Full textThe aim of this exploratory study is to gain a better understanding of this concept in the light of the demand for benevolence made of teachers and schools as a whole. Through this thesis, we are interested in the impact of education systems on pupils and teachers, through the prism of benevolence. Through two field studies (French school system / Californian school system - San Diego), we are attempting to identify elements for understanding what benevolence is in a school context. We note that benevolence is a vague concept, fraught with prejudices and personal translations, which can hinder its deployment. We therefore feel it is necessary to refine its conceptualization and the criteria for its operationalization so that it can be understood and implemented in the classroom. By means of observations, questionnaires and interviews, we are attempting to define what it is, how it is expressed by the various members of the educational community, but also how it is perceived and felt by those who benefit from it (or not) and what impact its implementation may have within classes, within relationships and on individuals. The results show that when benevolence is seen as an obstacle to high standards, teachers only think of applying it in the absence of difficulties, which are of all kinds. Finally, the example of San Diego shows that, thanks to genuine, comprehensive training in benevolence, it can be implemented with a real impact on teachers and pupils

Full textBased on the development and the theoretical legitimisation of organisational agility model, this research explores the perceptions and representations of managers on organizational agility to clarify and operationalize this construct. To do this, we first get back to the sources of organisational agility that appeared in 1991. This work highlights a strong theoretical foundation based on four agility capabilities: responsiveness, flexibility, quickness, and competence. This theoretical exploration allows us to continue our research in two phases. We first conducted a questionnaire to collect, twenty-five years after the first development of agility, perceptions of managers on the definition of agility capabilities, the practices associated with these capabilities. We compared our results with those of a measurement scale of organizational agility published in the literature in December 2011.Finally, this research provides two major results. First, we observe that managers do not perceive organizational agility as the theoretical developments read in the literature. Managers articulate the different managerial and organizational practices and they do not follow the theoretical developments. The second major result is the improvement of the measurement scale of organisational agility published in 2011. T

Full textSince independence, Tunisia has set up an educational system in which the achievement of modern society is tightly linked and mainly rests on the degree emancipation of individuals. Rather than a disinterested political choice, that was in fact a reaction to the breaking up of the tunisian society that was underway. However, this system proved to be a failure and is now being led to destruction by its own structures. For education emancipates only those who are already emancipated from the social restrictions. The maladjustment of the current system to the reality and to its own initial projects urges us to ponder over the possibilities of creating a new system that garantees emancipation to each and every individual. Effective emancipation of the individual by knowledge means offering him all possible means to acquire and to posses knowledge. From a pedagogical stand point, this implies that the tunisian education board should set up a set of differentiated educational methods that takes into account the social particularities of each individual and that provides him with all required facilities to his evolution. Yet, it goes without saying that the implantation of such a policy is not an easy task and often meets with pedagogical as well as institutional obstacles

Full textSocial Work in homes constitutes an irreplaceable aid for families or individuals facing difficulties. But welfare services must be cautious about putting the very people they intend helping into a situation of dependence with respect to the service, making them believe they are unable to act by themselves, giving them a mentality of assisted people. Among an immigrant population, Social Work greatly increases this risk, due to the weaknesses in the educational system and the differences in culture. It gives the immigrant the propensity to believe that whatever he may do, people will always look down on him. This is the very purpose of this research on welfare service and dependence. But this thesis also deals with the problem of institutions and administrations, which ought to accompany social services and facilitate their action, while the opposite is too often observed. Some of the existing rules should therefore be modified, or perhaps new rules be set up

Full textThis thesis contributes to the political economy literature on environmental policy. It seeks to explain the divergence between economist’s prescription on one hand and policy implementation on the other hand. In the first part, it looks at the theories of regulation and discusses the realism of the benevolence assumption of public decision maker. It refers to the development of Austrian Political Economy based on the principle of policy learning and on the empirical evidences of public choice theorists that relates to the determinants of environmental regulation. In the second part, it uses the Public Choice methodology based on opportunistic policymaker and investigates from a theoretical point of view the determinants of the dynamic of environmental regulation. It refers to rent seeking theory and develop a model of a dynamic of regulation that is based on the influence of cognitive bias on public policies. Such a model enables us to determine the conditions of cycles in environmental regulation. It enhances to understand and predict environmental policies that are surrounded on scientific controversies, such as climate policies

Full textIn an atmosphere of intense competition, reward programs are now made standard to generate lassitude. Numerous companies are interested in the development of customer recognition benefits in order to improve customer loyalty. Companies are able to keen the buyers happy by offering selected customers special status so that they feel superior. These are granted a wide range of privileges and special treatments. Nowadays, even though relational practices based on the development of recognition benefits are common among brand names, not much literature is available on the subject. This research helps our understanding of the effects of such symbolic benefits. Based on two qualitative and three quantitative studies, a) we first define the recognition benefits, b) then study the effects of the development of recognition benefits on customer loyalty, c) try to understand how to develop customer recognition benefits, d) and last highlight the pitfalls in terms of recognition based relationship strategies
