Abstract:

The P.A.C.E. operational methodology presented here is designed to assist subordinate crew members in resolving the basic question of the junior airman: “To Intervene or Not to Intervene?.” The P.A.C.E. system has unraveled “The Copilot's Catch 22: You are damned if you ignore the Captain's mistakes; you are damned if you do something about them.” The four operational procedure steps of P.A.C.E. establish a systematic intervention progression of inquiries to reduce risks at each level of the sequence. The P.A.C.E. skills enable subordinate flight crew members to use proven operationally based procedures to effectively intervene when a Captain is not performing up to reasonable professional standards. P.A.C.E. procedures have been developed from case studies of voice recorder transcripts of National Transportation Safety Board aircraft accident reports. The P.A.C.E. methodology provides the skill and knowledge to implement new, operationally relevant components into Crew Resource Management training for each individual organization.

Abstract:

In the article have been analyzed the features and the criminal threat of an offence of conducting business activity on the premises of the Extermination Memorial or its protection zone without the required consent, specified in Art. 19 § 1 of the Act on the protection of the areas of former nazi death camps (p.a.d.c.). In this context – the issues of the subject of protection, verb feature, economic activity and its regulation-rationing, object, objective side, place of committing the offense, criminal threat – are raised. The economic activity, referred to in Art. 19 § 1 p.a.d.c., is an organized gainful activity that is carried out on one’s own behalf and on a continuous manner. This activity may take a limited form, defined in Art. 8 § 1 p.a.d.c. This offense: may be committed intentionally or unintentionally, has common and formal character. The perpetrator of this offense is subject to a fine, which may – exceptionally – be replaced by socially useful work or a penalty of arrest.

Abstract:

O texto apresenta dados de pesquisa em curso cujo objeto de estudo é a educação especial e de jovens e adultos, entendida como parte do direito à educação para todos. Problematiza como os estudantes, à luz das desigualdades e preconceitos que marcam suas vidas, foram impediram de gozar de seu direito. Esses estudantes, Público-Alvo da Educação Especial (P.A.E.E.) e da Educação de Jovens e Adultos, vivenciam grandes dificuldades em razão dos desdobramentos produzidos pelas Políticas Educacionais no Brasil. O texto discute a Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), especificamente a forma como a EJA e os estudantes P.A.E.E foram excluídos do debate, o que nos leva à seguinte questão: a quem serve de fato a BNCC? Por fim, apresenta exemplo de prática pedagógica curricular, planejada por professores críticos e mostra como a referida prática se tornou instrumento de luta e resistência para os alunos.

ABSTRACT: The Department of Accounting at our university implemented a Principles of Accounting Competency Exam (PACE) in an attempt to stem the high failure and withdrawal rates in Intermediate Accounting I. To support the PACE, we created a menu of study alternatives for students needing remedial instruction. During the period under review, we observed evidence of improvement in student success in Intermediate I. This discussion describes the PACE and its implementation during Fall 2006, but more importantly, it describes the supplemental measures we have taken to prepare students for the PACE.

Abstract:

The present work is an analysis with comments of the model created by Dr. Roberto Kertész. The organization is a complex social reality that is defined as a set of people, a deliberate internal structure and a common goal. This is achieved through processes of transformation of certain "inputs" to the system - organization, obtained from the context or environment. The P.A.L.T is a systemic model, in which the organization has the opportunity to regulate its activity. The levels of the efficiency of the organizational performance will obviously depend on the quality of these interactions and the study of the nature of them will allow the management to achieve a set of more valuable results. In order to systematize this set of knowledge, it is convenient to group its components in a model that is both analytical and integral. The PALT model stands for this objective, which means the systemic integration of the Psychological, Administrative, Legal and Technical variables.

AbstractUBVRI photometry and radial velocity measurements of EU Tau obtained during three weeks in November/December 1987 have been used to (1) confirm the period, P = 2.1025 days, and epoch established by Fernie (1987, P.A.S.P.,99, 1093) and earlier observers, and (2) investigate apparent phase and/or amplitude discrepancies in the light curve first reported by Gieren and Matthews (1987, A.J.,94, 431). Comparison of these new data with photometry collected by different observers covering over two decades suggests that the light curve of EU Tau undergoes short-lived (less than about 2 pulsation cycles) changes which appear to occur with a period of roughly 19 – 21 days. Various possible sources of modulation – including binarity, double-mode beating and nonradial pulsations – are considered and rejected as unsatisfactory.

El porcentaje de resocialización en el sistema carcelario y penitenciario Colombiano es muy bajo, por tal razón esta investigación buscó ilustrar alternativas para llegar a niveles sobresaliente de rehabilitación del penado, pero también vislumbró las grandes falencias que atraviesa el sistema, como el hacinamiento y la precaria infraestructura existente, además de analizar el sistema P.A.S.O, el estudio hermenéutico realizado a la ley 65 de 1993 y la revisión bibliográfica e histórica sobre la evolución de la pena en Colombia y sus fines demuestra que en materia de reeducación penitenciaria el Estado está en deuda pues no hay grandes avances en esta materia, por otra parte este manuscrito es uno de los primero en su clase, realizando un estudio minucioso de los diferentes factores que impiden la reinserción social consecuencialmente este estudio aporta actualidad de la situación carcelaria del país y posibles soluciones

Abstract:

An accurate determination of the “time-of-flight” in swarm experiments with a parallel plate drift chamber requires that the time evolution of the charge induced on the collector is linear. This is obtained in very large chambers where the edge effects can be neglected. However, the experimental conditions of high-mobility carriers and highly pressurized gases impose some constraints on the acceptable drift cell dimensions. We have numerically calculated the effects of the finite size of the collector by exploiting the methods of the images. The numerical results have been experimentally checked using a suitable drift cell of variable geometry. As a result, a quantitative limit on the ratio between the collector radius and the drift distance has been established in order to design drift cells for which the edge effects can be neglected. Rakstā pētītas padomju folkloristikas un etnogrāfijas kategorijas un teksti no 1920. līdz 1991. gadam. Šajā laikā aplūkojamās parādības atšķīrās starp diviem galēji atšķirīgiem zinātniskajiem kontekstiem: padomju jeb sociālistisko un nepadomju jeb kapitālistisko. Autori izseko zinātnisko koncepciju ģenēzi padomju folklorā un etnogrā- fijā pirms un pēc Otrā pasaules kara (ieskaitot pretstatus “savs” un “svešs”, “draudzīgs” un “naidīgs”, “populārs” un “elitārs”, “atļauts” un “tabu”). Tiek pētīts, kā šie jēdzieni un idejas izskatījās mazajā (Padomju Ukraina) un lielajā (Padomju Savienība) sociālistiskajā telpā un kā tie tika pārraidīti un mainīti ar “savu” un “svešu” tekstu publikācijām. Neraugoties uz padomju zinātnes (paš) izolācijas periodiem 1930. gados un pēckara periodā, robeža starp savu jeb padomju, iekšējo un svešo jeb citu, nepadomju jeb ārējo šajās discip- līnās palika mainīga un elastīga. Tas bija saistīts gan ar ideju par “pa- domju zinātnes starptautisku apvienošanu ar cilvēces progresīvajām idejām”, gan par vispārējām zinātnes attīstības tendencēm pēc Otrā pasaules kara. 20. gadsimta 20. gadu “anarhiskie” agrīnās padomju folkloras un etnoloģijas meklējumi, kas sāka veidoties sistēmā, vēlāk aprobežojās ar padomju zinātnes “normālo” paradigmu, kuru iero- bežoja ideoloģiskās klišejas. Tomēr šie trafareti arī nebija pastāvīgi: padomju folklora un etnogrāfija centās modernizēties. Sociālistiskā zinātne (un sociālistiskā folkloristikas un etnogrāfija) vēlējās būt paš- pietiekama modelēšanas sistēma. Tomēr tā mēģināja paplašināt savu ietekmi kapitālistiskajā pasaulē, kas nozīmēja pielāgošanos rietumu diskursa noteikumiem, aizņemoties rietumu jēdzienus, kas iekļuva padomju folkloristikas un etnogrāfijas valodā un to mainīja. Tas nozīmēja, ka pat no padomju diskursa izraidītās kategorijas gandrīz vienmēr bija slēpta sociālistiskās folkloras un etnogrāfijas diskursa sastāvdaļas.

The Community Service Project funded by the Higher Education IbM grant as reported here was conducted in order to meet the real need of the focus group in terms of training attendants of Early Childhood Education (ECE) in Kelurahan Dr Soetomo, Surabaya to have the competence to tell Nusantara folk tales These skills of storytelling that have been rare and marginalized by the advancement modern means of communication were badly needed by attendants or would-be attendants who are organized under Early Childhood Education (ECE). Through the training, ECE attendants will be enabled to tell Nusantara folktales which are rich in local wisdom as a media of character education for todlers in the local ECE. Such a community service project could also be beneficial if it is disseminated in other focus groups that badly need it in the inner city of Surabaya.

Abstract:

Prawo o aktach stanu cywilnego z 2014 r. przewiduje ograniczoną jawność formalną rejestru stanu cywilnego. Wśród osób uprzywilejowanych, które nie muszą spełniać dodatkowych przesłanek otrzymania odpisu aktu stanu cywilnego dotyczącego innej osoby, ustawa nie wymienia powinowatych, ale jedynie małżonka i pewną grupę najbliższych krewnych. W praktyce natomiast powinowaci dość często występują o wydanie odpisu aktu osoby, z którą łączy ich więź powinowactwa. Dotyczy to zwłaszcza odpisu aktu zgonu, który może być potrzebny w różnych sprawach. Brzmienie art. 45 ust. 1 p.a.s.c. prowadzi do wniosku, że powinowaci, tak jak inne osoby postronne, muszą wykazać interes prawny w uzyskaniu odpisu aktu stanu cywilnego. Autor przekonuje jednak, że przynależność do rodziny osoby, o której akt chodzi, oraz mnogość przypadków, w których powinowaci mogą potrzebować danego dokumentu, powinny wpływać na przyjęcie mniej rygorystycznych wymagań co do wykazania interesu prawnego. Interes taki można zwykle domniemywać. Dlatego też wystarczające wydaje się ogólne wskazanie wiarygodnego powodu, uzasadniającego wniosek o wydanie odpisu aktu, bez konieczności składania szczegółowych wyjaśnień i przedstawiania dodatkowych dokumentów.

Abstract:

A novel technique for co-culturing and separating fibroblasts and carcinoma cells in a 2-D model of tumorstroma interaction is presented. The methodology is based on cell co-cultivation on an 1.35 μm thin membrane followed by rapid immunostaining and microdissection of the different cell compartments using a laser microdissection system (P.A.L.M. Microlaser Technologies AG, Germany). For identifying the tumor cell compartment, immunolabeling for a marker that is expressed only in epithelial tumor cells is performed. The RNA quality from the microdissected co-cultured cells was successfully proved by RT-PCR for a housekeeping gene transcript and for the laminin gamma 2 chain gene transcript used before in the tumor cell immunostaining. Laminin cDNA was amplificable only in tumor cells and not in the co-cultivated fibroblasts indicating no cell-cross-contamination during microdissection. Microdissected tumor and stroma cells from the presented membrane based co-culture model can be used for gene expression profiling and DNA based analysis in the investigation of tumor-stroma interactions.

The era of occultation astronomy, studying dark objects by observing occultations of bright ones, has begun. The paper of Duncan, Quinn and Tremarne, “The Origin of Short-Period Comets”, Astrophys. J. Letters, 328, 69-73 (1988), greatly improved the prospects for occultation astronomy by demonstrating the existence of a second comet reservoir, the Kuiper Belt, much closer to us than the Oort Cloud and concentrated toward the ecliptic plane. Charles Alcock at Livermore (private communication) has begun work on a practical system of small telescopes to observe occultations of stars by comets. I here propose a system similar in concept of Alcock’s but using different hardware. We need to try various systems on a small scale to find out which are most cost-effective. My proposal is based on the Multiple Telescope Robotic Observatory (MTRO) developed by Boyd and Genet at Fairborn Observatory in Arizona. See Russell M. Abstrak – Surakarta merupakan salah satu kota di Jawa Tengah yang memiliki perkembangan cukup pesat. Beberapa pembangunan infrastruktur yang cukup masif di kota Surakarta adalah hotel-hotel dengan ketinggian lebih dari 25 lantai, pembangunan jalan flyover, jembatan dan kawasan industri di utara dan selatan kota Surakarta. Telah dilakukan survei mikrotremor untuk menentukan ketebalan pelapisan sedimen di kota Surakarta. Peta ketebalan sedimen digunakan untuk menentukan daerah yang rawan terhadap amplifikasi magnitud gempa, semakin tebal lapisan sedimen semakin besar amplifikasi sehingga berbahaya bagi infrastruktur yang terletak diatasnya. Pengukuran mikrotremor dilakukan di 12 lokasi dengan interval jarak antar lokasi 1-3 km. Peralatan yang digunakan adalah P.A.S.I Seismograph Mod. 16S24-P dengan sensor 3D Borehole Geophone Model GFA 60/100. Lama waktu pengukuran setiap lokasi adalah 20 menit dengan tiga kali pengulangan perekaman data di setiap lokasi. Pengolahan data mikrotremor menggunakan software Geopsy dan Surfer 11. Diperoleh hasil ketebalan sedimen di Lokasi 4 yang berada di wilayah Dawung merupakah lokasi dengan ketebalan sedimen yang paling tebal yaitu 24,65 m. Kemudian ketebalan sedimen semakin menipis ke utara, yaitu pada tengah kota sekitar 15 meter dan pada sisi utara sekitar 5 meter. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa pada sisi selatan kota Surakarta merupakan daerah yang rawan terhadap amplifikasi jika terjadi gempa bumi.Kata kunci: metode mikrotremor, frekuensi dominan, ketebalan sedimen, Surakarta

Entender as fases do ciclo de vida organizacional e o reflexo que o comportamento dos gestores tem na empresa permite compreender o que leva uma empresa a ter sucesso ou fracasso. Com isso, o artigo tem como objetivo analisar o ciclo de vida organizacional de uma cachaçaria do Triângulo Mineiro na perspectiva do modelo do ciclo de vida de Adizes e a influência do perfil do gestor na transição desses estágios pelas ferramentas P.A.E.I de Adizes. Esses objetivos foram alcançados por meio de uma análise qualitativa descritiva, utilizando um roteiro de entrevista semi-estruturado com o atual gestor. Em relação ao ciclo de vida organizacional de Adizes, conclui-se que a empresa se encontra na fase de Plenitude. O perfil gerencial do Gestor atual é o (E)mpreendedor e (A)dministrador. Já o perfil dos gestores que geriram a empresa nos estágios de Crescimento, Nascimento e Maioridade foram diferentes; os resultados indicaram que a passagem de um estágio a outro foi caracterizada pela mudança do gestor, que teve total influência na transição das fases de vida da empresa.

Critically ill adult patients with a ventilator in intensive care often receive treatment that causes pain. Pain is a symptom that often occurs in critically ill adult patients with ventilator and it is very individual. Pain assessment in critically ill patients with the ventilator is needed because of the patient unable to self-report of pain. Pain assessments critically ill adult patients have been developed. However, there is no valid and reliable instrument to assess pain. The objectives of the literature review are to identify the instruments of pain assessment in patients with ventilator. The method of literature was performed through seeking publication of articles in MEDLINE, Google Search, PubMed, and Proquest with keywords pain assessment, tool, critical care, adult, critically ill, unconscious and ventilator. Literatures were undertaken from 2000-2015 with a cross-sectional study design, before and after studies and observational study. The results of the study according to the characteristics of the research was found five pain assessment instruments, they were NVPS, P.A.I.N, Comfort scale, BPS and CPOT. The validity and reliability CPOT is highest among others. All instruments had been measured its validity and reliability, but it had never tested its sensitivity and specificity. So, more researches should be conducted related to the sensitivity and specificity of all the instruments of pain in critically ill adult patients with a ventilator.�Keywords : Pain assessment, critically ill, adult, ventilator.

Background: Our objective was to conduct a systematic review of the effects of hydrolyzed collagen supplementation on the proliferation and activation of fibroblasts. Methods: The search was conducted for journals that published articles in the English language, peer-reviewed, meeting the following criteria: (a) randomized clinical trials, (b) randomized studies in animals or humans, (c) in vitro studies, (d) studies using hydrolyzed collagens or collagen peptides, and (e) studies assessing alterations on fibroblasts as the primary or secondary outcome. We utilized the main journal databases PubMed/Web of Science and ongoing reviews by PROSPERO. For bias risk and methodological quality, we used an adaptation of the Downs and Black checklist. Our review followed the PRISMA checklist, conducted from February 2024 to the first week of March 2024, by two independent researchers (P.A.Q.I. and R.P.V.). Results: Eleven studies were included in this review, where our findings reinforce the notion that hydrolyzed collagens or collagen peptides at concentrations of 50–500 μg/mL are sufficient to stimulate fibroblasts in human and animal tissues without inducing toxicity. Different enzymatic processes may confer distinct biological properties to collagens, allowing for scenarios favoring fibroblast promotion or antioxidant effects. Lastly, collagens with lower molecular weights exhibit greater bioavailability to adjacent tissues. Conclusions: Hydrolyzed collagens or collagen peptides with molecular sizes ranging from <3 to 3000 KDa promote the stimulation of fibroblasts in human tissues.

El presente estudio tuvo como problema de investigación, ¿Cuál es la relación entre el estilo de apego y las habilidades sociales, de los niños y niñas de 3 años, de la Institución Educativa inicial N0 107, de Huancavelica - 2018?, la población de estudio fue conformado por 132 niños de 3 años. Como objetivo, fue determinar la relación que existe entre el estilo de apego y las habilidades sociales, de los niños y niñas de 3 años, de la Institución Educativa inicial N0 107, de Huancavelica - 2018, se usó el método científico y particular el deductivo, el tipo de investigación fue básico, nivel descriptivo y diseño descriptivo correlacional; se empleó la técnica de observación y como instrumento se utilizó la escala de apego (P.A.S.E). Los resultados fueron analizados en el programa estadístico SPSS - 24. Se encontró que el 71% (96) de los niños de tres años presentan un estilo de apego seguro, con habilidades sociales adecuadas. Donde el Vc>Vt (141.5>9,49), lo cual indica que se rechaza la hipótesis nula, también se encontró que la probabilidad es menor que 5% (0,05), lo cual concluye que la mayoría de los niños de 3 años presenta un estilo de apego seguro y habilidades sociales adecuadas, dando una relación significativa entre el estilo de apego y las habilidades sociales adecuadas, dando una relación significativa entre el estilo de apego y las habilidades sociales, de los niños de 3 años.

Strict action against workers who violate regulations and do not use PPE according to standards.

Como parte de um Projeto de Educação em Saúde, investigou-se o conhecimento e como são utilizadas as práticas populares de cura, de modo a desenvolver e ampliar na escola, as possibilidades já existentes de discussão crítica e construtiva dentro do programa de saúde. Espera-se com isso poder resgatar saberes e valorizar esse conhecimento não sistematizado, presente na prática das populações ainda de forma marginalizada e controvertida. Foram aplicados questionários entre 110 professores e 162 alunos das 1ª à 4ª séries do 1° grau de quatro escolas (P.L.S.L., P.H.A., P.A.M.M. e A.M.G.) da periferia de Belo Horizonte. Sendo que, as questões apresentadas foram respondidas somente por 105 docentes. Vinte e três (32,4%) (entre 71 (67,6%)) acreditam em dons especiais de cura; dos 105 (95,4%) que responderam sobre se acham que certas doenças podem ser tratadas com remédios caseiros, somente 69 (65,7%) acreditam que sim; 54 (78,3%) dentre esses, associaram a cura da doença com a planta medicinal e 15 (21,7%) indicam o remédio sem associação com a doença; 36 (34,3%) professores citaram a doença sem relacionar as ervas medicinais. Já, 101 (62,3%) alunos acreditam que os remédios caseiros são positivos para algumas doenças. Entre os alunos e professores foram mencionadas doenças diversas, sintomas e órgãos que podem ser curados por plantas medicinais, rezas ou benzedeiras. Um pouco mais de 50% dos dois grupos de alunos (1ª, 2ª, 3ª e 4ª séries) vivem entre famílias que procuram benzedeiras como alternativa de cura. Foram indicadas pelos professores e alunos mais de 50 plantas ou composições de partes de plantas. Conclui-se, que a medicina alternativa é conhecida e utilizada pela amostra estudada.

Berdasarkan informasi dari letak geografis dan struktur geologi, Kota Surakarta termasuk wilayah yang mengalami dampak gempa bumi<sup>[1]</sup>. Salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi dampak dari gempa bumi yaitu melakukan analisa tingkat bahaya seismik sebagai salah satu usaha mitigasi bencana gempa dengan metode mikrotremor yang dapat diketahui nilai amplifikasi dan periode dominan. Pada penelitian telah dilakukan di Kota Surakarta menggunakan P.A.S.I Seismograph Mod. 16S24-P, 3D Borehole Geophone Model GFA 60/100. Interval pada setiap lokasi yaitu 1-3 km dengan 12 lokasi penelitian. Diperlukan waktu sekitar 20 menit dengan tiga kali pengulangan untuk perekaman data disetiap titik. Pengolahan data mikrotremor menggunakan <em>software Geopsy </em>dan <em>Surfer 11</em>. Amplifikasi rendah pada zona 1 merupakan zona yang cukup aman terhadap bahaya gempa bumi. Zona 1 berada di wilayah Mojo, Moewardi, Sangkrah, Dawung, SMPN 10, Mojosongo, Lapangan Banyuanyar, Laweyan, Karang Asem danTipes dengan amplifikasi 0,807314 sampai dengan 2,60402. Lokasi pada jenis I termasuk wilayah yang cukup aman terhadap gempa bumi karena memiliki ketebalan sedimen yang tipis daripada jenis II. Jenis I berada di wilayah Mojo, Moewardi, Sangkrah, SMPN 10, Manahan, Mojosongo, Lapangan Banyuanyar, Laweyan, Karang Asem, Jebres dan Tipes dengan periode dominan antara 0,058978s sampai dengan 0,231411s. Sebaran tingkat kerawanan gempa bumi di kota Surakarta dapat dilihat pada peta zonasi berdasarkan nilai A<sub>0</sub> dan T<sub>0</sub> yang kemudian diklasifikasikan hasilnya pada zona atau jenis tertentu sehingga diperoleh informasi berupa tingkat kerawanan dan juga jenis batuan yang tersusun dibawah permukaan tanah berdasarkan parameter yang diukur.
