Abstract:
Optimis memerupakan keyakinan bahwa akan lebih banyak hal baik yang terjadi dari pada hal yang buruk. Individu yang optimis akan berusaha untuk mencapai tujuan meskipun mengalami kesulitan. Pada suami yang mengalami disabilitas, mereka harus menghadapi perubahan fisik yang diakibatkankarena kecelakaan ataupun penyakit. Optimisme dapat mempengaruhi bagaimana individu memandang keterbatasannya saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran optimisme suami yang mengalami disabilitas. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 15 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel insidental. Penelitian ini menggunakanskalaLOT-R (LifeOrientationTest-Revised) dikembangkan oleh Carver dan Scheier berdasarkan pandangan mereka tentang optimisme. Skala ini terdiri dari 10 aitem yang terdiri dari 6 aitem yang diukur dan 4 aitem filler. Alat ukur yang digunakan memiliki reabilitas 0,675. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suami yang mengalami disabilitas lebih banyak yang optimis dibandingkan denganyang tidakterkategori (ambivalen). Dari 15 orang, 13 orang optimis dan 2 orang tidak terkategori.Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa meskipun mengalami disabilitas, mereka tetap memiliki keyakinan untuk menghadapi kondisi tersebut Optimism is the faith in believing that more good things will happen than bad things. Optimistic individuals will try to achieve goals despite difficulties. For husbands with disabilities, they must face physical changes caused by accidents or illness. Optimism can influence how individuals perceive their current limitations. This study aimed to see an overview of the optimism of husbands with disabilities. The subjects in this study were 15 people with incidental sampling techniques. This study used the LOT-R (LifeOrientation Test-Revised) scale developed by Carver and Scheier based on their views on optimism. This scale consisted of 10 items consisting of 6 items measured and 4 filler items. The measuring instrument used had a reliability of 0.675. The results showed that more husbands who experienced disability were optimistic than those that were not categorized (ambivalent). Out of the 15 people, 13 people were optimistic and 2 people were not categorized. This indicated that even though they have disabilities, they still have the confidence to deal with these conditions.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat optimisme mahasiswa dan kebutuhan untuk mengembangkan Web-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) sebagai strategi untuk meningkatkan optimisme mahasiswa. Convenience sampling yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data pada 283 mahasiswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu Life Orientation Test – Revised (LOT-R) dan angket kebutuhan media Web-based ACT. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat optimisme mahasiswa di Jakarta yaitu sedang (16.6 dari total skor 24). Secara keseluruhan 44 mahasiswa (16%) memiliki tingkat optimisme rendah, 159 mahasiswa (56%) memiliki tingkat optimisme sedang, 80 mahasiswa (28%) memiliki tingkat optimisme tinggi. Perempuan memiliki tingkat optimisme yang lebih tinggi daripada laki-laki (16.7 vs 16.3). 158 mahasiswa (63%) merasa sangat perlu adanya media web bantu diri (self-help web) untuk meningkatkan optimisme agar mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan optimisme. Diketahui juga bahwa pengembangan Web-based ACT juga sangat penting untuk membantu meningkatkan optimisme mahasiswa. Abstract This study aims to determine the level of student optimism and the need to develop Web-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a strategy to increase student optimism. Convenience sampling was used to collect data on 283 students. The instruments used are the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) and the ACT Web-based media needs questionnaire. The results showed that the level of student optimism in Jakarta was moderate (16.6 out of a total score of 24). Overall 44 students (16%) had a low level of optimism, 159 students (56%) had a moderate level of optimism, 80 students (28%) had a high level of optimism. Women had higher levels of optimism than men (16.7 vs 16.3). 158 students (63%) felt the need for a self-help web to increase optimism so that students could increase their optimism. It is also known that the development of Web-based ACT is also very important to help increase student optimism.

Abstract:
AbstractThis research aims to determine the relationship between optimism and grit on the Air Force Academy (AAU) cadet candidates (catar) in Lanud 'X' city of Bandung. There were 104 respondents who participated in this study with ages ranging from 18-21 years. This study uses a correlation research design. The optimism questionaire is compiled by researchers themselves based on the theory of optimism by Seligman (2006). Researchers used grit questionaire designed by Prameswari and Vivekananda (2017) based on Duckworth's grit theory (2007). The data analysis technique used in this study was theta wilcoxon correlation test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between optimism and grit with a correlation coefficient of 0.324, which means it has moderate relationship strength. This means that an optimistic catar views in the face of both good and bad events will be accompanied by a high degree of grit and vice versa. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan optimisme dan grit calon taruna Akademi Angkatan Udara (AAU) di Lanud ‘X’ kota Bandung. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji korelasi Theta Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara optimis dan grit dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0,324 yang berarti memiliki kekuatan hubungan yang tergolong sedang. Ini berarti bahwa pandangan catar yang optimis dalam menghadapi kejadian baik maupun kejadian buruk akan disertai dengan derajat grit yang tinggi begitu pula sebaliknya.

Currently, some students habitually answering questions with one answer. They only use the certain formula or certain steps to get answer. Thus, the ability of problem-solving and optimism that should have owned by students is not visible because of the habit of completing routine problem. Whereas the ability problem-solving and optimism is needed in the face of all the challenges that occur. This is becaused people who are able to solve the problem would be receive every event, whether it is good or bad events. They will seek the solution of problem faced and anticipate every possibility that occurs to the measures that have been selected. This study aims to determine (1) the ability of students to problem-solving and (2) optimism of students in problem-solving. This is qualitative research with test of problem solving and guided interview of optimism as instruments. Subject of this research is six students grade VIII of Junior High School at Peukan Pidie, Aceh. The results show that three students have good problem-solving ability, three other students have enough abilitiy in problem-solving. Optimism of students in problem-solving based on the dimensions of optimism is three students optimist at dimension PMG, three other students not optimist. One student was optimist on the dimensions of PVG, five other students not optimist. Five students are optimist on the dimensions of PSG and PMB, one student not optimist. Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to determine the relationship between optimism and happiness in children who are victims of parental divorce. The hypothesis put forward is that there is a positive relationship between optimism and child victims of parental divorce. The research design uses a correlational quantitative research method. This research conducted on 104 participants with an age range of 20-30 years who have been victims of parental divorce for at least 5 years and live in Surabaya. The instruments used in this study are the happiness scale to Seligman's theory (2005) and the optimism scale according to Seligman's (2005). The data obtained were then analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment analysis technique with the help of SPSS 25 for Windows. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been done, the results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between optimism and happiness. Acceptance of the hypothesis in this study shows that optimism is closely related to one's happiness. The higher the optimism of children who are victims of divorce, the higher the happiness of children who are victims of parental divorce, and vice versa, the lower the optimism, the lower the happiness of children who are victims of parental divorce. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS 25 for Windows. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara optimisme dengan kebahagiaan. Diterimanya hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sikap optimisme berkaitan erat dengan kebahagiaan seseorang. Semakin tinggi optimisme pada anak korban perceraian maka semakin tinggi pula kebahagiaan pada anak korban perceraian orangtua, begitupun sebaliknya semakin rendah optimisme maka akan semakin rendah kebahagiaan pada anak korban perceraian orangtua. Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to explore the influence of optimism on the problem-focused coping of students at Ar-Raniry State Islamic University and to find out the difference in optimism and problem-focused coping between male and female students. Data were collected from 320 students (81 male and 239 female) using a proportional stratified sampling. Data were collected by using two questionnaires, (1) Optimism by using the scale of optimism (Seligman, 2008) and (2) Problem-focused coping by using the Coping scale (Lazarus, 1984). Data were analyzed descriptively, and statistical analysis (hypothesis testing) was done using a simple regression procedure under SPSS/PC Ver.23.00. This study's results indicated a significant positive correlation between optimism and problem-focused coping among students. The respective R-square is 0.166, a result of the coefficient is 0.407. There are no significant differences in problem-focused coping and optimism among students. However, there are significant gender differences, male students are more problem-focused with coping and optimism than female students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh optimisme terhadap problem focused coping mahasiswa Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh dan mengtahui perbedaan optimisme dan problem focused coping diantara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 320 mahasiswa (81 laki-laki dan 239 perempuan) dengan menggunakan proporsional stratified sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua kuesioner, (1) Optimisme dengan menggunakan skala optimisme (Seligman, 2008) dan (2) Problem focused coping dengan menggunakan skala Coping Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan analisis statistik (pengujian hipotesis) dilakukan dengan prosedur simple Regression. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara optimisme dengan problem focused coping pada siswa. R-square adalah 0,166, hasil koefisien adalah 0,407. Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari problem focused coping di kalangan mahasiswa, tetapi ada perbedaan yang signifikan dari jenis kelamin, bahwa laki-laki lebih tinggi problem focused coping dan sikap optimisme daripada mahasiswa perempuan.

Abstract: The high competition in entering the world of work requires optimism in prospective job seekers, 8th semester undergraduate students are one of them. The optimism variable has often been studied before, but research on optimism in the context of facing the world of work has not been done much. So far, no research has been found that examines the relationship between self-esteem and optimism in the world of work. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and optimism in facing the world of work in final year students. The research participants were 134 undergraduate students from the 2018 class who were taking semester 8 at the State University of Malang who were selected using cluster random sampling and accidental sampling techniques. The data collection method used a questionnaire consisting of a self-esteem scale with a reliability of 0.8587 and a scale of optimism in facing the world of work with a reliability of 0.936. The hypothesis was tested using Pearson's product moment correlation with a coefficient correlation of 0.620 (p < klo0.05). The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between self-esteem and optimism in facing the world of work in 8th semester undergraduate students, State University of Malang, which means that the higher a person's self-esteem, the higher the level of optimism in facing the world of work. In order to have high optimism in facing the world of work, students are advised to increase their self-esteem. Abstrak: Tingginya persaingan dalam memasuki dunia kerja membutuhkan optimisme dalam diri para calon pencari kerja, mahasiswa S1 yang sedang menempuh semester 8 adalah salah satunya. Variabel optimisme sudah sering diteliti sebelumnya, namun penelitian tentang optimisme dalam konteks menghadapi dunia kerja masih belum banyak dilakukan. Sejauh ini belum didapati penelitian yang meneliti hubungan harga diri dan optimisme menghadapi dunia kerja. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan harga diri dan optimisme menghadapi dunia kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 134 mahasiswa S1 angkatan 2018 yang sedang menempuh semester 8 di Universitas Negeri Malang yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dan accidental sampling. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari skala harga diri dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,8587 dan skala optimisme menghadapi dunia kerja dengan reliabilitas sebesar 0,936. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan Pearson’s product moment correlation dengan hasil koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,620 (p < 0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif harga diri dengan optimisme menghadapi dunia kerja pada mahasiswa S1 semester 8 Universitas Negeri Malang yang artinya semakin tinggi harga diri seseorang maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat optimismenya dalam menghadapi dunia kerja. Guna memiliki optimisme menghadapi dunia kerja yang tinggi, mahasiswa disarankan untuk meningkatkan harga dirinya.

Abstract:
Abstract Optimism has been found to be associated with physical health and interpersonal well-being. Spouses also play an important role on people’s health especially in late life. Yet, little is known about how a spouse’s optimism might be associated with an individual’s cognitive health. This study examined how actor and partner optimism in couples are associated with cognitive ability. Results showed positive associations between actor optimism and cognitive ability (.03 ≤ rs ≤ .17), and partner optimism and cognitive ability (.03 ≤ rs ≤.04), which mostly persisted over time. Further, partner optimism moderated actor optimism. Although highly optimistic people had higher cognitive ability regardless of partner’s optimism (r = .02, p = .22), people particularly benefitted from being married to an optimist (r = .05, p &lt; .001). These results suggest that we need to consider the context of spousal relationships when understanding optimism and cognitive health in older-adulthood.

Abstract:
The replay of task-relevant trajectories is known to contribute to memory consolidation and improved task performance. A wide variety of experimental data show that the content of replayed sequences is highly specific and can be modulated by reward as well as other prominent task variables. However, the rules governing the choice of sequences to be replayed still remain poorly understood. One recent theoretical suggestion is that the prioritization of replay experiences in decision-making problems is based on their effect on the choice of action. We show that this implies that subjects should replay sub-optimal actions that they dysfunctionally choose rather than optimal ones, when, by being forgetful, they experience large amounts of uncertainty in their internal models of the world. We use this to account for recent experimental data demonstrating exactly pessimal replay, fitting model parameters to the individual subjects’ choices.

Abstract:
The emergence of the concept of school well-being provides a reference to the ideal school concept that is able to promote the well-being of its students. However, implementing this concept is not easy. School well-being is the subjective assessment by students of how their school meets their basic needs. These basic needs dimensions include having, loving, being, and health. Incorporating perceived social support and optimism into school well-being is a positive action. This study aims to examine the simultaneous role of perceived social support and optimism on school well-being among adolescents. The population of this study consisted of adolescents in the city of Karawang, with a sample of 203 individuals. The sampling technique used was quota sampling. The data in this study were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the relationship between perceived social support, optimism, and school well-being is found to be significant with a significance value of 0.000. R-square value is 0.235, meaning that 23.5% of the variation in school well-being is influenced by perceived social support and optimism, while the remaining 76.5% is due to other unmeasured variables in this study. Keywords: Adolescents, optimism, perceived social support, school well-being Hadirnya konsep school well-being memberikan referensi mengenai konsep sekolah ideal yang mampu menyejahterakan siswanya. Namun demikian untuk mengimplementasikan konsep tersebut tidaklah mudah. School well-being ialah penilaian yang berisifat subjektif oleh siswa terhadap bagaimana sekolahnya yang akan memenuhi kebutuhan dasarnya. Dimensi kebutuhan dasar tersebut ialah having, loving, being, dan health. Memasukkan dukungan sosial dan optimisme ke dalam school well-being merupakan tindakan positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran simultan dukungan sosial dan optimismee terhadap school well-being pada remaja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan remaja di kota Karawang dengan sampel sebanyak 203 orang. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel adalah dengan metode quota sampling. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan Regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial dan optimisme berpengaruh terhadap school well-being dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Nilai Rsquare sebesar 0,235; artinya sebesar 23,5% variasi pada school well being dipengaruhi oleh dukungan sosial dan optimisme, sisanya sebesar 76,5% disebabkan oleh variabel lain yang tidak diukur dalam penelitian ini. Introducción: Este estudio analiza el papel de la resistencia y el optimismo en los eventos negativos de la vida y la autoeficacia de afrontamiento en 228 estudiantes universitarios de primer año de la Universidad de Lorestan (Irán). El objetivo del estudio era doble: (1) analizar las asociaciones entre resistencia, optimismo, eventos de vida negativos y autoeficacia de afrontamiento; y (2) determinar si la resistencia y el optimismo moderan la relación entre los eventos negativos de la vida y la autoeficacia de afrontamiento. Método: Este estudio correlacional descriptivo se realizó en el año escolar 2016-17. En este estudio, al principio seleccionamos 228 estudiantes. Luego, los estudiantes completaron el Cuestionario de Eventos de la Vida Adolescente (ALEQ), la Prueba de Orientación de la Vida revisada (LOT-R), la Escala de Resistencia de Kobasa y la Escala de Autoeficacia (CSE). Se utilizaron análisis jerárquicos de regresión lineal para examinar el papel moderador de la resistencia y el optimismo. Resultados: Los resultados revelan que existe una relación significativa entre resistencia, optimismo, eventos vitales negativos y autoeficacia de afrontamiento. La resistencia y el optimismo también fueron moderadores en la relación entre los eventos negativos de la vida y la autoeficacia de afrontamiento. Conclusión: Los hallazgos respaldaron la hipótesis de que niveles más altos de resistencia y optimismo se asociarían con niveles más altos de autoeficacia de afrontamiento, y que niveles más bajos de resistencia y optimismo se asociarían con niveles más bajos de autoeficacia de afrontamiento. Finalmente, nuestros resultados implican que la resistencia y el optimismo son un moderador importante de los eventos negativos de la vida del estudiante sobre la autoeficacia de afrontamiento. Introduction. This study analyzes the role of Hardiness and optimism on negative life events and coping self-efficacy in 228 first-year undergraduate students from lorestan university (iran). The aim of the study was two-fold: (1) to analyze the associations between Hardiness, optimism, negative life events and coping self-efficacy; and (2) to determine whether Hardiness and optimism moderates the relationship between negative life events and coping self-efficacy. Method. This descriptive correlational study was conducted in the school year of 2016-17. In this study, at first we selected 228 students. Then the students completed the Adolescent Life Events Questionnaire (ALEQ), Revised Life Orientation Test (LOT-R), Kobasa's Hardiness Scale, and Coping Self-Efficacy Scale (CSE). Hierarchical linear regression analyses were used to examine the moderating role of Hardiness and optimism. Results. Results reveal that there is a significant Relationship between Hardiness, optimism, negative life events and coping self-efficacy. Hardiness and optimism was also a moderator in the relationship between negative life events and coping self-efficacy. Conclusion. The findings supported the hypothesis that higher levels of Hardiness and optimism would be associated with higher levels of Coping Self-Efficacy, and that lower levels of Hardiness and optimism would be associated with lower levels of Coping Self-Efficacy. Finally, our results imply that Hardiness and optimism is an important moderator of student’s negative life events on Coping Self-Efficacy.

Los estudios sobre resiliencia y optimismo en el ámbito deportivo son escasos. El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer la prevalencia de la resiliencia y el optimismo en gimnasia rítmica; y analizar diferencias en función de su categoría de edad, años de práctica deportiva y experiencia en competición. Fueron evaluadas 29 gimnastas de rítmica (edad de 13 a 20; M = 15.3; DT = 1.83). Se utilizó la Escala de Resiliencia adaptada al español, y la Escala de Orientación hacia la Vida Revisada (LOT-R) para optimismo. Los resultados apuntan a que un 24.8% de las participantes presenta elevada resiliencia. En cuanto a optimismo, el 20.7% muestra niveles elevados frente al 62.1% que presenta niveles bajos. No hay diferencias en resiliencia y optimismo según las variables analizadas. Se sugiere atender los niveles de optimismo en los atletas para mejora de su bienestar y de su rendimiento deportivo. Abstract. Studies on resilience and optimism in the sports field are scarce. The objective of this work is to know the prevalence of both constructs in rhythmic gymnastics; and analysis of differences depending on their age category, years of sports practice and experience in competition. 29 gymnasts were evaluated (age from 13 to 20; M = 15.3; DT = 1.83). The Resilience Scale adapted to Spanish was used, and the Revised Life Orientation Scale (LOT-R) to optimism. The results indicate that 24.8% of the participants present high resilience. As for optimism, 20.7% show high levels compared to 62.1% who show low levels. There are no differences in resilience and optimism according to the variables analyzed (category, years of sports practice and experience in competition). It is suggested to address the levels of optimism in athletes to improve their well-being and sports performance.

Proliferation optimism is the controversial theoretical and worrisome practical product of neorealism. This article reviews and ultimately rejects proliferation optimism by showing how it actually reproduces what it seeks to eliminate: pessimism. This article interprets proliferation optimism through the lens of Burkean conservatism and contends—adopting the formative reasoning of neorealism and optimism—that as the ideal nuclear society which optimism envisions resembles the ideal conservative society Burke describes in his Reflections, that optimism reproduces a core belief of conservatism: flawed human nature. The article contends that, contrary to the first principles of neorealism, an unheralded view of human nature operates within optimism to yield its reservations about widespread proliferation which, in turn, reveal optimism's essential pessimism. Illustrating how optimism is pessimism may diminish its theoretical and practical allure.

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social support and optimism for the future of adolescents in the Salatiga Islamic orphanage. The research subjects were adolescents at the Salatiga Islamic orphanage who were taken using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 120 subjects, consisting of 52.5% boys and 47.5% girls. The data was collected using a social support scale and a future optimism scale. Data analysis was processed using statistical regression analysis techniques. The analysis showed a significant positive relationship between social support and optimism for the future of adolescents in the orphanage. Abstrak Remaja di panti asuhan pada umumnya pernah mempunyai masalah terhadaplingkungannya, teman, dan masyarakat. Sehingga mempunyai optimisme yangrendah dalam menghadapi masa depannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan optimisme masadepan remaja di panti asuhan Islam Salatiga. Subyek penelitian adalah remajadi panti asuhan Islam Salatiga yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknikpurposive sampling dengan jumlah subjek 120 orang, terdiri atas 52,5% remajalaki-laki dan 47,5% remaja perempuan. Sikap tersebut dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk mempertahankan suatu hubungan. Karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan guna mengetahui apakah ada keterkaitan atau pengaruh antara religiusitas terhadap optimisme pada korban perselingkuhan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan convenience sampling dengan jumlah 141 sampel. Skala yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah International Islamic University Malaysia Religiosity Scale (IIUMRelS) dengan 10 item dan The Indonesian version of the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) dengan 6 item. Analisis regresi digunakan sebagai teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dari analisis adalah adanya pengaruh religiusitas terhadap optimisme pada korban perselingkuhan, yang mana nilai konsisten optimisme sebesar 10,794 dan nilai koefisien regresi pada variabel religiustas sebesar 0,323. Hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa sebesar 26,8% religiustas memiliki pengaruh terhadap optimisme dan sisanya dipengaruhi faktor lain. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ialah semakin tingginya tingkat religiusitas terhadap opimisme maka kan semakin tinggi juga tingkat optimisme pada korban perselingkuhan Efficacy that someone owns can lead to trust in one another, especially in a relationship. This attitude is done as an effort to maintain a relationship. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine whether there is a relationship or influence between religiosity and optimism in infidelity victims. Sampling was carried out using convenience sampling with a total of 141 samples. The scale used in this study is the International Islamic University Malaysia Religiosity Scale (IIUMRelS) with 10 items and The Indonesian version of the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) with 6 items. Regression analysis is used as an analytical technique in this study. The result of the analysis is that religiosity influences optimism in infidelity victims, where the consistent value of optimism is 10.794, and the value of the regression coefficient on the religiosity variable is 0.323. This shows that 26.8% of religiosity influences optimism, and other factors influence the rest. This study concludes that the higher the religiosity towards optimism, the higher the optimism for infidelity victims.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of Entrepreneurial optimism on entrepreneurial perseverance, and whether entrepreneurial optimism can be moderated by cognitive style towards entrepreneurial perseverance. This study uses a quantitative method where data is collected by researchers through surveys directly to prospective respondents by giving questionnaires to 60 SME respondents in the culinary field in West Jakarta. The data analysis method used by the researcher was SEM which was calculated through SmartPLS 3 software with the bootstrapping method to measure the significance level. The results showed that entrepreneurial optimism had an influence on entrepreneurial perseverance, but for cognitive styles that moderated the relationship of entrepreneurial optimism with entrepreneurial perseverance it produced negative resultsTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh optimisme kewirausahaan terhadap ketekunan kewirausahaan, dan apakah optimisme kewirausahaan dapat dimoderasi oleh gaya kognitif terhadap ketekunan kewirausahaan. Penyakit kanker payudara merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian utama di dunia, termasuk di Indonesia. Prevalensi kasus dari penyakit kanker payudara juga meningkat dari tahun ke tahun. Kanker payudara merupakan penyakit yang dapat mempengaruhi setiap aspek kehidupan manusia dan dapat menimbulkan masalah-masalah baik secara psikis maupun psikologis. Secara fisik, penderita akan merasakan banyak gangguan fisik seperti mual, muntah, kerontokan yang parah, dan gangguan fisik lainnya. Secara psikologis, penderita akan merasa kaget, sedih, cemas, bahkan hingga depresi. Tidak sedikit individu yang beranggapan bahwa diagnosis kanker merupakan sebuah kalimat yang mematikan, meskipun pada kenyataannya tidak selalu seperti itu. Oleh karena itu, optimisme merupakan suatu aspek yang sangat penting bagi penderita kanker payudara. Ketika individu memiliki optimisme untuk sembuh, maka individu akan memiliki kesehatan psikologis, sehingga tetap berusaha untuk melakukan hal-hal untuk mencapai kesembuhan, tidak putus asa, serta memiliki kepastian untuk memandang masa depan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif jenis deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi untuk mengumpulkan data. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada wanita berusia dewasa tengah dengan rentang usia 40 – 65 tahun. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelima subyek memiliki optimisme dalam berjuang melawan penyakit kanker payudara. Meski kualitas optimisme pada masing-masing subyek tidak sepenuhnya sama, namun, secara keseluruhan mereka dapat dikatakan optimis dalam menjalankan pengobatannya. Adapun terdapat faktor-faktor yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi optimisme pada subyek yaitu faktor kemampuan koping untuk mengatasi persoalan yang terjadi sepanjang pengobatan mereka, faktor dukungan sosial, faktor status kesehatan, faktor spiritualitas, dan motivasi dalam diri. Breast cancer is one of the main causes of death in the world, including in Indonesia. The prevalence of cases of breast cancer also increases from year to year. Breast cancer is a disease that can affect every aspect of human life and can cause problems both psychologically and psychologically. Physically, the patient will feel many physical disorders such as nausea, vomiting, severe loss, and other physical disorders. Psychologically, the patient will feel shocked, sad, anxious, even to depression. Not a few individuals who think that the diagnosis of cancer is a deadly sentence, though in reality it is not always that way. Therefore, optimism is a very important aspect for breast cancer patients. When they have optimism to heal, then they will have psychological health, so keep trying to do things to achieve healing, not despair, and have the certainty to look at the future. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with interview and observation technique to collect data. This study was conducted for middle aged women with age range 40-65 years. The results of this study can be concluded that the five subjects had optimism in fighting breast cancer. Although the quality of optimism in each subject is not entirely the same, however, overall they can be said to be optimistic in carrying out their treatment. There are several factors that influence their optimism include factors of coping ability to overcome problems that occur throughout their treatment, social support factors, health status factors, spirituality factors, and internal motivation.

Fenomena tersebut merupakan sebuah permasalahan untuk para lulusan SLTA juga termasuk para siswa sekolah yang saat pandemic ini sedang menuntut ilmu guna mempersiapkan diri untuk menyongsong masa depan. Dengan adanya fenomena seperti itu, para siswa harus memiliki optimisme yang tinggi agar dapat mempersiapkan diri sebaik mungkin untuk menghadapi masa depannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara variable self esteemdengan optimisme masa depan pada siswa SMK. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK ITENAS kelas XII. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan teknik quota sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan mencari hubungan antara variabel self esteem dengan optimisme masa depan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala self esteem dan skala optimisme. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi (r hitung) sebesar 0.694 lebih besar dari r tabel 0.195, artinya ada hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara self esteemdengan optimisme masa depan. Kata Kunci: Self-esteem, optimisme masa depan, siswa SMK This research is based on the current problem that is lack of jobs for high school graduates. Therefore the number of unemployed is increasing, especially during a pandemic like now. That phenomenon is a problem for every freshgraduates even for students who are currently facing a pandemicproblems in learning. Therefore, every student’s must have high optimism in order to prepare themselves as best as possible for their future. This research aims to examine the correlation between self-esteem and future optimism of Vocational High School students. The population in this research were 12th grade of ITENAS’S Vocational High School students. The sampling technique used was the quota sampling technique. This research is a correlational quantitative research between self-esteem and future optimism. Data collection was done using a self-esteem and optimism scales. The data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation. Based on the results of the analysis obtained the correlation coefficient value of 0.694 which is biger than the r-table value of 0.195, it means that there is a very significant positive correlation between self-esteem and future optimism. In facing changes during the lecture period, first year students usually develop unstable emotional states such as self-efficacy and optimism which can affect the subjective well-being of the student. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and optimism and subjective well-being in first year nursing students at Klabat University. This research is a quantitative type with a cross sectional approach. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 120 samples. The research results showed that the majority of students (55.8%) had low self-efficacy, the level of student optimism (61.7%) was predominantly in the high category, and the level of subjective well-being (50.8%) was predominantly low. The results of the research show that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and optimism and subjective well-being in first year nursing students at Klabat University. It is recommended that first year nursing students increase self-efficacy and optimism in order to achieve a stable condition of subjective well-being in facing lectures. Dalam menghadapi perubahan pada masa perkuliahan, biasanya mahasiswa tahun pertama akan memunculkan keadaan emosi yang tidak stabil diantaranya seperti efikasi diri dan optimisme yang dapat berpengaruh pada kesejahteraan subjektif dari mahasiswa tersebut. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan efikasi diri dan optimisme dengan kesejahteraan subjektif pada mahasiswa keperawatan tahun pertama di Universitas Klabat. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel ditetapkan melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah 120 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dominan mahasiswa (55,8%) memiliki efikasi diri yang rendah, tingkat optimisme mahasiswa (61,7%) dominan dalam kategori tinggi, dan tingkat kesejahteraan subjektif (50,8%) dominan rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara efikasi diri dan optimisme dengan Kesejahteraan subjektif pada mahasiswa keperawatan tahun pertama di Universitas Klabat. Direkomendasikan untuk mahasiswa keperawatan tahun pertama dapat meningkatkan efikasi diri dan optimisme agar tercapainya kondisi kesejahteraan subjektif yang stabil dalam menghadapi perkuliahan.

Los resultados de investigación han mostrado la existencia de relaciones entre los Cinco Grandes factores de personalidad, Optimismo y Estrés Percibido. El objetivo del estudio es explorar, mediante modelos de ecuaciones estructurales, el posible papel mediador que se ha sugerido podría desempeñar Optimismo en esta relación. También, se explora a través de un análisis multi-grupo la invarianza por sexo de los resultados. Un total de 611 adolescentes españoles completaron de forma anónima los cuestionarios BFQ, LOT-R y PSS. Optimismo se asoció positivamente asociado con los rasgos de personalidad y negativamente con Estrés Percibido. El Estrés se relacionó negativamente con Estabilidad Emocional, Extraversion y Responsabilidad y no mostró asociación alguna con Afabilidad ni con Apertura. Los análisis de mediación revelaron el papel mediador de Optimismo en la relación entre Estabilidad Emocional (mediación parcial), Extraversion y Responsabilidad y Estrés. Estos resultados no variaron por sexo. En conclusión, un perfil básico de personalidad caracterizado por Extraversión, Estabilidad Emocional y Responsabilidad favorecería el desarrollo de expectativas positivas de futuro que representan un predictor proximal de Estrés Percibido. El papel mediador del optimismo puede resultar relevante para el desarrollo de intervenciones focalizadas en reducir los niveles de estrés y, consecuentemente, mejorar el ajuste del adolescente. Research results have shown the existence of relationships between the Big Five personality factors, Optimism, and Perceived Stress. The aim of this study is to explore the possible mediating role that it has been suggested might play Optimism in this relationship. Structural equation models were conducted to examine the mediating role of Optimism. A multi-group analysis was performed to verify whether the results varied by sex. 611 Spanish adolescents completed anonymously the measures of BFQ, LOT-R and PSS. The findings showed that Optimism was positively associated with the personality traits and negatively with Perceived Stress. Perceived Stress was in turn negatively related to Emotional Stability, Extraversion and Conscientiousness, while it was not correlated with Agreeableness and Openness. Mediation analysis revealed the mediating role of Optimism on the relationship between Emotional Stability (partial mediation), Extraversion, and Conscientiousness, and the Perception of Stress. These findings did not vary by sex. In conclusion, a basic personality profile characterized by Extraversion, Emotional Stability, and Conscientiousness would favor the development of positive future expectations that represent a proximal predictor for Perceived Stress. Optimism mediation may be relevant for the development of interventions focused on reducing stress levels and, consequently, to improve the adolescent's adjustment.

Gejala sindrom purna kuasa yang dialami oleh individu yang sudah tidak bekerja atau sudah memasuki masa persiapan pensiun sering dialami oleh Pegawai yang akan berakhir maupun telah berakhir masa kerjanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan optimisme masa persiapan pensiun dan sindrom purna kuasa. Metode Penelitian adalah kuantitaif-asosiatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) Guru yang ada di kota Makassar dan pengambilan sampel sebanyak 29 orang menggunakan teknik accidental sampling, mengingat penelitian ini bersifat non parametrik dimana sampel boleh berjumlah kurang dari 30 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara optimisme masa persiapan pensiun dan sindrom purna kuasa, r = - 0,822 (p = 0,000 ). Artinya, semakin tinggi optimisme masa persiapan pensiun maka semakin rendah sindrom purna kuasa pada Tenaga Pengajar (Guru) yang berstatus PNS. Hal tersebut menunjukkan ada pengaruh negatif yang siginifikan antara optimisme masa persiapan pensiun dan sindrom purna kuasa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai informasi untuk menanamkan sikap optimisme dalam diri untuk menghadapi masa persiapan pensiun agar terhindar dari sindrom purna kuasa.Kata kunci: Pensiun, Masa Persiapan Pensiun, Sindrom Purna Kuasa, Pegawai Negeri Sipil, dan Guru. The symptoms of post power syndrome are often experienced by individuals who are retired or has entered a period prior to retirement. This study aims to determine the relationship between optimism retirement preparation and post power syndrome. This study aims to determine the relationship of optimism during the preparation of retirement and post power syndrome. Research method is quantitative-associative. The population in this research is Civil Servant (PNS) of teachers in Makassar city and sampling of 29 people using accidental sampling technique, considering this research is non parametric where the sample may amount to less than 30 people. The result showed there is a negative relationship between optimism retirement preparation and post-power syndrome, r = - 0.822 (p = 0.000). That is, the higher the optimism of retirement preparation period, the lower the syndrome of powers on the teachers as civil servants. This suggests that there is a significant negative influence between optimism of retirement preparation period and post-power syndrome. This study implicates that it is necessary to instill an optimism attitude in order to face future retirement period as an attempt to avoid the post-power syndrome.Keywords: Retirement, Retirement Preparation, Post-Power Syndrome, Civil Servant, and Teacher.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel ketakutan (fear), antisipasi (anticipation), dan pesimisme (pesimism) tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penggunaan komputer di kalangan pendidik. Abstract:
This study aims to determine the effect of adversity quotient and optimism on GPA results on the timely study of final year PAI students at UIN Malang. The research was conducted at UIN Malang with a total of 35 students. Subjects were selected using purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using the adversity quotient scale, optimism scale and efficiency scale. The data analysis technique used multiple regression model using IBM SPSS 25 statistics for windows. The results of the description show that the adversity quotient variable is categorized as high with a percentage of 54.3%, the optimism variable for GPA results is categorized as high with a percentage of 62.9%, and efficiency is categorized as high with a percentage of 62.9%. The results of the partial regression test show that the adversity quotient has a significant effect on the timely study of 20%, and the optimism variable also has a significant effect on the timely study of 77%. The results of the simultaneous regression test explained that the adversity quotient and the optimism of the GPA results had a significant effect on the timely study of final year PAI students at UIN Malang by 97%. Both are assumed to affect the achievement of the study on time. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh adversity quotient dan optimisme hasil IPK terhadap studi tepat waktu mahasiswa PAI tingkat akhir UIN Malang. Penelitian dilakukan di UIN Malang dengan jumlah mahasiswa sebanyak 35 orang. Subyek dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan skala adversity quotient, skala optimisme dan skala efisiensi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model regresi berganda dengan menggunakan statistik IBM SPSS 25 for windows. Hasil deskripsi menunjukkan variabel adversity quotient dikategorikan tinggi dengan persentase 54,3%, variabel optimisme hasil IPK dikategorikan tinggi dengan persentase 62,9%, dan efisiensi dikategorikan tinggi dengan persentase 62,9%. Hasil uji regresi secara parsial diketahui bahwa adversity quotient berpengaruh signifikan terhadap studi tepat waktu sebesar 20%, dan variabel optimisme juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap studi tepat waktu sebesar 77%. Hasil uji regresi secara simultan menjelaskan bahwa adversity quotient dan optimisme hasil IPK berpengaruh signifikan terhadap studi tepat waktu mahasiswa PAI tingkat akhir UIN Malang sebesar 97%. Keduanya diasumsikan dapat mempengaruhi tercapainya studi tepat waktu

The absence of parents causes problems for teenagers, especially coping strategies that are not well formed. Teenagers are less able to respond to problems adaptively, such as being more aggressive, and not being able to work together. The aim of this research is to determine the role of locus of control and optimism on problem-focused coping in adolescents in orphanages. Population of this study was 129 teenagers from 3 orphanages in Yogyakarta. Sample was taken using quota sampling, amount of 59 participants (average 50.84 aged 17 years). Data was collected using three questionnaires, (1) Problem-Focused Coping Scale, (2) Locus of Control Scale, (3) Optimism scale. Data was analyzed descriptively, and statistical analysis (hypothesis testing) was carried out using multiple regression procedures with the SPSS v.23 program. The results of this study indicate that there is a role of locus of control and optimism in problem-focused coping with an effective contribution. amounting to 30.8%. Specifically, the effective contribution of locus of control is 21.9%, while the effective contribution of optimism to problem-focused coping is 15.9%. These findings provide evidence that internal locus of control and optimism are internal factors that can predict problem-focused coping ability. Ketidakhadiran orang tua di samping anak dapat menimbulkan masalah pada remaja khususnya strategi coping yang tidak terbentuk dengan baik. Remaja kurang mampu merespon masalah dengan adaptif seperti lebih agresif, tidak dapat bekerja sama dengan baik dan lainnya. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran locus of control dan optimisme terhadap problem focused coping pada remaja di panti asuhan. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 129 remaja dari 3 panti asuhan di Yogyakarta. Sampel diambil dengan quota sampling sebanyak 59 remaja (rata-rata 50,84 usia 17 tahun). Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tiga kuesioner, (1) Skala Problem Focused Coping, (2) Skala Locus of Control, (3) Skala Optimism. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan analisis statistik (pengujian hipotesis) dilakukan dengan prosedur regresi berganda dengan program SPSS v.23. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peran locus of control dan optimisme pada problem-focused coping dengan kontribusi efektif. sebesar 30,8%. Secara spesifik, sumbangan efektif locus of control sebesar 21,9% sedangkan sumbangan efektif optimisme terhadap problem-focused coping sebesar 15,9%. Temuan ini memberikan bukti bahwa internal locus of control dan optimisme merupakan faktor internal yang dapat memprediksi problem-focused coping ability.

Abstract:
Changes in education sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic resulting in changes to teaching and learning activities making teachers have to adapt to online learning implementation. Optimism is an internal factor that is relevant to predict the teachers’ readiness to face the future, given the meaning namely positive belief that individuals have in viewing their future. A qualitative method was carried out on seven elementary school teachers to find the overview of their optimism on teaching during Covid-19 pandemic. It was found that teachers did not feel optimistic at the beginning of the pandemic situation but begin to show optimism after one semester of teaching online. After conducting thematic analysis, we found that teachers show optimism in the form of three dimension of optimism with the most dominant behavior appeared in the form of personalization dimension. It is concluded that elementary school teachers have better chances to be optimist during teaching in the Covid-19 pandemic time, which implies that they will be motivated to try to overcome the difficulties they encounter.

Fenomena tersebut merupakan sebuah permasalahan untuk para lulusan SLTA juga termasuk para siswa sekolah yang saat pandemic ini sedang menuntut ilmu guna mempersiapkan diri untuk menyongsong masa depan. Dengan adanya fenomena seperti itu, para siswa harus memiliki optimisme yang tinggi agar dapat mempersiapkan diri sebaik mungkin untuk menghadapi masa depannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji hubungan antara variable self esteemdengan optimisme masa depan pada siswa SMK. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMK ITENAS kelas XII. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan teknik quota sampling. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan mencari hubungan antara variabel self esteem dengan optimisme masa depan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala self esteem dan skala optimisme. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah korelasi product moment. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi (r hitung) sebesar 0.694 lebih besar dari r tabel 0.195, artinya ada hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara self esteemdengan optimisme masa depan. This research is based on the current problem that is lack of jobs for high school graduates. Therefore the number of unemployed is increasing, especially during a pandemic like now. That phenomenon is a problem for every freshgraduates even for students who are currently facing a pandemicproblems in learning. Therefore, every student’s must have high optimism in order to prepare themselves as best as possible for their future. This research aims to examine the correlation between self-esteem and future optimism of Vocational High School students. The population in this research were 12th grade of ITENAS’S Vocational High School students. The sampling technique used was the quota sampling technique. This research is a correlational quantitative research between self-esteem and future optimism. Data collection was done using a self-esteem and optimism scales. The data analysis technique used is the product moment correlation. Based on the results of the analysis obtained the correlation coefficient value of 0.694 which is biger than the r-table value of 0.195, it means that there is a very significant positive correlation between self-esteem and future optimism.

The relation between dispositional optimism and better adjustment to diverse stressors may be attributable to optimism's effects on coping strategies. A meta-analytic review ( K = 50, N = 11,629) examined the impact of dispositional optimism on coping. Dispositional optimism was found to be positively associated with approach coping strategies aiming to eliminate, reduce, or manage stressors or emotions ( r = .17), and negatively associated with avoidance coping strategies seeking to ignore, avoid, or withdraw from stressors or emotions ( r = -.21). Effect sizes were larger for the distinction between approach and avoidance coping strategies than for that between problem and emotion-focused coping. Meta-analytic findings also indicate that optimists may adjust their coping strategies to meet the demands of the stressors at hand, and that the optimism-coping relationship is strongest in English-speaking samples.

Skripsi merupakan tugas yang harus dikerjakan oleh mahasiswa program sarjana S-1 pada tingkat akhir. Mahasiswa dapat menggunakan mekanisme kopingnya dalam menghadapi tekanan pada skripsi yang mereka kerjakan. Salah satu mekanisme koping yang dianggap paling efektif digunakan untuk mengatasi tekanan pada mahasiswa adalah sikap optimisme. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara tingkat optimisme dengan mekanisme koping dalam menghadapi skripsi pada mahasiswa kedokteran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis hubungan menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan mekanisme koping paling banyak pada klasifikasi adaptif dengan jumlah 79 orang dengan presentase 74,5 %. Pada peneltian ini didapatkan bahwa frekuensi optimisme paling banyak pada optimisme sedang dengan jumlah 70 orang dengan presentase 66 %. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan nilai P (value) sebesar 0,022 < 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan mekanisme koping memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap optimism. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan nilai R sebesar 0,223 dapat diartikan bahwa mekanisme koping dengan optimism mahasiswa memiliki hubungan yang rendah. Kesimpulan mekanisme koping memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap optimisme.

Skala coping stress diadaptasi dari COPE, skala optimisme diadaptasi dari LOT-R, dan skala kontrol diri diadapatasi dari SCS, skala tersebut digu nakan dalam pengumpulan data dengan reliabilitas 0,940, 0,769, dan 0,937. Adapun teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa antara optimisme dengan coping stress memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (R=0,529, f(1,155) = 60,101, p = <0,01), kemudian hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan coping stress juga memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (R=0,366, f(5,150) = 78,544, p = <0,01). Begitu pula antara optimisme dan kontrol diri dengan coping stress juga memiliki hubungan yang signifikan (R=0,892, f(2,155) = 298,581, p = <0,01). Thia research aims to know the relationship between optimism and self control with respect to coping stress academic coping stress in undergraduate student guidance and counseling UNNES. Results of the study showed that between optimism coping stress have a significant relationship (R= 0,529 f(1,555)= 60,101, p =<0,01) then the relationship between coping stress with self control also has a significant relationship (R= 0,366, f(5,150) = 78,544, p=<0,01). Abstract:
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between optimism and academic resilience during the online learning period for students. The subjects in this study are the active students in the Faculty of Psychology at Satya Wacana Christian University, with a total sample of 275 students. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a quota sampling technique. The measuring instrument for the optimism variable is the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R), and the academic resilience scale measuring instrument is the Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS-30). The data analysis technique in this research uses assumption test and correlation test. Data analysis in this study was carried out with the help of SPSS version 26 software. There is a significant relationship with a positive direction between optimism and academic resilience with a significance value of 0.012 (p<0.05) and a correlation value of r = 0.136 which was tested using the Product Moment Correlation technique from Spearman. This means that the higher the student's optimism, the higher the academic resilience of students and vice versa. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara optimisme dengan resiliensi akademik selama masa pembelajaran daring pada mahasiswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana dengan jumlah sampel 275 mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan teknik quota sampling. Alat ukur untuk variabel optimisme adalah Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R) dan alat ukur skala resiliensi akademik yaitu Academic Resilience Scale-30 (ARS-30). Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji asumsi dan uji korelasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 26.o. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dengan arah positif antara optimisme dengan resiliensi akademik dengan nilai signifikansi 0,012 (p<0,05) dan nilai korelasi r = 0,136 yang diuji menggunakan teknik Korelasi Product Moment dari Spearman. Hal ini berarti semakin tinggi optimisme mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula resiliensi akademik pada mahasiswa dan sebaliknya.

Abstract: There are many negative situations that make students depressed and very stressed with their academics. Students who lack endurance need conducive conditions through social support and strong optimism. This study aimed to test the effect of social support and optimism on the resilience of students working on their thesis. The subjects involved were 79 active students of the faculty of psychology. This study was conducted with quantitative methods using three scales: resilience, social support, and optimism. Sampling was performed using the purposive sampling technique, while the analysis employed the multiple linear regression technique. The results of the major hypothesis analysis show a very significant relationship between social support and student optimism and the resilience of students working on their thesis. The findings of this study can be a significant discussion topic for researchers or other education practitioners to prioritize establishing student resilience in writing final projects and encourage further research related to predominant factors that influence the attitudes of final-year students. Abstrak: Terdapat banyak faktor dari situasi negatif yang membuat mahasiswa tertekan dan sangat stress dengan kondisi akademiknya. Siswa yang daya tahannya kurang membutuhkan kondisi yang kondusif melalui dukungan sosial dan optimisme yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dukungan sosial dan optimisme terhadap resiliensi mahasiswa yang mengerjakan skripsi. Subyek yang terlibat sebanyak 79 mahasiswa aktif fakultas psikologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan tiga skala yaitu resiliensi, dukungan sosial, dan optimisme. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sedangkan analisis menggunakan teknik regresi linier berganda. Hasil analisis hipotesis mayor menunjukkan ada hubungan yang sangat signifikan antara dukungan sosial dengan optimisme mahasiswa dan resiliensi mahasiswa dalam mengerjakan skripsi. Temuan penelitian ini dapat menjadi topik diskusi yang signifikan bagi peneliti atau praktisi pendidikan lainnya guna memprioritaskan pembentukan resiliensi mahasiswa dalam menulis tugas akhir dan mendorong penelitian lebih lanjut terkait faktor dominan yang memengaruhi sikap mahasiswa tingkat akhir.

ABSTRACTSelf regulated learning is an interesting and important study in the Covid-19 pandemic so that many experts are doing it according to their scientific fields. This study aims to examine the effect of self-awareness and optimis on self-regulated learning. The research method used quantitative with subject 105 new students who were taken randomly at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The data was obtained through a scale of SRIS (self awareness), LOT-R (optimism) and OSRL (self regulated learning). Data were analyzed using regression techniques. The results of the analysis show that self-awareness and optimis have a direct effect of 40.9% with an R-square value = 0.409. The article is devoted to the phenomenon of existential optimism. The authors interpret it as a mental attitude inherent in an individual and including a positive assessment of the world, the ability to enjoy and the will to live. Existential opti­mism does not merge with social optimism, it is associated with determining the individual trajectory of fate and is able to help a person to go through some difficult social circumstances, maintaining a positive attitude and realizing their goals. Its core is the feeling and choice of a personal life project, which exists not only in youth, but can be actualized in different ways at any age. The authors define the figure of an existential optimist using the concepts of “productivity” (E. Fromm) and “self-actualization” (A. Maslow), as well as the image of a “winner” (E. Bern). Life’s obstacles are seen by such a person not only as a normal characteristic of reality, but also as a field for the game of our forces, which brings him the joy of being. In the formation of such a world relation, ed­ucation and personal example of the elders play a great role. The authors also consider the theme of death and frustration that any person faces, and emphasize that death is not the focus of an existential optimist. The last theme discussed in the article is “positive thinking” practices. The conclusions emphasize that the position of an optimist can’t be imposed on anyone, but can only be indepen­dently accepted.

Novel Sang Pemimpi (NSP) is the second novel written by Andrea Hirata from the Laskar Pelangi tetralogy. This research focuses to explore and understand the values of optimism in NSP using a psychological approach, based on 6 characteristics of optimism in Daniel Goleman book (1995) “Emotional Intelligence.”  The characteristics of optimism include: having high expectations, not easily discouraged, being able to motivate themselves, having high self-confidence, not being resigned, and seeing something as a thing that can be changed.
