narration, de l'argumentation et de la confrontation d'opinions différentes a montré surtout l'influence du type du discours sur la longueur du préambule et sur sa composition interne. Le profil des locuteurs semble avoir la plus grande influence sur le choix des ligateurs. En ce qui concerne les stratégies des locuteurs, les résultats montrent que lors de la lutte pour la parole, le locuteur qui produit ses énoncés avec une intensité plus forte et un surplus de marques du travail de formulation va à la fin d'un chevauchement garder la parole. Quand il demande auprès de celui qui l'écoute une réaction, il le réalise par une chute de l'intensité à la fin d'une structure syntaxique, ce qui coïncide avec la fin d'un rhème
The aims of the present study are to define the unit for the analysis of the spontaneous speech in french and in slovene, to examine the influence of the context elements on the structure of this unit and to analyse the most efficient combinations of the linguistic structures whithin three basic speech strategies: turn taking, seeking for attention and request for reaction. The analysis shows that the basic unit of spontaneaous speech can be defined by simultaneaous fall of intensity and pitch in both languages. This basic unit is defined as speech paragraph with its components preamble, rheme and postrheme. In the next step, the study examines the influence of the context elements on the structuration of the spontaneous spoken discourse. The analysis of the narration, argumentation and confrontation of different opinions shows the influence of the discourse genre on the lenght and the internal structure of the preamble. On the other hand, the speaker's profile seems to have the most important effect on the use of the connectors. The analysis of the speaker's strategies in spontaneous spoken discourse shows that when two speakers start speaking at the same moment and fight for their turns, the speaker who increases the intensity, produces more features of non final formulation will more likely keep or get his turn. When a speaker wants the listener to react in order to confirm his speaking, he will realise a fall of intensity at the end of a syntactic unit, which usually takes place at the end of a rheme

La tesi pubblica i risultati del censimento dei segni critici presenti nel papiro ercolanese 1004, contenente il settimo libro della Retorica di Filodemo di Gadara. L’introduzione è dedicata a una riflessione sull’importanza filologica e documentaria dei segni attestati nei papiri greco-egizi ed ercolanesi, a cui ha fatto da contraltare, per lungo tempo, la scarsa attenzione degli studiosi, il cui interesse primario era lo studio critico del testo tramandato. Il capitolo I offre una presentazione a tutto tondo del PHerc. 1004: del papiro viene offerta una descrizione tecnica (dimensioni del rotolo, tipologia libraria, paleografia) e contenutistica (struttura del libro e organizzazione del contenuto), a cui si accompagna una rassegna dei principali studi di cui il rotolo è stato oggetto negli oltre duecento anni trascorsi dalla data del suo svolgimento a oggi. Il capitolo II riassume i risultati del censimento dei segni in due serie di tabelle: la prima, denominata ‘tabella per colonna’, presenta i dati organizzati in ordine topografico progressivo, a partire dai frammenti fino all’ultima colonna del rotolo; la seconda serie di tabelle, invece, ordina i risultati ‘per segno’, in modo da offrire uno strumento di consultazione più rapido a chi sia interessato a una ricognizione dei segni presenti nel papiro in base alla loro tipologia. Il capitolo III espone in maniera discorsiva i risultati della ricerca: per ogni tipologia di segno riscontrata (paragraphos, spatium, paragraphos associata a spatium, diplé obelismene, stigmai, segni di correzione) vengono offerti una rapida descrizione e, successivamente, una casistica delle occorrenze più significative. Il testo delle colonne prese in esame per illustrare il valore dei segni è stato sempre controllato autopticamente, con l’ausilio delle immagini multispettrali; nel caso in cui l’autopsia abbia dato risultati diversi rispetto alle edizioni di riferimento, se ne è dato conto nell’apparato critico che accompagna alcune colonne. Le conclusioni, infine, riassumono in un’ottica complessiva i dati emersi dal censimento. La maggior parte dei segni è stata rilevata per la prima volta nel corso di questa ricerca: il miglioramento è stato possibile anche grazie all’impiego delle immagini multispettrali, che hanno permesso di evidenziare con maggiore chiarezza tracce di scrittura prima invisibili a causa della carbonizzazione subita dal rotolo e dello sbiadimento subito dall’inchiostro. I risultati emersi dallo studio consentono di identificare il PHerc. 1004 come un prodotto librario di buona qualità, destinato alla consultazione da parte di Filodemo stesso e dei suoi seguaci riuniti nel circolo epicureo di Ercolano.

Abstract:
La recherche qu'on présente ici concerne la notion de paragraphe. On cherche a recueillir expérimentalement des connaissances sur les sujets en situation de production de textes. L'étude est centrée sur les raisons qui poussent les sujets à introduire des marques de paragraphes. Trois expériences ont été faites. Dans la première expérience, on demande à des sujets placés en situation de correcteurs de réinstaller des marques de paragraphes dans un texte duquel elles ont été enlevées et d'expliquer oralement leurs choix. Les résultats montrent que les sujets distinguent le sous-paragraphe et le paragraphe et qu'il existe des parties de texte dans lesquelles aucune marque de paragraphe n'est insérée. Un ensemble de raisons semblent concourir à l'introduction d'une marque de paragraphe (taille, intention de l'auteur, etc. ). Dans la seconde expérience, on demande à un sujet auteur d'un article d'expliciter les raisons qui le conduisent à introduire ou non une marque de paragraphe dans son texte. Une liste de règles de type si alors a été déduite. L'une des raisons qui poussent le sujet à changer de paragraphe c'est qu'il change d'idée. Dans la troisième expérience, on tente de préciser cette règle en tenant compte des facteurs cognitifs (hypothèse de Fayol). On montre que l'utilisation de la marque de paragraphe s'insère dans le cadre plus général des signes de ponctuation et qu'elle est liée à deux facteurs : la représentation mentale propre au sujet et au volume d'informations à traduire. Deux types de développement sont envisagés : la recherche d'information dans les documents techniques en texte intégral et la génération de textes
This research is concerned with the notion of paragraph. We try to collect experimental knowledge about subjects producing texts. The study is focused on the reasons that induce the subjects to insert paragraph marks. Three experiments are presented. In the first one, subjects were asked to correct a text by reinserting paragraph marks in a text where they had been removed and then to orally explain theirs choices. The results show that subjects make a distinction between paragraph marks and sub-paragraph marks and we find whole parts of texts where no mark of paragraph at all is inserted. Introducing of paragraph mark seems to be the result of a whole combinaison of reasons (length of paragraph, writer's intention, etc. ). In the second experiment, a subject who wrote a paper is asked to explain the reasons that induced him to insert or not insert a paragraph mark in his text. A set of "if then" type rules was deducted. The main reason to insert a mark of paragraph is that the subject wants to insert a new idea. In the third experiment, we try to be more specific about this rule by including cognitive aspects (Fayol's hypothesis). We show that using paragraph marks must be considered in the context of all punctuation marks and that it is linked to two factors : the subject's mental representation and the size of the text to be produced. Two developments are considered : information retrieval in technical documents and text generation

Abstract:
Kaplan (1966) has claimed that certain organizational problems in non-native speakers' writing are due to the influence of L1 rhetorical patterns. Based on an examination of 600 papers written in English by students from different cultural backgrounds, Kaplan concluded that the Oriental students developed their ideas in an indirect, inwardly spiralling pattern. Such circular development contrasted with the linear structure of paragraphs written by English speakers.While Kaplan's conceptualizations have received considerable attention, there is a central problem with his analysis: his claims were based solely on compositions written in English.In this thesis, I examine 30 paragraphs of Chinese expository prose and 30 paragraphs of English expository prose randomly chosen from contemporary writings to see if they conform to Kaplan's model. In the first chapter, I present certain problems in the teaching of composition concerning paragraph development. A literature review is presented in Chapter Two. Chapter Three is a brief description of the modes and organization of expository Prose that Chinese students learn. Chapter Four shows the modes and organization of English expository prose. In Chapter Five, a representative sample of 30 paragraphs of Chinese expository prose examined are discussed. Chapter Six is discussion of representative English paragraphs. A brief discussion of the results of the examination is presented in Chapter Seven. Finally, a brief summary concludes the thesis.

Abstract:
Beim Austausch von Intellectual Properties (IP) entsteht das Problem, daß der Anwender oftmals nicht sicher feststellen kann, ob die gewünschte Parameterkombination unterstützt wird bzw. ob die IP mit den gewünschten Einstellungen korrekt arbeitet. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, eine mögliche Lösung zur Parameterprüfung bereitzustellen. Im Rahmen des vom Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) geförderten Projekts Intellectual Property Qualifikation für effizientes Systemdesign [IPQ] wurde dazu das Entwurfswerkzeug entwickelt. Anhand einer durch den Entwerfer vorgegebenen formalen Beschreibung der Parameter und ihrer Abhängigkeiten untereinander prüft eine vom Werkzeug automatisch generierte Testbenchkomponente, ob alle Bedingungen eingehalten werden. Des weiteren berechnet diese Komponente auf der Basis vorgegebener Gleichungen verschiedene Systemeigenschaften, wie beispielsweise die maximale Taktfrequenzabweichung zwischen Sender und Empfänger einer seriellen Übertragungsstrecke. Diese können dann vom Anwender mit der ihm vorliegenden Spezifikation verglichen werden. ist außerdem in der Lage, anhand der Parameterabhängigkeiten die verschiedenen Kombinationen von Einstellungen zu berechnen, die nötig sind, um den kompletten Parameterraum abzudecken, und diese in Form eines Parameter-Domänen-Graphen darzustellen. Mit Hilfe dieses Graphen ist der Anwender in der Lage, Kombinationen gezielt so auszuwählen, daß ein möglichst hoher Verifikationsgrad der IP erreicht wird, ohne unnötig viele Simulationen durchführen zu müssen.

L'étude se propose essentiellement l'élaboration d'un logiciel de reconnaissance multi police de textes dactylographiés et imprimés reposant uniquement sur la mise en œuvre des moyens de la micro-informatique. Après avoir fait le point sur l'état de la recherche après vingt ans d'informatique et consacré un chapitre aux problèmes actuels de la lecture optique, en particulier à celui de la segmentation, l'auteur expose l'élaboration de la méthode employée. Celle-ci définie, mise au point et testée, permet de lire treize polices parmi les plus utilisées. Elle ne comporte, pour l'uitilisateur, ni phase d'apprentissage, ni constitution de dictionnaire. Elle fait appel aux techniques arborescentes et synthétise des approches variées. La reconnaissance de l'écriture manuscrite est également abordée, elle traite de la reconnaissance des caractères isolés. Un logiciel est mis au point, à titre d'exemple, pour un type d'écriture donné. On arrive alors aux limites des possibilités actuelles de la micro-informatique, ce qui pose le problème du temps de reconnaissance. L'étude se termine par une application industrielle consacrée à la lecture optique de plaques indicatrices d'un système de transport.

Abstract:
Notre etude porte sur l'etat de la representation semantique transitoire, engendree par la lecture d'un court paragraphe evoquant un scenario, et sur l'evolution de cet etat au cours du temps. Nous examinons le niveau d'activation d'une cible representationnelle par la technique du sondage alliee a une tache de reconnaissance. Le temps de reponse a un mot-sonde est utilise comme indicateur du niveau d'activation de la cible correspondante. Nous evaluons l'influence de l'information precedant une cible textuelle sur le niveau d'activation de sa representation en faisant varier la premiere phrase d'un paragraphe. La reconnaissance des sondes semantiques (mots resumant une partie importante de l'information) est plus rapide quand la premiere phrase annonce le theme que lorsqu'elle est sans rapport avec le theme (experience 2). Nous suivons l'evolution de la cible en interpolant une activite arithmetique simple, de duree croissante, entre la fin de la lecture et le sondage. L'augmentation progressive des temps de reponse aux sondes en fonction de la duree de la tache interpolee (experience 1) va en faveur d'une desactivation progressive de la representation semantique en memoire de travail, concue comme la partie active de la memoire a long-terme. La presentation, avant le mot-test, d'un mot amorce appartenant a la phrase cible ou a une autre phrase, raccourcit les temps de reconnaissance a partir de 21 secondes de retention. L'amorce semble servir d'indice de recuperation. Le declin est moins progressif lorsque le type d'activite arithmetique est modifie (experience 3). Quand la sonde provient d'une partie peu importante d'un paragraphe, le declin est maximal des 7 secondes de retention (experience 4). Le declin est electif: il est plus lent pour les informations importantes que pour celles de moindre importance

Abstract:
L'application de l'article 86 (devenu l'article 82) a des incidences dans l'application d'autres regles telles que celles relatives aux ententes de l'article 85 (devenu l'article 81) et celle de l'article 90 (devenu l'article 86) paragraphes 1 et 2 du traite. D'une part, les instances communautaires ont apprecie les concepts d'abus de position dominante de l'article 86 (devenu l'article 82) et d'entente de l'article 85 (devenu l'article 81). L'etude a consiste a comparer les deux normes dans leur regime, leur effet. L'analyse a montre que ces deux articles qui envisagent des situations differentes, peuvent etre appliques de maniere concomitante. Cette approche a suscite, dans un premier temps, certaines inquietudes quant a une telle application qui ont, dans un second temps, ete levees. Depuis la pratique jurisprudentielle a impose une telle demarche. De cette application conjointe a emerge la notion de position dominante collective. . Cette notion s'est revelee nouvelle non pas dans son principe car elle est inscrite depuis l'origine dans le traite de rome, mais dans ses effets avec le concept d'entente. Les autorites communautaires tentent d'elaborer une definition de la domination collective dans le cadre de l'application des deux dispositions relatives a la concurrence mais egalement dans le cadre de l'application du reglement relatif aux operations de concentration. D'autre part, l'article 86 (devenu l'article 82) a ete utilise dans un domaine particulierement delicat qui est celui reserve aux autorites nationales dans la vie economique de l'etat membre. La question del'application de l'article 86 (devenu l'article 82) se pose a l'egard des paragraphes 1 et 2 de l'article 90 (devenu l'article 86). Ces deux dernieres regles envisagent l'existence d'un secteur public derogatoire aux regles de concurrence. Aussi, l'analyse de cette etude porte sur le point de savoir comment respecter la norme relative aux abus de position dominante et assurer l'existence d'un regime derogatoire a la norme de concurrence.

Abstract:
This dissertation discusses the effects of dyslexia on reading behavior and cognition. It does so by first outlining the overall incidence of dyslexia, providing current definitions, giving a history of scientific inquiry and discussing relevant contemporary research. Thirteen different analyses are then discussed (ten a priori and three post-hoc). Individuals with dyslexia were found to have increased fixation duration, first run dwell time, total dwell time, and refixation probability. The dyslexia group was also highly sensitive to lexical predictability. Within the reading network, the BOLD response was depressed in dyslexia during reading in the following regions: the left medial and inferior temporal gyrus, the left temporal pole, the right cerebellum, right occipital gyrus and the right parahippocampal gyrus. A second regions of interest analysis in the reading network revealed dyslexia was associated with a depressed BOLD response to lexical predictability in the following regions: left supplementary motor area, posterior middle frontal gyrus, and the left temporal pole. A regions of interest analysis in the oculomotor network revealed a depressed BOLD response in the following regions during reading: the left parietal eye fields and the cerebellum. One oculomotor region had a depressed BOLD response to lexical predictability due to dyslexia: the left frontal eye fields. This sensitivity to lexical predictability and depression in the BOLD response is suggestive of reduced input into higher cortical areas. Future study should be focused on finding the common origin of this bottom-up deficit.

Increasingly, technology has been used to provide access to academic curricula for students with moderate to severe intellectual disability. In the current pilot study, we used a multiple probe across participants design to evaluate the effectiveness of a technology-based instructional package on the opinion writing skills of three middle school students with moderate and severe intellectual disability. Findings suggest that the intervention resulted in improved performance across all three participants and that all participants maintained performance at levels greater than baseline. Limitations and implications for practice and future research are discussed.

Les exemptions de l'article 81, paragraphe 3 constituent un sujet digne du plus grand intérêt. Ces dernières n'ont pas suscité une grande attention depuis l'adoption du règlement nʿ17/62. De grands auteurs ont apprécié les différentes formes d'accords susceptibles de bénéficier d'exemptions. Cependant, la matière dans son ensemble ne suscitait pas l'attention qui lui est aujourd'hui portée. Les exemptions n'étaient jusqu'alors qu'une section minime du droit de la concurrence présentant moins d'attrait que l'interdiction des ententes (articles 81, paragraphe 1). Cependant, le droit des exemptions fait l'objet d'une réforme substantielle concernant sa mise en œuvre. En effet, les restrictions verticales et les accords horizontaux disposent désormais d'une nouvelle législation laissant apparaître une plus grande intervention des autorités nationales. La compétence exclusive de la Commission a été partiellement remise en cause. Cette modification est très importante puisqu'elle revient sur un principe largement affirmé par la Commission pendant de longues années. Le plus intéressant reste à venir. Une proposition de modification des textes concernant l'application des articles 81 et 82 est sur le point d'être adoptée. Il est prévu notamment que les juridictions nationales puissent désormais prononcer des exemptions. L'objectif final est de mettre en place un système d'exception légale en lieu et place du contrôle a priori.

Poursuivant la tradition médiévale selon laquelle le paragraphe sépare dans la controverse les arguments de différents adversaires, on définit généralement l'alinéa comme la marque d'un changement d'idée ou de thème sans considération des types d'énoncés, des contextes d'énonciation et des contraintes de production. La distinction entre textes linéaires et non linéaires permet d'identifier une grande diversité de paragraphes dont l'analyse dans les récits révèle une coïncidence remarquable avec la récurrence obstinée de changements de temps et ou de lieu et ou de personnage(s), et d'autre part un changement de moment énonciatif (rapport d'action ou de propos, description, explication, commentaire, évaluation. . . ). Dans 80 % des cas étudiés, le paragraphe narratif peut être décrit comme un épisode, partie de l'intrigue comprise entre deux entrées ou sorties de personnage(s) que recoupe un changement du cadre spatio-temporel de l'action et ou un changement de moment énonciatif. Mais les 20 % restants ne constituent pas un lot d'exceptions hétéroclites. Eux aussi montrent que l'alinéa est lie à la mise en mots, signe linguistique qui reflète non pas un affrontement entre des tiers mais un dialogue entre l'auteur et le lecteur

The indented lines of French printed narrative linear texts reveal a remarkable coincidence with the obstinate recurrence of changes in when, where and who, as well as, in the other hand, with changes in the local enonciative moment (report of action or speach, explanation, description, evaluation, etc. ) In 80 % of cases, narrative paragraph can be described as an episode, part of the plot between two character(s) entrances or exits, together with a change in place and time and textual orientation. As for the remaining 20 %, they are not oddities but confirm that indented line is a fully linguistic sign that does not reflect a conflict between arguers but a dialogue between the author and the reader
