Abstrak— Hidroponik menjadi salah satu alternatif bagi masyarakat yang ingin berkebun tetapi tidak memiliki lahan yang luas. Hidroponik dengan metode pengairan Deep Flow Technique (DFT) adalah jenis bercocok tanam dimana tanaman ditanam pada air yang dangkal, dan larutan nutrisi terus mengalir di sekitar akar tanaman. Kadar nutrisi yang diperlukan pada setiap jenis tanaman tentunya berbeda beda. Perlunya pemantauan tingkat kepekatan larutan nutrisi secara rutin akan menjadikan masalah bagi masyarakat yang hanya memiliki sedikit waktu luang maka dibuatlah sistem kontrol dengan menggunakan kontrol fuzzy, sistem kontrol yang dirancang pada penelitian ini memiliki kemampuan mengatur nilai atau kadar kepekatan larutan nutrisi teknik hidroponik sistem DFT secara berkelanjutan berdasarkan tingkat penyerapan nutrisi pada tanaman tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian tingkat keberhasilan 96,875 % untuk nutrisi dan 96.375% untuk air dalam mencapai set point. Pada ketercapaian durasi output memiliki nilai keberhasilan 98,4% untuk output nutrisi dan 98,5% untuk durasi output air dari perbandingan pemodelan di MatLab. Hasil pengujian pada tanaman packcoy, yang menggunakan sistem kontrol pertumbuhanya sedikit lebih baik dari pada packcoy tanpa sistem kontrol, dengan tanaman tertinggi 16 cm dengan menggunakan sistem kontrol sedangkan packcoy tanpa sistem kontrol tertinggi 15 cm

Abstract:
We show that for a confocally elliptical hollow section under Saint-Venant’s torsion, there always exists a confocally elliptical closed contour inside the section that exhibits no warping. This property is generally true without any regard to the thickness or the aspect ratio of the hollow section, as long as the inner and the outer ellipses are confocal. This property allows us to apply Packham and Shail’s (Packham, B. A, and Shail, R., 1978, “St. Venant Torsion of Composite Cylinders,” J. Elast., 8, pp. 393–407) superposition method for the torsion solutions of a two-phase elliptical hollow section. Previously, this superposition method is only applicable to symmetric compound sections with respect to a straight line or a circular arc.

This article, written by JPT Technology Editor Chris Carpenter, contains highlights of paper SPE 206516, “Stuck-Pipe Early Detection in Extended-Reach Wells Using Ensemble Method of Machine Learning,” by Rushad Ravilievich Rakhimov, SPE, Schlumberger, and Oleg Valerievich Zhdaneev, SPE, and Konstantin Nikolaevich Frolov, SPE, Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, et al. The paper has not been peer reviewed. The objective of this paper is to describe the experience of using a machine-learning model prepared by the ensemble method to prevent stuck-pipe events during construction of extended-reach wells. The tasks performed include collecting, analyzing, and cleaning historical data; selecting and preparing a machine-learning model; and testing it on real-time data by means of a desktop application. The idea is to display the solution at the rig floor, allowing the driller to take actions quickly for prevention of stuck-pipe events. Problem Analysis Packoff is the blockage of the annular space with drilled cuttings or parts of rocks fallen from wellbore walls. In a packoff situation, circulation is severely limited or impossible. With an inadequate response to packoff, fracturing of rocks below the bottomhole assembly (BHA) can occur, which leads to losses of drilling fluid and possible kick. In addition to time spent and technological risks, high expense is possible. In a worst-case scenario, the BHA can be left in hole and the bore must be redrilled, leading to a multimillion-dollar financial loss caused by nonproductive time. Packoff events fall mainly into two categories: - Caused by a cuttings bed that occurs when drilled cuttings are caught up while backreaming out of hole too promptly - Caused by wellbore collapse because of insufficient mud properties During the past 10 years, 28 wells have been drilled in the field of interest. Two hundred and twenty-seven incidents associated with stuck-pipe events have been registered. The light cases required an additional rereaming of the problematic interval, with a loss of time of up to 20 minutes. The most severe cases resulted in multimillion-dollar financial losses because of the BHA being lost in hole and the time spent on redrilling the wellbore. Classification of the incidents showed that 24 cases (11%) belong to the differential type of sticking, while 17 cases (8%) belong to the wellbore-geometry type and 186 cases (81%) to packoff events. The data collected at the field show that packoffs were encountered only during backreaming operations. Packoffs evolve rapidly. Thus, in most cases on the studied field, the time interval between trouble-free operation and sticking events is between 20 and 90 seconds (Fig. 1). Unlike physical modeling methods, machine-learning methods serve as a base for development of tools that work solely from historical data, allowing a more-precise simulation of real parameter behavior. Another advantage of machine-learning methods is the ability to select only the best historical cases for use. However, the use of historical data for prediction of downhole accidents in the well-construction process is not a novel approach. It has been used in the industry for more than 30 years. Abstract:
Pear is a typical fruit of temperate zones with high nutritive values and organoleptic properties, but when this fresh fruit being harvested, it will undergo chemical changes which can cause spoilage and product deterioration. Freezing could be as a preservative method to maintain quality attributes (colour, texture) of fresh produce that change over time. The purpose of this study is to determine ascorbic acid content and antioxidant activity of frozen fruit treated with osmotic solution. Pears were pre-treated with blanching, osmotic and both blanching and osmotic solution prior to freezing. Two varieties of pear fruit which are Asian pear and Packham pear were analyzed for physicochemical (colour and texture), antioxidative properties (ascorbic acid content, antioxidant activity and total phenolic content) and sensory acceptability. The pears were subjected to different pre-treatments prior to freezing such as blanching and osmotic solution during storage. The results showed that colour attributes of frozen pears were significantly affected by treatment which in contrast to texture properties of frozen pears during storage. Ascorbic acid content of frozen Packham pear was recorded the highest (6.38 ± 0.96 mg/100 g) after treated in osmotic solution compared to frozen Asian pear, the highest (4.62 ± 1.15 mg/100 g) was found in blanching treatment prior to storage, both tested after day 1 of storage. When treated in blanching treatment, the antioxidant activity of frozen Packham pear using DPPH assay exhibited (84.61 ± 0.69 %) contains high scavenging activity on day 1, while for Asian pear (67.63 ± 2.37 %) in blanching treatment on day 3. Using seven-point hedonic scale, sensory acceptability shows that frozen Asian pear treated in osmotic solution was highly rated among consumers with overall acceptance of 5.80 ± 0.85. Thus, combination of pre-treatment which were osmotic and blanching and freezing helps to retain the quality of frozen pears during period of storage.

One of the most significant phenomena in the processing of horticultural crops, leading to the damaging of the fruit, is fatigue due to repeated mechanical stress, which endangers the integrity of the produce, especially during transport. In the event of such damages, the immediate environment of the damaged fruit, or even the entire batch of crops may be in danger, as the biological processes leading to spoilage are not limited to the individual crop damaged. In the case of repeated effects, a force less than the static limit value is sufficient to cause spoilage, but in addition to the load, the material properties of the given crop, as well as the energy balance observed during damage play important roles in determining the mechanical resistance. Accordingly, in our work, a description of the spoilage process is built on the material models most characteristic of the selected crops, on the dissipated energy indicators measured during repeated loads, and on the definition and determination of the spoilage time. In the experiments, the fatigue indices of Golden Delicious apples, making up most of the apple production of the European Union, and of long shelflife Packham pears are compared by setting up linear regression models.

A kertészeti termények feldolgozási folyamataiban az egyik legjelentősebb, a gyümölcs tönkremeneteléhez vezető jelenség az ismétlődő mechanikai igénybevételek miatt bekövetkező kifáradás, ami főleg a szállítás során veszélyezteti a termények épségét. Ilyen sérülések esetében a károsodott gyümölcs közvetlen környezete, vagy akár a teljes terményhalmaz is veszélybe kerülhet, hiszen a romláshoz vezető biológiai folyamatok nem korlátozódnak a károsodott terményegyedre. Az ismétlődő hatások esetében a statikus határtértékhez képest kisebb erő is elegendő a tönkremenetelhez, de a terhelés mellett az adott termény anyagi tulajdonságai, valamint a károsodás közben megfigyelhető energiamérleg is fontos szerepet játszik a mechanikai ellenállás meghatározásában. Munkánkban ennek megfelelően a választott terményeket leginkább jellemző anyagmodellekre, az ismételt terhelések során mért disszipált-energia mutatókra, valamint a tönkremeneteli idő definiálására és meghatározására építjük a tönkremeneteli folyamat leírását. A kísérletek során az Európai Unió almatermelésének legnagyobb arányú képviselője, a Golden Delicious alma, valamint a hosszú tárolhatóságú Packham körte kifáradási jellemzőit hasonlítjuk össze lineáris regressziós modellek felállításával.

Smart outdoor hidroponik dengan pengaturan penyinaran matahari dan hujan berbasis mikrokontroller bertujuan untuk mempermudah bertanaman hidroponik packcoy dengan media sekam bakar. Smart outdoor hidroponik menggunakan Arduino Uno ATmega328 sebagai pengendali utama komponen elektronik, dan diprogram melalui piranti lunak Arduino Integrated Developtment Environtment (Arduino IDE). Smart outdoor hidroponik dikendalikan berdasarkan waktu dan hujan. Pengendalian berbasis waktu menggunakan real time clock (rtc) tipe DS3231, dan pengendalian paparan hujan menggunakan sensor hujan. Pengaturan waktu dibagi menjadi 4 bagian berdasarkan waktu buka/tutup atap pelindung tanaman. Pada pukul 6 sampai pukul 10 atap terbuka lampu mati, apabila hujan atap akan tertutup lampu menyala. Pukul 10 sampai pukul 15 atap tertutup lampu nyala, kondisi hujan tidak berpengaruh. Pukul 15 sampai pukul 18 atap terbuka lampu mati, apabila hujan atap akan tertutup lampu menyala. Pukul 18 sampai pukul 6 atap tertutup lampu mati, kondisi hujan tidak berpengaruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tanaman packcoy yang menggunakan smart outdoor hidroponik mengalami pertumbuhan yang lebih baik dibandingkan yang tidak dikontrol oleh sistem. Tanpa campur tangan manusia, menggunakan sistem smart outdoor hidropnik, tanaman pakchoy tumbuh memiliki daun 2-3 helai dan tinggi batang 1cm dalam waktu 7 hari, sementara tanpa sistem tanaman pakchoy hanya mampu berkecambah pada hari keempat, dan selanjutnya mati.

Pears have a very sensitive epidermis and are prone to signal mechanical blemishes, which result in reduced visual quality and low consumer acceptance. The objective of this work was to identify critical points and the magnitude of impact forces on a packing line at a commercial packinghouse. The effect of injuries on ripening and quality of ´Packham´s Triumph´ pears was also evaluated after cold storage. The packing line was scrutinized on its transfer points, fruit drop heights and cushioning overlays, which allowed to acquire the maximum accelerations on each spot. The maximum acceleration forces were reproduced in the lab with ‘Packham’s Triumph’ pears to evaluate the effects on fruit quality after cold storage. Four critical points were noticed on the packing line: at the transfer from the conveyor belt to the lifting rollers, at the transfer from the lifting rollers to the washing ramp with rotatory brushes, at the entrance to the singulator at the end of the conveyor belt and at the drop from the sizer to the packing stalls. Ripening of ‘Packham’s Triumph’ pears invariably came about during cold storage, and independently of the imposed impacts. The impacts under the circumstances of the test did not affect the quality of ´Packham´s Triumph´ pears kept for up to 120 days at cold storage followed by five days at room temperature.

Abstract:
Modeling of Iron metal diffusion in liquid lead using molecular dynamics simulation has been done. Molecular dynamics simulations are used to predict the value of physical quantities that we want to know based on the designed material model and on the input simulation data. In this research, effect of different geometry of material models was observed to know the diffusion coefficient. The material system was iron (Fe) in liquid lead (Pb). The material models is designed using Packmol software to get the initial configuration of atom's arrangement by inputting the material's characteristics such as mass, density, volume, number of atoms. This work examines the diffusion coefficient of iron in molten lead metal with the geometric shape of the simulation system in the form of iron in molten metal for various simulation models of boxes in a box, balls in a box and balls in balls. To design simulated geometric shapes we use the Packmol program. To calculate the diffusion coefficient we use the molecular dynamics simulation method. To find out which geometry is suitable, we compare the diffusion coefficient of the simulation results with existing references. The diffusion coefficient value of the spherical iron (Fe) system in the spherical liquid lead (Pb) has the best value compared to the other two forms with an accuracy rate of 99.94% because it is influenced by the even distribution of atoms in each part.

Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) or commonly called mustard spoon includes vegetable plants that are heat resistant, so that they can be planted in the lowlands to highlands The production of packcoy plants experiencing ups and downs in 2010 is the peak production of 141.25 quality / ha and continues to decline to 2014 became 114.35 quality / ha. Efforts to increase packcoy production can be done by using organic fertilizers from agricultural waste, manure, green manure, human waste, and compost instead of nutrient sources. This study aims to determine the response of growth and production of Pakcoy plants to the provision of NASA POC organic fertilizer. This study uses factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 treatment factors, namely: Chicken Cage Organic Fertilizer (A) which consists of 3 levels, namely: A0 = 0 tons / ha, A1 = 15 tons / ha (158 g / polybag), A2 = 30 tons / ha (316 g / polybag). NASA POC concentration (N) consists of 4 levels, namely: N0 = 0% (control), N1 = 1 cc / liter of water, N2 = 2 cc / liter of water, N3 = 3 cc / liter of water. The results showed that NASA's POC showed a significant effect on pakcoy plant height, the use of liquid organic fertilizer dosage (2cc / ltr) had a significant effect on plant height. The highest pakcoy plant height is found in the treatment of N2 (2 cc / ltr) of 25.50 cm. The net weight per plot was obtained at the N2 treatment of 262.92 grams

O trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de avaliar fenotipicamente a compatibilidade morfológica entre cultivares 'copa de pereiras europeias' e porta-enxertos de marmeleiro através das variáveis de crescimento das plantas, como o incremento de diâmetro (mm) do tronco da cultivar e do porta-enxerto; diferença de diâmetro entre a cultivar e o porta-enxerto; incompatibilidade 'translocada'; incompatibilidade 'localizada'; e análise da conexão vascular no ponto de enxertia pela imersão em solução corante de Ácido Fuccínico 0,08%. Os experimentos foram conduzidos em pomares de pereiras europeias na região de Urupema, estado de Santa Catarina, durante os ciclos de cultivo 2011/12, 2012/13 e 2013/14. As combinações de cultivares de pereiras europeias e porta-enxertos avaliados foram a 'Abbè Fetel'/'Adams', 'Decana du Comice'/'Adams', 'Clapp's Favourite'/'EMA', 'Rocha'/'Adams', 'Packham´s Triumph'/'EMA' e 'Santa Maria'/'Adams'. A combinação 'Clapp´s Favourite'/'EMA' apresentou incompatibilidade do tipo 'localizada' pela descontinuidade vascular na região de união do enxerto, impedindo a passagem do corante. As combinações 'Rocha'/'Adams' e 'Abbè Fetel'/'Adams' não apresentaram incompatibilidade de enxertia. Nessas combinações, foram observadas união vascular contínua entre as cultivares e os porta-enxertos. As combinações 'Santa Maria'/'Adams', 'Decana du Comice'/'Adams' e 'Packham´s Triumph'/'EMA' apresentaram boa união na zona de enxertia pela continuidade da linha de união na casca e no lenho. A combinação 'Clapp´s Favourite'/'EMA', devido às regiões de incompatibilidade encontradas, não é uma combinação recomendada nas condições experimentais avaliadas. As combinações 'Abbè Fetel'/'Adams' e 'Rocha'/'Adams' são as mais indicadas para plantio, devido à total compatibilidade encontrada entre a cultivar e o porta-enxerto. As combinações 'Santa Maria'/'Adams', 'Decana du Comice'/'Adams' e 'Packham´s Triumph'/'EMA' podem ser recomendadas, devido à compatibilidade parcial de enxertia, sendo indicadas para alta e super densidades de plantio.</p>

Aroma plays an important role in fruit quality and varies among different fruit cultivars. In this study, a sensitive and accurate method based on headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS) was developed to comprehensively compare aroma components of five pear cultivars. In total, 241 volatile compounds were identified and the predominant volatile compounds were esters (101 compounds), followed by alcohols (20 compounds) and aldehydes (28 compounds). The longyuanyangli has the highest relative concentration (838.12 ng/g), while the Packham has the lowest (208.45 ng/g). This study provides a practical method for pear aroma analysis using SPME and GC×GC-TOFMS.

We consider the problem of estimating 𝔼[f(U1, …, Ud)], where (U1, …, Ud) denotes a random vector with uniformly distributed marginals. In general, Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) is a powerful tool for solving this kind of high-dimensional numerical integration problem. In the case of dependent components of the random vector (U1, …, Ud) one can achieve more accurate results by using Latin hypercube sampling with dependence (LHSD). We state a central limit theorem for the d-dimensional LHSD estimator, by this means generalising a result of Packham and Schmidt. Furthermore we give conditions on the function f and the distribution of (U1, …, Ud) under which a reduction of variance can be achieved. Finally we compare the effectiveness of Monte Carlo and LHSD estimators numerically in exotic basket option pricing problems.

Foram conduzidos dois experimentos para estudar o efeito do anelamento e do paclobutrazol na produção e absorção de macronutrientes em pereira cv Packham´s Triumph, no munícipio de São Joaquim-SC, localizado a 1.400 m de altitude, em pomar comercial, utilizando plantas adultas.O delineamento utilizado no primeiro e segundo foi o de blocos casualizados. No primeiro estudo, foram utilizados sete tratamentos: 1)testemunha; 2) 1,5 g /planta do paclobutrazol, aplicados no solo; 3) 3,0 g/planta de paclobutrazol, aplicados no solo; 4 ) 4,5 g/planta de paclobutrazol, aplicados no solo; 5) anelamento simples (1 anel); 6) anelamento duplo realizado (dois anéis), e 7 ) anelamento pleno (um anelamento seguido de outro anelamento no mesmo local após a cicatrização do primeiro). No segundo experimento, os tratamentos foram: 1)-testemunha; 2) 2 g/planta de paclobutrazol, aplicados o solo; 3 ) 4 g/planta de paclobutrazol, aplicados no solo; 4 )-1.000 ppm de paclobutrazol em aplicação foliar; 5 ) 2.000 ppm de paclobutrazol em aplicação foliar; 6 ) anelamento simples, e 7) anelamento duplo. A maior produção foi observada no anelamento pleno e no anelamento duplo. O anelamento teve maior efeito na produção do que o paclobutrazol, e este via solo teve maior efeito do que a aplicação foliar. Os tratamentos não influenciaram nos níveis de nutrientes no fruto, com exceção do potássio. O maior teor de potássio foi encontrado na testemunha que apresentou o maior tamanho de frutos.

Parasitic weed species of the genus Orobanche are serious threat for the production of several crops in Europe, Africa and Asia. Research on resistant host plant varieties is one of the most effective management strategies for this parasitic weed. In this study, the susceptibility of twenty-nine tomato varieties to broomrape infection (Orobanche aegyptiaca) under greenhouse conditions was investigated. The employed experimental design was completely randomized with three replications. Differences in susceptibility to infection were monitored among tomato varieties based on their difference in the number of emerged shoots of broomrape and broomrape dry weight (shoots and tubercles). Date of Orobanche emergence varied over a period of 3 to 30 days between varieties. Very late infection was monitored for varieties of Cal-jN3, Viva, Caligen 86, Packmor, CSX 5013, Hyb. PS 6515 and Hyb Petopride5. Differences in the growth and fruit yield among tomato varieties were also found in response to broomrape infestation. Moderate levels of resistance were obtained in Viva, Caligen 86, Hyb. PS 6515, Hyb.Firenze (PS 8094) and Cal-jN3 among other tomato varieties. In contrast, varieties of Kimia-Falat, Hyb. Petopride II and Hyb.AP865 were the most susceptible hosts to Orobanche aegyptiaca.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o hábito de frutificação e produção de cultivares de pereira (Pyrus communis) enxertadas sobre porta‑enxertos de marmeleiro (Cydonia oblonga) e de pereira (P. calleryana). O experimento foi realizado durante o inverno de 2009 e 2010, em pomar de pereiras conduzido em líder central, em espaçamento 1,0x5,0 m com três cultivares de pereira (Carrick, Packham e Williams) combinadas com um porta‑enxerto de pereira (Clone D6 de P. calleryana) e 15 de marmeleiro. Foram avaliadas as seguintes variáveis: percentagem de dardos, lamburdas, brindilas vegetativas, brindilas floríferas e de bolsas; número total de gemas floríferas; produção por planta; e eficiência produtiva. O hábito de frutificação das cultivares de pereira é influenciado pelos porta‑enxertos, principalmente no que se refere à formação de lamburdas. Em geral, observou-se relação inversa entre percentagem de dardos e de lamburdas, e entre eficiência produtiva e vigor, para todas as combinações entre copa e porta‑enxerto. Para potencializar a produção, o manejo cultural nos pomares das cultivares avaliadas, principalmente por ocasião da poda, deve ser orientado de acordo com o porta‑enxerto utilizado e o hábito de frutificação de cada combinação.

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah introduksi budidaya dan teknologi fermentasi rumput Pakchong-1. sebagai pakan ternak sapi. Rumput ini merupakan hidrida dari rumput gajah Rumput Pakchong pertama kali diperkenalkan di Thailand oleh Dr. Krailas Kiyotthong, Departemen Peternakan Kementerian Pertanian Thailand (Somsiri dan Vivanpatarakij, 2015). Dibandingkan rumput gajah, rumput Pakchong 1, mempunyai produktivitas dan kualitas yang lebih tinggi. Disamping teknik budidaya, diintroduksikan juga teknologi pengawetan untuk rumput ini. Dengan adanya pengawetan, diharapkan dapat mengatasi kebutuhan hijauan pada musim kemarau. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Kelompok Tani Sidodadi Desa Rantau Fajar di Kecamatan Raman Utara, Lampung Timur. Manfaat yang didapat dalam kegiatan pengabdian adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak tentang budidaya rumput Pakchong, dan juga memahami teknologi pengawetan rumput. Kegiatan pembinaan kepada peternak dilakukan dengan cara sebagai berikut: 1) Penyuluhan, meliputi kegiatan ceramah mengenai budidaya rumput dan teknologi pengawetan. 2) Demostrasi demplot penanaman Rumput Pakchong-1, ; dan 3. Demostrasi pengawetan hijauan dengan cara fermentasi atau yang lebih dikenal dengan silase. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan dilakukan pada tanggal, 13 Juni 2021 kegiatan penyuluhan dihadiri 10 orang petani yang tergabung dalam kelompok tani Sidodadi, materi yang disampaikan meliputi: 1. Teknik budidaya rumput pakchong 1. 2. Teknologi pengawetan hijauan. Setelah penyuluhan selesai, dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan demplot penanaman rumput Pakchong-1. Penanaman ini dilakukan pada lahan petani dengan luas demplot sekitar 1200 m2. Kegiatan penanaman diawali dengan pengolahan lahan, pemilihan bahan tanam, dilanjutkan dengan penanaman. Rumput yang telah tumbuh dengan baik selajutnya dipanen untuk dibuat pakan awetan berupa silase. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilanjutkan dengan kunjungan kedua ke lokasi pada tanggal 5 September 2021, dengan materi demonstrasi pembuatan silase. Pembuatan silase diawali dengan pencacahan rumput yang sebelumnya sudah ditanam pada penyuluhan pertama. Setelah dicacah, rumput tersebut dicampur dengan dedak, lalu dimasukkan ke dalam wadah tong plastic sambil dipadatkan. Lama proses fermentasi sekitar 3 minggu. Semua kegiatan pengabdian diikuti dengan antusias oleh anggota kelompok tani Sidodadi.

The species of the hygropetric water scavenger beetle genus Oocyclus Sharp, 1882 are reviewed for Ecuador. The genus has not previously been reported from the country. Twelve new species are described: O. ancho sp. n., O. ankas sp. n., O. bellus sp. n., O. kichwa sp. n., O. lepidus sp. n., O. packha sp. n., O. radiatus sp. n., O. rupestris sp. n., O. sumak sp. n., O. ustulatus sp. n., O. yantzaza sp. n., and O. zamora sp. n. One previously described species is newly reported for Ecuador: O. sharpi Short & Perkins 2004. There is at least one additional species that is part of a species complex that includes O. morgani García-Hernández, 2009 from Colombia and O. trujillo Short & García, 2010 from Venezuela. One new synonymy is proposed: the Venezuelan species O. zulianus Short & García, 2010 syn. n. is placed as a junior subjective synonym of O. sharpi Short & Perkins, 2004. A key to all described species known from the Andes region of South America is provided.

In this paper, a novel control-loop concept is presented to investigate the viscoelastic properties of different pome fruits. Repeated mechanical effects are one of the most important risk factors during the postharvest procedures, so our work aimed to expand knowledge in the field. The actual investigations involved Golden Delicious apples and Packham pears. The developed model is based on the Poynting–Thomson body and, during the validating dynamic creep tests, different repeated compressive loads were applied. The examined frequencies were chosen from the most common components of the frequency distribution during the transportation process; the given range is responsible for the highest volume of fruit damage and the most extensive losses. The identified mathematical system determines the viscoelastic model parameters with the best fit to the measured creep data. The model properties of the tested fruit textures are compared in six different frequency setups, with the inspected pome species showing different elastic and viscous responses for the adjusted load conditions. The custom testing device with variable load functions and the proposed solution allow system identification with a wide range of setup possibilities. The resulted viscoelastic parameters can be used for further failure analysis and for the comparison of different pome fruit materials.

El estudio de la aplicación de recubrimientos sobre la pera es muy escaso, por ese motivo la investigación tuvo como objetivo “Evaluar el efecto que tiene la cera de abeja y cera de carnauba sobre la vida útil postcosecha de pera (Packham´s triumph)”, la evaluación se llevó acabo en la Universidad Privada de Tacna, laboratorio de análisis de productos agroindustriales. Para ello se empleó cera de carnauba y cera abeja. Mediante experimentos previos se formuló tratamientos con cera de abeja (TCA), con cera de carnauba (TCC) y un tratamiento mezcla (TM, “cera de abeja y cera de carnauba”) donde resultó que el recubrimiento con mayor estabilidad fue mezcla de 40 % cera de abeja y 60 % cera de carnauba, para efectos de análisis se identificó los parámetros necesarios a medir, como son los sólidos solubles totales (SST), la acidez titulable, el pH, el peso, el color, el CO2 y la Firmeza. Se concluye que el tratamiento mezcla (TM, “cera de abeja 40 % y cera de carnauba60 %”) tuvo mejores resultados, aumentado la vida útil en cinco y seis días adicionales, los datos obtenido a los 17 días de estudio fueron, sólidos solubles totales (11,3 °brix), la acidez titulable (0,0415 %), el pH (4,98), el peso (13,48 %), el color (café verdoso), el CO2 (27352.59 mg. CO2/Kg.h) y la Firmeza (2,54 N).

It has enabled wells to be produced to water cuts higher than 90 per cent, increasing the oil recovery from the fields by up to 35 per cent.Gas lift work in Bass Strait to date has included the use of special packoff gas lift assemblies for wells with sliding sleeves, the development of a tool to assist the opening of the sleeves, improved operating techniques to limit slugging from gas-lifted wells, and the testing of gas lift performance. Gas lifting has been more successful than expected, and as a result, workovers initially planned to install full gas lift strings for older wells have not been necessary. The two phase flow correlations available have been improved to match the performance of the gas-lifted wells. The correlations are now used to design tubing strings with a number of gas lift mandrels prior to running the initial completions and to select the optimum gas injection depth.Future work in gas lift for Bass Strait will involve the optimisation and automation of lift gas distribution on the platforms. Gas lift will also be used for planned future developments, including mini-platforms and subsea completions.

Abstract:
Background: Banyuwangi Regency is a popular tourist location in East Java Province. However, after the beginning of the Covid-19 epidemic in early 2020, visitor visitation have significantly declined. This causes a decline in people's economic activity. One of the affected communities was Kemiri in the Singojuruh sub-district, where many young people lost their jobs. Objective: To empower the Karang Taruna youth community in Kemiri village to be entrepreneurs by planting a variety of vegetables such as pakcoi, lettuce, red spinach, and others using the NFT (nutrient film technique) hydroponic system method on unproductive land. Method: This community service activity is divided into five activities, namely training on vegetable plant cultivation using NFT hydroponic system techniques, making green house, making hydroponic installation, planting and maintaining of packcoi and red spinach, harvesting and packaging. Results: After training in basic hydroponic techniques, how to seed seeds and making AB mix nutrients, Karang Taruna youth can practice growing pakcoi and red spinach hydroponically in the green house. At the age of four weeks, after the seedlings are transferred into the hydroponic system, pakcoi vegetables and red spinach can be harvested and ready for sale. Success indicators are measured using a pre-test and post-test to determine mitra's knowledge regarding hydroponic cultivation techniques. Conclusion: Mitra understanding and practicing hydroponic vegetable cultivation techniques. In addition, the youth of Karang Taruna Desa Kemiri, Kab. Banyuwangi, can supplement their income by selling produced veggies.

Abstract:
The culture of meristems, shoot tips, and axillary buds leads to the method of in vitro multiplication that is easily used and safe to obtain uniform copies with no undesirable variations. This work aimed to propagate five in vitro pear cultivars: Housui, Carrick, Nijisseiki, Packham's Triumph, and Red Bartlett. The work was carried out in the Tissue Culture Laboratory at Embrapa Temperate Climate. The plants were sprayed with benomyl (1.0 mg./L) and agrimicine (2.4 mg/L) in the fields, 2 weeks before the shoots were collected. The shoots were then cut with two buds with no leaves and desinfested with alcohol 70% for 10 s and 1% sodium hypochloride for 20 min, 50 explants, 25 buds, and 25 meristems, were then transferred to test tubes containing MS salts and vitamins, myo-inositol (100.0 mg/L), sucrose (30.0 g/L), agar (6.0 g/L), added to in mg/L: BAP (1.0), GA3 (0.1), and NAA (0.01). Three pear cultivars were used for in vitro multiplication (`Nijisseiki', `Red Bartlett', and `Housui') by using the same basal salt with N reduced to strength, added to (in mg/L): BAP (1.6), NAA (0.16). The material was kept in growth room under 16-h photoperiod, 25 ± 2 °C and 19 μMol·m-2·s-1 of flux radiation. The in vitro contaminations were mainly due to bacteria derived from the bud material (71.5%). Higher oxidation for meristem material was observed for `Carrick' and `Packham`s Triumph'. `Red Bartlett' showed the best results for all the variable studied, although all cultivars in general presented low response.
