Full text
Abstract:
Abstract This book, which is selected in nature to Agaricus bisporus, presents fundamental guidelines for mushroom production together with the advances in research in this field. The first chapter presents the history of button mushroom cultivation, mushroom classification, distribution, and nutritional and medicinal value. The methods of composting for substrate preparation, their basics, application, and innovation are discussed in Chapter 2. The basic principles and methods to improve compost quality are shown in the third chapter. Moving to the fourth chapter, the genetics, breeding approaches, and selection of new mushroom strains are discussed in detail. Chapter 5 addresses the stages of casing and cropping by focusing on the tools and methods to optimize production during these stages. Chapter 6 details the management of pests and control of diseases at a mushroom farm, with a special focus on the ideal farm design to avoid the spread of infesting agents. The last chapter of the book shows the advances in harvest and postharvest technologies, applied to maximize the postharvest benefits from button mushroom cultivation.

Full text
Abstract:
This textbook is a publication of the latest generation, designed to optimize the national project "Education"; develops theoretical knowledge about the genesis of natural liquid, gaseous and solid combustible minerals, the formation of the composition and properties, the practical significance of fuel and energy natural complexes. It is devoted to the study of the composition, properties and classification of oils, gas condensate, natural gases and solid combustible minerals, studied at the level of modern achievements of instrumental analytical and factory equipment in accordance with existing technologies, theories and hypotheses about the genesis of hydrocarbons and Earth sciences. The publication is supplemented with the main directions of processing of combustible minerals. Digital and graphical types of chemical models of the synergy of components of gas and oil deposits are described, which are necessary for predicting the phase state and composition of hydrocarbons and optimizing the directions of processing of marketable products. To facilitate the process of cognition of the origin and formation of the composition and properties of natural combustible minerals, a glossary, tests, as well as questions for the test and exam are offered. To control the knowledge gained by students while studying textbook materials, each chapter is accompanied by questions and tasks. Meets the requirements of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the latest generation. It is intended for students studying in the fields of 05.04.01, 05.03.01 "Geology", 21.05.02 "Applied Geology", as well as for specialists in the field of geology, geochemistry, extraction and processing of oil, gas, gas condensate, solid fuels.

Full text
Abstract:
All medical exposures to ionizing radiation carry an increased risk of malignant disease. This chapter describes methods for evaluating the risks from exposures of varying magnitude from either the effective dose or doses to individual organs. Risk factors which can be utilized in assessments are included. Procedures should only be carried out if they will influence patient management and factors to be considered in the justification process are considered. In addition, techniques should be optimized so that doses to individual patients are as low as compatible with the medical requirements of each examination. The explanation of risks to patients is discussed for situations when a patient is to undergo a high dose procedure or has received an exposure greater than intended.

Abstract:
Dreyfus defines nihilism as the leveling of all meaningful differences, as a result of which existence no longer has inherent meaning. Human existence loses its goal or direction, and thus nothing can have authority for us, make a claim on us, or demand a commitment from us. Dreyfus follows Heidegger in arguing that modern nihilism is ultimately rooted in background practices that subject everything—including our moral knowledge—to detached reflection. We rightly celebrate our ability to get everything clear and under control—an ability fostered by foreground practices as diverse as power stations, the fast food industry, and global information technologies. But these practices for the total organization of the world depend on our background practices revealing everything as a resource to be optimized and controlled.

Nutt, David J., and Liam J. Nestor. Neurobiological processes in addiction. Oxford University Press, 2018. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/med/9780198797746.003.0004.

Full text
Abstract:
The brain is involved in controlling necessary motivational and cognitive processes optimized for survival. These processes can be disrupted by substances of addiction. The key neural substrates underlying these processes are made up of a network of four independent and overlapping brain circuits. These circuits govern reward processing, motivation and/or drive, learning and memory, and cognitive control. Anomalies within these circuits may also pre-date the addiction state, and facilitate the progress from experimentation to substance addiction. The subsequent excessive and chronic use of substances further exacerbates these abnormalities. Therefore, these brain circuits and key psychological processes related to their functioning must be understood if we are to develop and test new pharmacological and psychological treatment approaches in substance addiction.

Abstract:
Lactation is the physiologic process of milk production and the completion of the pregnancy cycle. The goal for all pregnancies should be to support and encourage women to breastfeed, as the benefits to both mother and infant are well established. However, when managing pregnancy and lactation with a woman who also has a neurological disorder, it is essential to understand the impact on lactation of both the disease and the medications for treating the disease. Ideally disease control can be optimized and medications altered to reduce any negative influence on the mother or infant during lactation. Although neurologic disease does not typically interfere with breastfeeding, limited mobility, fatigue, decreased sensation, medications, and surgeries may add additional challenges for the breastfeeding woman with a neurologic condition. The goal of the neurologist, obstetrician, pediatrician, and lactation consultant should be to support and encourage breastfeeding, while minimizing the risk of medications for the infant.

Abstract:
How does budgeting work, and how is it useful? What are standard costs and how do they help in controlling production? How can a balanced scorecard improve control? ‘Accounting as control’ looks at some ways in which accounting can be used by managers to control their organizations. The two main high-level purposes of budgeting are to optimize the use of the economic resources within the firm in order to maximize profit, and to help the firm to achieve its overall strategic objectives. Six aspects of budgeting are considered: planning, motivation, delegation, communication/coordination, control, and performance evaluation. Cash flow forecasts, flexible budgeting, zero-base budgeting, standard costings, and balanced scorecards are also explained.

Full text
Abstract:
Being diagnosed with cancer introduces the need to make many high-stakes decisions about treatments, clinical trial participation, palliative care, advanced care planning, and (sometimes) end-of-life preferences. These decisions can be intensely emotional themselves, and occur within the affectively laden context of cancer-related issues, such as symptom management, interpersonal concerns, and existential questions about life and death. This chapter outlines how affect/emotion influences several decisions faced by cancer patients, and how emotions are relevant to the interpersonal context in which these decisions occur. Emotion has pervasive and predictable—sometimes deleterious and sometimes advantageous—influences on decision making. Fundamental knowledge regarding how affect influences cancer-related decision making could be leveraged to develop interventions to optimize decisions about treatment, clinical trial participation, and palliative care among cancer patients and survivors, thereby improving cancer-related outcomes.
