Abstract:
En este trabajo he abordado la relación cultural de España con Egipto, relación que se remonta a tiempos muy lejanos; de modo que se quedó grabada en la memoria de viajeros, estudiosos españoles y gobernantes egipcios. Partieron desde España en dirección al oriente islámico muchos viajeros, misioneros, conferenciantes del Ateneo de Madrid y escritores que visitaron Egipto, además de fantasiosos que nunca estuvieron allí, como José de Castro y Serrano. Todos ellos redactaron libros, ensayos, cuentos, novelas y memorias que fueron impresas entre 1850 y1914, en las que el tema egipcio encontró un buen asiento y un mejor cultivo. En este clima, emprendió desde España su aventura hacia Egipto don Antonio de orleáns, duque de Montpensier, afincado en Sevilla; era el hijo menor del rey de Francia Luis Felipe de orleáns y estaba casado con la infanta María Luisa, matrimonio del que nacería María de las Mercedes (1860-1878), primera esposa de Alfonso XII (1857-1885). Este viaje de don Antonio de orleáns fue realizado en 1845 según el relato de su secretario Antonio Latour, publicado en 1849. Aquel viaje coincidió en el tiempo con la magnífica expedición prusiana dirigida por el egiptólogo, lingüista y museógrafo Richard Carl Lepsius (1810-1884), que contaba con la aprobación y el apoyo de Federico Guillermo III de Prusia (1770-1840), quien consiguió para las colecciones de sus museos más de quince mil objetos antiguos que fueron llevados a Berlín y regalados oficialmente por Mohamed Alí Bajá de Egipto entre 1805 y 1848. Los orientalistas que pudieron visitar Egipto desde 1840 hasta 1900 pretendían describir la imagen de un Egipto “oriental”, es decir, su objetivo se centraba en destacar los barrios populares, los zocos con carpas, las gentes rezando en las mezquitas y la descripción de los maravillosos monumentos de la civilización faraónica. A mediados del siglo XIX, concretamente en vísperas de la apertura del canal de Suez, España aspiraba a mantener estrechas relaciones con Egipto, basadas principalmente en fines exploratorios, científicos, culturales, y sobre todo, objetivos comerciales y económicos, ya que en aquel entonces Egipto representaba el acceso a las rutas de las especias, extensión y difusión del cristianismo, hegemonía política, etc. España nunca fue ajena a la fascinación por la civilización de Egipto, y desde los primeros años del siglo XIX existieron muchos viajeros y escritores españoles que recorrieron el oriente Próximo y Egipto. Entre ellos, destacamos los nombres de José de Castro y Serrano, José Ramón Mélida, Eduardo Toda y Güell, Antonio Bernal, Arturo Baldasano y Topete, Lázaro Bardón y Gómez.

Abstract:
A obra de Shakespeare (1564-1616), desde a era elisabetana até a contemporaneidade, é responsável por influenciar diversos textos em todo Ocidente e Oriente. Hamlet (1609), em particular, é um de seus trabalhos mais adaptados e, na literatura russa oitocentista, teve importância fundamental para a criação de dois arquétipos da tradição literária nacional: o “homem supérfluo” e o “homem do subsolo”. Este ensaio tenciona mapear as origens do “Hamletismo Russo”, bem como observar seu reflexo nos livros Diário de um homem supérfluo (1850), de Ivan Turguêniev (1818-1883), e Diário do subsolo (1864), de Fiódor Dostoiévski (1821-1881), além de delinear a relação estilística e conteudista entre ambos os livros.

Forty species of the genus Oides Weber, 1801 are considered as valid in the Palaearctic and Oriental regions. Six new species are described: O. bezdeki sp. nov., O. hsui sp. nov., O. takizawai sp. nov., and O. wangi sp. nov. from Sulawesi (Indonesia); O. boreri sp. nov. from Laos; and O. geiseri sp. nov. from India, Nepal, and Myanmar. Abstract:
Baseline information is a priority for conservation plans of protected areas, especially when they are of great importance for the maintenance of biodiversity. However, many nature reserves are lacking this information. Here I present a characterization of the avifauna studied along the La Agüadora - San Rafael trail in the Bosque Oriental de Bogotá Protective Forest Reserve. I recorded 67 species after 18 visits done to the study area. The species accumulation curve indicates that the survey was not sufficient, but noteworthy records for Elanus leucurus (Vieillot, 1818), Megascops albogularis (Cassin, 1848), Ciccaba albitaris (Bonaparte, 1850), Caprimulgus longirostris (Sclater, 1866), Synallaxis subpudica Sclater, 1874, Catamenia inornata Berlepsch, 1885 and Atlapetes pallidinucha (Boissoneau, 1840) were obtained. Information provided can be useful for future management plans especially when considering spatial heterogeneity as a key base concept.

Abstract:
A mediados del siglo xix, el neogranadino Nicolás Tanco Armero se convirtió en el principal agente exportador de culíes chinos a Cuba, pese a que antes de sus travesías al Oriente (1855), en la Nueva Granada, expresara una apasionada defensa por el derecho de los ciudadanos a gozar de la libertad. Tanco Armero —defiende esta investigación— construyó un discurso netamente capitalista, abolicionista y civilizatorio, basado en las condiciones sociales y raciales de los pueblos sínicos, que le permitió justificar la contratación de servidumbre asiática para el desarrollo de trabajos forzados en las islas del Caribe. A través de la noción de representación, este artículo analiza elementos psicológicos y sociológicos que, combinados, construyeron un utillaje mental y brindaron sentido a sus impresiones visuales del mundo oriental. La libertad, queda así documentado, atravesó complejos procesos de representación racial y cultural, los cuales adquirieron mayor complejidad por la presencia de colonos asiáticos en sociedades acostumbradas a ver y convivir entre el blanco y el negro.

O período entre as décadas de 1870 e 1890 marcou um contexto de transformações sociais e políticas nos territórios localizados ao sul da África, ocasionadas pela expansão econômica e territorial decorrente das atividades na mineração e agricultura. Diversas medidas foram adotadas pelo colonato branco com o objetivo de controlar as terras ancestrais e a mão de obra da população negra, em especial, a legislação de terras. Diante desse quadro, o artigo concentra-se em Sword and Assegai (1899), de Anna Howarth, um romance de aventura ambientado nas “guerras das fronteiras” da região oriental da Colônia do Cabo (atualmente África do Sul) entre as décadas de 1830 a 1850. O destaque recai na caracterização dos guerreiros Xhosa, compreendendo a ênfase da romancista no “barbarismo” como uma forma de legitimação pública das práticas políticas coloniais, em especial, da apropriação de terras africanas pela elite colonial.

The Oriental Pantheinae genus Donda Moore, 1882 is revised. The type-species of the genus—Donda eurychlora (Walker, 1858) is recognized as a complex of species. Two new species, Donda continentalis sp. n. from Thailand, China, and Vietnam and D. sundana sp. n. from Indonesia are described. Two species, D. thoracica Moore, 1882 and D. striatovirens Moore, 1883, are excluded from the genus Donda. The status of two taxa, D. ornata Moore, 1883 and D. lichenoides (Hampson, 1894) remains open. The imagines, male and female genitalia are illustrated. The checklist of the genus Donda is presented.

La contribution analyse quelques représentations des danseurs orientaux qui dansent habillés en femmes et cherche à répondre à la question de savoir si ces représentations forment une caricature de la femme orientale ou s'il s'agit d'un autre rêve pervers d ’Orient. La première partie présente la danseuse mâle et montre sa perception en Orient et en Europe. La seconde partie évoque la critique du comportement des danseuses mâles présente dans les relations de voyage de Jean Potocki et de Vivant Denon. Les trois dernières parties analysent trois descriptions datant des années 1840-1850, créées par Gérard de Nerval, Gustave Flaubert et Théophile Gautier. Il s'avère qu ’avec le temps, la caricature devient moins évidente qu'auparavant et les descriptions s ’esthétisent. Il n'est plus possible de ne faire que se moquer des danseuses mâles ou les condamner. Un nouveau rêve pervers d'Orient semble faire son émergence.

Abstract:
Resumen En el trabajo se estudian los discursos sobre la cura que elaboraron los médicos mentalistas españoles en la transición del siglo XIX al XX. Si en las décadas de los años 1870 y 1880 el discurso preponderante promulgado por los médicos pertenecientes a instituciones privadas era extremadamente optimista, posteriormente cambió y se orientó hacia un mayor pesimismo terapéutico. Sin embargo, dadas las necesidades profesionales de los frenópatas, siguieron mostrando una confianza más o menos firme hacia las capacidades terapéuticas de la psiquiatría. La recepción de las nuevas nosologías, como la de Kraepelin, estuvo condicionada, en parte, por la actitud hacia la cura de los médicos mentalistas de la época y fue aceptada de forma ambivalente.

La these veut montrer les rapports qui existent, dans la litterature francaise et allemande, de 1880 a 1930, entre la crise de l'occident, qui se traduit par la decadence, et l'appel de l'orient. Elle se place surtout dans le domaine du mythe litteraire. Cette these comprend trois parties : dans la premiere partie, intitulee "decadence du mythe", l'univers du mythe est etudie a la lumiere de certaines notions telles que le sacre, le temps, le langage etc. . . Et dans une perspective historique, jusqu'au debut du xxe siecle (la modernite). L'ouvrage traite de l'action diplomatique et missionnaire du Saint-Siège en Extrême-Orient, tout particulièrement en Chine, en Corée et au Japon, depuis "l'ouverture" définitive de cette région du monde dans les années 1880, jusqu'au début des années 1950, dans le nouveau contexte géopolitique de guerre froide. Cette période correspond aux pontificats de Léon XIII, de Pie X, de Benoît XV, de Pie XI et pour partie à celui de Pie XII, c'est-à-dire à l'époque d'un redéploiement de l'activité internationale du Saint-Siège, fondé sur une neutralité, une supranationalité, et une souveraineté reconquises, notamment par les accords du Latran. Notre approche, comparative et régionale, s'intéresse à toutes les échelles institutionnelles et géographiques de l'Eglise catholique et des Etats, tout en privilégiant les "relations au sommet". Nous pouvons ainsi évaluer l'action du Saint-Siège face aux profondes mutations de la région durant cette période, au regard des objectifs propres à l'institution
This book deal with the diplomatic and missionary action of the Holy See in the Far East, particularly in China, in Japan and in Korea, from the definitive "opening" of this region of the world during the 1880's, to the beginning of the 1950's, in the new geopolitical context of the Cold War. This period correspond to the pontificates of Leo XIII, Pius X, Benedictus XV, Pius XI and partly the one of Pius XII, in other words the epoch of a reorganization of the international activity of the Holy See, based on a neutrality, a “supranationality”, and a sovereignty recovered, more particularly by the Lateran agreements. This study, regional and comparative, is interested in all institutional and geographical scales of the Catholic Church and the States, but favouring the “relations at the top”. So it's possible to evaluate the action of the Holy See in front of the deep mutations of the region during this period, according to the objectives of the institution

Salammbô, texte complexe et difficile d'accès, déroute la critique depuis toujours car il résiste à toute tentative de classement exclusif : généralement qualifié de roman historique, il reste rebelle aux lois du genre en intégrant l'histoire dans une dimension mythique. Pont entre les écrits de jeunesse et de la maturité, il présente une image synthétique de l'Orient, qui résulte de perceptions sensorielles et de savantes recherches. Dans l'analyse de la documentation de Flaubert, nous ne nous sommes pas limités aux seules sources écrites, mais nous avons élargi notre recherche à la relation qui s'établit entre l'écriture flaubertienne et l'univers des arts plastiques. Ce travail se propose de suivre l'émergence et la genèse de Salammbô en se fondant non seulement sur les premiers textes où l'Orient apparait déjà, mais aussi sur les projets restés à l'état de plan ou d'ébauche. Nous avons tenté de montrer comment l'articulation complexe entre l'épique, le mythique et le plastique structure la genèse du roman au sens large du terme.

L'Orient, de manière générale, a tenu du moyen-âge jusqu'à nos jours une place de choix dans la pensée française. La représentation a évolué de 1880 à 1939, et l'exotisme proche-oriental, tel que le définissaient les romantiques, l'Orient de rêve, aboutissait à ses fins logiques. Le réalisme dans les lettres le transforme de conception toute faite en une recherche de cet "autre" différent. L'exotisme proche-oriental et arabe fut ainsi condamné, à partir de la fin du XIXème siècle et jusqu'à la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, à ne devenir qu'une littérature de second ordre. Les bouleversements que connaissent les pays de l'Orient laissent peu de place au rêve. Seuls Loti et Barrès ont su donner, par la force et l'esthétique de leurs écrits, un élan nouveau à ce thème qui périclitait. Mais il revient aussi à des écrivains-voyageurs mineurs le mérite de nous éclairer sur une société, d'avoir bouleversé la façon d'aborder "l'autre" de donner naissance à une définition nouvelle de l'exotisme. La société orientale perçue sous le signe de la dualité n'est que le miroir de la société française en crise. Cet anonymat dans lequel l'Occident s'est évertué à tenir l'Orient, cette identité qu'on lui refuse est le signe même de son propre désarroi face à l'évolution de l'homme, de son éthique, dans un monde bouleversé par les conflits, caractérisé par l'instabilité, la perte des valeurs
The Orient has, throughout the Middle Ages to our present day, held a unique place among french thinking. Between 1880 and 1939, perception of the orient underwent profond changes. Exotic appeal of an orient of dreams and fantaisies, as defined by romantics, evaporeted with the onset of realism. The pre-conceived notion were replaced by a quest for the "other orient". Between the end of 19th century and World War II, the "exoticism" of the arabic and near eastern world was condamned as a minar genre. Turbulents events which plaqued theses countries did not leave much room for dreams. Loti and Barrès, by the sheer beauty and power of their writting, were the only ones who could revive the theme that had fallen into oblivion. Credit should be given to minar writers who shed light upon the society in their treatment of the "other anf far giving birth to a new definition of exoticism. The oriental society perceived in its duality, was only a miror reflacting an inperished french society. The refusal to recognize the true identity of the Orient betrays its own confusion, in a world characterized by instability and the loss of ancestral values the western world was seeking for security in the Orient, but it's for ever lost there

Gustave Flaubert renonce au conventionnel récit de voyage en Orient et se contente de notes prises sur le vif qu'il réserve pour son usage personnel. Ce n'est pas tant son intention littéraire qu'il est intéressant de suivre que son rapport à la réalité et son expérience d'un monde rêvé. Par une observation directe et attentive, l'homme de lettre ajuste aux parcours de son regard et de son écrit des lois de sélection et d'organisation qu'il emprunte aux arts figuratifs classiques ; consciemment ou non, il adopte face au motif un comportement d'artiste et manie le langage comme un peintre manie le pinceau. Aussi, est-il possible de décomposer son énoncé verbal avec des outils proposés par l'approche sémiologique de l'énoncé visuel, où la dimension plastique révèle sa stratégie esthétique et la dimension iconique sa résolution représentative. L'on découvre ainsi une sensibilité particulière à l'égard de la forme et du vrai ; le style individuel de Flaubert se développe à partir d'un intérêt pour la ligne courbe et d'un attrait pour le fait indiciel. Notre point de départ est la question suivante : "Quelle est l’importance de la ville chez nos deux romanciers ?". L’analyse combine une perspective comparative, historique, et thématique. The subject of investigation here is the city in antiquity, Carthage in Gustave Flaubert's Salammbo, and the Egyptian city of Abou during the times of the Pharaohs in Naguib Mahfouz' Pharaoh's Lover. The thesis examines the representation of the city in the novels of Gustave Flaubert (1821-1880), and Naguib Mahfouz, the master of Arabic literature (1911-2006). Our starting point is the following question, "What is the importance of the city for the two novelists?" The analysis brings together comparative, historic and thematic perspectives. It show cases the creative manner in which Mahfouz received French 19th century novels

Introdução: A Covid-19, mais conhecida por coronavírus, trata-se de doença infectocontagiosa, podendo ser sintomática/assintomática que está causando depressão respiratória e entre outras patologias humanas. Políticas de saúde pública mundial, visto que a terceira idade sendo cenário mais afetado mundialmente devido aos fatores de risco. Considera-se esta população ser prioritária a receber primeiras doses da vacina contra Covid-19, além dos profissionais de saúde da linha de frente. No dia 30 de janeiro de dois mil e dezenove, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) declarou uma Emergência de Saúde Pública de Importância Internacional. Nesta contextualização, os profissionais de saúde prestaram assistência humanizada a saúde na terceira idade no mapeamento da vacinação contra covid 19 na prevenção promoção da saúde. Objetivo: Perceber a importância de priorizar a terceira idade também na vacinação contra covid-19 no cenário de políticas públicas de saúde. Metodologia: Discorre nesta pesquisa, relato e experiência de profissionais da saúde vacinando os pacientes da terceira idade no interior do Ceará. O contexto de relato de experiência fundamentou-se como teórico-científico, nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Resultados: A terceira idade, foram acolhidos perante gestão federal, estadual e municipal no cronograma de vacinação contra covid 19, obedecendo todas as normas determinada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde a serem vacinados para tentarem combater a doença que está matando muita gente. Foram sistematizados barreiras sanitárias, atividades remotas e outras ações severa para tentar reduzir número de óbitos antes da iniciação da vacina. Considerações Finais: Diante de tantas infecções respiratórias, óbitos, aumento pandêmico, a vacinação, mesmo não suprindo as lacunas da terceira idade, mas os mesmos se sensibilizaram ao receber as doses da vacina contra esta doença sob todos os cuidados, mesmo assim obedece e também orienta as pessoas continuarem usando as máscaras, higienização e obedecendo as normas do ministério.

Este trabajo examina cómo los pórticos en sus muchas formas y características, han evolucionado en el estado de Baja California a través de innovaciones y adaptaciones. Se analiza información sobre costumbres y patrones culturales en relación con el momento de su edificación. Proporciona un marco cronológico y tipológico-histórico para identificarlos. El pórtico en el estado de Baja California tienen un primer origen de utilización en las viviendas indígenas de los grupos nativos. Años más tarde se utilizó en la época misional, del siglo XVII al XIX. Finalmente con la fundación de las principales ciudades bajacalifornianas, Ensenada en 1882, Tijuana en 1889 y Mexicali en 1903, el pórtico se integró en la vivienda tradicional de madera edificada en la región. Entre sus cualidades se puede mencionar: es un elemento esencial en la organización espacial de la vivienda; se trata de un espacio exterior, pero resguardado bajo su cubierta como extensión de la misma; potencia la relación con el entorno; es también transición entre el exterior y el interior, entre lo público y lo privado; es un lugar de convivencia familiar y amistosa, ya que bajo ellos, a su sombra, se provocan ambientes agradables para la estancia matutina, vespertina e incluso nocturna en los días benignos. Refleja en sus diversas variantes tipológicas las condiciones climáticas, sociales y culturales de las regiones contenidas en este vasto territorio. Además de cumplir las funciones descritas líneas arriba, también funcionan como un sistema pasivo de climatización. Contribuye a obtener una temperatura más confortable en los espacios interiores, ya que impide la incidencia de la luz solar directa sobre los muros y ventanas, ocasionando que los espacios interiores se refresquen y sean más agradables. Se concluye que la utilización del pórtico en la vivienda de Baja California, es un referente histórico tipológico, cultural y medio ambiental, que aporta enseñanzas que deben ser preservadas en el diseño arquitectónico contemporáneo.

Local domain structures in Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) ferroelectric thin films have been investigated using linear finite element analysis to qualitatively assess the effect of crystal structure, domain wall orientation and mechanical constraints from electrodes on local polarization switching behavior. The finite element model was used to illustrate that the evolution of residual stress during polarization reorientation may play an important role in the backswitching behavior which has been observed experimentally in (111)-orientated PZT films. The domain size and orientation used in the finite element model utilizes domain sizes determined from piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM) measurements given in the literature together with domain wall orientation from strain and charge compatibility in the (111) orientation. During polarization switching, domains with polarization components aligned anti-parallel to the applied field are expected to switch 90° to partially align with the applied field. 180° switching is not expected to occur in the (111) oriented film. The 90° switching induces residual stress that is computed using the finite element model. It is illustrated that thicker top electrodes increase the residual stress in the ferroelectric layer which may play an important role in polarization retention behavior in ferroelectric capacitors.

This paper presents an experimental investigation of condensation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of refrigerant R-134a flowing through an annular helicoidal passage with the hydraulic diameter of 8.5 mm. The angles of helix axis are oriented at 0, 45, 90 degrees to gravity. The overall and refrigerant-side heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops are experimentally determined at saturation temperature 35°C, refrigerant mass flux 35–180 kg/s·m2, and cooling water temperature 27°C. The results show that orientation has significant influence on the thermal and hydraulic behaviors of the helical pipe. The results can be employed for reference in the effective design of annular helicoidal heat exchangers with R-134a as the working fluid.

The Thunder Horse Field targets Middle Miocene deepwater turbiditic reservoirs. Despite of being prolific, the mapping of the ~180 m thick, partly amalgamated reservoir sandstones is challenging. Seismic quality is reduced by the presence of salt structures. The salt overburden and high formation pressure requires the use of heavy mud weights and oil-based drilling fluids, which limit the resolution and interpretation potential of borehole image logs (BHI). Halokinetic movements caused significant post-depositional deformation of the already complex gravity- driven sediment stack and the reservoir beds drape against an E–W oriented salt wall. Consequently, the assessment and removal of the structural dip component is not trivial and the evaluation of paleo-transport directions is considerably more complicated compared to undisturbed deepwater reservoirs. The intention of this paper is to bring the main results from Henry et al. (2018) into context with the eigenvector methodology from Ruehlicke et al. (2019) and to emphasize its value for reservoir characterization.

Cryogenic fluids are used widely in several thermal management applications such as in regenerative cooling of rocket engine combustor liners, missile warning receivers, satellite tracking systems and cryo-adsorbent hydrogen storage systems. Single phase laminar flow and heat transfer rate of liquid nitrogen in microchannels is studied experimentally in this paper. The performance of two distinct geometries of microchannel heat sinks are evaluated and compared for simultaneous developing laminar flow in the Reynolds number range from 180 to 610. The first geometry pertains to parallel microchannels while the second corresponds to a staggered microscale pin fin array. Two parallel microchannel geometries having identical widths of 140μm and identical laminar thermal resistances but with different aspect ratios of 4.7 and 7.6 are compared. The pin fin heat sink consisted of square pins of 395μm side and oriented at 45 degrees to the flow. All three heat sinks have identical heat source surface area. Results are presented in a non-dimensional form in terms of the friction factor, Nusselt, Reynolds numbers and compared with the predictions of existing correlations in the literature for parallel microchannels and micro pin fin heat sinks.
